21 Jake: This is episode 54 of the Jekk Thank you. of the women. Justin: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. As always, Jake here on the depressed digital aisle. The up and down the hill of the season digital aisle and joining me for one night only on the 54th episode. Well, sorry for every single one of the episodes. It's my good buddy Justin. Justin, how you doing? Doing great, actually. I'm feeling... I'm feeling great. Only feeling great because you're a Yankee fan. Jake: I am a Yankee fan, and the Yankees, as of this recording, are not in the World Series. have one game to go and it's about to kick off game five and I'm looking forward to it but we have some time before that starts to talk about the Jets who are a 500 team in the NFL which isn't too too bad especially when looking at it from before the season starts but when you start 3-0 you expect a little more. Three. Hence the dilemma. Justin: So let's talk a little bit about our agenda. Agenda for tonight. We're going to talk about the Jets versus the Bills or the debacle in the Meadowlands. We will, of course, pick our play of the game and fool of the game, each of us. Then we will just give out what we did last week and throw in picks. Then we're going to pick every game this week upcoming week seven of the NFL. We will then go in depth into the AFC East, the four AFC East. It's been a while since we actually had four AFC East games because they've been playing each other. And we'll take some questions from the tweeter-verse. We have one waiting for us. We'll talk about the polls. We'll go over the review of the old poll. have on the We'll be right back. and I'll tell you what the new poll of the week is. And so that is that. So let's get started with the painful piece, I guess, of the podcast. We'll try to make it short and sweet. We'll try to rip that band-aid off. You joined me at the game for a couple of days. I did. Thank you very much. We had a very successful tailgate, which I actually would look back and say is probably the best part of the game was the tailgate. Probably. It was a lot of fun. Jake: Good couple hours out there in the what seemed to be not such terrible Weather as they were predicting they were predicting storms and or at least rain and it wasn't really raining was super windy Out it was really really windy things were blowing all over the place But it wasn't raining at all and by the time the game started it actually cleared up and and the skies actually
05 Justin: Cleared there were not there were no clouds at one point. Yeah, I mean this was I mean I'll just keep my I mean What the fuck basically it is? Yeah, I don't ever think that we're ever gonna win a game like you know I mean I think we're gonna win a game But there's very few games that we go in that I'm like we're gonna win this game right there's no chance. We're not gonna lose This is one of the games I just thought I just can't see us losing it. I couldn't I couldn't put together the The the plays in my head or whatever. I thought it would be close In fact, I think I picked it close because if CCS matchups almost always close and I thought the bills Although pretty much crappy team. I thought they were better than their record, you know Seeing what they've done with some other teams You know basically stuck it close, so I you know I I thought it'd be close But I just didn't think that this would turn out to be the game that it was I mean this is a game Basically it came down to one thing which is turning the ball over this was a 13 3 or a 3 3 13 13 game That went into overtime you know obviously hold on there hold on hold on yeah, this was a 13 Jake: This was a 13-3 game at halftime. And we controlled this game, and we missed the field goal right at the end of the half to go up 16-3. So we had this game completely under control. They had their backup quarterback in the game, which, you know, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is that? We're killing them, we're running the ball all over them. uh... never ever ever should the team run for three hundred eighteen yards and lose a game how do you do that Justin: well uh... one way to do one way yeah you throw five one way Jake: you know they have uh... a rookie quarterback throw five picks or brat farf throw five picks uh... either way you're gonna lose that game i mean i guess I mean, geez, that was a really rough one. really really rough. We sat together obviously during the game until the very end when I had to leave you for a ride home so I went and met some other folks who had some seats right behind the goal post. So it was really awesome to watch that field goal because I was right on and I could see it just wide right and it was great and I thought we had the momentum back at that point cuz hey you know they just missed the field goal we win the coin toss the whole deal but wow what a what a shocker I really thought when we were up 13-3 that that was it the game was sort of over And it was, we blew it. We managed to shut down their offense for the most part. They had a couple of good drives, one really good play by Lee Evans for a long touchdown
05 Jake: where he beat Lido Sheppard, it was back. You know, this was a tough one to swallow. We really should be 4 and 2 looking at Oakland and instead we're 3 and 3 going out west facing Oakland and the pressure is on because if you lose to Oakland and go 3 and 4... You look really really bad. You have to win this game. This is now a must-win game For for this New York Jets team and Rex Ryan Justin: Yeah, I mean I'm looking at all the stats and again, you know That's sort of the one thing that stick we we shut down the running game marsh on Lynn 61 yards Fred Jackson 52 yards No big deal Yeah, I mean they rushed the ball a ton. I mean their averages were under four. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 10 for 25 for 116 yards. I mean he had a rating... Jake: Yeah, you know what though? Our guy was 10 for 29 but he had five picks and Fitzpatrick only had one. Justin: And a rating of 8.3. And that's not out of 10. That's out of like 143 or 147, whatever it is. Yeah, the receivers, I mean, we haven't had that big play. You know, talk about let's just talk about the positives. OK, so we lost the game. Fuck it. Let's talk about the positives. We ran the shit out of one is that we gave up the ball five times and still had a chance to win. There are very few teams that you give them all five times and have any chance to win. We had every chance. We had multiple chances to win that game. You know, we could have won. We could have kicked that. You could have had that field goal go, you know, before the half and been up, and I think that would have changed the outcome of that game. We could have run the ball more. There's certainly some Monday morning quarterbacking going saying, if Thomas Jones was putting up 210 yards, why not give it to him again and again until they couldn't stop it? We could have won that game, but clearly when your quarterback gives the ball away. See you next week. I mean, they gave the ball away five times and the other team only scored one touchdown. That's crazy land, right? Crazy land. Yeah, it is. Like five times. They basically got the ball five times on a place where they could have scored, you know, within distance, you know, they weren't deep in their own end zone. And yet they didn't score. So I mean, you know, they only scored one touchdown. And again, the big news that come out of the game and things that, you know. Jake: Oh, so depressing. This is where, this is where... the Jets fans get really beaten, it's like kicking you while you're down. Let me kick you right in the face while you're laying there on the ground. Justin: Yeah, we lose Chris Jenkins, Rest of the Season, ACL, Dunn, Dunners and Dunn. And that's sort of, yeah, that is the worst, right? You lose to Division Faux, who's really not good. You lose at home. home. Your quarterback who has played up and down has a really down game, probably one of the, hopefully the worst you'll ever experience. Hey, it might be one of his worst. I mean, look, he's a rookie. Jake: It's going to definitely be one of his, when he looks back,
01 Jake: one of those games where he's going to think, wow. Justin: Yeah, and I think that's the test. I think this is the thing to take from this game is, you know. A couple of things I've talked about with people all week long is, one is- You haven't talked to me about it. Well, that's why I'm talking to you now, so you can listen to my wisdom. Wow. Shouldn't you let me in on these things before you let everyone else? No, because that's what makes it a good conversation. You know, I think the hardest part about this loss is, or these last three losses- is that the expectation level went from going to this season thinking, okay rookie quarterback, rookie head coach, you know, we're gonna win some games, we're gonna lose some games, but basically this isn't the season for us to win the Super Bowl. But if you go in and you win again at home or at, you know, a way against Houston, you win at home against the Patriots, you then beat up, which now looks like one of the worst teams in football. the Titans at the time whose coach is wearing Peyton Manning jerseys in public yeah some sort of dare better charity whatever it doesn't matter that's their team they got their own woes you know I just think that's the hard part is that we our expectation level as jet fans as fans went from you know small expectation to a big expectation because we thought we were on this track to knock it out of the park. Not to say we can't still knock it out of the park, but shake the magic of eight ball and look at it as prospect doesn't look good. We have a rookie head coach who's making rookie head coach mistakes. His time clock management, not so good. And our rookie quarterback is showing moments of brilliance and moments of absolut- And I think we expected that, but when we had 3-0 start, we kind of thought, well, you know, maybe we're not. And the other thing, just the last thing to say about this game, and then we'll pick our full and play of the game, is that I'm noticing that our defense, while good and while can certainly shut down an offense, although no one would say this is a great offense, I just don't think it has that killer instinct yet. You said it would show up week five. I don't think it has shown up. It doesn't have the killer instinct. Like, you talk about the Baltimore Ravens defense, you talk about the Pittsburgh. The difference is, whenever they got a chance to take the ball away, they did. They never left the chance on the ground. They never didn't intercept it. always intercept it and when they intercept it, they would take it to the house. Like, and our game, our team, our defense is, while good and while consistently good, isn't turning those over, isn't creating the turnovers, isn't really, you know, flying it the other way, isn't really sacking the quarterback for huge losses, isn't stripping the guy, isn't... you know making three-four interceptions a game it's one here none we've done against miami we've won this game so you know it's not the it's not the killer instinct defense that i hope we get either this year or next year uh... and that what really defines a great defense defense that
01 Justin: You know, I mean, our defense hasn't scored yet. Baltimore defense scores all the time. That's like their thing. They score. And you give seven points to the other side, and that's a good thing. So anyway, that's sort of my, you know, look at this, look through the crystal ball. But give me your, let's make it quick. Give me your full, give me your play and full of the game in rapid fire sequence. Papau! Jake: Uhh... my... Play of the game is the interception by Dwight Lowry. Good play. Again, I was kind of behind the goal post and could see this from that coach's view, right behind the field. And he made a really good play on the ball, so that's going to be my play of the game. It really should have won us the game. I mean, there was a botched... a botched, you know, player, a pick down there, whatever happened at the end of the game, it's all a blur at this point. But that pick by Dwight Lowry should have flipped the game around in it, and it unfortunately didn't. My fool of the game, I'll just, since I'm going first, I'll take Sanchez. Justin: Yeah, that's probably a good one. You know, I'm actually struggling to find a play of the game that I like. I'm thinking... Jake: I mean, there were tons of games. I can name other plays, you know, the Thomas Jones Long Run, the other Thomas Jones Long Justin: Run, you know, we had a couple long runs, you know? Yeah, those are good. Those are good. I was thinking more passing because I was trying to find some. the positives but you're right that the two was put into place cuz um... you know this too long runs were really exciting uh... both of them had nice blocks at the end uh... sadly both of them he couldn't get the end zone uh... no one of them he did did he get called out right the end no you had a seventy one yard um... we got all the way alright well then they're giving that the play of the game see i've really tried to forget this game you really did i i sort of did too it shows you that i didn't actually go back and rewatch the uh... the uh... the recap of the chain for uh... sometimes it's just it's just painful and then for uh... you know i'm going to give it to edwards i'm gonna get you know he was not catching balls and when he was not not to or when he was not catching them He was tipping them. And there's, and you know, if you're not gonna catch it, don't make it so anybody else in the field can catch it. Just don't catch it. And, you know, two of those plays, two of the interceptions, as I recall, were tips that you know, help a guy out. I know they're not on the same page yet. He played so well, but he only had three catches. He was the only guy out there. We didn't have Khatri out there. So I'm hoping that all that, you know, gets fixed up this week and we get Khatri back. back. Although we've got some of the worst things all happening on this week. We'll talk about that in a bit. So let's talk about that was the game that was...
00 Jake: You know what I noticed about Edwards while we're on Edwards? Sure. His timing's a little off. Not with Sanchez, but jumping. Like he was jumping too early. Yep. For things. And that's why he was like... Tipping them as he was right up in the air and coming down when he should be at the peak of his jump It was weird. I don't know why he was doing that. I Justin: We told I totally agree. I don't know was it the wind it was taking the ball maybe yeah Jake: Maybe the ball just wasn't traveling the way thought he was Justin: So uh, so that was the game that was and but Tio fucking sucks. Fuck you Tio Yeah, he does and there was a lot of T.O. sucks Let's talk a second cuz this has been a big there's been two big controversies over the week That kind of hit the fan the fan level While you've been watching the Yankees one is the concept of the same old jets Jake: There's been two I said it I got question for it Justin: Yeah, you know it's it's tough one because part of you wants to say it's it's like a self and self Fulfilling fantasy or prophecy. It's like yes You always just if it will not fancy if you always think that you're gonna do badly then it just gives you that ability to Say, oh, well same old jets and go cry in your beer You know, I like Rex Ryan's response in that hey listen We're that's what that's what we're here to change I feel like that most teams that are that that aren't winning Super Bowls every other couple years like the Steelers and the Patriots Giants maybe. I don't think that they have that feeling because there is no same old. The same old is that they've won, they just look back and think, oh, well, we won the Super Bowl three years ago or two or five or ten. And they go, oh, that feels good. I think Eagles fans, Arizona fans, Cleveland fans, Bengal fans, and I think the fans that have been kept out of the Super Bowl either forever or for a while, I think there is that same old whatever. Insert your team here. So I'm not going to give it so much. Yeah, if you beat writers want to fight about it, go ahead. The other thing was the booing. I don't like booing. You know, it's interesting because I'm at the game, I don't like the booing. I will say I have booed in the past. I remember booing when there's a, not defensive, but offensive calls by Hackett. There's some offensive calls by Hackett that when you know. Jake: Oh yeah, if you're booing Hackett, I mean if you're booing a coach, that is okay. Well see, that's the thing. Justin: And so there's been a couple of debates, you know, in the interwebs about the booing and. You know, how dare you boo a rookie quarterback. He's just trying. Or how dare you do it. And here's what I'll say. You can't pick who you're booing. You might be booing the call. You might be booing the offense. You might be booing the execution of the call. There's 11 guys on the field. There's a bunch on the other side. like And you don't know what 40,000 people are booing. They might be booing one thing or another. So to say, I can't believe the fans are booing X, is kind of narrow-sighted, because you
00 Justin: don't know what they're booing. I know when I'm angry, I might be angry. Sometimes I'm angry at the quarterback. Sometimes I'm angry at the play call. It's not the quarterback, it's the play call. Why are we going forward on blah? Or why did the defense line up like that? And I think the other thing to think about it and I think there's a point at which you can say, you know, I think we have a right to express ourselves. That's what makes us fans. That's what makes us fanatical. We are into it. We're involved in the team. It's not, it's not, we're not dispassionate, right? It is something that we take into our hearts. And so just like, you know, anything, if you really care that much, it hurts you when they make a bad play or whatever. And the other thing is, people have been talking about, well, the Stewart fans don't boo, and the boo-boo-boo fans, bullshit. Every fan base boos talked to a Stewart fan today, talked about how they booed the shit out of Raffensperger the first year when he was making mistakes. And that's it. People boo. Every fan base boos. Yeah. the only way to stop the boost start the winning uh... and that that's that's my last and the boots was terrible last week how do we do how do you do Jake: uh... better than you Justin: yeah by one game so you went eight eight and i went uh... seven seven that'll happen you know pretty shitty Jake: you know you'll have some shitty weeks but i will be you uh... most of the time if not every week i think three weeks in a row you are Justin: being too bad you didn't start from the beginning because it really is a little Jake: kind of too bad that i didn't start next season not only will take on Justin: you and i will take each other on we will take on the fans we're taking on the universe we will well we might yeah i think we should already so let's pick this minions let's get deep down and dirty let's pick this week We're going to pick, just for all you just tuning in, we always pick all the games now. We pick the regular. We always now do this. Yeah, now. And the second. We always pick the non-AFCE games first, and then we talk about the AFCs games in depth, and we actually give scores. So let's go for the non-AFCE games to start. Let me hear what you think about the Colts. at St. Louis. Jake: Umm, if you're still alive in your survivor pool and you haven't chosen the Colts yet, this week wouldn't be a bad one. Totally agree. Justin: And if you need to put in someone who's going to score 20 touchdowns, Colts off a bye, that is a slaughter. Although, weirder things have happened, but I still call it a slaughter. Chargers off a big Monday night loss against the KC in Kansas City.
03 Justin: Yeah, big division game. I'm going to pick Kansas City at home coming off of a victory. You know, San Diego, I think, is going to have a big hangover from that game on Monday. That was brutal. all. they lost another division there there they're in trouble and only get worse i think casey could do it a outback i trust in trust and Jake: parallels to what the jets went through shortens by ami on monday night and plan uh... you know that is not a lot of spoke once you know i like it they are well you didn't get it but whatever One over your head. Justin: Yeah, well they're not on the roads. It's kind of different. If we were on the road, they wouldn't pack. But never mind. Vikings, the Fauvre, the undefeated Fauvre. The 6-0 Farrve. It goes to the kind of floundering but doing okay Pittsburgh Steelers. With Palomalu back. Farrve throws to picks. Pittsburgh wins. Totally great. Pittsburgh at home is too good to not win this. I think this is Minnesota's first loss and let me talk. Next week they go on to Monday night to Green Bay. That's awesome. So that's kind of, you could see maybe two ooses, two osses there. We'll see what happens. Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals. Cedric Benson runs all over the Bears since he wins. Dubbears, no, I think Cutler and the Bears get this one done and the Bears win. I think Cincinnati is not as good as purported or reported. 49ers at Houston. I like the Niners on this game for some reason. Jake: Don't know why. Justin: Yeah, I like Houston. Houston's a good home team. They play well at home. I don't think they lose this game. San Francisco's had trouble on the road. I'm calling Houston for the game Packers hit the road and go to Cleveland, Ohio to take on one of the worst teams in football Yeah, that's why I'm gonna pick Green Bay. Yeah, Green Bay wins Let's go for the Saints No, let's go for the Falcons go into Dallas. My Falcons dirty birds your Falcons. My Falcons Jake: my Falcons, I'm going to take them over Dallas, Justin: because Dallas is not that good. Dallas is coming off a bye at home. Yeah, I don't think the Falcons will win. Again, I don't think Falcons are a good road team. We disagree there. Yeah, I know. We have more than a few. Cardinals, this is a tough one. This is a Sunday night game. This is a great game. Go to, yeah, this is actually a game I'm excited to watch. Cardinals go to New York, Sydney, and take on the New York Giants. In the Netherlands. Yeah, Giants are off a big loss down against the Saints, and the Cardinals just went up to Seattle and beat Jesus out of them. Yeah, after Seattle had a good week. Which is I know Seattle beats this crap out of Jacksonville like 41 zero then they get their ass kicked and they know what's gonna happen Jake: So, what do you think? I think the Giants don't lose two in a row this year. So I'll take
05 Justin: Yeah, Giants at home Sunday night. I think they're gonna win. I think they'll have trouble troubles though But I think it's gonna be one of those weather situations that curve Warner's not gonna be comfortable throwing And Cardinals lost all their regular season games on the East Coast last year, including as the Jets, where we threw six touchdowns against them. And then the Monday nights match up, really crappy. Stinker. Yeah, Stinker in the Pinker. It's the eagle. Explicit match. Yeah. Yeah. uh... philadelphia eagles head to washington in a game that nobody will Jake: tune in to watch uh... i believe washington handed the play calling duties over to a man who is calling bingo three weeks ago in a retirement center taking it away from jim zorn uh... sherman i believe is his name something sherman or sherman something uh... it i know he was a good coach back in the day but you can't just come up column plays like two weeks after calling bingo so i'll take the uh... eagles Justin: yet you have a huge loss against the raiders uh... which will probably add these uh... i do not think that they lose again although two road games in a row but don't think it was again uh... I'll take the Eagles now onto the AFC East. The big boys. We got some, we got four match ups here so let's start at the top. New England Patriots off a, under destruction of the Titans, some would say a less than classy move and totally running up this floor. I don't mind that at all. against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I don't mind that at all. Jake: No, this is not in Tampa Bay my friend. This is actually Justin: in the UK somewhere. Oh that's right! This is the London game! This is the London game Jake: and London's going to be treated to an ass-spanking. New England's going to kill Tampa Bay in this game. Justin: Wow, yeah, Sunday. Jake: I mean, Tampa's not going to be able to, like, organize themselves to fly over there and play football. No chance. Justin: Yeah, I mean, the only thing I can think of is this is like one of those. You know, I think two years ago, when the Dolphins were 1 and 15, they went up against the Giants. And this is when the Giants won the Super Bowl. all. And I remember it was raining, it was Wimbledon, and it was just a muck. But I remember the game was really close. So I don't see this as a big, like a huge blowout. I think sort of the London and the fish and chips might keep it even. Or close, it won't be a, I don't think it'll be an absolutely total big blowout. I'm going to call it 31. 21. Oh, you know what? I didn't give a score. Did I? I know. Nope. Should I give one now? Yes, you should. Okay.
01 Justin: 52... 7. There's no reason to think that they can't do that. Buffalo Bills at Carolina. See, this is one of those games... What a stinker! Another stinker. I think it's another one of those games that'll probably be blacked out. I think Carolina... I can't imagine this game selling out to everyone. Raiders and whatever. So... They're garbage. I mean... Jake: Both these teams stink, both quarterback situations are dire. I'll just take Carolina because they're home and Buffalo just won a game. So I'll take Carolina. Can I get a score please? Yeah, why not? It's not going to be very high. Justin: 10-6. Yeah, I mean, Buffalo, although coming away with a good win... Again, they got five turnovers and still were only scored in one touchdown. I think Carolina will win this game only from the home field. But I'm going to call a weird score of Buffalo 15, Carolina 17. Then we have the New Orleans Saints. Jake: Wait, with 15, do you think they're going to kick five field goals? Yes. OK. Justin: New Orleans Saints, or maybe a safety, in there somewhere. New Orleans Saints at the undefeated New Orleans Saints at the just off a by two and three Miami Dolphins Saints are looking good. Saints are looking great. They're beating some good teams. They're beating some very good teams. What do you think? Jake: I think that they're gonna continue to be undefeated because they're they're really a little too much right now, a little hard to handle. And it's an interesting coaching matchup because these guys are from the same kind of coaching tree. Right? Peyton isn't he a Parcel guy as well? I believe he is. So it's going to be an interesting matchup, but I think New Orleans at this point has... the balance to kind of beat anybody. They just proved it by beating the Giants and Miami's just not that good. So I'll take New Orleans to beat Miami. They're gonna be able to score on them. So 38-16. Justin: Wow, you know, I think there's a lesson we learned in our game and even the Colts game and the other games that the Miami has played. They actually don't get beaten down. I think the Falcons beat them pretty badly. But since then, they've done a good job. Your Falcons. I think since then they've done a pretty good job of keeping it close. I don't think they're going to win the game. It's kind of hard to pick against the saints. uh... but i think this week was then most people think it will be and if i a you know i think i picked on both sides of the picnic miami with the spread uh... but i'm gonna call it thirty three twenty seven uh... so i think they'll be within spittin distance is there a score that
02 Justin: many points are yeah i think it's very hard to stop that that it takes a long time to get the ball down the field but i think that they enough with the running game. and the wildcat again we learned our lesson I don't think the the normal and saints can be able to stop that so it's just a matter of can they score more and I think they can so I think they'll win should we move on to the game of the week? game of the week okay we have the New York Jets in probably one of the worst situations you could possibly imagine going west against the team that we traditionally lose to no matter how bad they are. Against a team that just came off a win against what they would consider a good team. And at 4 o'clock you basically, oh and we just have a rookie quarterback who came off his probably worst game ever and the head coach who probably came off his worst game ever. Um, this is not looking good. This is not a good situation. I have... I... yes, the Jets will win, but this is gonna be a brutal game. This is not gonna be a fun game. Oh, I disagree. You disagree that this is gonna be a good game? Oh, this is gonna be a great game. Because who's gonna win? Jake: Oh, the Jets are gonna really win this game. Uh, Sanchez coming off of his worst game as a professional to date. Justin: is going back to Cali. Yeah, that was his one thing I actually and I tweeted that today. It's the one positive thing about this game. Jake: He's gonna show up. I have a... we're gonna find out a thing or two about him. If he comes out and plays really well in this game... you're gonna see good things from him because it shows that showmanship that uh that thing that that that that in yeah the thing that you can't really describe that you're going back to sort of you know where you were praised and loved you know even though it's san francisco it's not the same thing as southern california we know that but it's still california uh... wait how it is playing tennessee school well they play earth siree oakland in the bay area my best uh... and sorry oakland uh... anyway that i i think he's gonna show up and i think that that the defense is gonna rally around the fact that they lost chris jenkins and do something, you know, hopefully they do something creative with it. You know, Sionipu is gonna have to step up and play a little bit more. And I think that Oakland is just a really bad team. And they beat Philly, but they really only scored 13 points. I mean, their quarterback is worse than Mark Sanchez. No doubt about it. So we're gonna throw things at him that he's never seen before either.
02 Jake: Granted, their defense is pretty good too. It's proved that, that their defense really isn't that bad. But their offense is just so inept that it puts their defense in terrible situations. I think the Jets are gonna actually win this game pretty easily. 24-7. Justin: Yeah, I'm glad you have such high hopes. I do. I'm optimistic. I'm optimistic we will win this game, but I don't like... The only things I like about this game is that the Southern boy returns home, or the Southern California boy returns back to Cali. That's the only thing I like about this game. Everything else is just no jank jank. West Coast 4 o'clock against the Raiders. A team that just won. We just sucked ass. There's nothing I like about this game. Other than that, I do think we'll win. I think it'll be brutal. I think they will bring a running game like you've never seen to this game, but it will not lead to a lot of points. I'm going to call it 13-12. That's when. 13 12 13 12 13 12 that's the way I feel about this game 13 12 Jets win but wow when a win is a win baby that's yeah I'll take it yeah I'll take the win alright so that was that was the picks now it's we have one tweet a tweet from the tweet a fear Asking a question Kerry Rhodes has been kind of quiet this yes, I would suggest that all the jet players shut up Jake: Yeah, just win that and you come back. We love you on on on the Twitter Kerry, but you don't have to tweet every day or You could tweet once a day. That's cool Justin: Yeah, or when you're, you know, again, when I see Ocho Cinco flying to every Sunday night game or Monday night game, I'm like, if you ever drop a pass during a regular game, I'm thinking, why aren't you out practicing instead of flying around the country? Jake: What do you mean man, you're just watching video on his iPhone? Justin: Yeah, don't like it. Alright, so from a, now a current fan, thehund74 asks, um, Jet Kingdom? Yes. Um, question mark? for new podcast now that the Jets had that awful lost last week what does Rex need to do to turn this team around you wanna take that or me? I'll start I mean I think I think first of all, you got to go back to what got you here. The ground and pound was working for you against the Buffalo Bills. I think it will work for you against the... What can you bring on the road? What are good things to bring on the road with you? A running game and a good defense. So go back to that. Get your defense hyped up. Get your running game going. Help out your quarterback. back. don't put him into situations where he has to wing it around.
02 Justin: You know, I think they, you know, there's been talk of sitting him or whatever, don't. Let him have a good game, but take some of the pressure off of him. And I think, you know, in some ways he's got to rally the troops. He's had, it's not one loss. I mean, one loss is one loss, two losses is two. This is three losses. And three bad losses, let's not remember. We got destroyed down at the Saints, just got out of control very quickly because of picks. Then we go a Monday night and get the thing taken away from us in the last, whatever, seven seconds of the game. And then we lose in overtime. So if you look at that progression, it's gotten worse. So this team is probably pretty down. I would say, if I'm Rex Ryan, I say go in there, say, OK, guys. We gotta bring it back to fun football, take the pressure off, and let's do what we do well and let's leave everything else at home. Let's leave the crap, let's leave the bullshit, let's leave the media, let's leave the blogosphere, the tweet, whatever. Let's go on and do what we do well, which is play good jet football, let's play good defense, let's run the ball, and let's put Sanchez in a situation that he can make the play to win the game. Thoughts? Jake: I don't think he... yeah, I mean from a strategy standpoint, I don't really think he needs to do too much I think he needs to just do a little bit of what you said a little raw raw cheerleader stuff I don't... I mean maybe a little tinkering on the offense To get to get Leon some more touches. I would like to see him touch the ball a little bit more. I'd like to see what we have in Sean Green. If we have something there, I'd like to see it. And you know, three running backs can play. It worked in Baltimore last year. It works in other places. You can play with three, especially if they all have unique talents. Leon definitely has some unique talents. The other thing I wouldn't mind seeing little bit a little bit more of is is actually I Haven't noticed the aggression on the defense meaning. I'd like to see more sacks Justin: Yeah, I'd like to see more wins. I'd like to see more wins. Yeah Yeah, that's what you can do.
