09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Jake: The longest running of the year, just podcast on the entire interwebs aka the internet. I'm Jake and joining me for the 125th time, but maybe might be his last. You never know. What? Yeah, it could be your last time. Shut your face. Is Justin Justin. How are you doing? I'm doing awesome. Double podcast week that means we won. That's why I'm doing so awesome. Awesome. some. So we have a big agenda today. We're going to talk about our final thoughts on the Chargers game. We'll do our town choir segment where we talk about news. We'll talk about some other kingdoms. And then we'll talk about our Fantasy Kingdom, Jet Kingdom Pick'em, Make Our Throne Picks, and then hit up some tweets at the end. Lots of stuff. So hang in there because I got some tweets today. About me? Yeah, a few of them. Oh, that's cool. Yep, so let's... Let's get going to start it all off with final thoughts on the Chargers game. I actually rewatched it today. I was able to watch it. It was on NFL replay Tuesday night. Is it on? It's the NFL replay on Tuesday night. Did it make, not the other show? That's tonight, I don't know. Oh, okay. It's on tonight. And how was it? Was it good? I watched the whole game. Yeah, no I know, but what thoughts? So I'm watching the game, broadcaster, let's get some thoughts. Apparently I'm not a very good broadcaster. You just sit there. Apparently. Yeah, they don't sit there looking stupid. Flyball. Give me some information. They don't call them the best color man in the league, folks. You know, they looked a lot better on television than they did in person actually. The running looked great. There were holes everywhere. I'll say that. The one touchdown that they gave up to Gates was a mishap. You get a lot more when you watch it on TV than the one chance you get to see it live when you're there. What's fan vision? Like 6 champs as well. Yeah, when the Chargers score we don't look at the fan vision. That was a little bit of a mistake. Eric Smith went inside, Shudah went outside, Gates just snuck behind him. and basically the Jets made Phil Rivers look really bad in the second half. In the second half, I mean the first half, they were pretty well doing what they wanted and in the second half they couldn't do a thing and the Jets defense was just all over the place. Reavis had a great game, Kyle Wilson had a nice game.
00 Jake: uh... from our even and i think i mean they they played really really well nothing more to say they just played great uh... what's the first is the show versus now what's it called uh... uh... turning points i i have to believe it will be one of the games cuz i did watch uh... what's the one on showtime the inside the nfl last night and there weren't a whole lot of good tight games this week? for them to actually show on that versus show. You really need tight games to show, to include turning points. Right. So most of them are blowouts. Yeah, there are a lot of blowouts. I mean, I could see them including the Minnesota Green Bay game, just because it's a rivalry game and it was tight. Or Minnesota was winning in the beginning. Um... I have to imagine that the Jets Chargers game will be on it. I don't know where to find that information Yeah, I mean it ought to be on the versus channel guide whatever Versus channel I will try to look that up. Yeah, I don't know where to find it, but it should be on there and and You know, I should say it was a really good win going into the bye week I weeks always a little depressing cuz I don't know I and wish they just never would have a buy. But I will also say the Chargers are, I mean that whole division is really not very good. No, not very good. Oakland's on its way down. I had my Oakland rant. If you want to hear my Oakland rant, download the previous podcast because I went off on Oakland and how we had to... play them when we played them and not when they have Carson Noodlearm polymer throwing the ball around. There you go. My thought was that the one thing, I mean, two things I saw in the game that I was kind of like, one was that first was the Dustin Keller interception or whatever was stripping or whatever that was. What happened was Sanchez was hit really hard. Connor blew a block. And the ball did not come out right. It was wobbling. It wobbled like a duck to Keller. Keller was running ahead. He saw the ball. He then slowed down and then caught it behind him wobbling. So like, I think if... If Sanchez hadn't gotten hit, the ball would have been three feet ahead of him and not four feet behind him. He would have caught it and whatever. Well, I don't think he would have even thrown the ball to Keller if he had time. Because I don't even know if Keller was necessarily open. Yeah, I mean he wasn't... Like that was the check down throw. Right. He's getting pressure. He has to get rid of it. It wasn't like a... And again, Keller, I don't give Keller any problem because he literally is catching this thing from behind him and he's trying to bring it in and the guy just... It was a weird call as a fumble because here's why like if You know the ball never hit the ground granted, right? It's got it's either a fumble or an interception, right? Can't be I said well it could be because the ball never hit the ground So so I question that Keller even caught it right like if that ball hits the ground
04 Jake: Why does it cross his balls that ball hits the ground? I'm not sure that they call it a fumble. I actually feel like they would have called it an incomplete pass. Which leads me to say that they probably should have called that an interception because I don't think Keller actually caught it. Like if the guy goes in, strips it, strips it, but doesn't hold onto it, hits the ground first. I don't think they call that a fumble. Justin: Yeah, I don't know. Jake: But you would have to if you're calling it a fumble. So, I don't know, I was glad I played Sanchez in fantasy this week, because I had a bye week situation and picked up Sanchez and you got it. You got it in the situation with Fitzgerald, but okay. Well, I had a bye week situation. My starting quarterback was not available. and my backup quarterback. was non-existent. So I had to go pick one up. I grabbed Sanchez and I ended up winning by like two and a half or three points. So if that was an interception I would have won by like half a point. Right. So and if Sanchez hadn't thrown three touchdowns, he would have lost. So Sanchez won me the week. So one other thing, um, the... fuck you Baltimore and your suck Chezz. They have, they have a... You have your own suck Chezz. Fuck though. You have a worse suck Chezz. The guy, um, the, the catch that everybody didn't think was a catch in the stadium, going back on it, there was no doubt that ball was always covered and never hit the ground. Totally caught it. Totally caught it. Everyone's yelling and I'm sitting there like, why would you challenge something if you know you're gonna lose? I thought he should've challenged it. I still think he should've challenged it. No, you're gonna lose. Unless they didn't write. And the guy came back from the bathroom, the guy who sits near us, he's like, they're yelling on the radio that he didn't catch it. Challenging. He himself didn't even see it. So like, you can't have an opinion. I saw it a couple times on fan vision. It did look like it touched the ground from the different angles, but looking at it in high depth. Granted, fan vision is a six-inch, not high def... Not high def... It is high. Yeah, but it's... Yeah. It is short, but it's not. All right. So those are my those are the thoughts anything else? Uh, no, I thought I thought that that was actually the most complete Jet game of the season. I'm hoping it's 21 Points 14 on defense. Yeah, I thought it was their most complete game certainly their best second half Unless you count like the that Cowboys fourth quarter, which was a good fourth quarter, but this is the most complete game They ran the ball Really well, it's set up some really nice throwing plays You know you forget that there was a holding call on a mangled that called back another touchdown Oh, it was a real holding call. I watched yeah, it was yeah He tackled a guy, but he really pulled him down That was a great play nice throw nice catch and that after that throws an interception which you know just to I mean You were saying oh it threw into double coverage sorta There were two guys, but they weren't like they were both like plaques beat them both. He was past them
04 Jake: He didn't throw it. He didn't do it. Yeah, well throw that to the throw that to the pile on right And it's either a catch or an incompletion. He threw it short He threw it short like he was double covered fine, but he beat him both like plaques beat both guys So he didn't throw into double coverage. He just He threw into single coverage because he had beaten the second guy completely. He just under threw it a little. He had to throw it. Yeah, and it was, yeah, he should've, he has to understand plaques, 6'5". 5'5", throw to the pylon, where he threw it, where he doesn't cover it, he should've thrown it over and to the top. And again, no one would've caught it or plaques would've caught it. Alright, so um town crier segment got some little bit of news coming out. Yeah, what's this state classy, San Diego? So you stay classy, San Diego. Stay classy. This is where the The what happened here? This is the tight end came out saying that the other tight end I can't remember. McMichael? Yeah, he came out saying that the Jets are no good. Really? Defense is no good. Really? Yeah defense no good Yeah, and so when they asked about it. They scored all those points. Rhett's about it, he said. Stay classy, San Diego. Ah, no lie. The other thing I actually picked up, I really want to talk about this, or at least read them off. Oh yeah, I read this. This is good. This is a lot about Sanchez regressing, and actually a lot of quarterbacks regressing. I've worked with Josh Freeman now who's regressing. There's a lot of them not doing as well. This was my rant from about three weeks ago, where I said, I don't like the fact that Sanchez gets lumped in with. the guys from his draft class Stafford and Freeman and always gets put below them always as well as flack Oh Ryan and Bradford where What have these guys done? Right? Those ones to playoff games Ryan went 13 and 3 in the regular season last year but lost So I have some stats. Back it up. A guy who bought out some stats. This is not mine. Where is this? This is the SNY Y guys. Is this from SNY, like Sports Network New York? There's three sets of stats. If you're going to look at three different stats on a quarterback and say, are they getting better or getting worse? These are three good stats. These are good stats. So the TD Intersection Ratio. 2009, 12 TDs, 20 picks. 2010, 17 TV's, 12 picks. Better. Progressing. 2011, 12 TV's so far. Half season. 7 games. 6 picks. Progression. So that's progression. QB rating, 2009, 63, then 75, 3, then 83. Progression. Progression. Completion percentage. Improvement. Completion percentage while it's not moving up as high. If people were saying he should be at the 60% level at this point. It went 53 8 54 8 55 8 so he's moved up a point each year so far now We could see that go right more, but I think all those three things so far prove That he's doing better now not in the yards would also be higher He didn't have yards, but I would say those would be higher as well
01 Jake: Yeah, I imagine he's been throwing the ball more this year. I mean in that he's thrown as many TD's in the first, you know seven weeks of the schedule That you know he threw in the entire 2009 and that he's on pace to break what he did last year You know, that's that's good. I call progression. Yes call progression. Now. These other guys are regressing now Now why people say that you know and in this in this example, he's actually citing pro football talk. If I think it's an NBC property. We're heavy on NBC. Yeah that well this is SMY that one's on NBC but you know they they put these young quarterbacks taking steps backwards and they they talk about Freeman, Matt Ryan, Sanchez, Bradford, and Flacco. They don't even mention Stafford. And there's a reason cuz Stafford never fucking plays. All right, this is his first year where he's actually been Playing every game through the first seven and you know what? He didn't finish last week's game He got hurt and you might not play this week. He may he may not And you know what since Game one to game seven he's regressed. He's gotten worse over the course of this season right from game one to game seven Now that's all you can really judge him on because he didn't play last year and he really didn't play the year before he's played Like I don't know maybe combined one full season at this point through his first three I would say though that Flacco has certainly regressed. Matt Ryan has certainly regressed. This is the eyeball test. I don't look at their numbers, but I imagine their numbers are down. And Bradford has certainly regressed from a rookie to a second year. Sort of unfair to him because it's a completely different system that he's running now than he did last year. So you come in as a rookie, you have to learn this new system. You get up to speed on it and by the end of the year you're the one who's pretty proficient. And then year two, you don't have the time to work on anything in the off season and there's a brand new system for you where you're just a second year quarterback. Like I think of Sanchez as still just a third year quarterback. He is. Next year is when I'm like, alright, this is Mark Sanchez. I still think of him as he's still growing. Next year I want him to be and that's why it's a little disheartening to see for Atlanta and Baltimore fans what Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are doing because golly you gotta I know I said golly. Did you just throw golly at me? Don't swear at me like that. You gotta feel like like Like, Joe Flacco's just not... I mean, same old Ravens, right? Like, maybe he's gonna have Trent Delphard playing. There's an inverse relationship between their offense and defense. Totally. They never can get right. And I don't know if it's just... if it just feels that way or if it's statistically true, but it seems like... Man, they just had an awful game against the Jaguars. Oh, yeah. Miserable. One touchdown, one drive. Couldn't get Ray Rice going. He didn't even have a first down in the first half.
01 Jake: Yeah, no first downs in the v- It was like how we played against them. I'll take our first four and outs and then finally a going, but he never really- Well, the only difference is their defense scored two touchdowns. Jacksonville didn't score on defense, otherwise that game would have been on the blowout. He said one touchdown and a thing in three games, and that's black out. I don't understand. where that game plan came from but Ray Rice ran the ball like eight times. Yeah. How do you do that? Fumbled ones. So what? Yeah well on the other side MJD fumbled MJD fumbled three times. Yeah it was crazy. He was fumbling like... only lost one I think but he lost two. An important one. He lost two of the three. No. Because the third one... He lost one. I know this as a fact. Yeah because you have a status. That's right. Alright. I know this is fast. Alright, my brain is like a... is like... It's like a steel trap. It's like a... It's a steel trap for football. It's like a thing that... Alright, Pro Bowl is out. Pro Bowl voting? Yeah, it's out. For real? Yeah, it's this week. Good job for your steel trap mine. Wow. Apparently can't read. I have one jet. Just one you'd pick for the football one? Just one. We're gonna get three. I feel like we're gonna get three but there should only be one. No we're gonna get two that are really legit we'll get another one that's that's like through seven games one. Well previous but it you previous but through seven games I'm saying with the private with Pro Bowls next three weeks of voting so I have a couple more games You gotta give it to Mangold. He is still one of the games. Yeah, but when he leaves, when he's there, we do well. When he leaves for three games, we lose all three. They cut that guy back. And when we come back, he then wins two. So I think his value on that line is huge. He's also being contention. D-Brick, David Harris... Justin: I think Kamardi. That's probably it. Did Kamardi get in there? No, no, I don't think so. Jake: I think his numbers get skewed because everyone's throwing at him. So when you all get- Sean Green, no. Sanchez, no. No. None of the receivers. I don't think Keller gets in. On the line, maybe D-Brick. On the defense. Reavis for sure I think David Harris might get it. Leonard gets the name recognition? No, no. I think that's it. You might look at special teams you know Joe McKnight if he has if he continues to return the way he's returning he's leading the league. Yeah. In return yards. It's all name recognition so I feel like no one knows Joe McKnight's name. Yeah with special teams sometimes they go well Devin Hester will make it in the NFC. But that's the I don't know. But he's actually but try them. Alright, so other kingdoms, stuff's going on in Miami. Miami is officially shopping for head coaches again. Apparently they talked to... They're really talking to head coaches without firing this guy. They did that last year. Why doesn't he just quit? Because I don't think he quit. I think because I think if you quit,
01 Jake: you give up the $3 million they owe you. And if you stay. Oh, it's like a real job. Yeah. Like you should get fired. We could just stop really caring. Everyone's coming off a buy and it's actually so is Buffalo. So we'll talk about them later. Everyone's going to Pittsburgh. Yeah, we'll talk about that. That's awesome. So, Fantasy Kingdom. Yeah. How'd you do last week? I won, how'd you do? Did not win you lost. Oh wait. Oh, you're in our league. Oh, yeah, we got one. I'm three and four You're five and two now. I'm five and two and you're going up right the way I'm going up against the second place team in the league second place team Yes, there were some breakout stars last week DeMarco Murray big pickup on the way of the wire. I tried Try it as well if you got them then That was good for you. You know, just a side point, in our league there's been some... First time, first year doing the league, for me, but there's someone complaining about the parity of the league and saying that the people at the top were guaranteed to win for years to come or whatever. And I think, you know, the waiver wire process is actually what helps parity. Because here, if you're paying attention, so the guy who won last week, hadn't won all year, he picks up DeMarcus Murray and then wins with him because of him. And he's now got a guy that you know, he could ride for a couple weeks I don't know if this could be the other guy. So I think I think the parody thing is is good Because you actually have the shot to pick up these guys But anyway, so yeah, well last week so some studs Aaron Foster was a stud and a half He had a hundred receiving and a harbinger rushing scored three touchdowns So that's just an insane game drew breeze. I mean they put out 60 something points He only played three quarters and he still put up 325 yards and five touchdowns five touchdowns four incompletions. That's a hell of a game Yeah, if you can do that, you're gonna win a couple other guys DeMarco Murray We mentioned Cam Newton continues to be phenomenal Tim Tebow Great fantasy quarterback. I'll take them as my fantasy starting quarterback Don't really want them as my real quarterback, but I'll take them as my fantasy quarterback I'm coming up and you know what in our scoring Number nine Mark Sanchez number nine number nine highest. Yeah, so I mean Fifth or sixth highest quarterback, but still in the top ten scoring overall mark Sanchez with his three touchdowns 173 yards three touchdowns ran for another 25 that helps a little bit for the quarterback so All in all a good week. I don't why don't I see Burris anywhere? Where's Burris there? He is his you didn't really have a lot of yards, but he scored three touchdowns So that's a pretty good week from him and last week our starter dud we faced off with tight ends I took Jimmy Graham who had Six catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns you took Dustin Keller who had like 50 something yards Oh, I know how to take Jimmy Graham now. I forgot you took him. No, you can take Jimmy Graham
00 Jake: I can take him now and I can take guys you've taken. Okay, we just can't take guys I'm glad I took him this week. Two touchdowns and good week. He's up against the crap team this week So he should be against the Rams this week. Ah, gotcha. So he should be able to score. It's a good week to take him I would say. Um, and all right. Well, uh, who you gonna take this week? Well after a lot of debating, I mean we I think I've gone through All the positions at this point. I'm now filling out I've gone two running backs two quarterbacks And I'm now this will be my second tight end. So you're second tight end. Yeah, so you're doing another tight end Yes, do I have to do another tight end or can I just make go for it? Whoever I want you have you have one lot you have two wide receivers you One running back, two running backs. You need another wide receiver at this point. I need another wide receiver. I can pick another quarterback, right? I've only picked one. So I have a quarterback in mind that I'd like to take this week. Do it, take him. Give me Cam Newton. Give you Cam Newton, all right. I think he's gonna have a great week this week. I think he's in the spot of where he's gonna have a Fallout week. Well, I feel like he's had it. Like, I feel like this guy is like, he's playing against Minnesota at home. I feel like that's a big week for Cam Newton. Good. Oh, you take Cam Newton. Alright. Uh, let's move on. Where are you taking him? I didn't say. I didn't say. Give him a gram. Actually, it wrote down without seeing that you were taking him last week. So, I was with him this week. So, I was like, I need to fill out my tight ends. He's the number one tight end. He's playing as a crappy team. Yeah, he's awesome. They should light him up. as well. I have sprulls on my team and I'm enjoying the sprulls. He is unbelievable. Very good. For a guy who's like you know supposed to be just as flex play he's dominating. Just to bring it full back a lot of people are saying that San Diego it's what they're missing it's a little Darren Sprulls. That's what they're missing. They're missing Darren sprulls disease He's a matchup nightmare and he's clearly better than Reggie Bush. Yeah, oh yeah. Like, 100%. It's not even close. Not that it was the worst, worst, worst pickup for the Dolphins ever. Not the chance to get Darren Sproles, but... Well, it's not like Darren Sproles is like this awesome running back. He's got a niche and he plays that position extremely well. It's the position that. We've asked Le'Danein Tomlinson to play this year, and he's just a little older than Darrin Sproul, also a former Sandio running back. They had them both in their backfield. Sandio's had a lot of good running backs over the years. Michael Turner, Darrin Sproul, Le'Danein Tomlinson, Tolbertin, and... And Matthew's right now, thank you. A lot of good running backs out of that system. All right, so the point was more Reggie Bush was like a can't miss top three draft pick. And I think Sproles may have not even been drafted. college maybe like a seventh round six round peg like it's amazing that here's the sky Reggie Bush who did what Darren Sproles is doing in the pros in college
01 Jake: love to compare Sproles' numbers to Reggie Bush's in the same offense and we'll see like a year oh it's nice and close Reggie Bush never had a year like Darren Sproles is having right now yeah all right so let's get to our we did our fantasy kingdom let's get to our pick them let's pick this down so for those who are this is the first podcast and I was 125 times the first time you listen to this podcast we do something called the checking and pick them which is where we pick every game except the AFC East against the spread or with the spread and we go through it weekly Justin's job is not to read off the AFC East because we do that in a separate segment right called thrown picks where we then pick the score. So we have two segments, checking to pick them, thrown picks, let's get to it. Last week, lots of people tied with seven at the top of the list. The New York SAC Exchange, the Hooligans, the Green Machine, and your wife. Tied with seven. You had five, and I had five. So we both tied with five. I am in dead last. I am having a horrible... horrible picking here. So if you want to gamble, if gambling were legal, you could listen to what I'm saying now and decide to go opposite and you'd win more than 50% of your games every week. Yeah, you're a full week. So in the leaderboard my wife is winning by four, which is really good. It is disturbing. I'm actually upset. And she's 12 over you. Yeah, she's killing me. She's killing you. So let's get into this week's picks. All right. So we start off with a AFC South matchup. The Tennessee Titans who just got absolutely creamed by the Texans are hosting the Colts who just got even worse creamed, if that's the way to say it, by the Saints on Sunday night. Hopefully we never have. to see that team again. We'll do one more. Great. And is it in the Flex spot or no? I think it's nine. Wonderful, right before the Flex. Thank you, MVC. Chris Collinsworth was actually making fun of it on Inside the NFL last night. Making fun of the Flex? Making fun of the fact that he was like, for the three people who were still watching at the end of my game that I was calling on Sunday night. He was this week. We have a good one. Yeah, I think we have some good Sunday that's good the money Sunday Monday both good Mondays. Okay. I believe it's a good one Anyway, the line here Tennessee hosting Indy Tennessee's giving eight and a half Just give me the Colts. I don't know why yeah, so so I I I'm gonna take those eight and a half and run with it I I think I'd make if anybody can do well against Any other team here's my thing colts. I think they've packed it up There was plays extra shorts and plays on SportsCenter or something today talking about you know And showing plays where you just see colts players kind of like just standing there while while ball things happen I don't know what happens ball ball ball things like balls. Yeah balls deep in balls. Okay balls cock balls
00 Jake: You have to say earmuffs first before you do that. No, this is an explicit podcast. Oh, you're right. So I'm going to take Tennessee. I think this is the week. There's been lots of talk about Chris Johnson. I happen to own him in the fantasy league. He doesn't run for 100 yards in a touchdown in this game. Yeah. Then he's just done. Then I'm literally going to be just talking off. He's done. So I'm taking Tennessee. I think Indianapolis might not. Okay, next game has New Orleans, the team that scored 62 points last week, going to St. Louis. If you are still alive in your suicide pools and you need a team to pick and you haven't picked the Saints yet, this might be the week to pick them. The Saints are in St. Louis and they are giving 13.5 points. It opened off. probably because of Bradford and then it goes to 13 and a half. Bradford's not... I don't even know if it would matter. I think he... Justin: Not even sure. We're after this thing, sort of. Jake: Yeah, I'm gonna take New Orleans. I'm taking New Orleans too. I'll take New Orleans. Again, 13 and a half is right about where I started to pick the underdog, but... Two touchdowns on a team that just scored 62 in Lewis's schedule. Just been absolutely there getting crushed. It's awful Your schedule has been so bad. Just a little sidebar here. I'm opening it up They played Philly in the week one before Philly before Philly was bad Yeah, and they went to New York to play the Giants. They played him kind of tough then they played Baltimore Washington They should have won that one. They buy weak and after they're buy, they go to Green Bay, to Dallas, and now they have New Orleans. That is just tough. Who decided to do that to them? They must not have liked it. No good. It's back in no while. Anyway, next game, Carolina is hosting Minnesota. Carolina is coming off a victory. This is a 2-5 team hosting a 1-6 team. Two starting rookie quarterbacks. Ponder did not look bad at all against Green Bay. Ponder Punch did not look bad at all against Green Bay. Adrian Peterson got it going as well. Carolina given 3.5. I think they're just a better team. Cam Newton to me is worth that half a point. And I'm gonna take Carolina. I'm gonna go with Minnesota on this one. I actually think that... You're probably right. Based on... Based on Friday's... Based on Friday's... Based on past performance. Yeah, I just feel like Minnesota's gonna get it together. They're gonna figure it out. Ponder's got another week to kind of prepare for it. Um... And I think now that Ponder... Now that people look at Ponder and they're like, Oh, he can actually whip the ball down the field. And did the first... first play of the game, right? He can move and he can throw. I think that really helps out Peterson. And if you get Peterson like a little bit of like, not everybody's stacking the box, Caroline does not have a good D. People can run all over them. I think they'll actually keep it in there and pound and ground or ground and pound from Minnesota. And I think they're gonna win. It's amazing how bad Donovan McNabb is.
01 Jake: Yeah. His career is so over. Alright, moving along, we have Baltimore coming back home after an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football hosting Arizona that's come across the country. And I'm just, I can repeat what I said last week, which was there's no way that... Jacksonville is gonna score a touchdown in this game and Baltimore is gonna beat him by a whole lot. But the weapons on the Arizona Cardinals in terms of wide receiver and quarterback are much better than what was on with Blaine Gabbard and nobody. They certainly are but I feel like Kevin Kalb is not very good. No, he was on the fantasy roster there for a while. I got rid of him. I feel like he's not very good. and in fantasy and real life, more in real life. I mean, he's just not that good. He's not proven, he's not that good. And Baltimore at home is a real hard place. As we've witnessed, it is a hard place to go and play, especially with Baltimore being embarrassed on national television the week before. It's 13 points. I'm still taking Baltimore. I don't like that I don't like the 13 points because I don't I don't think that Baltimore's problems of scoring Arizona just lost at home by 12 to Pittsburgh I feel like Baltimore is much better than Pittsburgh. Yeah. Oh At this point in terms of scoring in terms of just being a better Pittsburgh Pittsburgh deep the Pittsburgh offense has scored Lot this year. It's okay. Baltimore offense has not that's okay So I think it's not I don't even feel like this is gonna be about scoring I feel like if Baltimore puts up 20 they're winning this spread Now because I think that they have enough weapons that they can at least they'll keep it close I don't think they're gonna win like Arizona's not gonna win this game I don't think they're gonna lose by the game. You like the point. I'll take the points All right, Houston at home coming off a big win against Tennessee hosting Jacksonville who the last two weeks have played two really tough teams, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and have hung in there with Pittsburgh and they beat Baltimore. I couldn't have been more wrong about this last week, and this 9.5 that Houston's giving Jacksonville, I feel like it's too much for a team that just played insane defense against, you know, Pittsburgh is not a bad offensive team at all, you know, Big Ben, he could throw the ball around. I think I just said that about two minutes ago. You did, but, you know, they held him to 17. Our win against Jacksonville looking a little better now, I feel, particularly the way that that defense is playing with a bunch of former defensive backs, Dwight Lowry, Drew Coleman and Dwight Lowry, Drew Coleman making the interception to clinch the game, good for him. Give me Jacksonville getting 9 and a half, even though Andre Johnson might be back. Yeah, I'll take Jacksonville as well. I think that Houston's D, you know, what Jacksonville wasn't able to do against, you know, move down the field very efficiently, they weren't able to really run the ball. They could run the ball. They always can run the ball.
01 Jake: So I don't think Houston has the defense that Baltimore has. I think that if this is a close game, they'll run the ball more effectively. So I think this will be a bunch of kicks. But Houston's going to score by still in their defense. We'll keep them in check. Nine and a half points is too much. I'll take Jackson. All right. We agree. Moving along, we have... I should change my pick right now. You probably should. We have Detroit going to Denver. This line was off all week until today. Today being Thursday, there being a final line of Detroit being favored by three on the road. Good. I feel like Detroit remembered all of a sudden that they're Detroit and Yeah, and all of a sudden they're just losing games and There you know the 49ers turn out they're pretty good team All right, the 49ers if you lose to the 49ers, okay, you got beat by a good team, right? but last week You know Atlanta at home if you're a good team you should win that game Atlanta hasn't been very good this year Being consistent inconsistent, and I feel like you can get at Detroit you can run on them And in Denver T-Bose first home game. It's gonna be crazy atmosphere Give me Denver getting three at home. Yeah, no, I don't I don't believe it. I don't believe in T-Bose yet I don't believe in Denver. I think beating the worst team in the league that's basically not showing up by some flute plays and bad defense in the last three minutes of the game when you literally look like the worst quarterback in the league. I saw throw after throw where you just overthrow people. I think Detroit has a good enough defense to get to that boy and him and his sitting back there if he thinks he's going to run he's going to get hit hard by a... I think a good defense, I don't think he's going to. I don't think that defense is that good. That's the point. I think they have enough players that he's going to get hit hard. All right. We disagree. Probably good for you. Yep. Next game in San Francisco, just touting them, coming off a bye. Their first home game after that whole handshake debacle. I think their fans are pretty fired up. They're playing Cleveland. You know, Cleveland last week at home scored six against Seattle and won. Pretty awful game. I think, Ontario Hardesty had 30-something carries for 90-something yards. That's pig-headed determination. Yes. Very good, Chuck. That's just ridiculous. Anyway, San Francisco's home, they're giving 8.5 and I like them. Yeah, I like San Francisco to win the game, but don't let the 8.5. I'm gonna take a quick one. Alrighty. Cincinnati, by the way, we're in the 4 o'clock. There's a lot of 4 o'clock games this week. I'm very happy, as we'll discuss in the phone picks, because I will be back to watch the... A lot of 4 o'clock. The same amount of 4 o'clock, there are 1 o'clock, which means the red zone will be nice at 4, although I will be watching an AFC East. match up the entire time. Anyway, we'll get to that later. Cincinnati goes to
04 Jake: Seattle. Historically a tough place to play, but Cincinnati coming off there by is giving three points on the road to Seattle. I just don't believe that much in Cincinnati and Dalton to be to be a favorite on the road. As bad as Seattle might seem, their defense isn't as bad as it seems. Run defense, as much as you can. Yeah, so No, Cedric Benson for Cincinnati Give me Seattle and the points at home. Give me Cincinnati. All right I'll take it out. One of us might have a good week. Yeah. All right, so we are now in prime time Where we actually have a pretty good Sunday night matchup here in Philly Oh, this is the old you and the team for one in five years. It should be the old Andy read off. Bye Philly hosting Dallas the line is three and a half Philly giving three and a half and I like Dallas Dallas could run the ball we saw what the mark of Murray could do last week you know can certainly run the ball and Philly I'm sure that they're working on something in the bye week to shore that up a little bit but I like I like the guys up yeah something I like the running game of Dallas I like the Rob Ryan defense being able to slow Philly down and I like getting three and a half points So give me Dallas. Yeah, I'll take Dallas. I think Dallas is a good team I think I think I'm glad we got them in week one. There you go. There's your Raiders rant in reverse Yeah, right. We got Dallas at week 10 versus week one before they really grasped that Rob Ryan defense, right? So, and I'll take Dallas too. I mean, it's hard because you got Michael Vick at home after bye, you got them, you know, sort of getting healthier. You also see Andy Redown, I think he's like something amazing and to know. It's like 11 and 0 or something stupid. Yeah, 11 and 0 after bye. So, I would have picked this game. But these bye weeks this year are different than what may have been in the past. They're shorter, they have less time to practice. They have to let them go. They have to let them go somewhere. to Disney World something. And sometimes you go hang out with hookers. Not with porn stars. Right, if she ever has gone cowsky. You didn't have sex with him by the way. I don't believe that for a second. Yeah, anyway. He embarrassed the organization. That he did. Although I still don't believe that he didn't have sex with that girl. So in this game. And we will talk about that in a moment. In this game. In detail. Asks to mouth. In detail. Oh, wow. Explicit. Ear muffs. Can we get two more explicit tags on this? You So in this game, I just think this is gonna be a very close game, so if I think it's gonna be very close, then I'm gonna go with Dallas. I can see either one of these, if you said Philly wins it, Dallas wins it, I can't really tell. Alright, moving on to Monday night, another, I think this is a good matchup, you'd think it's whatever, but it's okay. division game in the AFC We played one, we played another, we played this division, the AFC West. So it's San Diego on the road in Kansas City. Kansas City started off like complete dog shit.
00 Jake: They were 0-3 I believe, I'm opening up their page here so I can see. They lost to Buffalo 41-7, they lost to Detroit 48-3. and then they lost in San Diego 2017 earlier in the year. They then proceeded to rip off three straight wins against, eh, opponents. Minnesota at Indy, at Oakland. Oakland post Jason Campbell injury. So now they get San Diego again, and San Diego... Coming off that loss against the Jets Kansas City coming off the wing Kansas City having played them very tightly in San Diego The first time and Kansas City at home on a Monday night with that crazy crowd is getting three and a half points I can't believe it. Give me the point No, Kansas City's getting three and a half points San Diego is a favorite Yes, I know, but you said with the crazy crowd you're talking about the Kansas City Chiefs. That's right, getting three and a half points. Okay. Learn to read spreads. When you are a underdog you get points, meaning Kansas City is getting three and a half. This is why I read these. Kansas City is getting three and a half points and I cannot believe it. when they lost by three on the road. They're gonna get three and a half at home all good reasons to pick Casey. That's why I'm a fixandie Let's move on to the throne picks which would be the the games AFC east yeah, let's do it. All right. Sorry with three games. We have three right? I have to go over to that Where is that? All right, so we're gonna pick all three games starting. How'd we do last week? I got one right in my wall. Ow my score was eerily close on the Denver my eye. I was so close on the getting at my eye I thought they'd win if not for 3 minutes but whatever. I picked it 15-12 that was damn close. Alright so moving along. Let's do it. We gait. We start with... We're starting with the best game right? Let's start Start with the games a four o'clock game. Let's start with Miami at the Giants. You'll be at this game So I will be going to this game You know dolphin fan in my life and the other person who show my name was who actually has Giants season tickets I'm gonna go so I'm kind of excited because I get to go to the Meadowlands or sorry to MetLife Stadium Jet Light Stadium and I get to witness sort of a my first time at a Giants home game I've been to the preseason games It'll be a regular season game right and I don't really care because there's not really a bunch of good games on it one And I get to sort of hang out for a car get to come home and watch the rest of the game So I'm excited. This should be kind of fun All right. So what was your score? Did you say no? I so I mean this is a you know very very bad team against a good team and Katina is leading their division. They're getting back tuck, they're getting back Sneet, and they're getting back their first round pick and Prince is gonna be playing. So I just there's no way in the world. I mean
01 Jake: this would be the biggest collapse. It's why I should probably pick the other way. But I think the Giants win 28-12 with Eli looking pretty good after a bye and getting some of his weapons back. Gotcha. Yeah, I think Jacob is gonna play I believe. A bunch of the defensive guys are back. Prince, the tuck. You got tuck back. You got the center back which is big. Boss. Alright, score. Did you give a score? Yeah, 2812. 2812. Alright, so I believe... Now you have picked... Now let's go back here. Now you're gonna pick against yourself. No. Because you have picked the Giants to go what? Six and two. No, no, no. Six and two, seven and nine. So they're...oh, so then you're still fine. No, I believe the Giants will win this game. Okay, but then lose the rest of the season almost. No, they'll go five and two. Then they'll go six and two. Let's see what they're scheduling. I know, we like to digress on the Giants here because they're a New York team. We like to make fun of them. So yeah, they probably won't be what I said they will be because their next week is in New England. I mean, after this game, they're playing Miami, right? And right now, what are they, four and two? They're four and two. So let's say they get to five and two. Let's read the rest of their schedule and you tell me where they're gonna win. Okay. At New England beat in the Super Bowl At New England this year with these two teams. They're gonna win that game We couldn't win that game any given Sunday. Okay at San Francisco before the season started that was a win now Philly at home after they beat Philly earlier in the year. You think they'll sweep Philly? Yeah in New Orleans. Depends if Philly just gives up. Just listen to this stretch in New Orleans. They're gonna lose that game. Green Bay. At home? At home. Green Bay. No one's beating Green Bay right now. Green Bay's not gonna go undefeated. Sure, they're gonna lose the Giants? Why not the Giants? Wow. In Dallas. Yeah, you can beat Dallas. They're gonna, so okay, they're gonna win in Dallas. Yeah, I can see that. Washington. I can see the beat in the Redskins. on the road at the Jets Think about the second one and then Dallas at home And they'll probably split with Dallas. They're gonna split with Dallas. They're gonna win like three more games in your mind I have them winning like two maybe. Yeah, so that's like six wins after that Miami game We have them at seven to nine or eight and eight. That's scheduled really hard. Yeah it is. But again, it's always- There's a stretch there of at New England, at San Francisco, Philly, at New Orleans, Green Bay. Holy shit, that's five weeks in a row you can absolutely lose all five. You could lose all five, but then you gave them Sunday you lose all five. But those are- there's no like, there's no Miami in the middle there. Right, no soft punch. It'd be nice to have Miami in the middle of that. You come off your buy, you go to New England, whatever. Then you go to Miami. Then you get there. Then Miami. Alright, so what do you think is Miami? I have the Giants winning this game.
03 Jake: The spread on this game is 10. Miami's getting 10. I have Miami against, I like Miami in the picks. So I like the score to be Giants win by somewhere less than 10. So let me just throw it out, I don't know, 26-17. 17. Okay, I don't know how they're gonna score 17 points, but okay. They'll throw a bomb to Marshall He'll catch it. They'll get a fumble something Eli will throw a pick six something. All right Let's do Washington in Buffalo. Yeah, let's do it in Toronto. I should say in Toronto in there This is I feel a little bad for Buffalo because they're really tough to beat in Buffalo. That's a good crowd Yeah, that's a real good crowd And they're actually good this year, so this game matters. And to have to play it up where, in Toronto, which you've been to, it can't be the same at all. Not at all. It's basically- Like people just sitting on their hands. It's a hodgepodge of, yeah, it's a weird stadium. It's a dome. It's indoors. It's weird. That's all I can say about it. As a Jess fan, it was great being there, and we won. But- Yeah, it's certainly not it's certainly not a Buffalo home game in any sort of yeah, they sort of lose a home game here It's like going to London. They probably get well, it's a little bit better than that They probably get like it's regional at least they get at least 50% of the stadium is full of Buffalo fans 50% do you feel like Washington fans are more more? Justin: No, because it's just people. Jake: It's just people. People in Toronto that want to go to a football game. Yeah. So then I think that's the other part of the fans, is they're just people. And even the people who are Buffalo fans, they're not the crazy backwards-screwing-their-sisters fans from Buffalo. There are some of those. There are these guys in Toronto who work in offices and they're like a buffalo, eh? and they go down and they watch a... What the fuck is that? And they watch a Buffalo game. That was like Toronto game. That was weird. Alright. Alright, I like it Buffalo 24-20. Although I want it to go the other way. I really do. I really want it to go the other way. But I wouldn't mind them winning and then us beating them. So I'll give it 27-19, Buffalo. Let's go Buffalo. Let's go Buffalo. Alright, and probably the game of the week. I was like, don't say it's the game of the century. It's not. But with the game of the week... New England in Pittsburgh, wouldn't have minded this being a Monday Nighter. It's 4.15, it's the national game I have to imagine. New England in Pittsburgh, I see this being a shootout. Gronkowski coming off of his escapades with a porn star in the bi-week. Those are cool photos to see though, I must say. I only saw one. I'm a fan of Rob Garkowski. Because he puts his dicks, the dicks are gone. Pretty awesome. A lot of dicks. Pretty cool. Why is that cool? It's just cool. It's cool to fuck a porn star? Yeah. Really? She's a pro.
00 Jake: They're like, that is cool. Wow, I hope you can play this around the holidays for your family. I will. Yeah, alright. Excellent. Absolutely, they will get... ass to mouth and it's cool to fuck a porn star using the ass to mouth technique all right it's gonna fall in the middle of this game that's good that's good all right she was wearing a jersey and everything this is gonna be a shootout I think it'll be a shootout cuz New England can score on anyone pretty much and Pittsburgh can score too they can score and I don't think Pittsburgh's defense is as good as it's been although the stats would say I'm wrong but I still don't think they really played it and all your picks would say you're wrong too I don't think they played any I don't think they've played anybody to be honest when you look at it I feel I feel as if I should look at this because we've done it for other teams if you look at Pittsburgh they got their butts kicked in Baltimore yeah that's just okay braver they beat Seattle 24 nothing at home during their home opener. That's powerful the course. That's good. They went to Indian one by three. Yeah, that was New Orleans just went there and won by 50. So it's not the painter the paint the first painter game. Shouldn't matter. Yeah, you go to Houston and you lose. Okay, you beat Tennessee good win you eke out a win against Jacksonville. Yeah, yeah 17 13 at home against Jacksonville. I really shouldn't ask them what a good tea We beat them 32 to 3. Yeah, I think we had how many They threw four but still 17 to you should score 7 more than 17 on Jacksonville at home Then you go to Arizona and they stink too I mean, they have, to me, they have one good win, the Tennessee win at home. All their other wins are much better at home. So they're playing at home here, and while I don't think that they're all that good, a little bit with the heart here, Pittsburgh 34, New England 31. Wow, we have the... Even though Pittsburgh's like... I think one in six in their last seven against North. We're the same apart from each other. But I don't think it's going to get as high as you think it is. I don't think it's going to get because I think that, again, I think that these are two defenses that are going to get better and I don't think they're going to allow over 30 points. I'm going to call it 29-26 and I do think Pittsburgh is going to win this game. That's why. And there are they dogs? Thanks for watching! The home dog, don't you? Let me check the thing here. Yeah, New England's favored by three home dogs. Alright, let's get to some tweets. First of all, by the way, a trade just came in for approval on the whole fantasy thing. I don't like this trade at all. What's the trade for? You know, why do teams make better teams better? Alright, what's the trade? One team's giving up Brandon Lloyd, Jonathan Stewart, and Daniel Thomas to get Dwayne Bowe. I hate a three for one.
00 Jake: Wow, three for one. Is that Peter, Cooper, or two? To Randall's Island. I don't know what Randall's Island is getting out of this except maybe feels like Daniel Thomas is a keeper I'm gonna leave this for you to approve. All right So so a Twitter I don't like that though the bet one of the best teams in the league gets Dwayne Bow for three guys He probably wouldn't start Bullshit, but that's okay because you're you're saying that these three guys are just the value of that one guy. Yeah, that's incredibly stupid because then you have to drop two guys. I don't think the rainbow is as whether or include Cottree vs. Curly. Yes, I believe we should actually. Sure, I think... Cottree vs. Curly or... Right, Brad's Curly. Well no, Cottree was number three, and Brad Smith would be three. Or Curly would be three. Okay, so then... Cottree vs. Curly. Yeah, but it's not really Cottree vs. Curly. Cottree vs. Mason, and Mason's gone. I think I win that one. Well, it's three vs. three. Kottree versus whoever's the three. No, but we when we had the argument we had a discussion. We did. It was the three that we have versus the three and one was the same so that was a two versus two. Right. It was it was uh Fox versus Praylin. Right. And Kottree versus whoever at the time was Mason. Here's the silly part about having this discussion. Yeah. She's not over yet. Yeah it's a little silly because an update is on looking west and west. Alright, last... Lap before last week you'd have looked pretty correct pretty correct now having seen what we saw last week with plaques with the three touchdowns and You know curly coming on You would look less like we'd look like you know what we are closer to even How many touchdowns his plaques have this year the number seven? It's five So if he has if he has two more then I'm wrong then it's an upgrade. If he has less than two, then it's not. Braylon always had seven last year. I think he'll have more than two more. I guess he might have two more in the next game. I'm gathering that he's going to be the red zone guy from now on. If Sanchez can figure out to throw it above him, not at his feet. So yeah, I think it's working out better. I still think Contra vs. Curly... I would still want Kachri. And Kachri versus Mason. I don't know about that. Still want Mason. I mean, still want Kachri versus Mason. And Kachri was currently at two games. Kachri can't get on the field. That's where he is. For us. No. In our system. But he can't get on the field. He can't even get on the field. Well, can he physically can't walk out there? I'm not sure if he's injured or what, but he has no catches this year. I don't know. That might be the depth of their team. makes no sense to have a fifth receiver that doesn't play special teams. Listen, you could put Sean Green on a team that they're so deep in why, then running backs that he would never get on the field.
02 Jake: So... I think... I think... Kachri's savvy-ness as a veteran, always nice to have. He had sure hands until last year when he dropped a lot of stuff. Right. He was clutch. He was kind of clutch. He would make a lot of nice catches on third down, but I feel like Curly's coming on. I think Curly's coming on. By the end of the year, it might be. But again, I would never have said Cottree versus Curly. Any place specialty. It was Cottree versus Mason. I still think that was Mason. Cottree's clearly better than Mason because we dropped him. So we cut him. Got them. And I don't think it was because of performance, even though they said it was. No, it was both. Oh, he's had more catches than Khatri this year. Anyway, let's move on. What's this other shit? UK Jets fan to... So, forgive a basic question. This is from dudpoet. It's, which Jets journos are worth paying attention to? Most of those seem like bitter pricks. I don't get the question even saying so I don't get the most don't pay doesn't actually ask a question at all. Oh yes, he just calls me out. He just calls you out for being a crappy broadcaster. Thanks buddy. Well you really are. Yeah, I am. So that's it. That's the end of the part. Let's see, we only got to about 55 minutes. It's just a tiny little one.
