20 Justin: Crash your enemies, see them driven before you in the yellow lamentation. of the women. Jake: Well welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. As always on this side of the a little sadder aisle, maybe realistic aisle. Uh, still digital. And still digital is Jake and joining me across from the the aisle of tears But still digital is my good buddy Justin and co-host of the jet kingdom podcast. How you doing Justin? Justin: I'm all right. It's amazing how how one week will just change the digital aisle from being the all glorious digital aisle and how what a wonderful day it is to being the Isle of Tears uh literally Jake: seven days later. It totally is and I you know one of the things that I said to everybody going in And I talked to people at work and you and on the podcast. on every form that i a can log into throughout the week saying you know if there's one game that i would that i'm okay with losing if there is you know one game that if we were to lose i don't ever want to lose a game with jet fan i'm a homer whatever you know this is the game on the road against a good offense and apparently a good defense uh... you know uh... non-con non-conference This is the game to lose this is a game for the for the proverbial gut check And we did and I but I will say watching it. It didn't make it any easier. I was still mad I was just so frustrated and so you know, I guess it's just better Sometimes if you just get blown out right just just blow us out Don't make it like remember that Jacksonville game was like 41 zero Actually, I blocked that out and I don't remember it. Okay, so it's like those kind of games Like if you're just getting blown out of it, you just feel whatever But if you're like in it, you know, you could have won if you've done better if you know Defense and all that so so anyway, let's get into the game Actually, let's do the little agenda. This is a new thing. Just do agenda We're gonna talk about the Jets versus the Saints go over that game quickly and try to get the pain out We're gonna talk about the play of the game and of course the fool of the game because we lost We're gonna do a week three thrown pick review then pick or sorry week four phone pick review Then talk about week five coming up Go through all the rest of the NFL quickly then get down to the AFC East We've Cleveland at Buffalo New England at Denver and the Jets of course on Monday night against the Dolphins
04 Jake: We have a couple questions from Twitter we'll take on and that'll then we'll wrap up the show So stay tuned and stay into the to the podcast. We got a lot to get to so let's start it off And you know that this is the battle of the undefeated as it was say it was the three and no Jets against the three No Saints basically everybody picked the Saints You know a few people pick the Jets to win it was their their offenses is better their defense is better. They're in the dome And, you know, in some ways, kind of those things showed up. You know, obviously, the big thing about the game was that that Mark Sanchez had two, two big turnovers or three interceptions, but one big in the end zone and another one that was thrown for a touchdown or thrown for an interception for touchdown. So 14 points right off the bat or somewhere in the game that went to the Saints. basically putting this game out of reach uh... you know somewhere down the line so give me a thoughts what do you think about the game what what was your observations Justin: well you know i i think i'm gonna take a little bit of a different spin on this game than most jet fans and probably what you're gonna take on it i actually looked at this game as somewhat positive, and I'm gonna look at it sort of optimistically. The Jets are not, I repeat, are and were not going to go 16-0. So, that's just that. They're gonna lose more games down the road. Maybe, you know, more than a few. But, this game, they really didn't... They played as bad as they could have played on offense and almost won the game, or had a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter. That is how strong this defense is, and how well they played against an offense regarded as one of the top three in the league. You know, you put the colts. and them probably above everyone else, maybe the Pats, but they haven't shown up yet. I mean, this is a top offense, and our defense really didn't give up much to them. The only reason why our defense gave up points is because of our ineptitude on offense. And I say ineptitude, sort of putting some of the blame on the Jets for having kind of a... poor strategy, if you will, coming out of the gate against this team. And then I'll give New Orleans a ton of credit, because their defense is a hell of a lot better than it's been. And that's probably due to the coordinator there, Greg Williams. who we know somewhat intimately as the former Bill's head coach back in the early 2000s or so, but prior to that he was the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and they went to the Super Bowl on their defense. And then later on he was also you know a defensive coordinator I believe
05 Justin: with. perhaps the Redskins when they were playing some good defense as well. So this guy knows his defense, came in there, they attacked the crap out of the rookie quarterback, shook him up, the veteran Darren Sharper making big plays, I think he's one of the best ever at doing that, running back 90 yard touchdowns. So you know we got beaten. But I take the positives. Our defense looked stout again against a really formidable opponent. And they're only gonna get better by adding a starter back into the mix. Calvin Pace, we'll get back into that a little bit later. And you know the rookie is gonna look like a rookie. So he looked like a rookie, couldn't get a run game going. So we lost the game, but again sort of optimistic because we had a chance there in the fourth quarter and When we talk about my play of the game, it will allude to our losing of that chance Jake: Yeah, I mean I think that is certainly there is that is a positive and you know I like that you bring up the positive uh... this was a game that was completely winnable for for if you look at the way the game went down you know they went up three points we were within scoring distance i don't know thirty or so uh... you know thirty thirty five yard line what going down the field we're making some nice plays uh... and we would have scored we would have gotten a three right out of that at the very least Maybe seven we go up three three seven three, you know, we get a little mojo going but instead he runs it back for a touchdown You you know runs back for touchdown now. It's 10-0 Then you know we do this incredible stop on the one yard line Which I'm sure will show up in one of our plays of the game and then and then you know He fumbles it in the end zone and and then they go up 17-0. And at 17-0, that puts you in a position, now again, still in the second quarter, but it puts you in a position where you're not playing the game you want to play, you're playing the game that you have to play. And any time a team is put in that position, they're out of it. It's kind of as you take that game plan that you had all nice and bound up before, and here it is, this beautiful game, but you just rip it in half, and you go, OK. We got to play something different now because we're down 17 points and we know that this offense is probably gonna score at least another Seven if not another 14 So we got to start to put up some points we got to do so now and then I think that that Put Sanchez in a position. He wasn't ready to be in you know at this area stage the other good news I mean obviously the defense only giving him 10 points. Awesome. They've only even up three touchdowns this season Four games, I think that's just that that's pretty darn good Uh, you know there's some talk of them not of them giving up a lot of rushing yards Um, they give up rushing yards, but they don't give it up that you know affects the game
01 Jake: And I think that's sort of you know, they don't give it up to one bit player a player's not running 200 yards on us And again, it's something we'll have to watch when we go to miami and we'll talk about later And then other things that I would you know clearly this is the game that we expected to see about somewhere Hopefully only once which is the rookie game. This is the rookie game. Hey welcome to the NFL. I think I tweeted Justin: You know, yes, you welcomed him personally to the NFL and we thank you for that Jake: Yeah, I did. I walked on behalf of the Jack Kingdom community. We thank you for that Wait, wait, a Jet Kingdom community? Sorry, it doesn't make sense. No, seriously, it welcomed, you know, you got your ass handed to you through three interceptions. Maybe the last one you'd say, OK, is a desperation thing, but still. And I think there's some things that as Jet fans, we need to take a little, you know, I'm going to say it again, gut check, and just say, OK, there's some things we need to talk about. out. Thomas Jones is not running the ball like we thought he would. Justin: No, not at all. And why... Can I just stop you there? I'm sorry. Why is it that when Thomas Jones is not running the ball and then you bring in a player that you drafted who hasn't seen the field for four plays and the guy just kind of lights it up a little bit? Gives a little flair. They didn't stop Sean Green. not once when he touched the ball and he only got four touches and Leon only got four rushes. I don't understand why Thomas Jones gets this pass and I mean I sort of do because he's the kind of rusher that gets better as the game goes on so you want to keep feeding the ball but... I think we got to get Lee on the ball a little bit more You see when we win he touches the ball 15 to 1 Jake: Why do we stay with him? Well, I think I think the why is because we're down 17 points 17 to 0 You kind of I know it's the thing that's never give up on the run and you know keep with the run But the reality is you got to do something to put a spark He got up with some points up and I think they again I maybe out of desperation They went to that that The you know the they went away from the running game more than they thought they put Sanchez in a position that that he's has To run around and the other thing I'll say that I'll point out is that the offensive line? You know there's always a combination between why you know a quarterback's being pressured There's this sort of is he holding on to the ball too long? Or is the offensive line not giving you enough time? And you kind of look at the timing, and how long is he back there? And does he have to move left or right or whatever? I think it's a mix. There's some plays, obviously, where you would have liked some better blocking, especially that one in the end zone. Brick, you can't just tap the guy. You've got to really give him something else. And then there's. plays you like okay mark you you better know that you gotta have that clock in your head and and you feel that pressure now
00 Jake: the first three games i would say he felt that pressure very well that houston is specifically yet the ability to move away you know i to one or two steps move away make the throw this game was not that game and it showed and it just showed as as a rookie uh... you know what he quarterback land but let's go right and give me your play of the game. uh... for the game and let's talk about this already uh... i am going to go with the play that happened in the second half Justin: uh... the jets were making their way back into the game i believe that the time it was seventeen and in. And the Jets had the opportunity to stop New Orleans again on a fourth down in like one. They had already done it twice earlier in the game where it was fourth down and New Orleans went for it and the Jets stopped them. The Jets were looking to get the... ball back either right there at around you know 30-35 ish of their own uh on side of the 50 and uh uh it was fourth and about one and fucking chris jenkins jumped off sides and wouldn't you know our One of our top defensive players just basically handed New Orleans the game at that point. That was such a momentum shift play where if the Jets could have stopped the Saints on that fourth and one or had the Saints not even really had been running a play, had Drew Brees just been trying to draw us offsides. and then they would have called timeout because we had already stopped them on 4th and won twice and then they would have punched us the ball, we would have had the ball down 7 with a chance to then tie the game. That's why that play to me was the biggest momentum shift had the most effect on the game from a Jets losing the game perspective. So that bad play by Chris Jenkins is my play of the game. Jake: you know we're gonna do bad plays but I'll you know I kinda went a different way there on you how's it feel it's a little bit feels Justin: feels feels good sir I thought for a big impactful play not like a I didn't know that I thought the weird because we always do like night and fool and the fool when we lose and the night when we win that the play of the game would be like I don't know not the thomas jones 15 yard rushing rushing touchdown, you know that was Jake: That was gonna be my my first play I decided not to go with that because I thought you were gonna pick the basically the goal line stand I mean, I thought you know Anytime you take a team that has those that many weapons, uh, and you stand them up Um at the goal line now, of course We then started and basically gave them the touchdown that they would have had anyway.
00 Jake: So one could say it was kind of like they were going to get the touchdown anyway. It was serendipity. Amazing, amazing stop. You know, they ran to the left guard for minus one. Then they go to Heath Evans, tries to go for one. Juberees tries two passes, both incomplete. One to Chalki, one to Nesbitt. it. uh... both defended uh... great great stand me just think it's the kind of stuff that you like that stuff that later in the you keep saying that by week five will happen they hear comes back to be Justin: the best defense in the league starting now um... from now forward Jake: you know so i that that to me if we can do that in later games i think that will be a lot cuz that is something that if you can really hold a team it's very rare to hold the team on the 1. with four tries at the one and not let them get in there that's pretty good stuff um and let me get your fool of the game so quickly give me a fool of the game who's the fool Justin: my fool is is gonna go to a guy who was um noticeably uh absent from the stat sheet and his name's chancy stucky i have a problem with chancy stucky having two straight weeks like he's had where he's Either drop balls. I believe game before I'm not gonna penalize him for this But he was the cause of one of market Sanchez's interceptions all went off his hands But in this game he had one catch for eight yards One catch for eight yards is not good enough for your starting receiver on the other side I don't know if it's him or Brad Smith. I don't really consider Brad Smith a receiver So my I'm gonna go with Stucky just for not stepping up. I thought that he would step up a little bit Jake: Yeah, and I'll be I'll be mr. Obvious and I'll pick Sanchez You know if you're gonna if you're gonna live by the fire died by the fire He clearly was just off his game. He was not feeling the pocket pressure. He was, you know, I love that Sharper, I mean, this is kind of, this says a lot. Sharper calls out Sanchez before the game, couple days before the game and says, he doesn't look off his receivers or his office safety. He actually stares down the receiver, I know this, I'm telling you this. Now, why Darren Sharper told the world and the Jets, it. that he did this, that he has a tendency to stare down the receiver and then Sanchez goes out and throws not one but two interceptions to that guy, it's like that to me is getting a little, that's mind games. No, you know what that is? That's, there's three games of tape. Justin: That's what that is. Jake: Well, that's what I'm saying, but then, you know, don't be that guy. Justin: But you are that guy. You are what you are. And for now, he's... For now, he's played in now four NFL games. You know what? I told... Peyton Manning was staring guys down. Eli Manning was staring guys down. Joshmo in five years is gonna stare guys down. That's just the nature of him being a rookie quarterback in his fourth game Darren Sharper being a 15 year pro and
02 Justin: Being you know one of the one of the better safeties to ever play so you know The guy's a championship caliber player So, you know whether he said that out loud or not whatever The Jets are seeing the tape too. They know what the deal is if he's staring receivers down. He's staring receivers down Okay, they're gonna have to work on that. Maybe by week 17. He'll get that, you know Jake: Yeah, I hope he gets it leave for that because he serves if everybody knows he does that And then pays attention to it. Well now there's tape on it Justin: So now you really can see his tendencies as opposed to like we don't want to do it He's gonna have to learn on the job. He's learning on the job Jake: I mean, you know all right all right all right end of that end of this So that was the Jess first saying let's put it behind us with three and one Again as I talked to people in the office today, you know you become known I don't know if you're in your office if you're known as the jet guy And I'm clearly known as the jet guy people come talk to so winner you know you win the game you work a great game about a lot more than they chat with you and say but you know this is this is the latest like see i told you about what so but today said hey listen i didn't pick them to be three and one i think i picked them to be one and three i think you had to make two into turn to if we look at back at the end of the tape Uh, you know, if you had said to me back in August, hey, you can be three and one going into a Monday night game against a One in three dolphins. How you like them apples? I'd say i'll take it i'll take it twice and i'll take it again Justin: We are we're in a good position a much better position then I think most jet fans thought we would be in at this point in the game. Jake: And again, you know, it's hard not to look back to last season and and feel that eight and three top of the FCE speeding the Patriots, beating the Titans both on the road and not making the playoffs. So I'm not sitting here as a three and one, you know, jet fan going, you know, freaking sign me up for the Super Bowl. I think this is a good game to lose. I don't want to lose games, but it's a good game to lose, to say, out of division, out of conference, on the road, tough loss. And I think it's going to be only better for Mr. Sanchez. He has some tape to go watch now, which I like. So now let's wrap that up. And now let's go towards the, let's talk about the picks. So we started last week. We are doing every game of the NFL. We're going to have a little competition, you know, maybe week to week. Maybe we'll call the week leaders. How'd we do last week? Well, last week, actually, you did better than I did. I think you got 10 games. Correct. I have I lost on Tennessee. I did not see them losing another game. They did. I lost on Baltimore because I thought Baltimore would be able to they were looking like a team that could beat the Patriots. They didn't. I lost on Buffalo. I actually thought that Buffalo had a little bit more talent. And Miami had less talent. They could be able to... I mean they sat Chad Henney six times in the game, and yet they win the game.
01 Jake: I mean, I just don't know how that happens. We're going to talk a lot about Miami coming up. I clearly lost the near-chats, which I had picked. And then, you know, something in me, a little bit of FU to Favre on Monday night. I actually picked Green Bay to win. Good bye. Thanks, everyone. Thanks for coming to the next episode of KELOLAND. Thank you. uh... so i lost those five games that put me in nine five for the week i think what what one of you is use the same one third which one do not know gosh i have no idea Justin: does this uh... tracker thing tell me that Jake: yet now no i have to actually contract that myself uh... i could tell you which ones are lost let's see okay it's okay let's Yeah, you know, I had the far one right. Okay, let's say you know that Minnesota's gonna be better. Yeah. All right, so that was last week Let's give it one Justin one J zero Jake just one Jake zero for the week week Four yep now. Let's head on into week five. Let's do it and let's talk. So let's go down. We're gonna go down the games The NFL that are not in the AFC East right and then we'll pick apart the actual acease games game by game and actually talk about the final score. So let's start. Dallas Cowboys in Kansas City against the undefeated Kansas No, they're not. No, they're not. Not at all. Justin: So I had the chance to watch the Kansas City game this week because I played the Giants. And I will take the Cowboys because. Thank you so much for watching. and the city stinks yeah ken's is that Jake: uh... cowboys win let's do bucks at philadelphia the return of donald mcmaugh mcmaugh back filly off a buy filly yeah i think there's some outrageous record of edri uh not edri um sorry um andy reid uh who is uh almost like i don't think he's ever lost doesn't even matter tampa stinks Yeah, Tampa Stinks, at home, Philadelphia. You have Cobb, you have Vic, you have McNabb. Between all three of them, you have something. They win. Vikings, now undefeated Vikings. 4-0 Vikings go to St. Louis. Soon to be 5-0. Let's check on the really crappy Rams. Soon to be 5-0. 5-0, man. Fyv is going to start off like a, you know, like a. like you did last year. Privateer. Agreed. I will say, just before we get to all these games, I actually look at these games because, well, I guess all Jet fans have this issue. This is about to say I have this issue, but we all do, which is that our team isn't until Monday night. So Sunday becomes kind of an enjoyable thing where you get to watch other games. times. without sort of your game in the way, right? It's either not coming up, you're not tailgating, you're not doing it. So you kind of get the whole day to watch the games. And I will say, looking at this list, they're almost all but two really shitty games that no one really wants to watch. Yeah, so far we have mentioned no good games. Then we have another no good game, Raiders at Giants. Justin: Giants haven't been home in three weeks. They're going to steamroll Oakland. Jake: Yeah, Oakland loses big time.
00 Jake: I take the over on that. Cincinnati Bengals at the Baltimore Ravens. Justin: It's the first decent game of the week. It's actually going to be a pretty good one of division rivals in Baltimore, so I'll take Baltimore. Jake: Yeah, I don't think this is a good game. I think Cincinnati's been playing with house money for a couple of weeks. They barely won against Cleveland, which is not saying a lot. Baltimore wins. Cleveland speaking of the devil another shit game Cleveland Browns at the Buffalo Bills Justin: You know, I think the man genius actually oh wait, sorry, sorry, we're not picking. Oh, you know what? We're not picking this one. Can we just pick it cuz I just said my pick. Nope. Nope. All right. Sorry Jake: We'll go quickly dealers at Detroit Stuers to win Washington at Carolina. These two teams both stink, but Carolina had to buy to talk it over. I'll go with them. Carolina has a little bit more firepower. I think Jason Campbell, the Jason Campbell experience or experiment is over. And probably the head coach, Carolina will win that game at home. It will probably be blacked out though. Falcons in San Francisco. My Falcons taking on a tough San Francisco team. I'm sticking with my Falcons. Yeah, first not not we don't agree. I think the 49ers are playing really well. They probably should have won that game last week against Vikings. They have a better team at home. I think they really start going. Frank Gore being out a little bit worrisome, but Atlanta's a very bad road team. Just bad road team. Don't see the 49ers win. Houston Texans in Arizona, I guess Cardinals. Justin: I will take Arizona in this game. I like them at home. I don't like Houston on the road. Jake: Yeah, I disagree. I'm going to go with Houston. I think Arizona's, I think they're going to start to collapse pretty soon. Super Bowl hangover, I don't know what it is. I say Houston actually stands up, does a good job. We'll skip over the next one. We'll go to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Seattle. Again, two cra- two crappies. Yeah, this is not a great, uh... Justin: Not a great choice for the late game situation, but I think I'll take Seattle in a tough place to play Jacksonville flying all the way across the country Jake: Yeah, Seattle no matter how bad they are even last year when they suck They still managed to actually put up a good thing at home Seattle wins again Sunday night game Sunday night football Crappy, crappy, crappy! For an oak cult against the Owen Ford Tennessee Titans in Tennessee. Justin: You know, I'm actually switching my pick on the fly. I chose the cults. I'm literally switching right now to the Owen Ford Tennessee Titans. Jake: Yeah, not gonna happen. I just picked the Titans. Cults are too good. I mean, yes, there is a game that the Titans will win. It ain't this game.
01 Jake: Alright, now let's go to the... So we have a couple of disagrams. That's good. Make some good fodder. Now let's talk about the actual AFCE games. We're gonna pick those games. Alright. Cleveland Browns, I want Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, I want a winner and I want a score. Justin: Okay, you got it. I'm gonna go back to what I was saying. I think the man genius makes an appearance. They fought pretty hard this past week against Cincinnati. And I think Buffalo really sucks. Like I know Cleveland really sucks, but Buffalo really sucks too. So I'm gonna give Cleveland a, you know, what do they call it, Puncher's Chance in this one? Jake: And uh, it's gonna be such an ugly game, gosh. Uh, 13-9. Yeah, I don't agree with this one. I think the man genius is man done. And uh, I basically think this is the game that he loses and... probably loses his job. Well, I don't know if they'll fire him this early. Yeah, they'll probably fire him at the end of the year. I mean, he's been a complete mess. They really wanted him. But no, I don't like, you know, Buffalo does suck. But they do play better at home. They are going to at home. That's true. You know, I think if they can not make some of the crappy mistakes they made against Miami, I think they can win this game. But I don't think it's going to be a barn burner. Let's call it 1913 Buffalo. below. Then we have the New England Patriots in Denver. So the three-in-one Patriots go to Denver to the 4-0 Denver Broncos. Justin: 4-0 Denver Broncos who still haven't played anyone because I'm convinced that the Dallas Cowboys are not very good. And that's who they just beat, who was supposed to be their first test. Nonetheless... I believe the first time man genie played against Bela check the Jets won If I remember back correctly Jake: I believe that to be true. I don't think so I think it was that first year we lost at home then we won In New England and then we we lost in the playoffs in the playoffs. Yeah. All right So anyway, thanks for that. Good to be wrong. Justin: I think Josh McDaniels is going to have something up his sleeve. He knows. Rady really well. Really, really well. He knows that offense really, really well. And his defense at this point is playing some of the best defense in the league out in Denver with Mike Nolan out there as the defensive coordinator who, as you recall, didn't do so well as a head coach in San Francisco but was a heck of a defensive coordinator. These guys tend to get promoted above their skill set. We've talked about this numerous times how coordinators get promoted to head coaches and they don't really have it. But I think McDaniels has a little bit of the secret sauce and knows a little bit too much about New England. So I'm going to give it to Denver.
01 Justin: Kind of a heart pick a little bit. I want Denver to beat New England and I think that they could pull it out in a really close, close, close 24-23 game. Jake: No, that's not going to happen. I'll give you a little as I open up a cool frosty beverage. There we go. Justin: I have sound effects on the podcast. Jake: There are. Here's a frosty beverage being poured into a Coors Light Jets mug that we've so far. Got it, a bar. That's not a sponsor, is it? I don't know. This segment is sponsored by Cora's Light. Our checks in the mail. Or our deceased one. As was said in a once famous movie called Passenger 51 by 1, Wesley Snipes. always bet on black and I will take that and say never bet against the Patriots and yeah I'm not gonna go against the Patriots I tried last week I've lost so many times going against them yeah the the teacher will not outdo the Sensei and I think New England wins I'm gonna give them 2320 uh... the defense and i will see let's play some good games play a good team will see Denver has a lot of team I think they have Pittsburgh and they have uh... oh their schedule a lot of their schedules insane the next five weeks but they got a nice start give it to them there uh... so I'm gonna call it uh... New England 2320 and then the final game My day, night, football. I'm gonna say I am happy this is not the fourth dolphin. That's just gonna be a disaster. Three dolphin. What you just said is very important. Justin: It was the 3-0 jets and the 0-3 dolphins. The dolphins are coming off a win and the Jets are coming off a loss, which I always love I love when the Jets are hungry this whole week They're like fuck we lost and we want to win and the dolphins. I don't know There's something like in your mindset when you win almost a comfy level even though they're one in three I have a feeling the Jets are going to hurt Chad Henny. Like, actually hurt him. Like, I will go on record in saying Chad Henny won't finish the game. Because I think that they're really going to hurt him. They don't have to worry about the pass at all against this team. And I feel like the Jets are going to actually... have their first blowout win of the year. I actually see this game ending something like a 28-7. Jake: Wow. You got one score right.
02 Jake: So there's a couple of interesting things about this. So the Buffalo Bills were able to sack Heni six times, but they still won. I think the dolphins, you can tell I've been on dolphin form all day, the dolphins are top 5 passing defense, or rushing defense and top 5 rushing. They're putting up hundreds of yards a game in rushing. They certainly know how to rush it. As I would say, that's all they know how to do. You know, their defense, Joey Porter was out last week, they still seem to play well. Joey Porter is in this week, they'll probably play a little bit better. They don't have a lot of talent, although their number one draft pick last year, I think Fonte Davis did a pick six, which was good for them. I think this game comes down to two sides of the same saying coin. It comes down to rookie quarterbacks, Hene and Sanchez, and good defenses. And this comes down to, are we going to see which defense is going to make the plays that change the game, and which rookie quarterback is going to be the other end of that play. meaning which rookie quarterback is either going to play well enough so it's not a big deal or is going to play poor enough that that they kind of lose the game and I and you know looking at our defense and their defense looking what we've done to some of the better teams in the league and what they've done to some crappy teams although you know they played the Falcons they played Bills they played Justin: yeah but you know what we played the Patriots and the Saints Those are two of the best defenses or offenses and Houston and Houston Jake: Those are three really top flight offenses So I think I I don't think it's gonna blow because I just it's hard to it's hard to think about a blowout on Monday Night, you know, I most always those Monday night games come down to something even the game on Sunday Which is San Diego Chargers? Justin: the end of that game. Jake: It was a 21-0 game, and they came back with, I think, a touchdown. They still lost the game. So I think this will be close. Again, I think it's up to those two exes. It's the defense. It's the defenses. Ken, which defense is going to make a move? I like having pace back. Do I think he's in mid-season form? No. I think he'll share time with Colston. That will be good. That's all for this video, we'll see you in the next video. and then and then was then uh... you know i really think i like our chances i think our quarterbacks a better quarterback at least at more skills and he has more weapons to get him out of the game uh... it will see you know who plays a wildcat more like the jets one call twenty eight twenty four so we've got the same status uh... jet score twenty twenty four monday night you really think that that is going to be Justin: able to score twenty four points on us Jake: No one, no one, the Saints just scored 24 points on us. I think it'll be running game stuff. I think they'll run, they'll take 10 to 12 minutes off the clock going down the field. How does that equate to scoring though? Because they'll score twice, they'll score twice and then maybe they'll make a mistake,
00 Jake: we'll make a mistake with some fumble or something. and he'll sit in the pocket too long. And you know, like a portal get to something i i i you know i twenty twenty fourth that's my call now earlier on okay why we're gonna win so that's okay we get to uh... two questions from the tweet verse while over pain now uh... and uh... so let's do one of them was to both of them at jet kingdom hate from uh... jets tweets iphone apps as an action app that You know, is this a promotional thing? Fine. It's a $0.99 app that, I think, captures all the Jets' Twitter guys, and you can see all their tweets in one place. Kind of a cool idea, $0.99. If you don't, you know, you haven't found them yourself, maybe that's worth the time. So he says, or she says, hey guys, one thing to talk about is Sanjic's bad block. uh... that was a second time he did that you think he'd learn from the first time uh... so there's uh... twice now uh... Sanchez on sort of after throwing a bad pic goes and throws a bad block sort of what they're you know a chop block or i guess the block where they can't see you're coming goes to the legs yeah he kind of tackled the guy Yeah, I think last time he did this time I didn't think it was as bad as the first time first one was clearly obvious This one I felt was a little bit Not as much you know He's a rule attack. You know what it was. You know what it was Justin: It was really stupid because all he did was throw himself in front of a lineman And he wasn't going to tackle Darren Sharper, so he should have just stopped running Hold your breath, relax, because you're coming right back on the field. Right. So, it was, I think it was just stupid. Maybe in the heat of the battle or whatever he felt like getting some frustration out, but someone's got to tell him on the sidelines, hey kid, don't go throwing yourself in front of a 280 pound Lyman. There's no use in that you're not tackling that guy stop relax get over it and get on with it. So someone's going to tell him that I imagine. Jake: Yeah, I think I think this isn't something that I mean, yes, probably something that you calm down a little bit later. But what I'll put the positive spin on it that what I like about it is that he is a player who's just so into the game and you know, he is he wants to win. And so I think he's throwing his body there because he wants to make that play Let's hope he never does it again. Two is, two is, one's a mistake, two's an issue, three's a problem, two's still an issue. And then from Bill Knapp, I should have these guys at symbols, at what's the number. You know, you really should. I will get it right now as we talk about it. He says, question for the podcast. Has Galston showed enough in four games to get playing time with Pace, now back in the mix? Thanks. I'll send that to you first. What do you think?
01 Justin: I'll take it. You know, no. The answer is actually no, in my opinion. I don't think he's shown enough to, you know, deserve playing time necessarily. The only issue is that he's going to still play because Pace is not going to play every down. And Goldstone will... probably be the backup that will play. But he hasn't shown anything. He has no sacks, right? Jake: Yeah, his... Justin: He has nothing. He hasn't really done anything this year, where he's been given the opportunity to... absolutely do so. Everyone else on this Jets team is completely taking advantage of what this offense or this defense is and getting sacks and getting past deflections and interceptions and fumble recoveries. And this guy's gotten like nothing. He's nowhere to be found. I actually made an effort to watch him. this week on the line and and he gets you know uh beat off the line he gets knocked off the line i don't understand it he's as big as everyone else he's just not not doing it right now so i would say does he deserve it no is he gonna get it yes Jake: Yeah, I think uh, Golstin's gonna be a forever, he's gonna be a thorn in our side. I think he's gonna do enough to sort of say, eh, he's an okay player. Um, you know, there are times, there's moments where you're like, okay, there's a moment. But, realistically, he's had seven tackles this year. He had five last year. Um, so a total of twelve. Justin: Well, wait, he has seven tackles this year. And he started four games at linebacker. record. Yeah, that's bullshit. Yeah, I know So anyway Harrison I Jake: Mean just I'm sure I'm sure like I'm sure like Harris has like seven. Well Harris is in the middle Justin: So that's not fair. But how many does Brian Thomas have? Jake: I look it up Brian Thomas Justin: Because he's on the outside sort of playing the opposite position the same position or similar positions, right? So there's statistics Jake: Easily compared to each other one here. So here we go Brian Thomas to date has 13 total, 2009, solo force and a half a sack. So here's the thing I think, not that that proves, but here's an interesting point of view. This team doesn't have a lot of sacks, right? As a team, we haven't got to the quarterback very much. You know, we didn't sack Brady at all. We get to the quarterback. We hurry, we don't sack them. Justin: We hurry the shit out of them. Jake: But so that's what I'm saying.
00 Jake: Like if if they were if we were having five or six exact games and he wasn't getting any of those, then he got to say it's him. Justin: Well, you're about to see one because we're going to have a five or six Jake: exact game. So let's hope so. I think that Pace is the guy, but he's not going to be able to play immediately. He's not in football shape. He doesn't know that he's been out. He can't even have been, he literally came back to practice today or yesterday. So he's going to split time. I'm hoping this gives something. Again, hope springs eternal. We have a lot of money in this guy. He's not tradable at this point. So we got to make it work with him. The other good thing to say, other than we don't have a lot of sacks, so it's not like he's missing out on millions of sacks. The other way to spin this is hey listen this whole defense as a whole has done what it's done. He is part of that defense. So he has to take some. It's not like the defense is giving it 500 yards a game. He is part of that defense. What percentage part of it? Is it Reavis's and Jenkins are 75% and he's 5%? Maybe. But he's part of it. So he's making plays. He's just not in the position that. We'd like him to be at this point. So those are the questions I'll give you up. It is from the two people were at jet tweet jets tweets is the iPhone app and the other one was Emerson at Emerson nap. E-M E-R-S O-N K-N-A-P-P.
