00:03 Jake: This is episode 75 of the Jet Kingdom Podcast for Wednesday, July 21st, 2010. Ring of Honor. of the women. Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. As always on this side of the very busy, if not crowded, Digital Isle, it's Jake joining me for the 75th time. Oof. Woo! I don't even know what that is. I think that's like, what is the 75th anniversary? Is that the golden anniversary? No, the oldest is 50th. Diamond, I think it might be diamond anniversary. Diamond Super Bowl ring anniversary. Don't join me for the Super Bowl ring. my friend, my partner, not in life, but in business, Justin! Justin: Oh, doing wonderful. This is a busy digital aisle these days. Jake: It's a very digital and very busy digital aisle. All right. So we actually got a lot to call this episode, or we're going to say this is a very busy digital aisle. So we're going to call this episode, all fan episode so you guys get the news out of the way early well you guys have been asked so I'm basically gonna take most everything from someone else's tweets or comments or call in so we've got a lot of that going on and so everything can come from that So, that will be easy. So the first thing, well I guess let's talk about things that aren't being tweeted. So, first news since we've been away for almost a month, more than a month, is signings. Too long. Too long? Yeah, over a month. Oh, too long, yeah. Not that I brought it. Sorry, fellas. So, we, well, okay, so we signed dbrick to I think a $35 million contract and we signed our extension, yeah. Contract extension, yes. And our... Vlad Ducasi? Ducas! Justin: I like to think of it as Ducas, like, Ducast. Like that song from like, five or six years ago. Vlad, he's gonna be like, Vlad the Impaler. Jake: Both signed. So this brings about two pieces that we're trying to do. Obviously we're trying to sign all the rookies before training camp starts. And I try that every year.
03:05 Justin: Every year but one. I think actually, like too much because this is probably the last time it's gonna happen yeah and it should be because you're paying a guy who you have no idea what he's gonna do he could be crap he could be Joey Harrington and you're paying him like 70 to 80 million dollars so everyone's waiting to sign their rookies to see what the scales gonna look like because it always goes down from one down right in a scale. But we got our number two pick signed. Dukas, we were I think the first team to sign such a high pick like a second round pick. I think only two second round picks overall have been signed so far which is crazy and no first rounders are signed which is even more crazy. But Deeper Exciting was important. A six year, $60 million deal. Essentially not fully guaranteed, right? If he gets hurt and can't play a year, he is not going to get paid. So there's an out there. Not all this money is guaranteed as most NFL contracts aren't guaranteed contracts. But he was the first round pick, fourth overall in 2006. This is his fifth year. Entering his fifth year in the league. He's a pro bowler now. He has matured after a rocky start. He is a solid... top-notch left tackle and with a great left tackle and a great center you have a great line. And you know how important I believe the line is. I'm happy that they were able to get D-Brick signed and with the young quarterback very important to have the left tackle. Jake: Yeah, I you know it's a good it's a good signing and it goes down to the what the four core Which would we decide was D brick? Reavis Mangold and Bart Scott, you know, David Harris Harris you're right. You're right. This Harris the other linebacker. Okay, I was missing at my linebackers Justin: I don't know why he thought Bart Scott we signed last year as a free agent Jake: Damn. Justin: We have a lot of young guys. All right, so who's next in that list? I don't know. There's an order. I didn't think D-Brick would be the first. So there's those four guys who we needed to sign, right? Again, the Reavis, Reas, and Harris. Now what I think will happen is. Probably Harris will get signed next. Of the three, Harris, Mangold, Reavis, I think it will actually go in that order. I think it's Mangold, Reavis, because it will go from easiest to sign to most difficult to sign. Jake: Absolutely, and I don't think Reavis will get done. I don't think I'll get them by the beginning of the season. Justin: By the beginning of the season or by the beginning of training camp?
06:02 Jake: Oh, training camp, not a chance. Season, I think they'll be trying to get mangled. I don't think they'll be trying to get rid of this by the beginning of the season. I mean, I don't think they'll be able to do it. Justin: The fact of the matter is, he has a contract for the next like two years. Jake: He has the longest contract. He has another, I think, three, right? He's going to be like, well, dude, you know. And again, what he's comparing himself to is un-comparable, and you know, D-Brick, they had, they had Jake Long and some others that they could compare to, and so on, and so on. You know people who just like, you know, you know number one draft, you know left tackles So they kind of had some comparisons and that makes it easier obviously Well, he's comparing himself to Nnamdi Asamu of Oakland But he was signed by a bunch of fucking nutballs and so and he wasn't signed off They weren't coming off a current contract. They they signed him off free agency, right? Justin: No, Nnamdi's always been a raider but They're also looking at contracts like Nate Clements in San Francisco. We've got a huge deal. He wants to be the highest paid cornerback ever. What is hard to determine is does he want to be the highest paid cornerback ever in terms of contraind, meaning we'll sign 7 years, 80 million, paid corner back. you Dollars per year, which is an omnivore which got 15 million per year for three years Which is only 45 million which is not the largest contract that a cornerback's ever signed I'm hoping he's like I'm gonna be a jet sign me to a six-year deal Jake: 70 million dollars donners right and I think that's the way it's gonna come out again It's all posturing to make more money because each one of these little pieces of posturing last, you know, maybe it's another $500,000 in your pocket. I I do not think he'll get more yearly revenue. I just don't think they're going to sign him to something that's literally $16, $17 million a year. I just don't think they'll do it. I think they will because again, what is it for him? Is it really is it? It is money, but it's also bragging rights, right? He wants to say hey listen if I'm the best then I want money to buy my own island like he know he wants He wants to be the best he wants to be paid like he's the best But it doesn't matter because it's a PR statement. He wants to be able to say I'm the highest paid corner In the league and and you know if that's if that if he overdoes it because he gets a 80 million dollars over 45 million That's how he are if we give him 18 million for two years then he knew we would never do that but you know I'm saying like we okay fine 18 million for two Years, then he goes I'm the highest paid because I'm paid more per year He'll use it either way. He wants to use it to make his point which is that he's the big dog I don't know. I just At the end of the day I wanted to say a jet
09:01 Jake: But he's the last person to sign because the other ones are There they have more contract issues coming up And, and to be honest, he's gonna be the hardest one to do. So I, he'll definitely be last. I think it'll be middle of the season. Because I don't think, what's the benefit for the Jets to sign him now? Justin: To get him into training camp if he says he's not gonna go. Jake: Yeah, but that's a huge PR nightmare. Three years left on your contract, you just said not- He has two years left. this year and two more. I thought it was just two but you might be right. Justin: I think it's just to get him into to get him into camp because if he says I'm not coming to camp Jake: then well then the fines start happening then the bad press starts happening then the why are you not playing like a team player I mean you know there's two sides of that story so I I don't know I I don't think he'll be signed by the by the end of the season. Justin: But I'd like him there for for camp to mentor the the the rookie to Get in full practice time with the new you know, there's new safety involved. There's new Jake: cornerback on the other side involved. There's a couple shakeups. I'd like for him to be there I I would do but it's not gonna keep me up. Speaking of camp The camp schedule came out. Yeah, it starts soon. Some camps are opening like next week on Thursday. Yeah, there's some really early ones. Ours is starting up, what, April? April, yeah. April. April, yeah. April 2nd. No, August 2nd. 4 PM, closed public. Have another beer, Jake. August 3rd. 8 20 a.m. So those are the first one for public is Tuesday, August 3rd. Where is it? Courtland or it's certainly Courtland. Yeah. That being said also, so that's going to be interesting. I'm just trying to see when they come to we do our Monday night preseason game, which we will be at that'll be kind of fun because it's against the Giants in our new stadium. the ring of honor. Then they'll do a practice Monday, August 23rd in Atlantic Health Training Center. So if you want to go from Jersey. And then I think, yep, then they're going to do the Friday night practice at Hofstra again. Which I went to last year, which is fun. I think we'll have to go to that. Oh, I will not be able to do that. Why not? I will be traveling. Oh, and then the Jets of Redskins and then the Jets of Eagles like we always do. All right. That being said, also next, the other thing that's been fine. The thing that's been released is the hard knock schedule. Oh, when does that start? So that's what I was just about to tell you. Hard knock starts on if I could find it. Where is it? Come on, kids. Justin: It was on their homepage. For those who don't know, Hard Knocks is the show on HBO that they do every year where they follow a team in training camp and this year they're following the Jets because they're interesting.
12:06 Jake: Yeah, I mean they are one of the bigger stories. I was watching actually, what was I watching? Oh, I was watching the NFL channel, what do they call it? Total Access or whatever their one is. And they were literally like out of their five stories, I think three or about the Jads. So it picks up in August. So it obviously be, it's got to be after camp starts. I think it's August 11th. Check your local listings. It's on HBO. I think this is going to be five episodes. And it should be interesting. So that's it for our news. Now let's get to some of our fans, asking some questions that need answering. We have some tweets. We do have some tweets. And then we have some, then we have a call. Yes. We love a call. We love a good voicemail. No. in the morning. We do. So let's take the tweet first. Sure. Do you want me to go? I'll take the Justin: first tweet. All right, so this is from at Izzy's tweeting. He tweeted, Hey, at Jet Kingdom and at just Jet Kingdom. That's the two of us. What do you think of the Ring of Honor? Don't you guys think that Rich Kotite deserves to be inducted ASAP? Sounds like a Giants fan. Does sound like a Giants fan. Sounds like a bitter Giants fan. I choose to wipe the Rich Kotite era from my brain. The only good thing about Rich Kotite was that Parcels came afterwards because he was so bad. Obviously he's kidding about Rich Kotite. The Ring of Honor's cool. Jake: Let's talk about what it is. Justin: So I don't know, you know, in... Like straight up what it is, I'm assuming it's like the Bills have names and numbers up around the stadium as opposed to retiring a jersey and having it like... You know how we used to have it. Jake: Yeah, it's for the new stadium. You know, the Cowboys do it. I think the Dolphins do it. I mean, a lot of stadiums do this now where they put up permanently, although in our stadium it will not be permanent, but it's the Ring of Honor. So it'll be the people who are, you know, somewhere permanently or semi-permanently displayed. And it's a way to start a tradition which I love because in the last 80 minutes... One of these crap. They had the stupid... ...the three jerseys. Justin: ...the jerseys down on the goal line. It was just crap. So alright, go ahead. Tell me who's in the Ring of Honor. So we have some champions on the Ring of Honor. You have Joe Namath. I've heard of this man, Weeb U Bank, who is the coach of that team, Winston Hill, who is on the championship team, as well as Don Maynard, who is on the championship team. We have Joe Klechko, member of the SAC Exchange, and a new addition, sort of new, Curtis Martin, who I believe...
15:05 Justin: It's well deserved to be up there with the top six jets. I think Nameth and Martin will actually be there at the first preseason game against the Giants to open the whole thing up. So we'll be there for the ceremony and we'll see Joe. Hopefully he'll have a few cocktails in him before he does his speech. Jake: No, he's a recovering alcoholic. That's not funny. Justin: Oh, all right. Forget that then. Sorry Joe. It would have been funny though because you know, Susie. It would have been except for Heath. And Curtis Martin, the classy Curtis Martin, Jake: getting into the ring of honor. So interesting point. So great list. We could discuss what, you know, we have a question that comes up in a second from another fan that we can discuss. Next year, I think it's next year, Curtis Martin, the bus, and the one from the Rams, what do you mean by Marshall Fock? Marshall Fock all come up next year. To go into the Hall of Fame? Hall of Fame. Yeah, they can all get in can't they? No, you can't get all of them in there running backs No, why not? No, I will bet you Justin: Season tickets for 10 years. Well if only to get in unfortunately, I think the odd man out is Curtis Martin Because of what rings rings and Marshall Marshall Fock was an MVP of... he was an MVP, he was like the best player in the league for a number of years. And personalities. Falk and Betis, they're both on TV, they're both outspoken, they're both, not quite outspoken, but they're both flashier. Curtis Martin was the quietest, least flashy superstar of probably of all time in... football even though he's in the top five rushing career I have to believe they're gonna let them all in but if if only two it's probably gonna be the guys Jake: with the rings I I I totally agree on the first ballot I mean that's not yeah I mean it's not Curtis Curtis is making a little get in I always thought he would get in first ballot but Jeez man, that's that's tough tough I do you think that they won't let all three in because they don't do it and there's only six or seven slots They leave two slots for you know people who died or played a 500 years ago whose names we don't know or probably should But don't and then so that only leaves, you know for positions They don't like to like put all the same position the same, you know, put the same position across the same board. So I just don't they don't. We won't do it. I don't think it's ever been done again. Someone out there in the Twitter verse, you know, podcast listener wants to prove me wrong. But three running backs in one year. Nah, not going to happen.
18:00 Justin: There are three exceptional running backs. I mean, two of the five of them are in the top five rushing yards in the. in the history of the inflow. Yeah, I know. Jake: But that's just the way the hall runs. And again, it's not the same that they won't ever get in. It's just to say on first ballot in the same year, they will not let in three of the same – the three running backs in that year. Well, the good thing is when Martin does get in, he'll go in as a jet. Justin: That's true. There's no question about that. All right, so we had a good question that kind of goes around Jake: This which it was from a PFT article that I did PFT pro football His pro football talk sorry Justin: Actually an interesting website, but the tweet is where's the T stand for do you not know? I do know is it is it? Is it like pro football talk? Pro football talk? Yeah, pretty sure. I thought you were joking. You're probably right. Jake: Yes, pro football talk, alright. And they have a... So here's the thing. They're pretty much known for their, you know... They're pretty much known for a lot of their like they're up on the stuff that comes out like they're known for all the Latest hits so like things that come out so someone said to me Max he's a New York New York jet prime max. I'm a damage. It's kind of a strange one. Okay, but said Tweeted back and said are you a are you a PFT fan? I can I find that many think the site is garbage your thoughts I can't say I'm a huge fan fan You know, I'm a fan of football and if people have scoop and if people have interesting stuff I like to read it. It's not the place I go to every day, but if they have an article or two, I think actually what's interesting is he might ... That's what's interesting is he's actually re-tweeting something that I tweeted, which is pro football reference. So, I actually was, I was reading something called PFR and he took it as PFT. So, kind of strange, but Pro Football Reference has a blog entry. Pro Football Reference is actually one of the best pro-fault sites. They basically have all the stats. So you can see every team broken down by pairs and it's really, really well done. But what they do is they have a thing for them to blog. They do a lot of analysis. On this one, they just have the New York Jets create Ring of Honor, but then they broke down all the different players from Joe Namath, to Mo Lewis, to Curtis Martin, Freeman McNeil, Leslie Walker. I don't know why he's in there. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Joe Kwecko, Ken O'Brien.
21:00 Jake: They brought down how many games they played, their averages. is. They're trying to say, here's other players that would have, you know, should they make it Shawn Ellis is in there. Um, have my eyes in there, you know, for how many games they played. Should they be whatever Wayne Kerbet? Um, anyway, so they kind of break it down. They do a really good job. So the answer these side wise questions, uh, PFT, I like for the news kind of like. Oh my god, there's new stuff happening. PFT has, I mean people, I think even the NFL network takes it from PFT. Well, it looks like it's an MVC site, so... They got bought by MVC. They weren't MVC originally. Well, I imagine they weren't, but now they are, so... It was a little credibility. And then PFR, Profoble Reference, is actually a great, great site. If you really want to learn about... like the detailed analysis and get if you want to if you're a saber-matrician get in there that's it and if you what the best part is you go in if someone's arguing what the the build or something and go you know where do you know where the bills um you know when's the last time they they want a playoff game well i i don't know i mean i know because i woke it up but they keep all the records like oh the last time they wanted a playoff game was 1995 Wow, Card, I guess the Miami Dolphins. Justin: That is 15 years ago. 15 years ago. Oh, that's so painful. Jake: Let's go Miami Dolphins. Last time they won a playoff game was, oh, oh, oh. Has to be somewhat recent. Justin: I think they won. Jake: No, I think it's 10. I think it's maybe five. Hold on. Again, this is where I would go. So you can get their kind of page. You can see all the coaches. Jets won two of them last year. Kind of cool. That is cool. All right, let's see. Scoring summary. This is not what I want it to be. I want you to surf the web later. Hey, how about you shut up? How about you shut your cake off? You know what? Justin: While you're looking for that, just to take another. take another question from the field. uh can sign um mark brunell if they're looking to sign him as a as a veteran backup so we can look for that to perhaps happen uh as as early as tomorrow which you think it's gonna happen i you know i wouldn't mind if it did i i mean kellen clemens is serviceable but i'd i'd like for a guy that has played a little bit to be sanchez's backup i'm not so concerned about if somebody has to play like I think it's a wash between Clemens and and Brunel at this point, but I'm more I'm more interested in Brunel's like 15 years of experience and having
24:01 Justin: himself, you know, led teams to the playoffs and and gone to the AFC Championship game before I'm more interested in that knowledge being transferred into Sanchez's head and then Anything that he could do on the field Jake: Yeah, I think he's serviceable. I would say last year watching, hold on, will I take a sip of... Justin: I know what you're going to say. That one game that Clemens had to play... Jake: Bills, Bills. I was there. I was in Toronto. Terrible. That guy's awful. Yeah, it made my sphincter twitch. It was not good. When... When I watched Sanchez walk out of the stadium, I was like, what the F? Then I saw Clemens come on and and I was like, OK, come on. You know, I've seen him play some good games or I've seen him, you know, he's a little bit happy feet, but let's see what happened. Oh, my God. No, he's so not accurate. Justin: He can't throw. Forget it. If they could get for now, it's worth it. Jake: I think, yeah, I agree. I think it is worth it. And having a veteran backup is good. You know, if it's just, if it's a, you know, a drop in the bucket, if it's $30 million a year. You're not paying him. Justin: He's, you know, not gonna pay him. Speaking of free agents who, who wanna get, you know, paid, who aren't on T.O. Nowhere to be seen. Oh yeah. Training camps are about to start, you know, in a week or so. And there's no T.O. in the NFL. He's on VH1. Thanks for watching! He's gonna show on VH1 back to back with Ojosenko. Jake: No, I know. I'm saying we're one of the teams that like if you look at all the teams that that you like Oh, well what teams are like just paying anybody getting in anybody took us they gonna win a champion this year Well, the Jets are in that class this year So I know it's not us because we have enough receivers and enough problem receivers But I don't know Where would Tio go? I don't know, I was trying to think about it the other day. Justin: No, he would go back there. I was trying to think of it the other day, like where could Tio possibly land? And then I was like, he's just gonna be on a shitty team. Like, he's just gonna be on a really bad team. Jake: Like the Chiefs or something. Alright, quickly, quickly. AFC East Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bills. Justin: They could probably use them but didn't they just get Brandon Marshall? I don't think they can do it. Jake: Okay, I've seen North. Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, Browns. The rumor was the Bengals for a while but I don't think they're going to pull the trigger. The Ravens don't want them. Mangini can't deal with them. I don't think so. Sound like the Steelers lost a big player. I don't know what they got for Steelers.
27:01 Jake: Guy, they don't want it. All right. South Colts. No Texans. No, they got no Titans. No, that's not their character. Jaguars. They don't really have a receiver. Maybe the Jaguars. Justin: Maybe, maybe we don't know the salary cap at all for any of these teams. So. Jake: Chargers no Broncos no Raiders. Yes. Yeah, that's always a place Justin: But I don't think he remember he's a free agent. He can decide to say I'm not right Jake: Chief Snow way not well that I I don't know that's a place Justin: I think you might end up because they stink and they don't have real yeah, but it's from that whole Bellachat. Oh, thanks Jake: Yeah, uh, cowboys, No way. Eagles, no. No, you won't go in there. ,, giants. No. Redskins. Nope. They already said they don't want them. Redskins? Oh, they did? Oh, right. Because of McNabb, right. Sorry, I can't do that. Vikings. Packers. Nope. Bears? Maybe. Maybe the Bears. I can see the Bears being desperate enough. Lions, no. Justin: Saints? Jake: Nope. Justin: Thank you. They just went Super Bowl. They're not bringing T-O. Jake: No, they're not bringing Falcons. No, they're trying to get a new thing going. Panthers, possibly. Possibly Panthers. And then the the guys brought in Keith Johnson. I can see him doing that. Bucks. Maybe. I could do another crappy team that, you know. And they also brought in Keith Johnson. Or maybe the other one. Kka Cardinals, nah 49ers never Seahawks not what they said they don't want him Justin: And Rams teams. He wouldn't want to go play for the Rams Jake: Oh, yeah, and that's what you need as a young quarterback with him. Yeah, right you're doing them Everybody loves me some me. Nope. So he's not so He's 36 bears Raiders Jaguars Bears Raiders Jaguars Panthers. That's our guests. Write it down. It's all you take to write it down. Let's go play for the next. Let's get to our let's get to our phone message. Oh yeah. I'm going to play that right now and then we'll listen to it. All right. I'm Justin: going to play it now. Hey guys, this is Eric Manis. He does know me as a man. He underscore man. from JetSquid.com. Hey, question for you. You probably heard about Carrie Rhodes, of course, being called out by Chris Jenkins. Why do the Jets keep, you know, why can't they let Carrie go? Why do they have to keep bringing them up? I'm just curious and curious about that. What's your opinion on that? Don't you think they have more important things to well worry about. Very much that really close under the skin is my opinion. That's my question Great podcast
30:02 Jake: Well, E man, thanks for sending in your Voicemail actually calling in I love a good voicemail. I just it's just something nice about it. So basically the question was - why did the- why did the jets, you know, keep bringing up, uh, Kerry Rhodes, um, and Jenkins just called him out, which is why we didn't talk about it, cause we knew that we were getting to it. So Jenkins called out, uh, Kerry Rhodes. Justin: His quote was, uh, we've had some real men step in to replace the women we lost. Jake: This is uh and he certainly wasn't talking about Thomas Jones. I don't think so You know Kerry Rhodes is an interesting case because he's one of those guys that at the start was like this is gonna be great hard-hitting safety You know gonna be a great player. He was he was really good for three or four years. He was really good Yeah, but then last year, I don't know if it was the system. I don't know if it was. I haven't made the last two years. right after he got paid by the way. I think he got a contract extension two years ago. You know, it just wasn't the player. It seemed to be a lot of missed tackles and non-tackles and like, hey, there you go, sorry dude, I'll get you later, tackles. Um, so I, you know, why is Chris Jenkins bringing him up? Cause Chris Jenkins is a big mouth and he just wants to talk and wants to hear himself talk and wants to be quoted talking. Um, so that's the easy one to that. Why did the Jess bring him up? Well, because I think there's someone that we really kind of put a lot of effort, you know, a lot of like, I don't want to say effort into it. Let's call it a. Emotional stock. emotional stock right we had all emotional stock in the guy a lot of jerseys sold to uh Justin: to carry and uh talking had a really good defensive backfield with you know the the cornerstone of of carrion revus and and it turned out that carry just wasn't what we thought he was. He just wasn't. I mean he had to get demoted during the middle of the season to sort of wake him up and say, oh, your job is not just safe. You have to actually do it. Jake: Like you have to play on the field. Yeah, and I think that's what happened with him that, again, a lot of it's through... blogs and message boards. And it's all on their Twitter. Justin: I mean, he was very popular on Twitter as well. Jake: Well, that's the thing is I think he became more about being a celebrity than being a player. And so he did a movie. He was doing photo shoots. He was doing Caracosuit commercial. Don't forget that one. A lot of people do that stuff off season. But when the season starts, a lot of people As much as I would like to hear Mark Sanchez tweet, if you look at his tweets during the
33:04 Jake: season, they were a few and far between. Like, dude, if you've got time to tweet, get back to the, get back to the weight room, get back to the, you know, and Kerry Rhodes and there's some players out there that chat and they're making, they're becoming their own brand and that's what they're doing and they're using the social networking. Tools to do that and man, I could tell you about a cool another cool podcast could talk about all this but basically You know That's what he became, you know, Hollywood was his nickname and I think that's sort of the downfall. It's like well, okay That's great. But you know, I want you to be this great defensive player. I don't really want you to be celebrity. And I think the great players are players for celebrity second. You know Peyton Manning is probably the best player in the league. It's hard to say he isn't. But he is and he is a celebrity like you know people pay attention to what he does but he keeps himself out of the limelight. He is a player first. You hear about him watching. He keeps himself out of the limelight in Justin: some respects. But in other respects, he's on every other commercial when you're watching football. Jake: That's true, but you don't hear about him tweeting crazy crap. No, no, no. You don't hear about him going to parties. And you don't hear about him on... You don't see him on TMZ and Paris Hilton isn't talking about him. Justin: See him on Saturday Night Live, though. I mean, which is different. Jake: But it's it's it's all positive and and taking commercials. I mean if you're gonna Knock people for taking commercials. I'm not gonna anybody. Yeah, but he did ever lose his performance because of it No, no, he was always so I you know, I think it's it's it's interesting I know I've heard from an inside source that Sanchez is going out to shoot some commercials Um, recent or soon. Um, and I've heard the schedule is brutal. Uh, it's like, you know, 10 o'clock at night to six in the morning kind of shooting commercials and damn that, you know, I would hope that you wouldn't be doing that during the regular season, off season. Great. Go shoot commercials all night. Justin: But, um, so if you want to read more about this, about this particular topic, uh, the E-man, the E-man, Eric Manasse, write a blog at Jetstwitt.com and he wrote a post about this very topic today. And he's got a full article with some embedded videos you can watch and other things. So if this interests you, by the time you listen it probably won't be the current post, but you can look in the archives and find the post about why the Jet is talking about Carrie. Jake: We're going to do a
36:00 Jake: ,
35:40 Jake: That's absolutely true. We like him. He's a great Twitter-er among a very few that seem to consistently tweet well and tweet a lot. So I think that's about it. Is that all the
36:00 Jake: news that we have? I mean there's one of the things that's fit to talk about on Jet Kingdom Podcasts. That is all the news that's fit to talk about. So let's talk a little bit about scheduling So let's look at the schedule and I'm going to tell you the fans of checking a podcast when our next podcast will be Tell me to Wow, who cares? It's like talking to myself anyway sometime Um, so it looks like if camp is starting on the second of August, let's do a podcast right before the start of camp. All right. We'll talk about what we're looking for. We'll talk about the rookies. We'll talk about where they fit. Um, so that all that will be happening. So that's in a week, two weeks. When are we going to do our picks? I think people like our pick show. Oh, you mean our our our picture well, we've we've trying to arrange a special guest star for a pic show which if you're falling Teaser we're trying to raise a special guest star who I tweeted with and he said he would be on the show Big Jets fan and also social networking guru and owner of other types of places that sell things that you could imbibe. But if, um, I can't say that at all. That wasn't it. Well, if you know that, hey, if you know that who that person is, you're good. You just go, go over to the, go over the mirror right now. Take your hand, put it up. Just like this. Um, so. Oh That show is at the end of August. That's before the first season. The first the first regular game is the ninth. So that shows probably like the seventh of of September, because we usually do it a couple of days before the start of the season. Justin: That's the picks of the what we think the Jets will do week by week. Jake: They have ceased and the Super Bowl. Yeah, and this year, I think we're going to do a couple different things. One is you and I are going to pick every game, whether we do it on the podcast. No, we pick every jet game. We pick every jet game. We don't pick and we pick the AFC East, but we don't pick every game game. We're going to pick every single NFL game. We're not going to pick every game on the podcast, but we're going to play offline and we're going to have other people play against us. So then we're gonna keep score of who's playing because we did this last year where you and I played against each other That's right. This year. We're gonna invite in all of you the fans of Jet Kingdom podcast to play against us Game so we will be playing against each other and talking about it week to week how you did who got what games, right? But we might just go over the games quickly. We'll go, what do you think? This one, this one. We're not going to do scores. We'll do scores for AFCEs because we always do that. But then we'll go game by game and just say, you know, giants, patriots, you know, and then we'll tell Hugh things. And then that'll be our picks. People are going to love that. I think that'll be good. I think that'll be good. A little adding it to it. And then at some point in time, if everybody tells us they want to have this, I was thinking
39:01 Jake: maybe we should try to do maybe a test video podcast. Justin: I don't think so. Jake: I don't want people to see me. I do these podcasts naked and I can't have people seeing me. Wait, excuse me, first of all, you and I are actually looking at each other during the podcast so if you're doing them naked that says a lot about me for the last 75 episodes. So wait, is that what they're going to see? They're going to see us talking to each other? So I think what we would do, and again this is the way this podcast is, this is the visibility and transparency. This is us designing the next podcast on the fly. Not the next one, but I'm saying at some point during the season. How about this? Go on. Just make it to the playoffs. lives. Justin: And you buy me a new 63 inch television to mount on my wall. Jake: Why does that have anything to do with anything? I'm just throwing it out there. Okay, yeah, keep going with that. If it just made the playoffs, we will do a video podcast, as a special video podcast, and it will be us in some location. We have the technology, we just generally want to do this in our PJs, but we'll set up a little table, a little video camera, and we'll tape us talking about the jets. What do you think? Justin: That's sexy. Jake: That is sexy. Alrighty, so having said that, thank you for the last 75 episodes. Thank you fans for listening. Justin: Yes, thank you so much. We do this for you. Jake: We do this because we've got nothing else to do in our lives. It's very pathetic. But thank you, Justin. I really appreciate it. It's been a good 75. We actually started this almost, oh, coming on 2008, almost four years ago. 2007 was our first episode. August something 2007. It's crazy. 2007 2008 2009 yes, this will be the podcasting has grown quite a bit since we started. Yes Let's see if we can get to a hundred by the end of the year I think we can do it That'll be maybe that'll be in our hundredth episode will be a Justin: Well, we say we're gonna try and time the hundredth episode to be the Super Bowl episode Jake: Yeah, I still think that's gonna be Make it happen You know, we'll have to have to think about that. But anyway, alright till next time and as always Go Jets
