07 Justin: and they have an implementation of their women. The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Can't wait! Jake: Welcome to the j- Kingdom podcast, the Longs Running Your Jets podcast on the entire interweb. Wow! A little rusty here on the Mondays. Tough doing it in two days, but two wins, two podcasts, two weeks. It's all good. I'm on my bye week. I'm relaxing. You can't tell me to practice. I'm on my bye week. I was just saying, practice! I was just saying that It's Jake and joining me, Justin. Justin, how are you doing? That's what we're trying to do. I'm great. We got some fantastic things to talk about. Well, it's Monday and we're podcasting. That means something good happened on Sunday. That means something good happened. We'll have a game review. We'll pick our play and night to the game. We'll talk about our new world-renowned segment called Town Cryer. People love Town Cryer. Town Cryer. Oh, wow, the voice is even bad. And I've been throwing, uh, I've thrown some notes for the Town Crier, and I'm gonna do I have some ranting to do. So let's get to it. I don't know if I really want to be involved in your ranting. You will be. Let's get to it. So coming off a couple weeks of saying we've lost three in a row, then we go and win one against the winless dolphins, which are looking worse and worse. That win is looking not as impressive as it was. That win was never impressive. And lots of talk about the offense. Lots of talk about where is Parks Gaboris. Talk about the defense not being able to stop good teams. We never beat a good team, which is kind of true. Looking at a record, we hadn't really beat anybody good. Neither had San Diego, to be honest. And I think that came out pretty nice. So, you know, the game starts as like all good Jets game should start with a, I guess a strip. And a run back for touchdown, putting us down 7-0. That's the way we like to do it. Get down early, 7-0. You know who the thing was? They came out, they got a first down. We got a first down in the first drive? On the first drive? Wow. L.T. was a little fired up. He came out, ran the ball the first couple times. Never mind, he was sick as hell. Oh. So... I guess you can overcome that for the first quarter. And then, you know, little pressure on Sanchez. He gets the ball out, throws to Keller. Keller bobbles, catches, strip, tops down. 7-0. Great. And you had to be thinking at that point. I was thinking, well, okay, it's only 7-0. I didn't expect this to be a shutout of the Chargers. They are a good team. They can put up points. They have got weapons.
03 Jake: But again, you just don't like to have that start the game. That's kind of like, and again, this is almost exactly what we saw against Baltimore. And I'll give Marc Sanchez the, you know, I'll put him in the category of great turn of events because at Baltimore, same thing happened, although Strip Bonville got sacked, whatever, but he never came back in that game, right? And I was, I was thinking, oh god, is this guy gonna come back in the game or is he just gonna come across the whole? Well this one wasn't his fault, number one. So it's not on his head. Number two, we're at home so it's a little different. It's easier to come back when you're at home than it is on the road when you get strip sack, fumble, touchdown. Crowd's going nuts. And then you get the ball right back and the crowd's still going absolutely berserk. Right. In this case, we get the ball back and order is restored. People just let him do his business. But in the other,,- is a good comeback story from the Jets. Good comeback. It played well. Sanchez did well, not great, but well. Had a very good game, I thought. 18-33, 173, and 3 TDs only in intersection. And then the fantastic Philip Rivers. Yep, he had a better, certainly a better quarterback rating and completion percentage, which is a little odd. Philip Rivers, if anything, he's not known for being inaccurate. No, I don't know he's actually known for being an excellent. Yeah, he had a 50% completion rate He looked he looked very Sanchez like you look Sanchez like more like suck cheese. Oh Sanchez look like Sanchez not such as look very good. You know it's it's tough to tell though because Does San Diego team... I'm not really sure if they're good or not. They're 4-2. But when you look at their 4 wins, they beat in Minnesota. Oh, great team. They're just awful, right? Yeah, they're horrible. They played Green Bay kind of tough yesterday. Oh, they got the Ponderball. They have 1 win, right? They lost to New England. Good team, got beat by them. They lost. Yep. They beat Kansas City, who's 3-3 now, but was 0-2 at the time. Yeah, that's one of those weird scheduling things. Like, I'm sure Kasey could be a winning team at the end of the year, but at that point... At that point, they had lost 41-3 and 41-7, so they weren't looking very good. If those were actually the scores, I'd be very impressed. Were you going to go back, though? No, I'm not. I'm pretty sure they were. That's pretty impressive. Miami they beat right there still winless and then they beat Denver who just got their first win yesterday over the winless So someone had something to give them to win the seams. So they haven't really beaten Anybody to think that they're any good And the whole West Coast that yeah that I think that as a factor they're coming east They're playing at 10 o'clock
01 Jake: internal clock right in the morning, but you need a have to I mean, they're at the stadium, what do you think? Three hours before? So that's like seven o'clock in the morning, which means they're eating breakfast at about like six in the morning. Yeah, that doesn't, that doesn't. Yeah, but these are not like, these are football players. I would think the only thing about that is that you would think that their second half would be much better. Because while they get to the second half, they're now in towards the time they would actually start to play. Yeah. There'd be more. And it was reversed. Their first half was great. Their second half, they were shut out. Yeah, I didn't even think that they played that great. I mean, look, they scored... Their offense scored 14 points. Right. And our offense was actually looking... To me, I thought this was even in the first half when we scored 10, that that was our... the best half of offense that I had seen from the Jets. as far as being a balanced attack, being under control, moving the ball effectively, like not going three and out. They would sustain drive. Interception was unfortunate in the end zone, fine. But still, that drive had movement. There was forward movement, there was momentum. Another point about that interception, which I really, is that that, again, maybe Mark Sanchez, I'd love to think this is going to happen going forward. But you would think with him being intercepted throwing to Burris, like that he'd kind of go, oh, no more for you buddy, because like I'm not having it, right? Because you get that kind of like shock thing. He turned around and like, as we know, three more touchdowns for Pregsico. What I loved about the Pregsico, I saw some of the highlights today as watching, you know, of course they wins, I'm all in. I'm all watching everything I can get my hands on, the post game show, whatever. But interesting, they really use practical, not in the tradition of what we thought was way which is send them in the corner. They did that a couple of times, but it was, but when they did that crossing one where they came across the end of the end zone and use single coverage, like really six five guy single coverage in the end zone, like great receiver. Yeah. You know, he seems back. If you remember, well. out. He had three touchdowns. I still feel like he's not as good as what he will be if he stays healthy towards the end of the season. Yeah. Because I still think there's two years of wrestling. I never, if he never has another three touchdown game, I would be fine. No, then I'll be upset. No, I don't think he... He'll be never has another three touchdown game, fine. But if he doesn't score again for the rest of the year... But this is, this is gonna be, and I know people, I know I'm a Jets fan. I'm over, I'm over, you know, the win has gotten me all crazy and all that, but... Like, I'm thinking that this is a team that you pick your poison, right? We've got two good guys out there. I think Holmes is excellent. That stupid call and the stupid pass penalty or the, what was it, holding penalty, right? That for Mangle. That was a great catch. I mean, Greek, this guy is great. He's a great receiver. And we've got another guy who can be great. He might be 75% of great right now. I think the weapons were there. Who are you gonna carve? Who are you gonna put, like if you were guarding us, you'd probably put Rivas on homes, right? And probably put Plaxico on, on, uh. Plaxico on Plaxico? Oh, Plaxico on, sorry.
01 Jake: I have Plaxico cover Plaxico. Wow, could Plaxico cover Plaxico? Yeah, I would just do it from the speed side. Yeah, speed side. That would be where I'd go. But even then, man, that's... No, I think about the Jets being a tough cover. I feel like they have some weapons that are tough, but sometimes they just... I don't know. You feel like Holmes wasn't necessarily a part of the game plan yesterday. He caught some big third-down passes. That's his thing. By some, I mean he caught two balls, the whole game. It's not the balls you catch. It's the balls... It's where you catch them. Again, practical had four. Four catches. Three touchdowns. That's what matters. One of Holmes' catches was for a first down. The other one wasn't. He had the one where he drew the pass interference. It turned out to be a first down, so that was big. I thought Jeremy Curly had a fantastic game. I think he caught some big... You know, we were down a lot of this game. We were down for... Most of the game. Basically, yeah, like until the fourth quarter. And on that drive where we drove down to score the third plaques, the touchdown, I remember Curly having, if not one, two big third down catches to make it a first down. And I thought, ah. That's what, like we haven't had a like a winker bet type in a while that is sort of short, fast, and can play in the slot. I'm not gonna call him Westwelker because that's silly. That's ridiculous. But a guy that can like run a little crossing route for five and make it ten and get the first down. Right. I like that, because so often with every team does it, but we watch the Jets and we complain about why run the five yard play for 10. When you need 10, why are you running for five? Right? And it's like, it's just ridiculous. So I feel like, what do you got there? No, I'm going to do something. I feel like Curly can... can extend those plays. He's got that ability. So I just want to bring up my keys to the castle. Because what I think, I think we both actually nailed the keys to the castle on both sides. Mine was the stick to an offensive consistency. And this is the JEDS game. This is it. Between the 20s, we're going to run up your gut. We're going to smash you between the 20s. when we get to the red zone. We have options in there and we're gonna throw the ball. Like we didn't run the ball in, we threw the ball. And we threw the ball and successfully we're gonna score on you. And then on defense, we're basically gonna play all over the place. We're not gonna let you get a lot of points. And in the end you're gonna make a mistake and we're gonna turn that mistake into the loss of the game. The Jets played like the Jets yesterday, or at least the Jets of the last two years, let's call it the... you know, when they were playing at their best. This is the game that I'd like to see of them. This is the game. This is the right. They had the 100 yard rusher. This is the team that could beat the Bills. This is the team that could beat the Patriots. This is the team that could beat any team out there. They ran for 160 and threw for 160.
01 Jake: This was... This is our team. This is our game. Right. This was our game. Good second half defense. Stop and we need to stop. Other ones, I mean, here's the other thing. Dustin Keller had the most yards. Sure. Right? Four for 53. That's awesome. Yeah, one big play, which is very nice. Sean Green, 24-1-20. He's averaging over five yards a carry. That's the best game of the year. That's what we want. Probably won't. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if he never see that again, unless we're playing maybe Denver. I feel like they want that. I know, I think they want that. They want 20 carries, 100 yards. words. But I like they even throw in the Joe McKnight package, which I think I had more to do it LTV LTV, you know And then Sanchez when Sanchez is running 25 yards down the field like a sprinting I love it So um strong green did make one mental mistake that bugged me quite a bit. Is this part of your rant? This is a pre-rant. This is not part of the rant. All right, just reviewing the game. All right end of the game in the two minute situation. When it's first and goal from the ten and there's two minutes on the clock and you're going to run the ball you don't run out of bounds. You don't. You just don't. You're up three. You're not up seven. You're up three. So kicking that field goal gets you up six. Which is... better than up three, but still not up 10. And if you're gonna run the ball, and you're not gonna score a touchdown, then you're asked, better not be going out of bounds. Because if you're gonna run the ball, and only run seven seconds off the clock, you may as well have thrown it. So he was definitely, you know, in the play, and I didn't, I haven't seen the replay of it, but I remember watching him live, is that he was... he was trying to get touchdown. And so, no, I know, I got you. And he kept trying to get, get the corner and couldn't get the corner and he get put. Yes. And he should have fallen or turned back and just fell and fall. Like Sanchez did. Actually Sanchez couldn't make the play. And then he came back and took the sack. Take the sack. You know what? A 30 yard field goal is the same as a 20 yard field goal. And if you're not gonna score a touchdown, then you may as well just fall. Two other points I want to put out in the game. Because the Chargers had no timeouts. Right. They got the ball back. Well, we'll talk about the Chargers' things. Because I got three other things I want to talk about. One, the fans. We were pretty good. I thought the fans were good. Now, of course, I love when rest goes in. I have an asshole behind me. Mr. Asshole behind me. Yeah, he did- Mr. Section 220A, row 30- Really? ...seat whatever. Yeah. You're an A-hole. Don't tell me to sit down, because you're watching the game. Yeah, so let's get the status. I get it. Some people don't like to stand a lot. But this was during the kickoff. First- opening kickoff of the game. Like all excited, everybody on the feed. We're getting the ball, let's go Joe, return the ball. Here we go, and the guy says, you're gonna stand there? You're gonna stand the whole game? I'm gonna stand when I wanna stand. It's been five minutes, plus... Why don't you stand when everyone else stands? Well sir, if I stand when everyone else stands and everyone else abides by that rule... then nobody will ever stand. Fuck off. You're also not 6'10", 400 pounds. No, I'm 5'6". Fuck off. I'm wearing a 12 year old.
02 Jake: You can see right by him. Yeah, there's nothing blocking. And I'm the guy, if you sit in my section, you hear someone screaming, get up, get up. If you're standing in front of me, awesome. I can stand. Yeah. Great. I agree. There are some people who, there's some people who like when there's nothing to stand for are standing. But again, I'd rather fault you for standing more. There were two guys sitting next to us, or down front of us, and towards the end we were playing around with them because we kind of know some of the guys there. And, you know, I was giving them crap because I'm like, now you stand? I don't think he was a Jet Fan. Third and whatever. I think he was just at the game. Yeah, whatever. He was wearing like a soccer jersey. But then stand up. When everybody else in the stadium stands up, you stand up. You know when I sit when the offense is on the field? That's right, and then shut up. And when we're losing... 14 3 officiating so that's one officiating is to consistently bad Yeah, I don't it was very bad. I mean mark Frickin mangled three. Yeah, how does Nick Mangle get called for three pal? Yeah, I don't impossible impossible Impossible, it's like three year he gets and then the third is my favorite. Oh wait, go back to the flag Yes, I feel like the crowd and Sanchez did a spectacular job. I don't know the numbers because I don't know if you can figure this out. I know that San Diego had 13 penalties. I don't know how many of those were like neutral zone infractions, offsides. From the times they played the videos, I think it was three or four. Well, no, those were false starts. like delay of games. But when we were on offense, when Sanchez was doing hard counts or changing his cadence or doing something that forced them, them being San Diego, to do an infraction, like a neutral zone or jump off. I don't know if that's not Sanchez or if that's, I mean, it's probably a little bit of, no, that's we wouldn't be, that's the offense. Let's quiet it off and say, hey, hey, hey. job of coaching just north turner comes true he's just an awful coach i don't know who that was the tight end it came out today and said that that that the jest didn't win that the off the officiating one i don't know gates or mcmichael now it's mcmichael well he's a jerk off i know it's really like dude that's how your backup tight end yes shut up you had one good play yeah Or let's see actually how many plays you had. You had three good plays. One that was for 30. One nice play there. Yeah, it was just well in coverage. And then the last one is my favorite topic of all times because I It's a Aaron Mabon. You love Aaron Mabon. Mabon. Mabon. Mabon. Mabon. Mabon. Now it's your name or home. You love him. I love him. Who doesn't? This is the greatest story ever. This is the story of, this is the reverse, this is the reverse Golston. This is the guy for two years on our, on our side who did nothing for us. We get rid of him. There's a guy from another team and it's great that it's the Bills. It'd be better if it was the Patriots, but it's great that it's the Bills. That did nothing for them. Apparently it was like,
00 Jake: Cancer in the locker room didn't want to work out like really nothing we pick him up The better part of the story is we pick him up, then we cut him. Then we pick him up again and he's now had three force fumbles and three sacks. No, he's done a great job. I mean, he's becoming a part of this defense. Brian Thomas getting hurt has really given him the opportunity to step in there and play. And you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if Brian Thomas is just not a gent anymore after this. I started watching Maven and again... Because I was like one and I saw a couple of he actually did a nice spin move on the guy when it's white free He had a Dwight for any he doesn't seem to have the power like I don't think he could bull Really somebody he's fast, right? So he has to do it off of speed, right? But I like it I like it really the defense did a nice job the defensive line did a nice job down DeVito Yeah, DeVito wasn't on the field tender gals went out and her Dallas went out on the first series brain ankle or something you know first time the defense was out there and they they gave up less than 100 yards to a very potent combination of Tolbert and Ryan Matthews. Justin: Yeah. Jake: And they shut down the thing that was my key to the castle, which was their running backs. Ryan Matthews had four catches for 26 and Tolbert didn't even catch the ball. He left injured, but yes. Well, no, Matthews left injured. Oh, Matthews left injured? Right. Oh, the Tolbert left injured. So... And Tolbert's one of the leading pass catching running backs in the entire league. So that, you know, behind obviously Darren Sproles and I think like Matt Forte. And Vincent Jackson, I think he was count on. Still on Reva's side. I think he's still there somewhere. One for 15. That's unbelievable. Someone was asking me about little fantasy things. Someone was asking me about starting and do you have them in your any of your lineups? No, someone was asked me about it. He's like, oh I got Vincent Jackson. I said don't start him anything Our business partner has oh, he does. I said don't start him this week Oh, whoa, and I was like no really there's a real read this effect The reason effect is here's the thing if they have multiple weapons then okay fine But if they've only really have one guy that's the guy because you know, he's not gonna put him on gaze Well, you can't figure it out. So you just might as well just shut that guy down. I mean, Grand Marshal had a good game last week. But again, I don't think Rios was really on the whole game. No. His one big play was. Well, he had a lot of catches. Yeah, but they were just throwing it at him all time. And that's why Rios had two interceptions. Keep going at him eventually is going to happen. All right. So let's pick our play in Night of the Games. So many nights. I don't even know where to go. But what's your what's your play play? Give me your play in that game Well, I I caught some shit last week for saying that I thought it was one of Reeves's worst games Yep, I thought this was one of his best He went against one of the top receivers in the league. Yep with a very good quarterback top five Top could throw him in the top time easy top ten QB top ten Yeah, I think you could throw them both. If you wanted to slice a top seven, you got both the quarterback and the receiver in the top seven, in that both position.
01 Jake: And I feel like he made both the play of the game, the interception, which is a huge momentum thing because they were on their way down to score. I mean I I feel as if this week this game the Jets Chargers game will be on turning points. I can't wait. I'm sure it will be. I can't wait. And I feel like that's the play that'll be the last turning point. We're gonna get to the rest of the game but I was looking at the other games I started to stack up this section called blowouts and oh my god there were like four other flaws. So I feel like this is gonna be on that versus show. Can't wait. which means a good extensive highlights package. Anyway, Revas, play the game, The Interception, which... He gave a lot of credit to Cromartie. I watched the replay. And Vincent Jackson sort of dropped it. The ball was behind him. It hit off his shoulder pad. Yeah. Whatever. It was okay coverage, but... Right. Yeah. Bounced up. Revas takes it down the sideline. When you have Cromartie in front of you and Revas behind you, nothing's happening. You're not going anywhere. So that was the... play of the game, big momentum shifter, and he was the knight of the game. Yeah, kind of easy. I think there's another, I mean I could have picked two other guys both on offense. Yeah, I'm gonna pick the I'll go offense, and I gotta give it to Plaxico. I mean that's just, and I love the two plays, I'm gonna pick the one where he went in, you know... Running sideways in the end zone not in the corners because again it just it was a pitch and catch It wasn't a big deal. It was touched. I think it was touched on number three Unbelievable great game. I'll give all three of his the play of the games But I feel like there were a lot of a lot of nights to go around I feel like totally given it's Sean Green Line had their best game of the year. I thought yep Maybe, you know, maybe Mangold is back, like maybe last week needed a week to sort of... Because the running game was there because there were holes to run through. And that's it. That's it. I mean, if there's nowhere to go, then there's nowhere to go. Right. And you're gonna get tackled after a yard. But Sean Green really depends on there being somewhere to go and there's be somewhere to go and there's definitely like well Yeah, he's not an Adrian piece and we'll make his own place I don't like here's someone run through a wall right like that's it But there's there's definitely like there's definitely they they go with each other and I know The passing I mean, I know this is the stupidest long The running game sets up the pass again But it's true Like if they think you're gonna do only one thing then they're gonna do everything they can to stop you from doing that thing and you know ground and pound is great but you notice we don't run it in when it's time to score a touchdown because then we got these great weapons out there it's like great now you're all scared about anything that's coming off behind the line whoop whoop there you go I was really happy because my fantasy quarterback had a bye week and you put in suck cheese I've picked up suck cheese off the wave oh crazy picked up a 25 pointer between his rushing yards, three touchdown passes, the yards he threw. I was happy with that. I was like, I'm gonna pick up the set chairs. Nice. I'm gonna go for it. I, uh. Because my backup was like Rex Grossman who got benched. I think I'm going all in on the, on the, on the Giants next week.
01 Jake: Giants against, uh, dolphins. We'll see. Um... This week it was, I was down until last night and I had sprulls. And I went to, and I was like, I saw two points and I was like, I went to bed halftime and woke up, he had 24 points. Yeah, well that leads into... Let's talk about the town crier. We have the Saints kicking some... Hold on, hold on, hold, wait for it. Oh, sorry. Town crier! Okay. So we have the Saints kicking some butt. I made a big deal out of Sean Payton sitting up the box, but the bigger deal was the other Payton standing on the sideline. And it's so clear that no one else can really do that. Well, not this guy. There are people who can do it. It's not this guy. Tom Brady can go out there and do that. He does it. Even Suchas was, was doing that no other way. Yeah, but to run that, no. And I'm sick and tired of watching the cults on Sunday night. Are we going into one of your rants? Well, it's sort of there. It's there for the taking. Go for it. I'll leave it short and sweet. Come on, get them off the air. I don't need to watch the shittiest team in the league play against one of the best teams in the league on the road. No, it's 62-7. I mean, come on, is that what the final was? Yes! I went to sleep in the first- It was fucking 62-7. 62-7. Yes! Great. Good. Good. Good for you. It's a fucking basketball game. Glad. No, it's not. Yeah it is. No one would score seven. Well that's a one-sided basketball. 62. That's a lot of points. 62. That's a whole lot of points. That's that's outrageous. Because not only are the Colts so anemic on offense, they're so anemic on offense that their shit defense for years has been shit defense. Right. even shittier, because they're always on the field. They're always on the field. And you can always run over them if you want, and you can pass through them, and they have... They're just awful. So here's the answer to this question. And the answer is, and I know the contract's probably another two years. I remember when they did this. So I remember when the whole swapping, what are they called? The flexing. The flexing. The whole flexing came out. We need to flex now. Everybody was against it, as I remember. This is the reason. It starts week 10. Ugh, it should start in week 3. I think it should start like when, maybe when the buys start. Maybe when the buys start. Yeah. So two weeks ago. Cause this is crap. I have to sit there Sunday night and I'm a huge football fan. And I'm watching three quarters of this bullshit. Yeah. It's no good. I mean really? And the other thing is like, especially if you guys started early, because when you see a team that's like oh and oh and something, that team needs to be gotten off the air quickly and then put in even like tonight. Tonight's like, no it's the worst game ever! We got two shitty prime-time games! No, it's not the worst game ever. Last time was the worst game ever. This game's just as bad. Baltimore's awesome and Jacksonville sucks. But you can see that being a closer game. No, I can't. No? You think that- Absolutely not. I don't think that-
00 Jake: The only thing about it is that Baltimore's offense is not as explosive as the Saints' offense is. But you know what? Baltimore's defense- There's no fucking way that Jacksonville's scoring a touchdown tonight. Oh, I know what it is. Next week is Chargers' KC Monday night. That's a good game. So, but look, two weeks ago that would have been like, oh my god, KC could be 0-ing something. Now it's like, oh, KC's actually looking like they might be... We can see 3-3. Right, that's what I'm saying. And it's a division game. That's perfectly fine. All right. All right. I... I agree. I think they should start the thing first. Let's go through the rest of this. Alright. So... Tibo time. While other the blowouts. Titans got... Titans blowouts. Saints blowouts. Which was my other rant. So let me go to my other rant. Who the fuck is running the Oakland Raiders? Really. This is ruining the NFL. The Raiders single-handedly are ruining the balance of power. Now I'm pissed the fuck off that we played them in week 3 and not week... Six plus yeah, because really you're gonna trade two first round picks for a guy that everyone in their mother knew was Your mother knew washed up my mother knew Carson calls you completely washed up To a team that had absolutely no leverage the guy sitting there and he's like I'm not playing for you All right. I'm not right and they're like well great. So what would happen day after the trade like A day after the trade deadline, wouldn't you have been cut or something? No, no, you're on Cincinnati, you're on your contract. You're going to trade a team two first round picks for a guy who was not going to play. He wasn't even going to get on the field. They drafted a guy who was turning out to be okay. They drafted his replacement. And you know how bad Carson Palmer is? Cincinnati's 4-2 without him. They won four games all last year. That's how bad he is. But these were the two first round picks for him. I don't understand these trades. Oakland next year, their first round pick spent on Carson Palmer. Their second round pick spent on Richard Seymour. Their third round pick already spent on another quarterback in Terrell Pryor. Their fourth round pick, guess what? Spent on Jason Campbell. Their first four picks next year are gone and three of them are on quarterbacks. Let's hope we play them next year. That means they would have to finish hopefully first or second in their division which I can't see happening. They're not going to win another game. Yesterday they threw six picks. Yeah, well they took... I mean really? How bolder you know you're getting three picks out of it? Then you put this shithead in after practicing three days. He's literally on the couch. He's a couch monkey. Oh my god! Two first round picks to a team that had no leverage. None. Zero. The guy said I'm not playing for this team. I hear ya. Are you done? He could've just sat there. Not in the league. It means you don't like Jason Campbell, the guy who got you to four and two. I know. Cause you're drafting... You're drafting a guy and then you draft over him by giving up the first round pick in the same draft So you basically drafted three quarterbacks next year. Yep, and they all suck and good for you Well, maybe one of them will be good can't see it. No Raiders suck, but there's all right That's my Raiders. All right, cuz they beat us. It just kills me. We got we got we got not a lot of time
04 Jake: We got some times that so Tivo time Yeah, it is T-Bow. So I think the best thing, we'll just talk about it. So the T-Bow, and I didn't see the game the way it went down until I got home, and I was talking to my wife, the Dolphins fan, and I'm like, so what happened? And she's like, you don't know? And I said, no, I knew you guys were up 15-0. She's like, we were up 15-0 to the last three minutes of the game. It was the last three minutes of the game. So you went down, scored. And then what? Did they get an onside kick? They got it. Then they went down, they scored. Then they did the two-point conversion. Then they went and they sacked, what's his face? He picked up the ball and had it at the 40. And they kicked the field goal and won the game. Can you imagine being up 15-0 with two minutes or three minutes to go and losing? With Tim Tebow and quarterback on the other team. And Tim Tebow, who was like, he couldn't complete anything. Oh, so I think someone said today on one of these shows, and that's good enough for me to plagiarize, they said, All right. Tim Tebow did enough to give all the people who don't like him a lot of ammunition and all the people who love him a lot of ammunition because he did both. He sucked. It's dangerous, they love him because they won the game. 57 minutes and then he was good for three minutes. Right. As advertised, he won the game at the end. He won the game and then the only thing the other thing was that uh Murray. DeMarco Murray. DeMarco Murray. Murray's my middle name, which is kind of funny and spelled the exact same way. Also your dog's name. Hell's my dog's name, which is a little bit odd. But, uh, so Murray runs wild and set the new record. Set the new Cowboys record. And the Smith. And the Smith. Yeah. Yeah. Running crazy. I tried to pick him up waivers and our other friend got him and he did well. Me too. I tried to do the same but I'm ahead of both of you guys. I think everyone did. Um. you I did get him in one league and he helped me to victory. Nice, very nice. Alright, so I got the winning, I got the winning poll. This is a new section. For whenever we win, we're going to ask a poll question. Okay. Which is the worst team in the NFL in the chase to suck for luck? Right now. We got, I got the Rams. I got the Dolphins who, Reggie Bush said today, we just, the team stinks is what he says. They do. And I got the Colts. So Rams, Dolphins, Colts, which is the worst team right now. And who's going to be the number one in the chase for September Lock? Well, although Rams probably don't want to. Two out of these three teams will pick them. Right. Rams will not. No, of course not. But they'll trade. The Rams might lose their head coach. The Rams might lose their head coach. They should lose their offensive coordinator because Josh McDaniel, while proven to be a good offensive coordinator. They've scored like no points. If you're Tom Brady's whatever you like. Oh, you did okay with Denver too. Anyway, they um... So which one of these Rams, Dolphins, Colts, which is the worst team in why? I gotta think the Colts, they're just diminished. They're terrible. Yeah, I feel like at least with Miami... Their defense is a serviceable defense. Like, it's a... They can play defense. They're not embarrassing on defense. And they are a quarterback away from being an OK team. I feel like the Rams will get going,
03 Jake: and they will win four or five games this year. So I feel like... They won one last year? Two? The Rams won seven games last year. Seven? They almost made the playoffs. They were tied for first things in Splits Seattle. But I feel like their schedule has been murder and they will do better down the stretch. To me, the Colts are the worst team. And I do believe that they will get the first pick, and I do believe they will pick Andrew Locke. I know you disagree. I'm not saying whether they will or not, I just don't think that's the right thing. But again, now looking at this and looking at how bad they are... It might actually be smart. And again, it depends on what you think. Do you think Peyton's coming back or not? If you don't think so, then... I believe Peyton's gonna come back and play for another three, maybe even more years. But I still feel like they'll pick Andrew Luck and do the whole Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre deal. I think if you're gonna do that, you should do it for maximum of two years. No more than that. Roger sat for three and it's working out okay. That if there's a million cases I could pull them up, I don't know them right now, of where people sat and they turned out to be nothing. So there's a point at which you're literally letting- I don't know who you're sitting behind. Well, yes. If you're sitting behind Brett Favre, if you're sitting behind Kate and Manning, and I feel like Kate and Manning will even be like 100 times better, because Favre- knowing what we know about F.A.R.V.E. probably looked at Roger's picture of his dick. He liked to take pictures of his dick? Yes. And it was small. That Aaron Rodgers was a threat to Brett F.A.R.V.E. Right. Right? And Brett F.A.R.V.E. just wanted to go about being Brett F.A.R.V.E. and like wanted to just play forever with Green Bay and would have played like what, three more years? Probably. And just saw Aaron Rodgers as a threat and probably didn't help him all that much. Manning, I believe, actually cares about the Colts and will do everything in his power to sort of teach and coach a guy like Andrew Locke into being ready to go when it's not. But that's the thing, that what they keep saying about Andrew Locke, and here's my counter argument, and we only have a few minutes left, but my counter argument is what they keep saying about Andrew Locke, and I don't know, I don't follow college football, so... is that he's one of those guys that's rare and that doesn't need that he is good enough to go out the gate Sure, you can take it because now a new the new thing in the last five six years is take a guy out Put him in there and you can get to the playoffs You can take a start Sanchez you can take a flat go you can take a Ben Roethlisberger second year go to win the Super Bowl So you don't have to do this whole wait for three to four years So you told me so you told me four years. I'd say that's a waste Because I think in four or more years, there's some guy in high school right now, senior high school. But this is the chance. See, and I'm going to do a correlation here that you probably don't understand because it's a basketball one. But back in 95 or 96 in the NBA... The Spurs were one of the better teams and they had one of the better players in the league named David Robinson. David Robinson as their center.
02 Jake: David Robinson got hurt early in the year and then the Spurs sucked. It was just like the Colts. They went from being a very good team to being not a very good team in a matter of one guy going out. They tanked the whole season. They said, you know what David, don't rush back. I'm not going to make the playoffs if you come back and play the last season, whatever. And they tanked, and they got the first round picked, and they picked Tim Duncan. Basically, it's the same position. Power forward center. And they went on to win four more championships. Because it just kept going. They tanked the one year. That's the perfect scenario. You're hitting the downhill side of where Peyton Manning is, right? He's at 35, 36, something like that. He can't go up. No, it's not up. There's no up. Because he plays at such a high level, he can't go up. There's only down at this point. We don't know when it's going to come. But if you can get a guy that can sort of, when he leaves, like we're seeing this year, instead of getting that dramatic drop to like 0 and 6, where you can pick up where you left off, not necessarily, you know, going 14 and 2, but like started off at like 10 and 6, wow, you're way ahead of the game. Right. And I think that that's where it's not a bad theory. I just think there's, I think if you, if you thought that he was going to be back for two years versus four years versus seven years. I would be, you know, whatever. All right, so that's it, that's wrapping up the pod. Nice jet to win. We now have nothing to look forward to for the next two weeks. We're on the by. See you bitches. No, so we'll be back on Thursday because we gotta make all our picks. We won't be talking about the... We'll do maybe like a heavy fantasy. Maybe we'll do a first half. because it's basically halfway through. We'll do a first grade. Yeah, there you go, some grades. We can do it the week after when we got no game to review. Oh, that's true. We'll do that. So we'll make all our picks. We'll do our fantasy stuff. One pod next week, though. Yeah, one pod next week. That's what I'm saying. So we got one this week at Thursday and probably next week at Thursday to pick the following games. We'll see you then. Come to jkgame.com. Follow us on Twitter. You know all the rest. Go to iTunes. Subscribe to the podcast. We love it until Thursday. I'll have to say, and as always, Bill Jepsen.
