09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Jake: Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Welcome to the Jet Kingland podcast. As always on this side of the digital aisle, it's Jake joining me on a special episode, special after-school episode entitled We Ain't Lion. Justin and I was gonna say Jake and I. Justin and I, Justin say hi to the people. Hello people. Justin and I are gonna do two, not one. two podcasts this week. We're just so excited that we beat the lions that we have to do two podcasts. We have gotten some feedback from fans that yeah that they want they don't like it that we wait till Thursday. I said that. But here's a fan and I said that. And here's what I think is a good compromise. The reason we generally wait till Thursday is because that's when to talk about the next week. It's hard to talk about this week. Like, it's not next week's games when there's still a game tonight and the injuries and people being fired hasn't really happened. I mean, you know, it takes a couple days to happen. It takes a couple days to get fired into the mix. And, you know, Thursday is the next kickoff. There'll be a Thursday night game. Justin: So, we're gonna split it up for this week. Jake: And if it's wildly successful and you love it, I'd love to let, you know, let us know. It tweet to us or whatever. We're all on Facebook. Let us know. We're gonna break it up into two podcasts. One's gonna talk about this week What happened yesterday and sort of the games and then that's it and on Thursday We'll record another one talking about what's coming up to two for the price of one. Are you excited? I couldn't be more excited Let's talk about well, there's only one agenda what happened yesterday We beat the Lions. Justin: The Lions! I never thought I'd be so excited to have beaten the Lions, but they're tricky. They're not bad. They have some talent on offense. When Stafford gets down the field, they are dangerous. But he doesn't do that very well. He's not good at staying on the field. Jake: He is not good at staying on the field. This is a game... I guess like all games. Actually today I was watching the recap of the game and I thought the one thing that this occurred to me was this is very much like the Denver game. We're away. We're against a team that, now looking at the Denver's record, we should be. But they're a good team and they're a scrappy team and they can put at home they have a better chance. Anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Any given Sunday. Most overused. Any given Sunday. It's horrible. Only use it again. On any given Sunday. On any given Sunday. Start every paragraph with on any given Sunday. The Browns can beat the Patriots. That is coming up in a second. So, I look at this game and I think,
02 Jake: you know, what is it about the Jets that we come out so sloppy. So I actually tweeted, was tweeting a lot during the game. I was not, I stayed away from the Twitter. Many obscenities. And basically saying, why do we look sleepy? This is the 89th episode of the podcast and that's, first thing I wanna talk about is the drops from Mr. 89. Khatri's gotta stop. I mean he is, dropping balls that are in his hands. cannot do that anymore. And we, that's the sort of, the one big thing in this game was the drops. He had one I think. He had two. Two. Justin: Plus three three from last week. Well last week was terrible. I was watching with a crowd of people and a lot of them were Giant fans. And uh. They were like, oh, why would he throw that ball? And it's too hard to catch. I was like, are you serious? He's a professional wide receiver who got hit in the stomach with a football. Like his job is to catch that ball on a slant. Like why did he run that slant? Because it was like second and nine, and he would have gained six or seven yards on an easy slant if he just would have caught it. caught it. It's like, oh, it's a tough catch. It hit him in the chest. Like it hit him literally in the stomach. Jake: And thankfully, the other receivers were actually catching the ball. Yeah, Santoni led a good game. Edwards had, you know, one big, big play there. You know what, if that's all he does, if he only does one big play for a touchdown every time, I'll be happy. So Tony was showing up because I started to question him. It's thinking, you know, are you all that in the hat? We've seen fumbles from him. We've seen drops from him. Last week was a lot of drops. So again, I was like, this is a team team. Why does it take second or third quarter to show up when we're down and desperate? And I'll tell you, going into that last four minutes of the game, down by 10, four minutes ago, So, While I always hope that we can win a game, and there's, I, you know, I stay to the end of the game, I don't when you're not sitting. I always hope that, last tick of the clock, we get a shot. And so I was tweeting Believe and all this stuff at the end. But in my heart of hearts, deep down, I was like. I was preparing myself for the loss. For a loss to the Lions. I was preparing myself for the talk and the next day and the... Justin: I had my fool already picked out for the podcast. You had already picked your fool? Yeah. Before the game ended? Yeah. Who was it? Drew Coleman. I had my fool already picked out. Just because he got burned by Burleson. Jake: Covered Nate Burleson. Oh my god. Nate Burleson? Is he the greatest ever? Him and Johnson just switched... uniform numbers so that Revas would cover Burleson. Well, that's all the big news. Guess who's back? I think Revas is back. Back again. He's back. He's back. Last two weeks, he's been very good. He really shut down Calvin Johnson. They went after him on the first play, and it was like, balls in the air, and it's like, oh, no.
03 Jake: Because Calvin Johnson's running down, and that's a catch he makes every time. First of all, I hate that nickname, Megatron. Damien Woody gave it to him. Really? Yeah. I hate Damien Woody for giving him that Megatron. Come on. Cadillac Williams, Megatron. I like the name Megatron. Dirty Sanchez. That's a cool-ass nickname. If you're a receiver and your nickname's Megatron, that is cool. Not if he's not on my team. He's on my team, that's cool. Professor Holmes. We gotta come up with some better ones. But Remus made that play on the first throw at a game. down the field. That's a catch Johnson makes like every time. Oh yeah. And Rivas just jumps up and pokes it right right away at the last second. Negatron had one catch for 13 yards. He had that touchdown catch but Rivas had leverage on him to force him towards the sideline which was a really good play. A couple other pass defenses. I think he had two past defense targeted fourth time. Well, you know what they did Justin: They just stopped going to him and they know I'd have to burn some girls in there like oh number 30 is covering Nate Burleson Jake: So let's make let's throw it there. Yeah, let's throw it to the to the running backs I mean they missed a couple opportunities to tray where they had us I know like job ambassador streaking down the sideline on one play where they had him singled up on Bart Scott and he beat him Badly, but oh, yeah, he's not a receiver. So not making that catch like over the shoulder. receiver makes that catch and that's touchdown. Justin: But you know it is kind of what it is. We hung in and hung in and hung in and gave ourselves a chance at the very end of the game to get the ball back. I was I was livid. at the referees at the end of the game. Why did it take them 14-15 seconds to call that Sanchez sneak a touchdown and then not put the 15 seconds back on the clock? No, I know. Which, if Detroit wasn't so stupid and threw the ball on third down for an incompletion, that would have literally run off 40 seconds off the clock that we shouldn't have had run off the clock. I don't understand why they can't go back and put that time back on. I have a question for you. Jake: What is it about coaches, head coaches? Now I know we're sitting at home and we're drinking beer in our armchairs or whatever in our, you know, Jets underwear. That's what we do at home. But I'm just saying, what is it about coaches that they don't, that this simple clock management stuff which is literally, it's just math, right? Bye! on third down with under two minutes, I mean, there's just a math scheme. Don't throw the ball and yet Rex Ryan did it two weeks ago or three weeks ago. And then there goes, you know. I don't understand the mentality there. Justin: I mean, not only is your third string quarterback in the game, because your backup didn't even suit up and Stafford. who's a wuss and a half was off the field on just a random tackle. Like there's two things wrong. One, you should never even call that play. You should be running the ball there if you're Detroit. Two, if you're the quarterback and you're getting pressured like that and you're gonna try a one-yard pass
03 Justin: that's clearly not gonna get the first down, take the sack. Take the sack. What's the worst that happens? You ran for negative 10. Oh well. 40 seconds. 40 seconds. Whatever. Jake: 40 seconds comes off the clock and that's really what you care about. Not that first down there because you're not getting it on 3rd and 9. Ridiculous play. Detroit really should not have lost that. They lost that game. The Jets didn't really win it. Well, except for you're down by 10, you go down and you score and then you kick the field goal to win and then you get the ball and you walk right down the field and kick the field goal to win the game. By the way first time that Jesse done that in a long time. We haven't seen Sanchez really do anything like that. Justin: It actually reminded me of like a Pennington to Leon Washington type of drive. Like there was nothing spectacular about the last drive. It was dumps over the middle, dump passes over the middle because they were giving us the middle of the field to prevent defense prevents you from winning it it was just 10 yards at a time. Why don't you give one of the best Jake: receivers in the league one of the fastest guys with the best hands MVP of Super Bowl. Why don't you just give him the middle because he'll... I wasn't talking about that in overtime I was talking about the drive to get us to tie the game. It was just 10 yards over the middle, 10 yards over the middle, 10 yards over the middle, and just well done. And we had some penalty hits too that, you know. That helped. Because I think it's football karma. I mean, I always say football karma. We got screwed on the, on like in the first quarter, Justin: I think it was like a lame 15 yard penalty on Ellis where he, where he didn't even like. He barely touched, what's his face, their quarterback for running on the sideline. He wasn't even out of bounds. He just tapped him and he just fell. Jake: And it's like, oh, 15 yards. We got that back there. And that was nice. That's crap because when the quarterback's taking the turn to go upfield. He's not a quarterback anymore. I know and he's trying to get the extra yard. Why? shouldn't the defender have the ability to push the guy to try to get him out of Justin: yard? He's not a quarterback anymore. Mike Vick doesn't stop there. Mike Vick cuts Exactly. What about the rough end of kicker? That was lame. Lame but you know what he did. Unfortunately he got pushed into him by Jake: own guy what have you got my their guy I don't think it's a penalty but Why is it that that is I mean that's what it was big though, but it was a danger Justin: I think that's a good strategy injured the kicker because then they missed the And I'm gonna consume missed extra point and then they couldn't really kick off the rest of the game Jake: So it's like a big thing that I got the strategy that act Well, except for that would have been that would have been three points not seven. No, you do it on the extra point Oh you do on the extra? Yeah, you just kill the kicker on the extra point. But that was an extra point. That was the three points. I get it. But moving forward, strategy, kill kicker on extra points. It just seems like there are some plays that, and I think the NFL needs to look at the calls.
00 Jake: There are some calls that they can literally change the game so much. And there shouldn't be, and it's not like, oh, did he catch it or not in the end zone. That's a call. But like, you know, pass interference in the end zone on a 50 yard throw up, you know, and there's a pass interference Oh put it the one that seems like it's just it's too much of a game changer. The guys go for a field goal They're gonna get three points you run into the kicker You basically give them the ball at the one with with you know with on first down. They're gonna get a touchdown That's unfair. It's like it's too big of a swing for the game. Yeah, that's how dirty the game was dirty game. Uh, Bart Scott said after the game they were one of the dirtiest teams in the other grade. Really? And that's coming from Bart Scott. That's coming from a dirty player. He also got a, he, don't do those types of things. Yeah, I don't like that. I, I get like you're trying to protect your guy but, and he kind of fell back and acted but you know those kind of penalties. They were dirty though, they had three chop blocks which is like three chop blocks really? Like what do you see Justin: that? And they were pretty dirty. I mean, they were... They were... That's a nasty team. I'm glad to have won that game and got out of there. I mean, I think if we play them at home, it's a whole different story. They're just terrible on the road. But at home, in Detroit, that's a tough team. I'm happy to get out of there alive. Jake: So be we a stat. Go ahead. Good. 22 and 201. That's the penalty yards. 22 penalties for 201 yards. That's combined, right? Total. It was 11-11. We bought the same amount of penalties and 99 yards for them and 102 for us. Justin: We've got to work on that. That's very even. Jake: But well, the least that shows me is that it was very even, meaning they were just throwing. Freaking they were throwing. They were getting paid by the flag. They really did. It seemed like they were. I mean, they. Justin: A lot of chop blocks and just weird penalties that you don't see. I never heard of like when number 78 checked in as eligible, which he always does, and then lines up as a tackle. He can't do that because he was eligible from the play before. A lot of weird penalties and weird rules. But anyway, we won the game. He comes down to it. Jake: There's still some stats up there. Throw it out. Let's do it. Tomlinson 55 yards on 15 attempts after 3.7 not great Sean Green 46 yards. Sean Green should have had more touches in this game I thought. I think he had he had the mojo he should have given them a long run. He was running them over. Yeah he was running over. It was that type of game. Yeah I felt like he should have gotten the ball a little more. Total 110 yards rushing Sanchez I mean if I just said to you that he had 323 yards his most yards ever in a game by the way. He went 20 to 39 and sacked once for nine yards. That was pretty good. I think they protected him well. Stafford, I mean, he actually didn't have that grade of a game. He had a great percentage, but... Stafford's a good player. He just can't stay on the field. He's not gonna stay on the field. He's a good player, though. and Holmes leading off the receiving with 114 yards because there's two big 52 on the big yeah the big play and edwards just has one big 74 yard line that's sort of his stat um you know what i'm a little this
05 Jake: point in our rushing game and i'm a little bit sorry that our defense isn't taking the ball away i thought this was a game that for any game that our defense needs to take the ball from them any point in time. Even when they were, when he was sacking... Stafford and like just what we're not getting that bounce that that takeaway that we would normally get that the interceptions are not there like This is how we're getting down and not Sort of supporting the offense a little bit when they're struggling I hope and giving up 20 points which is the first touchdown we've given up in the first quarter all year Like where's the defense not making it a little bit more lighting it up? Can't answer that. It's pass rush. It's what it is Anyway, so we won. We won good game. Let's hear your To your night of the game. We know who your fool was although we didn't lose good job. I Justin: Can still pick a fool? I thought he deserved it My night of the game This is a tough one because it wasn't really a great game. Like I said, I'd rather sort of pick a fool in this one but I'm gonna go ahead and pick Lydanian Tomlinson. Your 9th game is your 9th game. Because on that last drive of regulation time, he was the drive. It was literally past LT, past LT, past LT. He got out of bounds when he had to. Past LT, past LT. It was as if he was the only guy there. So I know Sanchez orchestrated it. But, uh, Tomlinson reminded me of a little bit of Leon Washington type of spark at the end of the games where he was the receiving back and it worked out really well. Really well. And the play of the game, how could it not be the San Antonio home's catch for 52 yards? Because that was huge. He took it, little square in, just grabbed it, didn't get tackled right away and bam, down the field. Jake: in the replay. Did you see how close? Now he's running, his arms are going back and forth across his body with the ball. He goes up and the ball goes up and then he's taking the next step and the ball comes in close to his chest. The guy came from behind and did the swing at that very moment. I swear two seconds or half a second. either way and that ball would have popped right out of his hand. But it didn't. It didn't. I think it's a great play. I'm surprised you didn't pick him as your knight, so I will. Holmes showed up in the way that I've been waiting for him to show up all year, which is to dominate. He wasn't thrown into a ton, but when he got the ball he made a difference. You could say Brandon Edwards because it's just that big play and the big touchdown. It kind of... kept the game close. But San Tony Holmes was like, when he got that ball and he's tricking down the field, I'm like, that's why we got him because he can do that and and and he's gonna burn. Although I thought he could he should have burned. No one should be able to catch up to him. So I'm moving to San Tony Holmes and in reverse, I'm gonna make the um
03 Jake: I guess I'll make the Brailleman-Ewards touchdown is when I play the game. It's becoming a little staple of theirs, which I like, but it's a good thing. It's a good thing they're getting there. Again, last year, what would have happened to that ball? It right off his head. Yeah, would have boink into the end zone. Justin: Or maybe hit off his head and then get... He was home in Detroit, and then next week he gets to go home to Cleveland. So maybe he's got a little spark for these games. Jake: So good game. Congrats, man. That's good stuff. Thanks for congratulating me. Six and two leading the AFC East. And let's talk a little bit about the kingdom. What's going on with the other kingdoms. I will say it's a good day of football when you squeak out a win that, you know, you were basically all set to lose. And then the rest of the AFC lays them zero. So the Patriots went down to Cleveland, Browntown, which is where we're going next week. And, or this coming up week. Just got nailed who called that you did. Thank you. So talk about it Justin: Well, I just didn't think it was a good matchup for New England the the the Browns can run the ball That's for sure Yep And I think the Pats have trouble stopping teams that can run the ball and I think man genie in a way He sort of has Bell checks number. It's like it's like his Super Bowl. It's like he gets up for that and that's what he He had two weeks to prepare for Belichick and that's what he covets with a 2-5 team. He's not going anywhere in the AFC North there and he wanted to beat Belichick and he did and I think that that has a lot to do with it, with the rookie quarterback and a big bruising running back. and their defense is pretty darn good. I mean, remember they have Orion over there coaching their defense. Jake: Rex's brother over there and they're not bad. They're sneaky good. It was definitely a game I was watching. I wish it was on a four because I would have really watched it. It's like three games on a four. That's the way it is almost every week. I hate it. Yeah, I don't mind it because I just put it all on. I only get one, but I got two this week. the giant game which was crap. But that game, I mean, Hillis is 184 yards. It's tough. We're gonna have to stop him. Well, that's the thing. I'm not worried about stopping the Justin: run. Because we will. And Hillis is pretty damn good. Put it in McCoy's hands. I mean, Jake: we'll talk about next week next week or this on Thursday, but if the game plan has got to be, put it in McCoy's hands. He's not the quarterback that can... He's not the quarterback that can do it. Yeah, I don't think that he would be the guy that can actually take a team to victory if that's your game plan. Justin: If you're trying to say, all right, Peyton Hillis, you're not running on us because you're not. And we're going to do everything we can to prevent you from doing so. Clearly, I mean the Pats you would have to think that that was their game plan, right? I mean The L tricks no dummy. No, it's not sitting there like oh, let's let's make
02 Justin: Let's let's let Hillis beat us and let's we have to stop Colt McCoy and Mohammed Masakai I mean, that's not his strategy. So You know, Hillis has run over Baltimore. He's run over the Pats. He's run over some teams this year and and has really Jake: looked impressive and he looked very impressive against the Pats. Patriots drop six and two and We go in first place again because we have the tiebreaker over them by beating them. Yep. Good stuff Miami gets the butts whipped. Kinda knew that was gonna happen I don't know how fun- I didn't think I thought- I thought that Miami was gonna actually win the game. You thought Miami was gonna win the game? I think that's what I said, uh, if I remember correctly. No. There's no way Miami was gonna win that game. Justin: I don't know, I thought they had a chance on the road, but- Jake: So, the Bulborb Ravens had never lost at home, the- They had never lost at home ever? This week. This year. This week? This year. What are you talking about? And the Dolphins had never lost on the road, so it was the never lost against the never lost. Oh, I thought Miami would win, but it- Apparently I have Reed's back and it's a big deal because he's got now two picks in three weeks. Well and Henny threw three interceptions too which went at Reed but I'm sorry but he's starting to show his... He might have to be benched soon. Do you think they're going to try to save his season by putting him in Pennington? No I don't think it's Pennington. I think it's Thigpen. He can put in Thigpen and think that's going to work for us? Justin: I don't think Pennington's the backup to be honest. I think he's the third string guy who's just, you know, mentoring. Jake: I just... Henny's accuracy. And again, I was kind of watching it when I wasn't watching the Jets, and his accuracy is just still not there. It's all over the place. This is probably one of his worst games, because I don't think he's ever thrown three interceptions. a game before so sort of he looks the part he just he's big he's got a great arm but yeah but he doesn't have the accuracy kind of reminds me of like David Garard or just like the other guards extremely accurate who's the other guy on the jack of all the Jaguars that kicked off who's that guy that kicked off yeah they they went for garden set up of. Then he goes. By her left witch? Left witch. That's it. Big guy. Wooks the part. I don't know. To me, he reminds me more of like a Carson Palmer. Like he's... I think he's towering over Palmer. Palmer's a big dude. Really? Yeah. Like 6'4 big? Like maybe bigger. Is he as accurate as Palmer? Oh wait. I wouldn't want that one. And then the Bills, boy the Bills, here's the thing, Cowboys have a better season record than the Bills, but the Bills are a better team than the Cowboys. They would put their ass tomorrow. They are trying really hard. It kills me because I don't like the Bills because they're in our division. Here's the thing. I feel for them. Here's the thing. These poor guys, man. They're 0 and 8. We talked about this I think last week or two weeks ago. that if the Bills were 0-15, that we wouldn't really be too happy.
01 Jake: Because they're going to come out and... I mean, we're playing them the last week of the year, and we better have our shit together and locked and loaded and ready. Meaning, we're locked into a spot. Third, fourth, second, first, whatever it might be. Because I don't want that team having to beat them at... Oh and 15 which I don't know I don't think so either. They're putting it to get too close and it's not against crap team The Bears are pretty crappy. They really should have eaten the Bears the Bears but against the pages Justin: Baltimore they were close city. They lost their last three games by field goals. Oh brutal Jake: Yeah, although eventually just move up there and I'll be into that Buffalo will just go right into it's gonna happen It's gonna happen. I can't see it. Justin: Canada wants- Buffalo's too, like, it's like Green Bay. Jake: They have no care, except for they're not successful. Green Bay's successful. Buffalo's not. What other games sparked your interest? Well, I was in an apartment with a bunch of Giant fans, so the Giant game had to be on. until like the third quarter when I was just like, can't we just change this to the very close Eagles Colts game and you guys could root against the Eagles and all of a sudden here root for the Eagles against the Colts and they were like, all right, fine, because the Giants jumped out. One thing about the Giants, Justin: they're like the, I'm air quoting, best team in the NFC, but I don't think they've beaten anybody yet. I have to look at their schedule so far and see who they've played and who they've beaten. So they beat Carolina. Correct. Where's team league? Jake: They got their butts kicked by Indy. They got their butts kicked by Tennessee. Good team. Ahh, semi good team. They're pretty good. They beat Chicago. Crap team. They won in Houston. That's a pretty decent win. That's a good win. But it's Houston inconsistent. Justin: They beat Detroit at home, which is not a great win, because Detroit hasn't won on the road in two years. Right. They beat Seattle in Seattle, which is... I'm sorry, they beat Dallas in Dallas Dallas. We knows one was six points Yeah, and then they and then they beat Seattle which is a so-so team. So any of those teams have winning records Jake: Does Houston have a winning record at the time? They were three and one now now because now they're four and four Justin: Okay, so they got all again is is I think four and four. So Chicago is like a really weak five and three, I think. So, I mean, yeah, they've beaten some teams, Jake: but the NFC is just crap. But here's the thing, they go up against the Dallas Cowboys who they'll beat again. Come on. As we know, they're gonna win a lot of games. Justin: They don't have. a whole hell of a lot on their schedule that they have to still play Philly twice and they still have to play Washington twice which is tough in my vision. Washington's in trouble. These are tough in division games. You have to go to Minnesota, which is a tough place to play regardless. Yeah, whoever's around. And they have to go to Green Bay, which is
04 Justin: tough game. So some tough games left but I mean they've been beaten up on pansies. It's true. It bothers me that we have to share this New York spotlight here and Jake: we're the real team. To be honest I'd rather share this but I don't want the spotlight on us anymore. I'm sick of the spotlight. Let's get out of the spotlight. We're the real team. Let's let's win more games. And let's talk about tonight. We got one game up tonight. Well before tonight Wade Phillips was fired. Justin: I didn't mention that. Two hours ago. Jake: Yep. I mentioned that just two seconds ago by Dallas. Justin: Well they looked horrible. And they just, I mean it looked like... They are. Jake: It looked like he was just like, I'm getting fired. On the sidelines like I'm getting... I watched the clips, I didn't watch the game, I watched the clips this morning on SportsCenter and it did. They just kept showing sort of play after play of sort of Cowboys kind of, hey, no, and then no, and I'll tackle you. Oh, forget it. It's just crap that we have to watch them all the time that they're like these national Justin: games with Cowboys. Jake: So I think they will... you'll get a spark at it almost happens every time they fire the head coach all Justin: the way not just that coach use the defensive coordinator as well so it's it's interesting because you're not filling one spot their defense is the Jake: one of their biggest problems I mean their offenses but you're filling you're Justin: filling like now you have to fill like three spots because you lose your head coach you lose your defensive coordinator you replace them with your offensive coordinator And now you need two coordinators, right? Unless you're here, unless he's just gonna keep coaching the offense, Garrett, Jason Garrett, who was like a sweetheart three years ago. They're apparent. And has gone completely downhill since. Like really just despicable. Jake: Their offense has been terrible. Their defense which has supposed to have been good has been terrible. So the Cowboys, basically overall terrible. You could throw out that they lost Tony Romo, but. But they were terrible before that. But you gotta have a better backup than whoever. John Kintna. Yeah, I mean he's 39 years old. It's not like he's 39 and far. They gotta just go to the kid behind him and see if they have something. Justin: Because there's no point. At this point, if you're the Cowboys, you have all that talent. So you bring in a real coach that can actually get talent to play together. And then you get a top four pick. You're in good shape next year. True, true. Who would that coach be? Jake: I don't know, there's a lot of good guys out there. I mean, there's cowards out there and, not cow, Bill Coward. Cowards out there, yeah. What's his face? Chuckies out there. I don't think, I think Chuckies having a good time. Chuckies having a decent time. You get paid a lot of money. Dungy's out there and there's a lot of these seasoned coaches out there. Do you think Dungy would go to cowards? I think Dungy at this point needs like, he needs to have a place that like, ... ... ... close to a church or something. He's just getting so like- Maybe Minnesota. He's getting so up his own ass. Because Chile's gotta be done. Chile's gone. Did you see what he said after the game? I mean I don't like far of just like any other jet fan.
00 Jake: Red wanted American. Justin: I mean but you can't do that. The guy just saved your ass. He literally just brought you back from nowhere and talked about a comeback. They came back from nowhere and won down like 14. Yep, maybe 17. But yeah, Childress comes out and is like, I'm not Brett Favre, I don't need a hug after the game. I don't need assurances. Jake: Who is he to like just evoke that out of nowhere? What a dick fuck. What I don't get is why does it save the coach? Because... He didn't do that. No. We all know that Brett Favre just pulled a magic Brett Favre bean out of his ass and then wins a game. And he does that. It smells delicious. And he does. So what? That's not the coach. We all know that what happened on that field has nothing to do with the coach. We know that. If anything, it was in spite of the coach. Right. So at that point- Favre was like, fuck you, we're losing by 17, I'm doing my thing. and Like they're not one in seven. They're in the hunt. But they're not in the hunt with him. He's not gonna lead them to the promised land. They're still playing for him. They're still playing. You don't think getting rid of Moss was kind of a, ah, we're done. Well, the owner apparently wanted to just fire, fire Chili. Justin: He was like, you can't fire you. Yeah. Keep him Moss. That's why it took him a day to actually get rid of him. Yeah, I actually has all the authority. But the owner was like, I don't want it. He didn't check with him. He didn't want to do it Anyway, money in the bank for the owner the moss jerseys that he could sell. It's so true Jake: I mean, we'll see in Tennessee. He'll show up and I'll do nothing but okay, so that'll wrap up our first of hopefully many double podcast weeks. Oh, this is gonna be rough. We shouldn't promise anybody anything. Yeah, we promise, no promise. We might not even do another one ever again, but no, definitely on Thursday. Justin: This does sort of, does this help or hurt us get to 100 for the Super Bowl? Oh, we're way ahead. Jake: Because that is my goal. We'll be way ahead. And we keep up this pace. This is not good. We're at the people of people of ass, and we respond.
