09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Can't wait! Jake: Welcome to the jeffing pod. the longest running year Jets podcast on the internet period. I'm Jake, joining me on this Thursday edition of the podcast, early morning edition, although not that early, from our new studios, our third set of studios, it's Justin. Justin, how you doing? I'm alright, thank you very much. Uh, let's get a fuck out of you, come on. No. Come on. No. Gimme a fuck. No. Shitbag. No. Shit, motherfucker. Not right now. Alrighty. Uh, we'll do that later. So, we got an agenda today. And we're gonna be, this is the sort of end of week edition. We did a Monday edition where we talked about the... the awesome winning. We'll recap if there's anything out of that game we want to talk about. But we got some town crier segments, so we got some news in and around the NFL and the Jets. We'll talk about that. Then we will go to our, we'll make our picks this week. We'll make both of our, their Jet Kingdom pick them. Review who did the best and we's worst of last week and standings. We'll also go into our check. Our throne picks where we pick all the AFC East games with scores, so that should be fun And then we'll of course break down the Jets versus Eagles game at the end the game of the century So we'll do that you ready to go. I'm ready. Alrighty, so let's kick it off with a little bit of news We do We do. We got some bad news first. Okay, what's the bad news? So a story came out. You and I were both at the game, yes? We were. A story came out a couple days ago that, and I kind of want to bring this up just because I'm just disgusted. Really? I don't even know what you're going to talk about. Good job going over the agenda then. Oh wow, look at that. I didn't even know there was an agenda. A Jets fan was... was beaten basically and brought to the hospital by seven different KC fans at the KC Jets vs. KC. Seven Kansas City fans beat up one Jets fan? At the Jets in the New Meadowlands. Where were the rest of the Jets fans? I don't know. So here's what it is. It's serving in fan violence. Jets fans says they've badly beaten a bunch of drunk... Kansas City Chiefs fans who were yelling 9-11 taunts before the attack. So in the parking lot? Yeah before the game We're out again after Dean. So there's so much disturbing about this. I don't like I don't really want to talk about it from a
00 Jake: whatever but I want to talk about it from a Just from a sort of fan thing because I go to a lot of games away and I go to you know, I've been to Pittsburgh, I've been to New England, I've been to Baltimore, Dolphins obviously, Indy, and sure you get jeered and cheered and whatever, but I like that it's sort of, you know, it's semi-friendly environment, you know, football fans and as much as we love our teams, we We gotta keep, we gotta keep. what goes on the field and what happens off the field completely separate. We're humans, we live in America, we're fans of the football, we have so much more in common than we don't. So it just disturbs me and then it happened, I don't know how there weren't any police around, there seems to be security everywhere. Again, you yell at Tom Brady's dad. and they come and they talk to you, yet seven people can put someone in the hospital where he needed surgery. It just sickens me. It totally sickens me. So I kinda wanna just bring it up. Every fan out there who's a Jets fan and listeners podcast, please, please keep this type of stuff from happening in our stadium, both from being protective of other people, but of making sure that this just doesn't happen. It doesn't really sound like Jets fans had much to do with this. Well, but there must have been someone around. Noah was a Jet Fan who, what happened was there were, it sounds like, and again, who knows, but this is the story, that seven KC fans were following some Jet Fan and yelling 911 taunts. This guy turned around because he had someone who was involved in 911 turn around and say, hey, listen, knock it off, and they just beat the snot out of him. But putting him in the hospital, not like, just like... you know, pour beer in his head. It just sickens me, you know. And I'm not gonna say, oh, it's a Kansas City Chiefs fan, because if you'd asked me the worst fans in the league, they probably would have been like 31st, 32nd, like I wouldn't have thought of it. It's just humans. So at this point, take away the fandom. It's humans treating other humans like shit, and I just, I think it's disgusting. And so I hope that everybody keeps a watch out for this stuff. And if you see something like that going on or drunk people, whatever, please go to the security, go to whatever, text whatever, or go stand up. And you know, if you have five or six guys, you go stand up for that one guy and make sure this shit doesn't happen. Because it's just it's amazing. There's 80,000 people in a stadium and yet someone gets beat up. by seven chief fans beat up a Jets fan in the Jets parking lot. Like even if it were reversed it wouldn that be good. It's just amazing that that happened. So sickening, sickening. So that's it on Town Choir. The other two pieces of news was an interesting article on... You're referencing this agenda you got to share it with in your other account. Well, what's the fuck? What other account your other account big boy? Oh, why would you do that? I actually sent you an email about it, too No, you didn't. Yes. It's aware to your Gmail account. I don't check that. Oh, don't check why would you do that?
03 Jake: because you're stupid. Wait, no, you're stupid. No! That's your stupid. No, I put it in the agenda. Where do we put our agendas for the last 135 episodes? Google Wave. And where, and what account was that associated with? Not the one that you just shared this with. That's right, because we're not going to care anymore. Why would you do that? I sent you an email, told you where it was. Don't do that. Why do you not send in why do you not check your Gmail? When was the last time you sent me an email to my Gmail account? I send you all the time. Go check it. Never. Go check it. You never, cause I don't check it. Well I talked to the next part of the podcast. That's terrible. You're awful. Oh, okay. That was, that's a mistake on your back. No it's not. That's the account we're gonna use. No I don't want to use that account. We will talk about that later. Yeah. Before you make it. arbitrary decision. I don't have the agenda and I'm not opening it. Okay, that's fine. You can just check your Gmail account. I'm not doing that. So the other thing... God, that's annoying. Wow, this has nothing to do with the jets or the podcasts. It's just so annoying cuz... Oh my god, just kidding. Oh my god, look. Now I have- Oh look, there's all these emails there! No, because now I have to go to like all these different browsers because I have different accounts. You're really pissing me off with this. Yeah, it's terrible. It's annoying, it really is. So the other news that came out, obviously Leonard is gone for the season, which is a bummer, but they put out some stats, which I thought was interesting, about... the win-loss and sort of what happens to the defense based on last year's stats, what happened with Leonard after he went out. And it was put up by Rich Samini from the stats department, whatever. And I thought the interesting thing was that he puts out these things and it basically says that without Leonard, you know, people had more passing yards, more running yards, and you know, wasn't as good. And everybody in the comments thread said immediately, but wait a second, you're counting the PATS game, right? Because the PATS game is the second one. There you go, you open the agenda. This thing? No, that's the hospital thing. Oh, you reverse ordered it too. Man, you're on a roll. I am on a roll. You just can't keep up. You're stupid. You can't keep up. Justin: All right. Jake: So this is talking about the weeks one through 12, the week 13 through 17 of last year, and how... video. Bye! So basically he basically says you know it got worse but then if you look down the comment thread someone said well everybody including me so wait a second you're counting in the New England game he got hurt on a Friday we played the New England game on a Sunday and we got destroyed in that game like literally destroyed so if you took out that game I think the overall on it is that while it's a hurt to our team it did not Take as big effect After so if you take out the New England game pass per attempt pass attempt per TD Before Leonard was hurt was 25.6 after it was 22 Rush per TD before he got hurt was 46.7
01 Jake: after it was 34. Opposing points per game before he got hurt was 17 after it was 18. And win-loss was 9 and 2 last year before he got hurt and 2 and 2 or before he got hurt and 9 and 2 after he got hurt. So if the stats don't lie, again this is throwing out the New England game. Still worse. Well, some of them aren't. No, they all are. Rush per TD? Yeah. So you want you want those numbers to be higher? Oh, rushing we are is per TD, yes. Rushes per touchdown. Right, but opposing points for points for game, which is I think the important one. One point differential. I would argue the win-loss is the important one. Yeah, but that's also going into the playoffs when people have to win games. like us had to win games and we were two and two. Again, two losses with Leonard in 11 games, three losses with Leonard without Leonard in five games. Remember we were also without other people. Come on, you're just the worst. You're killing me today. with this with this stuff. What stuff? Sharon of the wrong plays. The studio is not set up correctly. Studio is set up correctly. It's all sorts of things going on. We got the dog here. Want to make the dog bark? Want to make the dog bark on the podcast? A brick? Oh, get out of here. Go away. Alright, so what do you think about the Leonard Effect? How much of an effect do you think is going to happen? Not as much this year as it had last year. It won't be as bad. There's no New England. You know, I will say though, the first week, this Philly team, if there's one thing that they can do when Michael Vick is playing, is they can... They can put yards up on you. They might not score, but they can go up and down the field. They will go up and down the field. And we'll get the numbers, and we'll talk about a little bit of numbers. Everything except for points per game, they have better numbers than us. They rush more, they pass more, they don't win more. But they're definitely a good. They're definitely a good offense. They can really move the ball. They have one of the better, probably top three, top five running backs in the league in LaShawn McCoy. They have some weapons on the outside. We'll get to it. So the last piece of town choir news, as we sort of gel into our, maybe it's just because it's too early in the morning to be doing a podcast, was that just someone posted saying, Sanz has a pro bowl quarterback, in terms of numbers. What I'm going to take from this is, here's the media, the right-winged, right-winged, whatever media, who has been sort of slamming Marc Sanchez all season. We specifically have been defending him, and here is, after slamming him, they're like, actually, you know what? He's actually not having a bad year there.
01 Jake: Actually, it was Rox Ryan, if you read the article. It's Rex Ryan saying it, not Rick Cimini. No, Rick Cimini was saying that, you know, someone asked him if he was a pro board, he responded, but I mean, here's the thing, for a quarter of his, even for his code, Mark Chan is quietly posting some impressive numbers. Well, isn't it two weeks ago that everybody says he's the worst, and they were probably wanting him killed, and now he's quietly posting? Not quietly, he's been doing it all season. Like he's had, the four touchdown game wasn't last week. Thank you very much for watching. See you next week. It wasn't two weeks ago, it was last week, but the forward throwing touchdown game, you know, it hasn't been that quiet except for Everybody's just sort of on his case So what do you think do you think Sanchez Pro-core? Let's go through it. I think that's a fun little exercise. What are what are our options here? Let's let's go through Want to look at some rankings for quarterbacks? I don't really need to look at rankings. I guess I kind of more need to just look at all the teams in the AFC and just I can think of their quarterbacks kind of off the top of my head. So let's go through and just get rid of some teams right off the bat. So New England you got Brady, he's in, right? So that's the AFC. So let's put Brady in. in the south. I don't think Shops injured no one on the Colts no one on the Jags no one on the Titans alright, so we still only have one in the north You got Big Ben alright, so put Ben in Flacco Probably argue Sanchez having a better year than Flacco Dalton's a rookie. He's having a good year But he's still a rookie in their teams falling apart Nothing with the Browns. Then out west, River's not having a good year. I think Tebow's the guy. I really do. I honestly feel like- Just because of the votes for- Yeah, I feel like if you're to go through the AFC and they take three, I feel like Tebow is probably the third. And Sanchez won't be eligible to play in the Pro Bowl anyway. Why? Because he'll be playing in the Super Bowl. Ah, very good. Well, just some other numbers. I mean, you know, in terms of touchdowns for the season, obviously, Rodgers is 39 and number one, you know, followed by Brady, big drop off there. You know, a bunch of these guys are on pace to break Marino's record. I think four quarterbacks are on pace right now. But Sanchez there are 21 touchdowns so far. he's ranked ninth in terms of touchdowns across, you know... 32 quarterbacks. I think that's pretty good. Yards per game you look at, you know, Sanchez ranked 11th? I mean these are not, you know, such as numbers. These are okay numbers. Let's see, interceptions. He's probably up there in interceptions. Who's got the highest interceptions? Josh Freeman with the most, Sanchez ranked... Oh, where is he down here? Oh, 13th in terms of receptions. Ben Rothenberger above him,
04 Jake: Drew Brees above him, Tom Brady. But they throw the ball a lot more. Vic above him, Ryan above him. Vic has not played in as many games. Vic doesn't throw the balls. Eli throwing more interceptions. I have a board wager with someone on that. He throws the ball a lot more. If you look at the attempts though, where's the attempts? What column is attempts? to that one. So I mean, he doesn't throw the ball as much as some of these guys. Yeah, Breeze, Stafford, Tom Brady, Eli Manning all have the top attempt. Breeze, wow. Yeah, that's why he has 11 picks, because he's thrown the ball 100 more times than Sanchez has. Well, he's going to. So anyway, that's, uh, I still think it's some good news on our part. I'm looking forward to next year, even though we haven't finished up this year. What else? Oh, one other last piece of story, sort of a small story, but I kind of want to bring it up because of, now that you actually found the agenda, was that the NFL renews their television deals. And this is important for a couple of reasons. If you're a fan of the Jets or any at the NFL, you need the NFL to make money. The more money they make, the more chances of them staying and expanding. There's all sorts of things. But basically, the things that I thought stood out from this were, they're going to expand the weeks. They're talking about expanding the weeks that there is a flex, which is very good. What does that mean, expanding the weeks? More weeks. More weeks. More flex weeks. So we're not stuck with the cults from this year. Right, and they're going to allow for more flexes, they're all going to allow for CBS and Fox to flip games during mid-season. CBS and Fox to flip games? Yeah, so what goes right, traditionally Fox does... NFC, ABC does... CBS does AFSA. You're confusing yourself. No, I'm not. The point is that the games that they have that are set in the schedule, they are going to be able to, in the middle of the season, flip them. Really? Yes. Oh. So it allows for more flexibility for what they can have. And then the last piece I thought was interesting was... It's the last line, which, again, maybe for a geek like me, looking, you know, who listens to podcasts... was the deal includes a TV Everywhere package, writes for the networks to simulcast games online and on tablets. Not on mobile phones, but on tablets. That's big news. Yeah, I want that. Because that means that CBS, Fox, NBC, oh, NBC is starting to, I guess, I guess NFL is doing it with the NFL Thursday Night Games now on the iPad. But basically, they're going to be able to put out an app on your iPad that allows you to watch games. I think you missed one other big point. Alright, go for it. Which is that NBC, the Sunday Night Game, they're going to be picking up the...
06 Jake: The Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving, Thursday Night Game. So it won't be on the NFL Network anymore. It'll be on NBC. So then CBS, Fox, and NBC will have all three games on Thanksgiving. And they're expanding their... Well, they're not expanding, they're just exchanging. Because traditionally, or at least over the last bunch of years since NBC started doing it, I think in 2006 or so, NBC had two wildcard playoff games, and they would pick the ones that they wanted. I think they'd pick they would pick the one that they wanted then CBS or Fox would protect the other ones and then they would get the last one and they would have I think the Saturday of the wild card so now they're exchanging one of its current wild card matchups for a divisional matchup and they're doing a Sunday morning pregame because we need more of those yes That's gonna be on their sports network that they're they're representing versus and there will be more Thursday night games I like that. I like Thursday night. I like Saturday night. I want football. Yeah, I don't like four times a week I don't I wanted Thursday night. I want a Saturday night and I want the Monday night and then I want Sunday well you're getting that's it this week. This is the week. I love it. I love it I love it. I never do Saturday until college is over. That's the only reason to do Saturday. I love it It's college is over. They're just appeasing college in that respect, but they should they don't have to I don't I actually Like having football in one day But it's never on one day well two days normally But being meaning being one big game the Thursday night thing I think the only thing about it is It really leaves some teams in bad positions. Left us in a bad spot. If we would have played Denver on Sunday, I guarantee we would have beaten them. I think we would have come closer. All right, so that's the news. I think it's interesting. Again, if you're a fan of football, I know this is all kind of like technical talk, but this is important stuff for the NFL to survive. They're expanding, they're getting more games, more different situations. I think that's great. A lot of money. Yes, money is important. Lots. We'll see you next time on Fox. Alright, so let's get into our Jet Kingdom pick-em! Yeah, let's do that. Let's do it. Now that you've finally found the agenda, so let's go for it. How did we do last week? We both did really well. When you look at it, I think we both had 11 last week. Which is good. We didn't win. No, the winner, let's see. The winner from last week, week 14, was the Arizona Jets fan. Like 13. We were tied for second with 11, the two of us. So while I had my best week of the season with 11, I could not make up any ground. I'm still 12 games back of you with three weeks to go. I still hold out hope that I can pick up four games a week and beat you. Well, I'm happy because I'm only 12 games behind the leader.
01 Jake: And I think for the first time this season I've actually gone I'm 100 for 100. So I'm actually 50% in my picks. You are under 50%. What are you even... what is 100? Oh you're 100 and 100. 100 and 100. Gotcha. I'm exactly either. You're 500. I'm a 500. 100 of us 100 is 500. Now. Are you? I'm 88 and 112. I'll get there. No good. I'll get there. I'm going to get everything right the rest of the year. Wow. Bank that. All right. Well, let's make our picks. Again, we're going to make two sets of picks. We're going to make a Jet Kingdom pick. We're going to pick all games except the AFC East. We're going to talk about the spreads. Did you put that on our agenda somewhere? Yeah. Yeah, it's in there. Yeah. OK. I don't see it. and then we will talk about the AFC East game in the AFC game. Yeah your crappy agenda. I will do that right now. So let's start with tonight's game. Today is Thursday, there's a game tonight. Last week we did our pod after the night game so we didn't get to predict it and I missed it on this little pick-em-lost. I will say in all honesty I would have lost the game anyway. You lied to these people normally? I would have lost. I would have picked Pittsburgh and they did not cover. So, alright, starting off. We got a heck of a game tonight. Not really. We have Atlanta home to Jacksonville. Atlanta needs the game for the playoffs. Jacksonvilles. just playing out the season basically, although, they did put a whoopin' on Tampa last week. You know, Jacksonville is one of the teams who's had their head coach fired. Umm, yes. Three teams now have had their head coach fired. We've beaten all three of those teams this year. Really? Yeah, in Jacksonville we crushed. Miami we crushed and Kansas City we crushed. We are the coach slayer coach slayer. I don't know if anyone else has played all three Um, I don't know if that's even possible with the schedule being the way it is. But anyway, uh, atlanta is hosting jacksonville tonight Atlanta needs the game. They're also favored by 11 and a half. I think that's a little too high. Atlanta is really not that good um and Jacksville, hell, they can hang tough in these games. I think 11 and a half is too much, so give me Jacksville. No, two weeks ago they got destroyed by San Diego. Week to week, week to week. Yeah, I think 11 and a half to, you know, a little bit too much. I'll take Jacksville. Oh, I should make you pick, by,
02 Jake: Alright, Dallas is heading to I'm gonna take Dallas, a good rebound game. Temerby is horrible. Temerby does not have the ability to come back like the Giants do. Giants need to be doing this all season long with this comeback thing. I must admit, I did not watch the end of that game. I fell asleep in the third quarter, which I never do. I just fell asleep. So yeah, I think Dallas can win this by seven, so give me Dallas. I agree. Give me Dallas too. Next game, Chicago. who came off of a T-Boeing. Oh, they got T-Bode. T-Bode is playing Seattle. And, you know, I got to say, Seattle is coming along like they did last year. They're a tough little team. They can run the ball. They can play decent defense. They're not. too bad. I don't know what happened to them earlier in the year. I mean, I know that they beat the giants in MetLife Stadium, but they're really not that bad. And Chicago still has Caleb Haney and still no Forte back. And Chicago's favored by three and a half. They're not... I can't see why that's three and a half. Like, I don't get it. I'm gonna take Seattle. Uh, agreed. I think Lynch is running hard. He has been playing out of his mind. Yeah. Chicago, I don't know if, I mean, other than a defense and some sort of special players on defense, I don't know what they have. Yeah, they have a good defense, but I don't really, I mean, I don't really see how they're gonna be able to... like score that much. I just, Caleb Haney's horrible. Don't know. Give me Seattle. Yeah, damn it. We're all on the same team still. God damn it. This one will be a flipper. You think? Tennessee is going to Indy and Tennessee is favored by six and a half on the road. This is Justin. I'll just pick, I don't care. This is a Justin's picking with his heart and picking Indy. Wow, so I thought that was gonna be the chip, I mean 7.5? 6.5. 6.5. And Indy, Indy is horrible, but for some reason I feel like this is the game they win. Well Tennessee doesn't have a healthy quarterback right now. There's talk of Rusty Smith. getting in there. Rusty Trombone. Rusty Trombone. There's talks of that happening. I honestly think that this is the game that Indy wins. I don't think they're gonna win this and so I think this is the game they win. This is as good a shot as they have. You know, Chris Johnson, he's weak to weak. Like some weeks he'll blow up. He should explode. He should explode but every time you think he will he doesn't. So I think this is the week they win. You think? Give me Indy. What's the rest of their schedule just to look Indy. Indy's got Houston, not gonna win, and at Jacksonville, not gonna win. This is it. They can beat Jacksonville. No. At Jacksonville? Is Jacksonville's defense? No. They got winnable games, but they are the Colts they do stink. And I like that they stink. By the way, your Zephyrluk thing is now...
00 Jake: Oh, they're gonna pick him. Just, just to, while we're on the cults, should the NFL retroactively go back over the last five to seven years and just give Peyton Manning all the MVP awards for the last seven years? Just because... Isn't it clear that... how good he is? Well, like next year when he comes back and they go 10-6, shouldn't he just win the MVP? Like you're just... you're... you're plus 10. No, yeah. You're one player, plus 10. Um, I don't know. I don't know. It's so hard to tell because I think a lot of people doubted what Indigo was going to do this year anyway. There was a lot of doubt. Whether it was pig manning or not, a lot of people were saying, you know what? there. They haven't been improving, they've been slipping. I don't know. I honestly don't know. It's hard to say. The one thing I will say is, which would the coach be fired for this? The coach should have been fired anyway. He's not a good coach. He should have been fired when they lost in the playoffs to us last year. He's not a good coach. So you just fire him because he's not a good coach. He's just not a good coach. And they're talking about it. This is an easy way to fire him. It's like, all right, you're fired. Well, it's like, but then again, why not fire him seven weeks ago? They just want to wait until they're just done. May as well just not win with the guy. You have an even better excuse to fire him. You want to make a long-term prediction. I actually don't think that they'll come back and be a a a uh, 8. team that gets in the playoffs next year. I'll put it out there right now. Amy does not make the playoffs next year. Yeah, I mean, Houston's really looking like the team in that division for the next couple years. So we'll see. All right, next game, we're still one o'clock. Green Bay is going to Kansas City, led by Romeo Cranel. And I saw announced that Kyle Orton is gonna be starting this game for Kansas City. They're gonna give up on the palko? That was just a... PINKO PINKO! I don't think they ever had any expectations there. I don't know why they didn't have a real backup quarterback in place. It's not like Matt Cassell's like... Matt Cassell is their backup quarterback. That's what I mean. It's not like he's like anything special really. Getting a lot of money. So... Don't know I like Green Bay in this game to go into Kansas City and just kill them Just saw the Jets kill Kansas. I'll tell you green Bay not killing 14 points. I'll take Casey We just beat him by 20 something and I still don't care. All right Dropped at the one like he's supposed to Don't would have beaten him by 20 something Cincinnati going to st. Louis st. Louis is horrible And Cincinnati's favored by six on the road. Picking against them, I don't care. St. Louis. Yeah, St. Louis is horrible. Uh... They are horrible. But I think at home they could have a little boost. They're just terrible. I could see them keeping in this game. I actually picked St. Louis. I'm not picking with my heart here. I'm picking St. Louis. This could be my week of downfall or total win. This is my heart completely.
01 Jake: Alright, um... Next game still at one o'clock New Orleans is going to Minnesota This game started off with no line. It's now New Orleans by seven. I can't tell if that reflects Adrian Peterson playing or not. I Can't tell my guess is it is he was close to coming back last week I don't know why they put him back in I don't I don't think he should unless he's unless he's gonna get some sort Of bonus for showing up unless he's on his own fantasy team And he's like, I gotta get in there and win my fantasy league. There's lots of stuff they put in their contracts that if they're in so many games, start so many games, so many yards, so many touchdowns, so I could see this as being like Kim saying, I gotta play because if I don't play the next three games, I could be out a lot of money. And people will play for money, surprisingly. Taking a sharp left turn before we actually make our picks on this game. Speaking of those incentives and caveats and contracts... Yes. The the Jets lost a seventh round pick this week because of Derek Mason Derek Mason. Oh, he didn't was if he would have caught 33 balls We would have gotten a seventh round pick from Houston as a compensation. Yeah but he caught like 11 and then they cut him. It's always weird to me though, like what if Houston was in a tight battle for like the first or second seed and they really needed to get that seed and Mason going into the last game, I mean he really came on, he exploded onto the scene for Houston, Shaab was still playing, they needed to win the game and he had 31 catches going into the game. They wouldn't care about that 7th round pick. Do you care about your 7th round pick? Yeah, I think the picks are valuable. Name the last 20 7th round pick. Name the last 7th round pick who actually plays and does anything on our team. I don't know, but it doesn't matter. That's the point. 7th rounders? Yeah, but you accumulate them, you can move up a little. You can like package 7 7th rounders for like a 5th. Like they have so little value that they don't really move up a little. 4th rounders. Fifth round there's maybe when you get to six sevens just picking big fucking experiments big fat guys like alright Well, maybe you'll become a fatter bigger guy or Tom Brady Anyways, the one time that one time it happens. It does not happen That's what you look for. I'm gonna pick New Orleans given seven. I will take New Orleans as well I am NOT gonna catch you in the dome Alright, moving right along we have the G-Men. The Giants are home at MetLife Stadium coming off of a big emotional win. And they're facing another division rival in Washington who hung pretty tough with the Pats after hanging pretty tough with us. I think they're actually... One of those teams that's decent and then just loses? Someone even said they're like the new kid on the block. I don't know what that means. Wow, you just use hanging tough twice and I use new kid and you don't get it?
00 Jake: I, I didn't. Should I put it on the agenda for you? Yes. Uh, it just made no sense. But, um, it's exact. I get it. Factually incorrect. It was no fun. Um, the line is seven. The Giants are favored by seven and I think it's going to be closer than that. Washington might even win the game. I'll take Washington. Yeah taking Washington I don't the the Giants are this like this, you know backdoor team again. I did not watch the game last week I know what happened, but I did not watch it I think the audience because I think the Redskins will stick it in there with them I don't know. Yeah, so I think they're gonna hang close hang close All right last one o'clock game A lot of the Jets rooting interest games are happening at 1 o'clock, so we'll know the deal going into our 4 o'clock game. Let me just back up for a second. The deal is fucking just win. Yeah, but we the fans will see the deal. The fans should be like, they shouldn't be allowed to look at scoreboards. No, we the fans know the deal. Just fucking win three games. Yeah, but I'm allowed to scoreboard watch. No, I know, but as a jet ban now, we're in the driver's seat, we have no, there's no excuses, you win. No excuses. Winning in. Play like a champion. That's right, play like a jet. Alright, Houston is hosting, um, Carolina. Actually this isn't a Rudy interest game, I'm not sure why I said that. Yeah, it's not. Uh, so Houston chose to Carolina unless you want to actually go to Houston. I kind of do. Yeah, so Houston is favored by six and a half and I think that's too much, um, for, for I know the TJ Yates experiment has been going well, but It's not like they've been blowing teams out of the water and Carolina can score so six and a half is a little much I'll take Carolina. Yeah, I'll take Carolina to fuck you You see I'm not even changing my fix hate you all right no, I think Carolina has a chance of winning this I feel like I feel like there's this side, there's this team that like, they're not winning games, but they have the chance to almost win any game. And I feel like they're gonna win a couple of months. They have a chance because they have, you know, Cam Newton. When you look at it though, Cam Newton's numbers aren't as spectacular as they seem. He throws for a lot of yards, he runs for touchdowns, but he's got a shit ton of interceptions. Yeah, well one game he was just throwing on the left. He's got like a lot of inter... more interceptions than touchdowns. So like, that's not good. Alright, so let's move on to 4 o'clock. This is a rooting game. Detroit is going to Oakland. Detroit on the road is favored by one. I think Oakland's fallen apart. I think Detroit's back on the wagon. Give me Detroit. Yeah, Cam Newton. Favored by one. Cam Newton, 15 touchdowns, 16 interceptions. I know he's ran for a lot. Yeah, that's a rookie thing, you know. Who do you have? I have Detroit. I have Detroit as well. Great. Fuck off. One point? I mean, come on. Detroit. Oh, they're on the road. Yeah, but I feel like Detroit is enough weapons, and I just see Oakland just...they're
03 Jake: colliding. I think they're collapsing. They're collapsing. And when Dom can sue his back, so... SOO is back, they're collapsing, you know, the experiment, the Palmer experiment, I mean he was throwing pick left and right last week. Yeah, he's back to being Carson. Like they were going out of style, like he couldn't throw enough. They're another injury ravaged team, a lot of their skill players. And McFadden is like never going to back. McFadden, Moore, Ford, or not Ford. Yeah, Ford. To Kobe Ford. Yeah, a lot of guys out. Alright, Arizona is hosting Cleveland in a Who Gives a Shit matchup. Arizona favored by seven. They're actually kind of hot right now, Arizona. They're so hot right now. So hot right now. I'm gonna take Cleveland with the points. I'll take Arizona! Alright, good. Alright, Sunday night! Sunday night! Uh, Baltimore is... Let's just talk. Out of the four prime time games now. Yeah, we have four prime time games. Sunday and Monday nights are both good. And the other two suck. Um, yeah. But Sunday and Monday are good. Good games. Baltimore has the chance to... Basically and San Diego season. I know San Diego. They think they're still in the thick of things. I think there are two games back of Denver maybe three with three to go Baltimore is on the road. They're in San Diego Baltimore's favored by two and a half Ray Lewis is coming back and I like that Baltimore defense to swallow up everything San Diego tries to do, so give me Baltimore. Yeah, I actually think this is gonna be a letdown game for Baltimore. Baltimore has this thing of during the season they've been having these letdown games, going across time zone, San Diego, San Diego being at home, I actually see San Diego not only winning, but covering, so. You know what's good about this game? Is it doesn't matter to us? Well, no, Baltimore going all the way across. ... ... the country, same thing with Pittsburgh. So Baltimore's going across for a Sunday night game. And then the next week is a Saturday game. So your Sunday, they're not finishing that game until 11.30 at night. Getting ready on a plane. They're not getting home till Monday morning. Their week is much shorter. Sam, Um... Pittsburgh even more like they're playing in San Francisco On Monday night, and then they have to play again on Saturday So really short weeks for Baltimore and San Francisco having to go all the way to the west So yeah ours is things to ours for travel is pretty good I mean, you know we Philadelphia is not no getting on a bus going Philly and I'm coming back and we're playing at home Right. Not a big deal. Although the Giants are playing home too.
00 Jake: I know. It's the same difference. Alright, so last game Monday night before we get to the AFC East. No spread. This is all about Big Ben. So San Francisco is home. They're hosting Pittsburgh. What do you think they'll be favored? San Francisco? Yeah. I think they'll be favored either way. It's just a matter of... under three versus more than 400. Not 400, but I think if Big Ben plays, San Francisco may be favored by a point. Big Ben doesn't play, San Francisco probably favored by six and a half, seven. So San Francisco has one of the best defenses in the league. They've, I think, allowed like three rushing touchdowns all season. They don't let people rush on them. Pittsburgh doesn't really have a good rush to start with. that men in hall has not really been that... big of a rusher this year. I don't know. I can't see San Francisco losing this game. Big Ben or not Big Ben. Well with Big Ben I can see him losing this because they just throw, they just whip the ball around. It's just a matter of is it Big Ben that can move or is it Big Ben that we saw in the second half where he just a three-step drop stand there, stand there and get rid of the ball. Right. Because San Francisco get all over you and they're not Cleveland. That's a good defense. So I'm picking San Francisco either way. I am picking San Francisco as well. All right. All right. Let's get on to some thrown picks. Thrown picks. So we'll start with Buffalo hosting Miami. Yep. And this game's off. I think that's the matmoor concussion. Yep. It matters that much. Um, all right. Well, that's interesting. So Buffalo is hosting them. I think Buffalo wins this game. I think Buffalo gets gets off of their their their slide that they've been on here. And at home, Division rival, kind of what they need. sort of looks like crap last week with a concussed quarterback. I mean, I don't know who, I mean, who is their third stringer at this point in Miami? I have no idea. So yeah, that's not, that's not. Tyler Thigpen? Yeah, he might be Thigpen. I don't think that's gonna work out. I'm gonna call it Miami 13, Buffalo 19, although they have not been looking very good, but yeah, I see them winning at and in Buffalo. I just don't see Miami sort of standing up for this game. They're out of it. Their coach is gone. I don't see them getting the coach has gone bump because he's sort of been fired all season. So I'm going to call it 13-19 Buffalo. All right. Moving right along. You know, I had this score and I'm going to change this. I'm going to change this here. Um... New England is going to the Denver T-Bos. The T-Bos! This is too bad this is on a floor,
00 Jake: because I really would have liked to watch this game. I could root for both of them to just beat the shit out of each other. Will I be able to watch this? Yeah. Throw it on there. This is a weird game. Like, I hate Tim Tebow so much, and I kind of want Denver to lose just to... I just want those teams to lose. Like all the teams that are in our general vicinity of record to just lose. Because you, well yeah, here's the thing. Because I don't think we can catch the Pats at all. No, there's no catching the Pats at all. Because they would have to lose all three of their games and we'd have to win all three of our games and that's our only chance. The only, the reason we want everybody to lose, obviously there's got to be a winner from the divisions. So someone's got to win. It's not like if we win Denver or San Diego is winning that division, someone has to win it. Right. And with the Baltimore Pittsburgh situation, those two are in. They're both ahead of us. One of them has a tiebreaker over us. Unless Big Ben's missing the rest of the season and Pittsburgh's losing three in a row, still think they're in. Still think they're going to be in. So yeah, what we need a little bit of breathing room. Right now, it's all neck and neck. We have the six seed, but it's neck and neck. We slip. someone else who wins a game, we're out again. So we need some breathing room. It would be nice to have the ability to have a game or two that could go wrong. Because we're not playing Schmo's in the next three. We're playing three games that we could win, but we could also lose. It's not like we're going up against the Rams, the Cardinals. No, it wasn't our last three games, which was. . Buffalo, Washington, Kansas City where we said let's win these three and pick our heads up and see where we are Right. Well, well now it's gonna pick your heads up So now we we're we're exactly where we need to be we won the three games we need to win It's now a matter of can we you know win the next three? So we definitely need all the help we can get We're looking north to ask the Pats to help the Pats need to help us. Yeah. Yeah, they need to help us All right. Well with that said the Pats are favored by six and a half In the picks I'm picking Denver to cover that spread, but I'm picking New England to win the game 27 23 and be the team I'm switching my oh you asshole. No, I'm switching away. Okay good. I'm picking New England to be the team that You know, I feel as if here's how it's gonna go New England's gonna be ahead Like there gonna be a head like 20 to 16. Five wins. 37, 34, 38, 31, 34.
02 Jake: I know they scored 30, but I think the Denver D and the Denver style of play is conducive to a lower scoring game. Yeah, I'm basically keep hoping for the thing that I want to have hope in happen, which is that Tim Tebow just gets showed up, showed up for who he is, which is he's not a real quarterback. He seems to be able to win these games. I don't think he's going to be able to score a touchdown. It's not that I think the defense is that good, but I think there's another guy with the hood on the other side who is that good. And I think he can coach up his players this week to say, here's what we need to do to stop this motherfucker. Well, if it doesn't go the way that I say it's gonna go, this game can very easily, what has happened over this whole winning streak for Denver is They haven't really gotten down like t-bows played like such dog shit in the first three quarters of these games To the point 20 in the to the point where they don't score points Before the fourth quarter or their defense scores for them So if the pads can just do what the pads do and be up 24 nothing in the fourth quarter Well, that's gonna be tough for Denver to come back from. Yeah, no, I think that's sort of my thing. I think they're gonna, I think this game's gonna start off sort of slow, but then Tom Brady's gonna turn it on, he's gonna win. I'm calling it 31-12 New England. 31-12? Yeah, they're not gonna score a touchdown. Okay, and then the game of the century, the game of the millennium! The New York Jets taking on the Philadelphia Eagles who we are historically own eight against. Yep. We've never won in Philly. Before last year we had never won in the state of Pennsylvania. So... History is not on our side here. That's okay. He's not the same old Jets. These are the Rex Ryan same old jets, right? Who win games that? That they look like they're not supposed to win So Mike Vick didn't practice yesterday because of the ribs but all indications are that he's gonna be playing Not sure about Macklin. I don't think he practiced but You know, he didn't really do much in last week's game. Right. When he came back, I think he might have even re-aggravated his hamstring injury. Who do you think, let's say they're all playing. Vic's playing. Macklin's playing. Jackson's playing. Who's Rebus covering? Do you think he's covering a side or you think he's covering a guy? What are your thoughts? Because I have my opinion. My thoughts are he has been much more successful when he covers a guy. My gut feel is, no staff to back it up other than my gut feel is when he's told this is your guy, he studies him, he knows his tendencies, he's very good at it when it's not switching back and forth. I feel like the switching back and forth is what gets us into trouble because someone loses that switch.
00 Jake: Oh no, it's your guy, it's this guy. I'd rather say it. Wait, you just said two... No, no, no. I say it gets... It's the thing that doesn't work when he switches. What doesn't work? That's the bat phone. What doesn't work? What? What? When, when, when, when, when he picks a side versus a person. I'd rather him cover a guy. Well, I think you just said the opposite thing. Well, in my head it's the same way, which is that I like it when Rivas covers a person, not a, not a side. So why would it be confused? Like, meaning when you're covering a side, you don't get lost. You just go to that side of the field. No, but then there's always a handoff if they start to swap or if you're not on a guy. But there's no swap. No, no, no. Listen to me. When you're on a guy, you follow the guy back and forth and he's your guy. You get to watch his tendencies, you get to know what you're up against. I like that better. I find that the Jets get... You've seen there's some coverage breakdowns because of... Especially with someone like Leonard not being in there. I want them just to know their assignments. Like now, they know their assignments. I know what Kamari's assignment is, and I know what Rie's assignment is. Okay, I think you're explaining it wrong, but okay. No, well that's my gut feel. My gut feel is he does better when he's one-on-one on a weapon. One weapon, take that weapon out, and make Vic focus on the other weapon. And which weapon do you think you should cover? Is the original question then. Well, you asked me which, do I want to cover side or... I want him to cover Jackson. Justin: Yeah? Jake: Because I think if Jackson gets out of the game, that gets him frustrated and he is there, he's their long ball hitter. Macklin's a great player. I feel like Jackson's the faster guy. I feel like, well, I know that. Jackson's the faster guy. He's the guy that... I think if you get physical with him, which is Reavis' thing, to get more physical with a guy, I think he can get pushed out of the game faster. Leaving Macklin, who's a... I think he's a bigger guy. Is Macklin bigger than Jackson? Not really. Not really. His bow is kind of short. I don't feel like he's the long ball hitter. I don't think he's the speediest guy. He's coming off injury. Give him the crow. Put crow on him, put Jackson on Reavis and Jackson literally could come out of this game with zero. Zero, zero, zero across the board. Like not on the stats. Okay, I disagree. Well, that's fine. Um, I think Reavis... What do you mean, why? I... well, I think Reavis should be covering Macklin. I don't think they should just say Reavis, you have the left. Crow, you have the right. I think that they should have individual assignments for this game. And I think I think Deshaun Jackson is a one-note receiver. He runs straight down the field. That's what he does. Like he doesn't really do much else in the short passing game. There's not a whole lot of you know route running necessarily by Deshaun Jackson. He runs straight down the field. I think Cromartie is pretty good at covering guys that just run straight down the field
02 Jake: He's taller. He's fast. He's I don't know if he's faster, but he's just as fast as Rebus and He's a bigger guy than Jackson. So if they're running down the sideline together, he's just a bigger dude Macklin on the other hand is more their possession receiver He runs routes, he does things on the inside, he does things on the outside, he goes down the field. He's more dynamic to me as a receiver. And you'll see games where Macklin will have eight catches and Deshaun Jackson will have two test jumps. They're long, but if you could... not every team has the option of putting a chromardi on a guy. Like, it's like, all right, which guy am I gonna cover? Well, we could cover them both. It's just a matter of who should cover who. And I think you're more disruptive if you could take Macklin out of the game than Deshaun Jackson. So that's just my take on it and I think Revas should cover Macklin. If Macklin's healthy and if Macklin's playing. Now if Macklin's not healthy and he's out there hobbling around, well then don't waste Revas on him. Like, put Revas on Jackson. I can honestly see because Jackson has been sort of a disruptive force on the team I could totally see them doing something that you know He gets out of games like you saw that game was it two weeks ago that Jackson just he just literally stopped playing like he Just looked like he wasn't even interested in the game. I Could see them doing something like starting Revas on and making just feel like he's not a part of the game and then he just won't be part of the game and then they don't have to worry about him anymore because he's sort of he's in his own head and now I think it's sort of the general thing about this team, this Eagles team. Very good team, they've got a good defense, they've got incredible players, they've got weapons all around. Vic can light people up both on his feet and in the air. But there are also a team that's sort of not really in it. Yeah, there's a percentage chance of whatever of winning, but they're not really in it. And I feel like this is a team that if you let them keep in, in this game, I think we're gonna lose. If they're in this game, meaning it's close, somewhere in the second half, third quarter, it's close, I think we're gonna lose this game. Thank you. If we take them out of the game, hit Vic a few times, a few interceptions, score on them, I feel like they're just gonna be like, okay, fuck it, we're out of this. Like, it's not even worth our time. I think this is almost a mental matchup as more of the physical matchup because I think this is a team that will fold and this is sort of their folding, this is the folding game. They lose this game and they're mathematically gone. One. So I just I feel like that's the game plan. The game plan is to mentally take them out of this game And once you do everything else will come to you Yeah, I think some of that can even be taken care of by other teams if Dallas wins on Saturday night They're out right the giant if they lose if the Giants win at one lock they're out, right? So like if they go into the game, you know, just alright, we're out
00 Jake: that that could be an influence. So why don't we get to our keys? Yeah sure. While we're, you know, talking about the game. So my key is actually going to be for the Jets offense. Okay. Even though I think this is more of a defensive challenge for us, I think there's a soft spot against these Eagles and I think it can be taken advantage of with Dustin Keller and Lydanian in Tomlinson. They, the Eagles, are in the top of the league in sacking the passer. So we're going to have to be efficient with quick throws, screen passes, they get very aggressive, and taking advantage of their shitty linebackers. So like Dustin Keller, Ladania Tomlinson, Sean Green are all going to have to be... excellent in the passing game. Whether it be the running backs catching screenplays or little throws over the middle, Keller catching passes over the middle or the running backs protecting, chipping, protecting against Cole and Babin. That to me is the key. Those three guys having an impact on the game. That's it, that's your key? Yeah, those three guys. Those three guys. Alright, big impact. Alright, well I'll make it on the defense then. You know, to say to contain Michael Vick is sort of the game plan anytime anybody's ever playing Michael Vick. This team will win or lose by him at this game. Right if he can scramble around if he can make plays, but he is wounded bird at this point, right? He is not practicing. He is, he's got injuries, he's had concussions, he's had, you know, bruised ribs. This guy is, is again, I think he's one or two hits away from not being in this game. And so it really comes down to whether we can keep containment on him and then give him a few licks. because I think a few licks and he will and again with all the other mental factors right that if they're not in it the Giants win the Cowboys win they have nothing to play for a few hits those ribs start to really to hurt so I think this is I think this is a game for Maven again I know I'm like the number one Maven fan and maybe that'll be my jersey next year but I think this is because this is where he should be good he's very very fast He can get to the quarterback. He needs to make that tackle though. When Vic starts to do that spin move out the back and go the other direction, he's got to understand it. He's got to stay in his path and take him down or chip him or something so he doesn't get a free ring because I could totally see, you know, he's not a rookie. He's played, this is his third year, maybe third year, but Vic's a special animal.
03 Jake: To me, it's up to that type of guy. It's third and 11, we're sending everybody, Maven's coming in, and you can just see Vic either he gets caught and it's over, or he, you know, escapes. And that- I'm not sure we're gonna be sending a whole lot of people. You don't think so? No. I don't. I think we're gonna be- hanging back a little bit. Stay in the lanes. Don't let him, don't let him escape. I think Vic needs a couple couple licks. Oh they're blitz but I don't think they're blitzes often as we usually do. So that's it for me. Again it's so, it's cliche to say contain Mike Vic and you win this game but that's it for me. And... I think that this this has to be a game where we take them out of it early and then they will fold and the Second half can be like the second half against the Chiefs We're all sitting around drinking beer and watch another games because like this game is over They stay in it. I Have enough weapons and they have some explosive guys that they can stay in it and you know You could see some some special stuff. What's happening with the punt return situation and kick return What do you think's gonna go on? So McKnight is back. DeVito is back I feel as if McKnight will return kicks and Curly will return punts and that's that. Not concerned at all? No. Are you holding your breath every time it goes up to Curly to return him? No. No. No? No. I don't have a sense of how good or bad the special teams of the Eagles are. If I had to say anything I'd say they were. They're rookie kicker, rookie punter, but I don't think they're... I don't think they're spectacular, I don't think they're awful. I mean, I know Deshaun Jackson's, a good 23-17. Interesting. We have not scored, I think in the last couple games, we've been scoring in the 30s, haven't we? So predicting that actually their defense is going to keep us in check. Yeah, I think their offense is more... They just consumed the ball for longer. Well, here's the one thing we have not talked about, which is kind of stupid. We haven't really talked about McCoy. Yeah. Shady. That's kind of like... So to me, this is a... keeping him in check. He's tough. He's probably their best weapon. I mean, again, this is a team full of weapons. It's like, you know, pick your poison. Who do you want to lose to? Yeah, he's tough. So I'm gonna call, I think, again, I think we're gonna win this game, but I'm gonna call it 29-23 New York Jets win. Hopefully are, uh, you know, on their way into a nice playoff berth. So, but that's the prediction. All right, so that's it for all the trials and tribulations of our agenda. And as such, remember to go to JetKingdom.com.
