NEW YORK -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Wednesday that he expected the state's Public Authorities Control Board to approve the stadium plans, and the sooner the better.
The PACB vote represents a final hurdle for the Jets stadium, which won out last week in a bidding war for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's railyards.
The PACB's three members are controlled by Republican Gov. George Pataki, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, a Democrat, and Senate Republican leader Joseph Bruno.
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newyork/ny-bc-ny--bloomberg-stadium0406apr06,0,2513524.story?coll=ny-region-apnewyork

More from NYT:
State officials said the Public Authorities Control Board could not meet to decide the fate of the stadium until it first wins approval of the Empire State Development Corporation, which is controlled by Governor Pataki, who has expressed support for the plan.
Ron Jury, a spokesman for the corporation, said the Empire State's board of five Pataki appointees would meet to vote on the stadium plan by the end of April. Assuming the board approves - as officials at all levels of government say they expect - it would go to the Public Authorities Control Board for approval.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/07/nyregion/07stadium.html?
