LIRR Conductors, MSG Employees Traded Free Rides For Free Tickets

The MTA inspector general has uncovered a deal whereby conductors on the Long Island Railroad reportedly gave employees of Madison Square Garden free rides in exchange for free tickets to games and other events.
The New York Times says this may have been going on since 1999 and that it was not approved by top officials at either entity.
The inspector general tells the paper it's impossible to know how much revenue was lost.
The railroad's chief transportation officer says this is a clear violation of company policy and will not be tolerated.
A spokesman for MSG says they have not seen the report, but noted they were the first to raise these concerns to the investigators.
