20 Justin: Crash your enemies. See them proven before you in a yellow lamentation of the women. Jake: Well, welcome to Jet Kingdom Podcast. As always, on this side of the Monday hangover, although it's Thursday, digital aisle, it's Jake. I'm feeling better, I must say, a few beers are me. And joining me across the the aisle not of marriage but of digital is the good is my good buddy just in Justin: justin how you do i just gave you a odd face across the digital aisle like what the fuck are you talking about face it's been a tough it's been a tough yeah yeah you were you were down in Miami for the wrath so you really must have felt like shit. Jake: So we have a- Being there. I did thanks. Thanks I appreciate it. We have a big agenda so let's just lay it out there in the line. We're going to talk about the Jets versus Dolphins. and all things Braylon Edwards. Talk about the play of the game. Give us the full of the game, of course. Talk about the thrown picks, how we did last week, both over the NFL and the AFC East. Then we'll go on to pick this week's week, this week's pick, week six. And then specifically talk about Tennessee at New England and Buffalo at New York Jets. uh... we have a question from the twitter verse for you mister edelstein uh... talk about the polls up on jet kingdom and then we'll wrap it up so uh... but let's get to the big stuff first i mean uh... you know as we were kinda talking before the show here uh... if you want to call this a show uh... you know the big news before the Let's talk about the big news before the game and then we'll go right into the game. The big news before the game was that the Jets traded away, in one of these trades that only God himself can figure out, they traded away a third and a fifth in next year's draft, a third that can go to two, and Chancy Stuckey and Jason Pozniak. truss deck, a special teams player, actually one special teams player of the day, month, year, whatever. Um, to our buddies, our trading partner, our East India trading company of Cleveland, Ohio, uh, in Eric Manjini for one, uh, Braille and Edwards, um, which happened actually after the day after the podcast.
00 Jake: So we didn't get a chance to talk about it. It's clear, it's clear one thing to me. Well let's talk about it in terms of before the game. What were your thoughts before the game? Justin: Well yeah, I mean, only one thing came to my mind. The Jets clearly listened to this podcast. Because Jansy Stucky was my fool of the week last week for not being there and not showing up as a real big time receiver across from Kautry and clearly. the Jets listened to this podcast and decided to do something about it. I like it. I like it. That that much was obvious to me. Aside from that, really obvious. I thought it was a great move. We bring in a receiver with tons of talent. Big, big, meaning. This is the guy that is gonna finally rep- I'm using air quotes, digital at once, uh, is gonna replace Kishon. Is that big guy that we haven't had for a while? Um, and he reminds me a whole lot of Plaxco Burris. in the way that he is tall, fast, could go deep, could go over the middle, has long arms, and is sort of a question mark. Just like Plexico, even before he came to the Giants, he had attitude issues. And whatnot and that manifested itself into going to jail so you know Good good analogy. I really like the well anyway He's still Talent-wise reminds me of him. I know he drops the ball up, and he's exactly what our young rookie quarterback needed a big target that he can just throw the ball up to and we saw that happen a couple times in the game already after only practicing together Jake: like what two three days yeah a couple things really stood out about this this and again I can we have kind of a different perspective now having seen him in a game and We'll talk about that game in a second, but clearly, Brando, it comes across with a whole bunch of baggage. There's been a lot of knocks on him that he drops balls and drops more than most should, and that he's been involved in off-the-field scuffles and things like that. That was kind of interesting. I think this is the thing. Justin: You know, you know, if I can call you right there, the drop thing, I wonder. if the drop thing is a stat that's sort of taken out of context and here's what i mean how many times was he thrown the ball we never hear that Jake: so here's but if he drops if he's thrown it once and he drops it once who cares Justin: no what i'm saying is what i'm saying is that he had like thirty drops over the
00 Justin: course of two or three years or something like that yeah Alright. What if I... he was thrown the ball 320 times over the course of three years so he dropped the ball 30 times as opposed to uh joe schmoe on dallas who dropped the ball four times over the last three years but was only thrown the ball 90 times you know what i mean so it it could i know he drops the ball fine yeah yeah a little bit misguided because he's the he was the only receiver on cleveland Jake: It doesn't matter if you're the only receiver, you still can't drop the ball. Again, I'm not saying that that's his thing. Again, there are certainly cases over and over and over again of where a player who has started with a team and he's picked 3, 3rd overall in Cleveland, he's 26 years old, He's 6'3", 215. He's the prototypical big receiver. But I think it says a lot about a couple things about this team. One is we needed the receiver and we were waiting for the right time. I give them that. I think also this says this isn't a year to take it off. We got off to a good start and we're faltering now, but we got off to a good start. and I think the team kind of realized, listen, yeah, maybe if we were one in four. You know, we're not gonna trade away. We'll wait and get our guy later, but I think they said hey listen We actually have a chance we're still leading the AFC East even before this Miami game and even after it You know, we have a chance to really do something here, but we need something and the Saints game proved it You know, they're stacked in the box. They don't have there. There's no one to throw to they'll take away country And also country was hurt right so he had this you know, he played but he's playing hurt So, you take away our number one receiver, you make him hurt, and we don't have a lot of 2's and 3's and no big guys. Again, it's a wait and see on this guy. But let's get right into the game because I think that's where it kind of proves a lot of what the value is there. And this guy's 26. And if he... Thank you so much, Tom. Justin: Do you know who proves you don't need a number one receiver? Jake: They don't have a number one receiver. Well, that's true. You need two number one backs and then you have an over. Yeah, that's what they have. Justin: They have two really good running backs. They do. They have two number one backs. Jake: They have a back picked first overall and then a back picked second overall. No, no, no. Justin: Neither of them guys were picked first overall. Ronnie Brown was picked second overall. Ricky was like, sniff, sniff. Jake: Okay, second and fifth. The point is, they got two backs who are... Yeah, those guys are real, dude. But anyway, let's talk about the game. So I was down there, I was lucky enough to get on the field, I was tweeting, for those of you who follow me on Twitter, JackKingdom.com. Um, or sorry, not JackKingdom, I had JackKingdom. Uh, I was tweeting some pics, and then until the stadium filled up, and then I couldn't...
01 Jake: I do actually have some really good picks I took with a better camera so I'll try to put those up on Jet Kingdom. And it was fascinating, it was great to be on the field. Just so much fun just hanging out like close to the players, seeing them warm up, awesome experience. And then I got to go up into the stadium and watch this game. But first, give me some of your thoughts on the game and what you thought. Justin: you Um, I was so pumped for Monday Night Football. I think a lot of people were like, there were a lot of people going nuts like on, on, on out there on Twitter and just people going crazy. Oh, the Jets are playing the Dolphins. You were down there parties. Like I could not wait. I had to go out and do something. I had to go make chili all day. I had to like... I composed myself and do something Cuz cuz we had the day off obviously for Columbus Day for all those lucky enough to have the day off anyway The defense come on guys Dah, how did they lose this a game that wasn't wow? Jake: That's some deep thoughts on the game. Okay, why don't we talk about the game a little bit? I think going into this game, I had I basically thought this was going to be a game about two really good defenses and exposing two rookie quarterbacks and how those two rookie quarterbacks, which one struggled the most with this game? It was so the opposite. It was absolutely dead on wrong. This game was about two rookie quarterbacks who looked really good and two defenses that basically just couldn't stop either side of the ball. I think there was three or four or five, again, of being there because you lose perspective of actually what happened. Point changes, score changes, lead changes. It was happening at a high pace. And, you know, it came down to a game of, you know... It basically came down to the last drive, which we could have stopped them in any number of drives and won the game. The last drive we had stopped them, we would have won the game. There are some chances of why didn't there was more timeouts taken, why did they leave us only 6 seconds left to go. Yeah, I didn't get that. Why do you end the game with two timeouts in your pocket? You don't, you don't. And I think he said in his conference, Rex Ryan said, well, basically I thought we would stop them. And I think this is, if we're going to give lessons all around. In the Saints game... huge lesson from Marc Sanchez. He took that lesson and he went back and he was much better. He was not looking down with severs. He was spending his time. He was working his pocket much better. No turnover. For either team. He learned a lesson. Here's a lesson from Rex Ryan that he needs to go learn. First of all, don't be cocky. Don't think this is ... and he said it a couple times now. It's a trick play. It's a college thing. We need
03 Jake: We need to, you know, we need to... You know all you have to do is stop the run, you just play your gaps and no no no no. If anything this game proves the Wildcat is going to be a big part of the NFL going forward. Meaning people are going to use it and the dolphins are going to be successful with it. Justin: The funny thing about it is that it's not anything like new, it's what football was like 60 years ago. Right, but it's also... It's not like new and fresh, it's old. Jake: But he didn't prepare the defense to do that. He didn't prepare them to fight that thing. That's stupid, that's ridiculous. I mean, that's what the dolphins do. He was too cocky. He thought he could just shut down his good defense. You know, and that difference just got exposed. We got exposed all over the place. Exposed on screen passes, exposed on the Wildcat, exposed deep down the field. I mean, how is Chad Henney, you know, throwing deep bombs to Ted Jyn Jr. with three guys on him, you know, beating them. You just, that stuff shouldn't happen. Justin: So, I'll see you again, Pete. Dorell Reavis nobody else I know beaten him this year and he beat him Jake: I know and I don't was this cockiness was this conditioning is what I've been talking about I mean that I was it was hot down there even at night. It was 90 something degrees was it heat I don't know all I know is While we learned in the rookie game, in the Saints game, that we have a rookie on our quarterback, I think we learned in this game, we have a rookie head coach. And he's going to make the mistakes. I'm not saying I'm loving it, but he's going to make these mistakes. I mean, that was, he didn't coach that game well. Sorry, you didn't coach the defense well, and you didn't coach the end of the game well. you didn't do it and you lost to a team that actually is playing much better than they look like they're playing, much better than their record says but yeah, I just, that's it. But let's take some positives. I think Sanchez came back and the big positives which we're just talking about I mean we have a receiver dude. That guy is unbelievable. He was making catches. He's been on that staff for what, four days? He was making catches that I haven't seen since either Wayne Kerbet or I just don't know. I mean, he was making circus catches and huge plays. And I mean, Braylon Edwards, my hat's off to you. You play half that way for the rest of the season and we are in a very, very good position. Thank you for your attention. I mean, did you have any thoughts about Branelyne in his first game? Justin: Yeah, it already looked really good for only being there for a couple days. I mean, he couldn't ask for much more. He caught a couple big catches. He draw a huge, which doesn't show up in the stats, like a 50-yard... Uh... Into pass interference which really wasn't much of a pass interference
02 Justin: Guy was holding his arm a little bit Just watch today, and I mean he did touch it Jake: Yeah, a little little cheeky, but he held this he held his arm as he came up to try to catch Yeah again in Slow-mo he held his arm is starting to come up to try to catch it and the guys holding his arm from coming Justin: Let me tell you if they called that on Rebus covering Ted Ginn I'd fucking throw something at the television. So let's put it that way. He should have caught that ball. Either way, it was like a 50 yard gain down the field that kind of goes not on the stat sheet as a catch, but as, you know, a touchdown. So so so that was great. The catch on the sideline was fantastic. I thought that was a touchdown, too. I don't know why that wasn't ruled. as a touchdown, but whatever. Jake: Yeah, I mean this guy could have had three touchdowns in that game. Justin: Yeah, and he caught the touchdown in his first catch. So, I mean, that was pretty cool. So, all in all, a nice game, and when Kachri gets healthy, hopefully they'll have a really nice now mix, and maybe we'll open up the field a little bit for... Dustin Keller who's been a little disappointing if you ask me. Yeah, I thought we would have a really nice connection there, but maybe this will open the field a little bit for that to happen and maybe get the running game going a little bit. So, we shall see. It's definitely an upgrade over Chancey Stucky out there. Jake: Yeah, Dancy Dustin Keller is Someone who I think is probably suffering a little bit from from Sanchez is being a little gun-shy Right. He's thrown in that Saints game He threw a lot of picks and I think he's now throwing the balls that you know Are clearly either the receivers gonna get it or no one's getting it that shot to clown He actually down the field, you know, that was either it was clowny or no, that's a nice catch. Nice throw to house Yeah, beautiful. I mean, again, I would again if you're gonna take away positives, Mark Sanchez looked really good. The passing game looked good, did what they had to do. And then if you want to take another positive, you know, the special team stuff was unbelievable. You know, two fake puns. Yeah, that was pretty crazy. And it's great. It keeps, I think it really keeps the team guessing. I don't know if the first one was planned. Justin: I don't know, it kind of looked like a... muff a little bit that he just saw an opening and decided instead of trying to kick it, he would just run. The second one clearly was a fake punt and worked out. I do like that, I mean, you have to put a little bit of... a little bit of a pause when when giving the offense a lot of credit by saying that they did have two drives extended by
01 Jake: Fake punts so right well, you know they get what they get Anyway, I I totally agree. That was you know bad loss bad loss Really sour taste in my mouth if I I mean being down there and being at the game and being surrounded by it I will say, Dolphin fans, I give it up to you. You guys showed up to that game. That game was loud. You guys were on it. To the Dolphin Stadium, Landshark Stadium, Slash would sell out stadium. I cannot believe just how many. I mean, every time they scored, they did dance to the left, dance to the right. I'm like, seriously? And then the national anthem, the whole thing was a big sellout. I was about to ask you about that. It seemed a little Hollywood to me. What was this? What was going on down there? I mean, there's a couple of things. First of all, it was the kick off of NFLs. Hispanic heritage or whatever. So there was certainly that sense of like, you know, celebrities. But I think this is what they try to do with the Dolphins team now is turn it into a celebrity sighting. I mean, sitting on the sidelines at the beginning, they're showing basically the red carpet as people came in. like. fan as these big celebrities on big slivers but as celebrities came into the game Gloria Estevan and and Mark and and Mark Anthony and JLo as they came in they literally stopped and talked to them like like the red carpet I was like again, it just it all seemed very not a football game and and and when and when the theme song that they play after a touchdown is the song that's made by the guy who built the beer who's been steams named after it's like i don't know it just it it it bugged me now maybe if but because we're losing a maybe but because i don't like the dolphins or whatever but it seemed like a big sellout from start to finish and uh... i i i i don't know we'll see me in the army cv built and we might be you know doing uh... You know. Miller cans up or something but it just it the whole thing was like based around it being more about the sponsors and that our new sponsor Miller yeah we have a new sponsor every show anyway so why don't you always let's get out of this game by giving the fuck out of this game all right that's why we're asking Give me your play of the game and your full of the game. Double it up. Double it up together. Double it up together. To get out of here. My play of the game was Brelyn Edwards' sideline catch. Justin: The one that was ruled a touchdown and then overturned incorrectly. But that's my play of the game because last week I did it wrong. When we lost, I picked a bad play. And I'm just gonna pick that play in this game.
03 Justin: And my fool, again, I'm gonna throw some caution out there, because last week my fool was stuck in. He's now not a jet anymore. So I'll throw it. you I want to say Rex Ryan, but I'm going to pick a player and go ahead and pick another guy who's been sort of invisible this year, Sean Ellis. Where is this guy? Like, where is he? I don't get it. They ran all over us. And that you know that every team is going to concentrate as much energy as they can on moving Jenkins where they have to move him. And runners are going to try and run not near him. So where is... Ellis, where is this guy? Is he too old? Is he done? Like, what is going on? He's... I don't know if he's made a play this year. So that's my fool. I'm just mad. It's general mad at the defense for getting run over like wusses and being Jake: like beaten by the fourth quarter by a running game. I agree. That's a good fool. I sure like it. My play of the game would be I'm gonna give it to the the second fake punt, which is actually a real fun. It was a direct snap right to Brad Smith and I just rewatched it. What I really like about it is it wasn't easy. That guy had to break three tackles to get through that line to pick up the yardage. I liked that. That was ballsy. Even if the first one wasn't intentional, to do it again, that's ballsy. And I liked that he picked it up. I'm giving, I think, Brad Smith great. . i give you the play the game and fully game sorry gotta go right to the top uh... gotta give it to direct uh... he did not have his players ready for this game i think there's a lot of bravado you know there's been a lot of twitter talk mean apparently carry roads is not that's where anymore because he's gonna focus on the ganja you know i but that he's he said it is that Justin: Then he went back on it. Jake: Okay, of course. But I think the point is that, you know, there became a little bit too much bravado or a little bit too much we're the best defenses, we're the best defense that. And we were showed up, right? We were, I think one of the quotes was, we were given a little bit of shut up in that game. And, you know, we were. And so. I'm hoping that just like Sanchez learned from his Saints game that Rex Ryan learns from this game and learns that you can't Don't be calling things college trick plays and not respecting them respect the wild caps Respect the offense you're going up no matter what they do and plan for it And so, you know, I'll give him the fool of the game. Hopefully he can bounce back like Sanchez did Alright, let's go on and do some of our thrown picks go over what we said last week. So how'd you do pretty well?
00 Jake: You did do pretty well actually. You went 11 for... I did good. I went, I think it was 11 and 3. 11 for 3. Yeah. 11 and 3 is pretty... pretty... pretty good. What did you get wrong? I don't know. I think I know what I got wrong. Yeah, I went 9 for 5, which is okay. That's a good 64.9%. I did not see that Cincy would beat Baltimore. Oh, you know what? I didn't get that one either. I did not see Atlanta beating San Francisco at home. I did. My Falcons. I did not see Arizona beating Houston. I don't know why. I did not see Denver beating New England. My Denver Broncos. By the way, Justin: I picked the entire AFC East correct except for the Jets game. And I did not see Miami Dolphins. So those are the five I didn't see. Yeah, I had Denver winning and I had Cleveland beating Buffalo. I don't think. I don't know if you had that one. Yeah. Jake: Off way off. I was off on the Buffalo game. I actually I was wrong on the Buffalo game. Wrong on the wrong on the New York, the New England game and wrong on the Jets game. Justin: Yeah, you were way off in the AFC East. Jake: On to bigger and better things. Six as we do every week. We pick the next week. So if you're just joining us recently, we've expanded, exploded the Jet Kingdom thrown picks from just picking the AFC East to picking the entire thing. And then we are going to talk about, we'll talk about them sort of quick in, quick out for the thrown picks. Week six and then we'll hit the actually only two AFC East games because we got a matchup and then one of them The dolphins have a bye We'll talk about those in depth and actually pick scores. So let's go straight up Justin: Are you ready? There's some good games unlike last week, which was probably the last week ever in NFL history like there was some Jake: Just garbage game raffy just come back any game it ends any games and six three There was six three there was 41 nothing there was There's just garbage last week It's funny cuz you know that obviously the just dollars a great game game Dallas Dallas was a good game and Justin: And then Cincinnati Baltimore game was pretty good was it yeah, that was a good game, or I'm sorry anyway Yeah, that was let's go ready. Yeah, I'm ready for this week. Let's do it Detroit Lions at how did you not pick the pack at home? Jake: Gotta pick the pack Pack at home wins agreed 5-0 New York Giants. This is one of the games of the week New Orleans Saints off a bye also, I think they're four and 0. Yep, they are four and 0.
01 Jake: Undefeated, undefeated. This is a tough one. They're in New Orleans. Justin: New Orleans really tough in the dome. Also had an extra week to prepare for the Giants, but I'm going to just stick with the Giants until they lose. I'm going with the Giants. Jake: Yeah, Giants, their defense is too good not to get to Jubris. They have more sacks, I think, in any one week than we've had all season. They will get to him and they will stop him. It doesn't matter where they play. Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah. Justin: I don't see Cleveland winning two in a row. You know, he was... Derek Anderson was two of 17, and they won the game 6-3. He threw for 20-something yards to two receivers... Oh my god. Gotta pick Pittsburgh. Jake: Yeah, Pittsburgh wins. Cleveland not gonna win. Probably... Two of 17! Justin: Two of 17! Jake: Yeah, he waited two passes and he won the game. Awesome. Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a garbage game. I'm just gonna take Carolina. Carolina is a better team. Tampa sucks. They both suck. Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals. I'm gonna pick Houston here. Justin: I think Cincinnati is a little full of themselves right now. So I'm going to pick Houston. Jake: Yeah, no, I think Cincinnati is coming off a big win, but I like Cincinnati at home. I don't like Houston on the road. I think Houston is one of those teams that suffers on the road. Let's go pick Cincinnati. ken city chiefs at washington redskins another banner of a game clunker uh i'll just pick the Justin: home team washington more pressure on them to win for some reason i don't know i'll take washington Jake: now i'm gonna go to the chiefs chiefs to win i don't like uh jason campbell at all he's gonna those chiefs will win. St. Louis Rams at Jacksonville Jaguars. Justin: The Jaguars just lost 41-0 I think to Seattle in Seattle. I picked Seattle in that game, which is a good pick. I'm gonna go ahead and pick Jacksonville in this game, because St. Louis really stinks and Jacksonville was just embarrassed, so I'll go with them. Jake: Yeah, St. Louis is horrible. The best thing for a really bad team is to beat another really bad team at home. This game will not be, this game will be blocked out or blacked out. As it should be. This game should be blacked out from history. For everybody. But Jacksonville wins. Baltimore Ravens at, and this is a good game. Justin: Really good game. I'm gonna pick Baltimore on the road. in Minnesota because I don't think they're gonna lose three games in a row and I think that their
01 Justin: defense is gonna get to F.A.R.F. like nobody has because they're gonna be able to stop Peterson. Jake: Totally agree. Baltimore wins this game. It's probably it's you know again part of me is just picking against far but in minnesota at the tough tough game i i don't worry about the defense everywhere about flaco he started strong he started a week also get it to him and read stands up this you know comes off the plane stands up and makes a few pics from the opera uh... cardinals at celsi hock's we go to home team Justin: Because they play really well at home. Seattle and Hasselbeck is back. So they look pretty good last week. I'm gonna stick with them Jake: Yeah, this is tough one because Arizona, you know, they're playing inconsistent But they I agree Seattle at home hard to beat no matter how that's one of the it's one of the true Justin: homefield advantages in one of the best ones Jake: True. Seattle wins. Eagles, Philadelphia Eagles at Oakland Raiders. Justin: Oakland is a joke. They are a serious joke. I got the fortune of advanced scouting Oakland this week for the upcoming Jack game by watching them play the Giants. Oh my god, they are just not even a team. They're so bad. like not even funny I am picking Philly Jake: I yes so when Oakland socks I let's go to Chicago at Atlanta I said my father years at Falcon yeah you found out in South Falcons are good home team they win And then Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers on I think Monday night football. Justin: I'm going to pick Denver till they lose. Jake: No, I don't think they win this one. Denver on the road against San Diego. Traditionally don't play very well. San Diego is a good home team. San Diego San Diego wins on Monday night football. And now let's go to the AFCs and hit the two matchups. We have both. We got a Huh? Justin: Not late, which is interesting, because New England is home, Tennessee, and the Jets are hosting Buffalo, both at 4.15, which is weird. Jake: That is odd. Good, good pointing that out. Tennessee at, Tennessee Titans at our 0 and 5 against the 3 and 2 Patriots. Justin: Uh, I don't understand why... Most NFL commentary shows, the Talking Edge shows on television, on the ESPNs and all these other networks are talking about Tennessee and saying that, No, they should just leave Vince Young on the bench. It's not Kerry Collins' fault that they're losing. I don't understand this logic.
01 Justin: Why is the number three overall pick in a draft two or three years ago getting paid tons of money on an 0-5 team now to sit behind a thirty eight seven Uh, his beard is gray, that's all I know. Um, it makes no sense to me. And I think Tennessee's going to just continue to lose, uh, until they change it up and just throw Vince Young out there, see what they have. And, and until that time, I think that they're going to just continue to be in this funk and lose. Uh, so I'm going to pick new England and I'm going to pick them to win kind of big. I think they're often just going to show up. and they're gonna score 38 points and Tennessee's only gonna put up like 13. Jake: Oh wow. Yeah. I mean, you know, the old rule was, remember last week I said, the rule is don't ever pick against the Patriots. Um, the new rule is always pick against the Titans. So yeah, the Titans, a Southern team going up to new England on what will be a crappy, shitty, crappy, tried to eat. day, which we will enjoy at the Buffalo Bills game. You know, 48, rainy, it's actually the worst kind of weather. In New England, against a team that is just pissed off about losing to Denver, they could throw in Vince Young if they want. I think they actually will. I think they'll get off to a bad start. They'll throw in Vince Young and the hitters make more mistakes. I don't see it actually being a huge blowout. I think there is a Titans defense there somewhere underneath covers. I call it Patriots 27 Titan 17 Justin: You know what? I don't understand about the Titans They they should look at what the Dolphins have done over the last year or so and and See how you can build an offense around the team that you have they have Chris Johnson and Vince Young. Those are two guys that can run the Wildcat really, really well because Vince Young can throw the ball down the field off of it and run the ball and Johnson's fastest hell off the outside and then Lindell White can run it in the middle. They should be doing that. Like it works. If you have the right personnel and then you have to kind of work on it like the dolphins are the best in the league at it because they've done it for a year not they don't do it twice a game it's not gonna work if you do it twice a game it's gonna work if you do it 18 times a game and then you're an average like you know seven or eight yards on that play because it's really tough to stop Jake: Yeah, I don't... I... not... not loving the Titans. I just don't think that they've got... I mean, if they were at home, I'd almost think that they could pull it out, but... I wonder at what point Jeff... do you think Jeff Fisher is a goner?
02 Jake: No. If they go too far? 0-8? 0-10? You think a 10-0 team that goes 0-10 doesn't... you know, no? Justin: No. So. Yes. I mean, yes. You know what? That's a guy who's been in the league for three years. Jake: 0-5. 0-5 says everything you're doing is wrong, change him something. And I think you have a good point. Vince Young is either a huge, huge, huge draft mistake and you've got to get rid of him and pick high next year or he's a diamond in the rough. You've got to find that out this year. I mean, I get benching him. He had a great year. days been sucko i think that the back in for the rest of season to what you got because you make some serious decision kerry collins is not going to get to the playoffs next year he is not sorry so time to make your sense of the house uh... but i went five well clearly not only five years ago and it would never been done on for i think two teams of many of us uh... one five zero uh... that we got the game of the week another late game buffalo bills the one in four Buffalo Bills. I think I've only beaten Tampa Bay, which are 0 and 5, up against New England Patriots. So Buffalo... I said up against New England Patriots. They're playing us. Yeah, no they're not. They're playing the New York Jets. Well, first of all, I have a couple things about this game. In fact, not this game, but then let's talk the next two games. This is where the rubber hits the road. This is where we find out if this is the team that we thought we were going to be or the team that we want them to be. Or the same old jets or the new jets. We have two games coming up, a 1 in 4 team and another 1 in 4 team. And then we go back to the dolphins. We take them in home. We go on, we have bills at home, they just, they suck. And then we have the Raiders. These two teams, I think, define this season. If we win these two teams by playing good ball, by dominating them, I'm not talking like 41-0, but I'm talking, you know, just come out, get a lead, keep the lead. Yeah, they could score a couple touchdowns, come back or whatever, but get out, take a lead, keep the lead. Um, that's, that will show me that, that we have changed. We've turned the corner. If on the other hand, we come out and we lose either one of these two trap games, because these are trap games, I think we were back to same old jets. So go ahead, tell me what you think about the game. Give me a score.
00 Jake: What do you think? Justin: So Buffalo's one of the three teams that fired their offensive coordinator before the, uh, start of the year. the week before, right? And they're one and four and the other teams are, I think, combined like one and 14. And the only reason why there's a win is because they played each other, Buffalo and Tampa. So I don't think Buffalo has a chance. Their offensive coordinator is Alex Van Pelt. He was a backup quarterback no more than two years ago in this league. With Buffalo. There's no chance in hell that he has a way to game plan against the Rex Ryan defense. I'm sorry. Not going to happen. Buffalo's going to be embarrassed. and Saying it now, I said it last week and I was wrong. Saying it now, we're going to embarrass Buffalo. We will win this game at home and it will be big. Unlike what you think. They scored three points against Cleveland last week. And they lost to a quarterback who completed two passes and played the entire game. It's not like he played 4 minutes. He played the entire game and completed 2 passes. We are going to win this game. 24-3. Jake: 24-3. Okay, I like the 24 part. Yeah, I mean, I think you're not taking into account this is a division rival and a division... this is also a team that remember was leading Patriots by 10 points. on the first game of the season. Yeah, I get it. They're not a good team. They're not gonna win. I'm not saying that they will or even will get close to winning. But I will say, yeah, but they'll score more than three points. I mean, I just think they'll score more. Well, because they'll be able to do something special. They will run back a touchdown or something. Justin: They scored three points last week. Jake: Yeah, I just I guess arrival I don't see that happening just like I didn't think we'd embarrass last week I remember I picked last week 28 24 we lost 2128 I think yeah If they had stopped in that last drive, it would have been really right which I would have loved No, I think this is a game that you know What I'm hoping happens is exactly what I hope happened last week or hope that did happen but didn't happen which is We get a nice lead, a nice 10 to 0, 13 to 0, 14 to 0, something like that, something sexy, maybe 17-3. And then we just don't let up on them and just keep going. But do a lot more running and running and running. And basically just wear them down. And we're not trying to pass happy. We're not trying to score. We got the lead. We're going to ground and pound them. We're going to put Sean Green in there.
01 Jake: We might hit a few big ones. We'll score an extra couple touchdowns, but I just don't see them as winning. I see this as JEDS24, Bill's 13. I think they'll get two field goals, and I think they'll get a touchdown somewhere. It might be a makeup touchdown. It might be at the end of the game. It could be 24-6, and then they go for the touchdown at the end of the game. video. It could be that type of thing. Like do a long bomb and get it or they do one of those crazy things. Well, good. We have some nice picks there. All right. So now the section of our podcast that I've learned to love, which is we take some questions from the Twitterverse. The tweets. 8. take a tweet. So you have a fan. You have a fan on Twitter, who actually I watched you kind of go back and forth with before a dolphin fan. The hun 74 asks, get kingdom go fins. I'd like to know how Justin feels about Chad Henney not being touched at all. at all, or touched as he predicted his demise last week. Since you did say he would be sacked 40 million times and killed, I think, or something like that. Justin: I thought he would die. I thought he would actually die. Jake: And that the Jets never even sacked him once. Didn't even touch him. We'd like to hear your response. Justin: Uh, he looked really good, I gotta be honest. The stats are there to prove it to he handled the pressure better than Any quarterback that we've actually played against? Previously which is a lot to say we played against Drew Brees and Tom Brady so Job well done by Chad Henny, but we'll see him again in three weeks and we'll see what happens Jake: Yeah, I mean, the only thing I would like to call out too is that you said that our defense would be the best in the league by week five and on week five was the week that we sucked the biggest balls. Yeah, obviously they listened to the podcast and they blew their heads up. That's what probably happened. Justin: Yeah, but watch what happens over the next couple weeks. Jake: I'm listen from your mouth to God's ears. I'm hoping it happens I'm hoping you know, this is again. This is a critical path for the New York Jets right now you win these two games You get to five and two and you you get those dolphins to come up out of their warm weather They're a little pretty, you know Orange outfits. I don't know that's a team that's built for the weather though Even though no, no, no, no, no, the way they're they're styled. Justin: They're playing style. The weather affected us. I get it. But that offense can play in bad weather. And Chad Henney went to school in Michigan. He can play in bad weather.
00 Jake: Ted Gin Jr. and Chad Henny don't make those two throws and catches in a bad weather. No, I don't know. Justin: Well, they both went to school in the big time, which is. you know, Ohio State, Michigan, they played in shit weather, you know. Jake: I don't care, it can happen. They come up here, I think we give them a dose of ropey dope. But uh, anyway, that's another matchup. But this is, this is, this is the talk about our team has to go out, beat the Bills, which we should beat, and then go out and beat the Raiders, which we traditionally... Even no matter how bad they are, we usually lose to them. So we gotta beat those two teams, come back and take care of our own business. Go in six and two into the bye. The Patriots are playing, they're playing two 0 and 5 teams. They're playing the frickin' Tennessee and then they're playing Tampa Bay. today. So, you know, we have we have to keep ahead of these teams. So anyway, let's go to the polls. Last week's poll. What is the New York Jets record at the bye week? There was you could take three or five, four, four, five or three, six or two or seven and one. And you know what? Sixty nine point two, three percent of you said six and two. So that includes me. As for you and now this week's poll Kind of a retro poll but since actually the we had one of our biggest pickups just last week I thought I'd throw it back out there biggest Jets pickup in 2009 I threw out there Rex Ryan Bart Scott Mark Sanchez Jim Leonard Braille and Edwards or Still to come So go to jet Kingdom calm and vote on those And if you're so inclined, please come on over to www.jetkingdom.com and friend us on Facebook where we will post updates and polls and the new podcasts.
