20 Jake: Welcome to Jet King Podcast, the longest running New York Jets podcast ever period end of sentence. I'm Jake joining me for 450,000 times in a row. Sorry, 259 times in a row is Justin. Justin: Hello, sir. Jake: What's up Justin? Justin: Nothing, just, you know, chilling. Jake: What's up cranky pants? Justin: Chilling. Getting ready for the draft. after Jake: Yeah, you don't even watch the draft. Justin: You gonna watch this here? Jake: Oh, that's not a good reason not to watch the draft. Not at all. Not at all. All right. Well, let's talk about we're gonna make some we're going through talk about any news that came out last couple weeks. We'll talk about what kind of glist up the what we think are the biggest needs for the jets by position. That's what I was thinking. We start there and then we'll talk about the we'll talk about the draft and maybe some I have some like things I want to see some things I don't want to see. I actually have some guys I want them to draft and we'll go from there. We're not going to make like a round by round prediction. It's so crazy trying, every year I try, I read all the mocks, I'm like, okay, well we take this guy, this guy, but it's so all over the place, it's just hard to tell, unless you have top five, then you can go, okay, well, they take those four, and we need our quarterback, we're gonna take that guy. Like, then it's obvious. So let's start with... Let's start with your needs. Why don't we go position by position and we'll say, do we think they need someone or not? Let's start with... Let's start with positions. Why don't you start listing positions you don't think we need to draft anybody? Justin: Okay. How about that? Jake: defensive line clearly that's a good one so first question for you yeah are you up for and what do you think we should get for for trading for mo welk yep yeah you're up for it yeah would you take I had this conversation with another jet fan today Would you take... so they've been trying to shop a first, I think that's what they want. They've been trying to work with Chicago. Well, they want a first. And they want a first. Would you take a first next year and then like a second or third this year? Because I feel like next year's first are always less valuable than first year's first, but next year it'll be good.
05 Justin: I don't understand why. Jake: The point is they want to first. Why? Because. Justin: Why would next year's first be any more valuable than this year's first? Are you saying? Jake: It's less. It's less valuable. Like on a trade, when you see the trades, they throw in the year, the next year's first. It's usually. Justin: I would only do that with a team that I thought was going to suck. Jake: Right. Justin: Like that's a team by team thing. I don't think I would be like, you know, trying to. trade with just anybody for next year's for their next year's first I would I would have to think on each year's first is I really take Denver's first next Jake: year no yes they're gonna suck this year me awesome that yeah I wouldn't take the Patriots first Justin: oh by the way that's news they don't have a first so they'll have a first this year and say next year's first right Uh, would I take next year's first and get nothing from this year? Jake: Yeah, no, something. Like, something second, third, fourth, but something in that range. Like, not if this year's first. Uhhhhh... So you know what you're gonna get this year, but you have kind of a crapshoot next year. Justin: Yeah, I would. Yeah, I think I would too. I would actually. It's a first. Yes, as long as there's a second in there this year, I would do it. I think as crazy as this sounds, he is expendable. I mean, this sounds nuts. but he really is he's very good he's excellent he's a pro bowl player but Sheldon Richardson's better than him Leonard Williams was drafted sixth overall last year and by all accounts had a great rookie season again you can't really tell with these three four ends and I'm gonna do it so So, I feel like with Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson... and whomever you throw in the middle plus the depth and all the guys that they've accumulated in free agency Mohammed Wilkerson is a luxury but you don't want to have all that money tied up in a player you know it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense what do the stats look like? made like a face. Jake: Well how many sacks do you think he had in his... Mo Wilk. In his rookie year? Rookie year. 2011. 4 3 How much did Big Cat have? Justin: 3 Jake: I bet he had something wrong. I have to go and
01 Jake: look to say he'll run. Justin: If you look at the trajectory of Mo Wilk he's just gotten better over time. But coming out of college... There's no doubt who is the better of the two prospects. Leonard Williams was considered potentially the best player in the draft. Jake: That's also the year we picked Kendrick Ellis there in the... Okay, so you think he's a... You think it's... You got a younger guy, a cheaper guy. Justin: He's a luxury. He costs a lot of money. I understand that. We're strapped right now. And I think it all depends on your philosophy on the quarterback. Like, do you think we need to sign one or do you think we should draft one? Because depending on which way you lean on that very pivotal decision point, like, right, we need to sign a quarterback. Well, then you might. be more aggressive in trading Mohammed Wilkerson versus I think they're very similar players and will ultimately end up being very similar players. Jake: So it's, so you're willing to trade it? I am. As opposed to just being a man with riches. I just don't Justin: know if the three of them are on the field so much at the same time. Right. Like last year to get Richardson onto the field and that's why he's a better player, they just turn him into a linebacker. And you can't do that with just anybody. Right. It'd be kind of special to be able to just throw him in there wherever. So the three of them aren't really on the field all that much except for maybe third downs where it's definitely a passing situation. Jake: I feel like you can't let him go because he was a first round pick to start. That's fine. And he's been better than like a first round picks also go to shit. He's been a person pick that's the Justin: I And he's gonna want huge guarantees. He's gonna look at all these guys who signed these deals this year. He's a lineman And he's gonna want comparable money. I mean he is a very very very good player. I
08 Justin: He's been on one of the best units In the league for years and he's the anchor of it. So you can't understate how good he is the problem is we Listen we tagged him so we obviously want him back. We didn't pull a Josh Norman on him, right? We're not doing that we're not saying we tag you We're rescinding that because we can get I think they want Jake: Want to sign him, but I think they're also looking at a draft with six picks and this is for my big thing on the draft is 6. Why? What's... I actually have them listed here. 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, and then 2 and the 7. Oh, right. Anyway, I like... I love it when you're wrong. Justin: Now I forgot... I know we gave one up to get Clady. I forgot we got that 7 back. So to me, you have 6 picks. I like how you did this here. Yeah, I'm good. 83. 20 Yeah, that's great 20. Jake: How many would we have? We have five or six. We have six. But to me those two sevens are absolutely useless. If you look at our history of our seven thrown picks, they're useless. Justin: Do you know what those guys are? Big fat guys. They're either big fat guys or they're special teams players. Jake: Sure, but I'm just saying they're not... Justin: But you complained about special teams all last year. Jake: I get it and I don't think we have we don't have enough picks. We don't have enough picks. Justin: I think 6 is the right number of players to pick. No, we need more. Jake: 12 is too many, but 6 is too little. I think 6 is fine. You want to walk away with at least... Justin: 6 is fine. Yeah. Anyway. 6 is a good amount. We have picks in 1 through 4, which is great. And then you just have flyers in the 7th. Jake: Yeah, but that's the thing. You're missing... Justin: two rounds of you know you also have ryan cladey Jake: yeah well we'll see that's it i got you know it's it's always a start Justin: uh position so i don't think we need a defensive lineman good i'd still there we could use some depth at linebacker oh yeah both Inside and outside yep, I do think the secondary is fine Jake: Really? Yeah, most people have us picking a corner somewhere. I don't think that's necessary Justin: Interesting. I think at the safety position. We're fine. I agree with that known as this and corner position I think we're fine as well I think the defense is fine. There's a lot of weaknesses in the linebacker. There's little soft spots in there right in the middle, an edge rusher, but we've been saying that for forever forever. It's the offensive side of the ball that I think actually needs a little love in this draft, because I don't remember the last time we really focused and said, let's draft a first round pick.
06 Justin: offensive player. It's not been for a long time. When was the last time we picked an Jake: offensive player in the first round? Um it's been a while. Like Dustin Teller? For Justin: fucks sake right? If you like just go back with last year's Leonard Williams. The year before that was Calvin Pryor. I mean, who's the year before that? Jake: No, uh, then it was the Milliner and Sheldon Richardson. Justin: Milliner and Sheldon, Sheldon, I feel like that was the year before that though. I'm damn wrong. Milliner and Sheldon, I think you're right. Jake: Wow, twice in an episode, it's crazy. Justin: Keep going, because it's just defense. Then it was Kendrick. Jake: Copels. Terrible. You could just send those William then as then was Mohammed and Kendrick he wasn't first two second. You're right. No, we have not picked Justin: it was Kyle Wilson, I mean three your Kyle Wilson Wilson, right? Wilson these are all first-round picks going back You gotta go to Sanchez and Dustin Keller to get to first round offensive pace That's like seven years of not picking an offensive player in the first round. Jake: Yeah, I think there was the the pick for for Gino in the second. I mean he was supposed to be a first round talent. I know, I know. All right, so who so what do you got? What do you, what's our number one need going in? What's the number one you're gonna pick in the first round? What are you picking? An offensive tackle. Ah, fuck you. That's what I was going to say. I have a guy who I want, but I just picked a guy because it's like whatever. We need a tackle. Or Decker from Ohio State. That's what I want. Justin: I want the Notre Dame guy just because why not? Because you like Notre Dame. Yeah, but I feel as though he'll probably be gone. by the time it rolls around us. But we need a tackle. We need a tackle that can play... Jake: What about tight end? Do you think we need a tight end? Justin: No. Jake: I mean, currently we don't use them. We don't use them. But did we not use them because we didn't have a good one? Or did we not use them because that's just not the system? Justin: We didn't use them because... Well, first of all, I don't think we had one. Although I think Cumberland has shown that he can catch the ball. Yeah thrown to him I think Amaro might have been more of an option if he writes around So that's one of the other reasons why I say no because you don't mean the guy was just a second round pick two years ago and in good I think he works in that situation so I don't think so Jake: the
00 Jake: Is a 10 offensive tackle first round. That's right. I and it's it's very clear to me you lose D brick I don't think Ryan Quaidis anything more than a long-term answer and jock Meany on the right side is not a long-term answer either and we need we need more people need replacing them and Really? I mean man gold is somewhere in the you know draft is where you replace Lyman Justin: You don't want to be signing free agent linemen, they're expensive. Jake: And they take away from the position players where you can go out and get the Brandon Marshals and pay him money and get the Darrell Rivas and pay him money. Justin: We don't need receivers. We have receivers. Jake: I think there's a lot of talk about needing more speed. To me that was Devin Smith last year. Right, I agree. Justin: He's a training camp. Jake: And then he got hurt. Justin: He needs a full training camp. He'll be fine. Okay, you also need rookie receivers Jake: Rarely are very good. Although in the past like three or four years. They've been some really good ones Justin: That's because they're exceptional players Jake: It's okay. So You want to go offensive tackle in the first? What do you want in a second? I want to pick a guy who's not gonna play Justin: Okay, who is it? Jalen Smith. Really? Really. Really? Why? Because he's probably the best linebacker in the entire draft. And I watch him play a ton in college and he's great. And you just want to just sit him there and get better. Jake: See you another year. That's fine. All right. Justin: Because if you could come back a year later and you have Who's the best it's kind of like the Jaguars this year, right? It's just like drafting a guy and him getting Injured in OTAs right right the Jaguars picked third last year or something like that and they picked some edge rusher Who's gonna be Fowler? Yeah Yeah, this guy's gonna be fucking awesome in the Gus Bradley system cuz you know, he's gonna play the Michael Bennett roller their cliff a roll in the Seattle out of defense And he gets hurt and it's like ah, he's out the whole year I'll just pick number three overall, right? So now he comes back this year and you're like awesome I have two first rounders. I'm like this guy and this guy and he just sat there and he watched. All right fine I'll do that in the second round If he's hanging around at number, where we pick, 51 or something, then I'm good to go. Jake: 41. Justin: Why does yours say 41? But when I'm looking on anacryl.com, it says 51. And so you're probably wrong. Jake: I'm probably wrong. So I'll tell you, if there's a, there's a poll out there for, for the most, for who should we pick in the first round? First round? Oh wow, it's actually it's moved the polls it's been yeah, and it was set all the guys Yeah, it moved because it was off. It was Taylor Decker the offensive tackle from Ohio State and now it's moved Justin: And it's now packs a Lynch. So I think he's gonna go before we get a chance to pick
03 Jake: I don't care because to me I looked at his tape or I looked at his tape I looked at his like thing talking first round. Yeah, I'm talking first round Justin: I said I want to tackle in the first round. I know. I skipped to the second round. Jake: I know, and I'm saying, and I'm telling you what, what the people who are filling out, there's a lot of people have us picking a quarterback, and one of my things for this draft is no quarterbacks in the first round. I feel like there's no, I've looked at these guys, I'm like, what, what do they bring? Someone who, that we don't have on the roster. Do we have guys who... Might be good. We don't know. Let's let's see see how they go. I just don't want a quarterback I just don't unless it's and I don't even want those top to this top two quarterbacks The the analysts were ranking like the last three drafts like first round drafts of quarterbacks And they put these two guys underneath everybody else in the last three rounds like the last three years like they put them under Winston they put them under Mariota. They put them under so like these guys are not even I mean, yes, so the only two guys and everybody's trading to get up there. I don't know. I just feel like the only reason I would take a quarterback is if he fell. If he fell out of the first or second. And like, yeah, Pax and Lynch ends up, or there's Connor Cook, there's Christian There's these guys that like, you know. People are saying they're either rising or falling, but if they're falling into the third round, okay, I'll take one of these guys. But other than that, I don't really want them in the first round. Because if you take a quarterback in the first round, what that's saying is, this guy's gotta play. Justin: That's it! Nowadays! You're also saying Petty sucks. Yeah, and you're legitimately saying, we made this mistake last year. Well, not a mistake. We picked a guy in a fourth round, which is not a mistake. Right. But it's saying, this isn't the guy. Jake: Well, you have a second rounder and a fourth rounder on Justin: sort of flips on a dime when you decide I want to re-sign fits or I want to draft a quarterback Jake: in the first round. Oh trade away and get a top 10 pick. Well if you're gonna look at the bears Justin: they're picking 11th so you go up. I don't think there's anybody valuable up there. That's the point. You have to pick Lynch or Paxton right? I don't think so. I don't think so. I think Jake: Anyway. I mean they all said that people have us pecking, I mean one of the ones, the big one you see... Justin: But the, sorry, but the other reason why I was saying that, now, that really wasn't the main reason. Jake: People have us pecking Jaylen Smith in the first by the way. Justin: That's a little crazy, I think he'll be there in a second, but... And I think that would be honest, I really do think that would be a fantastic second round pick. Jake: But... Justin: The reason why I was saying, you know, you go with the veteran quarterback, if you trade Mo Wilke, if you keep Mo Wilke, then you might look to draft a quarterback is also the money
04 Justin: situation because you draft a quarterback to play right because we draft a quarterback well it's either him Gino okay because you're not gonna then resign Fitzpatrick right be stupid So I think it would be all about the money at that point because if you get rid of Mo Wilk, you can just re-sign fits and be like, fuck it, okay, fine. I just cleared 16 million. I can sign this guy and it can be incentive late in and make him think he's making 13, 14 million when really he's making six, like whatever, you know? Anyway, let's move on to the third. Yeah, do it. I'm gonna stick with my Notre Dame theme. Jake: Oh man, really? Justin: I'm going to pick Nick Martin, center, Notre Dame. Jake: Just going to lure up the team on Notre Dame. So you want to center in the third? That's not bad. Justin: I mean, I think, isn't he Zach Martin's brother? I think he is. He was a first round pick for the... Cowboys two years ago, who's like all pro, is playing guard. I feel like this is a guy who could come in and maybe even challenge for the starting right guard position immediately and potentially be groomed to move over to center at some point. But Brian Winters doesn't do anything for me at right guard. Like I know I know we got a good guard on the left side. I just don't think Brian Winters is anything special on the right side. And why not pick Notre Dame? Lyman are usually really good. Jake: I have those picking. So in second round, I want us to pick a defensive end because I feel like Justin: I'm already in the third. Jake: Right. But I'm just saying there's a guy who drops out because of all the shenanigans in the second and we grab. defensive. Well don't do very well with defensive in the first round. So let's grab one in the second which typically don't do very well either So I had to pick a Noah Spence from defensive end. I think there's I actually think there's More needed corner than you do. I feel like there's so up to me in the third I think we should go and grab whoever's left them. H preclude, I mean God, you can't predict it, but grab a corner in the third want to harken back to Justin: fourth round picks of years past Brad Smith Player, okay I want Braxton Miller from Ohio State He was their quarterback. He was excellent got injured They won the national title without him. They moved him into a, they turned him into a wide receiver. So he's a wide receiver who played D1 football at an extremely high level, I think Big Ten player of the year as a quarterback and can run.
24 Justin: So I feel like you bring a type of guy like that in for like Brad Smith style plays where I would go in the fourth, try and get a little bit of an opportunity. Jake: I would go running back. Because A, I've seen how fast running backs can be on your roster and gone, and I don for the long term is like if you look at our You Okay, so look at our roster now. Who is the long-term answer at running back? Not necessary. Yeah, but I want another guy. Because I think if you went in with four or five running backs into the training camp, I think that's fine. These guys get hurt so fast. Justin: They do, but it's not necessary, it's not necessary to think long-term about running back. No, but that's why you picked that. But that's why you picked the guy in the fourth round. That's not the position that you think about. and Jake: long-term that's why you pick in the fourth round because you got it I just Justin: pick them in the seventh like that's where I was going in here gonna go with a sevens who cares the undrafted guys are sometimes the best guys no I feel Jake: like you need someone in so I mean there's guys out there you know Jonathan Williams Kenyon Drake Alex Collins. I know I'm picking, I'm picking, no, I'm picking guys who are waiting to go in the fourth and fifth rounds. I'm like, I want one of those guys. I want to give me, I want a guy who, well, not the Alabama guy. Well, someone who like in the fourth round running back, come in at depth. And then I just don't, I just don't trust any of the guys we have on a roster to be for a spot and then takes over when Forte goes down and when Kerry Robinson turns into a pile of dust and where, you know, Balal Powell is, you know, he's not your featured back. So I think we need a featured back that's kind of post Matt Forte. And I don't want to go buy one next year. Do you think something do you think who's on a roster is the running back for the 2017 Jets? Justin: I think it does matter Jake: 2016 Jets I understand but I want to have a guy that we're bringing up to be that guy Okay, and then it's and the seventh round you want a running back I just want to... Justin: Two linebackers. That's right. Just pick two linebackers. They're usually from special teams guys. Jake: I would pick a... yeah. Or a wide receiver. Like you pick just a wide receiver in the seventh. I don't know. I mean, I'm... it's weird picking the 20th. It's like you're the...
00 Jake: I loved when we were picking the top, although it clearly meant that we were terrible. But um... But it's a weird spot because there's so many things that can happen ahead. And I wouldn't mind if they once or twice traded back and grabbed a couple more picks. I don't think 6 is enough. Remember that draft we went in and we came out with 4 guys? And at the time we thought it was such a great idea, but then it kind of fucked us for many years to come. I don't think 6 is enough. Justin: No. Jake: Like what's the number seven? There's seven rounds. It's like seven or eight. Yeah, you only get seven picks like well Justin: There's conditional picks. There's one set. Yes Jake: None exactly I Think seven or eight is the number Justin: I don't know who else left. That would be worth anything. The tyrant doesn't get anything. No. Cutting guys doesn't get anything. No. The raridavis Davis, I think is there. Jake: I kind of want a corner and I kind of want to receive her. Linebacker, Offensive Tackle, and then I don't know. If there's some crazy thing with, again, someone desperately wants something in the, I like a trading of the second round because I feel like you can still get, like, you can drop back like 10 and then get like a third or fourth, like, on the value chart. I really want them to pick up another. Pick. I just feel like six is just, especially when two, if you have six and they're all in the first and second rounds, great. You're gonna be making a big mistake. But like with two and the seventh, it's just, they're , it's Thursday night at eight o'clock. Justin: Five o'clock. Jake: No. Well, it starts at five. I'm sure it was like three hours of pregame. Oh, funny baby. most amazing draft we've ever saw. Justin: We have a quarterback. Next time we talk cuz I feel like we're either drafting a guy or Fitzy's coming back by the way you see he's Yeah, I saw at the Rangers game Jake: I don't want him back. Do you see what you're worse? He said today. Do you see what you're worse? He said Fine he's a dumb fuck but he said he said what everybody else has been saying they went back they go to this Justin: Oh, yeah, he's terrible He had a terrible year. His stats were good, but that's because if any quarterback played 16 games in an offense that throws the ball, you're gonna have decent stats. Jake: And played against some really shitty teams. Justin: That's just the way the NFL is.
01 Jake: I understand, but it's not like he played against top defenses, he played against shitty teams. Justin: No, I'm not talking about the schedule, I'm talking about stats. Yeah. professional football quarterback stats now versus what they were 15 years ago are Completely out of whack like you have guys throwing for 5,000 yards on the regular It's like a drew Brees doesn't throw for 5,000 yards Something's wrong and it used to be like if you threw for 4,000 yards Jake: You were a fucking god. I'm a reason what fits back is they bring him back to like like this year is gonna be so tough anyway. I feel like even we took- Justin: Why wouldn't you just want him to come back for the one year? Jake: Because then what? Justin: If you're throwing the year away and you think we have this incredibly difficult schedule. We do. Which we definitely do. We play these insane defenses. And we have tons of Monday night games and Sunday night games. Why not have a guy? Why not have a guy? to throw out there as opposed to a guy that's gonna get killed. Jake: Because I don't think that you can, I don't think that this NFL is about letting a guy sit behind for year after year after year. They talk about Petty as being like this four year project. Wow. He's not good. Well then, then I, then I changed my whole thing, draft the first cuter back that drops to you and move on. Who's saying he's a four year project? Well they say two to three years. Who's saying that? Rich Samini. Justin: What does he know? Jake: Well, I know he's a, but he's been covering the jazz for 26 years. He knows what the point is. He's supposed to a project. That's my thing. It's like, I don't want to walk away from next season being sitting here in 2017 going to do the same thing. Well, we got no quarterback. What are we doing? We need to figure it out. And the only way to figure it out, if you tell me that, if you tell you, you say Fitz is that good, then great. Sign him to a five year contract. If he's that good. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe and like, and share. If he's the guy who's going to lead your team, then sign up to a five year contract. He's a stop. But then. But how many years are you going to stop gap yourself? Don't keep stop gapping like to make a shitter until you're in a position Justin: to do something about it, whether whether whether there's a guy again, then fucking play Gino and go forward. Well, I thought I thought that we had a chance this off season. to to do something about it. Jake: And we take the take the RG three train. Justin: Yes, because guys like that don't become free agents all that often. Top two pick that has one in the league, has won his division, made the play. Jake: You saw that when I did that thing on the same stats and Vince Young was the other guy. Justin: Fine. But he made the playoffs. he he he's you know guys like that don't just become free agents they happen to pick two quarterbacks in the same draft and oh by the way the guy who ended up winning out the thing sat for two years and then sucked in his third year and then came around in the fourth so if you're
04 Justin: if you're Thinking that that's not a thing that is a thing same thing happened with Brock Osweiler Jake: He but don't tell me the Brock Osweiler was any good like based on what his five six starts Justin: Well, he did win a lot of games He's only played like seven games started. I think he was also sad because he started to be terrible No, he was sad because they were gonna let Manning play. Jake: He's sad in the middle of a game because he was throwing picks left and right. And they brought in Manning to like, because they were gonna win this game because their defense is so good, and he just kept throwing picks. Justin: Do you not think that... that Osmiler is good? Is that your thing? You just think he'sn I-,, out to bad. I think he's, you know, he's Matt Castle. on somebody terribly misjudged. Jake: Yeah, just like they did with Matt Castle. Justin: But what I'm saying is that free agent quarterbacks don't come around that you can say, we could have this guy for eight years. Jake: Because if you have a franchise quarterback, you never let them go. Justin: Right. Jake: So that's why these other guys that are out there, they're not franchise guys. Justin: But you have to be. They're not santries. You really have to be in a position to draft them very early. Jake: I understand. I get it. Or you luck out or you just keep trying. The only way to hit the lottery, although I don't believe in the lottery, but the only way to hit the blackjack or the, let's say the roulette. is to keep going and keep putting your number on 17. Justin: You know we drafted a quarterback like every year, right? Jake: Yep, yep. Justin: So your whole theory and strategy has not worked? Jake: Well, it hasn't worked in 10 years, but it could be it it will work Justin: Okay, just think about what you just said. I know it will work Your strategy hasn't worked. Jake: Well, first of all, we've had terrible scouting for the last 10 years. Justin: So I'm done with you. I'm closing my laptop. No, it has worked. Drop the mic. Yeah, it worked. Jake: For other teams, it's worked. For us, it has not worked. Many teams are starting quarterbacks who they drafted. Justin: Yeah, but they drafted them in the first round. Jake: Or the second round, or the third round, or the fourth round. Where's Brock last while we're prospective? So is he either that good or is he not that good? I don't know. I don't know. But why don't we just grab another guy? Justin: There's only so many like Russell Wilson's Tom Brady's out there. There's actually only two. Jake: True. Or people are all excited about. Or Ryan Mallets. Or round pick so there you go. You're gonna have to find a guy like that, but that guy sucks I know he says I don't want him on my team Justin: I actually think Jake: You know and the thing that I used to think that I used to be I used to actually get mad at people did this And this is during the middle of the season like when you're like, you know the whole
00 Jake: Basically the suck for luck. I used to be like get angry people who would try to say you should just Tank the tank, like Tampa Bay tanked two years ago. They literally intentionally tried to lose a game at the end of the year. And I used to be like, you know, that's terrible and you know, you should be winning and winning. I think I'm changing my tune because I now think that's how you're the Colts. You go from Peyton Manning, you take a fucking dive. and you get a great guy and then you keep going. And that's the way to do it. So that's why Geno Smith gets hit in the face, face fucked by IK and Paul Ali, which is a seven round pick by the way. You then say, Fitzy, back, back, Petty, go out there, fuck a duck, the entire season, see it four and 12, we're picking top three. Happy, happy. Happy. Justin: Not happy. Jake: No, it sucks to be there, but then you got one of these two guys. Justin: You're so... If it's the only way to grab a good... You're so off your rocker though. Because you know last year that you... I wanted Petty to start. No, you didn't. Yes, I did. When we were sitting there at 10 and 5... Yes. And you had our fate and our destiny on your hands. Jake: No, not at ten and five I didn't. Justin: Oh, well you were never fucking getting there. No, I wasn't. You definitely weren't. Jake: But I didn't want to say be the ten and five. Justin: Oh, so you don't want to be in the playoffs? Jake: We weren't in the playoffs. Justin: But you didn't want to be in the playoffs? Jake: We weren't in the playoffs. I'm done with you. We weren't in the playoffs. Were we in the playoffs? Did we get in the playoffs? No, he's out. That's Justin. I'm Jake. Oh, maybe back next week on Arguing Over the Mikes. And as always, let's go Jett.
