09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Can't wait! Jake: Welcome, did you? The longest running near-jet podcast on the internet period. It's Jake on this Monday edition of the podcast and joining me from 35 times, it's 135 times, is Justin. How are you doing? Um... Justin: Cheery, it's Monday. We're recording. That's always good, right? That's a good thing. I guess we yeah Jake: I don't know. Yeah, if we lose that I would I don't think we have we ever reported a Monday podcast. No, I I Justin: instituted that way early on About a hundred episodes ago, but I know that's ago that we are not We lose we don't record till at least Wednesday or Thursday for score in 100 episodes ago. Yeah Jake: So yeah, we got a big agenda for today back when we were doing this over Skype. Yes, yeah It was darn well your rookies I've got like five thousand dollars worth of equipment to record this stuff sitting in the studio in the studio in the Secondary studio so we're talking about the game the Chiefs take on the New York Jets. That was a game? No, that high school matchup. There's some news around the NFL. We'll talk about that. And maybe we'll sprinkle in some of the fantasy things. I want to start by saying I walked over here and I came in. The first thing I said is I'm in a freaking miserable mood. Yeah, it was the first thing you said to me. So let's see how that just goes for the rest of the afternoon. For the rest of the podcast. Can't wait. Um, what shirt am I wearing? You are wearing the can't wait shirt. I'm wearing my can't wait t-shirt. I am wearing the Jets one last yesterday. So let's talk about the game. Well we'll pick our night and play the game. Um, and we'll talk about the injury. Big one. That happened but uh, this was a... I don't know, it was a strange game. It started off like, you know, well first of all, no one booed Sanchez coming out of the tunnel. Justin: Except the guys behind us. Jake: Well, oh yeah. There are different guys behind us than we normally know. No, those are the same guys. Oh, they're just terrible. Yeah, they're terrible. The guy behind us is awful. The guy right behind you is not the same guy, but the two guys next to us, or behind me, those are the same guys. Justin: These guys must have been fans from like, Shea Stadium era. Right. You can feel it. that they felt a lot of pain over the course of their life. Jake: I mean, we say sakchez, but they like believe sakchez. Justin: They eat sakchez for dinner. Jake: Yeah, they basically, I mean, they were like yelling at the, I was wearing a Bart Scott. I've been wearing the Bart Scott since we've been winning,
02 Jake: so I'm not taking it off. I've been going black Bart, so I wear my black hat. My black sweatshirt and the barcscot jersey. So yeah, they were pretty negative. But they did not boo when money came out. Which by the way, I wanna make clear to the media, there's this thing like, oh, the Jets fans booed Mark Sanchez when he came out of the tunnel. That's not actually correct. Justin: Yeah, that doesn't even sound like. Thanks for watching! Jake: No, what happened is there were some fans on the side while he was warming up who were booing him. So like five guys on the side. Justin: It's like 12 people in a stadium of 80,000 boob. Does that mean the fans booed? No. Jake: Yeah, so I just, I don't like the way. Anyway, it, you know, it was a nice cool crisp. December is probably the we did mention before although I'm probably putting myself in pain for doing this But it's been the nicest weather we've ever had for games And this I think was the game that we both predicted. I think we're our predictions for this game were very close We wrote them down on paper. Yes, so I remember mine mine was like 31 10 Justin: Mine was... no, you didn't have 31 because I had 31. We had different numbers. That higher? I think I was closer. Jake: Mine was 31.6. I remember that specifically. Right, because you didn't think they scored a touchdown. I did not. And I thought they'd come back in the late part when we didn't matter and he scored a touchdown, which was actually correct. It basically started off the way that I think the last couple games were starting off, which is that the offense takes the ball, they go down the field, and they score in a sort of very dominating fashion. some big breakout plays Justin: People were very angry at the oh, yes, the debacle of Jake: Pre first snap needing to take a timeout. That's pretty much the dumbest timeout on the entire planet Well, yeah, you've been basically planning for for seven days It's pretty it's pretty you then you then take another 30 seconds to or to think about Justin: I just wonder, I mean I've never played football. No, I could see that. Professionally or amateur and well, aside from just, you know, school yard, fking around, but... You could say fking spot that. I could, I didn't feel like it. I wonder if before the game... Does everyone does everyone know what the first place gonna be? Yeah, it's scripted the whole thing scripted first 15 years Why does he have to call it in? Jake: Like why why is the first play like I feel as if it's part of the rhythm It's just like you call on the play. He knows what it is But he's calls in that wasn't the problem the problem was that 10 men on the end and I'm enough guy Justin: Right cuz they hit whatever it didn't even matter cuz you know what the first play Sean Green ran for 31 yards So I made up for the time. Jake: I would say I would I turned the guys the negative Nellie's behind us and I said was that worth it? And they're like yes Justin: Get the rhythm going. Sean Green going. Jake: Yeah, so you know Mark Sanchez and the and the running game was really is really this the big
02 Jake: Big storyline of this game right running game came back. I think Sean Green had What was it? A hundred and... Justin: 129 on 24 carries and a touchdown averaging 5.4 carry. Jake: And 58 yards uh received it. He had his one of his best games. Justin: Yeah he was uh pretty good. I think it was his best game of the year. I mean he had three touchdowns last week but this was a better game. He ran more consistently. scored when we gave him the chance. Had a nice big screenplay, I think it was 36 yards. Both him and LT out of the backfield were the leading receivers. The receivers, like Sanchez has this great game. I mean, he only threw for 181 yards. It actually reminded me a lot of the... the playoff game from two years ago against San Diego where he only threw the ball like I don't know 20 times right but we won that game easy because we ran a lot and well you know the receiving wise San Antonio home's two catches for 12 yards and a touchdown and plaques zero for zero. Not great, but didn't really matter. Jake: But isn't that the thing of this team? And I know I've said this before, isn't that the thing about the New York Jets is that they have a lot of talent. There is a lot of talent. And eventually, unless you're Drew Brees, Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, and who can just go out there and just wing the ball left and right. Basically, you're gonna spread the ball, and if something's hot, go with it. So, you know, there's been times when Prezico Burress has four touchdowns in the game, and there's been times where he doesn't get the ball. I don't care, either way, if you win, that's great. I would love for the team who's having to set up their defense against us going, What are we waiting for? Are we waiting for that four touchdown practical burst game or the game where he gets zero? That to me is good. It's saying that, listen, maybe they saw something on tape against the Chiefs. They sucked. And they said, you know what? We don't need to do a lot of throwing. All we got to do is run the ball. He would have had a couple of other catches. He had two that were... Justin: Pass interference or one is a big one passing a ferrance. Yeah, they have that one drive it was the past the Penalty drive quarter. I think it was the the second drive in the third quarter We started at our own ten Went backwards to the two and a half. Yep And then drove for a touchdown. 90 yard drive and I think I read 74 or 76 of those yards were on penalties. Jake: Yeah, they had 128 yards of penalty. Justin: And a lot of it was that one drive. I mean, that was the drive where Haley got an unsportsmanlike on the sideline. Because there was a late hit. There were a couple of pass interference plays. There were some holding plays. I mean, with... Literally just every play was like where's the flag there it is and we laugh about it. Yeah, it's like oh wow
01 Jake: We just went 90 yards and really only picked up 15. It's kind of crazy. Well, that was running places How's it that was the other thing about this game? This game was over at half It was really there are games where you you know They can come back and where it's just a one-way game, but this game was really over at half It was like they could not move the ball. They didn't get they couldn't get first down. They had that one drive They kicked a long field goal, which, you know, take that, try to do the field goal five times in a row, you're gonna miss four of them. Maybe three of them. Justin: Yeah, they kicked a long field goal. But then, really, that they just couldn't move. No. I mean, if you, well, the first half, they had four yards. So if you look at their... first half drives. Their first drive was a three-play drive for five yards. Their second drive was a four-play drive for six yards that ended up with the 53-yard fill goal. Their next drive was four plays for 13 yards. Their next play was three plays for negative one and that ended in a pick. The next drive was three plays for zero, three plays for negative six, two plays for negative 13. So they, I mean, they, they accumulated negative 20 yards in the second quarter. They actually went backwards and turned the ball over once. Jake: That's, that's, that's truly awesome. Yeah, we had- Justin: It was the best first half of football and maybe the best- That's the best. complete half that I've seen the Jets play Certainly this year. I haven't seen the offense and the defense both click right all all at once like Jake: Best half I've seen and what a dangerous team if you can click all at once I mean, that's a team that put up 28 28 points and held their points at three and a half like that's that's a winning wreck. That's winning, right? Yeah I guess the other big story of the game, well I guess there's two things. Well let's not talk about the end of the game. Well, the injury, let's talk about the injury because that's sort of the big one. Yeah, injury is bad. So for the second year in a row, now it's Monday, the MRIs came back. Second year in a row, we've lost Jim Leonard for the season. I think both in December. Um, last time it happened in practice, which is even worse, I guess. It's just- That is worse, because it happened on, like, a Friday practice. It was a Thursday Friday practice right before the Patriots game. And some- some believe, I don't know, you know, conspiracy theory, whatever, that that's why we- Justin: It's not why we lost, it's why we gave up 45, though. It's why we played that badly on defense. So- I mean, it's not like they would've won that game if Jim was out there, but- They wouldn't have lost that bad. I have to believe so this is not good for the Jets Jake: I mean again, we went into the playoffs and won games After it without him so it's not like we can't win games without him He's not the Palomalo who like you lose the Palomalo and you can't win anymore or Ed Reed or this Yeah, there's these players who like They call game switches. He's a great game manager. He's the obviously the quarterback of the defense
02 Justin: Yeah, and the guy again the guys behind it I use the guys behind us as a general term for people around us in the stadium. Yeah, it's not those two three douchebags No, it's not very nice. They're nice people. They're just very very pessimistic very negative It's like, oh, that's the worst guy you could lose on defense. And I, there are, it's not. Because you know what? Do I'll revisit the worst guy you can lose? The worst guy you can lose on defense. And then I would argue David Harris. And then you can go to either Leonard or Cromart. But I don't really think Cromart would be that bad. But, you know, Reavis, then Harris. then probably some mix of Jim Leonard, Cione Pua, because he's kind of the big dude up front. One of those guys are the guys that are, he's sort of in the second tier of guys you can lose. He does call the plays, he does get people into position. He's the best safety on the team. He's definitely better than Eric Smith and Rodney Poole. It'll be interesting to see if we bring somebody in or if we decide to... You know use some of the DBs that we have already in place so do something so the story on the wires has been Jake: They're gonna make I'm gonna put McKnight into Justin: McKnight will be more involved on the defense. That's just crazy, but it's not that crazy. It's crazy enough The paths have been using Julian Edelman for the last month as a defensive act and it's been working fine. Jake: They're also one of the worst ranked defenses. That's not true at all. Well, they literally let the Washington Redskins go score like 34 points or 31 points. Justin: How many points did the Redskins score? I don't know. Let me check it out. I will go look it up. I mean... Jake: But let's keep going on the injury. So, I mean, he's out. We gotta move on. Game, you know, it happened. It sucks. Justin: The Redskins scored 27. Okay. 27 points. Alright, that's one more touchdown than they scored against us. Yeah. That's true. Look, the stats are there. The Pats aren't that bad. Right. At defense. Jake: You know what? Again, I'm... I'm thankful that it at least happened on a Sunday. We've got a week to prepare. Justin: That's the only silver lining where there's really not much great news. It's not a good guy to lose on defense. He's very important to. He was one of the three guys that Rex Ryan brought over with him from Baltimore when he originally came here. Along with Bart Scott and Marcus Douglas, who's not in the league anymore. You know, he knew the system better than anybody. At least it's not year one. At least it's year three. There's guys that have been in the system for about the past couple years. Rodney Poole has been there. Eric Smits been there. I have no idea who the third safety is on this team. I actually don't know. You will find out soon. Yeah, I mean, someone's gonna have to get in there. I mean, I know Strickland gets in, but he's more of a... He blitzes off the nickel or off the slot. I wonder if they could figure out maybe Kyle Wilson could play some safety.
07 Justin: It surprised me if he couldn't. He's a good tackler. I think he's a good tackler. He makes good tackles. He's fast. I bet they could get him to the point where he could be Jake: safety on that team if they needed to. There's only two good pieces of news. One is it happened a week before our next game. Two is that we won games and did a very good as a defense without him. So again, it's it's it's it's not the end of the world in terms of the defense because we've won and gone into the playoffs and won in the playoffs against some of the best teams in the league without him. So when you look at the Jets Justin: We have not And you know, I mean, look at like the Giants. They're playing the guys they signed off the street two weeks earlier starting at middle linebacker. Like we don't have that situation. And then it even went out I think last night. And we don't have that situation. We lose a couple guys and it happens. It just so happens it's the same guy. Jake: This contract's up. I wonder what will happen at the end of the year. This, I think this is the last time. If you, this is the last time you'll see Leonard on the field. I don't know. Justin: I don't think so. I think Rex loves him and we'll get him at a discount because he's been hurt and that's that yeah The value for us is higher than anyone else and no one else is gonna be like there's a guy who missed the end of The last two years has had his knee. I think that's the way fans think Jake: I think the reality of the NFL is and a hurt player the value to the team that has him is much much less than Anybody else because other people They would take a hurt Jim Leonard over anybody for us. We know we can go get other people and we build out the system around them. I don't know. My guess, my putting on the board. Jim Leonard. Put it on the board because I think he's back. Jim Leonard not back in the jets next year. Justin: We'll put that on the proverbial board. On the proverbial board. Jake: All right, so let's pick our play and... By the way, with the scoring. Justin: There's been a lot of praise now all of a sudden the shoddy had a great game. Everyone loves them. Jake: The guys behind us. Those guys. Justin: The Jets are now the sixth highest scoring team in the NFL. So that would put us in the top. Obviously we're in the top 25, now we're top six, that's pretty good work, .2 behind the next team as well. So we're almost top five scoring in the league. Marc Sanchez's quarterback rating is up to 83.1, very impactable. Marc Sanchez, which is eight points higher than last year, so clearly he's regressing. Jake: Yes, that is regression. Justin: Clearly the regression continues.
03 Justin: 21 touchdown passes, 11 picks, that's clearly awful. Jake: Yep, considering he's now. I gotta say, everyone. He scored touchdowns more than his last year, his best year. He still got three games in a row. And he still has three games in a row. And by the way, he's also running, I think, how many this year? He's got five. Five. Justin: Five rushing. Five rushing. He's responsible for 25 touchdowns. Jake: Yeah, so that's true. Justin: So naysayers beware. I'm not getting too up. Like I've said, I'm even keel on Sanchez till the end of next year. So... Oh, end of next year we'll hear from him. Year five is when I get to be critical of him. Jake: Yeah, more yards per game than last year. Everything's up. Up on pace to break his yards for a thing. His percentage is up. Everything's up. You know, so yeah, it's a... It's a good story so far. Alright, so pick your play and night of the game and let's get to talking about some other stuff that happened. Justin: Well, my play and my night happened to... they coincide. The play was made by the night. Jake: Alright, do it. You never do that. Justin: I play the game... I don't. I play the game. It's the first play of the game. Sean Green's 31 yard scamper. I think that's set to tone. It said, you know, we had that I think we did it like upwards of 15 times with where 62 Dukas was eligible 62 out of all. Yeah, it's like alright enough. We know he's eligible. He's on the field. Where else is he on the field? He's eligible fine But that seemed to work. Bring in the heavy package. We did that a lot last year and the year before. We would do it with with 75 with with Turner who we've lost for the season but Turner in in the preseason Turner would come in and be eligible right war hunter or both and They'd bring them both in and we'd go heavy and we'd run on people and that's what we did yesterday and I think on the first play they did it he broke one for 31 set the tone of the game uh and and it just kept rolling from there so my play of the game was done by my night of the game Jake: shawn green nice uh having troubles really it was such a good game yeah yeah it's kind of like you Justin: know it's it's all the offense and the defense both played really, really well. So you could really pick from either side. Jake: Yeah, but I feel like on the defensive side, there wasn't a stand out. There wasn't a stand out. Everybody shared like five sacks, but I think they were shared amongst most people. Justin: Well, you can't share five sacks amongst most people. Jake: Well, I mean, I'm looking at the sacks and it's one, one, one, one and a half. Yeah, it's every- A bunch of halves. Yeah, so I mean, no one really, you know, no one like dominated. You know, were they able to move the ball when they wanted to at the end? Yeah, sure, but I think they were just in prevent defense I think I'm gonna have to go back and give it to our boy and I was sort of sad to give it to the Same guy, you know to the guy we talked about so much but the last two games You know Marc Sanchez for all the all the for all the booze that he hasn't gotten for all the bad
05 Jake: You know press that he's getting for all the he can't win this and do anything He's been playing some pretty good ball, scoring lots of touchdowns, leading good drives. What else could you want, right? Justin: Yeah, they announced him as the comeback kid. Comeback kid? Did you hear that? They go through the whole spiel. I think they were trying to pump it. They were because when he comes out they always announce... NFL record holder for road playoff victories. Then they announced the statistic one of five quarterbacks in the history of the NFL to win 30 games in their first three seasons. Jake: The only quarterback of the New York Jets to have two rushing touchdowns and two playing. Justin: They'll do that next time. For the giant game. And then they were like, the comeback kids. Mark Sanchez. Jake: And play the game, I'll give it to the naked boot. Love that play. That's a good play. So it's such a nice play and then when you're following it. I feel like you could run it like three times a game, not just once. I feel like you could run it almost any time. Like a first pound. As long as they respect that you're going to run it with a guy, it almost works. Justin: Like if you bring in that heavy package and 62's eligible, I'm wiping my hands across my shirt. 62 eligible and you've run that three or four times. and I'll talk to you again soon, friends. Feel like you could run that on second and nine at the 40 hmm and get 12 15 20 yards even really I do I feel like it would work almost all the time as long as you set it up Jake: Correct problem is you get your quarterback hurt. I mean Justin: You get the first down you slide or you go out of bounds I think you would work. Hey, we get one receiver out there if you know you tell them look You're either running for positive yards if there's a guy in your face You're throwing it out of bounds towards the receiver unless he's wide open and that's it Jake: So the end of the game jets win 3710 and pretty easy And we take out, we not only took out a team, we took out a head coach. We took him out. Justin: Because Haley... I disagree with this by the way. Jake: Haley was fired today. Well let's talk, I think it's interesting because we're putting in context because two coaches were fired today. Yep. Sperano of the Miami Dolphins. That's right. And Haley of the Kansas City Chiefs. That's right. Both fired today. That's right. And both out looking for a job. Now... I disagree with both by the way. Oh, I don't disagree with this piranha one. Justin: I disagree with the timing of this piranha one. Jake: Totally disagree with this piranha. Justin: They should have done it about three weeks ago. Well, they knew they were going to do it, but they got hot, and they started winning some games, and then they just waited till they lost. Jake: Well, they lost two weeks ago against Dallas, but... Then do it then. Yeah. It was stupid because no, they knew they were going to fire him last year. They should have just fired him. So then he goes, oh, and seven? Like, how about that's a good time to fire somebody. That is a perfect kind of fire. Because you have a good reason to do it. Great reason. You just let us team to oh, and seven. You're gone.
01 Jake: Or oh, and five. Oh, and six. He could have said you're bye. To fire him after this with three weeks left and then now the assistant coach is now the head coach and now they're going to go out on the market and look for people. I don't, again. I never thought he was the problem. Actually, I thought their their play calling last year was the problem. The Dolphins this year? Justin: I don't know. There's a new offensive coordinator in there, right? They have a backup quarterback. Now on the third string. He got hurt, right? He got hurt. Concussion. So they're gonna be on their third string quarterback. They bring in new guys. You know long went out in the game yesterday, I believe you know what his status is for ongoing don't care Here's a well. Here's here's where I do care. I hope these guys are just done Matt more. You're done. Goodbye You're not coming back right long. Goodbye. You're done. It's time to rebuild get it third Well, not read not rebuild long. No, not long but seeing there's a team Yeah, like goodbye sit out the rest of the season. We got three games left Just don't bother. Long, we don't want you to get hurt in the long term. Although they don't generally do that with Dolphins and Limon, they come back and play. But I'm looking in. I'm allowed as a fan to look forward to week 17. Oh yeah. You want them to just be like, whatever. Just goodbye. Get out. Jake: Literally, I want them to be planning their holiday party. Justin: I want you to be the quarterback. Jake: I know you'll be there. I want you to be on the field before the game. Justin: I want you to be the quarterback for the Dolphins. I want Chad Pennington to go back in quarterback. Yes. Jake: Lefty. Um, yeah. And then, you know, Haley, I... This is one I completely disagree with. They have more injuries. I mean, again, they have lost their top three guys. Justin: All their best players. They lost their best player on defense in Barry. They lost their best player and most dynamic player on offense in Jamal Charles, who's one of the better running backs in the league. Then they lose their starting quarterback, right? I mean, and they're five and eight. I know they've been embarrassed, but they have – they really don't have a quarterback. And this guy, Paul goes awful. He's not a quarterback. Jake: Well, and they got another one to back him up who went out with one – Who got hurt. One play, he's hurt. I'm sorry. There's a conspiracy there. That guy goes in, collects the check. My thumb. I just, I really... And broke it. Broke skit. Broke it. He just stepped on it before he went out there. Justin: And Stafford's playing with like a broken thumb. Jake: Oh, Big Ben will play with five broken thumbs. Justin: Big Ben will play with a lot of broken things. Yes. He'll play with a lot of various different broken things. Broken bush. Yeah. He'll play with a broken bush. He'll play with a broken bush is right. But I don't agree with the haley one. First off, this is only his third year. In his second year they improved so much that they won their division. Jake: Same thing with Sporano. Sporano in second year he won the division. Right, but this is his fourth year. I believe three is the coach you got to give them three full. Justin: And if that third is marred by injury or some unforeseen circumstance where they've...
00 Justin: You know, I think the Mangini one was warranted. because in his first year they stepped up and they stepped up and into the playoffs. Their second year they got hurt by the injuries which sort of gave him the third year and went from like eight and three to like nine and seven. Like some horrible collapse. And that's warranted. It's like all right. We gave you the three years You got us to the playoffs your first year But didn't go back and you collapsed when it looked like we were a good team right and that's warranted And it and you've lost the locker room. We don't know it didn't seem like Spirono lost the locker room I know but we don't we don't know what's going on in Kansas City. I mean it didn't look like they were a very organized or well-disciplined team yesterday. Jake: It did not and that was that I think if anything got him fired was maybe his behavior on the field. I mean getting it's very rare to get those penalties. They got two of them. I know two un-sports but you got to think if you're the owner and you know you're up there in the box you're in your owner box and you're sipping your you know martinis whatever and you're watching this and the end of the game you know the game is lost and it's just sort of like Justin: Losing control. It's like a baby. Yeah, we can see him and we're on the opposite side of the field in the 200s You know and you can see this guy like flailing his Sheet and like his arms and his you know that piece of paper that the coaches Jake: This game is over for you. So why are you acting like an addict asshole? Like I almost think I could think that what happened in that game got him fired not the score but his actions in the game. But anyway, so two coaches fired. Two coaches fired, yeah. You would think this would be Black Monday, but it isn't. Justin: Some injuries of note across the NFL. I was watching the Packers, Greg Jennings. I left the two to three weeks I hear. Yeah, that could be an interesting injury that could take a little while to recover from. Derek Mason was waved by the Texans. I just figured I'd throw that out there because there was a jet who got waved. It was like, oh, he brought in this guy, he got waved again. He got waved again. So obviously, he's nothing special, nothing that we cut anything special. Jake: Speaking of Derek Mason, we were sitting in the stadium. We stayed till the last play Tom Tom Ray's dad was there again No, I told no How goes dad was there right Justin: Him you made him suck your cock I watch The We were watching on your little fan vision device. Yeah those who don't know I think we've explained it before Jake has this little device it's a four or five inch maybe seven inch sick sick those black and it's there and and it It has all the it has the game you're sitting at live and you can replay everything you can get to stats from across the NFL
02 Justin: It also has a couple of other games red zone to other right two other games that are going on across The country random of and we were able to tune in to the end of the Cincinnati Tennessee game. And we're watching, or sorry, the Cincinnati Houston game. We were also watching the Tennessee Saints game, which I'm not really confused. But we were watching TJH drive Houston down the field. And all of a sudden, there's like no one in the stadium. I stand up and yell, touchdown! Someone's like, we're kneeling on the ground. a couple rows back they're like what what what I'm like you just want the game they're like oh we're watching on the cell phone yeah it just happened it was a very funny moment to like stand up when there's like literally you know a couple thousand people left in the stadium and yelled touchdown everything what we we sort of went without saying this everything went right yesterday only Jake: t-boat we'll get to it in a minute Justin: The Saints eked out a victory against Tennessee at the end. The Houston eked out a victory against Cincinnati. And Hasselbeck's hurt. Hasselbeck got hurt, but Locker came in and didn't look bad, but he's still a rookie. And Oakland got destroyed by Green Bay. Oh, it was just despicable. 46 points. And Rodgers only played three quarters. Jake: So they scored like 40 points at three quarters. And then they were like... All right. And I looked up and there's someone getting sacked in the end zone. Justin: I'm like, oh, they just got to Ro- oh, yeah, that's not Roger. No, that's not Roger. So that wouldn't happen. Jake: And then the other game was the T-po game, where there has to be some divine intervention going on. I almost, I'm not. Unbelieving it. I'm not a religious person. Me neither. But I think if there is a god, apparently whoever- He's a Broncos fan. Yeah, he's a Broncos fan. That's it. Justin: He's taking his Sundays. And he's like. Jake: I should be resting. Justin: I'm resting but I'm watching my boy Tim Tebow. Jake: Timmy. Justin: And I'm gonna make it so that Marian Barber loses his mind and goes out of bounds on this play. Oh yeah, and then. And then in overtime I'm gonna force him to fumble. And then I'm gonna give them, I'm gonna bless this. Fuel goal kicker with the ability to turn 58 yarders into chip shots twice. Yeah, cuz no big deal 58 yards Jake: Whatever they'll set up from so and I'm going to blast this quarterback who really can't throw for the entire first three quarters Yeah in the fourth quarter. He's gonna be they're gonna be able to throw why it's like this Justin: Sanchez thing like we're like we need to trick him into thinking it's the fourth quarter Tebow's a hundred times worse. I mean he's like three of twenty. Three of twenty for the first, yeah. And then all of a sudden when it goes pre-vent he could just pick his spots and roll left. Throw it out there. Jake: Look at these guys, but this is the thing. These guys are fucking uncovered. I mean the guy in the intro was just standing there like he was having a hot dog. He's having a drink.
02 Jake: He's like, oh wait, can I get some peanuts? Oh wait, hold on one second. I just gotta catch this. Justin: Okay, here's what I don't understand so the Bears get the ball back and around the two-minute warning Around a little over to two minutes two minutes and like five seconds eight seconds So they have to run a play to get it to the two-minute warning and that's Denver's last time out So they run a play goes to the two-minute warning It's second and ten with two minutes left and you've recovered an on-site kick. So you're like You're like at the wherever you are the the the 40 right there like of Denver's 40 Why don't you just kneel like why do you have to run the ball? Like why don't you just kneel once they can't start the clock? Okay, that runs it down to I don't know about a minute and 30 ish a minute 20 ish You kneel again that runs it down to the about You go out of bounds, the game's not over, and that's what happens. But that happens... The war can go wrong! You can fumble! You can go out of bounds! Yeah! Just kneel! But this is... John, game over, kneel, John. Jake: These are professionals. No, because if they... They would kneel if they could for the time, but... Again, running the ball... Justin: But you had your essentially ending the game. Jake: Statistically, running the ball is not a dangerous thing to do. Like, statistically... It's one of every 300 or so carries that relent the ball. So it's like statistically You're gonna get Three to four yards and then three to four yards and then be able to and if you don't then you know Get the yard if you if you if you kneel first of all you lose down anyway I understand that and they didn't run the clock properly. That's bad coaching Justin: It's bad playing. It's not really bad coaching. It's bad playing. It's, it's, uh, the guy shouldn't have been at the house. That's not bad coaching. That's like, dude, fall. Just fall. Jake: Here's the end result. End result's not what I was upset. The jets are no longer in the hunt. No, we're in it. We are in, right now we are... As the last spot in the wild card, we are the number six seed. That's right. As of right now. You know who's in the lead right now? Yeah, I think it's Houston. Well, as of right now, we'd be going to New England. Right. They're the three. Right. But I was reading up on this. If they all went out. That's right. If they all went out. We'd go to Houston. Yeah. Houston is the three. Justin: It's weird how they flip, but I guess that's AFC schedule or something. Jake: It would be, it would be Bronco. Um. It'd be Ravens, Patriots, it's one and two. Right. Then Houston. Then Houston. Justin: And as a Jap fan, I really just want to get it. I'd much rather go to Houston. Much rather go to Houston. Now I know they're the best defense at all. First of all, it didn't work.
00 Justin: But I really want to play against TJ Eights and not Tom Brady. That's like an easy choice. Yeah. Jake: Like, let me play against TJ Eights and try my luck, as opposed to going against Tom Brady. Plus, it's indoors. I've never been to the Houston stadium. That's true. Reliant stadium. Reliant stadium. That's what it was called. I don't know what it's called. Whatever it's called. Maybe it's called Reliant. Something something bank, something financial, something insurance. All right. Well, there's only one other little piece of news, which you could probably turn off right now, which is that both you and I in our fantasy segment. I got fucked. Well, we both got fucked. I still have some fucking yet to be done But uh, yeah, I got totally fucked so we're both out of the playoffs basically officially unless your kicker needs a kick My kicker is 20 something eight field goals and two extra points tonight. I will win. Well, if my defense scores 36 points You're Michael Finley killed me. Oh, yes. Well, no the person who killed you was really Calvin Johnson because they scored 37 points or something ridiculous. Detroit scored 34 points. Justin: 34 points if you get zero. Calvin Johnson got me five points so that's ridiculous. That's where I mean there and really Jermichael Finley getting me zero and having you know having guy on the bench where if Tom Coughlin's that Ahmaud Bradshaw just wasn't gonna play and Jacobs was gonna play instead right I could that's my flex spot I decided to Finley, I could have flexed in Jacobs and gotten 22 points there. And then I'd be like, you know, six points back with a kicker tonight, and I'd have a real shot, and I'd be really interested in this bullshit Monday night game. Jake: Yeah, I mean, you know, what could I, I could have flexed in, I could have put in, um... Justin: That's a real decision though. That's not a like... Jake: Gearheart? Gearheart? I had a real decision all week. I've been looking at Gearheart. I'm like, should I put in Gearheart over... Who's the guy's gonna put him in for? Oh, Blunt. Well, that's close, but still. Whatever. Justin: Crappy. We're both out. We're both lost. We're both lost. So, fuck fantasy football. Jake: From now on, fuck it. Now we gotta talk about the keepers. Fuck it. Um, alright, that's it.
