09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away! Jake: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast, the longest running New York Jets podcast ever. I'm Jake, happy to be here on a Monday, football Monday, and joining me, less happy than I am, because he's not as big a fan as I am. Is Justin, Justin, can you wait? Justin: I can't wait. I have my can't wait t-shirt on. That's not bad. I couldn't wait to do a Monday podcast. You know why I couldn't wait for Monday podcast? Jake: Because Monday podcast means a Sunday victory. Yeah, so that means we did eight Monday podcasts last year. We're going to be doing 16 of them this year. Wow. Oh, wow. No, I think I said 11. Alright, so let's yeah, I think I said less. Um, so let's get to it We had a game yesterday jets played and guess what? The clown car what happened was so full of people So first of all, let's do a couple things. First of all It was Curtis Martin's inductee And, but better than that, we actually had a friend on the field doing the JUTS, just, just chance. Yes, we did. Before the game started, for those of you who weren't there, they did, they brought out fans, they had them sign, hold signs. But I thought the best part was when Fireman Ed came out and he, he did a little, you know, he starts talking to the fans. He's like, come on fans, are you with me? over and then he goes And he got really serious and this is why I love this guy I know lots of Jets fans don't like him they feel like he's an aberration or he's not part of he's not actually part of the Thing I like him cuz he's just a fan. He feels this like this is his passion He literally he said you know what in the media David calling us clowns Are we clowns? It's like you just feel like this like I'm getting so mad. I want to beat them so bad. And then he did the chant I Got pumped up for it. I was a little pumped up to start the game. I was pumped I like fireman ed have I told my fireman ed story on this podcast? I don't know. It's been 161 episodes So I don't know. Well when I was there might be new when I was a child Yes, when I was about nine, I think from the age of nine to twelve Justin: My dad had season tickets. Jake: Go on. Justin: And we were in section 339, row two, which was kind of right behind the gold post in the old stadium in the second row. They're really good seats. Top level. Yeah, in the 300, section 339.
00 Justin: It was either 339 or 340. And that's where Fireman Ed sat. Those were his seats. So when he started doing the JETS, JETS, JETS, JETS, I saw that originate like it wasn't he didn't do the whole crowd they didn't put him up on the screen He did like our half of the stadium and there was someone else who did like the other half There's competing yeah, and his him and his brother he got up on his brother's shoulders Like he does now and he would chose now Oh now he just stands on that thing but yeah, and he was wearing the same Harper 42 Jersey have And they'd walk up and down the section, the stairs, and I would look at my dad like, that guy's insane, but it was the most fun ever, because we were like in the section to do the J-E-T-S, jet, jet, jets, and then they'd do it from the other side, and then we would do it, and they'd do it, and then we would do it, it was so much fun. So I got to see that from like my childhood days, like right in front of me. He sat like 20 rows above us. It's crazy. That was my Fireman Ed story. Jake: Yeah, Fireman Ed met him a couple times. He's like a celebrity. Yeah, but he's got an app. But he's a celebrity fan. He's a fan. And up until I think this year, he's never been paid by the Jads. He's always been a fan. They use him like, hey, come be in this catalog or hey, come do this whatever. Be this thing. But he's just been a fan. Thank you for watching. Please subscribe and share this video with your friends. You said actually, you know, the Jets have got to take control of it. I actually think it's one of the nice things about our team is that our mascot is just a fan. He's not a guy dressed up like a big Patriot, Mr. Patriot, Pat the Patriot, or Jojo the Clown. No. Although that would be a good one. We could get him, but he's just a fan and you know what? You said well what's happens when he decides to not do it, trust me someone else will pick it up and we'll be there It'll be you and I doing it, Jet Chan So leading up to this game, let's just do a recap, right? This is the the worst offense in the NFL What led by one of the worst at records what one of the West one of the worst quarterbacks who? Regressed last year, so they brought in Mr. T-Bo, who is gonna immediately take over the job of him, they were gonna run this crazy wildcat, but then in the preseason they couldn't score a touchdown. There's drops by all these things. Everybody's saying, that first year receiver, you know, Stephen Hill, he's not gonna be able to do anything this year. He has drops. I don't believe it. Don't believe the hype. We're a bunch of clowns. It's a clown car. And the Jets just came out and played this game. I'd love to say it was the perfect game. It wasn't the perfect game, but it was damn close to the perfect game Looking at the stats. Well, obviously everybody knows it was a a beat down as we like to say But uh crush them. Oh, we crushed pretty good. This was basically this game was over at half. It was over Justin: Yeah, it was over at half and then like I don't know, there was a there was a moment there in the fourth quarter where the Bills ran off three straight touchdowns like 21
05 Justin: and unanswered points where it was just harkened back to the times of the Jets not being able to you know, shut the door and I feel like that was a good thing that that happened because If we would have won like 41 7 or 48 7 or 48 10 or something like that then there would have been nothing for The coaching staff to go back to and say no no no no fellas Look at this we gave up 28 points we gave up 169 rushing yards to CJ Spiller on 14 rushes I know two of them were you know hundred yards on two of them right but you guys miss the tackles. So we can't give up 28 points. That's not the kind of defense. Jake: Well here's the thing, if I came to you and I said, here's some stats, and then I said, Jets win or lose, the other team scores 28 points. Their quarterback throws three touchdowns, their number one rushing yard does 169 yards along a 56. Do we win or lose that game? Yeah, we lost we lost that game We don't score anything more than 28 points. In fact, I don't remember the last time we scored 30 points Like all last seasons that we hit 30 points, maybe a couple times. I don't remember the last time we hit 40 40 points was lesson we hit we actually hit 40. I know I feel like Brett Favre might have been the quarterback Right that Arizona Cardinals game. I remember that game. I was there Anyway, so here comes the game. What's, what, like, Picker? I mean, obviously it's a great game. I thought it was perfect except for a couple of bloat thing. I was most excited about two things. One, the quarterback situation. Because one quarterback stood up and showed he was a real quarterback, and the other one showed up for what? What he pretty much will do most of the season, although I think there'll be some wrinkles, someone was asking me this morning, I was like, well, is that all T-bo's gonna do? I said, no, that's all they're gonna let you see him do now. Justin: No, he's gonna do what he's gonna do when you see it. And that's it. Like if you think in a blowout game we're gonna, I mean, they did do that flea flicker in... when they didn't have to but it was like you know what fuck you we flea flea flea flicker we flea flea flea we we flicked the flea yeah we'll do that but they weren't gonna show they weren't gonna show the full t-mo package they weren't gonna show off everything that we're gonna do we're gonna do it in chunks and there and it's week one what we do in week 16 Jake: it's not even there yet right it's not even in the playbook it's not even because But the defense, man, that first team defense, the one who played before the half, I feel like they put in the second team on the second, but they didn't. Wow. They played good. Wow. No sacks. Lots of, lots of... I don't care. Interceptions are better than sacks. Yeah, lots of hurries, which I think cause the turnovers. That's something I'm just going to put out there right now.
01 Jake: I'd rather have interceptions than sacks. Oh, me too. Right? Because interceptions are turnovers, changing the game. A sack, you know. Justin: Before we forced four turnovers. Yep. Three picks. A lot of that's pressure driven. So you're getting pressure. You might not get sacks, but I saw we walloped him a few times. Yeah. He had a call for once. David Harris walloped him once real good. Culpals hit him a couple times real, real good. Jake: Let's just say it's a rookie day. I mean, of the two players who I think of in this game, and I'm not, you know, I'm gonna make one of them or... one of the many of mine in my uh my uh I'm gonna I'm gonna pick only one night although Justin: I'm in a game like this you can pick more than one but I mean look at look at those two guys Jake: like Stephen Hill two touchdowns two touchdowns he's a rookie he has two touchdowns in the first game if he doesn't have any of that's not true as I say if he doesn't have any touchdowns for the season I did this stat with the other day, a buddy of mine, the guy who, the Giants fan, we made this bet three years ago, right? Yeah, we have told you about this. This is Ramses Barton. They draft this guy in like fourth or fifth round or whatever, the Giants. And he's like, this guy's going to put up 10 touchdowns this year. Yeah, he's like six, seven. Yeah, he's like, this guy's going to put 10 touchdowns this year. And I'm like, no, he's not. I said he's a rookie. He's no way. And you have good receivers. it. He will never put up 10, so he bet me this lunch. We have actually had the bet going every year now since. Not with him, but with other things. And I went, after we made the bet, shook hands, whatever, as to go out to Hooters or something, I'm like, all right, I go back and I look it up. And I'm like, let me look up rookie wide receivers and see what the best one did. It's like six or seven touchdowns. Justin: I feel like Randy Moss is my guest. Jake: Well, no, but I mean, I just went over and looked at year after year rookie guys. and it was like six or seven touchdowns was like a great year for a rookie wide receiver. You who always say wide receivers don't show up until year three need a couple years to get better. If this guy performs at half of what he performed at in that first game, we have a steal. We have a steal. This guy can't. Justin: two touchdowns. He looked very good. He did not look like how he looked in the preseason. Jake: He had one drop that like... That was the first play. That was the first play. It was the first play. It was because Tebow's on the field. That was his fault. That was funny. They put Tebow on the field and lined him up as a tight end. Yeah. That was just a... That was a... Yeah. That was a... Justin: Fuck you. Yeah. That was a... Fuck you. That was a... Oh, Tebow started. Oh yeah, Tebow started. Jake: I wonder if also that, you know, a... contractual thing. Like by having him start the first game of the first whatever does he get some sort of bonus roster something. Then we wouldn't have started him. Maybe they made an agreement with him or something I don't know. Anyway what do you think? So give me your play of the game. Any more thoughts on the game? You have any thoughts on our Friday or Monday? No I mean I I think our Our jibber game, our quarterback played great. Justin: You know our art which funny Sanchez. It's funny cuz you know I throw out there to a bunch a group of friends who are
01 Jake: Everybody knows you have a bunch of bills fans of these are not bills fans Justin: These are these are mix a mixed bag of Giants fans jets, and we have like an ongoing chat thing on our phones Yes. I say, you know, back when the manning thing was going on, I was against it. I said, no, we have a quarterback coming into his fourth year and he's a winner and I think he's going to be good. And to give up on him now is very short-sighted for a quarterback who's had four neck surgeries in a year and a half and hasn't played in the whole season and whatever. And hey, he looked good last night, but we'll see. Right. And they were making fun of me about it, and then we did the T-boat thing is like oh, you'd rather have T-boat and then manning okay, and So I just sent a little note in I very very snarky, but it was like it was something about Sanchez and and being shitty or something like that yeah, and they responded back with This is like a typical giant fan thing to do. Sorry Giants fans like like they respond back with not like oh Yeah, he had a good game or he played well. It was Fitzpatrick gave you that game It's not for this that He still had some really bad throws and then my other jet fan friend who's on this thing finally stands up. He goes He was 19 of 27. He had three touchdowns. And you're picking on the fact that Fitzpatrick sucked? What is wrong with you guys? So he had that one stupid interception at the beginning of the game, which seems like a perennial Sanchez has to throw his stupid interception in the first quarter of the first game. Jake: That was a, that was a shuttle pass. What was it like? Justin: Just a, that was a dumb play. He should have done it. Throw it out of bounds play. Jake: And it was one of those that. normally the guy wouldn't have got it or he would have got it and just went out. Justin: It was tipped and it tipped into the wrong team's hand. Right. Fine. But that's a typical dumb Sanchez start. But what I love to see is that that typical Sanchez stupid thing didn't turn him into a spiral. No, he went on and he 70% completion percentage which is So far beyond I mean if he gets if he finishes the year at 60, it's like Wow good season QB rating 123 nice higher than mr. Timmy Brady Jake: Yeah, oh how you gonna have to Tom Brady now is higher you look at the end to that the one the one game He's in his in he was ahead of Tom Brady right there Tom Brady I mean the highest QB rating of the day was RG3 at a crazy game yesterday. Yeah, yeah, it was a crazy game. Justin: But anyway, I thought Sanchez played a hell of a game. It's funny that like Keller, he must have really still been hurt. Because if you looked at the breakdown, he didn't play that much. Right. Like he only played in a little less than half the snaps. Cumberland played quite a bit. Yep. And you know so so he only hit
01 Justin: He only hit him once for seven yards like he barely played yeah, and The guy who he had the most Miscommunications with was Holmes like he missed Holmes on what I thought was three Times where Holmes was open right and they missed and you can't tell you don't know whose fault it is Either the ball came out early, the ball came out late, it was ahead of him, it was behind him or whatever. He missed him a few times. That would have been like, wow, perfect game. Because Holmes ended up having a really good game. And if his hand doesn't touch down slightly before his foot, he has a spectacular game. A great catch in the end zone. Jake: So here's the thing. So I just want to, I'm going to throw you out onto the bus a little bit. You're going to throw me under the bus? Yeah, because of your heritage. So we went with your father. Oh, well my father's an old school, Justin: curmudgeon-y jet fan. Jake: At the beginning of this thing, he's like, first of all, the jets have no quarterbacks zero quarterbacks. And he says, we have no weapons, no stars. No weapons. And I'm like, Justin: That's an old school, curmudgeon-y jet fan point of view. Jake: Well, I agree that we don't have, there's some places I don't think we have huge stars. I don't think we have stars in the Russian game. I think we have guys. We have players. But I think we have some stars on the receiving game. I think you say San Antonio Holmes and I say he's a star. Is he a fantasy star? No. Does he acquire people's attention? Yes. Can he make incredible plays and change games multiple times? Yes he can. That's great. I think Stephen Hill and the other guy probably looked good. I'm sorry but Curly looks good. Curly's the guy I said before the year is gonna have a good season. He stays healthy. He is good. So let's stay there. Alright. My knight is Jeremy Curly. Oh nice! So 4 for 45? 4 for 45. One of them was a great touchdown catch. Beautiful touchdown. Justin: He's money on 3rd down in the slot. That's what you want. Um, and he's a game-changing, uh, punt returner. We saw that there are people outside the door here with children knocking. Get out of here. It's a studio. Like, we don't want Jeremy Curly. Jeremy Curly had a great game. First, Jett to return a punt for a touchdown and receive a touchdown in the same game. Yep. Second longest punt return for a touchdown in Jett's history. So, had a couple of record type things going on and that, that, his touchdown was the second touchdown and that punt return came right after it on a three and out punt return touchdown. He scored 14 points in about, I don't know. I can even look here. He scored... Oh, I'm sorry, the first touchdown was to Curly. So, you know, but he did end up scoring two touchdowns within like eight minutes of each other. And that pump return, I mean, the game was over. Right. We're sitting there in the crowd. Jake: Yeah, game was over. Yeah, it's like enjoy the bills are going nowhere. No
00 Jake: I mean Jeremy Curly and you're gonna end up on return with his poncho's a play in Yeah, I'm gonna go Tim Tebow as mine. No, I'm just kidding. Uh Well, interesting. So again, I said this did I was the one thing on Tim Tebow again What we saw, you know someone said oh was that is I always gonna do I said no That's what he's gonna do this week and wait until it matters, like the Patriots. I wouldn't want the Patriots to know anything what he's gonna do, and I think a lot of what we did yesterday was to set it up, like knowing he didn't throw. Justin: He's gonna throw, dude. Yeah, he ran the same Wildcat that the Dolphins ran. There was no wrinkle to it. Right. It was that slot receiver comes in motion. And the snap comes and you make one of three choices. You hand it to that guy coming across, you hand it to the guy next to you, or you run it. And it was that very simple, straightforward, there was nothing special about it. It was the thing we saw the dolphins do time after time after time after time. Jake: There was no wrinkle to it whatsoever. My night is Mr. Hill. I'm just, I'm, as I watched him in practice, drop balls. As I watched him in preseason drop balls, and then I watched him in the first game in the play, drop a ball, I was like, oh, frick, this guy. Like, this guy, I'm worried. Now, I think, now when you used to say, who's that threat, long way to go, not gonna call it yet, but he's a big, fast guy who can go way up to get the ball, he's a threat. If you just looked out, if you projected him out the rest of the season and go, I know it's too early, I know, just don't want to jump on the bandwagon too soon, but like, who's the replacement for Plaxical Burris? This guy is. He's fast and he's huge. Justin: He's different than Plax because he can play between the 20s. Well, that's it. So he's not, he's not necessarily the red zone threat that Plax was, but he's the guy who will make a 33 yard catch. Right. Big number for Stephen Hill, 17.8. Yards per catch. Yards per catch. That's a big number. 17.8, that's a lot of yards per catch. Jake: So he gets my... Did it have a drop? First it'll happen. Yeah, but I think that's what's gonna happen. But if he, hey, you sign me up every... He gets one drop and two touchdowns every game and I'll be happy. If he drops one out of six, I'm okay with that. One out of six is absolutely fine. Play the game. I kinda wanna go defense. I kinda wanna go the Kramarti interception. You think that one? I thought the Rebus interception was bigger. It was a better interception because the Rebus- I thought it was bigger. The Camardis one was like thrown right to him. It was like, hey, play catch, catch it. I thought it was bigger. I'm just gonna argue your play because we had just thrown the pick. Yeah. And given them the ball. Turns around, yeah. And then we took the ball right back. But Camardis was another nail in the coffin because it was another seven points. Oh yeah. And it was to start the third quarter too. That's also just a team killer. It was a back-to-back turn. Justin: That was the second of a back-to-back turnover possession. So we had the ball at the end of the first half.
00 Justin: We went down. We kicked the field goal with the minute 57 right after the two-minute warning, which I thought Curly got a first down on that play. And the refs didn't overturn it on the challenge. Tuck a little about the refs. Let's go in a second. All right. I so we kick a field goal We kick the field goal. Yeah, we give the ball to the to the bills. It's like all right, you know We're up 24 7 but they have two possessions in a row here They have a two-minute drill and then they get the ball to start the half so they get they get the ball on the with the two minutes left and We forced the fumble we then take the ball back down the field get a field goal go in up 27 7 And then they come out and immediately throw a pick six to make it 34 seven and at that point games over Jake: Yeah, it's basically over and and Fitzpatrick was just rattled. He's not going to totally rattled. We hit him picked him Justin: Yeah, I mean we didn't sack him but we hit him Jake: Definitely hit him again I don't care you want to you want to throw three three picks ones and for a touchdown every game and never touch him Justin: That's fine. And again, we were missing we were missing poo-ah on defense. So that's a defensive line. That's like two years old at this point. Well, the starters were, I think DeVito started. DeVito, Wilkerson, and Ellis, but Coppols was in there a lot. Dixon was in there a lot. So when you think about it, it's like, oh, all right. Well, Puah's back. Then our rotation is like, not only is Puah... a better player than Ellis, but the rotation is a deeper rotation. Yeah. So there'll be fresher that running. They won't they won't be running through holes like that. Right. Hopefully to be having linebackers and safeties missing tackles in the open field. That that's but I like the fact that happened because there's something to look at and say, no, no, no, guys, we're not. Jake: Our shit doesn't stink and that our shit does say whatever you want to say Landry Like he is a monster is what he we thought he was he when he puts when he comes to you and he hits you You'll remember it. He's gonna get called. I know he's gonna get called in this game, but he's gonna get called There's gonna be 15 yard pounces, but they might be worth it. Yeah, they might be also ambulances It might be worth that man hits If those two safeties, I mean, I don't want to, it's weird to say to pin a season on something, but those two safeties I think are like the thing of our season. Those two safeties stay healthy and play at high level. I mean, think of that backfield with those two safeties in the two corners. It's like, well, what are you going to do? What are you going to do? Yeah. And Kyle Wilson played well too. Kyle Wilson. Yeah. Kyle Wilson actually playing very well. Justin: They played well. All right. You wanted to move on. What do you want to move on to? Jake: Let's move on. Let's talk a little bit about the rest of the NFL. Anything? I mean, let's open it and leave again. Justin: There's one thing that sticks out to me. Yeah? This is your fuck you? Jake: I have a fuck you. I have a fuck you. I have two of them. Do you recall what my Super Bowl prediction was? I think both teams lost to this week. What was my Super Bowl prediction? It was Jets Bears.
03 Jake: That's right. Yes, just when. Jets win. You didn't have a score and you didn't have an M&A. Justin: Who are the two highest scoring teams in the league? Week one. Jake: The Jets and the Bears. Damn right they were. Oh nice. I just thought I'd throw that out. Bears put 41 on the board. Alright. If we look at the AFC East, our picks from last week. Justin: We had Miami losing to Houston. I had it 31-13. You had it 27-13. What did it end up? It ended up 10-13. 10-13. So we were both pretty spot on. Yep. New England, Tennessee. I had 35-17. You had 31-13. They ended up 34-13. We were both... pretty darn close there. Ooh, I was really close. And we both missed this jet game badly. We both had them at 17. I had nine. If you add up both of our scores, that still wasn't even Jake: the score that we put. Not even close. Rookie quarterbacks, did you see the end of the Seattle, Arizona game yesterday? I was watching it, but I was watching a lot of stuff that time. I was Catching up. Justin: Man. I was very impressed with Russell Wilson at the end of that game. Like we couldn't see RG3's performance early and I understand he played really, really well and they won. We were at the JET game, but I was able to, I had the Red Zone on and they did a great, oh man, the Red Zone did a fantastic job. They were just flipping back and forth between the Green Bay 49ers game because that was a one score game and Green Bay was driving and the Seattle Arizona game which was like back and forth back and forth and Arizona scored um, Skeleton got hurt Kolb comes in, leads him all the way down the field for a touchdown, they go up four Russell Wilson comes in, he gets to run a two minute drill he gets him all the way down inside the ten yep And they and they they have four downs to score touchdown and they blew it they like Braelyn Edwards ran a pattern couldn't hit him But it was I was really impressed with some of the rookie quarterback play like RG 3 I'd also Wilson but some of them the guy we said would suck the worst we didn't the 28 year old Jake: There's a reason he's 28. He's now a rookie. He sucks. Yeah, he had a he had a quarterback rating like five five. Yeah five Like one, two, three, four, five. And Tannehill did not look good. No, can't wait for week three. Oh, I'd love to get, well I guess we'll get him. We're gonna kill him. He might be dead. He's no, I mean, he's a guy that- We're gonna kill him and I'm taking his wife. Then no, no, I'll take Jake Long's wife. You take her. Jake Long's wife, I'll just be like, I'm Jake. Justin: We'll both be doing fine. I'm like, I'm Jake. I'm Jake, I'm Long. What's up, baby? What's up? Jake: What's up, baby? Wow. Wow. Hope they're not listening. Sorry girls. Sorry, hon. I like She thinks she's hot too
00 Jake: Yeah, all this stuff that really I mean Sam Cisco 49ers, they're the real deal. No joke. No joke. They went into Lambo and Justin: Their defense is fucking unreal. Yeah That's two games in a row though that I've seen Aaron Rodgers look completely human. The last game I saw him play was against the Giants and they shut him down. And this Niners team just, I mean they just, but they put up some points. Jake: So Green Bay definitely did not address their issues on defense. 49ers should not come into your house and drop 30 on you. And then Denver against Pittsburgh last night. I fell asleep. I know. I was so tired. It's still 31-19, no one saw that coming, like... Well, Manning is, uh, back, maybe? Justin: Yeah, he looked pretty... Question mark? He looked pretty good. So I'm looking at these stats, right? And, um, there's... There's literally only a handful of starting quarterbacks that were sacked. zero times and one of them was Mark Sanchez. That's the thing we actually forgot to discuss. We missed that. We actually... Because I'm looking, I'm like, oh, how many times did Manny get sacked? Oh, wow, he got sacked twice. Yeah. Okay. And then I'm like, oh, Sanchez only got sacked zero times. Jake: We should give a special, a special night. Justin: To Austin Howard. For not only shutting down Mario Limbs, but also making him cry like a little bitch after the game. You mean, wind about it. Yeah. Winding about the officials. Like, the official- like it was the official's fault you couldn't get to Mark Sanchez and not the guy standing in front of you. Jake: You fucking bitch. And, and- Overpaid bitch. 100 million dollar bitch. Here's the thing. We now know we have a huge fan. deep in the heart of the Jets who listen to the Jet Kingdom podcast. Who's that? And we know why now. Who is that? Because at the end of the game what did they play? Oh they played our song. They dropped the bomb on you. They dropped the bomb on you. So Justin and I... Justin: I was after Sean Green scored. Maybe only when Sean Green scores and when we run one in. Jake: I want that every time. Every touchdown. We need a song. We need a song. Here goes the Jets. Justin: The Giants. Let's just... Explain where this is. We've gotten some Giants games and they have Back in the New York Groove that they play after they score every time. Right. After touchdown. Touchdown. And it's awesome. The crowd goes nuts. They sing along. Back in the New York Groove. Back in the New York Groove. It's a great song. And we like to drop the bomb on you song. Right. Which they post on the Jets. blog after we beat somebody. Jake: It's awesome. And the guy looks like Calvin Pace. He does. And the graphics are cool as shit. And they make this. Justin: They throw it up on the board. Jake: They make these stupid dance moves that are kind of fun. And there's jets dropping bombs. Yeah. Oh, that's perfect. So anyway. Justin: We were like, oh, should we leave? And I heard the intro. I was like, no, wait. Jake: Do, do, do, do, do, do. No, wait. You took a bomb on me. Oh, so good. So here's the thing. I think we should, here's what I think we should do. I think we should start an online petition. and get JEDS fan to sign it. And let's try to get them to put a song. I don't care if it's that song, I'd love it for that song,
00 Jake: but we need a touchdown song that we all just get behind and it's the song they play every time. Because when we were walking into the stadium, there was a nice number of Buffalo Bills fans. And all they were doing was singing their touchdown song. What? it. Hey, hey, Buffalo, but the hey Let's go Buffalo at the chart. That's a charge. No, no, they found a song It is a touchdown song we have a nice on song then is our Jets chant. No, that's our kickoff song No, we do that when they do a touchdown. No, we do it when they know we do it after we've scored and we're kicking All right. Well, no, that's a song they play it. Okay, but that's like a takeoff on its Yeah, it is. But who cares? But they have it playing. You dropped the bomb on me. That should be our song. That's a better song. Totally. Anyway, we got that song. All right, well, this is your special Monday podcast. We will be back on. Justin: We didn't even mention the line, the O-line, how great they played it. We just did. We just did. We just did. Austin Howard. Great job. No sax. D-Brick. Great job. Only one penalty and it was on mangled. Jake: Vevis. Minor concussion. So he's okay. Is it listed as a minor concussion? Minor concussion as of today. Justin: Is there such a thing as a minor concussion? Jake: I feel like a concussion is a concussion. No, that's when they want you to come back and play next week. Yeah. I'm excited. I would tell you, I'm still concerned about this game, and we're not making predictions yet, these upcoming games. Definitely 49ers. Steelers look like they had a little bit of rust on them, but you know you can't get them down twice. What's your FU? Oh, Skip Bayless. He was on- Skip is an asshole. Justin: He's been my FU before. Jake: I know, but he was doing a whole Tim Tebow thing, and he was like, he was hurt. His back was hurt. He wasn't able to play his game. Like, he was making excuses? Yes! Why? Why do we need excuses? He did what he was supposed to do. He did what he was supposed to do. Back up the quarterback. The only thing is, at the end of the game, I wish they wouldn't have put Sanchez back in there. There was no reason. If that was Tom Brady, they would have sat his ass down. No, they wouldn't have. It's the exact opposite. But then fine. The Pats never sit Tom Brady. They always play him. Yeah. Well, that's why he's got a play face. It's because they always play him. I'm saying you sit that quarterback and you let and let 10 people go in there and throw some balls. I don't give a shit. Just let him play like actual. He is the actual backup. Let him play like a backup. Justin: Nah. Let Sanchez finish it like he did. Jake: Come on. 21 points in a- Justin: 21 I was plenty happy. I was sitting there like good Sanchez finished that game on one point lead you you sit your quarterback So I have a fuck you all right. Who's my fuck you I feel like I could do this every week But I happen to be listening to Francesca Mike Francesca on Santa fat teska whatever you want to call yeah Jake: The other day I was in the cars Friday. He does the football Friday, and yeah Justin: was Thursday whatever it was and he closed his he closed it was the Thursday and I was like oh he's gonna be talking about the Giants I want to listen to like the Giants calling like getting upset and like and like overreacting to one Jake: game like we are right now overreacting to one game and yeah he ends his yeah he
02 Justin: ends his show with for out of nowhere the Jets are a bunch of clowns the Jets are a circus he took Jake: it from the of course and well I wrote and the New York Post headline writer so whoever that is and Mike Francesa fuck you okay well we'll go show say Mike every week I mean, he's a douchebag. But he plays all this. He knows that Jeff fans get crazy about it, so then he does it so people listen. Justin: He's also just a doucher. Jake: He is a doucher. All right, well, that's it.
