09 Jake: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away from the bad news. Welcome to Jake Keenan Podcast. Welcome to Jake Keenan Podcast. My name is Jake and joining me for the 203rd time, boy we're in the 200s, is Justin. How are you doing and how long do you want to apologize to our fans? Justin: Apologizing for, what? For... apologize. Just apologize for a small- No, if the Jets don't show up, I don't have to show up. Is that what- I think we've used the excuse like six times. That's a good rule. It's not an excuse, it's a rule. Jake: Terrible. Well, we're back and hopefully the near kids are back and hopefully Geno Smith, good Genos back. We'll discuss all that and more. We're going to do the game recap. We're going to pick a full of the game. We're going to go over any injuries that are outstanding. And we're going to go on a news that's hit the wires. Maybe talk about the playoff picture a little bit. And then we'll get into our week 13 pick-em. Oh, we also have discussed the Jet Kingdom. I know it's irrelevant to you, but it's not relevant to me. I'm still having a row and then we'll do the jacking to pick them for week 13 and then do all our thrown picks and then we out for Thanksgiving. So let's get into it. Let's talk about the game that was. This broke history. Broke history? Because for the first time we were... We decided, now you and I go to a lot of games together. We thought, and when we go to games, we generally win. So it's like this year, we thought, we'll throw it off by not watching the game together. Primarily because I just come back from a long trip. You just come back from a long trip. I didn't see my wife. She was watching the Dolphins game on the earphone thing. And she was a little bit like, well, if Justin's here, Justin: He's gonna be and she wouldn't like that. No, she doesn't like me. She loves me. She doesn't like I think that's true She... Jake: Like there's a difference. You couldn't love someone and not like them. I think she likes you in... in theory. But that's reality. Like if you just met her on the street and you said, Hey, you like Justin? Oh, I love Justin! You want Justin to come over to your house? No. No. Don't want to see him. Justin: Can he sit on the couch? No. Jake: No. You cannot sit on the couch. You sprawl.
23 Jake: You sprawl on the couch. You're a little man. That didn't help. So at least we know that, you know what, JED fans? You know that it's not us. It's not us cursing your team. We thought it was us, and we were willing to make the sacrifice of not watching it together. You were not allowed into the command center until after the game, but it didn't help at all. We had our third worst drubbing of the season. Justin: Oh, it was so bad. I hated it. Against the Ravens. I hated it so much. Let me start this off. Alright, start it off. So. I like we just read through all your text for that day cuz that would be fun. Oh my god You went quiet there in the third. I Hate I hated it. Yeah, um Jake: so I like to read the ESPN New York Jets blog. I know it's written by rich to meanie who you're not a fan. Oh, he's a hater He fucking hates the Jets. He's he's realistic at times. No, he hates so he he posed the question. He pondered What if scenario a what if, at quarterback? Oh So a lot of people are, it's kind of split. Uh, that's statistically probably pretty easy. I mean, he's feeling is that there's little doubt that they'd be better than five and six. Meaning he thinks they'd be better than five and six. Um, not matter, but he wrote some interesting statistics. This paragraph is paragraph. You know Sanchez endured his clumps in four seasons. Yes. He never back games with had to be ready to 3. Okay. I sense Gino has. Get ready. He never went four straight games without a touchdown pass. He never went three straight games with a single digit completion. Three straight games with single digit completions. And not even in like his rookie season, did he do any of those things? Gino has done all of that. Yep. And has pretty much about as many turnovers already. This year, right. Then five games ago, Sanchez's worst season. Totally. I mean I think as the season has gone on that question is getting more and more... He has gotten worse. Isn't he supposed to get better? Well here's the thing. There's two sides of the equation of what can happen.
01 Jake: There's who's the players on the field and there's the player. So when I say that I mean... You can say... Again, it's kind of like, it's an age-old argument. If you take Tom Brady out of the system and you put him in the team that has this, and does he make, you know, it's one of those things. It's like, is it the players or is it the players or the player? So while I agree that looking at it straight now, and I'd say in the last couple weeks Because my feeling up to this point has been, I think it's pretty much a toss up. And I feel like there's been a couple games where I've seen Gino do some pretty nice stuff that I'm not sure I ever saw out of Sanchez. So it was always like he's like doing like a 52-48 on Bienvenu Sanchez. And it certainly flipped in the last couple weeks because he's now he's being consistently terrible. And he's doing back-to-back terribleness. And when he's... When he's getting bad, like Sanchez, I think that's a good stat. Sanchez would have a bad game, but he wouldn't have four in a row. He'd have a bad game, and he'd pretty much bounce back. Like, he, you know, he came back from the worst drubbing, ever, in, you know, the Patriots game. The first Patriots, you know, the drubbing, the whatever. And he played well. He played, they shut down the offense on him and they said you're gonna play like this, but it worked. So who's to say? I mean, it does look like it and just using logic, I think... I think there's one or two games that we would have won and just one or two games we would have lost. I think net net we'd probably be like one game up. from where we are. Justin: Probably about one game. Jake: I feel like we'd be six and five, not five and six. There's probably, like there's some games we were gonna lose regardless. I feel like we win that first Patriots game, but maybe we don't win the second one. I don't know. Right. It's like one of those. You know, it's hard to say. That Bills game was miserable. I feel like we win that one. Yep. Um, he always seemed to beat the Bills. The three, and the three pick games, the four pick games, the ones I don't feel like he would have multiple of those. He had a couple of them, and he had a four pick game. He certainly did. Or a five. He had a five. Justin: He was worked a year, I think. Against the Bills. Against the Bills. Against the Bills. Yeah, I remember. So, I don't know. And the weapons this year are no worse than they were last year. Jake: Yeah, but statistically, he was not great last year. No, but he was better than this. Well, this. This is this is getting I like the kid but man is this getting brutal This is getting to the point where it's like so let me ask you the question and it's on everybody mind Do we with this dominating defense at this point? Do we actually have a better chance of win? Justin: I'm not same thing to me. Yeah, they're kind of to me the same difference Jake: You might get like the one game bump like the one game Greg McElroy comes in and wins a game pump, right? But then you start him the next week and teams prep for that and it's like oh shit
00 Jake: He just got sacked 12 times like right. Oh, I feel like the pedigree on Gino is better than Sims, which is odd say cuz Sims is like the son of Well, when it's actual pedigree much better, but he's he's got more physical talent. That's for sure Um, right. But then there's physical talent versus mental talent. But we don't know enough about Sims really. We, we, we, we haven't seen him play a meaningful minute. That's true. Or a meaningful snap at all ever. Right. So we have no clue what he would do if he started a game. But so here's the question. You're the head coach of the New York Jets. You're in a position where you still still have the ability to make the playoffs, which is crazy. Get in there in there I think the leash has got to be very very tight because honestly, we don't glared you know Smith a other than we owe a second rounder. Hello, Kellen Clemens. Hello, Kellen Clemens. Meaning second round pick, he's now being fucked up on another team. Like we'll- Well he's starting actually. Right, we're starting because someone else got that. Yeah, so he's still starting. But I'm saying, we don't owe him anything other than that. And if you think that... And I don't think that Matt Sims has some sort of magical power. But if he has one or two less interceptions in him, a You know, like if our backup quarterback was a veteran and I'm not counting David remarks, I don't think he could play. - No?-, but let's just say it was um, I don't know. Kyle Orton. Kyle Orton, okay. Okay. Who's like the backup in Dallas. Right. Or, um, or Fitzpatrick. Ryan Fitzpatrick. Great example. Or like Mark Sanchez. Or Mark Sanchez. Another. or even the guy in Miami, with more. and I- I don't know if he can do it. Because now that I'm seeing, and as you see the weather turn, You're seeing things that were taughth That didn't stop Joe Flacco from throwing the ball 60 yards down the field. That didn't stop... No, that guy has one of the the best arms. ...one of the best, one of the, like, It didn't stop EJ Manuel from throwing it over our heads. Right. It's not. It's not like he had great receivers either. EJ Manuel, he's throwing' throwing the guys I never heard of.
01 Justin: No. So we have guys that no one's ever heard of too. I, I totally, I totally... He doesn't even try! That's not that is in Marty. I don't know now Jake: I don't know if he's out there looking and he's like staring staring down at the line of scrimmage. He's like shit I'm gonna get sacked and just Dumps it off or get sacked or runs or does something like there's no doubt the kid has a big arm Like, he's got a cannon. He can run. So like, what's... He's not doing it. Dan Dierdorf sitting there during the game and like, Telestrating how his eyes are locked on a guy. Well, then how he then throws it to that guy and the defender just says, Yeah, I know you're throwing it here. And knocks it down. Or picks it. Or picks it. He is definitely, I mean, he's definitely showing all the stuff that you see in typical rookies. And this is why rookies generally do well. And again, we've been in a kind of last couple of years where some rookies have stood up and shown that they are very good. Our rookie got us to an AFC championship game. Yes, our rookie did. That's all I'm saying with a team very much like this. I still think they had more talent on the team than us two. Justin: Very much built the same way. Jake: I still feel like... Yeah, But I still think they had more talent. Is there anything to take out of this game? I'm not talking about this game. No, let's name your fool the game. I got mine. I have yet to name Gino anything and he is finally getting it. Sorry dude, two in a row. You're getting it. He's the fool. I've yet to name him a fool or a knight because I don't feel like it's right, but now I'm on it. That's it it. Sorry, man. You can't score three points and like. Think that it's somebody else's fault, right? I'm actually going on Ed Reed. Thank you. and couldn't do it. Like if that that just... He did break up a touchdown. He did break up a touchdown, but he did that one huge play. It's like you played on the team forever. You know exactly what Joe Flacco is going to do. You know who he's going to throw to and your whole thing. Everybody talked about all week was get Ed Reed to cover the back so that you can't have these bombs anymore. He'll stop that. Well, he didn't stop that. No. Now looking, what is Gino's like? those k the to the ESPN of the the ESPN 12 his his his
06 Jake: 18 18 interceptions. Yep. Not And now the downs are starting to pile up. I still feel like we're ripe to go pick a quarterback in the first round last year. There's plenty. There's going to be plenty. And I want one. I'm sorry. I want one. This guy. I want something. I want a skill player. I don't mind if we go in next season with two guys, one who's like had a year and maybe he, you know, they battled up fine. You know who was thinking this is a backup. So let's say we don't go over quarterback. Justin: Let's say we go corner again. Yeah. In the draft. I think I think we're going to pick offense. I'm feeling we're picking an offensive player next year. So Here you know this thing is a backup I'm guessing this is an NFL player because you don't know college players Jake: No, I'm saying it's a like a backup to like be the be the guy Mark Sanchez with the pay cut No, he'd have to he'd have to go down to like season set I think Matt Schaub. Matt Schaub's out of Houston. He can't, right? I feel like he's like to be a good backup. Like he's a guy who's won it. He's a guy who's been successful. At this point, I don't think he's a starter anywhere. No, probably not. And so I feel he, you know, he probably cost a couple million bucks, but has experience. I feel like he could be a good backup guy. And then he'd be a guy that if Geno starts to struggle, put in that shot. Fine, I'm good with that. The guy's not great and he throws threes. I don't really like it. I'd rather Geno just be good. How about that? Justin: Yeah, that's great. Oh, you want Geno to be good? I want Geno to just be good. Why don't we move along? Jake: Alright, let's move along. Sorry we didn't really talk about the game. The game sucked, okay? So we're not talking about it. No, we're talking about the big issue, which is Geno Smith. I mean, that's sort of the issue. Thank you. Justin: Whatever. Well, all Powell's just as good if you ask. I feel like Chris Ivory runs a little bit. Jake: I know it's a stupid saying, but he does seem to run a little a little more angry. He, he runs harder in the middle. He just seems so powerful. And he's always just constantly moving and just like, rah, he wants to get through that guy. It seems very hard to tackle. He does. Like, I wouldn't want to try and tackle him. No, he looks like he's gonna go through you. He would would hurt me. But here we go. I mean, just as a note, we started the season with what we we thought, thought was, we got these three guys, we were down to one and it's not, and not in the playoffs. Yeah. So anyway, that happened. What else we got on the news
05 Jake: radar? I mean, it was a crazy week of football. Yeah. The The Sunday night game was as epic as it was supposed to be. Yeah. An overtime win. I am convinced, convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt. Okay. That the Broncos cannot and will not win the Super Bowl. And why is this? And leading up to the Super Bowl those playoff games are gonna be cold and windy and the Super Bowl itself is gonna be fucking cold and fucking windy Right like really cold and I saw what he did and he can't throw He's got to wear a glove. He can barely get the ball out of his hand He can't throw it more than 20 yards like he's he can't it's it's sad. Actually cuz he's so good But he just can't like you watched the difference between Tom Brady throwing into the wind right and Manning throwing with the wind at his back and Tom Brady's just driving the ball through the air Throwing the ball down the field Manning couldn't even get the ball out of his hands Yeah, it's like he's thrown to the sidelines of flutter balls. So I don't think they can If Manning's not Manning and he's not, he's just not. Well the other thing is, you know, who's to say he ever was? One of his knocks even before surgery, before anything was he plays really great on, he plays really great at home, in the dome. But then his knock and the playoffs he had to go to places and he... He lost a lot of those games. So this isn't even like a post-surgery and age thing. He never kind of hit that mark. He was never the guy who like, oh. But he did win a Super Bowl. He did. But again, that's not the same. Justin: I don't think they, I don't think, Jake: I don't think that's a lot. I mean, they also think that games are more, cause even their home field advantage isn't really an advantage to them other than the fact they're home. You can't help the player. Oh, you would think so. Holy shit, Denver. Other things from week uh, week 12 on the board? Um... Justin: I think they're now done. That was a little weird. 49ers in... That's the kind of game that they win. Jake: 49ers are in their regular, in their weight season push where they start to get good. Well, they played a shitbag team. They did. Washington's terrible. And we had our first tie. Yeah. In, I think, like four years. Love ties. I think it was Cleveland, Pittsburgh was the last tie. Love ties. I don't know why I remember that, but that's what I... Ties are cool. Justin: Ties are wanna talk about so we'll tell you something about ties Jake: So let's talk about I think you want to talk about the jet Kingdom fantasy league I'm gonna rant about the fantasy league for a second So remind everybody what this is just in case of the first. This is the
03 Jake: We have a jet Kingdom fantasy league where the two of us and ten of our loyalist fans Who's most loyal fans don't know how to set their lineups? to join us to play in a fantasy league together s and This last week I was playing against Cromartie Gra Jessie who I've been tweeting back and forth with oh, yeah, then well before the game started I was losing before that Monday night game. I had Colin Kaepernick ready to rock. Ready to rock! And that was it. It was just Colin Kaepernick was the last guy to go for the week. And I needed 24 points to win. 23 to tie. I get 23 out of Kaepernick. Yeah, I'm like sweating it out because he's kneeling down at the end of the game. Right. And losing yardage. Right. And I'm like, oh, please don't lose that one point. the. Please don't lose that one point. So on Monday, so I'm like, oh I tied all right. I can do other tie that was pretty good for coming back They take 16 yards away from Brian because he like fumbled the ball and Got and like the ball went backwards. 16 yards, but went out of bounds. It wasn't a fumble lost It was just like K I just like he didn't gain those 16 yards. So he went from 102 yards to like 86 yards or 88 I'm still in the playoffs and this is the last week. and that is it. Everybody else is in the dumpster. I think Wins a, of- I and be. That's true. That's true. I don't want anyone else else lose. You're in the matter, good for. A-
18 Jake: I don't want to Um, but yeah, we do this week though. Justin: in and Jake: Which is 930 out on the west coast. Nice. So awesome. Justin: You literally roll out of bed and you're like, oh, coffee is game. Jake: Don't even get out of bed, just turn the TV on. There you go. Detroit, as per tradition, is hosting a Thanksgiving I feel like I've seen Aaron Rodgers. It's always Detroit at home. So tear up Detroit a few times, but there's no Justin: turn Rogers it's Matt Flynn to the rescue Jake: better chance to win I assume but the guy scored touchdown I guess markedly and and I I'll see you next time. one of these games. Give me Detroit. Detroit's on this weird slide though. They're like, they're not, they're not, they're not, they're still at the top of that division. They need this game. I like them. I actually think Green Bay. I, you know, I'll take the points in Green Bay. Okay. Dallas is hosting the 430 game and are giving 9, 9.5. In Dallas in Dallas, obviously, yeah I don't know. I feel like that's too many I feel like that's too many for mr. McGloin and Oakland. Isn't that their starter? McGloin? Yeah, that's the point Yeah, who cares they hung in there last week They can hang I think they can run the ball. I think this is what America's team on America's day. Just
04 Jake: Beats the hell out of them. I don't know if that's gonna happen. I'm gonna take Oakland. I'm taking Dallas I like that nine and a half. Look at that. We already got two differences. Good. I'm already I'm feeling good Justin: Marty's two down The nightcap at 8 30 and both these teams just lose no, they could tie Jake: Baltimore is hosting Pittsburgh and Baltimore is favored by two and a half These That's rough. I think it can happen. I'll take it to Pittsburgh. There we go. There's three. So there's our Thanksgiving Day predictions. Justin: On to Sunday. Cleveland is hosting the resurgent Jaguars. Jake: I think my Browns are officially done. Terrible. They're in tank mode. Jacksonville should be in tank mode, but they're not. They're trying to win. So give me Jacksonville. to stick it in there a little bit. I don't know if they're going to win, but they're a tight game. Justin: You have a random weed. Jake: And, so you have a couple. You have a couple white a week. So this is one of the one I'll take Jacksonville. All right. Justin: Moving along division rival game. I feel like this is the easiest pick of the week. Jake: I don't know why Indianapolis hosting Tennessee, indie giving four and a half. They just get off to the worst starts, right? And then they just have to crawl and fight back. And I don't know if they're built to do that anymore without Wayne. They can't really throw. I'm going to take my points and my Tennessee and I'm going to take that and stamp it. I think this is a comeback game for indie. They lost last week, right? And badly. Yeah, but they've been like. Losing yeah, they're not that good. I guess I know they're really not lost a a ? They're offensive coordinator is shit. I Stanford, he coached Andrew Luck at Stanford and all the guy Yeah, throw it deep a little bit, throw it down the Alright well, they're still winning games. So there that pick is coming lower and lower but whatever. Yeah, but still I can be hey Justin: Would you rather have Trumford's in on your team or a second first round draft pick next year? I'd like to have to Jake: Would you like to have raevous on your team or a second first round pick in your
07 Jake: By the way, he's hurt is he done. Yeah, I don't know but he's heard Oh, he didn't finish that game saying he's my not gonna play it. But anyway, go ahead So Minnesota's hosting Chicago. Um, this line is flipped. Minnesota, yeah, it did flip. Um, Minnesota, not very good. I think that's a Forte flip perhaps. Or is it a Cutler flip? No, if it was a Cutler flip, I think it would go the other way. Um, I think. Minnesota's favored by one. They were... Dogs by dog by two and a half. I think that that's because I don't think Forte is going to be playing for Chicago. I'm not sure it matters. Minnesota's not very good. Chicago and the prospective can score. Minnesota will be able to run the ball's or second easiest. Well, you've already proclaimed an easy pick. Second easiest. OK, this is easiest. Give me Chicago. Here's a tough pick. Philly coming off their bye and looking good off the bye. Hosting Arizona who's on fire. Like they're just beating everybody and their defense is good. They're. Carson Palmer all of a sudden knows how to throw the ball to the correct team I like Philly though at home given three Yeah, off their by at home and Arizona having to go doing the West Coast 10 a.m. Game, right? Don't like it Don't like Arizona. They had a great game last year, but I think that was like their shot Yeah last week they they might have They might have Done too. Well, right? There's that weird thing in the NFL like I boost someone out. I'll just take it easy this week, right? I don't know. It's a weird mentality But some teams have it some teams don't but is Bruce Aryan's a hell of a coach I think so Arizona is 7 and 4 so far. That's pretty good All right. Let's keep going Carolina hosting Tampa and Carolina giving eight and a half. Carolina on this win streak, they pulled that out of their ass last week against Miami. What a win. You know what they're doing though? They're doing the thing that good teams do, which is good teams beat bad teams, and then when they have to beat a good team but beat them closely, like they pull it out, they beat. New England they beat Miami not that that could be San Francisco Right, like they're Miami was the trap game for them. It was and they did not they almost did they certainly almost did You know, they kind of pulled it out at the end Tempere is what now what are they were three and eight they got three games in a row they've won All of a sudden, you know, they're Mike Glennon looks better than Gino Smith. All of a sudden, right? They're running the ball. They're playing solid defense. They're getting eight and a half points here.
01 Jake: And I'm gonna, I'm gonna take the points. Yeah, I don't like the points. This one, no, Reavis on this game. No, for Reavis to cover. I feel like not sure it matters. I think it matters because if you don't cover one of their two receivers, Ted Gindun is having a little resurgence in the world. Yeah, but that's not who Reavis would be covering. Justin: No, he'd be covering Steve Smith. And he doesn't do anything. He hasn't gotten more than 60 yards in a game this whole season. That's true. So who cares? I'll still take Carolina. You know who's on fire? Cam Newton's on fire. Cam Newton is... Jake: Unfortunately, never mentioned with like Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck and... RG3 and Colin Kaepernick like he's the same year as Colin Kaepernick like everyone throws Kaepernick in that group Because he had a camp because he didn't start that year Cuz he started the year well, right cuz Kaepernick was a second round pick in the draft that Cam. Was the first overall pick right and Kaepernick sat there while Cam started the whole season, right? But right now Why can't Cam be in that group? Kind of. Weird write about like Write about writers write about like those Right. Right. Why how did Kaepernick sneak in there and cam just sort of left behind? I guess it's winning But yeah, well he's winning now. Yeah, that, what's theBall the talent he's winning and he's doing well Justin: I got all the physical talent that any of these guys have And he's got that thing that he's got Big Ben. Jake: Like he's just massive. He's huge. He cannot be pulled down. I watch that game. It's like Andrew Luck. Justin: Because he looks a big boy. He... Jake: So Cam's on my fantasy, on another fantasy team. So I really watch his games intently. And I watch him specifically. Like I'm really just focusing on him as fantasy will do to you. But watching him, you know, just watching people try to tackle him, and he's got that thing, like you'll get a guy at his feet and another guy's tackling him around the middle and he just literally just pushes him down like a giant to fleas and then bumbles off. And then he can move. For a big guy, he can move. And then he's got a good arm. So he's, you know, he's really turning around. I like them. Eventually they're going to have to hit a road. They're going to have to hit a block because I don't want them to keep the win streak up? Because then you have that like you go into the playoffs and you have a game then just someone comes in and smacks you in the face But but go Carolina kind. I, I Kinda like in them until they meet us. Maybe we'll be that team that beats them. Yay Maybe alright Okay, so next up skip ity skip ity. You don't gotta tell me twice Justin: San Francisco. How many 4's? Three 4's. You got three games on the Nintendo still. That's true. They could have zero 4's. You have another 4 on Thursday. I guess. Jake: Three's fine. Are there any good ones? Yeah. Yeah, one good one. There are good games here. Yeah, there's two good ones actually. Justin: Um, actually you got four four o'clock games. Are you talking? Where's the third? Oh, I scoot I scooted by it Jake: But we skipped it because it's an answer. That's right. All right, there you go. Nice full week here No buys buys are over. That's why I'm nice. So San Francisco is hosting st. Louis San Francisco giving eight and a half
06 Jake: That's too many st. Louis plays them tough. I like st. Louis. Give me that ditto Okay Denver in Kansas City Denver favored by four and a half. I don't know why I Feel like that's wrong. I just watched Denver play in a rowdy like cold weather type of situation Kansas City just played them two weeks ago they're gonna go to school on what New England did to them in the second half. And on defense and really the whole game like Denver scored on defense their offense didn't really score that much right so I like Kansas City with the four and a half This is the one I have this is the one I have or I'm gonna stick with it But it's the one that I'm I'm not loving I just feel like they pick. I don't love I just feel like they split yeah, I mean all right, San Diego hosts Cincinnati San Diego favored by one since he coming off a by San Diego coming off a crazy last-minute win against Kansas City. I like Cincinnati off their by to beat San Diego. San Diego's so up and down. Yep, I agree. They're gonna, they're gonna, this will be a good, uh, what's his face game? Dalton game. Yeah, he'll probably play pretty well. Um, the Giants on Sunday night football. At Washington, Giants favored one and a half. This is flip two. Yeah. I like the Giants. I think this flip because of Monday night. Washington's terrible. Their defense can't stop a nosebleed. They're terrible. And RG3 doesn't look very good. No. I know San Francisco makes everyone kind of not look very good, but... I mean, they couldn't do a thing. I know the Giants defense is nowhere close, but I think Eli is going to have a fun time on Sunday night, Justin: because Washington's terrible. Eli is not Eli either. He's just. Yeah, but he's good enough to eat that piece of crap defense Jake: alive. Andre Brown, too. I'll take the Giants. And for a change, the Monday Night Game is better than the Sunday Night Game. It's the best game of the week, I think. It's like the game of the week is on Monday night for some crazy-ass reason. Justin: Well, it's one of these luck things you can see that they, you know. I don't think this is a luck thing. Jake: This is a, these two teams are gonna be good and they snagged it. Seattle is hosting New Orleans. And this is a big game
04 Jake: They're a bunch of cheaters. Right one of them for a year. I think they're both appealing for this substance abuse or drug something or other But last year they had the same thing happen to them like three of their guys on the on the on this drug suspensions I don't understand what they're doing in Seattle Dear antler spray or something What I use I like Seattle at home five. I don't care. I like five's fine. I like Seattle to win the game I think it's gonna be closer than that. I just Drew Brees. Yes, I know on the road in Seattle, but I think they'll keep it closer. We beat Drew Brees Justin: And I know we did up Drew Brees. We beat Drew Brees. All right Jake: Move right along. Let's go to Justin: the throne picks New England is in Houston Jake: favored by seven and a half points. And I don't even think that's close to correct. Shouldn't that line be like 13? Should be. Houston. It, terrible. but you notice n Not good enough. I agree, but this is the game I think that if they were going to be a let down game, this would be the game. But I'm saying New England 28, Houston 13, they'll cover the spread. Not good enough. All right, Atlanta is... What's your pick? You have to pick the score. This is how this works. I did 34-10. Didn't I say that? No you didn't. You said not good enough. Justin: Oh, not good enough. 34 10 34 10 Atlanta heads to the frigid cold buffalo Jake: That's good buffalo buffalo off a by after beating the Jets I Don't know I feel like Atlanta's gotta win one of these games. They're terrible. Just keep saying it But some of the teams we met that we beat and we thought oh wow we did a good job I look back and like god they're terrible Tampa Bay in Atlanta the two teams will be beaten. I'm like they're terrible like yeah We're in town. We believe them two good wins this year to Pat Patrice and Patrice the who Patriots I don't even say their names. I hate them Yeah Patriots insane. So those are two good games two good wins Justin: Both defensive stands. Both at home. Both at home. No good road wins.
00 Jake: Well, Atlanta would have been the good one. It was a good game and we kept it in there and it really was before Atlanta sort of fell apart. They were they needed to win that game more than anything. Like they needed that game. They were 0-4 remember. They needed that game. Were they 0-4? Yeah, didn't that make them own for? Okay, they were always on some day were they were reeling like that was the game They'd won that they could have gone that could turn their season. I don't feel like they were winless I don Justin: Alright, so what do you think it's gonna happen like Atlanta wins here? Atlanta wins 23 16 Jake: They're gonna be close. I think it'd be crappy weather. I think it'll be just a lot of running field goals 1617 Buffalo Then on the game of the week. Game of the one o'clock afternoon in Meadowland. Game of the game that's happening here in New York. You can sense our enthusiasm is dropping. Justin: Are you coming in the game or not? You got the invite. I have to decide if your wife did say that she'd rather have an empty seat. Jake: She said she'd rather have Elijah. Justin: She said she'd rather have an empty seat than Nate. Jake: But towards the end she came around. Well, I'm also I am going to a Nick game that evening at 7.30. Oh, Sunday night. Sunday night. The Knicks are terrible by the way. Okay. Enjoy that. So I don't know if I want to go through double depression. Hopefully the Jets will. Steering in the right direction. I mean, I feel like Incredibly stout run defense, right? Which is legitimate Like best generally number one best rush defense Yeah, right the 20 or 10 pass but with the number one in Kratz not even about like in in years past like I feel like You know some of those Justin: like oh they're such a great run defense because you can throw on them right what's the other- Take those shots and you would the same Jake: Idea in mind you can't run on, the jets if you if your game plan was to I'm going to run And that's what I'm gonna Knew, I'm Feel not gonna happen for you And the Dolphin, do I think Ryan Tannehill can beat the Jets?
01 Jake: I don't. Oh, I think he will, but I think he could. I'm not sure he can. I've seen him playing, again, Dolphin's, I've gone to a Dolphin's game. the Jets then Giants and Dolphins in terms of the teams actually watch their full games and He's not bad he is not a bad player. He is he he's got a lot of Yeah, he the guy who's terrible. Well, but Well, he's not terrible, terrible. No. He'll catch two 60-yard passes like he did last week. Terrible. He's terrible. All right. Justin: And then Hartline's not terrible. He's pretty decent. Yeah, no, Hartline's not terrible. They don't have like- Jake: The hitting of the slot's not bad. Clay's not a bad tight end. Justin: They're not bad. Jake: That's why I- I just don't feel like their offensive line can hold up. That's it. Like, we'll just get up on him so fast. You know what's funny? In the last couple of games, too, we have not been sacked in the quarterback. or have you seen the the the the the the the the the the the We had one that was called or roughing the passer because it was around the ankles type of situation, which was a really rough call. Let's see. Justin: We had half there, three, four. We had four sacks. Jake: That's a real number. That is actually a real number. All right. Pace had one and Cobles and Richardson shared. Double digits and he's got four games. God. I'm not games. Yeah five games to go and he's already at 10 Justin: Abraham get it for this game or to his dad ten and a half in Jake: 2005 nice, but what's the auto time leader per season record for sex gotta be Gaston Oh, Justin: 21 Jake: Well, he was like the guy he led the yeah read the league in the season well He led he was the hour like single season sack total leader forever until Brett Fire gift wrapped it for Strahan fell down for Strahan thanks dickhead all right so give me give me a give me a key to the victory give me keys the castle first of all are you picking
20 Jake: So can the in Yeah, number one corner doesn't R.'s 17. It's disgusting. Nice. I Justin: Like I don't I feel go on that two-point conversion for. and the, a Jake: and the way and the way and the He just has to not do enough to lose and I feel like at home he plays much better. I think they're going to dial down the offense even lower and I think they're going to do a lot of design Gino runs. There's no, you know how he cannot throw a run with the ball. So run with the ball Gino. I'm sorry. Just. Pick it and run with it. And you'll get four or five yards and then get another three and then run it for two and just keep going down the field. But the thing that this game gets is set in stone by one thing and it's that deep pass. It's that thing that we've been beat on every week. It's that can we stop that two plays for two touchdowns
04 Jake: where... And Tamela has this ability. He's got the arm and he's got the guy. The question is, can we stop that guy? So to me, it's whoever's on him, and it'd probably be Milliner now. They might switch roles. On Mike Wallace. Well, it depends if Crow plays or not. Well, if Crow doesn't play, they're going to put... even if Crow plays. Okay, so that's the guy. So it's Wallace and Tannehill. . . . I think we can do enough in the run game. They're the 25 and ,' and I'm not worried about the run game, I'm worried about that game. I'm to happen that we A LOT of time a lot of people Justin: Two interceptions before the half, you pull him. Two turnovers
00 Justin: to turn over. It's realistic that he couldn't even that he could actually that could happen. I know. It's so sad. So I'm saying Jake: All right, so that wraps it Skywalker. We happy Thanksgiving. We'll get this out tonight. So it was Wednesday. So you guys can listen to it in your car, in your road, where you're flying. If you're not flying on the East Coast. Because this weather, that really wasn't that bad. We'll be back next week. Maybe with a win. Go Jax!
