09 Jake: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Justin: Welcome to the Jet Team podcast. As always on this side of Digital Isle, this is Jake, joining me for the 90th time on the JK Podcast. And for the special Double Podcast Week is Justin. Justin, how are you doing? I'm alright. It is the second time this week that I have to sit here. across from you and talk about these jets. Double trouble all the way. All the way. All the way. All right, so we got some news to talk about. Got some news in the NFL. We do. And then, since we've already discussed the game of the week from before, we're gonna talk about what's coming up. Maybe do some more analysis. We're gonna pick game by game. We have two segments that we talked about. We have the Jet Kingdom Pick'em, where we... Jake: you Justin: facing our fans and foes alike, pick against them on Yahoo. So we'll see who's winning and who's losing. I know where I am. And we also then we pick every game with the spread. And then we also pick the AFC East, we call that throne picks, because we picked them with the scores. See who's doing well in those things. So let's get it on with some news. since Monday since our last podcast was yet just three days ago. So first thing is the NFL's handing out some fines. They are. They handed out fines to I think one player though this week, right? For the big hit. It was two. Two players, one was 50 and one was 10. Yeah. A couple of hits. A couple were, you know, there was a really bad one which... I don't even think got a fine, which was the Austin Colley hit, or the hit Austin Colley took. He took the Eagles and we were watching that game at my place and we were all like, oh that shouldn't have even been a penalty. I mean we felt bad because Austin Colley was like, you know, really, really laid out there. It looks like he's going to be okay. It looked very scary but I guess he just had a concussion which is good considering. We were all upset, you know, we were like, that's not a penalty. It shouldn't have even been a penalty and it's backed up by the fact that he didn't even get fined, but what are you supposed to do? Like not hit the guy in the chest as he's trying to catch the ball and knock it out of his hands? I mean, what are you supposed to do in that situation? Yeah, one of the things that the players are saying and I agree with. Which is if a guy's going down and I'm trying to tackle him and he starts to put his head where I'm trying to tackle him
00 Justin: How can that be called like I'm trying to tackle him around his waist Wrap him up, but he put his head down when we're going towards each other and our heads hit, you know There was actually a play last week last week the penalty on on Paid Manning where there were, and it extended the play. If the Colts had won that game, it would've been huge, but they come in to sack Peyton, and his hand came across to knock the ball. And just grazed the top of the helmet on like a third and 20 something. It was a fourth in something. Was it fourth in something? I think it was a fourth. It was fourth down. It might have been fourth and 18 or something. I think it was something like that. And anyway, and they gave it a penalty and they got the full set of down. They didn't win the game and if they had it would have been massive blow up or blow up. But that type of thing, I get trying to protect the quarterback. I get the quarterback because the one person who's sort of back there with the ball, trying to do a lot of stuff, everybody trying to get to him. No other. you No other player has five or six guys trying to get him at one point and some of the guys who are you know Way twice as much as he does But some of this stuff, you know a hand across the helmet a graze of a helmet It just seems a little bit a little bit ridiculous. Another news I guess it's really talking about we can talk about this in the next upcoming game, but the Monday night game coming up is Eagles Redskins and Big one and McDab got benched second second time by another coach got benched was two years ago or last year's two years I think you got benched was it two years. I think it's two years ago. They bench run Thanksgiving No, they bench them bench them for like half a game just to get them started again. Yeah, that's what happened, but it's not what they wanted to do. And he came back, they had to play him, it was I think they bunch him on a Sunday before Thanksgiving. They had to play him on Thanksgiving because he didn't have enough time. And he pulled open the game like, you know, to pull away. So he was benched. This one was stupid. This was two weeks ago before they're by. So we should have discussed it two weeks ago. Or three podcasts ago. But he's practicing to, as if, you know... He's playing he's a starter for this coming week and Janet anytime you bench Someone and put in Rex Grossman because you think Rex Grossman gives you a better chance to win You are not making a good decision Yeah, and to say that it's a two-minute warning I mean if you want Rex Grossman to get hit by somebody and that's the play that's what happened No, I want to get sad. You got sack strip fumble touchdown That was it So, we'll talk about the game when we come up on it. But let's actually do something we do in the middle of the year anyway. Didn't get to it on Monday, probably should have. Let's get to it today. Let's do our first half today. I think today is the better day to do this. We had a lot to talk about on Monday. That's true. The game. So let's talk about... First half grades. Yeah, we have a lot of different categories.
01 Justin: Offense, Defense, Special Teams, Coaching, MVP, Offense, Defense, League MVP, League Rookie of the Year, Offense, Defense. I think that's a little bit too many categories. It's a lot of categories. Alright, you're gonna have to go quick. Rapid Fire. Okay, you want me to go first? Well, let's go one by one. Alright, grades. We're going on the A to F. A to F. With pluses and minuses. Yes. Okay. You're usually a tougher grader than I am. I'm a tough grader So I guess I'll go first. Because you failed out or something. That's not true. Alright, I'm giving the offense a B Do I have to say why? Yeah, that'd probably be good for the people listening. Well, because they've played pretty good in for the most part Except for like two games where they won they got Points except for two games. It's funny there. The record is not a B record six and two isn't a B record But I agree the offense Has sort of sputtered at points and and and has been firing on all cylinders being shut out at any time No good as it's not by a team that like shut down every team like okay fine You got the greatest defense in the league great This is a team that Buffalo hung it in with or you know that that other teams have beaten and so I say B- I'll give it a B- because it's just not firing and being shut out gets you a minus point. It's true, it's true. All right let's move on to the defense and I'm gonna give the defense a B as well. Wow.- They both get B's. This is gonna be like one of these things you just give everybody a B? 3.0 GPA. You know that they're playing again they're playing well. I think that they've been hurt by injuries more than the offense has so much more. So, you know, again, they lost Jenkins. They had Reavis out. He was finally back, it seems like. They lost Pace for a while. And I didn't really see him on the field even in the last game all that much, maybe. foot is still bothering him but I'm gonna give them a B they're not turning the ball over which is something that they should be doing more of and they're not I don't know they're not pressuring the quarterback enough for my liking so anybody and they're doing great on rush defense they're they're they're getting there in the past defense it's it's more a matter of like making plays and like winning the game on defense seeing happening as much as I'd like to, but I do believe in the coaching staff to get them there by the end of the year. B-plus, because they were missing two of the best players, well three of the best players on the team, but two of the best players that played the game. I mean Jenkins and Rivas, you could say are...
00 Justin: two of the best in their category in the league. Top five. Weavis top three. Jenkins top three or four. Nose tackle. B plus because they were an A plus last year. I think there's this is a team that you know you called it last year by week five. I'll call it this year by week ten. this defense is going to be strangling. They're going to strangle people and it's going to be lights out. So it's good because we got some tougher teams teams going on. This is sort of our not soft part because that's set up but like a little dip. And we should win two of these three games and we won one. So we'll see so far. I give a few points. All right on special teams. I'm gonna give them a B+. If not for the bad game in Green Bay where there was a miss kick and a really bad fake punt that shouldn't have occurred, they'd probably get an A-, but because of that game they're getting a B+. No return touchdowns, doing okay in the return game, punt kick, both doing okay. So I'll say B+. Yeah, I'd either do B+, A-, probably B+. because of no returns, but they've been getting good field position, you know, in that uh, I forgot the game where he ran it, but it was Vikings game, he ran it right back, he came close. Brad Smith just doesn't have the like... No Jets. Yeah he doesn't have Jets. He's not the fastest kick returner. No he's a jet without Jets because he doesn't have that whoo and just take off. No. He's still good at it though. Coaching, overall coaching. Overall coaching. I'm gonna say an A- They're working with some pieces of the puzzle that they need to put together New players, new faces, still young in certain places that are important Particularly in the quarterback area So I think they're doing a pretty good job. I mean, they're 6 and 2 They're at the top of the division in there. the top of the conference, which is obviously the harder conference. So, I'll give an A-minus. Yeah, I think they've been doing it a lot. I'm trying to think what will you take away from them? What are things that... Well, they did get shut out. And that's not good. Yeah, do you give that to coaching? Sure, I guess. Yeah, I give a B-plus, right? Because now I'm starting to think of some of the plays they didn't like and some of the not going for it. So, I'm going to go with the B-plus. Also, the whole Hard Knocks thing, I think, I loved Hard Knocks, but I don't like what it did to the team. I thought we were not coming out of the gate strong. I'll still take Hard Knocks every year. I love it. It's like crack. I have all five episodes on my DVR still, and I still watch them. I have them inside of my eyelids. Wow that's even better. Alrighty, MVP of the offense and defense. Want both? Yeah. Alright. Let me start with the defense. I think it's Antonio Cromarti. Okay why? Because he has had to pick up the slack for Rebus over the first six or seven games.
05 Justin: He did a really good job. I mean the first game he didn't do so well. But after that he's become acclimated to the defense. I think he's playing lights out. I mean he's really playing well Okay, shut down some pretty good receivers and yeah, he had his trouble with others But I think he's playing really well. You're not picking Jenkins in the seven plays he played? No, he was really good for five plays Yeah, it's good anyway offense It's a tough one. There's a couple guys that this could go to I think I got a pick out Wow. Yeah, I mean he's been that good. Last couple games has been sliding like there's some talk that maybe he's hitting a wall, you know the 31 year old I'm a running back wall. He did win the last game for us. Yeah, his yard is going way down. But he had a hundred total yards and I don't know what you want from him. That's good. So those are good two picks. I'm gonna go with sort of two... This is MVP now. MVP of the offense or the defense first? Go where you want to go. Defense Puah. That's a good pick. He is the most no one talking about ever but guy he is. Let's leave it that way. But filled in for the guy. who was one of the best. He was starting at the end to start the year, and they really, no one would have run on him if he was in the defensive end with Jack into the middle. Love him, I'm picking him. Offense. What's been this? It's really not anything, well, Dustin Keller's been doing really well. Dropped the last couple games, but he was winning games there for him. Since San Antonio, Holmes. came back yeah he has a little little bit you know since I'm giving it to big guys I'll give it to uh I'll give it to Fergie I'll give it to Ferguson especially just that game against the Vikings where I just thought he'd be in trouble one-on-one against Allen and he wasn't not a lot of sacks were being given up there a couple now and again they mostly coming through Slauson although the sauce been playing well. He's a little bagged up this week. Yeah, I'm gonna give it to him. I'm gonna give it to Mangle, but he's sort of always good and I expect him to be good. So I'm gonna give it to De Percachot. My league half the way through the league MVP, who really cares. League rookie of the year. I don't know why he said league. Oh, MVP. Now we're the whole league. I'm not doing anything. The whole league, the NFL. No, fuck that. You don't want to pick? You don't want to show off the fact that you don't know anything. It's so early to say who's the MVP of the league? Of the first half. Fine, go tell me who's the league MVP of the first half of the season. Oh my god, you're so annoying. Yeah, because everybody's on the tip of their, they're waiting right now to hear who Justin Elsie thinks is the league MVP. Here we go. I would love to say Michael Vick.
01 Justin: Ah! He hasn't played in a couple games. I know, he's missed a couple games. Although I really, really think like he's... He's League MVP. I mean he's really played so well when he's played. It's unreal. Is that like... Is that ridiculous? Yeah, I don't even care. Moving on. Lee Vokey of the Year. That's so stupid. Lee halfway through MVP. Alright, fine. We'll skip him. No, we look you the year. No you think it's stupid. I'm depriving the people. It's stupid Tweet him up and he'll tell you I'm sure you I'm gonna deprive you fine. All right I'm not telling you let's get to the jet kingdom pickle. Let's do it. All right, so let's see what happened last week Did you catch up to me? No? Who won peg won with nine wins way to go peg peggers sister and soon to be Justin with 8, Jake with 7. I'm sliding again. I gotta catch up. That overall, Mike's still in the lead. Way to go Mike. 72 and 52. Justin, 67 and 57. And Jake, 4 games under 500 and 60 and 64. Way back. Oh, 7 back. Way back. I can make it back. Way back. I can make it back. Alright, so. out. Let's start it off. There is a game tonight. We'll start with that one. An hour and a half. An hour and a half. Two hours. This is being recorded on Thursday. Atlanta hosting Baltimore. Oh by the way, so for this week... Oh shoot. I wanted to tell everybody. To make it clear. He always does this. What? No, no. What? For this week... I have not picked yet. Oh, you're picking on the fly. I'm gonna pick on the fly. It can't hurt me. You think that'll be any better? Well, I get to hear who you're gonna pick and why you're picking them. Why? Well, give you a little help here. I'm setting behind. Eh, it doesn't matter. All right. Let's trust me, I'm not picking anything. So anyway, for the folks at home, we go through all the games, we pick them against the spread, we skip the AFC East games because we go over those in a little bit more detail at the end and we pick them with scores. So... We always have fun seeing if I can get through this list without mentioning an AFC East game And we'll start off with the Thursday night game with Atlanta hosting Baltimore and Atlanta giving one measly point to Baltimore which means Vegas likes Baltimore in this game and they're yeah sort of Begging you to pick Atlanta and I'm gonna pick them because they win at home. They do win at home. Matt Ryan doesn't lose at home and it's a Thursday and Atlanta's home and Baltimore has to travel on Thursday. Don't like that either. So I'm picking Atlanta. Defense is travel. Ed Reed is back. Ed Reed is old. He is just played last week. And he just picked two people. He just had two interceptions last week. he is back, their defense is back. I like Baltimore in this game. Good, that'll be one for me. Alrighty. Next game, a big rivalry in the NFC North. Minnesota travels to Chicago,
00 Justin: and Minnesota is giving points, they're favored by one. And I like them to go on a little bit of a run here. Chicago not as good as their five and three records as it is. So I'm picking Minnesota given the point. I too will pick Minnesota right now click. Okay, click well Yeah, I agree. There's like the anti-childrous Chili chili is going down very hard Like a street hooker chili. I think they're gonna play like in spite of him. They've been saying it all week It's I've never never and I've been following the football for a while like, you know four or five days now I've never seen so much anonymous stuff about a coach come out. That's just brutal. He'll be fired at the end of the year. I... Unless they win the Super Bowl. Two to three weeks, easily. Maybe this game he could be fired. He could be. Uh, Indy hosts Cincy. Indy off of a loss. Cincy off of a Monday night loss. Indy at home giving only seven to Cincinnati. I don't really understand that. Cincinnati's not very... good. Indy wins this by 30. Yeah, you know, Indy at home 7 take it. Off a loss. I mean, that's, they don't, they're like the pictures. They don't lose two in a row. No. I like that they're not really tearing up the AFC. No, it's great. AFC this year because. They're 5-3. That division is tight. That's great. That division's 5-3, 5-3, and 2-4. 14th very tight. All right, let's move a little right along. We'll move to the NFC South Tampa Bay hosts Carolina and Tampa gives six and a half You know, I don't really like this pick because Tampa wins, but they win close games But I'm gonna pick Tampa because Carolina is just that bad Carolina is terrible. If this were at Carolina, I'd go for the 6th with them at home. But on the road, Tampa Bay at home, yeah, I'm going to go with Tampa Bay. We like favorites so far. Alright, an AFC South game. Now this is an interesting game. Jacksonville's home, giving two points to Houston, and both of these teams are 4-4. And do you think they're like out of it? at 4 and 4? No. It's really weird. Well, I sort of do. The Loser's out at like 4 and 5. Oh, well, you said 4 and 4 is out. No, 4 and 4 isn't out. The Loser this might be for. I mean, because they're in the division with Tennessee and India who are both 5 and 3. Wait, one game ahead of them. Think about the teams in the AFC this year. There's going to be some good teams left out in the cold. Because I mean, they're- Well, you know what the good thing is. There'll be a lot of shitty NFC teams in there. Oh, there's a lot of those. Alright, so getting back to the score. Get the rock around here without hitting the fucking shitty NFC team. So, I'm gonna pick my first underdog here, and I'm gonna take Houston and take the two points even though they're playing really bad lately. Yeah. I believe in Jacksonville. I don't believe in Jacksonville, but I'll take anybody home. Take them at home. All right.
01 Justin: Moving right along. AFC West matchup. Kansas City travels to Denver. Denver coming off their by and Kansas City coming off of, they went last week, I think they did. They are giving one point. Kansas City on the road, giving a point to Denver. I feel like Casey let me down last week. I don't know do you feel that way I do I don't know I actually can't remember what they did last week Oh, didn't they lose they lost to the Raiders I think yeah, they got me down. That was a tough one Yeah, all right, well, I'm gonna pick in the city coming back Off of that and winning a game. I'll lay the one point to Denver. Denver stinks. Yeah, I'll take KC. Denver's not good. Denver at home, but this is a divisional matchup and you gotta, they're gonna get, they're gonna get nasty. Don't believe in Denver. So you're picking Kansas City. I'm picking KC. All right. They'll be down last week. Another division game. Is it all division games this week? No, it's not. There are a lot. There are a lot. Not an excellent experience. The Giants are hosting the Cowboys. Sans Wade Phillips. Oh Sans everybody. So the Giants are giving 14 points and because of the firing of Wade Phillips I'm going to take those 14 points. I feel like this is a big spark. plug type of thing. Oh yeah, oh yeah. That's a lot of points. I picked this before although it's at the Giants. I get that and but the Giants are the ones that knocked Romo out and in that game the Giants only won by like six. So yeah. So I mean I know the Giants are rolling right now and I'm not saying that they're gonna lose the game. I just feel it's tighter than 14. You know, you've been on record by saying the Giants have not played anybody good. They really haven't. Uh, no, I'll definitely take 14 points. We'll take 14 points. I'm sorry. There's gonna be that whole like... It's a division game. This is a big rivalry. We're playing for a next year job. It's, we're gonna show, I think a lot of the players, if I were on the team and my head coach got fired, I didn't like him, I thought he was in the wrong thing, I would want to play extra hard. to prove that it wasn't the playoffs? I don't think the coaches disliked Wade Phillips. Not coaches. No, I'm sorry. I don't think the players disliked Wade Phillips. They just weren't playing for him. I just think, yeah, he was just incompetent at that point. But it's not like they brought in, see, this is why I don't like firing guys in the middle of the year. You didn't bring in anyone new, you brought in. Jason Garrett he went on a new he put them in pads. He put them in pads not new though They haven't been in pads. That's just stupid. I'm saying it's all sarcasm, but just turn sarcasm on put them in pads They had to play in pads man. I know football players practicing in pads But I mean it's not like you brought in like a spark like a new guy like it's the same guy that was there You weren't listening to him yesterday. You're gonna listen to him today. I mean maybe I don't I'll still take the points whatever let's move on enough of Dallas Arizona hosts Seattle in a big big rivalry game out there. I say it's a big rivalry
04 Justin: Thank God this isn't a four oh it is a fork. Oh, it's one of those four fifteen games Matter I'll be watching the Giants and the Cowboys I'll get watching. Uh, you know, I'm looking at this and I picked Seattle on the road, but I'm gonna change it. I'm picking Arizona. Oh yeah, really? You picked Seattle. Seattle did a good decision. I don't know what I was doing. Who played last week? Well, they had their backup. I don't know if he's still playing or not. Whitehurst or Whitehead or whatever. No, I think Hasselback's getting ready to play. Well, Arizona's not bad at it. These are two good teams that are like... Decent at home and not good on the road. So I'll I'm switching my pick. I'm taking Arizona. I'll lay three nice Down with the guys are I yeah, they're two bad teams Arizona plays much better at home in the dome saddle on the road No good. They got destroyed last week Sorry, Pete Carroll effect So this next game I don't quite get the line It's San Francisco at home giving six to st. Louis. I don't understand how that works So there's a two and six team giving six points to a four and four team coming off a buy like I don't I don't Quite understand that line. They're both I think they're both coming off by but still, it's really a weird line. I'm taking the points, I'm taking St. Louis, even if they don't win, it's gonna be closer than six. Yeah, it looks like 64% of the people agree with you. I'm not reading this thing. Oh my god, you're using that too. No, I'm just looking at it, because I was like, okay, where do people think's gonna happen? Yeah, 64% of the people think that St. Louis, yeah, I do. I'll take the points. San Francisco hasn't been playing that well. I mean, they're at home, but I'll- All right, and then we're skipping Sunday night for the big Monday nighter Monday night football Before which is Philly hosting or Philly going to Washington and playing McNabb in his current home Stadium not sure where he'll be next year but he will not be at the Red's. I don't think he will either. He will be, what is the place that was talking about? Arizona maybe? Minnesota? One of those two teams might grab him. So Philly I think is, I think they might be the best team in the NFC right now with Mike Vick and they are rolling. They are playing really well. They just beat. Colts. I think they go to Washington and avenge their loss that they had to Washington earlier in the season and McNabb said something in the locker room afterwards like oh I made him pay or something like that. Oh really? Yeah it was on TV. Is that the game they knocked out Vic? It might have been. I don't recall. I think it was the game they knocked out. They probably would have won that game. Yeah I think you're right they probably would have won if they had with Mike Vic on the field they are explosive so. I'll lay the three points. Minnesota or... Minnesota. Philadelphia's giving three. I'll take Philly. Yeah, I'll take Philly as well. On the road. Yep. Absolutely. All right, let's get to the big picks. On to the...
01 Justin: The real picks. ...thrown picks, which is where we pick the AXC East. That's correct. And give a little of our insights and information for what that's worth. We'll start with the Tennessee Titans going to the Chad Pennington led Miami Dolphins. The Chad led? The Tuesday quarterback? It's the Chad. It's Chad. Which week? You know I was right. I think we were talking about this, it was either on the Monday show that we did. The Monday show. The Monday show. Or the one before that where we were saying oh, Henny will be benched. I think we agreed Henny would be benched at some point this year because he's not playing well. But I thought they'd go to Thigpen. Yeah you were wrong. I was wrong. I actually got a tweet about that. Someone tweeted me, Peter Fletcher, who is at Peter B. Fletcher, tweeted me that Pennington comes back again as the Dolphins starting quarterback because I thought it would be a good thing to put. Yep. So. I was wrong. The Chad gets on the field and drags his arm behind him. Isn't there just a little bit of me that kind of likes the Chad? I love the Chad. I have nothing against him. I have his uniform. I actually... I wore the Chad a lot. Yeah, I liked Chad Pennington. I thought he was good. He had a couple injuries that threw his career off whack a little bit. He had a very good year, that first year, Mangini. coach where they played very cerebral they played like very smart football he ran the team in a very Belichick like style where they would draw people off sides and do weird little trick plays and they made the best of what he had he's got a very smart he's very smart football player I imagine he'll be a quarterback coach or maybe an offensive coordinator at some point because he's got that type of football IQ. Regardless... But you're missing the other pickup that the Dolphins did. They released Jason Allen, their corner, and picked up Al Harris from the New Packers. I didn't realize that. Whatever, their corners aren't. They have Vontae Davis who's very... Jason Allen was a problem. Well, Vontae Davis is very good. The rest of their secondary, not so much. But Al Harris used to be the man. Used to be. Yeah, he was released by the Packers. Well, they have a rookie that's playing really well for them. So they didn't really have a spot for him to come back and play. Interesting. I kind of think upgrade, if not just for experience. I think he's got speed issues, but whatever. So yeah, so another interesting thing about the Dolphins like their first and second round picks from like oh five through now, Ronnie Brown's like the only one left on the team. Yeah, like oh five through nine. Right. Because are maybe long and long and Ronnie Brown are the only two left. Right. Because I got rid of their the They picked like two quarterbacks, neither of which. So here's my problem with, and I'll just a little bit on the Dolphins, here's my problem
00 Justin: with the sitting of Chad Henney right now. You're 4 and 4. It's not a smart thing to do. Well, it's good for us, but you're 4 and 4. Are you at this point saying we have a better chance to win, literally win out and get into the playoffs with Chad Pennington? That has to be the only thing that- saying. I cannot believe that. Well, the only other reasons is we're gonna give Yeah, but what are you learning at this point? You're learning how to sit on the bench again? Well, here's the thing. You're 4 and 4. At this point, the decision to sit him means that you still think you're in it at 4 and 4. And that Chad Paddington has a better chance of getting you in it. I think what you're saying is you know you're not getting in it with Chad Hennies, so let's see if we can't get something started with a different guy. Because this guy brought us to the championship, brought us into the playoffs two years ago. It's more of a let's change this up thing because we don't think we're out of it. I personally think if you look at the AFC and you're 4-4 and you're in the AFC East, you're out of it. Well, especially because you've already lost to the two teams that are ahead of you. That's what I'm saying. I think you're out of it. So why do this? Right. I would stay with Henny and just... Let him play out the year and if he goes eight and eight fine You have an eight and eight quarterback and at least he learned a thing or two for the rest of the you know For the rest of the year he played the Pats again. He played Jets again. It gives him a little experience I wouldn't say I'm again as a dolphin fan. I'm against this as a Jeff and I don't give a shit Have penitent come back to the new Meadowlands we can get a sack five or six times kill Oh actually that's a problem for me. I have a bet that Jason Taylor Sacks chatted Henny twice this season. So welcome back. You should have said Miami Dolphins quarterback. But anyway, let's go to our scores. Yeah, I'll start off. Go ahead. Yeah, TenZee's gonna win this game. I think so. Miami plays horrible at home. I'm sorry but... the rusty Chad paint it off his 15th soldier no it's just not gonna happen 2317 I have it 2310 okay close enough yeah moving on moving right along Detroit who is gonna be without Matt Stafford for what looks like the rest of the year. He has a grade 3 separation of his shoulder, what it was. Yeah. I don't know if Sean Hill's going to be available to start. He did not play badly when he stepped in for Stafford, but I don't know if he's going to be available. I haven't seen a report that says that he is, which means it's going to be Drew Stanton.
04 Justin: Who had that brilliant move in the last week. on the road at Buffalo. Buffalo's 0-7 but they're better than that. They are better than that. And they're the best team in the football. They are. They're the best work team in football. They are. I mean, I would take them over the Cowboys. I would take them over the Panthers. I mean, Jaguars? No. No, Jaguars are 4-4. But I mean, I'd take them over a few teams. I think I'd take them over the Niners. There are some teams that I think they would be. If I threw the worst teams in, the worst teams, the worst five teams in the mix, I would pick them as the best of the worst teams. Right. Yeah. So, and they're still, you know, tough, they're still tough to play in Buffalo. It's not easy for us to play. And they have Sean Marry now who walked out of practice under 15 minutes. I'm going to pick Buffalo to win. I know I did it last week and they almost did. That was the weirdest game. The final score was 22-19, not one field goal in the game. And it was a three, it was a two and a half point spread. What a- fricked up we're explicit what a fucked up gambling game we there were no only touchdowns and it's 22-19 think about that for a second folks that's weird that is weird all right so I'm gonna go first this time I'm picking the bills to win 21-17 you're picking the win by four points by four They haven t won a game all season. By a score. Alright, I m gonna pick out the win, uh, 18-17. Cause they re gonna win. They re gonna win weird? Yeah. They re gonna win with two safeties. Last week? Yeah. Yeah, but that was like two, that was like two point conversions. They re gonna win weird. Alright, they re gonna win weird. 17-18. Alright. Bills win. Bills win. Let s move along. Pittsburgh goes to New England where New England... is coming off of a loss, right? New England lost the last game, bad to Cleveland. And Pittsburgh comes off of their win on Monday night again, Cincinnati. Monday or Sunday? I think it was the Monday night. And New England, we always say this, they don't generally lose to a Noreau. They don't lose the second one at home either except this year. I Have to I have to disagree with you. I think I mean They just don't lose two in a row and now the kinds of games where they get all like Pumped up for and they and they yeah, it all pumped up with no players. What are they gonna pumped up for? and they're 2419 New England 2813 Pittsburgh Wow They've got a good defense. They have a real good defense. They actually lost their, I think they lost their right tackle, left tackle. They lost their left end, I think he's a left end. One of their defensive ends they lost like two weeks to go. They lost all their linemen.
03 Justin: In the Monday Night Game, they lost like two offensive linemen. and them to cover. Just saying. Spread on that game is four and a half. Pittsburgh giving four and a half. By the way, this is not in New England. It's in Pittsburgh. I know. It's good. But you wrote it down wrong. Oh, that wasn't me. That was you. No, that was you. You wrote it down wrong. Oh, you're right. It's in Pittsburgh. It's in Pittsburgh. I don't care. You stick to it? Stick to it. There you go. Good job. I'm gonna write them down all wrong. Next game, what's that next game? Sorry, any games left? Game of the century. Game of the century. Game of the millennium. The Ryan Bowl. The Mangini Bowl. . No, the Ryan Bowl. Mangini gets to play the Jets a week after he plays the win. We actually had a podcast called Fat Guys. What's it called? Big Fat Guys? Big Fat Guys. It was one of our five. Power Green. By the way, this episode will be called Big Fat Guys. Coaching. See you next week. Big fat coaches. Big fat coaches. Yeah, one way's 290, one way's like 230. I saw the, I didn't see the... Hysterical. I have to see it. Is it online? Is it on like, NewYorkJets.com or something? It's somewhere, but yeah, when... I saw the pictures of what Rex Ryan, what we're talking about is Rex Ryan dressed up as Rob Ryan for his press conference on Wednesday. A portion of it and then answered questions as Rob Ryan about the Jets. So they'd say, so what do you think about your brother Rex? And he'd be like, oh Rex, he's handsome, handsome guy. I will say, I don't think any other coach on the planet could get away with this, but for some reason everybody loves it. He literally, think about this. I know this is just. Silly, but he put on the opposing team's outfit Yeah, coach and then went up to the podium and talked like he was the post could I know it's his brother But could you ever could you imagine? Belichick putting on but that's not what they do. This is what he does He's part of the reason why we love him Belichick putting on blackface Tony Dunphy. Horrible, horrible. It was very funny. It was very funny. You know what? I gotta watch it because I imagine it's hysterical. Rex Ryan is a character. And I just want to put it out there straight. I'm the biggest hypocrite because this is all very hysterical at 62. At 1 and 7... I would want this man dead. I would be calling for his death. They wouldn't be doing it at 1-7. Well, I hope not. But the point is, he is who he is. I really love it. And I'm just hoping he's the better defensive coach. Well, here's the deal. OK. So we got two guys. We got a game to play. Yeah. And we got some people to stop.
01 Justin: We got to stop Peyton Hills. Yep. And I don't know why, man. genies fucks around and he's... Amiibo defense. He's fucks around and saying maybe Colt McCoy might not start, this that. He's starting. That's a man genie thing. He's starting. We gotta worry about Peyton Hillis and Josh Cribbs trick plays. Cause I say you make, just like teams make Sanchez beat them, we gotta make Colt McCoy beat us. And with Cromartie on one side and Revas on the other, I don't think he can. No, I don't think he can. And we've had a good run D. I'm sorry, but we've been pretty good. Well, Hillis has run over some teams with good run Ds. He ran over Baltimore for like a buck 30 and a couple touchdowns. I mean, this guy is a beast. What a mistake. Yeah. What a, I mean, this is a huge mistake by a, a Belichick tree guy. Josh McDaniels trades away. Uh, Peyton Hillis. for Brady Quinn and he gave up picks. Like he gave up a pick. Right, for a guy that he'll probably never see in a play. He never even gave Peyton Hills a chance. So here's an interesting thing. This is, the Mengini Bowl brings us back to Mengini the gift giver. Because let's all remember that. He's given us a couple gifts. That's what I'm saying. Two years ago, not only did he give us, the first gift was to make the trade for us to pop up against Sanchez. This is last year. Two years ago. Well before last season yeah, so you're right and then in the middle of the season we got the gift of Ray O'Nelwards So Edwards didn't want to be there anymore. Well. No, that's true. He like punched the guy in the face outside a nightclub Right so they traded him. Yeah, it's just like a character thing We're gonna trade him and to be honest. He's done. Well has he been you know I think he's gonna have a really good game I think this is a pump-up game for him. He's gonna have to be one of those games where everybody's booing him and he's like, you know, not doing anything. But somehow someone's gonna get him the ball. I actually hope they use him as a decoy a lot because I think if I'm the defensive court, if I'm Rob Ryan and I'm thinking they're gonna go for Braylon Edwards because they know he wants to make a big deal. So I bet you and again, I'm... pre-talking here, maybe I'm doing my keys. Here's my key, here's my offensive keys to the castle. Throw it to Keller, he'll be open. I'm supposed to be the offense. Well, I'm doing it. Throw it to Keller. He's open. He's gonna be open, cause they're gonna double one, and Keller's gonna be open, and use him as your... other than that it's you know it's like most games it's gonna be about mistakes not leave yourselves in huge third down positions although we seem to overcome them last game and just you know they're gonna try to stop what we do best which is run the ball that's what they do this is someone said this is like a mirror game because it's it's literally two teams built kind of the same way two young quarterbacks two running games two good two defenses. I just think when you stack up all that, we have the better quarterback,
02 Justin: the better running game, the better offensive line, the better wide receivers, and I think we have the better head coach. So I think we win. I'll give it a win by three points, 2017. What's your defensive... Keys to the castle and your score for the game. I bet you picked the dead twins. I did I pick them every week They'd be 16 and oh if they went by my picks. That's true. I mean, I think I just outlined them Stop Peyton Hillis. Okay number one. Can we do it? I think we can I mean we're pretty good run defense I think our run defense has been really good on the edges as I've noticed that when the runner gets towards the edge he doesn't get very far up the middle like and that's like a 3-4 thing yeah it's worth it fast I think we could stop the run it's gonna you know I like to think that who do they throw to so you stop on who they don't know I mean they throw a lot to their tight end they throw to earn a scram They throw to this Muhammad Masquagai guy sometimes. They throw to Josh Cribbs sometimes. They don't really have a number one receiver out there. I also don't even know. So it's really Peyton Hillis and it's stopping Josh Cribbs on trick plays and special teams and you can pretty much stop them. Would you put back Kyle Wilson? since after Eric Coleman's horrible coverage of the tight end last week? I don't know. I mean, I don't know if there's a difference between the two. Like, I was really- One's a rookie with making rookie mistakes but can actually hang with the receivers and the tight ends and he's actually played better in the slot. When he was asked to go to the side- Coleman hasn't played bad except for last week. Last week was bad before that you I don't know I think they would have to maybe rotate Rotate Wilson in maybe rotate Lowry in you know give him a shot at me a score 24 10 J ETS gestures Wow win by two touchdowns. Yeah, I just don't know Touchdowns in a while. I don't know if I see them scoring. I mean they've had their Not even one breakaway. There's the one. They've had their share of trick plays and fake puns. So you're saying they're going to have one field go and one touchdown the entire game. That's kind of... Alright, well let's wrap it up.
