09 Jake: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away! Get away! Get away! Get away! Justin: Welcome to the Jekyll and the... podcast the longest running near jet podcast on the interweb why are you laughing I'm laughing because I did a big movement like damn I'm here like jinx in the his house and you went you're like doing some sort of spasmic thing over there that was not what I was doing it's the Friday edition of the JK Kingdom podcast the end of the week live from live and recorded on from Times Square and We're about to drop the bomb on you listeners. Let's drop it our agenda today. We're talking about some Jets shit We're gonna make some pics talking about the AFC East games. Maybe make some Talk about the hooter route for and then we will Talk about the game of the millennium the Jets versus the Kansas City Chiefs but let's get into Into last night's game you are getting to last night's game. Why not? It's a Friday edition you and I you can broke your rule for like 17th time this week I had no choice. No, no, no, no, no, no first. You know, I had no choice last night Cause last night, TiVo and RCN decided to not play nice together and my cable just wasn't working. So I had no choice. I had to watch the game and I had to just go over to your house. Yes. There's no choice. You did come over to my house. Now why did I have to go to your house? Why did I have to watch this game? Oh, well because we both made it into the fantasy football playoffs and you and I both had, we're not actually playing each other. Right. Which would be... On the opposite sides of the brand. It's too bad because you're actually the worst in the worst of things. We can't play each other until the finals so I hope we play each other again. You did beep beep beep. your way into the... I did back my way in. You're the only person with a losing record in the playoffs. I backed in. You lost the last four games to get into the playoffs. Four straight. Nothing like it. And you're the sixth seed out of six. That's right. All I wanted to do is get in. Get in? And hey, the Packers were the sixth seed last year. That's true, but they didn't have... So anyway, you had Ben Robertsver going. I did. I had Mike Wallace going. You did. And we watched that. I was very sad at halftime. Oh, man. Let me tell you something. I Hate the Steelers. No, I fucking hate we both hate the Steelers I hate the Steelers Steelers have knocked us out of the playoffs two of the last Six or seven years. Yeah, um, I hate the Steelers, but I gotta say
04 Justin: After watching Big Ben, I'm endeared to him. I'm calling your Big Ben. Play last night. I have a newfound respect and I Don't want to use the word adoration, but I I think I'm a Big Ben fan He like got me last night. That was really impressive See if he wasn't your fancy player whether you would have given a shit because you know you can't really rooting for him regardless, but It's always fun to root for a player on a team, but also root against that team. Like I want Cleveland to win. But we were hoping for the Mike Wallace Ben Roethlisberger show. We kind of got it actually. If not for a drop of the knee, I would have been... That's true, they were going to touchdown scored there. But what he did last night was extremely impressive. You have to say... when a quarterback, the leader, comes out with like half a foot and and lips around the field, everyone else picks up their game a little bit. That was noticeable in the game, I will say, that the Steelers, when Charlie Bash comes out and throws his like one thing and then couldn't run, just looked like out of sorts. they went two and out I think or three and out twice right maybe once then he goes to halftime I think they went twice then only the halftime and big Ben shows up like everybody's like oh my god he's never coming back there he's on the field boy that offense just they I mean they ran harder they block I mean they didn't even touch big Ben he stood he literally could not move he was a pole stuck into the grass and they couldn't get to him yeah I didn't understand the Browns game plan at that point like why wouldn't you drop a bomb on him? Drop a bomb on him? Blitz a couple guys throw eight in the box for the rest of the game like there's no reason not to put him under severe pressure. Well they they should have done it to start but then Curly then got into a throwing mood and he was just leaning on the field. Yeah but he was there rushing for and the offensive line down a starting center. is just had no problem blocking for him. If he would have had to move to the left or the right one foot or three feet one way or the other, it would have been in big trouble. Anyway good a good game. I will say it was fun to watch. Yes it was um and you know again you got your 20 points and I got about 10. Yeah I got some points out of it. And I was playing with a playing up against a guy who has Hillis who's got 2.6 so I'm kind of I'm happy that Hillis didn't leave get that like goal line that goal line touching had a goal line carry yeah he worked out for him he didn't even get a catch-up ball so that's good there's your fantasy update yeah there's your fantasy update from last night at least all right well let's just let's get right to our picks I mean I get to the pick what do you want to what's the news what's the news of the week well our special team shenanigans So it looks like Jimbo is going to be back there for the rest of the year returning puns.
00 Justin: So the side story to that is that Rex Ryan promised his wife, Jim Leonard's wife, that he would no longer be doing this, I guess earlier in the season. You know what? Too bad. And yeah, so that's the only guy that you know he's going to catch it. Now if he doesn't catch it, I don't know what to say. Just let it go. Yeah, you don't have to that's the thing like fine making down this but I rather down this then it's just ridiculous This this issue that has arisen with just catching punts, right? It's absurd it gets into their head too. It's like oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh, I did it again It's literally absurd little oops. I did it again. Yeah. All right. It's interesting I wonder is is McKnight gonna be playing this game? Do we know uh he's questionable so who I wonder will be returning kicks You know what would it be weird to say who cares just let it go out of the end zone every time start yeah That's just stupid why cuz we're better than that But the team that we're playing isn't better than that all right Let's get to the Jets when we get to the Jets well isn't this a Jets podcast it is last time I checked yeah Let's talk about the big story. I guess is really just that Enough loving on his first name. What's his last name or? Tom Tom war the offensive Consultant that the Jets hired in the offseason to come in and help with the offense because last year the Jets Were one of the worst in the red zone and now one of the best yeah last year We weren't scoring very many points now. We score Quite a few points. Yeah, I was looking at this. Let me just pull this up because I want to get it, right? You want to go next level on I want to go Jet Kingdom next level on you guys. I like it. So I'm just gonna look at offense by points per game It's probably really simple. Go ahead and take a guess. This is a fun game. Yes, who's who's the the best scoring offense. Uh, best scoring team. I think this goes by team. So like, by teams and defense. Oh, it's got to be Packers. Got to be the Packers. Then Saints. Then the Saints. Very good. Yeah. Then, um. Chargers. No, okay, then Give you one more guess then I'm gonna go down the Patriots Pat the Pats are okay. All right for Okay, I'm going I'm not bad this uh Cowboys Nope Lions the Lions are fourth Wow, I'm good at this not bad five I don't think I don't think you're gonna get the rest of these. Okay fine. Who's five? Oh, you might get five I'll get go one more uh 49ers no it's the texans oh okay yeah the point here is that that's the top five the texans six is a little surprising you got the ravens that is surprising then you got the bears and then what you get the new york jets at eight so and i was just i was really surprised i was
02 Justin: just looking at this the other day just to see. Where did the Jets stack up in terms of scoring? Because really, there's only one stat to me that matters, points. Because that's how you win? It's one other stat. Well, you know, you could... It's the one that the Packers have all those that we don't have. Wins? Yeah, that's the stat. Oh yeah, but you score, you win, right? I mean, here's the thing. You can be the giant to score shit and still lose. Well, the Jets score 24.2 points per game. Right. and averaged 310 yards. What was last year? Oh, I don't know if I could pull that up. I probably could. Hold on. So 24 points and 310 yards per game. Last year, 22.9 points and 351 yards per game. So it's worse. worse yards but better points. That's all in the rushing too. Yeah that's all in the rushing. So but basically you know you look at it you're like all right the Jets 24.2 points per game so more than one point a game more. 310 yards would you rather be the Jets at 24 points per game in 310 yards? Or would you rather be the eagles at 22 points a game, but 412 yards? A hundred more yards a game but less points. Right. I think I'd rather have the points. Right. Well, that's situational too. That has to do with turnovers. Sure, where you're getting balls, things of that nature. And red zone efficiency. has a lot to do with that as well. Because when you get to the red zone, you score. You put the points in the way. So what you're saying is, so that comes back to the story about Tom Moore. We've heard a few ins and outs of him being around the practice area. In fact, I think it was two weeks ago that they called him in and said, hey, we need to get back here. Good. So I think there's two things going on here. I don't think they're connected. One is the bringing back of the wildcat, which we've heard from reports is all about Rex. Rex wants the wildcat, he thinks it's good, he wants to use it. I don't necessarily disagree with Rex. I don't disagree if it works. Oh, that's flip-flopping. No. I don't disagree at all. No. I'm a fan. If it works, I love it. If it doesn't work, fuck it. Like, I'm a fan. I'm irrational. Why don't you be more like a broadcaster like me? No, I'm an irrational. Have you seen me at games? I have. You're completely rational. I yell at Tom Brady's dad. You yell at a child in front of you to stand up on defense. Oh, I did. I did. These little punk kids, they weren't like, sick. So, like, my daughter, I don't yell at her to stand up during D. No, no, I don't. I was gonna make a joke, but that wouldn't be funny. because some people might not get it. But there were these teenagers, like punk teenagers with the big earrings and like the like hair who came into the stadium late. They sat in their seats for three and a half quarters and then they left. They never got up once. They never clapped their hands. They never cheered or jeered or anything for either team. At that point at $125 a ticket so 365 or $75, let's call it 400 for the parking and even
04 Justin: if they took the train. $400 for those kids just to sit in those seats. Give them a hall pass or something to a movie. Go see a movie for 20 bucks. It was ridiculous. So yes, I was screaming at those kids. I generally as you know, because you go to a lot of games with me, I think you might be setting a record this year. We'll be right back. I generally yell first towards the, you know, I'm like getting excited about the team, right? And I'm yelling at the defense or, you know, yelling at the other team to, you know, whatever. Just making noise, just general. But if I see that people aren't moving or getting up or doing anything in front of me, yeah, I start to yell, get up, get up. Because that's what I do. Because I'm a fan, I'm not a broadcaster. I actually want my team to win. I'm a broadcaster. I'm a fan of the you know, 14 yards on it, but one of the times you ran it, you gained 12. Like, you know, you basically get stuffed the other five. Right. I still think it's worth having run it those five or six times, because it's just a, it's a balance thing. It just, it makes the other team think a little bit about what it is that you're going to line up and do. But it depends what type of offense you're doing. I think that's what we're coming to believe is that the beginning of the season, and here's just a fans perspective. The beginning of the season it felt like they said alright alright mr. Sanchez your third year now you go. It's your offense start to wing it and chuck it and that wasn't really working. So then they said that's irrational thinking and then they go back to let's go back to you know a little bit more ground and pound you hear all the ground and pound stuff and then you know we basically They're grounded and pounded it, but that wasn't working either. So I think what's coming around is, and maybe Tom Moore's helping out with this, Listen guys, you're not one or the other. You're not just a grounded pound or a chuck and fuck it like, you know, Rogers is just like, Get up there and sling the fucking ball, right? He's not gonna, he's not gonna do the wildcat because he's so good, he doesn't need the wildcat. Tom Brady doesn't need the wildcat. Yeah, they run trick plays every once in a while. But he, literally, can just watch Rest Walker go eight yards, throw it to him,. And then, you know, hand it to some Shlub running back, it doesn't matter who, gets two, and then wins and repeats. So, listen, I just want them to win. Win ugly, win dirty, win last minute, win in a blowout, just win, baby. And if the Wildcats what needs to get this team back on its, you know, back on its winning ways to the playoffs, great. You know, it seemed to work last week, it seemed to put a wrinkle, it seemed to help Sanchez, I thought, from my view, as a fan, seemed to help Sanchez kind of like, again, stay out of his own head.
03 Justin: Like, I feel like he gets too, you know, that's why the beginning of the games were tough for him, I think, is because he spent the entire week thinking about this game. And he's a smart guy, so he's like thinking about it and planning it and like going over it and then play calls and all that. That's all I have. And that's why in the fourth quarter and the third quarter he gets better because he stops thinking. He just starts reacting. I'm just a player and I'm using adrenaline and I've got to win and I'm not overthinking this shit. In the first series it's always scripted and I've got to do this and this and this. And I think that's what's nice about the Wildcats. It just takes him out of that. It's like stop thinking. Go over there and just block this guy. Or even pretend to block this guy. Okay now come back. He's like oh okay now... Now I just gotta play. Just play. Alright. So anyway, that's the big story. I think it's that Tom Moore and now there's lots of talks about, you know, Schottenheimer, whether he's staying or not staying and whether Tom Moore is a helping pick up, you know, he's not going to be the replacement but, you know, what's going to happen. I know you're gonna scream out... What? not screaming on anything oh well you weren't paying attention i said the replacement for shot never north turner maybe yeah um i have some money right there there's no cap in in in coaching we could pay north turner 15 million north turner gets fired which i believe he will and if the jets don't win the super bowl then there's absolutely no reason not to hire north turner as our next offensive coordinator it's not like it's not like shotenheimer is like He is what he is. He's not a wiz kid. He's not amazing. He's nothing special. I actually thought the best job Schottenheimer ever did with the Jets offense was way the hell back in Mangenie's first year. When the Jets were running this really weird, a lot of motion, a lot of trickery, a lot of deception. There was a lot to that offense and it was very hard to cover. It was it was schemy wasn't that because it felt like we didn't have a weapon so we did everybody was very schemy It was like they'd set up then they ate guys with motion right then you know Chad Pennington would get back into Into the shotgun and a receiver would go in motion stop snap the ball to receiver and sneak it for six yards like There were a lot of weird scheme design plays that were meant to take advantage of. It reminded me a lot of the way the Pats run. They run to hurry up if they think they can keep you in a bad situation. It was very situational. I thought that was actually the best job that he had ever done. Which was his first year. It's not like he's shown us anything since. He had a hard time when Fyfe came in adapting. the styles just didn't mix. Um, far of like breaking his shoulder and playing through it didn't really help. Um, and I think he's done an okay job with what we have with a rookie quarterback and moving him along. But it's not like he's North Turner to me is like, you know, next level offensive genius.
02 Justin: I guess the question is, how can you give, and again, I'm just kind of... thinking aloud here. How can you give, we give credit around like oh you know he's they've been to the AFC Championship twice in a row they made the playoffs wins on the road all this stuff you could say all this stuff happened right and then we can kind of say well that's all who that's all Rex like Rex is God because he's done that and Schottenheimer's but Schottenheimer's shit because he was not there. I'm not shitting on him. No I'm saying in general. I think he's okay. Most fans, most jet fans 62.3% of all jet fans do not like shot and hammer and I agree. I mean at times it's It's very hard to watch your team. It is it That's why I went and looked at the stat and I was like, oh they scored 24 points a game That's in the top quarter of the league. That's actually pretty good Right like top 25 top 25 percent like I was actually extremely surprised by that by that statistic but you know I uh... mail call. mail call. but honestly I was he is what he is like you see we try and give him different weapons we bring in different running backs we draft a quarterback go get wide receivers, Brandon Edwards, San Antonio Holmes, Plaxo Burris, what have you, Dustin Keller. It's not a great offense. Like it's not, it's still not a great offense. It's still not, it's not. It's like it doesn't send shivers down your spine when when you're the opposing team out there. You're like, oh, I'm not scared of this offense. It was almost two years ago. I thought we were the scariest offense. two years ago with the ground and pound. Yeah, because we played to our strengths. We had Thomas Jones and Sean Green. And we had the great line. And they played great defense, and they played it right. And you just knew, well, that was the other thing. It was like, it was not a mistake. It wasn't a treat. It was like, listen, we have a great running game, and we're going to make you eat shit. And you're going to eat shit the entire game. It doesn't matter. You can try to stop us, but we've got a great running game. Thank you. And I feel like that's like what Green Bay and even what the Saints and even what you know there's other people even the Pats the Pats are gonna tell you listen we're we're good at what we're do yeah shit we got shitty defense but we're gonna make you eat points like you're gonna eat 30 points I don't care who the fuck you are we're gonna eat yeah so we're gonna throw on you and you know I don't care if you got dwellers we're gonna throw on you And the Packers will say, listen, we've got weapons, we're gonna throw on you. We got one of the greatest quarterbacks that's playing in the game right now. We're gonna throw on you, and you can't stop us. That was nice about that ground and pounding was, you just fell as a jet fan. They're not going to stop that. Sure, we could make other mistakes. And sure, other stuff could happen. But we're not you're not basically gonna stop us at running the ball. We're gonna run the ball. Well, we were also pigheaded about it Yeah, we'd have Third and five and we just run the ball. Yep, and it was I mean you look I was looking at it Also the other day like I was interested in in
03 Justin: Seeing like, you know Sanchez's stats. I think we were talking about it just yeah in the last podcast about you know, oftentimes, and we talk about way back where, way back like a month or two ago, where I was like, decades, like decades where it's like, everyone's like Sanchez is regressing, but the statistics don't bear that out. He's not regressing, he's progressing. The only statistic that he's not progressing it is being sacked. And that's really not a factor of the quarterback. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. But I've been in every game, watched every game, watched every replay of every game, and I can tell you the times he gets sacked aren't because he's fucking around with the ball or holding on to it like Jay Cutler. It's usually because he's like one, two, and then he's back. He's already set his career high in touchdown passes. He's got 11 picks, but you know, so did a lot of other quarterbacks in the league at this point in the season. Hey, that's from the throw more, so if you throw more you're gonna have to... He is throwing more. He's completing passes at the highest percentage he's ever completed the mat. He's gonna throw for more yards than he's ever thrown for, because he's throwing for 20 more yards a game than he has in the past. His rating is 6 points higher than it... than it was in the previous year and the previous year it was 12 points higher than the previous year. So he's 18 points higher now than he was two years ago when we were running the ball on third and five. Now we're not running the ball on third and five. We're playing offense. We're throwing the ball. If we were nine and two right now people would be putting up statues to Sanchez. The point is we're not and so someone's going to take the blame. Alright, let's move on. Let's make some picks. Wanna make picks? Yeah, let's make picks. Alright, let's make picks. So that's it. So that was a nice little conversation about shit that's happening. Let's make some picks. How'd we do last week? Uh, we were tied. Who won the week? We were tied. No, no, no. Who won the week? The Hooligans won the week. Um, they are at 95 right now. The New York SAC Exchange is at 104. With Mattie Jets right underneath them. a friend of the podcast manager, and my brother-in-law is ahead of me by four. So still like a second there. No, I'm still down at the bottom. Uh, no, you're well, you- Yeah, but there are people who haven't picked in a couple weeks, and I'm just now passing them. That's good. I am a good 13 points ahead of you. I talked to my wife because she forgot to make picks. Don't listen to me when you- And you forgot to make this week's pick. Well, I forgot last night's, but I would have lost it anyway. Told you who I was picking I lost it Last night's line Pittsburgh was favored by 14. I was picking Pittsburgh Anyway, and I would have lost anyway, I pick Cleveland. I got a loss. I would have lost You're ahead of me by one. All right. Yeah, all right. So let's talk handicap here This is 130 something 33rd episode 34th. I don't even know I just want to explain to the fans what we're doing here. We do make two types of picks during the later game week whatever of the
01 Justin: podcast. We make one called Jet Kingdom Pick'em. That's where we pick every game and we talk about the spread. We include the spread in our picks and then we pick the throne picks which is where we pick just the AFC East and we talk about it and we get scores. Right. So, you know, back in the day, we used to write this stuff down on a piece of paper, and I might have to do that this week because I don't have anything in front of me. What are you going to write? My scores? For the, for the throne picks? That's correct. Oh, I didn't factually correct. I might have to write mine down too. I will hand you a piece of paper. Oh, thanks. I was going to turn around behind me and get it. Well, well prepared for this podcast. Welcome, welcome back to the 80s. We're writing things on paper. All right. So, let's start with... The one o'clock games on Sunday since the Thursday game already happened and again, I'm I'm going all heart no brain Okay, so as opposed to what got you to the worst of which is all brain was all brain, right? So now you're just gonna heart All right. All right. So here's a big where here's a big heart game Cincinnati is hosting Houston the spread Cincinnati's giving three points so Cincinnati's favorite at home by the standard three right Houston is dealing yet again with injury to Andre Johnson not gonna be playing it's been announced not on your path to team this week Just killing me if you you know if you want to know why I've been losing and backing into the bus because my number one draft pick has been injured Seven eight weeks whatever I lost my number one running back the first week of the season second week and I've won and I've won seven straight Yeah, I had a lot of time to prepare So, alright, so Houston is going into Cincinnati with TJ Yates at quarterback and nobody for him to throw the ball to, getting three points. The heart tells me I gotta still pick Houston because since he has to lose. I pick Cincy in this game. I'm just rooting for stuff at this point. Yeah, no, I want, I want. I want Houston to win because I want them to keep having Cincy lose, but I just feel like Cincy's gonna win. So I pick Cincy. You're picking Cincy. Alright, so the next game doesn't have a spread. I have no idea why. Can you tell me why? Adrian Peterson. Ah, so Detroit is hosting Minnesota. There's no line. So I'm gonna pick it with no line and I'm just gonna pick Detroit. Yeah, no, I gotta pick it pick it no I got a picture toy in Detroit if nothing else even if AP's back I don't see them go anywhere. It's kind of just falling apart I mean both mentally it's had a really hard schedule Yeah, and they end against the Packers. I think in a couple weeks. They had a really hard last Month or so and and in particular their last two weeks. They had Green Bay and at New Orleans Those are two tough. Yeah, tough games
00 Justin: So they went from 7 and 3 to 7 and 5. I think they pick it back up here this week with Minnesota So give me Detroit. Yeah, I think the trouble Next game to pick with the heart New Orleans being many games We mean skipping. That's all right. It's the next one New Orleans is going to Tennessee Tennessee and New Orleans is favored on the road by three and a half And we need New Orleans to win this game. So go Saints. Yeah, New Orleans are, I think, our second best team in the NFL at this point. They are doing a really good job. They don't play as well on the road, generally. You know, we're a resurgence of the Tennessee Titans. Here comes Chris Johnson, who for the last, for the first... you know, whatever, eight weeks of the year was sort of nowhere and sort of has shown up. We definitely need door wins to win. I think the Saints will win and cover, so I'm gonna pick the Saints. Great, we need that to happen anyway. Yeah. Go NFC. All right, so moving right along we have Atlanta going to Carolina. Yeah, big game for Atlanta. Atlanta needs to win this game in Carolina to have their playoff hopes continue. I don't know why I just have a feeling that Carolina's gonna beat Atlanta. I just feel like this is gonna be a high-scoring game and Carolina's getting points at home two and a half. So give me the home team. Yeah, I actually think Carolina, you know, they they seem to be in most games and and Cam Newton has kept them in most games, but You know again, Atlanta is a great home team not so great on the road Carolina's defense is horrible so you could say a big day for them But I still feel like if you had to do a shootout Still feel like you could just see him and running it in five times Yeah, it's going so yeah, I'll take Carolina. Yeah. All right here comes uh comes a shitty game So on Monday night No, she gave me something. There is a shitty Monday night. You may as well just ended on Sunday night. Uh-huh Jacksonville is hosting Tampa This is just an awful game. It's off probably Josh Freeman. She's is the reason why it's off I imagine I'm just gonna pick Jacksonville at home just cuz I don't think either of these teams are very good You know Jacksonville got embarrassed last week Was it Monday night? Right San Diego? Yeah, San Diego. I mean this was a defense that people were saying Hey, they're gonna stand up. They just lost their head coach They just got embarrassed. Yep. I I actually think they're gonna rebound a bit. I think it'll be close Timo Bay's no good either. They're awful. So this will just be a Reese Jones Drew should run for 150 in this game. Yeah, this will be a slow Pounding the ball both sides pounding the ball. Maybe some turnovers. I'll take taxes off. All right Last one o'clock game Baltimore is hosting Indianapolis
05 Justin: in the matchup of the Colts coming back to Baltimore. Oh, okay, you gotta think the schedule maker was like, some of these games are like, that's gonna be so good, that's gonna get flexed. Well, the last couple weeks, they're like, yeah, we got India and New England, then we got Baltimore and Andy, this is great, we got Peyton Manning all over the place. No, this is just awful. Baltimore is, I'm playing 16 and a half. to the Colts. And generally I just, I don't even care about these lines. I just take that team in Baltimore. But in this case, I'm just going to pick the Colts. Because last week they got down 31-3 and then they backdoored their way back into the covering. Think the same will happen this week. Yeah, I yeah, I totally agree I don't I don't believe in either one of these teams very much Baltimore is much better But I think if they get up by two touchdowns, I think that's sort of the end and they'll just kind of okay So 16 and a half. I'll take the Colts. Yeah, look for Ray Rice. I'm a pretty monster game Monster game So, moving right along, another game where us jet fans have a rooting interest. The Denver T-Bos are hosting Chicago, and Denver is favored by 3.5. And this is a That's interesting this it's finally now to the point where This is a game that Denver is now expected to win Yeah, you can't they can't play the whole at the three-point half they got a half So I got to know but this is it forget the points. This is a game that People are saying Denver should win this game. Yep, 73% of the people pick there's a complete Yeah, there's a total you know expectation of winning now, which I think they've been able to like skate off of the nobody believes in us Tim Tebow No one likes him thinks he sucks. We shouldn't be winning games. We're winning them anyway despite what people think right? Well this one they're expected to win and I want to see what happens when expectations are high And they have to get used to it. It's always gonna be that way. It's not bad. Not bad. Not bad I'm picking Chicago because I got a roof for him. Yeah, no, I'm picking Chicago because I like the hook. Here's the thing. I have been picking against Denver every week. And I feel like if I don't pick against them and they win that week, they flub that week, I'm gonna be mad. So I'm gonna keep picking against them. I picked against them all week. I'm picking against them this week. Chicago look for peppers that have a huge day sack Tivo 20 times Wow All right, the The NFC West division champion San Francisco 49ers are hosting a division rival
00 Justin: That doesn't really matter or they're not hosting. They're going to Arizona. Sorry there. They're favorite on the road Which confused me there so San Francisco's favored by four in Arizona Give me San Francisco. Yeah, give me some Cisco don't care enough said Green Bay And this is fun because we get to root for Green Bay this week So nothing more fun than rooting for the best fucking team in the world Planet 12 and 0. They're hosting Oakland. Oakland coming off of a miserable, miserable loss to the Finns and they just looked awful and I can't imagine that they're gonna look any better against Green Bay. Green Bay's favored by 11. Just give me the pack. I just flipped my pick. I thought it was in Oakland, but now I know it was in Green Bay. I don't like 11, but 11, my 13 is where I usually flip. 13 is where you draw the line. Yeah, but I'll take 11. I'll take green bay. I picked them last week and they couldn't cover. Oh, I think it might have been the first time they didn't cover last week. Yeah, so I'm gonna go with them in Green Bay. Actually, that's probably wrong. I'm sure they've been favored by like... 20 yeah one by 12, but we green pay go pack go go pack go and take them out I want. I want I need all these teams to lose all right Sunday night Sunday night big game here in New York the Dallas Cowboys Not in your foot. Okay. Well, it's a big game in New York cuz the Giants are playing. No, okay The Giants are going to Dallas where they've played well the last bunch of years. They've won twice in the new stadium. I understand they've won about three or four in a row down there. Oh yeah, in the new stadium they've won twice. Dallas is favored by three and a hook, three and a half. I like the Giants to lose by three. I like the Giants, I picked the Giants both to cover and to win this game. I thought they played the Packers pretty tough. That's what they did. Here's the thing, Tony Romo. He's no non-noders. Tony Romo will give it 45 seconds to go down at the end of the game. He does it all the time. He throws and they run back to us. You've seen him throw interceptions because that's what gets the big. hype in the big hoopla. He won that game last week, but the fucking coach decided to ice the kicker and call a timeout as he's making the kick Yeah, no, I I'll take the Giants. I'll take them with the points. I think they're gonna win this game Go Giants couldn't disagree more but anyway, but at least it's the last game of the week to watch and so then I'll have Yeah, I'm done even talk about this Monday night game. I'll take Seattle. There's no line. So Seattle's hosting st. Louis There's no line. I'm assuming that's Because of the st. Louis quarterback situation, which may include a third string quarterback Yes, the team that scores a feely I think isn't it? No AJ feels the backup You know we're talking about points per game
02 Justin: The Rams score 11.7 points per game. They're the worst in the And that's with like a starting quarterback. So with a third-string We'll see if they get to six. I am my sneaky fantasy pickup of the week was picking up Seattle D I picked up the. The Seattle kicker because I wanted a player on Monday night. Yeah, so I have to watch this game Unless I'm just being destroyed, but I have to watch this game because I have the Seattle defense going in the playoffs and Yeah, so for it all right, so let's so let's back our way Into the throne picks the AFC East why not where we pick all the AFC East games with the scores And I'm gonna in lines this week. I was why I'm with them right here. Here you go so let's start with Philly going to Miami sure and And there's no line on this game. That is because of Michael Vick. Michael Vick. Who I think he's playing I think he's playing think he's back. I guess he's back back again I would like him for to be back one game get hurt and go back. Why don't we play a little game name game? What do you think the lot because I bet I could find the line, oh, yeah What do you think the line is on this game? I think it's dolphins by two and a half Uh, it's fill, fill some time because I'm trying to find... Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do So anyway, I like milk. It's good for you. Let's see. Alright, why do I think it's... Because the Miami Dolphins have been playing well. They've got, they're de-slinging up. That more hasn't been looking bad. They found a new running game with Reggie Bush. This is a team that I think has turned it around. They lost last week, but they had won the last three before that. Philadelphia is just, I don't know, they're getting Macklin back apparently. They have weapons in McCoy, but I just don't know. I don't really, I'm not sure I believe totally in this team. And I think at this point... They're kind of like just playing to play. I don't feel like they're really playing to win. They're just going on the field. And the whole thing with Deshaun Jackson, like the team's just falling apart. They're asking to fire the coach. You know, Michael Vick, if he comes in and gets touched, I would just lay down and be like, whatever. Next season, dude, I'll see you. What was your score again? I said it was a 2.5 point spread. I couldn't find the line. But, um... Really? Yeah, I don't know where to go. Probably some Vegas site or something. You'll find it. Yeah, I'll find it. So what was the score that you said? Oh, uh, score. I didn't pick the score. Oh, what's the score? Uh, I think I'll pick, um... What did I pick here? I don't know. I picked Miami to win. So I'm gonna pick it 20... 2 to 19. Okay. Dolphins. Great. So I also picked a Dolphins twin. I think they are. That's a good idea. They're a damn good 4 and 18. They're playing
01 Justin: their hearts out. Uh we're playing their whatever out. Um I agree. Philly's kind of tired. Minus 3. Minus 3 Philly or Miami. So uh. Miami minus 3. I would pick the minus three. Uh, Vic or Novik, Philly looks done. Deshaun Jackson's quit. Uh, their defense is horrid. Horrid. Just awful. I can't wait to talk about playing against them next week. We're like, that Philly team, we gotta watch out for that defense. They're quick, they got awesome. Uh, that looks like more and more of a just a bad signing for them. Yep. They don't really know how to use them, which is really odd. I mean they got all these corners. They don't know how to use them So I have Miami winning also 1913 Oh 1913 yeah, excellent. All right next up next up. We have New England's going to Washington where we just came. Yep from going to and New England just to give you the spread New England's favored by eight so I'm picking New England I mean the Jets beat him by what 15 so New England should be able to beat him by eight you know Washington we covered it you know on Monday I mean they're just not very good they're not very good I mean they're just average they're okay they're going against one of the worst defenses so I really, I don't know if the Pats defense is really that bad. I could see, here's the thing, I could see them saying, listen, this is gonna be the Roy Hallou show and we're just gonna use him in every time situation. Well that's what won't work, cause the Pats are actually pretty good against the run. I think they're like top 10 defense against the run. I think it's cause he can't run on them. The Jets tried, we couldn't run on them. Well we couldn't run on a lot of people. But, the way you do it, you can run on the sides. I mean the Pats give up quite a few yards, but their points against is in the top half of the league. They don't give up 20 points a game, which is actually better than the Jets. So you can make the statement that that the Pats D's better than the Jets D's. You can make that statement if you want. Either way, they're too dynamic on offense for Washington to slow down. They're not gonna be able to stop New England from doing whatever they want on offense. Nope, they have a good pass rush from the outside, but they couldn't sack the Jets. I don't think they're gonna sack Brady. So to me, this is kind of a no brainer. New England's gonna get over 30. So give me 34 and Washington. 11. Very close, I said 33 17 Patriots. Okay moving to a 4 15 game. San Diego is hosting Buffalo and there's a lot of like you know these teams are both five and seven.
03 Justin: They're technically not eliminated from the playoffs. Mathematically. Mathematically correct. They're, they can still make it. Yep. They're technically in the hunt. Although last night we watched where the guy just crossed them out every time. I think it was Mike Mayock was just like, Errrr! Get them off my screen. Segway. Sorry, quick Segway. Last night. Just because I was explaining this to someone else today. We're talking about the game. We're talking about Sanchez and the person who will show the name. Very nameless. Said to me, you know, oh well Sanchez and I had the same thing We had the Sanchez talk and then I guess here's an example of like media bias. So last night we're watching Oh, this is a joke. Go ahead the watching the Baltimore Cleveland game and the end of the game, right? They're like I like what that What that McCoy killing kid did here? I like what he did today and I was like, oh, yeah Oh, let's see what he did. They throw up his stats and it was like 10 for 19. No, it was it was like it was it was around 50% But it was like whatever his garden is it was like 18 completions or something like that I like 200 yards. Okay, you know what now I'm interested pull it. I find it was zero touchdowns three interceptions Let me let me give you his line. I have it right in front of me. Okay Colt McCoy went 18 for 35, which is 51%. One incompletion rate of 209 yards. Got sacked three times, zero touchdowns, two interceptions, a quarterback rating of 46. And then here's the announcer's thing. And the announcer's like, I like what he did, but the most telling. Cleveland scored three points and lost the game. Jake: So how do you like what the quarterback's doing? Justin: I like what he did. He did a nice job. He did a nice job. He showed up. How is that even possible? He literally was on the field. He walked on the field and that's it. And he didn't shoot himself. I like what he did here. Insanity ensued. Literally there would have been a riot in New York City. about the American-American community, please visit If Sanchez had a 46 QB rating and we scored three points, I mean it'd be like, this guy's the worst. Come on. It's moving on. So the Bills. The Bills are going to San Diego. Yep. So that's a tough cross. It's a tough travel. Although you know nice for the bills to leave Buffalo in December info, San Diego Really? I think it follows the bills and be like I wish San Diego was coming. No, I'm just saying as a bill Person who has to stand on the sidelines both these teams are five and seven the losers just totally done I think both are done. But you know, San Diego is actually closer They're not technically closer, it's the same record, but they're closer to their division than they are to the wildcard because there's more teams in the hunt for the wildcard. They're closer to winning their division. The Bills cannot. I think. Because the teams ahead of them, I'm sure you can believe in Denver if you want. Oakland, I feel, is going to fall apart. That's just my feeling on it.
00 Justin: And San Diego is only two games back. I'm sure that they play at least one of those teams at least one more time. They know they play one of them at the end. Yeah, they play Oakland the last week of the season. Their schedule is actually not very easy, San Diego. But anyway. You know, they scored a bunch of points last week, right? They scored 38 points, I think, against the Jags on the road. Jags are halfway decent defense. I feel like Buffalo and San Diego are both not very good, but Buffalo is going in the crapper faster. Right. Like they're just they're just not able to play at this point. They're just too injured, it's over for them, people have figured them out, they're hot start, it's done. With that said, I'm going to pick San Diego who is giving seven points and my final score is 28. 17 yeah, I mean I just think Buffalo go on I think they're they're kind of done I mean they had done their toes they're done their their scheme is done You know their defense is terrible defense is terrible, San Diego. I think they're a little pumped up They're at home. I think they're gonna have a good game and I can see them winning 31 21 Yeah, we both have them up in the high 20s and low 30s. All right, so on to the game of the decade this doesn't even get the game of the century for me no this is i'm not all that excited about this guy well then don't go oh i'm going i almost didn't go but let so the jets are home they're playing kansas city and um and uh kansas city led by tyler palco who's just a really awkward quarterback. Oh come on, he's on one, one interception, or one touchdown and six interceptions. That's a good, isn't that good? His touchdown was on a Hail Mary. Mary Mail, hey. If it works, it works, that's fantastic. Earl Rock, if Earl Rock or Haddon, if you just caught it, there would be nothing. Yeah, you know I was listening to a podcast earlier in the week. Cheater. See you next time. See you later. Listen other podcasts. I don't just listen hours and you don't even listen. I don't I Download it for the stats down just please if you don't listen to it download it so I was listening to to Bill Simmons and he was talking to Mike Lombardi from From you know Showtime and from the NFL Network Yeah, it was him who he was talking to this about and and they were talking about the strategy of knock it down, right? and And they were like, why do these guys... Like, they get the knock it down, but they were like, teams have adapted to the knock it down. Like, the guy who's sitting underneath everybody who's waiting for the knock it down. Literally just lying on the ground like this. Waiting for it. Throw the ball to me. Or just knock it down into me. They were like, why don't they knock it... Away! Up! Or backwards. They're like, you're in the back of the end zone, knock it out of the end zone.
02 Justin: Knock it out. If you knock it back or out, no one can catch it. Even if they catch it, they're out of bounds. And once you touch it, you can just tackle everybody. Like, so if you knock it up or back, you can just tackle it. Once you've tipped, you can just tackle. Flip it. Just flip it and bump it. Bump it. reverse it and so Anyway, I don't think Kansas City is gonna be able to move the ball on us whatsoever. They have they have Their running game is completely gone to crap it left week two Yeah, cuz Thomas Jones is really old Jackie battle is not very good and McCluster is just quick, but you can you can hold him down. I mean that's that's actually the guy I'm the most worried about Dexter McCluster like on the outside but... No I think he'll do the stuff that Hulu did to us. Yeah that kind of that kind of play but I don't think they're gonna be able to do much on us because we're not gonna be able to throw at all at all because his best target Duane Bowe is gonna be on the island right and nobody else is good enough to get open really for Tyler Palko to hit him. Right. I expect a lot of sacks. I expect defense to dominate this game. I expect good field position. I expect multiple turnovers. And I expect us to win handily. Handily. Handily. Like, like going away. Empty at the end of the game, like, it's just... Not empty, like, everyone's just... relaxing like this is great like it's a nice 39 we haven't had one of these in a while and and I would really like one me too um do you want my key I want your key to the castle all right my key to the castle is protection of Mark Sanchez okay because that's gonna be the key if you can protect them and keep them upright he won't make the mistakes And if we don't make any mistakes we win this game going away because They're gonna turn the ball over It's it's a given. It's gonna happen Right, it's just like the Redskins game. Yeah, we're gonna turn the ball over just have to wait for it Just don't turn it back over. Can you hold on the ball? Don't make stupid mistakes Keep the protection, you know, basically they have a pass rusher in Tomahali keep him away and And and keep Sanchez upright. We'll be able to run it against them We'll be able to throw it on them. They have a good corner and flowers, but we'll be able to take care of the rest My final score is 31 6 oh wow like no touchdown they're not gonna score that's nice 31 baby. I agree with you in a lot of things. I agree with you in some of the score I say we're gonna win 30 to 10 The reason I say 10 is because in almost every game other than the Jaguars at the end of the game when they have two Minutes left we're up by 30 30 to 3 Almost the Bills did it. I mean they always always would be able to come down and score a lot of things. But Tyler Palko's so bad. Whatever. It'll be a Hail Mary at the end of the game.
01 Justin: They'll do something like that. So that's the way I see the game going now. Here's my key to the castle. I got a key. You go on. I can just say, Tyler Palko is like if you were to take Tim Tebow and remove the running. Like if you were to just be like, Tim Tebow has to throw 40 times. And he can't run, because he's got a broken leg. Like, that's how bad Tyler Palco is. Here's, I think, the key to the castle. This is a weird one. I don't think I've ever used this one before, so I'm going to use it now. The only way that this team is going to stay in this game is stupid fucking penalties. I could see in a world where in a crazy world that the Jets live in that this guy gets like a roughing the passer call. He gets a down the field interference, pass interference and they put it at the one or something. I could totally see this, that's the thing. I feel like I can see the money in this game. is on these fucking big, momentum changing, you know, roughing the kicker, right? You go to boot the ball and it's roughing the kicker and they get the 15 yard, that type of thing. That is the thing. Now the Jets aren't a very, you know, they don't give up, they don't do a lot of penalties, but when they do, they seem to do a lot of them in the one game. If they don't, like we had that one game, I think we got zero penalties. So that's to me, just keep it a clean game. Don't overplay it. It's like you said, this isn't a chess match, this isn't a battle, this is a big brother holding down the little brother's hands, the head, and watching the little brother swing his arms, I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get you! Just, but don't fuck it up. Just hold him down and don't let him do anything stupid. The other thing too, and this is for people who are going to the game, we're gonna be there. Don't be surprised if the score is 10-3 at halftime. 10-3 jets? That's right. Oh, okay. Don't be surprised if we haven't put up those 31 in the first half. Because Romeo Cranel is a good defensive coordinator. He can put some things together, but that team's not talented enough to play four quarters. I watched him. time. because they've been on in prime time the last like I think two or three weeks or something like that I watched him play the patch real tough in the first half right like gave up no points But it made Brady look bad right and I watched them do it to one other team and even last week They only gave up three points. I mean Don't be surprised if the score is like 7-3, 10-3, 10-6, you know, something where you're gonna wanna boo. Right. Like, this offense sucks! Wait till the end of the game. We have- True. Reserve judgment. We have our whole booing thing. Again, I- Not allowed to boo. Yeah, you can boo. You're allowed to yell, you're not allowed to boo. Am I? The sound boo!
00 Justin: No. No, and by the way, they're announcing they're announcing. Ooh, that's fine. All right. They're announcing the offense this week How do you know you just know this I read it there? They're gonna be announcing the offense because they were upset the last time they announced the offense people booed Sanchez as he came on the field Uh, and don't boo the quarterback And Rex believes that that won't be happening this time. So he wants to announce the oven so don't boo booing stupid Well, here's the day at halftime when they're going in And you know, if we have the ball on our own 30 and there's 12 seconds left and we kneel, don't boo, because that's stupid. Like, just relax. You're telling all the fans to not be stupid and irrational? Please. You might as well tell them not to drink. I'm a broadcaster. Okay. By the way, we didn't announce the Jets are favored by 9 in this game. Oh wow. Yeah. That is, that's a lot. It's actually a pretty hefty line for the Jets. Yeah, I'll take the Jets. Me too. All right Well that'll wrap up the Friday edition. Oh, do we want to just go through like who needs to lose? Oh sure Everybody cuz well this week is the week. This is the week because all the teams can lose They really can they have very hard matchups. So when you look at it, so we already got fucked by Pittsburgh I wasn't really would have liked them to lose not worried about Pittsburgh. They're too far ahead So, Tennessee is playing New Orleans. Real tough game for Tennessee. Tennessee 7-5, we're 7-5. Now remember, of the 7-5 teams, we're in last. Because of either head-to-heads or conference records. But we might be able to pick that back if we get a couple of those. We have two more conference games to get to 7-5 in the conference. Not great. But Tennessee can easily lose to New Orleans very easily. Cincinnati has Houston. Houston, despite being so injured, they're still a very good team. Best defense in the league. Great running game, gonna be a tough one for Cincinnati. Oakland is playing Green Bay. That's great for us. This is our week. This is the week. And the last one's Denver. They have Chicago. go. In Chicago or in Denver in Denver, but I fit even with Chicago without color and without I'm without forte There Chicago's against a great deep Chicago's defense and special teams can win them games. I mean that could be one of those, you know 10-7 type of game right the problem is Denver's been pulling those games out of their ass They're winning all these get they're staying close and they're winning in the fourth We need Chicago to step up for us, but even so The West is sort of muddled because they're more playing for the division then the you know as long as Oakland loses To Green Bay, which I'm pretty sure they will will be in good shape Hey, I'm looking at us being in that sick spot by the end of this week. That would be nice That should happen when the standings come out Sunday night or whenever they're you know whenever all the games are over on Sunday I think all these are all these are at 1 o'clock no all comes at 14 at 730 on Sunday we should be the sixth seat that would be nice then we got to keep it that's well that's all you can ask for we're in the driver's seat controller on destiny
26 Justin: We even have a Google Plus page. I don't know how to direct people there, but... Just find us. Find us on Google Plus. Just search for it. Just search for it. And go to iTunes.
