04 Jake: This is episode 55 of the Jet Kingdom Podcast from Monday, October 26, 2009. Get that early on. of the women. Justin: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. As always, on the victorious Digital Isle or this side. Is Jake a little off on a Monday get it out to put it out would you? Haven't had my I haven't had my podcast juice here have a victory juice. Hold on. Let me give you some podcast juice There you go. And let me tell everybody that I am pouring this in a Titans pint glass Jake: the titans of Tennessee or New York Justin: as I trip on my keyboard this is gonna be a good one uh, is Jake, Jake, Jake on this side and I'm joining me, as always on the other side is uh my buddy Justin, Justin how you doing? Jake: oh hi everybody hahaha I'm doing good, we're all laughs and smiles after we beat a girls' JB team yeah it's awesome Nothing like a win to make you a... Nothing like a high school team to give you the giddies. Justin: Yeah, yeah, I actually said to someone, you know, it's interesting because usually we have much more time to prepare or to think about things, so I haven't really had a lot of time to take in all the things that happened. The world of football and including the game tonight, which hasn't even happened Jake: But one thing I did say I already took in tonight's game. Yeah, it clearly Justin: One thing I was interesting is I kept saying to people, you know We a Jets win and I am into football all things football I want to watch every game every play every countdown a Jets loss and I'm like Football's dead to me. I don't care. I don't want to watch a thing. I don't care. All football is dead to me for at least until Wednesday. So it is an interesting... I watched the entire Giants game last night. Whole thing. Jake: Why? How could you watch that when there was a baseball game happening? Because baseball is for people who don't understand football. Oh, okay. Justin: So the rest of the I know it's a New York podcast and yes, I'm sure there's some Mets fans and yes Jake: I'm sure Yankee fans go Yankees. I guess they're in them in the thing that end the Super Bowl. Whatever it is It's a it's a very interesting time in New York Especially this past Sunday was great next Sunday's gonna be even more interesting when the Giants are in Philly to play the Eagles The Yankees are in Philly to play the Phillies on the same day across the street from each other
01 Justin: That will be quite interesting. That is that's a good that's a good observation I like that good going, but I don't care about baseball you can go and Yankees Kingdom or whatever the fuck you can go talk about that anyway, this is a jet I wonder if that exists so it's let's talk about the game that was let's talk about the Jets heading out to Oakland, in which in all intents and purposes usually would be a very big trap game. A horrible, horrible Oakland team who had just came off a win against the Eagles. And the Jets off a three game losing streak where Mark Sanchez put up probably the worst game of his career. I have this very long. Career and basically went to town. I mean for anybody who didn't pay attention news flash Jets walloped them 38-0. They could not score a point. They pulled the Marcus ruffle out of the game and Yeah, it was like playing a high school team. Give me some thoughts. What do you think about the game and how it went down? Jake: I mean hey Aside from one major, major injury, which was Leon, as we all know, Leon's out for the season, this was a great win. I mean, if we didn't win big, I think we would have thought that this team is not. going to win too many more games. And if they lost then we would have been in big trouble. But we seemed to be clicking on defense right from the first play. And then on offense we made it kind of easy. We ran the ball again for quite a few yards with this kid named Sean Green who apparently can play some football. At least against Oakland he could. while running out the game. But they knew he was running and he was running past them. A little...reminded me a little bit of Leon, so we'll see how he plays the rest of the season. But all in all, a great game. The defense looked great. The shutouts always good. Second game in a row that we've finished the game against the backup quarterback for the opposing team, which is always a good thing. and you know our quarterback looked good. He didn't really turn the... Did he turn the ball over? I don't even know if he turned the ball over one time. There were no turnovers. No turnovers. That is how you win the game, right? You don't turn the ball over once and you force quite a few and you run the ball for another 300 something yards for the second game in a row and that's how you win games. Justin: Yeah, I mean I guess we should get the bad news out so we can go on and celebrate. Let's just get it out of the way. You know, Lee Ann Washington broke two bones. I got the latest just recently, I guess off the Twitterverse. He broke fibula and his tibula.
00 Justin: Um, sounds yummy. Yeah, they both broke they put in a Rod to help out the tibula the fibula. I guess they feel like it's gonna Heal by itself. They put on ir today. He's doing well. He'll fly back on wednesday or thursday on the jet's private plane and Um, you know should should heal fine. I mean I think it's a huge, huge loss. I mean, Leon Washington, beyond just his physical talents, which we think he's a game changer. He's someone who always gets the ball in his hands, can do something amazingly. Beyond all of that, he's just a spark of life on this team. There are players who for some reason or another, maybe it's their attitude, maybe it's whatever, they just, you think of them as sort of a heart of the team. And he was one of them. And, you know, there's, we'll talk, there's actually a question from Twitter about the long term prospects of Lee in Washington, so we'll get to that later. But it's yeah, it's a huge huge bummer But you know the game sort of went on without him And I think that if we're gonna have a an upside to losing one of the best players on our team actually Now he's lost two of the best players on our team Jenkins going out last week is that we're starting to see some other players step up and You know, Sean Green, we've been saying for a while, let's see this guy, let's see this guy, is he going to come in, are we going to blow out, are we going to put him in? You know, and the guy blew it up. I mean, I re-watched the highlights about half an hour ago, and just amazing to watch him not get hit, and then bounce out of it. His run for touchdown, or two touchdowns, was really nice. He's really low. So. Yeah, he does. He stays very low and when he's about to get hit, he goes low to get an extra yard. I really like everything I've seen about him so far. I'm excited to see him play. I'm excited to give him the ball. And he actually gives a nice one-two punch with, you know, he's definitely got more giddy up than Thomas Jones. Thomas Jones, way faster. I think we should talk crap about Thomas Jones every week because he, you know, you say he's old and he's washed up and he can't get more than a couple yards and that next week, man, he hits it. Jake: You know what he is? He needs 26 rushes a game. That's what happens. Because he's a guy who's gonna run for one and run for two. But like, in the fourth quarter, he runs for 6, 7. And like, you just don't give up when you have Thomas Jones on the team. We're guilty of it, because once you watch Thomas Jones run for 4 yards on 8 carries, you're ready to give up. And it's like, you gotta know better. He's a gamer. He comes out and he runs for... you know another big game again we sort of gashed there they're both sides of the ball where our line was dominant on on both sides offense and defense which is commendable for the defensive
03 Jake: line to be missing you know shawn ellis came out of this game too he didn't finish the game i don't know if he played in the second half at all so uh you know very commendable who was that guy number 95. Justin: last name was green oh uh it's the one we resigned um we just resigned him david just Jake: resigned him yeah he was he was he was the guy who released it's h h green what's his first name harry green wow that's bad don't just make up harry that's like that's like stupid Go on. We're doing a show here. Don't just make up. Don't just make something up. His name's Howard. Howard Green. Of course. Howard Green. He's a big motherfucker. I mean, he's 6'2", 320, but there's no way he's 320. He's a good 350. He's a big boy. So, I... He came in and... played really well he really did so so i i like the way he played uh in up front and and obviously tavito played all right filling in and and that's just what we're gonna have to do i think i think howard green looked better than seo nipua to be honest um but that was just me you know watching from a long ways away on television uh i'm obviously not the expert am i to say Justin: Yeah, I thought it was again, you know going back to the game certain points that we should sort of talk about one is the Raiders sucks anything you saw in this game was just a Oh, yeah, they do suck to is I like that they actually knew everybody knew what we were gonna do right? This was this was a game where I think you know Rex Ryan said last week. We're gonna do we're gonna run the ball ground and pound we're gonna I mean like he gave the offensive You know playbook out and was there seems shot he stuck to it I mean shot Nimer somehow has a way to you know, they want to mix it up to do this yet He just stuck to it and it was working. I like even on you know, even when it was fourth and fourth and goal 0-0, fourth in goal, you're thinking, why don't you walk away with some points? You're on the road, walk away with some points. Put a field goal. He's like, no, go in for it. Went for it, scored a touchdown. And that sort of was, you know, I don't want to get to my play of the game yet, but I mean that play, when you score, you go up 7-0 in the first 10, you know, 40 seconds of the game. That kind of puts a... That's a chink in their armor. And also the other thing is they just quit. That team just quit. They just like, whatever. We're done. We're out of here. And they quit with their fans. The fans all went home. And they went home. And they just let us walk around on the field afterwards and score points, play a game of pick. Pick up. All right, so why don't you give me your since we're winners. This is good three weeks now
01 Justin: Haven't had a winner. We've been doing fools Jake: Let's give me your play the game and your night of the game and maybe they interplay or not go for it They actually don't interplay at all. Good. Good job whatsoever I don't want them to interplay. So my play of the game was the first play from Scrij, which is Calvin Pace's sack, strip, recover. Although I think someone else recovered it. But it set us up for an immediate score. after not having received the kickoff, which is great. You know, when you go up like seven, nothing like you just said within the first couple minutes and, you know, you get the ball first, the halftime, that's a good thing. And pace was kind of all over the place for the whole game. He's sort of unstoppable. but with that I'm actually gonna go to the offensive side of the ball to pick my night and I'm gonna give it to David Clowney. Nice! Yeah, I'm gonna give it to the clownster because he showed up he made a nice catch on a big third down pass from from Sanchez earlier early in the game when there were big plays and then he made that nice touchdown grab which is a really nice adjustment to a nice throw from Sanchez, a 35 yard throw that was really nice and you know they were You know, Breyland Edwards has only been on the team for like two weeks, two and a half weeks, three weeks at the most. Cottree's out, they were showing replays of like whole team just swarming around Breyland Edwards. He's the only guy they're covering. So clowning showing up is good, it makes the other team respect the fact that we have somebody else out there who can catch the wall and Despite being down a couple receivers So there were there were a couple guys that that stepped up and played fairly well at receiver But I'm gonna give it to clowny because he made the most impact Justin: Yeah, I mean I loved the play of the game. I think that was that was a game changer Yeah, I'm tough on my play game. I'll say a couple things. When your number one receiver gets one catch for 14 yards and Wallace Wright, who's a special team guy, gets two for 21 yards. And David Clowney, who's someone who no one probably even knew outside of the Jets and serious hardcore jet fans. uh... with seventy nine yards and touchdown in the end zone that was that was really nice stuff i agree as for play the game i don't know so many was at the reavis pick in the end zone that sort of just you know sort of put them away was it
00 Justin: was it mark sanchez's run you know run for touchdown Jake: uh... Justin: you know uh... I think I'm gonna go with the hot dog. I'm gonna go with the hot dog eating. Jake: The hot dog eating. That's not even a football play. That is such a cop out. That is just such a way to mention the hot dog eating. Justin: Which is such not a big deal by the way. I'm sorry but I've had a discussion with some friends today about this and uh... Were people like heated up about this? Well here's my thing. Okay. What is it that they do in baseball constantly on the and when they're sitting there not on field what do they do? Jake: If they're in the dugout. Yeah, what do they do? What are they constantly doing? They're eating seeds. They're chewing gum. They're going in the back. They're doing whatever. What's the difference between eating seeds and speeding out and eating a hot dog? I... He was out of the game. I had no problem with it. I really didn't even if he was going back in the game I mean the guy clearly Needed it. He said he wasn't feeling well. He wanted to get something in his stomach. So that was that I had I had no problem I don't know why anyone would they're saying is disrespectful. Oh, give me a break. That's it I'm thinking well, okay, so he's trying to hide it. I mean you just can't there's 50 billion cameras Justin: If there's if it's 13 3 if it's tied 13 3 and he's having a hot dog to go back into overtime to take, to go for. Let's say last week, he's having a hot dog because he needs some nourishment between... Is that disrespectful? Or is it only disrespectful because he's having a hot dog? And the other thing... Well, here's the other thing. Jake: Maybe he's not like... Justin: Go ahead, I'm sorry. Maybe he's disrespectful. Here's why he's disrespectful. I actually know. I figured it out. Because he didn't order... Another one for the other quarterback. He should have thrown one over to DeMarcus. If he had put up his hand and go, two hot dogs, one for me, one for him. And then threw a perfect spiral across the field. Here's why it's not disrespectful. One more thing. First of all, if it was a foot long, now that's disrespectful. Don't go foot long. If you're going to go a hot dog in the middle of the game... Don't go footlong, but it wasn't a footlong and he didn't even go catch up. He could have gone catch up No, he didn't he went just mustard. I'm saying play the game just mustard on the hot dog eating it But he held it. He didn't drop that Jake: Dog, I say great play. That's my play the game to bring this back to reality for a moment It really wasn't disrespectful. I mean, he wasn't walking around on the sideline waving the hot dog around, eating a hot dog, hanging out next to Kellen Clemens, you know, eating a hot dog as Kellen Clemens is getting ready to go in the game. He was hiding it on the sideline on the bench after he had already come out of the game. It wasn't like he was... you know walking around with a bag of chips or in like a beer you know it's really not that big a deal i don't see the big big thing with it but if it's your play of the game hey it's your play
00 Jake: of the game it is it is my play it's your prerogative it is my play of the game and for uh Justin: for play of the game i'm gonna give it to uh you just you just named your play of the game no that's my play my player my night and night game yeah we're really not firing in all similar orders today. Night of the game, giving it to the Rook. Sean Green, way to come. I think he said like seven carries all up to this point. You know, 19 attempts, 144 yards. Two touchdowns. That's the kind of thing I want to see out of... the number one running back in the league, let alone the rookie off the bench. So again, if there's something under the covers of a horrible loss to one of the best players on our team, it is that I think we found another guy who wants to play, who can seriously hit the hole, who can make people miss and has some giddy up. And so I give it to Sean Green, good job bro. Jake: How about the announcers not having a clue that Danny Woodhead was actually running back? come on man they were having on talk mean how do they not know how do you not do your homework and not know that the guy just cuz he's wearing 83 and is listed as receiver isn't actually running back because because that's the way they are that's how good they are that's how good that Justin: team is arm so that's that's the game I mean that's about it Jake: word that's about it that game is just we just ate that game Like a hot dog. That's really bad. So we talked about hot dog gate. I hope it's out forever Let's talk about how you did in the in your picks last week. How'd you do buddy? Hmm? I think you actually beat me for the first time Yeah, baby. That's right. You did you beat me. I won 7 I went 7 and 5 but I do recall picking Bengals to spank Chicago and that did happen. That's true. You also picked this game doing much Justin: Much more about than I did I I was I had trepidation about this game Jake: Yeah, I thought we'd kill the in this game and that came true, too. Yes, you were much more on for that one. So Justin: In terms of you know doing well in that see yeah you Yeah, I went I had eight right you had seven although who'd you pick tonight you could catch up. Oh, that's true I can't catch up now. I picked the Eagles. He can't catch up Jake: You're not catching up yeah Justin: Yeah, I didn't I didn't see I saw the Patriots destroying the the box although I thought I'd be much closer than that Didn't see the Bills winning down there crazy. They did there Saints I thought I thought my good call was that I thought it'd be closer than everybody thought it would Some people thought it was close for a little while. They had a Point they had 21-point lead. That's I mean, that's another podcast for another time, but the Dolphins collapsed they let they let
01 Justin: They stink Jake: Well, you were texting me like no the Dolphins are too good The dolphins are too good. We don't have a chance. They're too good. I- The dolphins are very good. We can't even beat them. Justin: You take a screenshot of those things and you sent it to me because I never said those words. Jake: Are you kidding me? You wrote- I said the real deal. The dolphins are too good. That's what you wrote. And then I wrote fuck them never you don't know that oh boy I'm gonna have to pull out screenshots and post them everywhere you do that post right to Twitter And I also saw the Giants winning with that Yeah, I yeah, I missed it lost to an arrow Justin: Alright, let's talk. Let's do week 8 So as everybody knows because you've been following along because you're a big fan of the podcast we pick all the games we Straight up and then we pick and we go for talk a little bit more in depth with including scores of the AFC East games. So let's start. Jake: Yeah, it's fun to pick the games for the next week before the previous week is over, but yeah, whatever. Let's start with eagles at... Let's pick that again. Justin: Eagles at Washington. Jake: Yeah, I guess we can pick it again. I'll take the eagles. Justin: All right, I'll take the eagles again. All right. I still haven't changed my mind. Double up. Umm... All right next week Denver undefeated Denver coming off their buy against Baltimore Jake: Looking at the same list in the same order are we all right? I have Baltimore in this game Justin: Denver at Baltimore both off buys yeah, it's very picking on the fly here Jake: Home team I want to go both more on that one We're getting their first loss there then I guess well Baltimore's already had a loss It's Edward Denver. Yes, I will get the first loss Houston at Buffalo tough game. I know and Buffalo Announced that they're staying with the fits. Yep. They they like the fits And they're sticking with them. Um, so... Justin: By the way, what happened to your Atlanta Falcons yesterday? Jake: Oh, they just... Oh. They just, you know, faced a team that had, uh, coming off of the bye week at home and just went into a buzz saw. Um... So they lost. what happened to us not picking the fc's games until after we pick Justin: again we are not far as skip that game cleveland at chicago public home team chicago yes i was gonna come back off a huge huge gloss yesterday and i i don't beat the hell out of them cut were not looking so good though Giants off a big loss on Sunday night going to play Philly after their huge win against Redskins Jake: You know, this is this is a game that I kind of want to call
03 Jake: After I see what happens with the first couple games in the World Series I think that that could literally have some sway over this game I'm gonna pick the Giants just because I want New York to batter Philly. Yeah. Yeah Justin: I mean they didn't look good yesterday though at all. I didn't see a minute of the game I just I watch the whole thing. I really can't I really can't see them losing three in a row So I'm gonna go with the Giants. Although I think it will be close And I'll probably change my mind 49ers at Indy undefeated Indy Jake: I'm gonna keep them undefeated. Yeah Colts win that game Justin: Seattle off their by in Dallas Jake: It's odd This is I think gonna surprise you but I'm gonna pick Seattle off of the by cuz I I really like Homegrown off the by Yeah, it doesn't matter who's off the bike. It's not Holmgren anymore though, is it? No, it's not. Because Holmgren doesn't coach there anymore. It's Jim Mora. In tradition of Holmgren, wow, we are way off. In the tradition of Holmgren coming off the bike. This is the Monday edition of the Jet Kingdom podcast. No, Dallas will win. This is the Hangover edition. The Hangover edition. Justin: Dallas will win. They played very well yesterday. Yes. today. They I see you know Romo Romo played well, I thought the defense stood up in the second half. I think Dallas will win again Rams at Detroit Wow, there's a barn burner, please. Can I get that? Yeah, that's the week Jake: Seriously, that's the game of the week right there. That's blacked out in every market They're just not even sending TV crews to this game They should set that for everything. I'll take the home team. I'll take Detroit. Yeah. I think I'll take the Rams. If Detroit wins that game, that'll be their third win. I think I'll take the Rams. Oakland at- Is that scary or what? Justin: Oakland, the wonderful Oakland Raiders at San Diego. Wow, another burn brewer. Oh Jake: Oh, I can never pick Oakland to win another game Did you see Al Davis? He really looked dead. Yeah, he does today. I'm surprised he was out Justin: after the Sun sets like yes, yeah, he might be like Jake: Dead like weekend at Bernie's dead like they just wheel him out like he might really be dead I think anyway I'm taking San Diego yeah San Diego to win Justin: Jaguars at Tennessee, at Tennessee off their buy Jake: um man I cannot come on Tennessee I'm picking Tennessee yeah you can't lose that game you lose that game off your buy against a pretty bad Jacksonville team yeah I don't think so uh Tennessee wins first win in the season division game right isn't it a division game? they're in the same division and i think they're both coming off the bye but still i mean huge four o'clock game
02 Justin: minnesota vikings at green bay packers far with his first loss Jake: why is this a four o'clock game? why is this not on national television? because it's not week ten yet so you can't flex them What a dumb shit that is. Wow. Justin: That is so dumb. Yeah, we can Tivo it. Maybe that's what I'll do. Maybe I'll Tivo it and come home and watch it. Jake: But I'm not going to be able to see this game. Why? Because I don't... I don't... I'm going to get one game at that. time I imagine it'll probably be the giant game with giants on it and what time are the Justin: jets on one how are they both on it one because there's no Monday night game does that make Jake: any sense now that we're serious now cheese fuck you nfl uh... What game are we picking? The Vikings say Green Bay. Fire at Green Bay. Green Bay punishes F.A.R.V. in this game. I'll take Green Bay. Justin: I'll say Green Bay wins in this one too. Panthers at Arizona Cardinals. Cardinals go back home and see if they can take off the Panthers. Jake: Yeah, Arizona is starting to roll. And it's starting to look like... Team that made it to the Super Bowl after beating the Giants on the road. I'll take Arizona Justin: Yes, thanks. Definitely take care Carolina in this game if you want to lose you're taking Carolina No, of course not Cardinals Cardinals wins No Sunday night game then Monday Yeah, I guess this is actually a pretty good game not bad Falcon at Falcon's at Saints so undefeated Saints back my Falcons your Falcons who aren't looking very good Jake: um... yeah what do you think? I guess you have to pick your Falcons tough game for my Falcons yeah I'll pick my Falcons Justin: uh... your Falcons are not gonna win this game although I think they have a good shot because it is indoors but they're a horrible road team still saying it. Norwin's back at home Saints doing well, Breeze with a nice tan from Miami Yeah, no Saints win Jake: And that's it. So Miami blew that game at home yesterday. Yeah, they were up 21. That was a home game for the dolphins. Justin: Twenty forty three. So here's the way it went down. They were twenty four to three. I was kind of watching it, you know, on the other screen. Twenty four to three. They had five seconds left to go in the half. Saints were at the two yard line. They were going to kick a field goal. Dolphins call the timeout which no one can still figure out why Breeze gets in this end of Peyton's ear tells him no no let's go for it They go for it they get the touchdown they go out ten so it's ten to twenty four they go on there Then they come out and And Henny throws a pick So they're right back in it. They're 17 24 and then they basically went back and forth, but the But Saints just, they had a monster a second half
01 Justin: and scored and scored and scored. And then the end, when it came time for the Dolphins to move down the field quickly, you got a minute 40, minute 55 to go, they started throwing the ball. Nope, can't do that. And guess what happens? You can't throw the ball because you don't have any weapons. I mean, Ted Jyn Jr's dropping balls again. in. So I mean, I love the Wildcat. It is very hard to stop. The way to beat the Wildcat is you have to get a huge lead, so they have to abandon it, or to make them be the last. This is the thing. We could have won that Monday night game if we had made them go down the field in 30 seconds. If we left them. Yeah, we gave them a little too much time. Yeah, we gave them too much time, and then they leave ourselves enough time. So now let's get to the AFCs. We got two games, because the. Two. Patriots are off. So let's talk about the Houston Texans going to Buffalo Jake: What do you see in this game? Yeah, I see I see nothing in this game I see a backup quarterback in this game losing to Houston Yeah at home the bills cannot Yeah, they're not winning three in a row. It's not happening. That team is not that good. I mean, their defense is the best part of that team, and I think Houston's going to pick it apart. They're not going to be able to keep up. Backup quarterback's going to get exposed. Um... yeah. I don't see it happening for the Bills in this game. And the score will be... 27 13. Justin: Wow, you know what? I picked against the Bills for a couple weeks now. I keep losing when I do, so I'm not going to pick against them. I'm going to say that coming off the big win against Panthers, they come back home. Jake: It gets cold a big win against a shitty team. Yeah, but so what they want against us Justin: They want I say they go three they go three they win this game 20 to 17 I think Houston in the cold doesn't they don't like it no like II I think the I think they win this game 2017 and then the rematch It seems like game of the century feels like we just got off this game the Miami Dolphins Come to town, Chad Henney, the Wildcat, Jason Taylor, Joey Porter, who had so many penalties yesterday, all come to town and take on the New York Jets, the number one rushing team in the NFL, New York Jets. Really? Yeah, 1200 and something yards, yeah. Wow, better than the dolphins, that's surprising. They're number five. We're running, we're averaging 186 yards per game or something ridiculous. Holy shit. Well, two, three hundred games will do that to you. So, uh, what do you think? Give me a little thought and a prediction on this game, buddy. Jake: Well, here's the first thing. You know who won't be coming? Will Allen. Will Allen's out for the season.
01 Jake: Will Allen is the Dolphins starting cornerback. Opposite their first round pick, Fonte Davis. Which means that they'll be starting their second round pick, Sean Smith. Which means that they'll be starting two rookie cornerbacks. Hopefully the Jets will have Jericho Cottree back Unfortunately, it's only Monday. So as of the time we're recording this so we really have no idea but Reports were sort of leaning towards him looking to come back for this game So I like the way that that matches up I also like the fact that they've beaten us already this year and they Although it was a really close game. They beat us They were the one team that has Made Rex Ryan's defense look silly other teams have not done that to them at all Other teams have not been able to score on them have not been able to do anything to them The Dolphins are the only team that so far have been able to do such things So I think we're gonna have some special plans uh... for this game and it's going to be at home and it's going to be loud uh... and and hopefully uh... we're gonna force a fumble or two uh... out of that wildcat which will make them think about a little bit hopefully and uh... i see the jets winning this game it's gonna be close like these games always are uh... it's not going to be very high scoring So I'll go with 1610 victory for the gents Wow gonna go low I Justin: Very low as I tweeted not about them being so good I tweeted them being that I worry about this game. This is not a game, you know I actually think we match up worse against the dolphins than we do against the Patriots. For as blasphemous as that might seem. Blasphemy. The Patriots are a throw first team. I think we have better, we have a great secondary. You know, I think that our run defense has been suspect, has let some schlubs do some good running. I mean, we've won games and let people run on us and we've lost game by letting people run on us. Jake: So... Justin: You know, this game comes down to me, it comes down to two game plans, basically same game plan which is we have rookie quarterbacks who are not going to put the ball in their hands, we both have good runners, we're going to run the ball, we both have good offensive lines, one's going to use the wildcat and one's going to use the trillion dollar offensive offensive line and we're both going to run the ball. And whoever can stop the run. and run the ball wins this game. I think that will be the Jets. I mean, I think that for everything you said, I like the rematch. I like being at home. I like being at 98 degrees on a Monday night. I like the crowd noise.
00 Justin: I implore every fan out there to rest up. Don't speak from Friday morning until Sunday so you can rest your voice up. uh... it will be on believe without just just based on what happened last week and this being the rematch uh... and i think that you have rex ryan again has been a good for a long time but something he says that this is this is something in his car he didn't like it embarrassing his defense can embarrass we've lost a king says huge i think they're gonna play a lot more for fronts i think they're gonna put a lot more guys put in 15, 20 guys in the field. No, I mean, I think they're gonna switch them out more. And you know what? I think that'll work out for us. I think having pace back in full form, not just as the guy who does the, you know, as the guy who came back and hasn't played for a bit, he looked much, much better in that game against Oakland. Yeah, I think we win this game. I think it's closer and I think it's actually, I think they'll score. I think it'll be 31, 23 jets. Wow. Yeah, I think we're going to score some points. And I think we're going to get the Chet Henny. That's what we need to do. He's got to hold the ball at least some point. You can only do, well, I guess you can do the whole game in Wildcat, but that would sort of not go very far. We got to get to him. We got to rattle him a little bit. Last time we never touched him, we got to rattle him, got to hit him, got to sack him, got to strip him. Thank you. Thank you. Jake: uh... you know we can sit back there and be and look good also have to be able to run the ball you know against the dolphins i don't think we ran uh... we run the ball very effectively against the last time i don't believe we did no one really does they're like in the top five and rushing a lot uh... rushing yards allowed per game so you know what we'll have to get our running game going as well because That's how we'll be able to play with this team. They like to control the ball and run the ball themselves. So hopefully we'll be able to do that to them. Justin: Yeah, I think get, you know, I know it's the game plan for every game, which is getting the lead and hold on to it. But especially with them, we if we could just get up seven or 10 points on them and they kind of get them out of their comfort zone. You know, I think that's. Technically to win so I'm gonna call it Jets win revenge and then as you know in my household we don't speak for another 12 hours We do have a tweet of the week a tweet twat can I say It's a tweet from actually a Jets fan across the seas I'm just looking him up now. The Danish Jets blog, which I think is kind of funny, has posted on Twitter. Go on. Jet Kingdom. What does Leon Washington's injury do to his chances at remaining a New York jet? Lots of financial decisions coming up next year. So I think this is the sad state of, not sad,
01 Justin: but sort of the business aspect of the NFL. So, Leanne. went into contract negotiations. They take you as off for something like 4.5 million a year, didn't want to wait for five. So they were still in negotiations, but probably going to be this whole thing with the uncapped year next year and all the sort of stuff that's going on. I don't think the Jets were in any hurry to resign him. He is not an unrestricted free agent next year. So. My guess is he will be a jet. I just think what this hurts him is he just lost millions of dollars in essence. That's what happened. He lost millions of dollars because he got hurt and I think he'll make a recovery. I think he'll be back to his form. I think Thomas Jones is gone. Sean Green is the running back and if we in Washington make the full recovery, that's a great one to punch. Jake: Let's not go that far. I mean oh, it's not just project out that you know Thomas Jones is gone Sean greens the running back well once we win the Super Bowl Justin: the You know um that's that's the way I think it's I mean Sean Green was curly brought in as the Thomas Jones replaced me wasn't brought in as the land Washington replacement Jake: Well, I don't I don't I don't look at it that way. I I don't think that there's Fine, you could be the Thomas Jones replacement, but that doesn't mean that Leon Washington would get 20 carries. You know what I mean? Like, I think the Jets offense as it is is not a one running back offense. There's two. So there's clearly enough carries and enough touches for two guys, not one. A, I don't think this does anything. to Leon Washington financially to be honest. I don't know if he takes that big of a hit, number one and number two. As for his future with the Jets, I think he's with the Jets. If anything, this would make other teams... We know what he is. They look at him now as an injured player. So we know what he means to us, and now we will see how much he means to us now. We can almost quantify it. We'll see what happens when he's gone. So, I don't know. I think we will see him as a jet. I'm not sure what it does to his finances. Yeah, no, I think it takes a hit on his fans. Justin: There's no way he's going to cut it. He doesn't have the... It's a bargaining positioning. He doesn't have the bargaining power anymore. It's a sad thing. I still think he'll be a jet. I still think he'll play. I'm happy to have him on the team. I hope I'm a speedy recovery and that's it.
