09 Jake: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Welcome to the Jekkinem. podcast as long as we're running New York Jets podcasts. Period. I'm Jake, joining me on this podcast, winning podcast Monday for the 131st time. Justin, Justin, how you doing buddy? I'm all right. I'm looking at uh the box score from the... came yesterday. What? It was a game yesterday? Yeah, if you were to read the news or watch the post game you'd actually think we lost. We didn't lose? I mean I was there at the game and I left when we won but I got home and I feel like we lost. I feel like we lost in watching everything that I've been watching after the game. It's apparent to me that we lost this game. Alright, well it's part of the agenda today. We're just gonna, it's Monday and we have a win, a Jets win. So let's get into it. Let's talk about the Jets win first, foremost. Have a good tailgate. I had a good tailgate. Beautiful day. It was a great day. I was wearing a short sleeve t-shirt during the whole tailgate. I actually wore a sweatshirt into the game and was hot. I can't believe I couldn't believe it was, November 27th. Like I don't know what we did to get this great weather Maybe it was living through last year's monstrosity Weather wise. Yeah, no to all Jets fans Who go to the game you have to be comparing last year's Literally being pissed on at least for last year or a great game so hard during that Minnesota game that it was hurting me to sit in the crowd it hurt that's right this was fantastic day good tailgate we had lots of good food my father joined us which was fun yeah that's right elder statesman Justin senior Justin senior as we like to call him not what his name is it was good time good game Had a good time at the game and it had some nervous edginess to it, which was you know It's it's oh it's it's more fun when you win those games than sitting at a 31 nothing game where you've won Really? Yeah, I don't find those really all that fun You're just kind of sitting there and then the crowd is out of it because the game's over I mean the crowd was really into this game From beginning to end there was a lot of There was a lot of like whining and crankiness in the crowd. Really? You included. Really? Oh you were whining. It was amazing.
00 Jake: What about you only in Tom Brady's dad? You were just, no, but you were really whiny and so were the guys behind us were particular. We complain a lot about the guys behind us. These weren't the same guys. These weren't the same guys but they were like particularly whiny and like how could you do this? How do da da da da da. Oh my god, shut up! I feel like that's a thing about being a fan of a.,,- Then when you win, you're like, yeah, it's awesome. But if you lose, you're like, see, fuck, I told you so. As opposed to you going into every game, like, we're going to fucking win this game because we're awesome and we're going to win every fucking game. And when they lose, you feel really bad. So you're like, wait, I really thought we were going to win. And no, we didn't win. I don't think I was winding to the couple plays that I was calling out. Outro You were whining. No. I don't. First of all, I don't whine. I scream the top of my lungs. You were whining. I don't whine. You were aggravating. I actually yell at you when you sit on your ass. That's not true. You were aggravated. Yes, that's not whining though. You were complaining about things that you have no control over. So it's like, I don't. Give me an example. Well, the whole sequence of Cromartie, Fumble, Cromartie getting burnt for touchdown. You were like. out of your mind and sensed about it. Oh, I'm out of my mind and sensed that the team that we're playing scores a touchdown on us off of two bad plays. It's like... It's whiny and complainy. Like, what's he do- Like second guessing almost, but there's nothing you can do about it. Well, it is second guessing because that's where we're there watching the game. Post game, we find out what happened, but at the time it seemed really fucking stupid to put Karmarti back there. to catch that thing. It seemed really fucking stupid that he kept backing up and backing up and backing up and both your dad, Justin Senior and I were like, why the fuck is he backing all the way up? I was the only one that saw the coach tell him I'm gonna back up. Then he ran 20, well then it's a bad coaching decision because then he had to run 25 yards up, he calls for fair catch and then fumbles it. He knew he fumbled it, he never caught it. Okay, he muffed it. He muffed the fair catch because he had to run 25 yards up to muff it. Bad coaching. Yeah, so that's what you complain about. Then he got unlucky on the next play. Yes, and in retrospect again I had fan vision there and I could see the play over watching it. We just re-watched the highlights just now. And you know, that was just a lucky play. Brad Smith made a great move off a lucky bounce. Crow got his hand on it, whatever. Let's talk about the game. Let's talk about the full-on game. I actually think the fans were not into this game. I feel like the fans came in the stadium this time and thought they were just gonna win. I thought they were just gonna win. I thought the Jets were just gonna win, like not win like... So did I, if you listened to the last pod. We were both pretty... off. off on the score, I guess we did not in retrospect factor in the desperate nature of both teams.
06 Jake: We probably should have factored in the fact that both teams were basically fighting for their lives at five and five and there's a There's a mentality about that, that you're very, it's like your last breath, like you're fighting for it. Team's not going to roll over and play dead just because they have a couple injuries. They're going to come in and give you their best shot, but they already beat them. So it's very hard to beat a team twice in one year. Patriots beat us pretty well. I guess. Well, they did that this year, but it's hard to do that. It's not easy to beat a team twice in the same year, particularly I think there's a rival. Well, that's the only time you'd really do it unless the playoffs. and with the with the records being what they were, this was a you lose, you're out. Right. You win, you still have a fighter's chance. You win, you're just not not out. Right. Right. So there's a real last legs. desperate nature to the game that where there was kicking and fighting and craw and clawing and it just so happened that we Basically had the ball. I know they had the ball last but they had we had the ball last with enough time to score No, we had the ball last and could score Oh, I feel like if they had a couple more minutes and didn't have to it plenty of time Yeah, well they had to go for it from like the 25 where I feel like they sort of This will segue into shot themselves in the foot By dropping a couple passes that where I mean they might have had enough time But if they had not one minute, but two minutes, they probably would have scored That's just the way I felt feel about how that was going. Yeah, I think we're really stopping them Was the fact of where they were on the field where we gave them a minute and not two minutes two minutes three timeouts Pretty sure they could keep throwing those ten yard plays instead of having to try and score from the 30, right? And really Stevie Johnson screwed that up because he makes that catch that he drops at the end of the game And they have the ball at the 15 right and then it's like all right now. They're at the 15. So it's core touchdown It's not easy to do they had score. You know I needed a touchdown, which was the key which was the key otherwise that Yeah, so let's talk about uh So we just rewatch the cap the big news the recap the big news of this of which is kind of sad because I feel Like there's two plays that are overshadowed because of Stevie Johnson's idiotness. So let's go back to, let's talk about who Stevie Johnson is. Stevie Johnson's the guy who wore the Why So Serious T-shirt. Yes. Stevie Johnson- I believe we named a podcast after him one time. I think we did. I think we really did. Stevie Johnson's the guy who blamed God for dropping the ball. It was God's fault. Stevie Johnson's the guy who dropped that big... easy to catch ball against the Steelers.
01 Jake: Here's the history of this. And Stevie Johnson is a good vibe receiver. He's a pretty good vibe receiver. I mean, he's pretty good. He's also the guy who we're going to probably not agree on this, but this was one of Darryl Reeves's, or what the guy called him, Darryl. Darryl. Darryl. Darryl's worst outing as, you know. We've seen in a while. I mean other than him getting beat deep by like raw by Moss when he was hurt I haven't seen a guy kind of just been able to catch consistent balls with him and Be able to score on him score on a mama one-on-one You know, I'm not I'm not sure what it is I've seen the recaps have seen the replays You know, it just didn't look like he was on his game. It didn't look like... Sometimes, Rebus has that way of like putting his hand in and right before the guy catches it, just like, boop! And knocking it out. Is that the sound of it? He goes, boop! And he knocks it out. That's a secret! I feel like he just couldn't do it. Like, he just didn't... He was off, his timing was off a little bit. And nothing was working because, while, you know, I know you were saying that Steve Johnson didn't have a good game. No, no, no, no. Everywhere in the world says he has a good game. You just put words in my mouth. No. You put words in my mouth. It's the worst thing that's been in your mouth. You just put words in my mouth. Well, I do not disagree. This was one of Dorell Revis' worst games as a jet. As Dorell Revis. Like, you can go back to his rookie year and I recall him getting absolutely killed the first time that they played the Pats. Um, by by Moss for like 160 something yards, but he was a rookie then and whatever he's he's still the best in the league and What I was saying we were on our ride home was you said Stevie Johnson had a great game Yeah, and I said, I don't think he had a great game. I think he had a Relatively great game, right? He had a good game by receiving standards He had eight catches for 75 yards. That's less than 10 yards of catch and a touchdown. That's not a great game That's a good game. That's a good game, but He also dropped a pass That was a potential Game changer, right? He too maybe too. Maybe yeah dropped a potential touchdown and dropped another potential touchdown probably would have been tackled around the 10 or 15 But still there's no way he's going all the way in like you can't say he had a great game when he makes those bad plays at the end of the game and Caused his team 15 yards on a stupid penalty and made them kick off from the 20 which resulted in a bad kickoff We recover and gives us a touchdown at the end of the first half So you can't say Stevie Johnson had a great game He had a relatively good game against the best corner in the league. He had, he got the better of him, but in all reality he didn't have a great game, which is what you were saying, and I disagreed with you and I still disagree with you. Because if he had a great game he would have made that catch in the fourth quarter, and he would have scored a touchdown on the volley drop, and he wouldn't have caused his team
00 Jake: 15 yards, which in turn caused him 7 points. That would have been a great game. But he did all those things that I said. So he had a good game. Yeah, he had a good game. And a relatively good game against Dorellreivus, because when you have Dorellreivus manned up on you, you don't expect to catch the ball eight times. Overall, I think the pro- you know- A lot of targets for him. Well, Elsa, 250 yards passing. Yeah, well they couldn't run, so they had to get the ball. They had to get it somewhere. But they were successful, that's the problem. And your passing, average pass play of six yards, you're being successful. Yeah, Fitz had a good- It's very tongue-in-cheek in the postgame conference. If you watched it, we heard it in the car, but then I watched Rex Ryan's postgame movie news conference. He sort of alluded to the fact that, and I don't know why this is so, that it was in the game plan to let them do some of the things that they were able to do. which is really odd. I didn't understand it but if you if you listen if you go back and watch he alluded to the fact that they were giving up that underneath throw. They were giving up that five to ten yard catch. He said something like he said like sometimes you got to give up in in that kind of situation you have to give up the middle. No, no, no that was later on where it was like, you know where they had Steve Johnson drop that pass like what and you were Letting him drive down the field and he said, oh, well, we're giving up the middle of the field I don't know why they had three timeouts. There's no reason to give up anything But what he did say was, you know, they asked him point blank like Reavis didn't have a good game this guy date catches Well, he's like that was in he alluded to the fact that was like in the game plan to let him catch it In front of the sticks and make a tackle. I guess they were worried like the last time he got beat deep The 50-yard play down the field Maybe they just didn't want to give that up and they wanted him to be out there on his own There was no help for him. I mean How does a good receiver there's I mean he's a tough matchup, especially when you see him twice a year He's I'll say turning around to the Jets defense side of this. I think there's Well, I don't like the defense that gives up 21 points and you can't 24, 24 points, sorry, I get the kick to kill goal. I don't like defense that does that, I'm thinking three touchdowns. I will say, if you look at two of them, one, the bills are given a very short field. Yeah, Sanchez Sanchez interception which is like his thing now third and third and nine from his own ten Yeah, he's gonna throw a second. They had a couple of drives One of them that started They had the ball where did it start at the Jets 20 and took them three plays and they scored the touchdown so it took them a minute you know that's in the second quarter right that is that that's right and then that again the one the one bomb to Brad Smith catches it I mean both of
02 Jake: their both of their You know they scored on a couple of turnovers basically we had two turnovers they scored touchdowns on both of them Yep, so we're gonna hurt you. Let's turn around and talk about Sanchez So a tale of two halves again He sort of plays really poorly in the first one or not on target this much Although he comes out of the game and I think it's I think for jazz fans. It's like I wish I could split this box score. This is like, this is the same thing I was saying about T-Bo the other day. I think some announcer said it. Some broadcaster. You said it or someone else said it. Someone else said it but maybe I repeated it. It sounded like I was so smart when I said it. Which is, if you're a Sanchez hater, he gave you enough evidence to say he sucks. Right? Oh, he came out, he was missing twice, he threw another inception, rah rah rah rah, he's no good. Bye. If you're a Sanchez loyalist, you can say, listen, the guy comes out, he drives the last minute, throws four touchdowns, sure he has an interception, but you have four touchdowns for the game, had his most productive touchdown scoring ever, and you know, so what, you throw an interception now and again, everybody does. Like, I think you could show it either way. I don't know where I feel like on Sanchez now. out. Is he the guy is it you know I think there's a lot of hate and we'll talk about the hate sort of coming off Twitter On Schottenheimer the guys behind us were clearly on the fire Schottenheimer Hanging I think we were on that bandwidth. He was on that bandwagon thoughts on Sanchez's performance I Thought he played fine, you know you go into half your tide 1414 Not much more you can ask for, you know, your home, your tie game, your in the game. Clearly, you know, you couldt have some more efficiency. It didn't seem like he was always really on the same page with his receivers. But all in all, in half, you go in, you're tied. and then He played a great second half. I mean he really did he came out in the second half played really well Drove down the field for for a touchdown. We got the lead where we're up 2114 and I feel like we really had control over Over the game at that point, I mean we had a nice long drive 80-yard drive for a touchdown eight plays go right down the field And then, you know, we have the situation where our defense comes on, we stop them, and we have the muff-punch situation, which unfortunately changes the game. And that's, you know, that's not on the quarterback, that's on something else. The defense plays good, they go out, they get three and out, or whatever it was, they punt. And all of a sudden, you know, we... We're tied again and now the pressure's on and it's a different game.
00 Jake: When it comes down to it, we get the ball back. There's about five minutes left on the clock. We're losing by three and when we're done with the ball, we're winning by four. That's all I really care about. That's all I really care about. Here's some fan perspective. I know you're a broadcaster so you're above all this. But you're some fan perspective. I just want to tell you something. I'm not above it. Fan perspective. There's some things I know about Sanchez, which I wish somehow our coaching staff would know. Sanchez is good under pressure. Sanchez is much better in the second half of games than he is in the first half of games. Is almost, I will get so many games that he does that. Sanchez is good when he's moving around in the pocket. And Sanchez is good off of play action. These are good things that we know. Oh, and if Sanchez had a good running game, obviously he sets up the play action, but he's a good running game, he does much better. He was not sacked this game, which is huge. Not that they had much of a rush. They lost Merriment this season. I don't know if they had a rush with Merriment there. Another lineman that they lost that was a good player. I can't remember his name. You know, they protect him well. There was a good running game. You know, there were a couple throws that, you know, it seems to me that they, that the receiver makes a good, makes the quarterback look good. But I feel like that's why we brought in a receiver like Faxico Burras is because he's the guy that he made Eli look good. There were plays when their first season and they went to Super Bowl. that he would get the ball that no one else would possibly be able to get. Just no one physically get that ball. They play down the middle to Keller, that Keller had to jump as high as Keller's ever jumped in his life to pull down that ball. But, you know, you're going to live or die by Sanchez. And that's sort of the thing. He's going to drive you to success or drive you to drink. Well, it's a little crazy because it's only his third year, right? It's only his third year. And, you know, we... Sorry, just talk about the... So you watched the Jets post game on SNY. I did, and I recorded it. And if you watched these knuckleheads on SNY, if you watched Adam Shine, Ray Lucas... Klekko and the guy who hosts it whose name I have no idea what his name is you would really have thought that they lost and the season was over right and and that they played the worst game that they've ever played Sanchez is terrible and when's he ever gonna step up and the defense was awful and everyone sucks and Rex Ryan's delusional and Sanchez couldn't be any worse. I mean really, this is what these guys are saying. They couch it by saying, well when is the win? But then they go right into more negative. Like, Sanchez under 50% completion. That's true. True statement. Great. Terrible, not on the same page. This, that, the other. See you next time.
15 Jake: even bring up the fact that you threw four Indeed, he had to make an insane catch. That throw was thrown where it had to be. Because he was sandwiched. In front and behind. Through it where the 6'6 receiver can catch it. Right, that's his job, right? That's why he's 6'6", that's why we signed him. And then rolls out and makes the play on the touchdown to San Antonio Holmes. Win! Touchdown victory! We put up 28 points and guess what, Sanchez threw all of them. He ignored them all, right? Nobody ran it in. He threw all Farage. And to come out and the negative and not have any perspective. this is the guy's third year in the league. And he was a starter at USC for all of one season. You know what QB rating was a 77. Okay, you know what it was in year 4? 74 you know what it was in year 5? 86. I mean this guy didn't even get to where he is now which is you know now this year his best year is 95. He had another year in the 90s but everything else has been below that. I mean this guy threw you know 20 picks in his fourth year. Perspective fellas, you're gonna have to deal with this. You picked him in the first round, you're gonna ride him out, you got him for the first five under contract, you're gonna see where you are after year five and that's that. Cause that's when a quarterback comes to life. Year five, year six, it's everywhere. You can look at it every single, even Rogers who sat for three full years wasn't Aaron Rogers till last year. I mean how many years has he been in the league? I feel like I have to look this shit up because these guys are just killing me, I'm watching it and you look at it, Roger sat his three years he sat. The first year as a starter, he came out and he was pretty good, he had a pretty good year actually, his first year as a starter but he took the first three off. He also took over a very good team. It took him to year 4 until they even said,
02 Jake: okay, we're going to finally let Brett Favre go. Because Brett Favre, they could have let go any of those years. Because he was retired and unretired. Retired, unretired. Retired, unretired. You know, you can look at all these quarterbacks. You know, Ralthus Berger won the Super Bowl in the second year. Fine, but he wasn't any good. They won because of his the defense Pittsburgh defense shit We should have beaten him that year in the playoffs. We missed two field goals We played a herm ball and decided to play for field goals instead of touchdowns But these guys, you know, I'm even looking at you know, Tom Brady his his rating was in the 80s until his... one, two, three... his fourth year as a starter. That's when he finally jumped up to... into the 90s. He was in the 80s before that. I feel like there's no perspective, and the kid has such a short leash. It's not fair. It's not fair, and it's silly, and I'm defending my guy right now. Alright! Cause if you go watch it, you'll see, I know you didn't watch it. I recorded it. I didn't watch it. Trust me, you'll feel like shit. You'll be like, wow, I just, what the fuck guys? I didn't even win. I mean, and for Ray Lucas to stand there and talk about what a quarterback has to do in the NFL, I watched Ray Lucas play quarterback in the NFL. Okay. He played like T-Bo. He was watching, watching Ray Lucas was like watching Tim Tebow play quarterback. Your best chance was running the ball. You got Curtis Martin running the ball. You're running the option. You're running this, you're running that. When he threw the ball, it was, oh god, please, please. And it was a four yard completion. I watched it. Okay? Go back to the year 2000 or 99 or 2000. Listen. Okay, hold on. I'm not gonna you know to attack regal was an it Ray Lewis right Lucas on his his opinion I Agree we are in it But we are in a media centric fast-paced everything is one week versus the next The greatest team on the the greatest slice of bread team is probably the team who were they five weeks ago? Who's the greatest team that was like just great day? No, and the other one in the AMC. It was the bills bills beat the Patriots They were a four-in-one or whatever they were everybody thought they were the slice of the thing Who was the other hot team up there green bag, San Diego Chargers? I'm talking AFC green Well, even the Lions look at the line there the fuck Look at the lines are five and one or five and or whatever. That's the good good example the Lions They have the number one overall pick from that draft Matt Stafford right and people love to put him on a pedestal like this guy's great young quarterback. He's awesome I don't even know how many games he's played as a pro Probably at this point a full season's worth if not a little more maybe if he was hurt first couple years But he missed the game. Does he catch as much shit for the loss that Detroit had? He threw three picks in that game. He doesn't catch anything. And then- I think you- I will say you're saying this as a jet fan looking at the Lion- Lion Nation.
03 Jake: You go look at lionnation.com or whatever or Lion Kingdom. I'm sure they're all like, Fucking guy! I can't believe this guy! Like why is he just throwing- Why is Calvin Johnson not getting the ball? Why do you throw it to him? You win. The guys don't even get the ball. Last two games, Calvin Johnson barely has one touchdown. What the fuck? These are the guys that he should be compared to. Matt Stafford, Josh Freeman, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Sam Bradford, these are the guys he should be compared to. people trying to compare him to Tom Brady and Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers and and Manning Manning times two and Rolfos burger. It's not fair to compare him to guys who've been anywhere between six and twelve years It's not fair. You should compare him to his his Level and like and if you look at what he's done versus all those other guys He's been as accomplished if not more. Accomplished yes. Numbers no. The numbers... Numbers I don't care. I have one number that I care about. I haven't seen these past two years we saw the Jets in the AFC Championship game. Twice. In the last two years. And before that it was all pain and suffering and heartache. Barely getting the playoffs. Barely making the playoffs. Eeking into the playoffs losing in the first we've been making in the last couple years, but not last year I don't feel like we Mean we have a game we still can't win our own fucking division. Yeah, but still you make the playoffs They losing the first round this kid goes on the road and wins football games in the playoffs. It's ridiculous I agree. How how how we get bashed. I'm not saying he's the best. I'm just saying judge him fairly So a fair judgment is a fair judgment is judging him against his his Counterparts and you know what he's he's right there with them Agree I agree I think there's others but I think the thing is that you're not saying he wins two more games and he becomes the greatest thing Justin: No, no, no, they know watch. Nope Jake: No, because if they win, they win despite him. I'll give you an example. Like even yesterday, they made it seem like they won despite Marx's interest. Even though they do for the touchdown. Even I'll give you an example. Even though every point they scored was thrown by him, they won despite him. Even though, yeah. Because he played awful. Rivas has given up yards and based on- Oh, he had his worst game ever. Well, he did. Not ever that's not very that's a that's a crazy statement to me He had a very he had a very average Average cool is not an average guy and I am I that's okay. Let's talk about some guys do let's pick your name of the game My night and my play your night in your play. Give me your play plays easier My play is the third down catch by Burris Okay, cuz, that was the play that was it that was like that was the difference between Trying a 52 or 53 yard field goal to tie the game and having the opportunity to win the game
06 Jake: Right and and also even if they don't score a touchdown there in the game Having the opportunity to kick a 40 yard field goal instead of a crazy 50 something yard field goal I just didn't feel good about like that I feel it wasn't going in so That was the play of the game. He made a hell of a catch And my night is is going to a I mean, I know you know, I was doing six six yards a carry. I mean I I know there was a drive in the third or fourth quarter there. after the long scoring drive the next drive they came out and threw the ball three times and it was like what the fuck are you doing yeah like why are you doing that we are running the ball like nobody's business and you're out here just chucking it there's no reason for that but the reason why we were able to run over them because the O-line had a great game no sacks I don't even remember him being pressured. And when he gets the time and you you can run the ball like that, you put up 28 points. And 28 points? That's above average. It's good enough to win. Every game they should win with 28 points. 28 points. You should win every point. That's above average. That's a... I mean, I can out can look and see like what's the points per game. I... you know... 28 is if you score 28 a game you're and you got the fourth or fifth best offense in the league Let's talk about Like my game my play the game was the last touchdown That was just it was sweet from so many going ahead the wind the going ahead with the score It was just a great movie. He pulled out You kind of saw I saw an end angle this time We'll be right back. or when I was just rewatching it and you can see that Keller kind of popped up as a as available but then someone moved right in front of him. It's just it's just it's nice to see that he can do that because that takes a talent. That's what they love about Roger is that he makes makes moves makes plays out of the pocket because that means when he's getting pressured he can go do something. He said he's the pocket collapsed just moved out he actually motioned the guy in
05 Jake: Great job, great catch, just, I love that. Back against his old team again, didn't get sacked in the first game, gonna come out. We sacked Fitzpatrick three times. That's not a ton. That's not like dominating. I felt like he had all day, but we actually sacked him a couple times. Maybe they were covered sacks, but Maven got to him. Maven's got some speed. He's got his one thing. And I'm looking forward to him being in those positions where he can go do something. I'm looking forward to him beating up on Rex Grossman this coming week. So I'm going to give him a night because I just feel like welcome to... It's nice to have a guy who can score two sacks in a game. Like that, I just feel like we don't have those guys anymore. I mean, pace, I don't know. It just doesn't seem to be. So then by the night is welcome back to Relevance on the team someone who has not been really doing much in terms of actually touchdowns There's boy Dustin Keller and he not only did he have two really good catches two touchdowns But I love the movement on the touchdown where he you know Catch the ball and then gets that yak in the end zone and then the other jump for jump for the ball Pull it down. He's He's clutch. Don't you feel like he should have five catches every game? I feel like when he doesn't have a catch, and there's no statistical thing for this, but I feel like he's one of those, he's an indicator. It's probably an indicator of running like you make it over 75 yards or whatever. They used to say something like Curtis Martin. Like if you ran over 100 yards, the chances of Jess winning was huge. So I feel like he should be targeted more like I know there's a lot of weapons out there There are a lot of weapons, but I feel like he, I mean, he is our leading receiver, right? He leads the team in receptions and yards. Well, that's good. It's good. I feel like he should be catching anywhere between four and six five Catches per game and about 60 to 80 yards and you should be a big-time red zone target particularly that Plax has emerged as legit, and is that big time Red Zone target? That should move some attention over. How that guy gets as wide open as he was. I have no idea how he got open. Well that was a good play. credit where credits do right that was a really nice play design on that Keller Todg play action as open as you can ever be right well I guess shoddy sucks a dick I mean right like like there's no rationality fans are not rational by the way speaking of being rational and and a fan did I yell at somebody no no no Um, this is just a random thought and it's sort of just the left turn randomness I was watching that baltimore san francisco game over the thanksgiving the thursday night game. Yes And I was close to it and the ravens were wearing all black. Yes, and I feel like that is just a
04 Jake: mentality that is so cool and of domination and ferociousness that I feel like if the I feel like if the Jets were to have like a third uniform, maybe they just wear it at night games like home night games jet black just all black black top black bottom green piping white letters or stuff they should do that because there is, there is a legit mental factor to wearing all black. It is a proven thing in sports where you you get an edge, you're like, you get a mental edge and you can even see it in that Baltimore, the where the Niners were just completely run over. Their offense had no chance because it was like they were scared of Baltimore. Like Baltimore is going to kill them literallyh literally. Nine picks. The Niners are a good team and they got demolished. Yeah, so we do we don't have an all-but-we have it for sale I've never seen him wear it No, I know it's stupid and irrational as a fan, but I really feel like you're a little bit up on the Baltimore Ravens dick I mean first it was with the chant then it was the song then it was like the first down Well, actually I hate the fact that we play that stupid song So it's not it's a white stripes. It's not a Baltimore song. It's a NFL Yeah, but Baltimore actually responds to it the Jets fans don't Like, we don't care. It's stupid. It just plays. They pump in crowd noise into it. No, it's because the song has it in it. Oh, well then as soon as they turn... Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, And then now we do the first down flyover. That's cool. Yeah. It's cool. I like that. But really, jet black. I like it. And I think calling it the jet black jerseys. There's a mentality to it. I took social psychology of sports when I was in college. And there was actually a whole chapter in the syllabus about. um team colors and uniforms and how black all black is menacing and ferocious and creates an atmosphere of terror. It's an atmosphere of terror. I just made that one. Wow. But really like you could you could really see it. I feel like they should try it. There's no there'd be no hurt in it. No that wouldn't but that is a good title for this
05 Jake: Alright well that's wraps up we're gonna be back on Thursday to break down Well, I guess we have a matchup tonight who you wouldn't for tonight anybody buddy lie. I don't even care I'm rooting for the Giants. I'm just rooting for the Giants. I already beat you. I'm talking about fans. We've already played. We're going to head this week. We won. You're backing beep beep beep. I already backed up to the playoffs. What are people losing? I'm in the playoffs. That's all I cared about. And I have 4 points on you, you have Jacob's going and I have Eli. I'm leading you by 3 or 4 points and I have Brandon Jacobs and you have Eli Manning. I'm pretty sure you're going to win it. I will be very happy if I do because then I would make this. Pretty sure you're going to win. And then you can meet up in the playoffs. If we meet in the playoffs, it'd probably be in the championship game so that would work. I'm going to, I didn't have to beep beep into the playoffs. I actually won my way in the playoffs. Five wins in a row. Hopefully I can win again tonight. All right, but we will be back on Thursday. So we got that match up tonight. We'll be back on Thursday to break down all the games. Thursday afternoon, so we'll work our next podcast. We'll break down all the games, we'll check Kingdom Pick'em, talk about our Stutter Dud, they were both duds this week, when we pick them we'll pick some better ones next week. We'll talk about Throne Picks and we'll then talk about the game of the century which will be the Jets versus the Redskins and we will give you your rooting sheet for the week, who you should root for and against in the AFC for the Jets to make the playoffs. Until then and as always... For Justin and myself, let's go Jets. you
