09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away! Jake: Welcome to the Jacking and Pie. podcast, long as running New York Jets podcast, period. I'm Jake, joining me for the 129th time. Is Justin, Justin how you doing buddy? I'm alright, I'm recovering, I was in a bad. mood the last couple days. What could possibly get you in a bad mood? Just a terrible taste in my mouth. It wasn't cock, was it? It wasn't. All right, because that could be a peri- peri- only taste. That would be disgusting. Ha ha ha! This is still an explicit podcast, right? Yes, I just want to make sure all right, so We got a fucking agenda to do today. We have a it's Wednesday and We're doing an early podcast because the Jets are playing tomorrow. That's right But first thing we're gonna do today is we're gonna talk a little bit about just versus Pat just cuz we have to Cuz we have to don't really want to we're gonna pick our fool of the week Or the game And then we'll talk about some injuries and other stuff then basically we're gonna go on and do the rest. Question. Go on. Do you want to just do a podcast about tomorrow and then do another one on Friday about everything else? All the picks and everything else? Okay. You wanna just do this? All right, let's do it. All right. So for everybody out there. Well, if they win tomorrow. Oh, it's and we can do one on Friday. It's just about the game. I'd a be on Friday fuck fest. Oh I like it. Yeah. All right, so we'll do town crier. We'll do other kingdoms. We'll do fantasy Kingdom We'll do checking the pick them without Sarah cuz she got blown out this year and look for her We'll do our own picks and then we'll talk about the Jets King He's the castle and break it all down. So let's get to the beginning of the badness Let's get it. Let's get it out of the way. This is why we don't do a podcast right after the game because it's just ugly Tailgate was good. Tell you it was awesome. Yeah, we had a good tailgate got dark early got real dark I have real dark. I wore shorts to the game a solid choice And basically we got our asses handed to us Yeah. This is exactly what we did. Here's my problem with this game. Everything's been documented and I don't really want to drag Jeff Vance. If I were listening to this podcast, I'd be like, I don't even want to hear it. But here's my problem. It's two years in a row. We have the fucking shot to go ahead and take the lead, take the division, and run with it. you and we fucking have, you know, diarrhea of the football.
02 Jake: Like, not good games. Let this guy rip us one. And I am sick of it, I am sick of it. Even last year, they were a better team last year than they are this year, and like, we still let them go ahead and beat us up. You know what the problem was? The Giants had to go ahead and beat them. music music and the Pats with Belichick and Brady haven't lost three in a row since 2001 or 2002 so they don't lose three in a row it just doesn't happen yeah I'm not gonna say that that's the reason why we lost it's certainly not but it didn't help matters that they were backs against the wall as well. Here's the problem. The problem was you can't, we can't let me finish. Go ahead. Oh, fuck that. Go ahead. Tom Brady is the problem. Yeah, he's really good. If you can't touch him, if you don't, I remember watching plays, again, we were there, watching plays and just watching him for like, it seemed like. a fucking half an hour. Sit back here. He gets tons of time. And just wait. Tons. Just wait. He gets that. You watch every Pat's game. He stands back there. Oh, he just waits and waits and waits. You know, okay, are we gonna have the whole Sanchez to a Pick Six? I mean, that's like Sanchez's thing. That's his new nickname. Mark Pick Six Sanchez. I take exception to the way that. it. other broadcasters are behaving this week. Okay I'm not a broadcaster. I know you're not. I'm just a fan. It's not with you. Okay. It's it's I'll actually call them out. I mean they're kind of big time they're a little bigger than I am but Adam Shine and Ray Lucas, the guys in the studio, I watch everything. I literally can't. I have to pee. It's okay. They are assholes. Really? Yeah, you know what? Because you can't have that short view when you're a broadcaster on television You can't three wins in a row talk about how great they're playing and defense and this and that and then come out and talk about Question marks about Sanchez question marks about Schottenheimer question marks about Rex. They're no good yada yada yada It's unfair. You can't look at this game of football on a week-to-week basis because guess what? Before this week, the Pats were not one of the better teams in the AFC and all of a sudden they're the best team in the AFC. And two weeks ago, guess what? The Steelers were terrible because the Ravens beat them twice in the year. And then the Ravens are the best team in the AFC and then they go lose in Seattle. And then Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati. And now all of a sudden it's Pittsburgh and New England again who are the best teams and the Jets are floundering. So silly to look at these things from a week-to-week basis, week-to-week perspective. And to basically say, Sanchez is never going to be any good. You can't put anything on his shoulders. It's so stupid to judge a third-year quarterback. is so dumb, it's just dumb, it's asinine, it's so short sighted, and to be on television
02 Jake: and give your opinions and say things like, you can't, this is, Sanchez is never gonna be, fuck you, you know what, fuck you. Next year, the year after, we'll know if Sanchez could be quarterback where you can and say. handle it it's on you like a Tom Brady or or like you know a Ben Rolfsberger and Aaron Rodgers or when Manning is healthy that kind of quarterback but for now that's not what he is and that's not even what we're really asking him to be if we wanted him to be that or we're asking him to be that then the game plan would have to be to do that but it's not and it never is it's usually a run first game plan now I wanted I wanted the passing game, I was asking for it. That was my key, I wanted it. We got it, and it didn't work. Well, shit. They have Julian Edelman out there playing corner, and we can't get rid of the ball fast enough. Tom Brady has 329 yards. Mark Sanchez has 306. I think it's only his second or third 300 yard game of the season. Yeah, it was not a necessity though. I mean, he was just chipping the ball around at the end of the game. 51.3% passing. Like, just no good. Two interceptions. Can't win on interceptions. Not that that's the game. I mean, again, this was a game at the half where I looked at the scoreboard and like, with insight. Basically, if you look at it, it was 13-9 at the half. Okay, I'm okay with that. At the pass, 13-9, you're like, we're doing a good job. It's not 35-9 or 45-2, it's 13-9. We're within a touchdown. Granted, we had to give them the ball, they go down and score, and then they just kept scoring, and we couldn't come up with one more. I have one more exception, then let's get the fuck off this game forever. One negative and one positive. Well we have to pick our plays and fools of the game. I'm not putting a fucking play in the game. I have three plays I'd like to pick. Alright well you can pick all plays and then I'll pick all and then I'll throw everybody on the bus. Alright. But here's my one problem and I said this during the game and you were angry man you probably turned around and yelled at me and went gah gah gah. But I'm saying it again because it really pisses me off. At the end of a game when you're down by three touchdowns, okay, you're down by three touchdowns. We'll be right back. I think there should be only two things to do at that point. You either fucking just put the ball on the ground and stop playing or you play to win the game. Hello? No, I'm not going to do it. I was going to do the whole quote. And if you're going to play to win the game, there is a, it is a possibility in the realm of all things possible to win with three minutes, four minutes to go in the game. You're down by three touchdowns. Hasn't been done, I don't know, some statistician that we don't have on- We don't pay. We don't have a staff. We don't have a staff that can't run it out. But I'm sure that- What are you trying to get at? What I'm trying to get at, it was as someone who sits in the stadium and watches every fucking tick of the clock go down, who's being- is brutal to be at your own stadium and watch
03 Jake: the patch fucking kill you again and beat you again. Get to the point. That... at the end of the game with time left on the clock that I'm watching them dink and dunk down the fucking field to do something. I don't know what they're trying to do but they're like let's get a first down, let's run for three yards, let's run a 10 yard out. I am sorry but you either, if you if you want to win the game, there's only one way to win the game at that point. Chuck it down the field four times score touchdown kick it on side kick get the ball back chuck it down the field So you what you really were asking for and I remember our conversation Yeah, and I remember how stupid I thought it was You were asking for them to once you get to the 50-yard line throw for Hail Mary's. Yeah, that's it It's the only way to win that game. Okay Physically, you can't win the game with 10 yards out. That's what you want. That's what you want. Well, no. What I want them to do is either decide, are you playing to win the game or are you just trying to run down the clock by throwing 10 yards out? Because if you're trying to play the win the game, there's only one way to win it. It's only physically possible within time space to continue to win it. And that's you have to score three touchdowns in three minutes. And the only way to score three touchdowns in three minutes that I know of, you tell me if there's another way to do this, is... I'm pretty sure you can't win the game at that point. No, it's over. Well, kick... Tell me if this is impossible. Three minutes left, score a touchdown. Yes, it's impossible. Kick it on side, get the ball back. And then what? Score another touchdown. Throw another Hail Mary? Yup. Just Hail Mary after Hail Mary after Hail Mary. possible? No. Why not? Because you're not gonna score in Hail Mary's. But I'm not gonna score dinking ten yards on the floor. It's not like the plan was dink it. It's if a guy's open, throw it. If he's not, you gotta get rid of it because you're gonna get sacked. Hail Mary's. Fine. It's the only way to win a game. Good. You're right. Hail Mary. Thank you. You'll be down by three. I'm not saying you'll be down by one. Hail Mary. Yeah? You're right. Hail Mary, Hail Mary. Hail Mary. Throw it. So otherwise, fucking just kneel and just take and let's all go home. That's what I feel like they should do. Go ahead. You're three plays. Three plays. We're all worked up. Yeah, no good. Um, all right. So what were my three? I had three like turning point games where I thought that it got out of hand with some of these plays. Um... The first one was in the In the first quarter This sort of two plays that happened like very close to each other was where I thought San Antonio Holmes catch I Thought that was touchdown. He was running and he fell. I don't know if the ball was behind him I didn't see the replays of the game or anything like that where he had to stumble to catch it But I thought that was a touchdown Fine, they don't score a touchdown. They're in field range. Nick Volk misses a 20-something yard field goal You have to put points on the board and get ahead of the Patriots. You can't do that You can't give them these breaks. That's a turnover. That is a turnover
01 Jake: Yeah, that missed field goal at that point on the field is a turnover agreed. That's play number one Play number two and I was kicking my goddamn seat at the time when this happens. Calling that timeout at the end of the first half before we scored the touchdown with 17, 18, 19 seconds left on the play clock. Awful. At that point... Ryan says worst play. It was, it was. It was. And the guy two, and then when the Pats went down and scored the touchdown, went nine seconds left on the clock, I yelled about it again, and the guy two rows in front of me turned up and said, you're absolutely right. Like, it was so dumb. Like, why give, now there's, there's, in all fairness. If it was 17 seconds versus nine seconds, he probably would've scored anyway. Well... Less chance, I agree. We gave them 17 extra seconds, which changes a drive. Because if you're starting a drive with... They only needed 6 of them. Well... Well, that's a play. And you wouldn't have gotten it off. In all fairness, starting a drive with under 1 minute versus starting a drive with a minute 20 or a minute 15 is a different factor. A little bit. Now the Pats did go into half with a timeout in their pocket. So It's sort of null and void, right? Because they could have called the timeout at any point and stopped the clock They went in with the timeout in their pocket. They scored anyway, but still it looks like you gave them 18 20 seconds And they scored with nine left, right? You did maybe they kick a field goal, right? Maybe that maybe that drive is different I don't feel like that was a game changer. I thought it was big. I think that's just stupid Because we could have went in with the with because they were getting the ball at half So you basically give them back-to-back possessions with a chance to score. And they just score right after that, F? I don't think so, but still, it's that threat. And the third play was the Muff-Punt, which is again, a bad turnover, giving them the ball at the 20. You can't do that against the Pats. We don't turn them over, they turn us over. legitimately three times but illegitimately five times. Because of the missed kick and the and and and I mean it's just ridiculous. This actually brings me to a good point which is something that I don't know if all you listeners out there if you go and read the football outsiders yearly thing really good I think I mentioned this somewhere in them somewhere we're talking about not on the podcast which is that when you're evaluating teams from one year to the next There's certain things you can take and you can say if they're good on this year that they will be good next year. They're the same staff, they have the same quarterback, they have the same offensive, you know, the offensive defensive coaches, right? But there's certain things that do that statistically do not transfer from year to year. And one of those things, and I'll make the analogy that doesn't transform game to game, one of those things is luck. Is the way the ball bounces. Is that if you get turnovers that aren't turnovers like interceptions, right? They're turnovers where it bounces out, it bounces off someone's shoe, you know, that
04 Jake: type of crappy shit, like that just seems like some teams you get like three of them and you win the game and sometimes you get like four of them against you and you lose the game. They say that statistically it doesn't You can't train for it, you can't plan for it, you can't get good at it. There's nothing that you can do and there's no team that's ever taken that and brought it from year to year. It seems like the Patriots do. No they don't. It just seems like they do. They have games where it goes against them. It seems like they do though. But I feel like this is maybe the trend of this season so far that I'm not... kind of that I'm not excited about is that when we're winning we're we're winning off of those things sometimes a little bit too much not just being a dominant fucking team sometimes it's a little bit of the fumble fumble fumble I would actually I would say I disagree with that I think last year we won like three or four straight games in the fourth quarter all but they were offensive But one of their you with them were some of them were kind of crazy lucky Then you're then your point is great Then those things don't come and transfer to that this year where we don't get the crazy Please don't go our way and we start to lose more because of it. I agree I feel like it happens to the past though I feel like they take advantage of every break and I feel like they get a lot of them It's just the way I feel about so fuck the paths. Who's your user? Who's your fool of the week? It's gotta be... it doesn't even matter. Well, you were gonna... well who's yours? Because you had a... it's gotta be. Who's yours? No, you go first. No, it was Nick Volk. I was gonna... Really? Nick Volk from missing a kick? Alright. 20 yard field goal. You should've made it. You called it a turnover. I did. It is a turnover. It could be SuckChez. I was gonna say... well, I have a player, but... I'm picking the offensive line and the defensive line. The lines. We lost. There. We lost up front. We could not get to Tom Brady. They killed Mark Sanchez. I'm going to pinpoint to Bricshaw Ferguson for the first time I think ever on this podcast. We're playing an awful game. I just wanted to have a think. I've literally blocked this game out of my head so much that when you just mentioned that I'm like, oh yeah that fucking guy Nobody had like four and a half sacks. First off, Andre Carter's not a nobody. Nobody. No, he's not a nobody. I want to cross that out. Cuz Ray Lucas again calling you out asshole says I've never even heard of this guy and hey Ray He's been in the league since 2001 And he's had years where he's had 10 plus sacks two or three of them. Okay, so you should have heard of him He's a good player. He's got nine sacks this year granted four and a half of them just came But there's no one on the Jets with five sacks is there? I don't think so now so the guy's having a good year He had a great game. He's having a solid year for the paths and D brick should be better than that. He's an all-pro and he should be blocked. He blocks far better players than Andre Carter on a week-to-week basis and I feel like he, you know, kind of let us down. Just for two things, you know, Andre Carter, not to say you know this guy, you know, last year he
03 Jake: had a total of three sacks. Well how many of you the year before? Yeah 11, the year before that. four. Okay. Right. How many years of 10 plus has he had? One, two, three. Wow. Okay. But if you're gonna be in the league and you're gonna have 10 plus stacks three times, that's not a nobody. And he's got nine this year. So he's gonna do it again. I guess my argument is, I don't, he's not someone I think of on the Patriots, I guess. Like, well, they just got them by exactly well They had a Julian Julian Edelman playing corner in this game in this game. There was a receiver playing cornerback So the Pats are back apparently can we put they have wide receivers playing corner? Yeah, so they're back. They're gonna win a Super Bowl Yeah, can we put that behind us? Yeah, let's talk about injuries We left this game with a little bit less people than we started with which is not good No good We'll talk about it a little bit more when we get into tonight's game, but it looks like... or tomorrow's game. Curly, LT pool, and you're saying Turner? Yeah. Well, no more the Turner package. By the way, they busted the Turner package in this game. They did. They threw. They brought out Turner and they threw. They threw on the Turner package. They got sacked, but they threw. For nine weeks, they were setting people up. Setting people up with the Turner package. And you gotta catch, right? Yeah, I don't think any of those guys are gonna play. Uh, bit of an issue because Curly's About well, I'm kind of worried that our we don't have a slot receiver, right? Cuz right there. Yeah curly who is the slot receiver? You got LT who could play slot receiver and you got Turner who's the fourth receiver who could also play in the slot so Our third receiver coming up will be Iran Riley and I've never really heard of him and That's legitimate to say yeah, by the way, unlike not know he's not all started and I am guessing We'll see some Joe McKnight in the slot. Perhaps a lot of Dustin Keller. So An interesting offensive lineup we're gonna see. I'm surprised that they didn't go out to the waiver wire and grab a wide receiver just to have them on the roster. I mean some of these guys are special teamers too. And that does answer the question by the way of why Curly wasn't returning punts in that game because he did tweak himself on a part return, right? And therefore McKnight was back there and he fumbled. Because he's they you know, they've even said he's not a punt returner. He's a kick returner Right and went back to field upon it and muffed it. So then also begins to That's also my theory for why you don't put in valuable players back there Not the cool isn't about a player but like well, I've always maintained punt returning is far more dangerous than kick Oh, yeah, well you're returning. There's no danger You're running forward and you sort of control it. Puck or turn, you're waiting, waiting, standing still, waiting while people are going to be
02 Jake: about four yards from your face and you have to decide, am I going to catch this and run or am I going to just catch this? Other kingdoms, other stuff going on in the league? The Finns won. Yeah, Finns won. They won. The Bill of the... Awful bills look that I got like injuries got some big injuries out there got creamed Matt Chob out for the year We believe he is Matt Castle as well Matt Castle out the mats the Matt quarterbacks are out fucked Yeah, supposedly there's a lot of quarterbacks named Matt. Have you noticed this? I think there's like there's Matt Hasselbeck. There's Matt Castle. There's Matt Chob. There's Matt Moore. There's Matt Moore. There's uh, I know I'm missing like two or three more. Matt Stafford. Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan. That's six. Jesus. That's six out of 32 right there, and I'm sure there's more. Yeah, I I bet there is more and I was reading an article about this and they were looking back, they looked at the years and like when Matt was a popular boys name and it was these years, so they were saying the most popular boys name over the last couple years has been Jacob. Yeah. So they're saying like in 20 to 25 26 years from now. There might be a lot of Jacobs starting quarterbacks. Could be. Interesting. Little statistic there. Statistically on fantasy pick-up. How did we do last week? I beat you. I'm sure. You certainly did. I had the Jacksonville defense. You had the Jets defense. And the Jacksonville had 23 in our league. I think Jets went negative. Negative. Yeah, in fact, yeah, that's not good. Um, Jet Kingdom pick them, wanna go for it? Should we do it? Have we been doing the, uh, in the, in the throne picks last week? So last week I had... Well, the throne picks won't get the throne picks. Let's do Jekkink and Pick'em. Oh, I was just thinking, well, alright. Oh, I talked about Jekkink and Pick'em. So last week in Jekkink and Pick'em, which is where I pick every game except the AFC East against the spread. Right on. Um, or with the spread. That's all I have for you today. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe and share. See you next time. My wife who sent in Sarah who sent in her picks last week and I tried to imitate her did extremely poorly, well not extremely poorly but poorly for her. And the New York SAC Exchange had the win of the week with 12. He is now in the lead. That's pretty good. Yeah, I mean that was the week he needed. I think he surpassed Sarah. I'm in third place with eight for last week, but a total of 72. Am I still in last? You are still in last place, but you had your best week of nine. That's not bad. It's your best week. That's what's bad about it. Yeah, that's pretty good though. You've all said weeks of three, four, fours, five. Yeah, well that'll happen. Yeah, well that'll happen to you. You've never broke a double digit week. No, no, no, so okay. You're still sucking but yeah, let's go on so we're gonna pick the
00 Jake: All the non-afc each games again short week. It's a Wednesday. Some of these might be off Yeah, there is one one off for an injury purpose, but we'll get right down to it We're gonna skip the Thursday because we'll talk about that and don't talk about that in the throne pics And we're gonna hop right to Sunday at one o'clock where there's a barn burner of a matchup, Jacksonville going to Cleveland. And Jacksonville's favorite on the road. Because they won last week and Cleveland lost by missing a field goal at the end to the Rams. Both of these teams are terrible. This game should not be on television and it might not be. Give me the home dog. Give me Cleveland getting a point. Yeah, no, no, no, no. Give me Jacksonville. Jacksonville's D as I picked them and played them last week. Not Stutter Dad, but in my real fantasy league. They're very good. I don't think Cleveland's going to do a lot of... I think Jacksonville's going to score. I don't think either team's going to score. I feel like Jacksonville can do enough to win. I feel like this could be another 13-12. Jacksonville's also playing pretty well on the road. I'll take Jacksonville. Do you know that as a fact or are you just saying that? Yeah, I'm saying it. Okay. I'm not a broadcaster. I'm a fan. Detroit coming off of a brutal loss. uh in division again chicago tries to get back on track they are now six and three and they were five and oh i think they're six and three now they are six and three yeah they were five and oh so doing so much for detroit the division again a little soft so detroit's hosting carolina carolina is not good You know, they have Cam Newton and... This whole Cam Newton thing is like... I mean, he's nice, he's good. He's nice. And they... He's a nice boy. People have figured out that if you just take Steve Smith away completely, that you can kind of stop that team very easily in their tracks. They don't have a running game to speak of. No, other than Cam Newton. Other than Cam Newton. I think Detroit's gonna be hungry and angry at home and gonna win by more than seven points, which is the line Detroit by seven Yeah, the other thing is Caroline doesn't have a very good defense as was Shown by Tennessee last week. It was also not a great team, but was able to you know, kind of run score on them So I agree at home Detroit. I'll take Detroit Don't really love this like I like it a little bit less like it either but I don't take it right Oh, you're taking it. I did. All right, let me go. Maybe you can switch. All right, the unbeatable undefeated They just look amazing Green Bay Packers are home in Lambo taking on Tampa Who does not look very good at all not at all and this line is 14 and a half Green Bay is giving 14 and a half It could be 20 and I would take Green Bay. I would. I think they're gonna win by a lot. Like a whole lot. Tampa can't stop anything. They can't stop a nosebleed. They couldn't.
01 Jake: Uh yeah and for all those reasons I'm gonna take Tampa Bay. 14 and a half. It's too much. Green Bay's coming off a short week. I agree. They're the greatest things since sliced bed. The That's what I'm gonna pick Tampa Bay. All right, the old Bay of Pigs matchup. I'm moving right along. Oakland. heading to Minnesota after getting destroyed Minnesota got destroyed by the Packers Oakland beat up on San Diego and I feel for that reason the Raiders are favored by one and a half points here I don't think the Raiders are that good I don't think Carson Palmer is that good they cannot stop the run and if Minnesota can do one thing they can hand it to Adrian Peterson At home, give you the home dog again, Minnesota getting one and a half. I got two names for you. Go on. Carson Palmer. That's a name. Jared Allen. Yep. That's this game. Carson Palmer. Jared Allen. What do you think? Of that matchup, Jared Allen's gonna win. And all he has to do is take it away. They don't play against each other. playing more against their the left tackle of Oakland. It's when Jared Allen Shh, shh shh shh shh. Shh, shh shh shh shh shh. I think China hands lost it. I mean they've lost five games in a row. He's got nothing. Yeah, it's got nothing. Dallas is like... I don't know how they won those three games in the beginning of the year. And beat like I think a big team of two. They beat the Giants. I mean I know it's seven and a half and I mean Dallas coming off of them. big time demolishing of the bills. It's hard for me to pick Dallas seven and a half on the road, but Washington's just that bad. Give me Dallas. Yeah, Dallas can do two things. Roam was looking better and better. It's looking great. He actually traditionally is a good November quarterback. He had an Aaron Rodgers-like game. He was on... fire and they also have some they found something in this runner and DeMarcus Murray and
05 Jake: They can run they can run. I think watching, you know, Reggie, Reggie Bush score two touchdowns last week against Washington I think Dallas is gonna lay the smack down and I think they smell blood in the water and I think they're They're in a chance. I mean, what are they what's the record now? I think they're one I've been behind one game behind the Giants and they have to weigh them yet. No, they have no airplane twice This is a this is a big win for them. I think they're gonna win five more big game Speaking of big games. This is the big one our last one o'clock game Baltimore hosting Cincinnati and this is a huge game big division implications I feel like now our tune has to change as jet fans. We now need to root against Cincinnati. We need for them to fall off the purge. So last week it was root for them. When they had the chance to win the division and I think it's clear that they're not going to win the division. Pittsburgh or Baltimore is going to win that division. And I think Cincinnati is the team that could fall off. I think we have to root as Jeff fans for Baltimore here to beat Cincinnati. They're in Baltimore. The spread is seven Eyewitness, we witnessed firsthand what a Baltimore crowd could do to a young quarterback Give me Baltimore, Cincinnati hasn't played these good teams yet And they just showed you know, they hung with Pittsburgh, but they lost by seven and I think Baltimore is a little better. And that was in Cincinnati. So, give me Baltimore. Yeah, just everything in me says no. I think Baltimore win, but I don't think they're a high-powered offense. I don't think that they can do a lot. Since he does have a good defense, defenses do travel well. I think this will be a low game. I could see this being like a 13-12 or a 17-15 type game. Seven's a little bit too big for two teams like this that are really kind of basically based on on defense at this point. I see it being low scoring and so I'll take the seven with Cincy. I think both my wins though. Alrighty, um This could be the worst game of the week Challenging the Jacksonville Cleveland game. St. Louis is hosting Seattle at four o'clock St. Louis is favored by two and the fact that Seattle had that huge win at home last week over Baltimore leads me to believe that they're gonna lose on the road this week so give me St. Louis giving two points. Yeah I just I know what a feeling other than I'm gonna take St. Louis and I'll I think Seattle it just doesn't it's not gonna travel well Alright, next game is another, um, Barnburner. NFC West. San Francisco is hosting Arizona. And San Francisco coming off of a win against the Giants. Uh, San Francisco's giving 9 and a half.
00 Jake: I feel like that's a little much. I don't feel like San Francisco really beats teams up. I feel like they win. They'll win by like 7. that won by six. They won't win by nine and a half. So give me Arizona who just went on the road and beat Philly and knocked me out of my survivor pool. Sorry about that. Hate them. That's really terrible. I hate Philly. I hate this amazing game. Fitzgerald had a great game. John Stilton to the rescue. Who would have known? so give me Arizona again yeah just the point I don't give me the point I don't even like that I'm following you on this one but I want to take Arizona all right we have Atlanta and this is the start of the 415 games Atlanta is hosting Tennessee so it looks like CBS is gonna have the doubleheader this week because both of these games are gonna be on CBS so give me Here we go, Atlanta hosting Tennessee giving six. These teams are both so up and down so hard. So I'm just going to take points. Give me Tennessee. Yeah, I'll take Tennessee. Chris Johnson, I wouldn't say he's back, but he showed some life last week. Everybody did it mostly in the fourth quarter. here. when they already beat up on them. But I don't know, there's something about Tennessee that seems to be sticking it in games. So I'll take the Milan. Both these teams are so inconsistent. So who really knows? The last 415 game. I picked this one without looking at the line. Yeah. I just looked at it and I'm like, I'm picking. I don't care what's on it. This is like the one you said. I said, I don't care what's on the line. Then I looked at the line and I'm like, oh, that's ridiculous. Yeah, Chicago's hosting San Diego and giving 3 and 1.5. Yeah. they should probably be giving more like six and a half just because they're a far superior team. San Diego still gets this This credit or some respect for what I don't know. I'm not sure at this point I think they've proven that they don't deserve it at this point Give me Chicago. They're they're looking really tough right now. Yeah, I'm taking Chicago again I looked at it. I didn't look at the line as planned. Yeah, Chicago Chicago at home against. Oh, yeah, you're you're going down All right, San Diego's in their slide again. I'm watching that game. You know, I watched the Oakland San Diego game last week and Thursday night just stunned. And if anybody can sit back there and just whip it down the field, that's J-Color. Not that they're gonna do that, they're gonna put ground and pound them, but J-Color can do that. Right on. Really? Just give me a right on? Right on. Fucking right on, man. Sunday night, Sunday night, Sunday night. Another game at the Meadowlands. We will be there. I know. At Life Stadium, my first giant game. I've never been to a giant game, been to... 50 or probably more jet games. Never been to a giant game, old stadium or new stadium. This is my second, this year! That's pretty crazy. So I'm going to my second game. I will...
00 Jake: There's one thing I'm actually hoping about this game, and I know this is sort of a bad way to put this, but the game on Thursday, if the game on Thursday goes well, this game's going to feel enjoyable because this is going to be fun, watching a fucking matchup. If the game on Thursday goes badly, I'm gonna be sitting there like fuck. I'm just gonna be pissed, I'm gonna be pissed as fuck, and I'm gonna be like, this is our stadium, like everything's just gonna feel like this cloud over it. Right. So we'll get to the Thursday game, we'll get to the first game last, but like, that's my feel like this. I hear ya, so it's off right now, cause I don't know if... Michael Vick is playing or not. This is this is a war of attrition these two teams like they're losing everybody Yeah, I mean I mean just running backs wide receivers Quarterbacks like it's a war of attrition. I don't think Philly's losing. I mean they're not going and and and Vic Macklin and maybe your number one receiver and your number one quarterback I don't know it seems like like giants have lost way more players than that. Yeah, they always lose more players than that So this game's off, so while it's off I'm just gonna pick the Giants. Although I don't really feel all that confident about it because the Giants already beat the Eagles in Philly. Philly just looks so bad that I can't pick them. I just think that Philly's well losing Macklin's big for them. DeShawn Jackson has done nothing. They've got McCoy left. That's it. Then they're tight end maybe they got McCoy. Yeah anything I think I think the Giants are good stopping the run Not so great at the pass. So I think Vic he's he's one or two hits like he's literally at that point He's broken ribs concussions like his elbow his whatever. He's one or two hits if nothing else I think they'll just send someone to hit him very hard and fucking give him a 15 year penalty Like I won't be on and then I got turned to We're gonna turn to young we will see young in this game That's my prediction and then it's gonna turn to a shit show that guy can't play way to go out on a limb All right. Well, I'm predicting and got the quarter. I see it knocked out and we're gonna see the second player All right, I'm gonna go out in there Guys got broken ribs. I bet we'll see the back up. All right let's move on to the throne picks if you were cuz the Monday night game is a is a AFC East battle, or at least includes an AFC East team. So let's start with that one, Kansas City in New England. The line is New England's favored by 14 and a half. I picked the final score to be 31-17 with the back door cover. So I'm gonna actually pick Kansas City in the pickle. Oh, so you're doing, are you doing thorn picks? I'm doing throne picks, but I'm telling you what I'm doing in the pick-up because I'm picking a score and just giving you the line. Oh, okay. Yeah, I mean... So I just did my throne pick. I feel like New England's gonna crush them. 31-10. Back to recover at the end. 31-17 final. Yeah, I'm picking KC as well. I think they're gonna crush them, but I actually picked it as 31-21.
04 Jake: I think they'll come in. It could be 30-14 and then it'll be a 14-1. Tight it maybe they'll actually be trying to win the game. They'll just hook it down the field and bowl pull it in for a touchdown Probably not. All right There's an AMC East Rivalry, here we go Buffalo is traveling to Miami Buffalo's falling apart. I'm happy to see it. Yeah, looks like Buffalo is back Yeah, he texted me that and I thought he meant to say they were like winning, but no they're not winning. I like to see that Buffalo is back. This is so odd. You have a team in Buffalo that's 5 and 4. Yeah. Right? And we're... what were they? 3 and 0? 3 and 0. Yeah. And they're 2 and 4 over their last 6. Well, Miami's also 2 and 4 over their last 6. So it's an interesting little match up. I feel like Buffalo gets a little bit of the mojo back and wins an ugly game 17 to 13. By the way, Miami is favored in this game by two and a half just in case anyone was wondering. You know, I think, I think Miami will first of all, maybe one at home. Yeah, they want to have the shnide. They did. They got the shine. Can you win two in a row at home though? I don't think so. I think that they're just playing with that sort of like that weird thing you get when you know you suck but you just feel like you just can't suck this hard. I have this weird thing. I think Miami's going to do fine. I think Buffalo is kind of coming down to they are Buffalo. They are Buffalo. So I feel like this is a they are Buffalo game. I'm thinking Miami. 2318 to win the game. All right. Help us out. Now let's rewind and go back to Thursday. Yep. Back to Thursday night, which is tomorrow night, where the New York Jets will take on the Denver T-Bos. Yes. Yes. Yep. And the game of the week Not the game of the century or the millennium this one's gonna be ugly and When we went into this four game stretch Coming off of our bye. Yep, where there are four very important games. Yes buffalo New England, Denver, Buffalo. I had said I want to win three. I didn't really care which three, but I really wanted to win the AFC East three and lose this one. I thought I wanted to lose, I just figured we're gonna go three and one and lose four. I still think we can go three and one in those four and I still think that's a good outcome because you end up seven and four. Right. With five games left, which is in a good place to be. Okay. Now, not to go back on that, but by the way, we're still one game behind them. We're like one and a half or two games behind them, but it's not out of the realm of possibility
02 Jake: that we still can't win the division. No, it's not. And everyone has written it off. All the broadcasters out there have written it off. Not this guy. Not this guy. Not this guy. This guy here saying, it's one game. So no one comes out of Lays and Egg again. It's Kansas City. See? And we win, and all of a sudden we have the same record again. Ipso facto ridiculous. Fuck them. Anyway, I still think we're going to win three out of those four, which would mean we'd have to win this one. Yep. Um, I don't even think it's close, to be honest. I don't feel as if Denver can will or can do anything against our defense. I don't feel as if they're gonna be able to run this bullshit offense that they're running throw the ball eight times Run the ball 50 times and go anywhere against us. We're gonna have the right personnel in the field Granted, it's not what we're built necessarily to do We are more built to stop the pass stop the paths, which is a passing offense We're built to have Reavis and Cromartie Out there covering guys, but what that what that does is We're used to having guys out on islands, right? And guess what? They're gonna be out on islands because everyone else is gonna be stuff in that box There's gonna be guys on the edges not you know being disciplined I'm sure there'll be a player to where Chibo does the the the draw or the that fake Option right and catches us once or twice around the edge, right? Fine, but as long as it's not consistent, we're gonna stuff the middle with the big fatty Yeah, I'm gonna stuff the middle with the big boys DeVito Puah Mo Kendra gals will probably be active for this game as well Travis. Oh, I don't think either of them We're active for the paths because you don't really need them necessarily be a couple less DBs They're gonna stuff that running game up eight Nine in the box at times because really does Rivas need any help against Decker with T-ball at quarterback No, he doesn't know will Cromartie need any help against whoever that second receiver is No, he won't There will be a lot of guys in the box. I can't see this thing working against the Jets I feel like the Jets defense is too Too smart and too good for this hokiness to work against them. Those are all great reasons. I have a score. But here, give me a score. My score is 31-10. What's your Keys to Castle? Just shutting that- Just win, baby. Just win, baby. Uh, just shutting this hokie shit down. In the first half, if they run the ball 20 times for 20 yards, great. Because that's what you want. You want them to have to get into a passing game. And once that happens, it's over, Johnny. Because once Tebow has to beat you with his arm and not with his legs, just keep him in the pocket. You don't even have to sack him, just keep him in the pocket. Don't let him move around.
01 Jake: I agree. I'm gonna do a little bit more pessimistic. I'm gonna pick the Jets to... Wait, no, what the fuck am I talking about? But, um... I see your score. That's not that pessimistic. No, but no, it's that I'm starting the pessimism of all the things against us. This is a bounce back game. This is the worst part of our schedule in terms of actual timing. We play our division champs, or the division champs, the guys who are like our big brothers who always beat us. the fuck up on us. We played our regular season Super Bowl on Sunday night and then at midnight whatever go home catch the night and then you're on the road and then go to Denver. Denver's got the mile high thing, it's got the air quality thing, it's got the short We can't even really prepare for this team. Like, I'm sure they did... I don't know. Like, if you're the coach, are you even doing any preparing the week before? Or are you focused 100% on the Patriots? You're focused 100% on the Patriots. So like, I feel like this is like a, oh shit, and you even heard it in the interviews, it's like, you know, how's that whole Patriot? Oh, you guys sucked about the Patriots and doesn't it suck to lose them? You'd be like, listen, we've got no time to even think about losing that game. This is four seconds after the game ended. They're like we got a game to play in four days, which is just unheard of It away so it means we got to travel so all of that is like why it's making so I think this is two games And I can't decide which one it is my heart will go one way But like I can totally see us shutting this team out I can literally see a shutting them out and not having them score anything And like Sanchez will be on for enough to do 17 points worth or 14 points. You know, 14-0. 17-3. I could totally see that game. Yeah, and look what they did to Jackson though. Right. I could totally see that game. So my gut and everything is saying... I think you had the key and you went you went the key to defense I'll do the key to offense the key obvious sense, you know again, they have a defense, you know, that's not you know They've got some playmakers. They got that new rookie linebacker who's really bomb Miller I'm gonna have champ Bailey on the outside right probably matched up against right. He's all game. Yep And they have Elvis Dumerville, I think he's playing on a defensive line. So it's not like this is going to be an easy walk in, walk down the field type of thing. We're going to need to take advantage of the stuff. One of the things that bugged me in the Patriots game, just remembering, out of the fog of anger, there were two picks. That didn't happen. That should not happen. One crow is a little high, but should have pulled it in. The other one was Wilson in his fucking breadbasket. Like, take that to the house. Right? I'm going to take it to the house. It was at like the 10. Our 10. So those things, we can't let that happen. We get those balls, we got to take them. Because I don't think we're going to do a lot on offense. I feel like it's too short a week. I feel like with all the injuries we talked about before, I don't feel like this is going to be a great offensive game. We can be sitting at half at 6-0. I actually disagree wholeheartedly.
01 Jake: I feel like the short week helps. Which is something we'll get in your mind. There's no overthinking. It's go out and play. And there's no overthinking the game plan. There's no cute bullshit. You got injuries, you got base personnel, you're going to go out there and you're just going to play our straightforward offense. It's not going to be any trickery, any game plan, this game plan that. It's going to be very back to basics and simple and I think that's when they do their best. And the thing that I would predict or say that you gotta do, gotta get Keller involved. He's gonna get involved because there's no one else to throw the ball to. Right, no one else to throw the ball. And I think there's gonna be a safety in this game. It's gonna be against Timmy. TONAAAY! And so I'm calling it 25-13. That does mean they score a touchdown. Yeah, I'm scoring a touchdown too. Could be a garbage touchdown, but I'm saying 25-13, Jets win, get this over with, get a nice 13 days then to then prepare for the Bills, which I feel like are going in the right direction. We actually started them on that direction, which is nice. And I feel like we clean them up and then we go into the next part of this season, where we got some. Not cake, but we got some stuff like Casey, Miami, Philly, not looking like the team that they were. So, let's get this game going. I can't wait to watch this game. How did you do last week with the picks? Last week I had Buffalo defeating Dallas. I was absolutely fucking wrong. I had Miami defeating Washington. I was absolutely right. And I had the Jets beating New England. I was absolutely fucking wrong. I Went I went two for three you went one for three. I went two for three. Yeah, I had Dallas. Yeah, I had Dallas beating Buffalo My stutter dead last week. I think we already covered was Jacksonville Jackson, what are we doing? Category we're both think I'm picking a running back. All right. I'm picking shady McCoy fucking Slim Shady. Shady McCoy. I'm going, okay running back. I love that nickname Shady. What a great nickname. Demarcus Murray. I don't think that's his name. What is it? No, it's a Murray. Demarco. I'm like Demarco Polo Murray D-Murry from the guy who picked Joe Forte a few weeks back. Exactly. D-Murry from the Cowboys. All right. Cowboys RB. How's that? All right. You got it. The Cowboys running back. All right. The Cowboys are not choice. The other one is actually good. The one who's actually no longer on the team. It's actually correct. That's it for the podcast. Again, if there's a big win, we might be back on Friday to us. Hopefully there's a special Friday podcast where maybe we can recount that. Otherwise, maybe we'll do a Monday. If it's good, we'll probably be a little hoarse because we'll be at the Giants game. I'm not going to yell too much at the Giants game. Oh, I just yell because I like to yell.
01 Jake: That's basically my theory on life. Till then, go to JetKingdom.com, follow us on Twitter, JetKingdom and Just JetKingdom. Go on Facebook. We're getting a lot of conversation going on on Facebook. It's great. Facebook.com, guys, JetKingdom. Like us there and then post as we post. It's fun. We're also, I think I built this a Google Plus page the other day. Really? For JetKingdom? Yeah, maybe I did. I don't know. I got to figure it out. That's pretty cool. I think I did and I tweeted it. And that's it until next week and as we say every week for the last 129 times that's a lot of fucking podcasts. Go Jats!
