09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away! Jake: Welcome to Jet Kingdom podcast. As always, the longest running New York Jets podcast on the interwebs. Is it as always? Justin: It's as always. As always. Go Jets. Jake: Go Jets. Justin: And podcast over. Jake: I'm Jake and joining me for the beginning of the podcast is Murray. Oh please. Please don't. He was just quiet. Stop it. He's quiet. We got the dog here. Justin: He's like... so now he's now, he's now he's is, is now he's now he's now he's now be his Jake: now, now he's R in the and it's is so Fit in the it is Weeeeee We shat the bed on Sunday. Did we lose? Uh, we lost. I don't remember. You know what? I will say. I don't actually remember. Do you know what? We didn't watch that game together. First game in a while we didn't watch it together. I'm just saying that was the problem. We got creamed. We got creamed. Creamed in the butt. So we're going to talk about that. We'll talk about other kingdoms. We're going to make our picks for the week. Our throne. Umm... uh, Thornpix and Urjet Kingdom pick them and uh, we'll do that before the end of the podcast. We can all have a good day, sir. Sounds great. So how, on a scale of one to ten, you know what size about the Thursday podcast? As opposed to the Monday where I was really angry? Justin: Yeah, well I wasn't even that angry. I gotta be honest, I really wasn't. Really? Yeah, it was, it was one of those like, we got beat so bad that I... didn't even really faze me and the fact that We still control our own destiny Also like makes me not be as upset about it like if we would have lost and Say like Tennessee took care of business and beat the Colts like then I'd have been like rip shit about it, but And that shit will happen. I mean you're gonna get your ass kicked Once or twice a year and it happened in the wrong time of the year and it seems as though The neck the next game after Jim Leonard gets hurt. We're gonna give up 45. Yeah, what happened two years in a row, so I mean better shit the bed in a week where everything still fell our way than not. That is true. And I will say it was the Shit the Bed weekend. It really was. I mean, it was. Oh my god, everyone Shit the Bed. Jake: The cults, the Tennessee Titans lost to the windless cults.
00 Jake: Right? The cults, yeah. And then the Packers lost to the whatever and whatever chiefs. Peace. I mean it was it was the shit the bed weekend we fell right on Oh Oh Pittsburgh Ravens I mean everybody should look like Oakland blew that game against Detroit Justin: I mean it was it was unbelievable. So I just say it was it was almost like an AFC shit the bed week Yeah, we were lucky that a that Oakland. I mean there was a couple plays that just Go one way or the other and the neck is just over. 98 yards down the field. Jake: In like two minutes. Justin: Oh by the way, thanks for showing up Calvin Johnson. Yeah. Way to go for 202 touchdowns the week after I get knocked out of the playoffs because of you. Oh nice. Thanks buddy. Really? Thanks bud. Are you that guy? Thanks buddy. You are that guy. I mean really. Yeah, you can split that effort over two weeks. Yes. Jake: All right, so let's talk a little bit about this game. I'm not going to talk a ton about it because it's painful memories. I don't even want to. Well, I was going to talk a little bit about it. All right. What the fuck happened? Justin: That's talking about it. Jake: What the fuck happened? Justin: I watched it. If I had the answer, I'd be a coach or something. I have to go to the... Here's my gut. I have to go to the thing here. Here's my gut on this game. Oh. I just... I'm sorry, let me stop. Did you find the agenda this week? You want to make a- I was in the agenda But I didn't see any news of this. I don't think you saw this news. What? Well, I was just gonna bitch and moan a little bit about this game and About how Michael Vick is such a pussy. Oh and that I thought that there were two Inappropriate roughing the passer penalty one one one was fine. The other one was just ridiculous like it What's the guy supposed to do? It's Michael Vick You have to tackle him and because he's Michael Vick and he didn't and he who tackled his hands out like the whole thing Was trying to back well apparently Calvin pace Been fined fifteen thousand dollars that was one that I thought should have been a for an illegal hit He slammed into Vic as he threw the touchdown to Brent Selick And was called for the 15-yard Roughing the pass or penalty He's he's planning to appeal. I Doubt he's gonna win You know most never win, but you know, whatever I thought that was a bullshit call. I thought there was actually a couple of bullshit calls in the game We always say that when we lose obviously, but yep, they were momentum killers one in particular I can't remember, you know if we were losing 14 nothing or 7 nothing at the time But it was early in the game very early and I'm just gonna try and bring up the the drive chart here So that I can look at it It was like a three and out that we ended up... Jake: Um... Justin: Oh, I can't remember which drive it was, but it was one of these drives where it was, um...
00 Justin: Maybe in the second quarter where we had the ball and... Trent Cole,, and Trent Cole ran across the line of scrimmage Oh yes And one or two of our offensive linemen like picked up their hands and swiped them away Swiped, well tried to hit him because they hit him Even if they move, like as I understand that rule The defense can come over the line if they'd like And if the offense doesn't move And the defense gets back behind the line Then it's nothing, it's literally nothing If the defense moves, jumps across And then the offense moves ... because of it, that's supposed to be on the defense. I don't know what these guys were calling because they called that on us and he was still across the line of scrimmage when we moved. So that's supposed to be on the defense. And that was like on a like a third and two and it made it a third and seven or a third and three and it made it a third and eight. Think that was the drive that that ended in a fumble the Sanchez fumble, I think Deep deep deep in Our own territory which basically blew the game out of proportion like 14 nothing fine. It was fit. Yeah We're driving 18 at one point. Yeah, but that was later in the half. We're driving Not really driving, but we have a third and two third manageable and then out of nowhere like It's third and seven and their front was just beating our offensive line the whole game And it was well, so the couple people we got talked about no, it's it's let's we're gonna get to our fools And I know who you're gonna pick and I have a guy that is Jake: Just as worthy. Okay. Well, I'm gonna talk about the guy because we can't not talk about him Which is sort of it was a game of homes, which is He kind of did two of the, he did two things which I, I feel are excusable because they're in a game and I don't want people to do, but I understand in a game something's happened. The thing that I can't get about San Antonio homes is doing the is when we're losing, and I hate that too, we're losing by still a ton. and he goes and does the 15 yard penalty mocking. He basically did the. You're gonna then go celebrate. You don't need to celebrate you just shut up. Shut the fuck up I honestly and I tweeted this during the game. I honestly think He should have been benched for the second half of that game. We were out of the game We were not gonna win that game. It was just not coming our way He should have been benched as just a you're not gonna play the second half of this game You you've embarrassed us you've embarrassed the Jets by doing that
03 Jake: You know, my gut feel on, you know, it's nice now. Thursday I look back, you know, Sunday, you're right. By the end of the game, I had made my peace with the game. It's nice when a game actually, when it's so out of control that you've made your peace by the end of the game. I usually, you know, if it's a close one and you lose it, it takes you like a day to get that bad taste out of your mouth, but it was like. Two hours of watching this game just knowing that we weren't going to win. Yeah, there's like that slim chance. But you're like, you know, they're just they're beating us. They're beating us badly. And we had it down to just 14 points. I think we're 15 points away going into the half. Yeah, which was two touchdowns. Justin: 15. And I thought, you know, Cromarti had a real good return. He was very close to breaking it. And we had the momentum like he would have broken that and he was really close We would have been down eight and this game would have been very different, right? but the fact of matter is he didn't break it we got the ball at the 42 and you know punt it and you know punted it down to Phillies 11 and That was the cellic boom downfield. Yeah ridiculous. At that point the game's over. Jake: They showed the stat of all the tight ends of what they've done against us. It's like I think he had the most like 150, 40 yards. Which the only thing that that really kills me on, not this week and not even next week. But if we want to go anywhere in the playoffs, we're gonna meet up with one of these guys who has one of these, you know, fucking amazing tight ends. And we're gonna need to control that a little bit. So, alright, so let's get away with this fucking game. We lost. We're still in the driver's seat. Let's talk about your... give me your full game. Um... Justin: Can I just pick the whole offensive line or do I have to take the other? No, you gotta take that fucking guy. Yeah. He almost got our quarterback killed, except many times. Then, and there you go. Jake: Done he's he would the only thing that I was looking for and they were even saying they were announcing it They just didn't help him out much like they never like threw another guy over there You know they say throwing a throwing him tight end to help chip or whatever They're leaving him out there just to like yeah, you're just gonna die by yourself, dude I just you got to help him out. He seems to be awful. He seems to be an up or down player because some weeks It's fine and no one ever touches it. He can't pass block. No. He's awful. Yeah. So I mean that's awful. Alright, well we gotta solve it quick because it's not like we're not gonna meet any teams with rushers. Cameron Wake and OC and Tuck and Paul whatever the fuck. Alright, I'm picking homes. I just don't get it. I don't get it. Justin: It's just so disappointing. No, you could say he lost the game. No, you honestly could. Because they, you gotta remember, these, where he turned the ball over, these were real drives. The first drive was a good drive, and they got it down, you know, they were starting at their own 7, after... You know, after forcing Philly to punt on their first drive, they got it at their own 7, they're driving down the field, they're at midfield and he fumbles.
08 Justin: The next drive, after Philly with the touchdown, we go way down the field and he turned, again he just drops a pass. Like that didn't seem to me like a bad pass. No. It hit off his like off his hands. Yeah in his face. He was right at his face Those are two drives that could have put points on the board I instead they were turnovers believe it or not they had four turnovers in the first half we had three believe that or not Oh one of them was that Hail Mary interception, but still like Yeah, I think they... Alright, let's move on. Jake: So what else happened last week? It was a crazy week. It was a crazy, crazy football week. We're going to talk about this. We'll talk about the Giants when we talk about the card. Justin: The Giants were terrible. We still control our own destiny. That's awesome. Which is awesome because Oakland lost. Tennessee lost and we still have the tiebreaker over since... Jake: Strength of schedule over since. Justin: Sure. That's weird. Well, that's because we were in second place and they were in last place last year. So they have the last place schedule. Jake: And I know this is... no Jetfan wants to hear this. But even if we lose this game, we still can make the playoffs. Because right now we're in the driver's seat. Which we were in the driver's seat last week and we're in the driver's seat again this week. But there's, because of the just the way, you know, if people start losing whatever, we could still make the playoffs if we lose. We need help. I don't want to use any help, but whatever. Justin: Yeah, I'm gonna give you one last little silver lining thing that I just believe. You know, we had just won three straight games. And you can't win six going in the playoffs? I mean, if you're gonna win six straight to get the wildcard, then you have to win three more to get to the Super Bowl, then win the Super Bowl, that's ten straight games. That's a lot of- that's a lot of gear. I don't think they won 10. Yeah they did because they were up to 20 something this year. Well that would mean that they would have- I don't think they won 10. They won 8 or something. I think they lost like week 15 or something. That was like their last loss. Because they- regardless, winning 10 in a row is kind of hard. So maybe we didn't have to give up 45 points. But losing week 15 and still having a chance to win and get into the playoffs on a two game win streak is Jake: Perfectly fine by me that that is the good side of it the bad side of it is The defense is not the defense you've known before no Justin: They're they're letting up way way too much. I mean well the Eagles are this team with Michael Vick They don't put up 45, but they will gain 400 something yards on you. Yeah, they will every time with Mike Vick. They go up and down the field. I think we said that last week. Yeah, Jake: and we just didn't think they would be able to score 45 points. It's a lot of points.
00 Jake: And again, part of it just looks like the team just got out of it and that was it. Yeah, Justin: they're at it. New England killed Thiebaud. That was kind of cool. I wanted that to happen. That was nice to watch afterwards. I was rooting for New England. I was rooting for New England too Jake: because we're not going to catch them. They're in the playoffs. I want them to be the one seed because I want us to be the sixth and have to go to the third. Houston. Houston which right now would be the Houston. Who plays this evening. So that's great. I want them to be the third. I want to go to Houston or the Denver. I'd rather go to Denver or Houston. I'd like to go to I don't want to go to. Yeah, not going to Denver. And then I wouldn't so we're the three and they're the one. We're not the three. We'll never go to. Sorry we're the six and they're the one. Oh we're playing them in the second game. We have to then. Oh yeah. There's no way to get around that? No. Oh, okay. Justin: I want someone else to hit them first. No. And see them in the FC Championship. No way. They don't... Let's get them like we did last year. It's exactly the same situation. It's exactly the same situation. It's the same exact situation. Yeah, it's true. Except this year, we haven't beaten them yet. It's hard to beat somebody three times in one year. Yeah, yeah What else happened? Let me beat the bills. Miami's now the tide Jake: Bills are on a epic lap although we collapse although we got a roof in this week. All right, let's get let's get to our Justin: We got some injuries. Should we talk about that? The game all right, so you want to do pick them. Let's do pick All right, we haven't done started down in a while Oh, well, yeah, we're giving that up. We gave that up. It didn't really go over so well. I didn't hear anybody give a shit So fuck it Fuck dad Alright, that's how we is so checking and pick. Um, this is us picking every game against the spread every week Let's see. How did we do? last week let's see who yeah let's see who's doing so last week week 15 Jake 11 oh my god and there I am with eight two of my better weeks in a row I'm actually kind of happy with that and you're still Jake: how many behind oh way behind okay oh forget it not even yeah no and I'm within spitting distance since the first place, so I'm happy now. I'm one with my brother-in-law, which is important, and I'm only seven out from the New York SAC Exchange, so I'm actually doing pretty well. Justin: So, let's pick these games. All of them will save the AFC East for last, where we'll talk a little bit more and pick a score. Let's do it. Ooh, I like it a lot. That was pretty good. I just... That's just... That's like a broadcaster. Jake: I didn't even think about that. That's not even a fan. That's a broadcaster. That's a broadcaster move. Do it. Write that down. That's a broadcaster move. A little bit more. Talk a little bit more, pick a score. That's right. That's a broadcaster move. I just tagline that. Just keep, just sound move. Justin: I just taco mark that. Don't taco mark it. Let's go. Tonight, Thursday night, we got Houston traveling to Indy. Indy coming off a big win. Amir, three hours away. And Houston is favored by six on the road. Give me Indy. Ugh, really? No, really?
00 Justin: Really? Jake: No, this is cool. I don't know if they're gonna win, but I think it'll be close. No, they shot their load, that's it. That's over, they're gonna go home now. Justin: I don't think Houston's that capable. Great, I hope not, but Houston wins. And Aaron Foster should have, by all accounts, 180 yards. 14 yards, Jones. Alright, give me his uh big game for the Jets Cincinnati is hosting Arizona and all of a sudden this Arizona team is not all that bad They are seven and seven and they are so hot right now They have won one two three four five six of their last seven games with John Skelton at the helm and Arizona is getting four points and they are a hot team. They're hotter than Cincinnati. So give me Arizona Jake: No, I'm still gonna take that. I'm so gonna take everybody for their incense Justin: See, I think since he's gonna turn it around and I don't think they I don't think they're capable. I think they're folding Speaking of folding Tennessee is hosting Jacksonville Tennessee is giving seven and a half as everyone knows I'm picking with the heart more than the brain these these Jake: Last couple weeks, so I'm thinking Jacksonville. That's not that's not the excuse you're using for your entire season Justin: No, just these last week, but I've been doing better these last bunch of weeks Jake: So maybe I'm always gonna do what you're saying is you really can't pick with your brain. Nope. It's just brain doesn't work. No, okay Justin: Yeah, give me Jacksonville. Alright, next one up we have Kansas City coming off of a big win for them against Green Bay. So by the transit theory we are better than Green Bay. Yes. Because we killed Kansas City and then Kansas City beat Green Bay therefore we beat Green I've seen lots of teams that we beat. Jake: then go and beat better teams and I'm like, oh, what does that mean? They're like red, Redskins killing the Giants. It just means we're better than Giants. Yeah, pretty much. The Redskins will see on Saturday. Justin: So Kansas City is favored here at home by one and a half. Had they lost to Green Bay, they would probably be the underdog by three points with Oakland. But this is a good rivalry game. We need Kansas City to win. So give me Kansas City. Jake: Yeah, I don't think Kansas City, I think that was their Super Bowl as well. They're gonna lie down again. Justin: To me, these are very similar teams now that Kyle Orton is the quarterback. They have similar quarterbacks, like with as far as their talent is concerned. I don't think either of them are very good. They're just confident. Jake: I think Carson Palmer had more talent. Had. Duh. Had, yeah. With a D. Yeah, with a D. Justin: But he's past that. He's not that good. Jake: No. But I still think he can I think they're dangerous enough that they can do better again. I think Casey's just like Justin: Just did all right, so moving right along we have Pittsburgh versus st. Louis Off this game's off big band situation Pittsburgh did not look very good on Monday night Oh San Francisco, which They were even talk about that in our town crier. Did you watch it all Rams were the Rams were I mean not the Rams
00 Justin: Sorry, the 49ers were all lights out. Yeah Jake: That was a that was an interesting situation. I did not watch one look at that game. Oh, it was interesting. I was waiting Justin: You know, I wanted to time my Going to the gym with when the game started. Yeah, I could go to the gym and watch like the first quarter or something at the gym Yeah and I had to like sit here and wait for like a half. I like screwed up my timing. You know what we also didn't talk about? What? Jake: We also didn't talk about that we went on tour of the stadium. Justin: Oh, let's talk about that before the game. Alright, um, so Pittsburgh is off. Uh, I'll take Pittsburgh at home with no line against St. Louis, who's terrible. I don't care who plays. Well, yeah. It doesn't matter. Pittsburgh's gonna be favored regardless. I, they can hand it off the entire game. enemy over there and save lives terrible next game Washington coming off of win against the Giants is hosting Minnesota giving six and a half that's a lot of points for a crappy team to be giving give me Minnesota I will take Washington at home all right Carolina is hosting the Tampa Bucks Tampa might be the worst team right now They're very bad. They're really really really bad. Yep I mean they might be at the level of the Colts and the Rams you're that bad Carolina's favored by seven and a half at home. I don't think Tampa could stop anybody Carolina I mean this this game has potential to be a very high scoring game, even though Tampa's offense is not very good Caroline's defense is really not very good, but I'll take Carolina. I'll take Carolina. I'll take it home. I'll take Cam Newton. All right, next game Baltimore is hosting Cleveland Baltimore is Such a home team like yeah, I don't think they've lost at home this year. Yeah, but they They don't travel well. They got demolished last week. Ray Lewis is back. It meant nothing. They just got creamed on the road. Jake: Oh yeah, by the way, we beat San Diego Chargers. So we're better than the others. Justin: Well, Baltimore beat us so we can't really do that. Jake: No, we as now we're better. Justin: San Diego... Doing that thing that they do at the end too late. It is a little late if they don't make the playoffs North's fire They should be late so they can get rid of him so they get a real coach. Yeah, so that he could come coach our office that's right, um Anyway, Baltimore's favorite at home by 13. I Think Seneca Wallace is gonna be playing in this game. That's my bet. I don't think McCoy will be back but I'm gonna take Baltimore regardless 13. I don't care. No don't like it with 13 still don't think that they're gonna crush them Jake: I they might win 21 I really don't Put the hammer down. I don't think so. I don't think they have a hammer to put down at home They got it. No, they have a defensive hammer. They don't know that's what I mean Justin: Let's go 25 points on deep. Oh, they might not playing four clocks four clocks Detroit is hosting San Diego Detroit is favored by two and a half Right now San Diego is on fire, and I don't really trust Detroit
02 Justin: I mean they get down too much too often and San Diego has got a real good offense to just keep you down So I'm gonna take San Diego. I think we I don't think we've agreed on one of these games, right? Jake: Yeah, great for me. I'm not gonna take Detroit Detroit at home I like it. They have something to fight for. So San Diego doesn't normally travel very well. I don't know, I just don't feel it for them. Again, I feel like they just played their Super Bowl too. They're out. And there'll be scoreboard watching. Is there anybody above them? Oakland wins. They're out. Justin: There's Oakland. Yeah, Oakland wins. I don't think they have a shot in the world. And there's the Chiefs, but well, it's the same game. Uh, alright, so Dallas is hosting Philly. Oh, that's a good game. And Dallas is giving two, which is really an odd line, don't you think? Dallas is a, like, a very, like, public team. They're like the, you know, they're in, like, gambler terminology. They're very, um... people around the country like like there's a lot of Dallas fans so they generally have points thrown at them right yeah like giving two yeah to a six and eight team when you're the division leader like isn't that a weird line too well Philly has the ability to win out Philly crushed Dallas early in the year I know Murray sit down he's get out of here this dog is annoying sit all right so Dallas giving two After what I just saw, two things. After what I just saw of Philly. Yeah. And knowing that the Giants are going to lose at 1 o'clock, and Philly will have that chance if they win to win the division. Give me Philly. Jake: Oh, I'll take Philly. So I agree with you. From what I saw, they looked. Thanks for watching! Pretty good. Yeah, and we have a good Dallas could not stop Justin: I know that Michael Vick led off and I last time they played I don't think it wasn't even close that game They crushed them. So I'll take Philly as well. All right next game Out West is these are all Saturday by the way. Yes forgot to mention Well, yeah Saturday at 4 15 weird one. We've got a Thursday Thursday I'm sure Saturday then a one Sunday night, night one and. I and then a Monday night Monday night games are pretty good this Thursday yeah this one's terrible although I can't blame for picking used in the beginning of the season I mean this could have been a very good game so San Francisco's going to Seattle San Francisco just sort of locked things up Last week and they haven't locked up the two seed. They're still playing for that but like, you know, they've got everything sort of under control They're very good, but Seattle at home. I don't know I feel like Seattle is like fighting tooth and nail for that wild card spot. So at home They're gonna be rowdy and riled up. I'm gonna take Seattle. Yeah, actually I agree with you Jake: I think Seattle this is the time of year last year that Seattle kind of turned it on
02 Jake: And I could see them they were playing some good D Justin: They're playing good football right now. Jake: They can run the ball. They can stop the run. Justin: You've got to give Seattle quite a bit of credit, because they started out not very well, and they've turned it around with no quarterback. Like, Terrace Jackson, really? Jake: Also, remember that Seattle. Um... Justin: off they will win by 40. I do not think so. I think they'll beat Chicago Jake: but I think it'll be a back-and-forth match and I could see it come at all. Justin: There's no fourth. Like Chicago can't score. Like back and forth what does that mean? Defensively. Chicago can still play D and special teams. I don't think that just because Green Bay got stopped one week. Means that they are stoppable like that is a great frickin offense. I think they're stoppable They lost two linemen on that one game right? We'll see you know where peppers is gonna be wherever those rookies are sitting Yeah, he's gonna be watching on the ground is someone scoring a touchdown all right last game big one New Orleans is hosting Atlanta New Orleans looking like the best team in the NFC right now. Not a chance. Give me Green Bay. Even though I have New Orleans from the beginning of the season in the Super Bowl, I still think Green- How did you say that? They lose one game. They're not as- They're looking like the best team right now. Okey dokey. Give me New Orleans anyway. Favored by 6.5. Atlanta's crap on the road. Jake: I mean 11-3 team versus a 13-1. It's not like they're, you know- that far off. Anyway, I'll take Norrallanes as well. Alright, we agree then. Let's move on to our Justin: drone picks. Yes. I have not even put in scores or anything. I will put them in as we talk. Oh, alright. Where am I putting these? How did we do last week? We just put them...oh, last week? We did... Let's see, we both have Buffalo. We both had New England and we both had the Jets. So we did one for two. Yup, one of two. All righty, so first game, New England at Miami. New England is rolling on offense. They just stopped the Almighty T-Bow. uh in denver miami got a great game out of reg bush i don't think that'll happen against new england i think new england even though they gave up a shit ton of rushing yards in the first quarter they kind of shut everything down there afterwards um i like new england to win i like
00 Justin: them to get into the mid to upper 30s against miami so i'm gonna give it a 37 21 Jake: Ah, yes. I agree. I think Miami's been playing really good. I don't know if they can just sustain this. I think this is the time of year that people are like, I'm literally packing up in two weeks to go on vacation. Like, I'm not sure I can just keep going. Miami's got a lot to play for. I mean, sorry in one C, which is important, important for all those three teams. I mean, whether you're Pittsburgh, you're, you're, you're, you're Baltimore, you're New England, having having home field is huge, right? You. That's huge going to, a. So I think they're gonna play Lights Out, but I don't think they're gonna score a ton. I think they're gonna get up and it's gonna be one of those kind of get up quick and then just sort of sit on it. Justin: So I'll give it a 30, 30-17. the packs. Alright, we have the T-Bos going to the Bills. By the way, Denver should just change their name to the T-Bos. Because, I mean... But when they get rid of them next year... Have you watched any sports show this week that hasn't spent a good chunk of time on Tim T-Bo? Jake: Every time I turn on ESPN, they spider monkey all over Spiderman. Justin: They really do. They spider man all over T-Bos face. They do. Every single time. They should rename the network. right. They should change the Ocho to the Tebow. The Tebow. And just, they should just have a network for him because they just eat it up. They love it. They eat his shit up. Yeah. It's just, it's interesting because he... No, stop. Yeah. I don't want to talk about it. Let's go. Um, so Buffalo's on a skid. Tebow podcast? Tebow Kingdom? Tebow nation. Uh, Buffalo is really. Downward spiraling right now. I want to pick them to win this game to start this I was like I think they could know they can't Yeah, I have them winning why really? How do you know I just know I just have this feeling that you know as bad as? Buffalo is Denver offense is that bad and it's really all about the end of the game and just making sure that you can win at the end or score enough early so that you're ahead and just don't let... I think New England might have given the... you know, how do you do this? And in Buffalo it's going to be even harder I think. I'm predicting some bad weathers for Tebow to throw. This is crazy. They don't need to throw. They do. Buffalo's run D is shit All they're gonna do they want to they're just gonna run, land ball But if you don't have to really ever worry about the run you are about the pass you could stop it And here's the thing how is Buffalo gonna score? I don't know I have them winning 13-12 and that 12 is a touchdown field goal safety and a missed field goal with no time remaining
01 Justin: from 54 because you're not in fucking Denver and getting to a 59 yard field goal is not a comeback drive okay Only in Denver is that like a good thing. Hey set up our kicker for a 59 yard kick. It's great. Yeah, awesome Imagine if Sanchez like set up folk for 59 not the ball of the 40 drove 19 yards and set him up Jake: Yeah, that's great. No. Yeah, you did a great job kid. Yeah, I think the T-bows will win 1713 that makes it more important for the game century Game of the Milani? This is really, this is a big one. This is a huge, huge game and being the season, I wouldn't have thought it was going to be big. I would have thought either the Giants would not need it or the Jets wouldn't need it. Turns out we both need it pretty badly. We fucking both need it. Justin: Pretty bad. Actually, yeah we both need it. Jake: They actually need it more. They do. Factually correct. If they lose this game they've got no shot. Mm-mm. No. No, because Philly and Cowboys are playing each other. That's right. So if they lose this game and Cowboys win, they're done. They lose this game. Justin: Yes, if the Cowboys win, they're done. Jake: The Eagles win. Right. Eagles play. They're not done. Justin: I think they're done. Eagles play Redskins the next week. They are not done, though. Well, I don't think. They're not done unless the Cowboys win. That's when they're done. time. Jake: Sadly it would be nice to have the Cowboys. Well that's what we were hoping for last week was that the Giants would win on... Yeah, wanting the Giants to just win. So that this game meant literally nothing. No, that the Eagles game meant nothing. I would have liked the Giants to win last week because then the Eagles game would have meant nothing to the Eagles. They would have been out of it. Yeah. But they didn't. So they had a shot and now it's still a shot. Justin: Anyway, forget the scoreboard we're watching. We gotta beat the Giants. Jake: And... Justin: Mean I feel like I feel like the Giants aren't All that good I've said it all year that they're gonna start six and two and they're gonna end seven and nine and where are they right now? They're at seven and seven so two more losses in my ultimate prediction of the Giants season will have come true That would have been very good. That would be very impressive very but uh Jake: Well, they have the they have the jazz and then they have the Jets and they have the Cowboys Justin: So not too not so easy games So I watched the whole giant game. I watched them play last week to do a little advanced scouting. I've been to two giant games this year. I've been to a game this year. Sat on their bench. Um, you know, their defense is not very good. We should be able to drive down the field on them. throwing and running whenever we want. Like their defense, they have a strength and it's a player. Like if you say the Giants defensive line is good you're really saying they have Jason Pierre Paul, right, and a gimpy Justin Tuck and okay Chris Canty and that's it like their defensive line isn't even that good. They have crap linebackers They have crap secondary their only guy is Webster this Prince of Mook Amara. He's awful now. He's pretty bad
03 Justin: He's bad. He gets burnt every game. Yeah, I watch every giant game. He's bad right burnt deep So if we don't go deep on him, I'll be upset like right. We got a hit curly down the middle of the field deep Or whoever mukumar is on hit him deep because he'll fall for whatever move you throw on I he'll get a penalty or you'll catch a touchdown or something So I was just not not impressed like if you can be you know Just create some distance between you and the Giants and then their their offense will become one-dimensional you'll know that they're throwing and really They don't have a tight end. Valor's not playing. They're getting back to center this week, which is big. Not really, because he's not that good. Oh, okay. He's not better than anyone that they've thrown in there. It's not like us losing Nick Mangold. This guy's not that good. I think here's the thing. Jake: The concern I have with the Giants is that they are a fourth quarter comeback team. They've done it. I think out of like five of their wins, they came back in the fourth quarter and they were down like they can hang in there. So yes, UI is extremely good at that. If there is and if Nix isn't dropping balls, they can be in games, right? So to me, this is a game of if I'm gonna throw my keys to the castle out there, you just you're gonna have to hang in and play. And this is the biggest cliche ever on the planet. You got to play four quarters like we can't play just a little bit and then hope and I get up by 14 Because they can score and and Eli is they've got that they've got that. That down I've watched so many games that it can be like oh, we're down by two touchdowns I'm gonna whip one and he gets it and he can look at it like he bacon bacon score And again, it's not score at will but they can take those shots and they generally work and And my key to the castle is to do what they generally do on our side. I think we should take more shots. I don't understand why we're not whipping the ball down because it seems like it's three things happen. You get an interfere, you get a fast call, he catches it or you get or he drops it. It's like it's such a good thing to do. Outside, down the field, whip it and see what happens. Especially in this now this now new, you know, can't touch a guy anywhere down the field You just imagine, you know some big guy roaming that then he just gets touched It's like I'll give him either give him five or give him with the ball the ball spot So Mikey the castle is staying in for fourth quarter and you gotta take more of those shots You got to take more those shots get the grand game going and then wind them up and whip it give give hunter five guys on His side and then just line them up and whip it down the field Justin: I'll ask you what I asked you before many games that have two pretty good wide receivers. Who's covering who? Reeba's on nyx. Yep. I agree and Whoever's outside on the other side. Yeah, so if cruise lines up in the slot, which he does yeah
02 Justin: Wilson, I yeah, and I also think I also think if that's not working they'll switch it like cruise is a dangerous Yes, he's probably they're most dangerous because you got Nick's the reason why he's so dangerous is cuz teams aren't equipped like we are to Let somebody sit out on their own on Nick's you can't Not pay that much but we can afford to not pay all that much attention to Nick's right Although we just got crushed by a team whose receivers didn't do anything, right? That's sort of the good part is there's no lasha McCoy on this team. There's no mike vick running around It's more of a traditional stand there and be a a target. Eli's going nowhere and You know again no mccoy and no brent selek either. I mean selek's not the greatest head in the world, but he's very capable, right? Ballard's okay, but he's not playing right? So it's like backup city at tight end and I feel like for me the key to the castle is pressure, blitzing. I don't know why, but we haven't been... maybe it's just not working or there's something about this whole exotic jets defense that doesn't seem all that exotic to me these days. Not my talent. Maybe it's because I've seen it for a couple years and I've seen, I know where they're coming from or whatever, but if I can see that then... professional coaches who do this for a living who break down tape can see that. Right. So I'd like to see a lot more pressure. Eli can be hit. Eli can be gotten to. He will rush throws. Yes, he will. He will throw off his back foot. He'll throw him up for grabs. You got to get the pressure on him and get ahead. because they can't run, just get their running game out of the equation and then tee up. But they have one of the best... They can't run. They're the worst running team in the league. Jake: They are, but they also lost Bradshaw for like four or five games. Yeah, but that wasn't it. They just don't run. There's been games where he's like put up 140 yards. No. Factually incorrect. Justin: He's never put up 140 yards? No. No. I feel like there's been games where he's lit up. You don't even average 100 yards of game rushing. Total for everybody. So just get that out of the equation early because you know, they're gonna want to they're gonna want to. Come in And this is like a bravado Game, it's all about like, you know, they share the stadium. They share the city Date the same girls as whoever Rex said that right? So like this is a very big like macho bravado Where the shit you're not right? They're gonna this is a game you want to run on the other team. That's a that's like Macho thing like we can run on you. We will knock you will knock you over. We'll run over you And I feel like we have a better chance of running over them than they do us So what about injuries? So I know we have we have a couple guys McKnight has the elbow issue still and I think it's moved on to his shoulder They dislocated in the he was practicing DeVito was practicing as well with the knee. I think he'll play curly was had an illness. So
05 Justin: I believe he'll be playing. That's good. If Curly doesn't play, I don't know who... Forget third receiver, I don't know who punts. Right. Returns punts. Sanchez with the Jake: neck, he's fine. Yeah, that was just a stinger or whatever it is. You know we haven't Justin: mentioned, you know, there's a guy who's gonna want to have a really big game. He's gonna want to score a touchdown or two. Yeah. And shove it right in Coughlin's ear. The only problem with having him on the team now, Jake: it's not all that, it's just that everybody, all 80,000 people, all million people at home, or whatever, everybody in the stadium, everybody on the field, the guys selling hot dogs, everybody knows that the Jets want him to have a good game. And so, So... They know that and I think they're going to try to stop him from having that's great try and stop them and someone else will Score three. I agree Justin: I think Dustin Keller and homes will have great games and he meant he might not get a ball Well, there's one thing that I mean as we've seen we've seen Rex do this over time with their time Make him the captain the day he'll he'll be the captain Yep, and I guarantee you the first play of the game on offense for us is play action slant plaques go Guaranteed really just a nice easy six-yard catch get him the ball early cuz they They've been like not even looking at him the last couple weeks They gotta get him involved in this game cuz he'll he'll stay involved in this game if he gets involved I hope so. I hope so. I think when they do those those bombs I just want him to do they know homes get one better thing deep to him this whole year You'd think within the year of like tall the last couple years like that back shoulder throw and the guys you think of that do It really well is like Rogers to Nelson You always see him like streaking down the sideline and catching it on the back shoulder and like even Eli Eli throws that ball Really well the Knicks like that back shoulder throw to des Bryant from Romo like that should be a staple of the Jets offense. The back shoulder throw to Plax 20 yards down the field. How much Wildcat do we see? So we saw some. Same three to seven plays. Jake: I think depends. We get up a little bit, you see it more, we get down a little bit, you see it less. Justin: I think we'll see, you know, the one, the. ... Version of the wildcat that I particularly like is just the Sean Green by himself to X nap run it for six yards Right. I like that version of it The Giants that is that is their strength though is you know Potentially those big guys up front, you know talk if he's healthy She hasn't been is a good all-around defensive end stop the run stop the can rush the passer Pierre Paul's a nightmare and that's a big fucking dude And if he's lined up anywhere but in front of d brick, that's no fun Because if oc plays and i'm not sure he's going to
00 Justin: They move Pierre Paul all over the place. They get the three of those guys in there and they put Pierre Paul on the inside. They put Tuck on the inside. And if Pierre Paul's lined up over Matt Slossen, that's gonna be a problem. I mean, that is gonna be a problem. Jake: He's just too good. Well, it's gonna be a big thing with screams. I mean, I think the way to get the big rush away. They had it going not last game, but they had it going in like the previous two games It was a great screen game going, you know screen to screen the green and screen to Tomlinson What's your score? All right my score for the game. I think it's me close. I we're going yes We say it's going I'm The last game in the New Meadowlands Stadium for us this year and for foreseeable. That's a guarantee. It's a guarantee And so I think it's gonna be close. I think we win this game, but I think we win it 23-21. Justin: All right. I also think we win because I've never picked us to lose on this podcast. That is correct. Came close points. I think this will be close and we finish it at the end. 27-16. It doesn't seem so close. Well, I think it'll be close. Winning by 11. Yeah, I think it'll be close like 20-16 and then we'll score in the end. Like, you know. Four minutes left or something like that to go up by two and two scores and that'll be that What do you think the fan The ratio ratio will be I'm thinking it's gonna be somewhere between 60 40 and 70 30 I would go more 70 30 the tickets have gone Jake: skyrocket like if I want to do a nice Christmas I'd sell all three of them because they're skyrocketed up there they're like to to something my sections like to something double yeah so I don't know I think it's a weird game well we've talked about this you you're like well all these giant fans are gonna go but I'm like the giant fans are only gonna go because the Jeff fans won't go because it's Christmas Eve And I think for the same reason the jet fans aren't gonna go the giant fans won't go so I just don't feel like it's Plus they're giant. I don't know. I just don't think it's gonna be that bigger percentage for this game If it were any other game, I would say yes, but this game Justin: I think it will like that. There's there's a couple things like check games check games There are tickets available on ticket mask. Yeah, like you could go get all the giant games there are yes no they're not um and i feel as though that the that i thought that giant fans would jump on the tickets because they're not it's not a giant game like to get there right as opposed to jet game jet fans like oh it's just a jet game like i've been you know maybe i don't really care we're gonna carry there we're gonna be there hopefully everyone's friendly it's Our section is pretty good. Yeah, but I can see some ridiculousness coming up. Jake: The worst guys in our section are the guys behind us. Who are Jet fans? Justin: Hopefully there's no fights or anything like that. Jake: Alright, let's get to it.
