03 Jake: This is episode 60 of the Jet Kingdom Podcast for Tuesday, December 8th, 2009, R Knucklehead. Justin: of the women. Jake: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom Podcast, as always, back from the Toronto Digital Isle. Wait, does that make any sense? I hope not. No. It's Jake and joining me across the one-sided Digital isle is Justin. How you doing Justin? Justin: I'm feeling lonely on this side of the digital isle For those of you side of the great northern divide for those of you who don't know Jake: Justin I usually have a video camera going to watch each other while we do the podcast as we do it across a yeah It's great And this time, for some reason, my camera is not working. So I can see Justin in all his quarry and his unshavenness. But he cannot see me. And that's because I'm new. Justin: It's funny that you call this unshaven because people are asking me at work if I shaved. Jake: today like ever you would call this unshaven because this is actually uh shaved wow that's shaved i don't want to see none shaving all right so we got a little agenda for the game we got we're going to talk about the toronto game and uh talk about uh the sanchez slide maybe talk a little bit about some knuckleheads uh... we're gonna go over our uh... their last week's thrown pics see how we did who did better or what and we're gonna talk about this week's own victory fourteen and some of the playoff scenarios that are going on there and how we're gonna stack up and they will pick the f c's games uh... in-depth with scores just remember to get the scores advances time and uh... then we'll wrap it up So let's get going so As you know, I made the trip of trips and drove up to the game and enjoyed it very much. Toronto was a great place. The Rogers Center was interesting. My first dome game. I've never been to a game in a dome before. Justin: Oh, me neither. Jake: Yeah, well, and you still haven't. uh... it's it's it's it it was forty percent bills fans probably twenty percent Jets fans and then the rest were just people. They were there because it was an event, they were there because whatever, they were there. And so tell me what, so you watched the game obviously on NFL Network, so what do you think? Justin: I did. I watched it actually here in New York on what used to be W
04 Justin: PIX11, I don't know what it is now. I love the game. They won a victory. Victories are great. The fact that it was up in Toronto probably helped. It's not always so easy to play in Buffalo in December. So. uh... playing in a dome in toronto i don't understand it from buffalo's perspective they lose their home field advantage in a game is a little odd uh... buffalo's choice Jake: at buffalo intact and how is that like well here's the deal they've wanted this no buffalo has got a shrinking fan base and the NFL wants to broaden the fan base of the NFL, so they said to Buffalo, listen, why don't we do this package deal? You'll do five years of one game in Toronto. We will sell an eight game package, for all of you out there, this might be interesting. They sold an eight game package to people in Toronto. So if you wanted to buy, you had to buy eight games, three of which are pre-season. 5 of which are played off over 5 years. You're basically buying it having no idea who you're playing in the 5 year advance. So talk about spending money before. Justin: You're always getting the bills. Jake: You're getting the bills and then somebody. But you're buying it years in advance. These are not cheap tickets. I think the packages are like $2400. You're basically paying $2400 to then not see a game for five years. So really, and not know who you're going to play. Justin: I heard they gave away some of these. Jake: I heard they gave away tons of tickets for this game. It's a very, very strange deal. And then I heard that, this is all rumor and whatever, I heard that Buffalo said, OK, fine, let's do this deal here. We have some conditions. We don't want to be a division game, we don't want to wait in the season, and we don't want to be on a night game. Well, they fucked up here. Well, exactly. So that's why this is so weird. It was all of those things. Because if it's a night game on a Thursday night and division in December, you've taken all the advantage away. Buffalo fans can't get up on the middle of the week and go up. It's a two hour drive, right? So it's not like next door. Yeah, that Thursday night. I mean that kills people. Thursday night's better than Sunday night though, I think. Nope. Nope, because you got all Sunday drive up there. Yeah, you're right. You gotta leave work early on Thursday. It's better than Monday though. Uh, yeah it is better than Monday. But then divisional and then taking away the advantage. So, all in all, a completely bad thing for the Buffalo, but since we don't care about the Buffalo Bills. We don't care about the Buffalo Bills. So anyway, keep going on your own. We want them to lose. Justin: Well, I saw a pretty well put together team coming off of a short week going on the road. They had a very good game plan. They knew what they wanted to do on offense. Obviously, run the ball against the Bills because the Bills can't stop them and they couldn't stop them.
00 Justin: They ran for over 300 yards the last time they played. They ran for 249 this time. So, I mean, this is a division rival that we ran for. over 550 yards against in two games which is pretty awesome. And everyone knows that they should have won the first game. So they came out, learned some lessons, said, look, we're going to run the ball early and often. We're going to take a couple shots here and there, but nothing too crazy. Sanchez is not going to lose us this game. and and we'll just win with field position, defense, and running the ball and that's exactly what they did. Special teams played really well. They were able to win field position battles. They didn't turn the ball over a whole heck of a lot. I think what Sanchez have won? Interception maybe or none, right? Zero. They didn't even turn the ball over at all. So that's how you win games. by doing things like that. So I thought it was a really, really well played game and I'm glad that they won two in a row and now they have a long week to prepare for a crappy team. So it's looking good. I like it. Jake: Yeah, I mean, I definitely have issues with this game. I mean, it was from a... First of all, it was a lot of points being left on the... Goddamn fee Oh tons you know the past to the pastor Braille and Elwerts that awesome that he horrible horrible You cannot do that as funny though watching NFL this week And I've been of course watching with my multiple TVs and direct TV so I'm I'm sitting and no chance game So no just anything you want some watching tons of games I saw it happen to a couple big players like a couple times It was the one in the Titans game. I think goes one in the in the The Giants came where they throw this bomb, it's just no way they're not gonna get it and they just can't catch it. Justin: How does someone, how does someone, how does someone's reputation sort of came with he's gonna drop the ball? He's gonna drop the ball. That was on the ball. That was on the ball. That was on the ball. Jake: That one and then say, Sanchez overthrowing, um, Khatri. Which was probably something that he couldn't. So, but a couple things that I took away from this game. Um, one is, I didn't, you say you liked the game plan, I think you only liked the game plan because we won. Well yeah. This game we should... After you win... No. After you win games... No. Uh, that's good. This game should have been dominated much, much more. They had no answer to the run and yet we kept stop, we kept going these wide, you you know the shotgun and the four outs and it's like Even to start the series, like we get the ball, this is the. a a run defense in the league. But dude we ran for 249 what do you want? But listen they are the we are the best or second best running team in the league and the first like series it was like pass pass run pass pass run or run pass run I mean it's like I'm sorry, but I'm gonna pull a little parcells here if you got if you're the best at this and they're the worst
03 Jake: Don't don't there's no reason to pass. I don't understand what you're complaining about Justin: Attempted 17 attempts. They what is your complaint? They should they should have run it more How do you run it more you they ran for 249? It should have run. How do you run it more? 2350 Thomas Jones on 23 Jake: Sean Greenhead 11 11. There were too many times where it was just like why are they trying to pass it at this Oh wow I actually disagree. Justin: I thought that they ran the ball very effectively. They ran the ball a lot. They only attempted 17 passes. I don't understand. Jake: Well, yes, but that was also by the position we got in and we got ahead and whatever. But okay, so that's one, just my feeling. And it's really a thing on Schottenheimer. I think Schottenheimer is... his days are completely numbered. Justin: I would love to fire him now if I thought I could and get through the rest of the season, but you can't. Well, that's the thing. And you may as well just stick with him for the rest of the season, and god damn it, they better go after Charlie Wise. Jake: God damn it they better. They're not going to have to try it twice. No one wants to try it twice. Why wouldn't they? Because here's the thing. We want an offensive coordinator who has the same philosophy as our head coach, which is run, run, run, run, run, great D. Justin: Charlie Weiss can make magic happen on offense. Jake: All right, well, he can't make magic happen at Notre Dame because he sucked balls. Great with quarterbacks and receivers. drivers. That would be I say this suggestion for maybe a mentor for for Sanchez One of the things sorry that was that was one and then there's one other thing I want to mention and now I've forgotten it Cuz you pull me off the topic. You're stupid Thanks, man, I really missed you I brought you back something from Canada You did? Yeah, it's a bowl full of shit. Oh! Why can I get it? So give me your play of the game and then give me your night of the game. I was waiting for you to ask those questions. Yeah, that's cool. Justin: I'm going to night someone right now. I thought the special teams did a hell of a job in this game. So I'm going to go ahead and pick Jay Feely from the special teams because he made four field goals and they won by six points. Those are field goals and he made them and you saw in a couple other games field goals to go up 10 or to go up six or whatever are very big. Washington blew that game against New Orleans because their kicker missed what was essentially an extra point. uh towards the end of the game with under two minutes left and so i'm gonna pick j feely for the night of the game but it was really all the special teams they all played really well and the play of the game is the touchdown pass uh sanchez did a great job to buy some time on the play uh edwards made a nice catch after after dropping
03 Justin: A couple I believe he's really odd. He makes these amazing catches on the sidelines Oh, yes crazy this crazy touchdown pass where he catches the wall in traffic shakes a guy off Runs over and stretches his body out And they found on replay that it was indeed a touchdown It was really really good play Towards the end of the half I believe and then they got the ball to start the half which was just really big because they were able to keep that momentum alive. So that was the play of the game for me. Jake: Um, I'm going to get two nights. I'm going to dual night it. First of all, you can't do that. Yeah, I can. It's amazing how I can do all these things. Oh, my God. First of all, I'm giving a night. I'm going to give a night every single week now. My night of the year up to this point, it's got to be Darryl Reavis. And why you're not giving him another knighthood every every week? Because he's just awesome. I give him the night every week. OK, so I gave it to Jay Feely this week. So I always give it to I'm going to give him. But it's just it's boring to talk about him. I actually got to Thomas Jones because Thomas Jones ran a good. I mean, granted, they have a sucky much defense. But I like that he was actually running like. you know he was running bigger averages he was he was really you know putting it in there and when you need the yards you actually pick up the yards he's a real strong back like I know he's he's slow and old but it's consistent and he consistently he's reminds me of you know sort of Martin in his later days that's Justin: so funny that you said that because I said that to my my buddy who I was watching the game with we were watching the game and I said you know I really don't even want to say this out loud, but Thomas Jones reminds me a hell of a lot at Curtis Martin in his later days. Later days, yeah. It's very dependable. If it was third and one, you could give him the ball, you could get one and a half. If it's third and two, we'll get two and a half. Jake: And he's good on the goal line. So, um... Yeah, good call. And if he busts one, he's gonna get caught from behind. That's the truth. Oh yeah, yeah. Same thing with Curtis Martin. Like, he busts one, you're like, oh, he's gonna go all the... No, he got caught. But it's fine. It still works. Justin: Well, Sean Green's pretty quick. Um, I'm not ready to say he's all that great because I think he's got a little bit of a fumbling problem, but he's pretty quick. Jake: Yeah, he is. He is. I agree. I will say, and then my play of the game has got to be the interception to sort of end the game. That was the big one. He bombs it. Don't throw the island. Don't go to the island. Don't throw it that way. But Fitzpatrick throwing deep to Terrell Owens. end. intercepted by Drell Rivas. That was the play of the game because that was it. They shut Justin: it down and that was done. Great. Hand the ball. His stats were really amazing. Yeah. Jake: Well, if you look, there's actually a great post. If I wish I could pull it up. But it
01 Jake: lists every game. Drell Rivas, who he matched up with and what they have. And I think almost all of them except for one had zero touchdowns under like 50 yards. Yeah, and you know who had the best game against him? Do you remember? No. Justin: It was Ted Ginn Jr. Jake: He burned them once deep. Justin: It was like one pass. But he's essentially shut Tio down twice. Tio's had two good weeks in a row and that was it. The quarterback sucks. But shutting down Moss pretty good. Shutting down Andre Johnson pretty good. Shutting down Sims Walker from... Jacksonville pretty good. He shut down some really good receivers. Jake: And yeah, he does it consistently and it's good stuff. So let's talk a little bit about there's two controversies in this game. I don't know. Controversies. Yeah, well one is the Sanchez Slide. Justin: I've spoken on. Well, go ahead, tell me what you think. Were you tweeting away at the time? I was tweeting away at the time and maybe a little bit afterwards. To me, that's no big deal. A slide doesn't help there. He's sliding into two guys, whatever, and he doesn't pick up a first down. And you know what? I would rather him be thinking, I need to get the first down. then be thinking I need to slide here. That's just my take on it. And the other thing is that that didn't look like he hurt himself because he didn't slide. That could have happened on a sack. That could have happened, you know, him... you know, running towards the sideline and just tripping and falling or falling on any play, it just looked like you banged his knee on the turf. Now, what it does bring up though, I think a little bit, is his toughness. Because, you know, should he have been able to come back in in a game? Maybe. Jake: I don't think they, I think he probably could have if the game was on the line. Because I think they... Justin: Let me tell you, Keller, all those who want to pull Sanchez for Kellen Clemens, no. Jake: No, the best part about that game altogether was that... You got a little glimpse into why that's not happening. No, we saw why, yeah, we saw why Kellen Clemens is a... Back up at best. not going to be on this team next year and why They will roll Sanchez out in a wheelchair next week because yeah, Kellen Clumps, he was all—he has that sack, same thing we've been saying about for years and again until he proves us wrong, his pocket presence is horrible. Awful. And he almost cost us that game. Never in one point to get rid of the ball. Let's not forget that that game almost was cost by him. He fumbled on the five yard line or whatever, five or ten and I forgot who jumped on him.
02 Jake: Maybe Jones jumped on it. But if they had recovered that ball, they were touched down. They were up by one. Game over. Game over, dude. Justin: It's very telling. He played a lot less than Sanchez did. And he got sacked three times. And Sanchez only got sacked twice. And some of those sacks that Clemens takes really on him. And we've said this many times. together on this podcast like you just said. He's got like happy feet, he leaves when he shouldn't, he doesn't ever get the ball out of his hands ever. Even just throw it away. He does, he made one nice play where I think it was a third down play where it was like a third and eight or nine and they picked up the first down on a nice pass but You know, that was it. The last impression on this game before we move on was that, you know, Sanchez, his stats, 7-15 for 104 and a touch, he played much better than that. His receivers were not helping him. Brelyn Edwards dropped an 84-yard touchdown pass. Yeah, he would have had the help. Kottree dropped a pass which is very unlike him uh Braelyn Edwards dropped another pass, I mean he very easily could have thrown for 250 in this game. Jake: Also, Clowney drops a pass in the end zone. Yeah. Couldn't maintain control. Yeah, a pro catches that, you know. Justin: A veteran, like a kachri catches that ball. So, you know, his receivers didn't help him very much. He had a much better game than his statistics let on. Jake: Again, at some point I'd love to see it. I don't know if we'll see it in Braylon Edwards and whatever. He does have moments where you think, my God, I don't know why he's on our team. Justin: That sideline catch was amazing. Jake: Yeah, but then he has moments that you're like, God, this guy is really talented and will do good stuff. He jumps high, he plays for the ball, he fights after he gets the ball, he goes for the yak, he does that stuff. It's great. You know, part of me would love to see what would happen if Sanchez and Braylon Edwards were given a full mini camp, a full OTAs, full training camp together, full preseason together, to get on the same page. I think if those two could get Sanchez to be a better quarterback and get... Braille and I wish to be a better wide receiver. I think those two could be dangerous, very dangerous, right? Anyway, so that was it. You know, it's the whole thing about knucklehead, and they call him a knucklehead. Fuck that. All right, well, then let's move on. All right, so let's talk about our pick. It's not a big deal. That's the end of that game. We won, and the Jets are now 6-6, which puts us in a playoff position. I think we're back from the. We had one foot in the grave and maybe now we're just standing next to the grave. Basically, you know, it boils down to the Jets having to win out.
01 Jake: Gotta go 10 and 6. And then need help. We need other teams to lose. Now this weekend, interesting enough, we got tons of help. Miami beat the Patriots. Only one game didn't really work out in our favor. Justin: Denver! Remember... Jake: but that that wasn't going to happen. I wasn't even thinking that game. Justin: That was the more the Houston Jacksonville game. That would have helped too. Jake: But the nice thing about Jacksonville is they play Miami and I think they play like three of the four people that need to play New England. Justin: They play Miami. Like there's going to be some games. They might play indie. I don't know. Yeah. Where we can cheer for either team. So I don't know if I agree with you. What? Jake: On the whole Miami winning was a good thing. It is because, and I know this is crazy and no one agrees with me on this, but if it happens then I become the genius of all geniuses or recognized because I already am. It becomes, I think we can still win this division. And I know it's, we are two games behind. We're one game in things, but they won the tiebreaker because of division. So we're really two games behind. Justin: Why are we two games behind? Jake: Because they because if we went to tiebreaker with Patriots, they would win because they had our division. Because they've won more games in division. Justin: Even if they lose to them, you're insane. There's no way we're winning. Jake: Why is it? Why is it not insane? OK, let's say we win out. Let's just say we do that. We're 10 and six. Why is it not insane that the Patriots that we've seen who have been stumbling along losing, why is it not insane to see that they will lose to two of the four games? Why is that insane? That's not insane, that's great, that's normal. Okay, they have Carolina at home. They could lose that game. To Carolina at home? I just watched Oakland Raiders go to Pittsburgh and beat the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Why cannot the Carolina Panthers go up to... I watched the Redskins give away the game three times and almost beat the Saints. Why can't it happen? Because they're... Why can't Jacksonville beat New England? Why can't Carolina beat New England? Why can't Houston beat New England in Houston? Why not? Have a good game, start throwing the ball around, why not? It could happen just like you didn't hey listen. I think you picked your scores for the Miami game was like 97 to 2 that's so well. It's like 50 something to three or whatever And you were really wrong Hey, those dolphins are fucking pain in the ass Well, they actually help. I think they help this out. I think they can lose a couple going down the stretch too, starting this week. So anyway, let's get to our picks from last week. How did you do last week, buddy? How did you do? Justin: I beat you. Oh, really? Really. I actually did really well. I think I went 12-4. Jake: You last week? went 12 and 4, good job! Thanks, that was a pretty good week. I went 9 and 7, that sucks. Not so good. Not so good, but I'm keeping pace. Uh, probably, well yeah, you won that week, but since I had a 16, you know, I'm gonna take the rest of the season off, I'm just saying.
05 Jake: I think I'm one up on you now. You might be one up on me. We'll figure it out the end of the season, who did what and where and when and how. Alright, so let's talk about the uh... Either way, I'm the winner. Let's do some throne picks for the upcoming game. So we're gonna pick all the NFL games and then we're gonna pick the G the the AFC East games all four of them And I think greatest team in the world are all for them on the road Let's hope New England's on the road. No, no, no, no Okay, that's the one home game. All right, so let's go the Pittsburgh Steelers reeling from a huge reeling Um, play on Thursday night, they got a short week. They play against Cleveland, division rival, who's... Justin: Big game, big game. Jake: Big game, what do you think happens? I think Cleveland wins. Am I crazy? Yeah, you're crazy. Justin: I think they win, I'll tell you why. Okay. Real quick. Troy Palomolo. They cannot... They... As bad as Cleveland's defense... ...offense is... Pittsburgh couldn't stop Bruce Greg Kowski in the Oakland Raiders Jake: Touchdown fourth quarter. I still don't think that will happen. So I think I'll strike twice. I think what will happen this time is instead of Being up by 20 or seven or whatever. They'll go up by They'll be able to outscore Cleveland. I don't think we'll be able to stick around in the scores Okay, so you're picking Cleveland. I'm picking Pittsburgh. Then we got Cincinnati the mongols at minnesota minnesota coming off a huge uh... monday no system or a loss Justin: the alware where farv kind of went back to his roots he looked like the farv of Jake: two thousand and eight i love it talked about it forever is no interceptions and no idea and and they chose to first off he pissed me off so much in the pre-game Justin: interview with colin's worth What a fucking douchebag. He Collins worth was like so Let's be straight Green Bay forced the Jets on you right and he's like Yeah, I guess so blah blah blah Jake: At the Green Bay Packers that's the truth dude no far it bothers me about far Justin: But that was the truth. Yeah, but if Father's Green... Jake: Truth is that Green Bay did not want him to go to Viking, so they were willing to let him go anywhere but... So they forced you on the Jets. Yeah. And I said, yes. Justin: No, I don't like to think that he was, like, forced to come to our team. I like to think that he sort of wanted to be there, too. Jake: There's no Tooth Fairy. There's no Easter Bunny. There's no Santa Claus. And Farm didn't want to go to the Jets. Well, he was there. Okay? We all set? What do you think? Cincinnati at Minnesota. Minnesota wins. ... ... I agree. Minnesota at home off that wall, so I think they'll come back. Then we get Green Bay off a big win, although... On fire! Yeah, on fire, but they threw interceptions left and right. And they also had a million and a half, both teams had a million and a half penalties. Minnesota going to Chicago, division rival... It's Green Bay. It's Green Bay, and they're gonna win. Yeah, I agree. Green Bay will win that game. And then we have the Miami Dolphins. Fresh off a huge win against the Patriots.
03 Jake: They're heading to Jacksonville, who's playing very inconsistent. Cross state rival. But I would say this is... what do you think? What's going to happen? I'll take Jacksonville. I think Jacksonville at home. I agree. There's something about them playing at home. Justin: Miami's... Jake: Oh, why did we pick this game? We shouldn't have picked this game. Oh, dawg. We fucked up our order. Alright, well come back to it later. Justin: Damn it. Alright, alright. We'll do a deeper analysis later on. Alright, let's do Detroit at Baltimore. The Lions at the Ravens. You know, Baltimore looked like shit last night or we're taping this on Tuesday. So they look like shit on Monday night. and I'll say that they come back and beat Detroit because I mean a rookie quarterback Jake: shouldn't be able to do much against Baltimore. Yeah not in home against Baltimore I agree. Justin: Then we have Seattle at Houston. That was a tough one huh? Uh yeah I'll uh I'll say Houston at home. Jake: Against Seattle, yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle. I said they had a little they little spark last week. They won against 49ers Which surprised me and no, I think I don't like the way Houston's playing. I think they're playing crap I think Seattle wins although they've been very bad on the road. It's probably a crappy pick Alright Denver at Indianapolis a game that we want Indianapolis down bad Justin: I'm gonna pick with the heart and the brain Indy keeps rolling Yeah, India at home. India at home, Denver has trouble with them. We want Denver to go down. We want Indy to go up. Jake: And we want Indy to then go down. We want Jim Sorgy in week 16. That's right, Jim Sorgy. We got the Saints, who I swear almost lost that game three times, or almost won in three times. They should have lost it. Yeah, they should have. Against Atlanta in Atlanta. So Atlanta's been playing. Thanks for watching! If Atlanta playing crappy at home or on the road, but it's been played okay at home. Justin: I don't know what the quarterback situation is here. Is it still Redmond? Jake: Yes, Redmond. Then I got to stay with New Orleans. Yeah, there's no reason to pick against New Orleans. They seem to win no matter what. They'll win ugly, good, bad, sideways, in the moon, doesn't matter. and Elana without Michael Turner who's questionable Without their starting quarterback Maddie ice. I mean, did you see the Eagles go to town on them? Yeah Justin: I mean that the whole offense is just that's old-fashioned with guys Jake: All right Got the rent the next one you got the Rams going to the Tennessee Titans Justin: There's off of big Tennessee's gonna come back and get right back on that horse and keep winning here against st. Louis state Jake: Agreed. Washington reeling from a huge loss goes to Oakland. Now all the way across the country. Justin: On fire. That Oakland Raider team coming off a big win. I'll go with the Raiders. Why not? Jake: Yeah, I think they'll put together a couple of wins here.
02 Jake: They're kind of going to rally behind their troops. I think Washington, again, is doing everything he has to lose. They'll probably do the same. San Diego Chargers who are on fire. Yeah? going to Dallas off a huge loss against the Giants. Justin: Gotta pick against Dallas in December. I mean, I never liked Dallas anyway. I never thought they were very good this year. Don't like Tony Romo. They're not as good as their records as they are. I'm gonna pick San Diego. Jake: Yeah, I think San Diego is a better team, but I do not think that Dallas will lose again. I do not think they'll lose at home. they play better at home. San Diego coming across to do that. Jerry Jones is going to come down to the sideline at halftime and fire. Fire, Wade Phillips. Philadelphia Eagles, this is a huge game. I actually got invited to this game. Are you going? I'm considering it. There's some conflicts of interest in the schedule. uh... but i'm thinking about going and i say eagles at the giants big-time game uh... i think the giants can win this one i want to go to the chance while i guess the giants are doing doing well but if they didn't have those two big blown plays meaning of run back for touchdown and having jacobs run up the sidelines like this i have much he runs like a ten forty and yet he ran up and no one touched him without those two plays they lost that game i think philadelphia will beat them philadelphia has a knack for going into giants like their second home away from home i really think the philadelphia is going to win the nfc east uh... so i think this photo is going to win and then we got the cardinals in uh... sampers is going to 49ers kind of crappy Justin: monday night game on yeah i'm gonna pick arizona might not watch Jake: yap it is on the plane very well they've been playing well road they just beat minnesota homes i think they're gonna they're gonna get themselves right to the playoffs and they could do some damage if they get on a streak there all right so now let's go to the game are a said and i didn't say all right miami at jackson bill Gimme a... Justin: Ooo-ree-won! Jake: Blah-blah-blah! Justin: uh... we win a nsc i believe i picked jackson bill uh... at a time uh... no change a pic no i'm gonna stick with them it's like but then it's uh... some of the stick with jackson bill mammy riding huge high coming off that win against new york and goes in a little overconfident and uh... gets put in their place Jacksonville wins Jacksonville wins low scoring games 16 13 Jake: Yeah, I agree. I mean again for our sake this actually we want Jacksonville to lose this one I don't yeah, we do we do Jacksonville's won ahead Jackson with a tiebreaker over we want to win our division, don't we? Well, I think we can win our division. You don't think we can but so then why are we cheering for Miami? This one's a tough one. Maybe they'll just come out on a tie. I think Jackson will wins 21-20
03 Jake: Does the tie even help us? I don't even know I don't think so Then let's go to the Buffalo game. So Buffalo goes to Kansas City. Yeah Buffalo where they hung up last year. I think they hung up like 53 points on Kansas City Justin: Okay, if you say so I have a good feeling about Buffalo in this game, coming off of the spanking against the Jets. Kansas City doesn't have a Dorell Regis, so they'll be able to start throwing down the field to Owens again. and let that running game start to play. And I'm going to pick Buffalo in a game where the final score is going to be 23-13. Buffalo. Jake: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Picking to anybody in Kansas City. Kansas City's played, sometimes they play very well and then they'll come back and they'll be crappy. Matt Castle's been really crap. I don't know, I just feel the Kansas City's going to take this game. So I'm going to pick Kansas City 17-13. game. Then we got the Carolina Panthers. Woo! Without Jake Deloam, I think he's still out. Gosh. Going to, Carolina Panthers picked, well, just talking about this for the next game, but they picked, was it Josh Freeman, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers five times last week and won? don't think they're gonna be able to do that but what do you think is gonna happen this game? Carolina at uh at New England this is... Justin: I mean this is really setting up to be one of those like 59 nothing games like New England had earlier against Tennessee. We saw Carolina with Jake Deloam which doesn't really mean that they're any better or worse and with the Angela Williams who didn't play this previous week. Um, I have a few of those two guys play, they have no chance. New England in a route, they can't really start on 34... 20? Jake: Yeah, I think New England's gonna win this as much as I think that they... I'd love to see them lose this game. if it is at the upset century and we are a very happy camper but yet new england winds i'm going to score high Justin: it's gonna be lost for a minute on those two in a row let alone three in a row and Jake: the twenty third one being at home twenty four ten in the game of the week although it's at one o'clock in known rose to watch it probably blacked out down there uh... New York Jets traveling down to Tampa Bay take on though. I think one in eight one in now one in they would have to be One in ten or one in eleven. Yeah, they've won one game And they wanted against they wanted to get someone okay Maybe Packers they wanted against creamy Packers. Yeah, so taking on the they got a rookie quarterback They did like shit last week I was watching out of the corner of my eye. What do you think happens here?
01 Justin: Oh, I think the Jets win this game. Jake: Oh, give me first of all, do you think Sanchez starts? Justin: Yeah, I think he does. I think he'll be fine. If he's wearing a brace, fine. But I think he plays. I think he starts. And I think... Do you want a score or do you want a little analysis? Let's give it an analysis and then a score. I don't even know, like... I guess Rebus goes out there and guards Antonio Bryan. You just gotta worry about Winslow in the middle. They don't have much of a running game. And they have a rookie quarterback who I have to imagine Rex Ryan's gonna be able to confuse the shit out of. I cannot see the Jets losing this game. They can't lose this game. They have to win this game. And I think that they can win it without the offense. So if Sanchez doesn't play, I think they can win it with running and field position against this team. Even, you know, I think we're sort of lucky in that respect that this is probably the only team left on our schedule at least that we could play without Sanchez. like the rest of the games right there's no chance without Sanchez this game if Clements plays okay the defense could probably win this game there i think the defense is going to score in this game uh so final score i guess curb a little bit of the enthusiasm for the scoring because don't know if Sanchez is going to play or not uh so i'll go Jake: 26, 6. Wow. Yeah, I think this is, again, no matter, even if Sanchez was feeling 100%, they're going to still do what they're doing, which is we're going to ground the ball, we're going to play good D, we're not going to let you do much, we're going to make half time adjustments. And they've been doing really good at that. Justin: Yeah, they have. Jake: I think this, I think you're going to see, I'm going to call a couple things. It's going to be crazy, but I'm going to call a couple things. One is, if we get up too high, they will pull Sanchez. You will see them pull Sanchez, I'll say, beginning of the fourth quarter. I'm going to pull Sanchez. That's one. Two, just to give him a rake and just not to risk anything else happen. Two, burning Goldstein gets his first sack in this game. I'm just saying it. I'm saying it now. I'm saying it. If it happens, I'm saying it. If it happens, I want all sorts of accolades. He's not even getting on the field. He'll get on the field and he will have one sack. That will be his only sack for the season before someone puts him off. His first sack and only sack is his career. And the other thing, I do think the special teams or the defense are going to score. Probably the. Defense they probably more chance, but so I think this is gonna be a route. Yeah, I think it'll be at 31 10 I think they'll I think they'll get down there for something towards the end over under Justin: three and a half on turnovers forced on Them yeah, Jets defense causes or forces over under three and a over
00 Jake: Over on the three and a half. I could see two sacks and a fumble. I could see three interceptions. The guy threw five interceptions last week. Now this is my one thing, is that you got Ronde Barber. And Ronde Barber is a ball hawk. Now he's way past his prime and whatever, but that's my one concern. It's like, just make sure you make where he is. Because I've seen way too many games, so that guy's just nowhere. And then all of a sudden, boop, and he goes back for six. Thanks. against a lot of teams so let's hope they watch that. So that's it. 31.10 that's what I'm calling and that's the end of the podcast.
