00:20 Jake: Welcome to Jet Kingdom Podcasts, longest running New York jazz podcast ever. I'm Jake joining me 254 times in a row the one the only Justin: Justin how you doing bud? I'm good. Thank you. I'm getting better every day Jake: Do you want to explain to the audience your current ailments? It doesn't feel like every time we get on there Justin: My mouth surgery. Your mouth surgery? And never... Are you on drugs this point now? Yeah you are. God man. I'm on drugs right now guys. He is so on drugs. Wasty, wastey, wastey. So good. Jake: So when we argue about stuff, it'll be just easier to pick you off because... Justin: When we argue about stuff now, it'll just be more of a level playing field than it normally is. Jake: I'm not a bandwagon fan. I'm a irrational fan. Not even fair with it. For someone to go to some more games than you. I didn't say leaving. None of those things said, relent don't make it up. R.I. Justin: Oh, well, I guess we can start with the giant game. Sorry we missed last week. I was having surgery, like I already mentioned. We went to the giant game because we have a buddy who is a giant season ticket holder, and he invited the two of us to go to that game specifically, which was very nice of him. Thank you. And we were sitting there and it was the third quarter. Jake: Second quarter they said it, but anyway. Justin: It was 3.21 and there's no way it was the second quarter. That's true. So you get up in a huff to go to the bathroom,
03:01 Justin: and I get a text from the bathroom. So you're like, cock in one hand, texting in the other. Awesome. , so I want to do it. And you the like, done. That's right. I meant that I was done. peeing. No, you meant done with team because you were so aggravated. I was so aggravated. And meanwhile, the team that you say can't drive, that you say can't do it. Meanwhile, they're just jelling right now coming out into their own. They're a top 10 defense and a top 10 defense. They are the number one red zone offense in the league. They're the number one red zone defense in the league. And all your complaining and bitching and moaning and they're sitting here at eight and five. And they're looking halfway decent as of right now. They're in the playoffs yet they don't control their own destiny, which is weird. Weird to see yourself sitting in the playoffs and then... Knowing that you don't actually control your own destiny that fucking Raiders loss is gonna be the thing Jake: Oh, we can talk about we can talk about the playoff scenarios Justin: Yes, I don't really know them that well yet. We got to wait Jake: Oh, we know what we know what we have to do and we know if those other two teams happen What will happen like we know if we actually don't yes, we do if we all three went out We're not in the playoffs. Justin: That's the only thing we really know. Right. If you can't do the other. Jake: If we went out and one of them drops, we're in the playoffs. Justin: and they'd probably still be ahead of us. Jake: But would they flip with Pittsburgh? Justin: Yeah, because Pittsburgh, I think, they just beat them and they probably end up with a better division record. Jake: Well, let me defend myself in the Jets versus, Yes. Yes I am. You can't, there's nothing to defend. I will. Justin: You were like, done. Yes. Done, I hate this team, done. Jake: No, you can't, no, don't put words in my mouth. Justin: I hate, I hate, they can't drive. Jake: I didn't say that. They can't. You do not have a text. They always say they can't drive. Yes. Never drive. No, in the games that I'm in, where they go for five, three of an ounce. Justin: All the games you're in that you're playing. Jake: I watch. And in the ones that I go to. And then I'm sitting there watching this team. cannot drive down the field, yes. I'm right, they can't drive. At this point, they have been playing three really good games. This is a, so now you say you take the last three sample games, you go, they've been playing really well. They're still beating up on really terrible teams, but they're winning. And it's great, and I feel good. Schedule is what the schedule is. It is, until you hit the playoffs. When it's not what it is anymore,
06:00 Jake: it's actually playing real teams. Not three win teams, not two win teams, not teams that are gonna pick in the top five of the draft next year. We're talking teams that actually have won more games than they've lost. So what I've been saying all season is We are having a lot of fun with the best times of our game I've ever seen and I will say it's a lot of fun. I've never seen any of the best times of my game. Justin: I've never seen anything like this before. I've never seen anything like this before. Pittsburgh has Denver, Denver. Yeah, and then they play you know, they finish up with their division which is crap And since in that our Kansas City, I don't I don't think they see a good team. They've won seven in a row It's hard to win ten in a row Really hard. Yeah, so I don't know if they can sustain that plus they almost lost to San Diego Like they won 10-3. That's pretty crap. Jake: So yeah, am I more excited about this team? Yes. It's hard to keep my want for this team to do great, but my reality and my feeling that I just can't see them going very far and me not knowing what this team is next year. And I know I keep saying that, but. I'm starting to, sadly, I'm starting to believe that maybe Fist Magic is someone who could be on the team next year and actually play and maybe could do something or could, I don't know, it's just hard to imagine. Justin: But he's been playing very, very good in the last couple of games and kudos to him. The Giants number nine yards per game. Jake: Yeah? It's real! Justin: Number 9. Jets. Number 10 points per game. 25 points a game. Jake: No, and he's setting... It's the first time we're gonna have what? 2,000 yard receivers? Justin: It is the first time that we will have two 1,000 yard receivers since Cribet and Kishon in 1998. It will be the it looks like it will be the first time and it also looks like it'll be the first time that we'll have 2,000 yard receivers both with 10 plus touchdowns ever That's crazy like never happened before yeah He's also in terms of Fitzpatrick He's four touchdowns away from Vinnie's 29 in that 98 season from taking the all time, like most touchdowns that were thrown in a single season for the Jets record. So for all his faults and for all his being basically average, he's... He's playing well enough to get the job done at the moment for sure.
09:03 Jake: But he's playing above average. I mean at this point he's playing above his... Justin: Gutsy. He's very gutsy. So let's talk about that giant game real quick. Um, we did do some stupid garbage that basically got us in trouble. Their offense kind of barely scored against us. We were winning Three nothing and then we gave up a pump return for a touchdown Which will happen against the jet special teams because it just happens We then did a pretty good job because we turned the ball over on a fumble and gave the Giants the ball at the 10 and held them to a field goal. We then gave up the big play to, or sorry, we tied the game with a really nice screen to Powell, 10-10. Um, we gave up the huge play to Odell Beckham, which he just seems to have one of those every goddamn game Jake: Yeah, I will say that is the thing that doesn't make me feel too bad about it because he kind of does that to everybody Justin: He just did it again this week like an ADR touchdown. He just does it every week um And we basically gave up 20 points in the second quarter Which means we shut them out in the first quarter and we shut them out And the rest of the game they didn't score in the third fourth and over time we know that Jake: That's the field we also have to write a you know put into Kauffman's retirement fund Justin: Just write a little thank you note. Yes because he had the opportunity. I mean they had a drive In that third spanning like the third Into the fourth quarter that lasted what seemed like forever. Oh, yeah, I think it was like 10 minutes wasn't it? It was 10 minutes. I think it was like Technically 16 plays. Yeah, but there were so many penalties that it was like 20 something snaps and it just went on and on and on and then eventually it was fourth and two from the four and they even took a timeout because the players were like screw we want to go for it and Sitting there and I'm like, why is he called timeout? I looked at our buddy who took us the giant family Why does he call a timeout? Like shouldn't he just know what he wants to do? He's like, oh he called timeout to think it over. I'm like, well, he's gonna think it over He ought to just kick a goddamn field goal because if you're thinking it over you're gonna take a minute and you're gonna be like Right the right thing to do is not to listen to these guys who just want to go for it and to kick a damn Fuel well, and if they boo me fuck them right because we're gonna win the game right and they can cheer for me later Jake: although again The way it turned out in that we went down kicked a field goal went down scored touchdown to tie We knew we needed to
12:01 Justin: Well, we would have we probably played the first series differently We would not have stopped and kicked the field. Right? I mean we went way down the field That's what I'm saying. We drove down twice. It's 24 yard field goal, right? So you're you're down there at that point, but you have to go for you right make a play on fourth down which he did on the later drive right on fourth down and ran for a nice first down and It was a great game by Marshall. It was a great game by Fitsy who threw the ball 50 times and did not get picked. So 50 attempts, 390 yards, that's quite a bit. 72% completion percentage on that game. That's crazy. Pretty awesome. Help Manning and Chek for the most part outside of that 70 something yard play to back him, all without Rebus. So... for that game where are you going with uh your player or night of the game and your play of the game um no no for me this is rad why don't you go first then well this is a marshall all the way game to me this was brandon marshall put him on his shoulders and said i got it in the second half and was targeted 13 times, caught 12 balls. It's amazing. Like only one ball that was thrown towards him was not caught by him. And he scored the big touchdown at the end. It was like, all right, I'm taller than this guy. Just throw it up, I'll go up and catch it. And I feel like they should just. That play works like every time with him. Just throw the ball short and he will jump up and catch the ball. So that's my night end play. The play is the touchdown and to tie it in the fourth with 32 seconds left. And my player is Marshall for having just another fantastic game. Jake: Yeah, my play is that fourth down. The fourth down scrambled by Fitz. I would give it to Fitz, but I think I'm gonna save it. I'll give it to the kicker because he hit... Bullock. Randy Bullock. Because, you know what? He's not like some guy we've had around and like a reliable guy. He was the third string kicker on a team. He was released and we picked him up in the middle of the season. Justin: I think he was third string on Texans. No. Jake: Like he was. Justin: Alright, he played all last year. He was their kicker. Right, then they bring in someone else. Jake: Then they release him. Justin: Well, they released him. There's no third string kicker when you started the whole season. Jake: No, but I'm saying he's not like Nick Folk. He's not someone we know. He's a guy who was released from another team. Kickers are kind of like trash pile. I just throw them out there, but if you have a good one, you keep them. So he clearly wasn't very good down there. Justin: Yeah, but you can't just say, oh, there is no such thing as a third string kicker.
15:01 Jake: Okay, he was a backup kicker. Justin: There's no such thing as a backup kicker either. Okay. You have a kicker. Then he's either on a team or not. Jake: Then he's a Waverwild pickup kicker. That's fair. Excellent. And to come in and make two- Because who's our third string kicker? Yeah, I'm no third string. Precisely. Well, in training camp, you do have three kickers. You try them out and then you make a decision. You cut the other two. Justin: But you did play the whole year last year. Jake: I understand. But clearly, something happened that they released him. Something happened, whatever. You know, it wasn't money. It's a freaking kicker. He skipped fine for the job. That's what I'm saying, and to do a kick in overtime. you know, when it's when it really matters and they do a kick in the fourth quarter when it really matters, those are the ones that it really matters that you actually make those kicks and like Not that every kick should matter but those are those are big ones and they were two big ones and they weren't long and he's missed one since So i'm going to give him, you know, give him the night of the game for this game Justin: I'm just looking at his stats. He played three games for the Texans this year Jake: And then was released. Justin: And then was cut by the Texans after week. You have to be doing something pretty bad. He did. He missed. He missed. In week one, he missed an extra point. In week three, they lost 19 to nine. And he missed a field goal and he missed an extra point. So... Then they released him. He was having trouble with extra points. But so far he's been perfect with us in terms of extra points and he's missed one field goal. Right. So far so good and I actually think... I think he just kicks off better. Kickoffs are better. He's got a bigger leg than Phulp. Yeah. He kicks the ball through the end zone. Yeah. Phulp goes... It was very rare that that actually Randy Bull there you go, buddy. Not bad. Yeah, I mean just again Jake: It looked like we didn't have a kicker that we could trust me. That was those are two crunch kicks That's what I'm saying again. They weren't long, but they're crunch kicks. I was I mean when we scored the touchdown Justin: I mean, I I think I said to you I said to our buddy's father who's at the game. I said Fuck I hate this extra point rule now Right Because it's like a real field goal you have to make Right To tie the game and it's not, it's an extra point It's like it used to be like, yeah we tied the game Like, you know, we tied it Now it's like, no you have to make a 33 yard field goal to tie the game Like, shit I'm worried, I really don't know this guy Right He made it good for him. Let's move on to Tennessee around the Tennessee Tennessee Jake: So I would describe this as most people I think are and this is sort of the most perfect game I've seen all season in terms of just Just really really good from all around whether it's the defense the special teams Whether it's you know, again, we did miss a miss a field goal Very complete, but it's just it just was like
18:03 Jake: It was the exact game we needed. And I think that we were talking about it, and I was like, this is a game, you know, the all talk of the trap game. This is a game that gave bowls in my mind a plus one on the chart. Like, cause this is a game I feel like could have been a trap, could have been just a, here comes this really crappy team that's only won three games, and maybe the record isn't as... true is it whatever but they're still they've won three games and they fire their coach and they fire the coach and they got a rookie quarterback who has showing splashes of whatever but you know he's still a rookie quarterback and this should be a this should be the game we saw and i like it when the jets do what you think they should do go in shut them down completely running complete shutdown and then just shut and then just shut them down like literally if not for one stupid play and a He tripped and I watched that play a couple times like there's a bit of shut up. Justin: He tripped over this 20 and he tripped over to Hoffa. Jake: Just tripped and he tripped over himself going what the fuck is this play? Justin: Why is this guy doing this? He's a quarterback. But yeah it was a total... Jake: I mean a half time the game was over. Yeah, and we and we can we came out early and started and started just moving Again, this team has been as much as you don't think it's true. They have struggled in the first quarter That's not true. They have and their first drives go will find the stats documented go find the stats of their scoring on the first drive I think it's happened twice all year. No, it's I think it is their first drive Justin: They struggle in the second quarter, that's a well-documented situation. Jake: And they come in and if they're ahead, this team generally, the Jads do well. I mean, they're not a great comeback team. So that's why these last two teams, these last two games are kind of great because they're showing, hey, we can be behind and comeback and win, which is a great talent of a team. And we can be a team that if you're just a... Crap team we're just gonna beat you and beat you already. I've pointed this out too many times this season Justin: They've now played 12 games or 13 games We've been we've lost only one game by more than seven Yeah We have blown out quite a few teams and we should the teams that we really should we have right? Like this was a game that we should That's why they call it a trap game. It's like, you should dominate this game. Jake: And then they don't. Justin: It's like, you get trapped into that mentality and you don't really think of it as just another game. Well, they did. And they went out and they got the ball and they scored immediately. They were up 10-0. Then it snowballed to 13-0. And then it was 20-0. And then before you know it, it's like, well, all right, it's 20 nothing. We just got the ball back. A good team scores here to just nail in the coffin. You know what they did? They fucking scored 27 nothing at half. And it's like, wow, feel really good about this game at halftime.
21:03 Justin: I can sit back, relax, eat to my scream and enjoy the show. Because it was like 60 degrees. Jake: It was beautiful. We're just sitting there and it's beautiful out And well, let's talk about what we got to go to the green room Justin: We used the the fan Appreciation point just rewards. Yeah the Jets reward system because we tap into every game with the cards and earned the points to do a breakfast at the stadium. So show up 9.30, go to the green room, which is I would say like just above the 100 level. So like the main level is nice box where they set up a decent breakfast spread. Chad Pennington was there. the whole time. There's breakfast with Chad. Breakfast with Chad. We ate, we had some eggs and some other stuff. We were just sort of hanging and the field was empty. They were practicing all the in-game stuff that we saw later. It was kind of funny. Jake: It was very funny. Justin: I was like, I bet this is what they're going to do and I bet they're going to do that. We got in line, we got pictures taken with Chad. We got to go down onto the field, which was a lot of fun, like warm ups. like the official team warm-ups hadn't started. It was just guys out there sort of limbering up and throwing the ball around and just doing their little pregame rituals that they do. It was really interesting to see like who's out there early, who's not out there early, who does what. You know, both quarterbacks, Gino and Fitz were out there throwing the ball around. and uh chromartie was out there really working out he really just like really getting a full workout in it was kind of crazy how intense he was about it which i liked about i like to see that um and uh you know brino jaccomini was out there big snacks was out there and we got some really interesting perspectives on that. Picture taken with chat penning. I already said that so on drugs I did I did a selfie with Chad and I tagged it jet selfie and I got I was up on the big board yeah, game, which is kind of neat first time ever and Yeah, lots of fun pregame and lots of fun during the game So this is like another one like who should we pick for the player of this game? I don't know. I were the whole fucking team Uh, Reavis was back, didn't matter, nobody to cover. Jake: Oh, and they're wide receivers. I mean, I just... Decimated, decimated by the dream. And just drops, like, for no reason. Like, open field, no one on you. Justin: Kendall Wright wasn't playing. Their best player from a receiving perspective was Delaney Walker. Um, he was being covered a lot by Buster Screen, actually. He kind of lines up as a receiver a lot even though he's a tight end
24:00 Justin: So who do you like is your so I'm gonna give it this game or your night of this game Jake: I'm actually gonna give it to somebody who Feds no, I'm not gonna be the feds you need a couple you went three more you get for me It's someone who has like in the last two games has been sort of come out and all of a sudden is a major I say a major part of the offense Blah pow all of a sudden just showed up and he's a he's a receiving threat. He's a running threat He's like this little scrambling dude who is I mean, he's just making plays and like I mean, you know touchdowns obviously is important but broken tackles and They'd Tennessee didn't want to play that play where he like ran through five guys And when the last guy just kind almost like put his hands up and just said here you go touchdown Justin: I don't touch Jesus like no. Oh, I mean it was ridiculous Jake: But uh, yeah, I've really been impressed and cuz he's kind of been I don't know a very good skill set Justin: He's the kind of back that, and this is gonna be blasphemy, but if he was on the pads, he'd be like that guy, right? They always have like two running backs, like the rosier guy and then that other guy, and that other guy's usually like a big part of their passing offense. Powell has that skill set, he can line up in the slot. He can do screen passes. He can line up outside if he has to. He's it's just a matter of getting him integrated into the flow of the offense. And this is something that we haven't had in years past is almost an embarrassment of riches. It's really cool because it's like wow how do we get... Ivory his touches. How do we get Decker his targets? How do we get Marshall his targets because he needs his targets? How do we get you know then Powell into the game? And it's like how do we get all these guys into the flow of the offense? And I think that we've hit a nice stride over the last couple of weeks in Really mixing and matching with the right personnel and getting guys involved and even even Ridley ran well for the first time I think he's finally like has a rhythm the last week or two like where he's like Okay, if we needed if I ever got knocked out of the game We have the Ridley Powell come right that works just like the ivory Powell combo and they give him a series every half Yeah, and it's like okay ivory gets a break now and then he's just fresher in the fourth and running guys over and running around guys I'll stick with my statement. I made in the podcast. I still think Blau Powell is a better short yardage runner than Chris Ivory, which I think is weird, but I feel it's true and He's just a better like straight up the gut like Runner to get one yardage than Ivory is Ivory's good at hitting and then bouncing He's a way better like he wants to bounce
27:00 Justin: Even though that's not like what you traditionally think is his style, he wants to bounce the ball outside. So all those plays that they run with those trap blocks with a nouma or a decker, or whoever is sort of with that guy or Davis, they're meant for to hit that end and allow Ivory to take like two steps into the line and then bounce their way and when that works holy fuck it works right because he'll just bust off you know 30 yard runs and you'll be like whoa that's supposed to be a bruiser what's he doing running for 30 yard runs um so this was a great game i like your call there on on powell i i agree with that one that's a good one um Would like to pick Mo Wilkerson as far say if you don't pick mom. I have to pay them for you He had a game. Well he's three sacks. He had five tackles. He knocked a ball down at the line scrimmage Probably could have a couple more sacks. He was just playing out of his mind right now. He's got 12 sacks in a year and that Ivory money will go his way, you know, you're gonna have to say goodbye to some guys because you're gonna want to keep MoWook around and the defense has changed, you know, they're now a 4-3 team. I know they still say, oh, he's a 3-4 and he's actually a 4-3 tackle. It's weird because he and Richardson have changed like Richardson's playing on the end I know covering dude. I saw that I was like a cannot believe I'm watching Richardson cover a guy Jake: Is it a chance to get more people on the field? Is it just a it's a few things. Justin: I think I think they want to get their best seven people on the field. And I think with that, that means sometimes, you know, you want Richardson on the field with snacks, with Wilkerson, right, with William, right. And you want those four guys on the field. Jake: It's scary having those four guys on the field. Justin: First down, you like want those guys in the field and then. And then mixing in like on third down and passing plays, you get Malden on the field. And you like where Damara Davis has been a three down player. He's been exposed in areas. And I like the the coaching staffs. What's the opposite of stubborn? flexibility flexibility with respect to these players because Our coaching staff of the past was very stubborn about players like that's my guy I'm like, oh, that's my guy and he's good and trust me. It's fine. It's like well
30:00 Justin: No, he's watching him got beat right same bullshit route three times in a game. It's like No, he's not that good. Right? Mario Davis can't cover running backs coming out of the coming out of the backfield Aaron Henderson is clearly better at it than he is, so he's taking that responsibility. And I like to see the adaptability and flexibility of the coaching staff to say, I don't necessarily have an allegiance to this guy. I have an allegiance to playing better football. Jake: Oh and if people practice well and if they you know, they say it all the time It's like everything everything they say, you know, you see coaches say all the time Well, you know will put the best people and they'll earn their way onto the field But you don't feel like it actually happens You feel like if you're a star you get on the field and if you're terrible Why that's what I'm saying. I think it is Justin: Who would have thought like Quincy and noon would play a million more snaps than Jeremy Curley this year, at Wide Receiver. And who would have thought that, you know, coming into the season that like, Rontes Miles would get snaps at safety, like, real snaps. And that Aaron Henderson would actually take snaps away from Damario Davis. And Quinton Copples would just get cut. Right. because Malden and Trevor Riley are playing better than he is. It's very respectable. Jake: It's crazy. And it's, yeah, I totally agree. That's a great pick. I mean, I, you know what? He's a guy. I mean, obviously, you can almost give it to Brandon Marshall every time. I just want to, like, I just want to gush about how... I've just and I said this week three or four or five and I said I've never I don't think I've seen this on The field I don't think I've seen a jet have this talent level and I think now that we've gone this far like I Have just never seen it. I've never seen it. This guy has a talent. That's just not always it's the making the plays it's the catches it's the Just I mean this just he is a It's crazy to have this kind of wide receiver talent on this team. I think he's better than anybody I've seen in Green & White. Um, from that. Wide receiver. Justin: He bought a bunch of copies of the Keyshauns. Yes. Throw me the damn ball. Yes. Kind of like a gag gift for Fitz and a couple of the other wide receivers. He said he wants to write his own book about like... Being pigeonholed as like the D.Va wide receiver. Yeah, because he has been called that and I think it's sort of You know Kishan being one of them and Terrell Owens and Ocho Cinco and guys like that being the D.Va receiver It's that'd be an interesting topic. I think he's he's an insightful fella
33:16 Jake: respectable things to say. They're always well spoken. He's very well spoken when he talks on, you know, even in the interviews. He is a diva and this is a winning team with a winning... I know if this team had two wins, this would be a different Brandon Marshall we would say. Justin: You might or you might not. He's, you know, I think that he's a different person than when he was younger and he got diagnosed with his... right? Multi-personality. And I think when people go through situations like that and you sort of hit rock bottom, you learn a lot about yourself and you come out of it a much better person with a very different perspective on the world and a different perspective on people and life in general. And he clearly hit that. Just play hit that space and he's even said it himself, you know, I think it was on inside the NFL. He was talking about Who's the lineman on the Cowboys the one who Greg Hardy Greg Hardy who's clearly troubled? Yes, he was talking about it. Like, you know, Greg Hardy needs to like B B B B B B,. B he's on a team. It's moreo more than just, yeah that's a bad dude because of the things that he's done and he clearly did them. He's like, yeah that he really needs to hit rock bottom before he can get better. Almost like he's being enabled. So anyway, let's Jake: thinking about now looking back with 13G. It is, I think they are playing off each other, but I rewatch every game. I watch I throws, he almost threw three picks last game. He's getting some of the lucky things, like where the guy drops the pick, right, because he's just not good. But the thing that is, this team is a better team because like it's not even He is elevating everybody.
36:01 Jake: He is making Decker better. He's making that offensive line better. He's making the running game better because he is a real threat. And again, I'm stunned when I see him and the stats he puts up and the just, the catches he makes and the matchups. And it's just like, they can't, it's not that can't cover him, because you can cover him. He's not the fastest guy on the planet. He's not like, you know, Obeo Beckham who just like. You can't. He's just his size and his strength is almost uncomfortable. And it's just amazing. I'm almost like pinching myself as a fan. I have not seen this. I guess Kishan, you said— homes at one point, but I've never seen a consistency across game by game by game. This guy's over 100 every game, multiple touchdowns. Justin: It was being great, it's like, you know, he got off to a great start, really fast start, and then teams started to take him away, and it was hurting a little. But then we've now reacted, and it's been like, okay, you wanna take that away, fine, we'll just. Over the decker all day long right got this guy by the way So Feels or whatever First the hand back and now huge numbers and Jake: Cover both cover both very crafty Justin: very big, they're both veterans, they know how to get open. Jake: And the thing that sort of made this team, again, like you could say in the play that I've played the game, maybe you're playing the game as well, but is the blown coverage play that that is that's the type of thing that a good team, I think of Denver, smart team, I think it holds off. I think I mean, I don't want to say anybody here at painting, but like that at Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, they see something. they react Justin: yeah yes mangled yup and and cause they almost got caught yeah yeah Jake: the first time time. I've seen goals do any kind of like talking about a player in any way and he even said it to ya Justin: He was like yep almost got caught by 99. Yeah All right, this is kind of cool. They're cool with you. They like each other. Yep We're all feeling good right now because we want three straight it's easy to feel really good. It's really good. It's really Also very easy for us to do these podcasts at five and five when we're four and one and be like fuck what the fuck, right? So let's not get too high. We beat up on a couple teams. We should have beat, you know, giants are halfway decent
39:00 Justin: I don't think they're that good, but you know, they're in it, right? They're six and seven. They're they're top their division They're tied for that shit division Um beat up on tennessee whatever um, you know, let's let's And before that we beat up on Miami. So, you know, these three straight wins They're good wins. They're not great wins They're you know, the Miami one in the Tennessee one of the way you're supposed to win the giant one technically a road game It felt like a giant game and yeah, but not really quite quite a few Jeff fans there, too But, uh, let's temper this. We've, you know, this is where, this is where they made a time thing. We got Dallas coming up. We should win this one too. They don't have a quarterback. Let's beat up on these teams that have shitty quarterbacks and you know, Jake: take it because then we have, because we have, we have one game where then we Justin: got, then we got the murderer's row. Last quick thing before we move on to like the pick him and yeah yes like that. So Fitz hit his incentive or this condition in the trade. So in our trade we traded the Texans a seventh and there was a condition in the trade that said if Fitz were to play in 70% of the team's snaps. The pick would go to like a sixth. So it's going to be a sixth instead of a seventh. I don't know how you can calculate that now, because what if he gets injured on the first play and then. Might be seasoned. Yeah, but then all of a sudden we have like three overtime games and there's like, I don't know fucking hundred snaps I don't know how you calculate this early, but whatever the conditions been met So we are uh, oh we're giving up a um A fifth now. So next year we're giving up a fifth instead of can we just Jake: Six this might seem blasphemy. Can we just give up? Sorry Sixth instead of seven well two things we didn't talk about one Devin Smith out for the year, so that's the injury Whatever he's been underwhelming and But yeah, can we just give up our second because I was I shot you a text and I was I showed you the last 10 years or whatever I went back through year after year trying to find good second round Justin: Yeah, it was good. No, he's very good, but it's still like Jake: Yeah, I mean I did let's see Smith Amaro Geno Smith That's the last three years. Then you have Stephen Hill, so that just makes it like... That lasts four years, you're like, oh. Then you're DeCasse.
42:00 Jake: And then 2007, you have Theatres. In there you also had Clemens. Justin: Well, Clemens is still in the league. Jake: Yep. Justin: Come on, Jesus Christ. Jake: So is DeCasse. Justin: I don't know if he's still in the league or not. Jake: He's somewhere. Justin: some backup saying when was when was Clemens drafted I think it was 2006 so he's been a league now for nine years yeah that's actually like 1979 Marc Jake: Gaston oh that's a good one that's a good one all right well let's first talk about the Jet Kingdom fantasy league Justin: You know you are out. I feel like I'm in this consolation thing cuz I have a match. Yes If you're make me lose because I pretty sure my quarterbacks, Marietta And we played against him last week, so I should lose whoever's playing me like oh, you literally didn't even do your lineup Jake: You're dick anyway having the playoffs Justin: You are a loser. So I'm just losing. Jake: But, so you know this is a two week playoff thing. We do two weeks and two weeks. So in the first week it's me against Ramon. And for the first week we went 94-94. So it's really up to this week. Wow, that's crazy. Isn't that crazy? That's cray. That's shit cray. And Gareth. Jack brothers grim brothers Dobson. Yeah are up against each other Gareth took a little lead with 83 to 63 Justin: So he's gonna be feeling pretty good about yeah, so Jake: We'll see I probably actually wants to like win cuz I just it'd be funny. This weekend Justin: Yeah, when all is said and done and we have a finals. I wouldn't mind like a News letters he did someone out this week. Yeah, I wouldn't mind. Oh, yeah once the final the yeah Gareth get on that You know the Super Bowl is set. I wouldn't mind. Oh, yes. Yes recap Jake: Alright, so let's get to the pick them where I have overtaken you know you have yes. I have well We're tired. Well. No, I'm fourth and you're six because I have tiebreakers over you But I'm fourth some and my and no you're not you're six No I have better tiebreakers. I'll fuck off. Anyway, I'm only six out from the top, although that's going to be a lot to make up, but I could have a good week. And I won last week. I had the top. Good for you, man. Oh, picks. Justin: I told you 12. That's awesome. I went to Vegas. Jake: I should have been to Vegas. Let's do the pick on that. Wait, wait, hold on. I'm trying to see if anybody's done better than 12. Yeah, the best weeks was 14. That's insane. This guy, Haylix, got 14. Good for you. 14. And then, in week two, the Jawbreakers got 12. 12's good. it. 12's really solid. If you hit a 12, you're in it to win it. Justin: Well, we got the 16 game situation going on right now. So 12's really good. Yep. I think 10 in betters is pretty good at this point. Oh, yeah. You want a 10. All right. So we're going to make our picks. We're going to make our picks. Yes. Against the spread. Yes. We leave the AFC East out of it because we will pick those later. We'll pick scores for those.
45:00 Justin: So we'll start with Thursday night. That's tonight. recording this on a Thursday. I'm almost just taping, but who tapes anything? Jake: No one tapes anything anymore. Justin: Alright, so we got, um, shitty game. By the way, what happened? All of a sudden, Thursday nights are no longer division games. Did they just run out of that? Or what's the deal? I don't know. They're saving that for like the last two weeks? Jake: Yes, because think about it. Think that's what it is because now the last two weeks are all divisions last two and this is the last Thursday night I think only next week has a Thursday because now they start the Saturday. There's a Saturday this week Justin: Which does Saturday this week, but it's Thursday night football, right? But there's a Thursday night and a Saturday night So there's no Thursday next week. I don't think there's a next week. It doesn't matter I mean something I can obviously look up well, I can look it up in two seconds Yes, right here in front of us on this on this pick them Jake: Yeah, there's Thursday next week. Oh, there's San Diego next week. Oh, well, Jesus. Oakland San Diego is better than st. Louis Tampa Bay Justin: I saw a division game. Oh, so st. Louis is home. They're hosting Tampa their favorite by one and a half St. Louis, I don't know. I'll just take the home team st. Louis just because of it Jake: Thursday travel bullshit. No, I actually think Tampa Bay has talent on their team where I do not think other than girly Justin: I'm excited to watch this game. I I haven't seen Winston I really play and that's right I want to see what he can do because I thought he was gonna be terrible it turns out he's like half He's half decent. Yeah, and I want to see some girlie girlie Jake: I want to see what he's about. I just don't understand if you know that this other team has no talent on them, but one player how They just can't just shut it down. Alright, so I said 10 plays is gonna win. Justin: Let's move to Sunday. Good for you. Indy is hosting Houston Off still. This must be luck, cause he's practicing. But I don't think he's supposed to play. Since it's off. This is a huge game by the way. How is this this week and not next week or the week after? I'll take Houston. I just can't see Hasselback scoring against Houston. Oh, and also isn't Houston's quarterback hurt? Yes. This might be a shit show. Yes. This might be like three nothing. Yes. I'll take Houston. I'll take Houston as well. JJ Watt. He's gonna score a touchdown. He might have. He'll be the only guy who scored a touchdown. All right. Another division game. Minnesota's hosting Chicago, Minnesota. Giving five and a half Coming off a Thursday game. So a little extra rest where they played pretty well, but totally blew it Like they played in Arizona and just blew it should have tied the game at the end and should have went to overtime and just Just stupidity took over. And for that reason, I'm out. I will take the five and a half points and I'll pick Chicago.
48:00 Jake: Really? Yeah. I feel like there's not much of a hangover on that game. Chicago's not a very good team. I like them going, I like Minnesota at home. No, no, I just think they're gonna do better. So I think Minnesota will win. Justin: uh carolina comes to new york to play the giants and they're favored by five to me that's disrespectful to who carolina yeah this is a 13 and o team coming in to play new york and the giant stinco But those goddamn Giants play these games these they live for this yes, they live for this that's right Which is why I'm picking them and the five points. I think they'll just lose by three I think yeah, I picked I picked the Giants as well fun game Norman versus Odell Beckham. Yes, funny shit Jake: Oh should have been Rebus versus Odell Beckham, but didn't happen. I mean Justin: It's gonna be a good one Jake: I think the Giants will keep it closer than that. I also don't think I'm not a believer in Carolina. Like I am. I do not. Oh boy, they are good. They are just really good. I feel like it's a lot of like it's I just don't think it's like a power. They just are a lot of points. Yeah, and they're like two drops away from not winning some games. Yeah, I just don't I don't like it Justin: I just read you their score totals now in the last like couple weeks against who though? Let's see first of all they beat Atlanta 38. Nothing. That is terrible 38. Nothing. We just beat someone 30 to Jake: And we could have scored two more times in that quarter if we want it 41 on New Orleans fine terrible Justin: thirty-three on Dallas. Terrible. Four on Washington. Terrible. Twenty-seven against Tennessee. Thirty-seven on Green Bay. It's dropped thirty-seven on Green Bay a lot. Yeah. They scored twenty-nine against Zandy. Twenty-seven against, I mean, they haven't scored less than twenty-seven points in... Jake: Since the first week of the season this will be high score a lot of points But as we know the Giants kind of just can score this is how they do They just they they play play play or they'll back on 80 yards weird play weird team. I should say all right Justin: Let's move along Jacksonville who I really like I like Jacksonville. I'm going on record now Jacksonville is winning that division next year. Okay Bortles pretty good Yes. Jake: Yes. Justin: It was... quarterback picked last year. So let's say
51:01 Justin: Bortles Bridgewater, okay Marriota, mm-hmm Pick one. Who do you want to start your team with? Jake: A little hard because two of them have had a whole year, so you've kind of seen more about them and seen if they're good or not. So I think at this point, I don't know. I mean, Mario would have looked terrible. But I've seen him play good games. Winston and I have never seen him play a lot. I saw some of this college stuff a little bit, but... I don't know. I think you have to go portals. I think I agree. I don't think it's Bridgewater Bridgewater's not asked to do a lot He's not asked to do a lot. He's not very and he's got and he's got Peterson back there and that changes the way every team is that good Justin: Bortles has all the physical stuff. Yeah, great arm can run And he's kind of putting it together. Jake: And he's taking these kind of like what I would consider went on a shit team Justin: and he's actually starting to make them better. And then they're all growing together. Jake: Right. And the receivers, while they're doing well, I think that's a lot to have him. They're not people who you're like, oh, you got to. Those are some top ten. I got some good receivers. Yeah. But I think he's making them better than they are. And they're making him better. Which is the way it's supposed to work. Right. Fitzpatrick is better than this year because he has talent around him. Sorry for that rat hole guys. It's okay. Justin: But it was a fun discussion. He threw in Gino Smith and Big Heart. Yeah, I was going to throw him in there. Kansas City goes to Baltimore. Kansas City is favored by 7. And it's time for Justin to start picking with his head. His head's picking Baltimore. Jake: Oh, Baltimore is the... They're the pits. I will pick Kansas City. Justin: Green Bay's going to Oakland. Green Bay's favored by three. By the way, this is four o'clock. Mind you, one, two, three, four, five, four o'clock games. Command Center is in. U.N.F.L. We got a Saturday night, we got a Thursday night, we got... Jake: Four five five late games specifically because I have to go to a birthday party on Sunday more Sunday afternoon morning So am I gonna miss like the first half of the one o'clock? So I'm just happy there's a lot of four o'clock center. All right, I know it's a good four o'clock like that That's a good Denver one. It's Justin: This one not good, but I'll take Green Bay Jake: Definitely take green bay. Justin: Seattle is hosting Cleveland. Seattle's favored by 14 and a half. And it doesn't even scare me that they lost Rawls. It doesn't even scare me that there's 14 and a half points hanging there. I just can't see how Cleveland's gonna even score any points And Russell Wilson's been the hottest quarterback in the league for a month. So I'll take Seattle cannot take I cannot go against 14 half points I'm taking that I cannot do it
54:00 Justin: A good game Pittsburgh's hosting Denver Pittsburgh's favored by six. This is another one where I'm gonna go with the heart Please Denver, please you're kind of our last hope I'm gonna be I'm gonna be one Jake: I'll be one Justin: OB1? Jake: Oh my god, you just said that live. I can't wait till everybody- OB1? OB1? You're our only hope? Justin: No, I'm not a fucking geek like you. Um. Jake: You mean like the entire world, okay. Justin: No, I mean, you know what I- you know what I geek out over? Fucking football, like a man. Jake: Yeah, so putting your penis inside of a football. That's all I do. Okay. Fuck footballs. Justin: I'm like a man football fucker. You are give me Denver and the six Jake: I'm gonna win out right I think Pittsburgh at home. This is a really good one. This is actually I'm gonna switch I'm taking cuz I think Denver's got the good D. Do they can actually get to cover too? Yeah, they can cover Justin: I'll take man's been on fire again. I want to know who's been on fire against Who they've been against matter. It does matter Yards, it's unreal. I'll take Denver. Alright, uh Sincey goes to San Fran since he's favored by four and a half Forgot about the backup quarterback, but then again San Francisco is also playing a backup quarterback named Lane Gabbard I just think since he's like a better team. So I'm going to take Stincie and lay the four and a half, which I don't know if Jake: it's very smart. No, but I'm going to do it. I'm taking San Francisco. Blaine Gabbard is terrible, but he's playing, playing okay. They'll play fine at home. Justin: Here's our flexed Sunday night game, which is why we have five, four o'clock. Cause one of the, um, four o'clock games. was the was the night game. Okay. So and I think it was like a West Coast. It's like I think it was the San Diego Miami game, which got flexed out, I think, which has to happen at four because it's in San Diego. All right. So... Arizona is in Philly. Arizona is favored by three and a half. Jake: That seems disrespectful. It does, doesn't it? Doesn't it? Yeah, to Arizona, totally. Yeah, I got Arizona. Philly's six and seven. I mean, they should card them. Justin: Against eleven and two. They should score at least 35 points in this match. Why is this only three and a half points? Philly home? I can't tell you that defense is so fucking terrible. I can't imagine why. I mean, they did beat the Pats. I really don't know. I don't know. Arizona had trouble. But they played Thursday. They had like, you know, a little extra... A little five week here. I don't get it. Arizona. Jake: I actually have Philly picked here. I'm gonna leave it. Although I think it's wrong. I'm gonna leave it anyway. You've just said how this shit goes. I know. I know. Justin: And then Monday night we have a shit show. We have, again, it really doesn't matter. Jake: This is called the fantasy football game because only people paying attention to this are people in fantasy football.
57:01 Justin: They have fantasy playoffs. New Orleans is hosting Detroit. New Orleans is favored by the standard three. I'll take Detroit. Jake: I'll take New Orleans at home. Justin: Alright, so those are our pickums. Let's get to the AFC East. So we'll start it off even though the AFC starts on a Saturday this week That'll be us and we leave ours for last why don't we start with Tennessee who Continues their gauntlet through the AFC East by going to New England nothing like Getting your ass smacked and then going right to New England. Jake: To a better team. Watch them smack you some more. Justin: So New England is favored by 14 in case you were wondering. We were able to very easily put 27 points on the board against the Tennessee team. So you have to imagine New England is good for at least 7 more. At the half? Fucking A. At the half? Well, you know, they've, you know, Edelman's like practicing, doubt he'll play, but like Gronk's back. Blunt is out. Yes, Blunt is out. It doesn't seem to matter cuz he sucks. Jake: Yeah, but he was just, he was enough to like get them first downs. Justin: Nah, he just sucks. He's just a big... Goofball so It really doesn't seem to matter to me. I will say I'm not gonna go crazy crazy I'm gonna go with a 31 to 10 Jake: Situation so you want 10? I'm gonna go 45 to 9 Okay Patriots. Yeah, I don't think I don't I niner It's a niner. I don't think Penn State's gonna be able to score touchdowns at all. Very hard. And I just think it'll be, you know, for every three and out that we went, Patriots won't do those three and outs, they'll score. So if you think, like, however many drives they have, that's how many points they're gonna put up. I don't think they're gonna punt a lot. I think they're just gonna drive down there and score. And again, it's tough coming off of beating up a butt, I mean, beating up. We really... sacks and we beat them up. They have to go right to New England. That's not, schedule makers not, that's not nice. Not nice. That's not nice. Justin: You think, oh, we'll give them the Jats, whatever. And then they'll go to New England. Jake: Yeah, but go to, if you had Jats at home and then went to New England, but to go to New York and then come back and then go to New England. Hey, it's not breaks, yeah. Justin: All right, so Buffalo and Rexy. All right, going to Washington. After just losing to Philly, yeah, hmm, they lost. So whenever I pick Buffalo games, I just try and think about like the Rex Ryan scheme versus the quarterback of the team that they're playing against. And I'm I'm not certain Kirk Cousins is ready. Jake: That scheme really stops Sam Bradford. Justin: I was gonna say if we did this podcast last week that I had a very definitive opinion that
1:00:06 Justin: Philly was gonna beat Buffalo okay because we can I go back and see if you Jake: actually picked that in your in your in your pick them I guess you could Justin: although it's a spread so I don't know like if that would actually help her show I guess we'll see But whatever. I did pick Philly, by the way. So because I recall like. Rex having trouble with gimmicky things. He's very good at stopping like very straightforward offenses, but gimmicky, quick. He always had trouble with like quick hitting things. Right. He relies a lot on substitutions and. confusion but if it's quick you can't confuse because you don't have the time to do that stuff I think he does have the time to do that to Kirk Cousins while I don't see this being a very high scoring game I do see the Bills squeezing this Jake: out 17-13 yeah I don't I think I mean when we played Washington I thought their defense although I don't know how it's been recently but I thought their defense was no it's bad was it bad when we played them Justin: scored like 38. Jake: Alright. Well, I don't know. I feel like I just feel like Washington's going to. They're still in the fight. I don't know where Buffalo is. There's only talk of maybe Rex Ryan's a one and done coach like I don't know where is Buffalo now. Justin: I would Buffalo ever have one and done like they should not have that expectation. Jake: Oh, it's because they it's of being good. It's the talent thing. Yeah, I know so I actually have Washington win this 27 23 Justin: All right on to Miami Miami's going to San Diego All right, happy to be out of their own house About that Jake: Did they win last week? Nope they lost against the Giants Monday night. I fell asleep It was like it was close that kept it close. Yeah 17 17 or something Justin: Right tried and I just couldn't on drugs Just couldn't stay awake. So Miami, San Diego, San Diego is fucking terrible terrible terrible Miami's pretty fucking bad too, but they're not as bad as San Diego Um, I feel like both of these teams are gonna score some points here. So I'm gonna go 3124 Miami. Okay. Yeah, I 31 is a lot for Miami, but I'm gonna go 3120 Jake: I don't think this is two teams that are not Like they're kind of in the wow if we only just put if we just play three more games We can get out of here so I can actually see this below, but I don't think it will be I think it'll be 2720 Miami I think I think my miss gonna win doesn't have any playoff anything for them I think they're officially officially out or they're 99.9 percent out something like that. Yeah
1:03:07 Justin: you know we have a 25% chance of getting in according to the thing yeah it's like Jake: what 25% 85 we could we could win out and so yeah all right let's talk about Justin: the game of the millennial was a Jerry world so our first trip to Jerry world right Jake: No, no, I think we played down there a couple of years ago. Is that possible? No. Justin: Well, the last time we would have played Dallas in Dallas would have been eight years ago. Jake: I think we played them on, it wasn't eight years ago, was it? Justin: That would be the last time that we would have played in Dallas, no? Don't they flip like... Who hosts and whatnot when you do the division stuff? Jake: I'm looking it up. I'm looking up history. I Think I feel like we were down there, but maybe it wasn't in Jerry world I remember that Thanksgiving game and that seems like a long long time ago. I guess take a look 2011 we got and then 2007 Texas Stadium great we've never been Jerry world thank you oh we all that that was that game the last time we played them was 9-11 it was the Reavis pick at the end the game to win I remember that I was there 9-11 it was the big 9-11 thing amazing yep Justin: uh... Jake: he had a long time for des brian and the last time we played their in texas it was thirty four three that was a thanksgiving game thirty that was a such as game yeah now pressure was no oh god is a kellin clemens game like Justin: can't you just No shit, I do not know that in 2007 it couldn't have been a such as oh, I had a feeling as a such as game Jake: But Helen Clements Helen Clements Oh Justin: Alright so Dallas is decimated right they don't have offense type of talent because they don't have a quarterback They do have a line, you know, their offensive line is good. They have Des Brian who they don't throw the ball to anymore because most teams are just like you know this guy can't throw if we just sort of double Des because he's got nowhere to go with the ball. They still have Witten fine. That little pain in the ass. Beasley will be a little pain in the ass underneath but he doesn't do much to beat you deep. The key is really just stopping their run and we can do that. We do that on the regular to most teams. So if we just make sure that they make Matt Castle throw the ball 35-40 times, you're going to probably win that game. So that would be my key here is to just stop the run off the bat and
1:06:03 Justin: And be able to stop it with like the front seven. Like don't have to like stack the box to stop this run. Right. Really just shut it down with the normal situation or even with the nickel with with Buster in there. I think Calvin Prior will be a big part of that defensive game plan. I think he's very good. Jake: I think he's one of the little steals that we were kind of looking back at going. Coming around. Coming around. Justin: Only second year player. He just... Not a good fit last no, he wasn't they were asking why he played free safety not strong safety much better fit with Gil crest This year. That's a really nice combination. They're both pretty good. They both get tacklers They can both cover prior has really shown me something this year Dallas again, nothing really to worry about from Mack Castle perspective and Their defense doesn't really scare me. I mean they're you know, they're They're the kind of defense that I think just gets tired. I think they start games really well, so don't be surprised if we don't just from the starting gun like boom, boom, boom, we're going down the field. I think their defensive line gets really pumped and like, you know, shuts run game down early, might get a sack or two early, but I think they just tire out. I've seen it's cuz they're on the field too much. So it's like that Thing like I've watched enough Cowboys games. They're on TV constantly where I've seen like Oh this defense looks pretty good And then by the time you get to like the mid end of the third quarter fourth quarter Just touchdown touchdown Touchdown or whatever like they just can't hang for that long You know, they do have Greg Hardy on the line. You have to be careful. He's very good. Yes. Strongly is a very good, very good sideline to sideline linebacker. So you got to be careful there. But overall, they don't scare me all that much. My final score here is 2310, which is a pretty good win. I don't really see a scoring more than that. But I also can't really see the Cowboys scoring more than. One touchdown on us. Jake: I think we're gonna have some defensive scoring in this game. Justin: That'd be cool. I think we're gonna get there. That'd be cool, like a pick six situation. Jake: We watched the game last week and we had many chances to pick him off more than we did. Crow dropped one, we might have dropped two. I feel like Matt Castle... Put him in a, you know, where he's going to go with the ball is going to be very obvious. I feel like it's going to be a read. It's going to be a pick. I could see a pick six. A lot of short throws, I feel. I'd like to see, you know, I feel like I feel like I've always been playing better, but I feel like we haven't seen any of his like that first four games where he was just like Justin: He hit 100 yards. Jake: dominant yeah he did but he had like
1:09:00 Jake: There's like just a hundred and it took the whole game. Like, I don't know. I feel like he's had games where he just dominates. I'd love to see him come back and just dominate a team. So I don't know. I feel like this is... Justin: I don't know how I feel about that statement. Jake: Yeah. If you look at the one before that, his game log, it's not good up until... I mean, it starts off really well. Justin: I know that. I know we started the season. Jake: Oh, there's game log. Justin: I'm looking right now. Go look. Don't mind. I'm going to look right now. Although this fucking website is shitting on me right now. Jake: Is that painful or is that good? Justin: website. Which one are you on? I'm just on Yahoo because that's where our pick went. Alright, let's see. Started off this year. Jake: 91 yards, 57 out, 166, 146, 41, 17, 26, 99, 36, 87, 47, 101. What's his total? 914. Pretty good. Yeah, he said two games three games over a hundred Justin: He's always a backup he was never like the main dude Jake: This would be 914 is his best season ever His best season before that was last year at 821 or not sorry two years before 833 and last year at 821 So he's having a best season. His average is good. What is it? 4.2. That's very good. Better than last year. Although two years ago it was 4.6. And here before that it was 5.4 but it was a small sample size. He's doing good. So I just feel like this is a game that I think he could get going. I think, you know, the Cowboys Stadium is going to be loud. It's going to be whatever. So use him. Use him. Lean on him, lean on the running game. That's the way I'd like to see them win this game with defense and him. You know, obviously the turnover thing is just too obvious to even say. And also I've been impressed with this. They did some switch up on the stressful teams, on the coverage unit, and they've been better. Last week they were really, they were shutting them down. Like I couldn't go anywhere. Justin: Yeah, who knows who that guy was. Jake: Yeah, well that's fine. That's what you need to do. Can't let these guys bring it back. So I think Jets will win. Looking forward to the game Saturday night. I love having just like, it's my own personal present like on Saturday night. I just get to sit and watch like personal, like my own game, like nothing else around. It's before the other games. I think 32, 13. I think they're, I think. The defense is gonna score some. I can even see maybe it's, oh, you're not gonna run much back if you don't have anybody do that. Now we'll put in, so we have Devin Smith out. I don't think there's many more injuries. Curly's banged up. Who's gonna return? Justin: They can put in kicks or punts. Jake: Kicks. Justin: What Crowe's been doing here. I don't like it. I don't like having crow do it. I mean, I think he's good at it. He is. I don't want him doing it. No
1:12:02 Justin: I don't actually think we have to worry about that this week their kicker Indoors like bailey. He's just gonna put it through every time. There's no returning. Okay, we don't have to worry about that this week. I know um I mean I would I would like to see if there's just at this point They know if they have like a guy who can do this or not and clearly they don't So last week when curly got hurt they sent Decker out there to just you know, he took a couple Please don't he did a goddamn ball and just stand there do what curly does like just don't Even try to run the ball. Jake: So guess who's back on the team? Well, who's going to lean on is Kendall Tompkins or say he's going to get more snaps. Justin: Because Devin Smith. Yeah. That's fine. He's fine. Whatever. I mean, it's Decker. It's Marshall. It's Anunwa. That's it. That's their like. three and then when they go to four wide or B Tompkins and that's how far Curly's really fallen that he doesn't even get in the game No on offense. It's crazy. You were asking me like what I thought If Amaro didn't get hurt like would he be playing? Jake: Because we were talking about how the tight end just doesn't even is that because of talent is that because of a situation or scheme? Justin: But I went and look back at you know Chang Jie with you know with Buffalo and You know Scott Chandler had some of his best seasons, and it was like oh well Maybe they're just running something a little different or whatever. They're clearly spreading it out. Right. A lot of shock and stuff. A lot of spread. A lot of four wides, three wides. We played the most four wide receiver by far. More than like the Patriots, even. That's because they have grown who can kind of act as a wide receiver. But. Don't know I asked me and I I Kind of gave you a punt of an answer where I said, you know I think a noon was just kind of like the perfect tweener of Size and but he's technically receiver. He's kind of playing tight end. Yeah, I think it's I don't think that Jake: What is that? That's a phone? What do you know? No way? Oh my god. Here we go. Turn it off I don't know why it's on. I never have my thing off Am I thing on anywhere and some Jacksonville maybe they're calling to we doing turning it off. No, I think I just did that Yeah, I just I think actually tomorrow would be getting more usage don't know I think you would not sure he's good You know, I agree I'm not like not 100% bought in I did watch him drop balls that way like basically hit him in the face I did Yes, but I also mean he had some nice catches last year, had some touchdowns. I think he would be more in the game plan if he were back.
1:15:00 Jake: And he'll be back next year. We'll see next year. We'll see. Alright, well we'll also see next week, although we- How long was this fucker? Well, it's almost an hour and fifteen minutes. There you go, bitches. Because you don't get one next week, or maybe you do. Justin: Maybe? I feel like they should get one next year. Jake: Alright, we'll see. Are you gonna be off the jugs at that point? Are you gonna be- Justin: Yeah leading in the Patriots. Am I gonna be off the drugs? I would hope so. Okay. All right. We'll be off the drugs We'll be back next week. Maybe Better on the drugs. No, you're definitely not better on the drugs. It's a Jake: Justin and Jake saying as always go check Hi. I'm first talk to to to to to You
