09 Justin: See them driven before you? And they have an implementation of the women. This is Jet King Podcast, Episode number 28, for Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008. Enter training camp. Well, welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. Here we are again on the brink of training camp. As always, on this side of the digital aisle, it is Jake. And as always, on the other side of the digital aisle, As excited as ever, it's Justin. Justin: Sucking down a, what is that, a Corona? It's a Corona, no lime. Nice. There's no lime in the house, but. Who the fuck puts fruit in their beer anyway? Jake: It's a daring, daring move to pick a crappy Corona and not put a lime in it. Delicious. On this side, I am drinking a vodka tonic. Justin: Delicious as well. Jake: With a lime? Actually, there is one in there. So, my drink has a 9 minute yours to not. Now we've settled all things popular. So it's been a while, been a couple weeks, or more than a couple weeks actually. It's been since, actually it's been over a month. Justin: But we're back and we're here. Well, you know what? It was the off season. That's true. And as you know, um... Everything's optional in the offseason. That's true including podcast podcasts are optional Jake: Just to give a little training camp is starting up. We have to get back on that's right And as training camp starts up, we're actually gonna get started back to our regular schedule probably starting with preseason So hang in there for those listeners I'll just let you know that have been watching the stats and they've been remaining high We've had some of our best days of subscriptions While we've been off so either people wonder why either people really like to listen to us not do things or they I don't know it doesn't make any sense to me But it's going up and people just like listening to us not be there Just fine if you don't want to listen to us already want to subscribe to us when we don't have something there Let's give the people what they want. And that's the end of that. And good day. But we do have some news. There's some news happening in the world of the jets and the NFL. There's trades, there's signings. There's also, there's, there's also some neat stuff going on. So let's, let's get right into it. I think first thing, actually let's leave training camp to the end. Cause that's cut. That's kind of like forward thinking. Let's talk about some things that happened in the last couple weeks. I think one of the bigger things is Chris Baker. The Chris Baker syndrome or catastrophe still continues. You're going to keep this going, aren't you? Well it's still news because you know what they did this week?
01 Jake: News to you. They put him on pup. So they put him on unable to perform, physically unable to perform. Thank you very much. Thank you for your time. and uh... that's the ultimate f u at some and g niez ten bomb waves saying listen we're not even gonna have you st do anything you'll sit you can you can ride your bike for a while though you Justin: know it is we we signed dustin keller and and uh... you know we also signed over franks so you know if this big is going to be a baby is going to be a baby and let him be a baby not on the team Jake: Yeah, I don't know. I still think he's a good player. He's not good enough to win. Who cares? He's not a great player. Not a great player. Justin: He's an OK player. He's average. Jake: Yeah, well, some would say that we've been signing some OK players and giving them lots of money. I mean, Orlando Pace is not like a. We didn't sign Orlando Pace. Oh, sorry. Calvin Pace. Justin: I wish we signed Orlando Pace. Jake: Calvin Pace. You know, there's players we've signed that have had one season and, I mean, Damian Woody, you know, he's a good player, but he got a shit ton of money. So anyway, I don't know. I mean, Chris Baker, I think he should have shut up. If he had shut up, he probably would have gotten what he wanted. I think after last year's situation, we're still going to be ending up in this. We're not giving in this year and and he's not a player that I think will impact the team like Like last year's problem child did Pete Kendall agreed agreed It's not that deal we but that leads us to the good news, which is we did sign Dustin Keller So our one of our two first round picks has already been signed and the rumor on the street aka the news or the google has it that we are in contracts uh in talks obviously with uh with ernan golson so hopefully we'll be able to get it done get it done yeah i mean you know last year it was uh with revus it took a while we i think it was uh a week week and a half into camp you miss some i mean you know it's hard to really tell does that really matter. I don't know, Reavis played really well. Justin: Um, yeah, but I think it matters for rookies. I think rookies should be there for like if they can day one, right? You know always helps to be there as long as you can Jake: Um, especially for the for yeah for someone who you really want to perform this year, you know I think they want him to be probably starting, right? I imagine. This isn't a guy who you're thinking, this isn't like signing Kellen Clemens years ago or you know, it's not like, oh well this guy might be good for us two, three years down the line. This is someone who we want to be dominating. Maybe not in week one because we don't care about week one, but week two we want that guy out there, you know, going after Brady and putting some pain down. Yeah, I mean. I wouldn't mind if he's out there week one putting some pain on Miami as well, but you know I say
01 Jake: Won't get green. What could you put what pain could you put on Miami that they have lots of pain that they have? Lots of pain which I think God we're just zipping through our little conversation here, but uh Which brings us to, I guess, some of the biggest news of the NFL in the last week. There's a couple trades happened and one of them involved Miami Dolphins. Jason Crybaby dancing boy Taylor. Why did you have to go there? Why'd you have to go there? Justin: I mean, that wasn't necessary. Jake: Because he's a Crybaby and a dancing queen. Go on. Ah, I have to go there because the guy has literally gone on record multiple times calling out Jet fans saying how we were loud and obnoxious and crappy people and stupid. I mean, I have his quotes. You want me to bring up his quotes? I literally have it. Where do you have it? How can you prove this? Can you show it? Okay. Can you rewind and... you know, make him confess. Okay, here we go. Um, what did, what did, because you know what happens to be, happens to be, How'd you get that so fast? Because I'm that good. Jason, because it's a fact on JetKingdom.com because I wanted to make sure that didn't go. So what did the Miami player Jason Taylor say about the Jets fans? The Miami dolphin player Jason Taylor had a thing or two say... about the JET fans in an interview before the game in September 2004. This is a quote. A bunch of them chanting their dumb ass chant and all that other stuff, being the ignorant fans they are, I said it, I don't care if they get mad at me or not. They don't like me anyway. Quite frankly, I don't care. I'm just being real. I'm telling the truth. You carry yourself with some class and we'll talk about you as if you have got class. If you want to act crazy and do all the crazy things they do, I'll call a spade a spade. So he called us classless and ignorant and dumb. Well, we are not dumb. Okay. Justin: Wait, wait, wait. I'm not done. Not done. Do you know what's awesome though? They haven't beaten us since that. day probably Jake: Since 2004 they have to be in two years. Here's another one That's awesome In the fact on jetking.com not to be outdone or his comments rest Taylor added these comments in 2007 with the two when the two and nine jets beat the 0 111 dolphins Right. We did here's what they here's what he had to say They stink too Taylor said they beat us they'll go home happy They'll go home happy and their fans will be happy that they got three wins this year good for them We got four isn't he a sweetheart? So yeah, do I call him a dancing queen do I call him a little Nancy boy crying boy? He was crying after the miracle in the Meadowlands the Monday night miracle that I witnessed in the stadium, he was crying because he was talking smack, talked to anybody
00 Jake: who was in the game, he was talking smack to the fans, and then as we all know, we came back and we won the game. So let me ask you something. Yes. Justin: Who was he traded to? Jake: I don't know, I don't care. No, he was traded to the Washington Redskins. For what? For a second round pick next year and a... I think it's either fourth or fifth in 2010. Yeah, I mean, you know, value. Justin: Maybe, who cares? I'm actually glad. You know why? Because he ain't going to be on their team. He's still pretty decent. And he's not going to be on that team that we have to play twice. And we don't play the Redskins. So I don't care. That's. Get out of here. And you know, maybe I'll care next year when they have a couple second round picks. And Parcells usually does pretty good when he. stacks those up but uh whatever I don't care now yeah Jake: I'll say I am totally happy to have him out of the NFC sorry the AFC East I'm totally happy to have him in another division completely out he's actually in the NFC he is we actually do play them by the way in preseason so just in case you're paying attention And just looking over our schedule, now we don't play Washington this year. No, is it value? I think for a building team, my only problem, again, as much as I really don't like Jason Taylor, I will say that he is the face of that franchise right now. I mean, who else? Exactly. Well he's not, he's not on the team. Well but he's not the face of that franchise anymore. I mean he... Justin: When Bill Parcells is at a team, Bill Parcells is the face of the franchise and that's just the way it is. Jake: So you're saying Bill Parcells is the face of the franchise? Justin: Yeah, that's the way it always is when Bill Parcells had the team, wasn't he the face of the Jets? When he was at the Jets, wasn't he the face of Dallas when he was in Dallas? No one else was. That's just the way it is. I guess. I'm not wrong. Jake: Well, you're wrong a lot, so it's hard to keep track. I know it's hard to crack up how many times I'm wrong, but this time I might have nailed it Not not even gonna go well within three years Justin: You know that they're gonna be okay because parcells does that he turns them into a parcells team and they play like They always play and they play pretty well. That's true. That's true. I agree. They'll probably be better Jake: I mean you can't you can't do worse Justin: No, you really can't do too much worse than they were last year. I still don't think that they'll be very good. But they won't be as bad as they were last year. They'll probably win six games maybe. Jake: Ooh, I was going to move with three or four. Oh, it's not really time to guess that. We'll do that right before the season starts. So that's Jason Taylor. I mean, again, I think. I think this is actually one of those deals that probably makes the most sense for both teams. Definitely the Dolphins need to get rid of him. He was not playing for them anymore. And the Redskins feel like they are one or two or three players away from making a next
05 Jake: step. I mean, they got to the playoffs last year, kind of on a wing and a prayer. and you know maybe one or two more sacks in one or two more games and they would be to that next level. Of course, that's in reality that never really works out that way. But good to see them gone. See you later. Maybe you can cry in someone else's stadium. Maybe you can dance your way to the bottom of the NFC. Good riddance. Good riddance. The other trade which is interesting, not really involving the Jets. That's all done. the server and Justin: it's like a busted where when this is a slight connection to the ice and are talking about the edge and shocking thing. The scene is among the player that played at the U , even in the teammates. When I'm talking about Vilma, of course, teammate, Shaki, perhaps maybe, maybe. but both played New York both now on the Saints. I think and I live with a Giants fan. Sorry about that. It's all right. Jake: How is it to be a Patriots fan living with the Giants fan? Is that tough? I'm not a Patriots fan. I was cheering for the Giants in that Super Bowl Justin: because we had a huge party where my roommates had a bunch of Giants fan friends over. And it's a lot of fun. But anyway, I digress. Yes. He was not pleased. He was not pleased. First of all, he was a big shocky fan. A lot of Giant fans are shocky fans. They liked the guy. They liked the fire. They liked the skill level at tight end when he plays. But they didn't mind that he didn't play at all when they won the Super Bowl. Well, that's the thing. He was like, you know what though, he won the Super Bowl without him. But there was one thing in particular that he did not like. And that was the fact. that, and I happen to agree with them, that they probably could have made this trade before the draft and actually gotten something this year for him, and maybe even better. Yeah. Like... But they get a second and fifth also? Jake: I think it was either a second and fifth or a second and fourth. Something in those hands. Justin: Something like that, right? But they probably could have even gotten... maybe not a first but a second and third in this year's draft and gotten some players for this coming season for him whereas now they're down a player and they didn't get to draft anyone for this year to replace him right even though You know they had that guy bought And they had that guy... What's his face? The blocker. Is this Shanko? Is he still on the team? Maybe not. I'm not sure. But anyway, they wanted to roll without him, so who cares? Jake: Yeah, I mean, I think it just more speaks to the Saints, not really the Giants. The Giants wanted to roll without him. They don't care at all now. It's about the Saints and the Saints seem to be making a push
00 Jake: I mean, they're they're saying, you know, they got off to a bad start last year. They went on for Justin: This is a team that was in the championship game this season before yeah, I think most of offense They lost dues if deuce pecala circus a healthy they have a shot and then Jake: Then they lost Bush, too. Remember towards the end, they lost Bush. So yeah, they don't go 0-4 to start the game. I think for the rest of the season, they did OK. They clearly are someone who they think that they're in it to win it and that they're a few players away. And with a Vilma and with a Shockey, they add in a couple of players and they're really there. I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. I mean, Saints are. See you next time. They're probably a team to be reckoned with. In other news, we have something announced in the middle of the show that's a first time for both of us to announce. We have a sponsor. I'm happy about this. It means we're going. We actually have a sponsor. I'd like to announce our first sponsor who is It is actually SportsMemobiliary.com. They sell New York Jets memorabilia. Their tagline is, find an awesome selection of autographed New York Jets memorabilia, all guaranteed authentic and with certificates of authenticity. I'm taking a look at the site now. They've got footballs and jerseys and helmets and mini helmets and photos All New York Jets signed, let's take a look at some of the footballs they've got signed. Curtis Mein, Curtis Mein, Curtis Martin, Chad Pennington, Freeman McNeil, they've got some cool stuff. So certainly if you're in the market for things like that, you can go to SportsMemobility.com. or head on over to JetKingdom.com and there's a link right on the home page. You can click on it. So that's our first sponsor. I feel it's like a moment. Justin: What it is, it's legitimate. It's legitimate. Jake: It's legitimate. It's a podcast. Justin: It legitimizes the fact that we actually talk to... Not ourselves, there are others listening. And people recognize that, sportsmemorabilia.com recognized that and said to us, please, we Jake: need to reach your audience. And I appreciate that they appreciate us. And we appreciate you, the audience. And now back to our regular schedule. podcast. So we got some other signings coming in. Let's talk about some Justin: other signings. I mean, you want to talk about Ahmaud Carroll? Yeah, it's an interesting signing because this is a guy who played in Green Bay. He was a number one overall draft pick. Not number one overall. He was the first round draft pick. I'm sorry. And he was never really panned out. He never really was ever all that great. on Green Bay. I think he only played there for three or four years and then he went on to
01 Justin: sign with Jacksonville last year and got cut after like one week. So it doesn't look like he caught on there, but the Jets coaching staff has a very... They're interesting. They turn... cornerbacks around now now I know like a guy like David Barrett they haven't been able to be able to be in the corner but you look at guys like Hank Poteet not a guy great at corner and they make him into something decent this guy obviously had the physical skills to round pick with a little coaching potentially be a starter or nickel:] Haha, gaping hole. It's not the quarterback. Jake: Here's the thing. I've had lots of opinions on this. I've read tons of on this. Here's the thing about Farf. I have one of my best friends who is a Packers fan, born and raised in the heart of the Cheeseland. and uh... I feel for him because it's like his guy forever now going away and going to play now in 10 years No one will remember who far played for for the second, you know the last two years of his life No, I'm sure you know, it will be far of the Packers But it would have been so much night so much better if he could have stayed there for his whole career. Now having said that, the problem with Favre, it's not the arm, it's not the whatever. He's got the ability, he's got the talent, he probably has got two, three good years left in him, clearly after what we saw last year. I think there's a few things that need to be put on the plate. First of all, the division. He didn't play in a tough division. In fact, he never played in a tough division. The vision he played in... was never tough. It was always yes it was always a no it was never tough it was never a tough division I mean I couldn't disagree with you more. What team in there has been a really good team over and over Justin: again the Lions. Are you kidding the Lions are the only team that hasn't been very no the overtime there has been In that division, Minnesota was very good for a good stretch, like 6-7 years. Minnesota was a very good team. As a matter of fact, they were the best team in the league one year. In the regular season at least, they didn't win the Super Bowl, but they were the best regular
03 Justin: season team in the league. The Bears have been decent for the last couple years. As a matter of fact, they went to the Super Bowl two years ago. Jake: So I couldn't disagree with you more. They've had a couple of teams that have done well. And you've packed Green Bay. Green Bay's been really good. But I'm saying he's playing on Green Bay. So I'm just saying, yes, they've had a couple of spikes. There's a spike of the Vikings, in spite of the bears. But before the bears were good, they sucked for many years. And they sucked last year. So I'm just saying that throwing him into a better division, and I think that there are better divisions, there's much tougher divisions. NFC East, I think is a tougher division. AFC East is a tougher division. Weaker divisions, there's clearly some weaker divisions. But anyway, let's just put that out there. That part of his success had to do with who he was going up against year in and year out. And the years, by the way, the years that those other teams were good... the Packers weren't good. The year that the Bears went all the way, I think the Packers won three games. So let's just put it out there. Secondly, by the way, yeah, by the way, I'm sorry to cut you off. Justin: What other team did Joe Namath play for? Oh, after the Jets? Jake: He went on to play for someone else for two years, I think. I don't know the name of it. Justin: Exactly, and that's a jet. Jake: There you go! Fuck em! Wait for the... That was really worth interrupting me for. Yeah, well, I thought it was. The second thing I think that is... that I just... just makes me... it just makes something a sour taste in my mouth and it's not just the lime in my vodka tonic here. It's a... Put it on. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's far of the far is all going to be about the far and while it will create a lot of hype and a lot of attention, whatever, I don't know if all that attention and all that hype is really going to help you win games. You know, like there's going to be a lot about far and far and wherever team he goes to, oh, it's a far factor and this and that. But at the end of the day, he's going from a different, he goes from one system he knows pretty well to a completely different system, completely different players, completely different stadium, I mean the whole thing. And can he have that kind of success that he had last year which was some of his best games ever in a totally new system, in a totally new division? I just don't think so. I don't think so. I think whoever picks up on this. Magic factor. Huh? It's the magic. Justin: It's the magic factor. It's not gonna work. It's not gonna work. Oh, I don't know man I mean if you if you're gonna say one year, no, it wouldn't work But if you were gonna say you'd be there for three years, it might work Okay, you know, I'm on takna to play for the Chiefs. They made the playoffs when he was there Yeah, they were pretty decent. Yeah, here's I'm gonna put out there Jake: Here's what I'm gonna put out there. I put it out there man. I'm gonna put it out there. Whatever team Farve goes to
02 Justin: Write this down. I don't have anything to write with well, let's just record it then Jake: Whatever team Farve goes to That team if he plays the majority of the games meaning, you know 75% or more of the games. If Fav starts, that team will not get to the playoffs. I'm putting it out there. Justin: Put it out there. You know what I'll put out there? Jake: Yeah. Justin: Fav's not playing. Jake: Oh, you are dead on wrong. There are, he wants out and he wants to play. He wants his payday. He wants to get one last big check. Justin: I don't think you need money. Jake: Alrighty, so one other thing you wanted to put out there I guess was I have two more things. One other thing you put out there was that Michael Silver from the Yahoo Sports ranked Woody Johnson as the number 18 owner in the league. Justin: Yeah, what the hell was that? Number 18? ... Jake: ... You know what, I think every fan hates their owner. And that's to win the Super Bowl. Then they love their owner. Justin: I think, I mean, in the NFL, in the NFL there's not much to hate about the owner. They have a hard salary cap, check the sense. Yeah, I don't hate Woody. Dan Snyder? I don't hate Woody. Jake: Dan Snyder? Justin: Oh, Dan Snyder, he's not my owner. I care less. Jake: Now, as I'm saying, Jimmy Johnson, I mean, these are some... Justin: I would like... well, I would like him, personally. Jake: Wayne Heisinger? Justin: Aw, I don't know. But, I mean, there are certain guys that aren't that bad, you know? I mean... Jake: I don't... I just... For an owner, I want them to... The problem is that the owner is really the top of the food chain. They pick the general manager or they usually pick the president. The president usually picks the general manager and the general manager picks the... Justin: Do you want to try and guess? Do you want to try and guess? I don't know what he ranked. His top three? Jake: Kraft. Kraft is number one. Owner of the colt is probably two. The owner of the cults is named Jim Ersay and he's number 6. And then probably like a Jimmy Johnson number 3. Justin: Jimmy Johnson doesn't exist. I don't know who you're talking about. The owner of the Cowboys perhaps? His name is Jerry Jones. That's close. Jimmy Johnson's the jig. Jake: Okay so I was close. Justin: He's number 2 and actually... Daniel Snyder's number three on his list. Jake: Oh, so big spenders. Daniel Snyder, come on. That team is just a shit the bed every year. Justin: But that's all that you could do in the NFL, really. No, no. You know what you can do? Jake: You can stay the fuck away from the team. You can just give them the tools and then stay the fuck away from the team. That's what you can do as an owner. That's good enough. You shouldn't be involved. The best owner, you shouldn't even know their name. You should be like, who owns this team? I don't know. We're winning. That's good. Right? The reason the Patriots have cracked as the number one owner is because they won three Super Bowls in four years.
03 Jake: Probably the Cowboys makes number two because of the new Cowboys stadium and because of all the monies putting into it and because they did well last year. Alright, what was number three? Justin: I'm sorry, what? What was number three? Number three owner was Daniel Snyder was number three. Jake: Yeah that I don't get it all. He's really hated. So that's interesting. Justin: We could round out the top five. The Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is number four and the Tampa Bay Bucks. uh the Glazer family Brian Joel and Egg Glazer uh Malcolm's Malcolm Glazer's sons owned the Buccaneers and Malcolm uh I believe owned them perhaps uh and then he also owns the uh Manchester United Football Club which is one of the largest soccer teams in the whole entire world uh so these guys are really into this stuff Jake: Yeah, I just, I don't know. I mean, again, for everything they say for and against, I just, I want the owner to literally stay the hell away from the team because generally they're very rich people. They've made a very good job in business. I mean, very good stand in business or they've inherited a lot of money and they've picked out this team and that's great. But you don't know how to run a team. And as long as they realize that, it's kind of the, you know, if you know what you don't know that makes you more powerful, they should know what they don't know. They should stay away from football and they should let and pick good people. Now that's the thing. Do they pick good people? So clearly, you know, uh, uh, Justin: Woody at number 18 and doing all this other stupidity. Jake: Yeah, and it doesn't really matter anyway. Justin: I'll never find out. Jake: So the last piece of news that hits the wires, and it happened a couple weeks ago, is back to our ongoing conversations and a very, very sore topic for the Jets fans out there is the PSLs. So what happened in the last two weeks that hadn't happened when we talked before was that the Giants actually released their pricing plan. Now, a lot of fans, including myself, kind of go, well, why didn't the Giants and Jets release them together? It makes no sense. They could have done a United front. Here's the tickets. You're together. It's the same ticket. It's the same debt. There's no reason why they should be different. The Jets prices are the same as the Giants prices. Here we go. Everybody, you're all in. Everybody feels good. You know what? Justin: If I were you and I know your season ticket holder, I'm not. Jake: I'd be happy the Jets didn't come out at the same time.
03 Jake: Why are you unhappy? I'm unhappy because it seems devious because... Oh, I don't think it's devious. Justin: I think if I were you, I'd be happy. You know why? Because the Giants came out with it and people are revolting. So they're not. No, they're not. No, they're not. They're not revolting. Oh, I think people... I think... I think it's not a revulsion, it's more like people are just upset about it. There's a weird nasty feeling in the air about it. Jake: Yeah, but it's going to be the same feeling that the jets come out. Justin: No, but I think that they might, maybe you might get a break on that. Oh, please. Jake: Please. It's possible. It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense to be higher and it doesn't make any sense to be lower. Justin: It doesn't make any sense that, uh... You're right. So they came out at the same time, but they're not the same team, they're not the same company. But they're sharing the same stadium. It's the same- It's not the same PSL. It's not like you're gonna own a seat in the Giants Stadium. But it's the same seat. You're not difficult, but you don't own that seat in that stadium. No, but- Jake: You own the seat with the Jets play. But why not announce it together, make a united front? Both fan bases could be outraged or pissed or whatever at the same time, but at least they both know we're both getting the same share, the same stadium, the same 16 games. It makes- Justin: Ah, whatever. It's not a big deal. I think people are more upset about the fact that they actually exist in the first place. Jake: Well, that people need to get over. Anywho, some of the news is, you know... Is that some of the things in the PS? Justin: $20,000 that is insane. I mean Johnny's family man is not gonna be able to cough up 20 G's for the same ticket that he's been going to 30 years Jake: So if you get four tickets you'd be coughing up $80,000 Lost the price of the ticket and you're one. Yeah, you know what the you know, the per game ticket is gonna be a game $700 that's insane $700 per game Justin: 2,800 ticket or 2,800 a game if Jake: That's all corporate man. That's all the one that section 110 to 112 which they're calling the coldest clubs stadiums are like pricing out the average fan. Yeah, I will say the rest of them are not bad. So then you get the field level. Okay, that's still 20,000, but the game tickets 160. And the game ticket starts at 700, but goes quickly down to 160, 140, 120. What's the upper look like? So that's called the Terrace. They're calling that. What's that look? And the Terrace, which would be my section, because I'm up with the true fan. Those people are out there talking a thousand dollars per ticket PSL and $95 per game ticket now we're paying 80 Game, we're paying 80 now so that doesn't surprise me Yes, as long as they don't go crazy with all the other stuff like as long as they as long as they have like beers Will cost $90 Justin: Not 90. I mean at least hopefully they'll keep them under 10. I mean it's insane
00 Justin: All it does is promote more beer pregame. All that does is promote people to just drink more outside and they probably will. Jake: So that is most of the news that's been to catch up. Oh, the last piece, training camp. So, Training Camp starts actually Thursday, tomorrow. Training Camp starts... Justin: As of this recording, it's tomorrow, but whenever you guys listen to it, it might be today. It might be... Jake: So, Training Camp will start. I am actually going to Training Camp on Saturday morning with the fam family. And gonna go check it out. and looking forward to it. What are you looking, well I'll tell you what I'm looking forward to. I'll give you a second to think about it because you're slow on the uptake. I know what I'm looking forward to. What are you looking forward to in training camp? What are you looking to see? What do you want to get out of it? Justin: What I want to get out of it is I want to see, I want to see Kellen Clemens beat Chad Pennington for the starting quarterback position. Handily, I want to see him win that position. I don't want there to be question marks. I want to see a winning I want to see Calvin Clemens winning that job on his own I also want to see in in the third game of the preseason I guess that's jumping a little bit ahead, but I want to see the lines start to gel a little bit and and dominate. I want, especially on the defensive side, I want to see some things out of Jenkins and I want to see these guys on the outside, Gholston if we can get him in and Pace coming off the ends and really attacking. So I want to be more more attack mode this year. Right, so that's what I want to see. I want to see that coming out of the preseason training camp kind of time. Jake: That's interesting. I would say, you know, I'm definitely on the quarterback controversy or the quarterback competition. I'm looking for a good one. I really want it to be over soon. Like, I don't want this to go to the end. I want this to be over by this second preseason game. Justin: Yeah, I want one of these guys to start game one, maybe Chad. And then... Cowan start game two and Cowan just play great and then by game three they decide who it is boom Cowan starts plays great And that's it right because in game four no one starts so yeah, who cares you let number three or four start right now Jake: No, I totally agree and I think I definitely want to see I mean the lines I think beyond the lines. I want to see the running game I want to see some really and we've got some players now. We've got Musa Smith. We've got you know Frickin Thomas Jones got Lee in Washington and we have Jesse Chapman I mean we've got this like just frickin billion people back there all which have different talent sets all which have different pedigrees We I want to see us just like I mean again last year We couldn't get a fucking yard when we needed it a couple tries. We couldn't get the yard
01 Jake: I want to see us like go for the one yard and get seven I want to see us like just do a whole series of you know run for three run for three run for four First down run, you know, like just shove it down people's throats. That'd be my big thing. I want to see us really perfect that run game Because I mean our quarterback situation isn't good It's certainly we're not dealing with the two greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game So I want to see this really do the other stuff that we can do well uh... but so those are those are the big things and i'm looking forward to it and i love this is the best time of year it's like hopes brings eternal everybody's own oh no one's lost a game you know we look at our players are all gold you know it's a car we did all these great things feneca's gonna come and do this dayman was can do this and and and chris jenkins is gonna dominate up the middle it's a great time to be a football fan no one's injured By September we've hit some reality and by November we've had a big dose of it, but I'm looking forward to it So that's the last of the last as always I will give you the last thought Moment something give us something to chew on a little Justin: I said last time that I would think about this prior, and I actually did. I wanted to actually say Get on the forums now that preseason is upon us and now that the training camp is starting because we're going to start really getting that going and I wanted to get that out there to the folk. Jake: Alrighty, so that's a good thing. Again, you can always email us at podcast at JetKingdom.com. We have something to say. Otherwise we appreciate you guys listening and as always, gotta say. Just gotta say, go Jets.
