20 Jake: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast! The longest running New York Jets podcast. Ever. I'm Jake joining me 300th time in a row Justin Justin I do I'm awesome So we did hold out first of all on the 300 we had we could have gone back and had some You know done some talkity talk, but we figured what a better time to start 2018 Jets Training Camp, which is starting tomorrow, yes? Justin: Or is it? It is starting tomorrow, Tuesday, the 24th. Jake: Right! But why that started off with our 300th episode, congratulations, it's a massive accomplishment. We made it! I think it's also our, what we figured out, it's our 12th year. Justin: No, I think it's 11th. Jake: No, because we're heading into our 19th year. Our 19th season. 19th year, huh? No, we're heading into, we started 2007. Justin: I think we did this 07-08 season. Right. This would be the 18-19 season. Let's head into our 11th season. Jake: 11th season, 300 podcasts. That does mean that's not a lot of podcasts a year. Just saying. Justin: Well, I mean, it's a seasonal podcast. We're not gonna. do this every day. We're also not going to do it like, you know, every week, all year long. Yes. There's not enough to talk about. Certainly there is. The Jets and the NFL are all time. They're not, though. This past six weeks have been like the lull of the NFL season. Jake: It's actually been really nice because sometimes this is like when Sheldon and Richardson gets caught. Going down, you know with an un with a minor with a handgun at 150 miles an hour So like that kind of shit will happen. Well, that's why I'm liking this offseason cuz it's like nothing I mean a couple of useless dudes Justin: We also had a possible suspension our team our dairy Stewart. Yeah, maybe with a diuretic Yeah, I had a diuretic this morning I Which I just I just want to talk about for two seconds. Jake: Okay, and then we'll talk about the Jets and what we're looking forward to and the games and the preseason and all the good stuff that's coming up. Alright, so you want to talk stance on taking the knee?
01 Jake: Yes. So here's the thing. It's back. No, the NFL has reverted it. I know. And you know why? Tell me. Because the dolphin, so here's what happened. The NFL in all its stupidity decided to put out this thing about, you know, you will be punished, but we won't tell you what the teams can figure out the punishment. So some teams, like the Jets, said if there's any fines or anything, we will pay your fines. We do not think this is a valid thing. Justin: Jets ownership will take care of it. Plus one for Jets ownership. Plus one for not Woody Johnson. Right. Jake: Then some teams went the opposite way, the Dolphins. The Dolphins said, we could suspend you for up to four games for violating this policy. But at that point, the NFL went, oh shit. Oh shit. We are in a lot of trouble if individual teams start suspending players. For fucking taking the knee or not taking or not whatever. Justin: For something that another team is not doing the same thing for. Right. And you can't- It creates a competitive imbalance. And all the- he gets- the dolphins want to tag. They're like, I saw him, he winked! He winked! He winked! No, no, no, he winked! Jake: He fell! He fell! He fell! He didn't put his hand over his heart! That's not your heart! He said, fuck you! They just make shit up! Justin: And they'd be like, we're gonna tank this. He's, oh, Tanhil, you're out for four weeks. Trust the, he didn't sing the right lyrics so this is this is rescinded so then so then Jake: then NFLPA. That one said, well they were gonna say, well no, we're gonna fucking fight you on this, This is bullshit. So, the NFL, in some of their wisdom, you know, they gained some wisdom after this, everybody said that this dumbest idea, I said, okay, we're not going to go through with this. Clearly, let's pull it back. We'll workshop it and we'll figure out what we want to do. And then, of course... POTUS has to come in and give his advice. It's great advice. Justin: Don't you have enough on your play? One game suspension for the first offense. Full season for the second offense. And whatever the third, death? I'm just saying, I think the NFL should adopt this and then put out a memo to all teams. Everybody kneel game one. Yeah. We won't have a week two. That's what POTUS wanted. Yeah. And in week three, everybody kneel again. And we just won't have a season. Let's see how POTUS does from there. Let's just do it. Fuck him. I mean, first of all... Do it. You would give up an entire season of football? Well, that's the fun part. It wouldn't happen. Oh, okay. That's the fun of it. The fun of it is sort of he's fucking with you so fucked on him like fuck back with him How about just ignore how it just here's the best when someone when someone so fun who doesn't know what the fuck they're doing Jake: Is talking about the thing that you know what you're doing about here's what you do. Just ignore them
04 Jake: paycheck and ROGER GEDEL ROGER GEDEL doesn't know anything so what do we do with him? I'm a very very smart man, and I believe R.I. believe he is not doing very well. I think he's probably one of the toughest jobs Justin: Again, you just pay a shit ton of money to do it, but it's a tough job. You have 31 bosses. Jake: I don't think he's done a great job. In what way? I mean, player safety. Me and my players safety, where baseball players take three months to come back from concussions You think that that's Roger Goodell? and the the with the NFL games on Sunday on Thursday night. No, that's not about safety. It is about safety. Right. But ask the people who they're happy because they're making millions. Justin: Good for those individuals. That's what they want. Good for them. Jake: So until you pay the people they a Like, that, that's the point. So for their standpoint, it's been good. I think what's weird is, from a financial standpoint, the NFL's doing great. But there's this niggling thing of this viewership thing, and the viewership being down, and I think it's freaking everybody the fuck out. And I think they just don't get it. It's like, you know, there's only so many human beings in America to watch your game. Saturation. Yeah! and too much. So anyway, plus you have a a lot of competition in the TV world so I get it that you think that sports is competing with sports but sports is also competing with Netflix and HBO and elections and when World Cup is in four years when it's in November guess who's going to be competing with World Cup? The NFL. And so it'll be there'll be NFL competing with World Cup and that'll be interesting. Anywho, Justin: I mean on the World Cup. France won. I mean on the World Cup in that year. Did you see Jake: with Trevor Noah his comment about it? No. He's like congratulations to the Justin: Africans. Winning the World Cup. A lot of African French men. Oh no. Then they wrote a letter. Jake: The like ambassador to France and just was it started this whole war between the two of them. He's obviously African and he's like listen.
03 Jake: You can't deny the fact that they're from Africa. Thanks for watching! It's like, yeah, we do. We acknowledge the fact that you are from a different country. Now how you got here, we don't want to talk about that. We're not. We're not going to talk about that. No. But we do acknowledge the fact that you're not from here, but you are from here. You're an American from another country. You're called African American, Italian American, Cuban American, South American. Wait, no. That's not a... Justin: That's not a... Jake: Put up walls and stuff. How did this podcast get so fucking political? How many listeners do we just lose in the first four minutes? Justin: We lost them all. Let's talk about the jets. We opened this week. Jake: I told my friend, took a picture with Sam Darnold. How cool was that? That was pretty cool. That was pretty cool. I like that. Literally text me, I wake up in the morning, he's in California, I pick up the morning, he's like, and I see this text. and it's my friend for many many many years now literally hand over Darnold and they're standing in some like I think chicken wings or whatever it was a Wild Wild West or whatever and he's a dolphin stand so I don't hurt him he can see him just kick his knee he said he was a cool guy really really nice so I'm super psyched So let's talk about training camp. Let's do what we want. Let's see what we're looking to see. Yeah, what positions were Where's the fight? Quarterback. Oh, I was gonna go running back. Quarterback. Quarterback. Quarterback So I think with the Jamis Winston suspension and the Jaguars just with this loaded fucking team But a shit quote QB. I think one really good game at a Teddy Justin: One really good to and we could just name our price. The Jags are not gonna do that. The Jags unless Bortles gets hurt I don't see them. I don't see them moving on from him. They're so stupid. I don't see it. They're gonna be in the Cincinnati hell. Whereas they're gonna do well enough to get there but they'll never go anywhere. Yeah but they've already surpassed anything that Cincinnati's done in the last 15 years. But he made the AFC championship game. Jake: But he's worse, but he's worse. But they made the AFC championship game. He played out of his mind. He pulled the golden goose out of his mind. Justin: But he still made the AFC championship game. It doesn't mean he's bad though either. No it doesn't. It doesn't. Because every one of his other games is bad. Well he just played an entire season where he led his team to the AFC championship game. Well you can't just be like, oh he sucks. No, his number... This is the Sanchez story. You know what? He is Sanchez. Great! Then you can win! Not the Super Bowl! Well you can win! Not the Super Bowl! Only one team wins the Super Bowl. No, he didn't. And guess who won? A backup quarterback named Nick Foles who couldn't make it as a starter in the league. Jake: That Super Bowl will never ever happen again. It ended up there wasn't a second for the fourth quarter. Justin: Dude, you can't just go with it like it happened, by the way. And the team that you're talking about that needs a quarterback has a young one that they drafted.
00 Justin: Third overall, that is brought them to the AFC Championship game. They're not going to just throw him out. If they were going to do that, they would have done it already. They resigned him. They're stupid. Then then they're stupid, but they're not doing the whole trade for Teddy thing so you can get them out of your mind. Oh, dude, please. Get him out, get them out of your mind. That's not happening. What about the Bucks? Perfectly good. Three game expansion. Maybe if they think they have a shot in that division, which I don't think they do. Well, every team thinks they have a shot. That's a tough one. They've got Atlanta and New Orleans and Carolina who are all better than them. And that's like, are we really ready to go? We're not really ready to win right now. OK, like if I was looking at it, I'd be like, yeah, you're not ready to win right now. You can move it on from him there. You can take your little three game suspension with Winston and just deal with it. I mean, if I were the Colts, I would come a call in. I'd be like, hey, we've got our quarterback. Maybe, maybe. So like maybe Bridgewater is a better option for them certainly then whoever that brisket Don't say the damn Toby brisket cats gonna come flying over here. I think he's subdued Jake: There's a cat behind me on his back belly up like legs out Justin: Splite out nine hundred reason here ballless legs No, it's got no balls nothing. Yeah, it's got a penis though. That's seen it Do not know this information Jake: And we just lost the other for it people listening cat cock. All right, let's talk about training camp quarterback Why don't we work our way to quarterback? All right start with quarterback. What are positions that you? Let's name the top three positions that you that you're not interested in any competition. It's like I don't even care. Like I just know who the players are going to be. Justin: The secondary. Okay. I think this well, I don't know who like will be the nickel guy, but the starting in a base defense, it will be Claiborne Johnson, May Adams. Pretty much. Claiborne will be on the, is the number two. Johnson will be on his island. Then you've got May and Adams. There's nothing. We didn't even talk about Rebus retiring. Has it officially had, did he sign the one day contract because he's doing that? He's he signed with the Jets? Yeah. Is he? Yeah, so that he can retire a Yeah, then he'll go into Canton as a chat That'd be well if he goes with the cat so first ballot no doubt really he's like the best corner I've ever seen Jake: Yeah, it doesn't mean anything. I don't know if he I think he won a Super Bowl Justin: He played it right you can argue as a jet fan that he was an ass But if anybody played the system right ever It's him he got paid every damn season throughout me this And fine, he's got to do what he's got to do. Fine.
04 Justin: Won his ring, did his thing, played for the Jets twice. When he was... fuck. When he was on like those early Rex years, even the late Mangini years. Basically every year after his rookie season. He was locked down, shut down, nobody's throwing near him. And if they do, it's knocked away or picked. Jake: He just wasn't a big, like, he wasn't a splashy guy. He was so good that he was avoided. I mean, some quarterback could say. Justin: He impacted the game so much. They would just avoid him. Like, oh fuck, I can't look to my right today. Guess I'll go over the middle or to the left, because that third of the field is done. Is done. And he was a great tackler. Not late in his career, because he didn't try. But when he did, damn, did he get in there and stop the run? Jake: If the Packers fans can get over, what? Barbed into them over Revas. Justin: Revas is going to go into our into our circle of whatever the fuck we call it. Ring of Honor. He's going into the Hall of Fame first bout five years from now. We will go to Canton and see him. Oh, I see him enshrined. Hopefully they'll play it. They'll play the desk last time was there was for Curtis and they didn't play it. Yeah, hopefully the Jets will play. Jake: Yeah, they don't always do that. Who knows? Yeah. All right. So we've just retired. That happened. Justin: That happened. And yeah, I'm not worried about the secondary whatsoever. I also don't feel like I feel like the defense is fairly straightforward. Like you're going to have Darren Lee, you're going to have Gabi Simon, Williams, Williamson. Yep. Him Jenkins. Those will be three of the four linebackers. There will be another one. Whoever that happens to be in the line will be the line. It'll be McClendon, Williams and either Penelle or another one of the younger guys that we drafted in the last year or two, and that'll be that. Maybe one of the guys we drafted this year. So the defense, I think, is fairly straightforward. I agree. The offense is kind of tricky with the position players. No, I think we got I think we have our punner. Think he's gonna be like one of the better punters a little bit more consistent That's what happens when they get a little older So remember you can punt till you're like 40 so you got a lot of time to get good at it Kicking is the same. I don't care who our kicker is. Oh, we have a new kicker. I don't care. It doesn't matter to me offensive line Think we're pretty square away there, too It is what it is. I don't think anyone's really battling for anything now. It's a lot of backup spots. Yeah Running backs interesting receiver is interesting and quarterbacks interesting. All right, let's go down. Let's start there running back Jake: All right, right. I'm acting about it running back Justin: We have four guys who I think could play and it'll be interesting.
02 Jake: See, who do you want to see? Excel, because I feel like there's a cut candidate in there somewhere. Justin: I don't think they're going to be for. Think they'll keep four, although they could if somebody contributes on special teams. Right. Then you can say, all right, that guy's really a special teamer. I mean, I know I've seen with my eyes, Thomas Rawls be better than any of the other guys on the team. But only because you had him on your like, you know. Well, I mean, you see Seattle locks, they play later and they're on like the red zone when only two other games are on. So you see them play. And I've seen Thomas Rawls do some things that are like, whoa, that guy's fast and powerful and strong. Very much like in the mold of Blau Powell. So what I would like to see is like one of those two, Isaiah Cruell be the hammer. Because he's a big, strong dude. And I wouldn't mind seeing Elijah McGuire step up and be more of the Darren Sprozzie type. I wouldn't mind seeing a three-headed monster. It's kind of what I want to see. Three running backs. If someone gets in a groove, you feed them. If not, it kind of goes situationally. Jake: Where is Bob Powell on his contract? He's in the middle of a contract. Justin: Middle? I think he's at the end. Yeah. I think we signed him the same year we signed Forte. I think we signed Forte for... Three and I think Powell for four. Yeah. This would have been Forte's last year. I mean, to me, I'd like to see, I think Powell's the one who's out. Who's like odd man out. Although, I don't know where Rawls is on injuries or... Well, Powell and... Powell has been around for a while. Jake: He's 29. Yeah. The other guys are 24, 25. He's the smallest dude of all of them, meaning in weight size. And I feel like he is the most versatile. He definitely is. And he's always been doing a lot of things. We'd always do the stats of like, when he's on the field, we win the game. When he's off the field, we shit the bed. Justin: So he does a lot of things really well. He runs for short yardage really, really well. Very underrated. But it's always injured, man. He gets he does miss three to four games. for the most part almost every season. Jake: So I'm looking for that just because I'd like to see Justin: McGuire step up. I love that. Me too. I'd like to see him play a lot in the preseason. And have a little competition. Alright, let's see what can happen. Let's talk wide receiver. There are a shit ton of wide receivers. A lot of wide receivers. Some of them we don't need to talk about. We have Andre Roberts. Whatever You have Robbie Anderson, right who does not have a suspension at this point. I don't think so So he's the number one receiver. I believe what? Yes I guess with to a prior not being for I'm not a hundred percent sold that to our power is gonna be on the roster Week one. I think you are crazy. I don't. Tallest guy. He's that tall. What's the difference? I know you like tall, but you didn't do shit last year.
08 Justin: And you played in offensive through for 4,000 yards. Yeah, I don't know. Whatever. I feel like it's... I just don't he tried to play through some of these are number one. That's just terrible. Well, Anunwa is back Yeah, I don't really think of him as that type of player I feel like if you have Anunwa and curse and Robertson and Or sorry Robbie Anderson, Robbie Sorry curse Anunwa Anderson and like Hanson He's so hot right now. I just kept feeling that Prior won't be on the roster. He's gonna do something stupid because he is an idiot. He's gonna have Chiron Peak on the roster. He's not gonna be on the roster either. There's your tall guy that doesn't matter. He's not, he's tall. Yes, he's fucking tall. He's 6'2". Chiron Peak? Yeah. No, reading it. I'm reading it wrong. He's a big dude. Six to he's bigger than a prior six for he's bigger. I'll be Anderson six three. And you stood next to him. He's definitely way bigger. No, no, I don't. I don't believe you. Or is it any guy? He's five I don't believe you. Yeah, well, you can not believe me. You can be wrong. Like I believe you at all. That's bullshit. Anyway, I don't think prior is going to be on a roster. So what are you looking to see out of the wide receivers in training camp? I'm looking to see a healthy Quincy Anunwa. Excited. I just want to see a healthy Anunwa and a healthy Robbie Anderson on the field at the same time, on the same side of the field. That's a hardcover I think. You've got a guy that can do almost anything in Inouneur over the middle, short, deep, down the down the seam, whatever it is. And you got Robbie Anderson, you can just burn you, deep. Jake: I think there's there's like players that seem to be grouped together in very, um, they can do anything guys. And Inouneur and Curse, I think Stewart are kind of like, I feel like they're those three do anything guys. Justin: Well, Stuart's more of a gadget player if you ask me. Yeah. I think that's going to be his deal. This gadget place? Mmm. Yeah. Jake: Alright, big position. Probably the weakest on the team. Definitely the weakest on team is Head End. Justin: I don't even know any of them. Jake: Exactly. I mean, we have Jordan Leggett from last year. Justin: That's where Nuno comes in. Jake: I know, but like we have Chris Herndon from this year. Great. Right. And that's it. The rest of us just like Bucky Hodges. Justin: Didn't we sign the dude from the Raiders? Watford or something like that. Sterling. No, we have Sterling. Thomas and Thomas and Leggett. Walford, Chris. Clyde Walford. Yeah, we signed him from the Raiders. Yeah, Chris Herndon again, I think you're gonna see Quincy and Nuna lined up. I want to see a tight end play
04 Justin: I want to see we have two guys we've drafted in in the next last two years I like yeah But tight ends drafted in the fourth and fifth round are not meant to be like start I just make one of them a star get them out there. They have to actually have talent. They have to play Jake: Alright, that brings us to our number one position of full love and need where there are only Funny I'm sorted by cute I'm sorted by position guess who's not here when I'm on the on the website sorted by position Oh, is that because he hasn't signed? quarterback Justin: can you like let us in on it because you know this is a verbal like audio thing wait what this is an audio thing you have to talk oh it's a talk yeah otherwise nobody knows what you're doing all right I'm on the I'm on the Jake: website I'm sorting by the website like the nearest s.com slash team slash players dash roster I'm sorting by position and in the QB section there's only two Justin: Oh, they're missing Sam. Yeah, he's probably because he hasn't signed. Jake: That's I guess that's I guess that's right. And though, all right. So we have the number one position battle. And we all know what we want to happen. Yet why don't we just say it aloud so we let the Lord and God hear us. The gold and the new. We want Sam week one. Justin: and we want him to win it. We want him to win the job. And we think that they're going to give him every goddamn opportunity. Yeah, I believe that they will do exactly what they did last year. They have to give, he has to, he has to get an 81 on the test. Last year, just to review what they did last year. So during training camp, they split the first team reps. Primarily between McCown and Hackenberg. Hackenberg was deemed a head of Petty at the start of training camp. In week one of the preseason, McCown played the first series composure series. He started. Hackenberg proceeded to play the rest of the first half and Petty finished it off. Game two, Hackenberg started, Petty finished. Game three, Hackenberg started. Petty finished. at that moment. Do you really when you go back over those tape did you see that they were that bad? It was game three of the preseason yeah the Giants defense the Giants who finished worse than the Jets. Yes but at the time it just come off a great defensive year just saying. So yeah but still preseason. Just saying. And just saying they finished fucking terrible. Yes. They won two games. That's a team that won two games. But they also lost their number one player whatever week two.
16 Justin: Who, who? We're really... We're really... We're really... We're really... NVIDIA and and and I want to see him. I want to see him play with the group that he's practicing with first of all, so if he's Practicing with the twos. Let me see him play with the twos I want to see him play with the ones like I want to see him really play with starters at some point I think he'll get that chance and From there what you want to see is just like quickness You want to see because last year a lot of it with takenberg was you know even less sometimes the release and like which way they're looking. So I want to see some plays where he's like looking one way very clearly and then comes back across the field to another side to like really make a full a full read of the field and make a legit throw. I want to see him hook up on a throw that travels more than 20 yards in the air. I want to see him scramble around a little bit. That's what he's supposed to be, a little bit of a playmaker. I want to see him step up through the pocket. And if he has to out and around and make a throw on the run, I want to see him lead the team to scoring drives, not like, you know, 10 plays, 34 yards. And like two penalty aided first downs and a punt like that's not fun I want to see some scoring I see some some like real deals offense They don't see a real deal offense on the field. There's no metric I can't say oh well if they score 48 points with him then that works for me. It's more like
05 Justin: Pass the sniff test, pass the eye test, don't turn the ball over. Remember when Gino was given the opportunity during that game 3 against the Giants, the famous Snoopy Bull? Rex wanted to win so bad that he put in Sanchez in the second half? Yes. Well, Gino threw three picks in that game. before and that's why he pulled him and put in Sanchez for some stupid reason but I don't want to see that I don't need to see like I want to see him start week 3 metric number 1 and I want to see him play well enough to get through where he doesn't get yanked like score 17 points in the first half Jake: I would say touchdown interception ratio has to be at least 2 to 1 Right. We I got to see. I'm fine with one to one. I'm not fine. Well, I got to see. I got to see him score. And you're right. And presence in the pocket. Yeah, he's going to scramble around a lot. Justin: It's going to be a lot of eye test stuff. Like you have to be like, whoa, professional or like, probably maybe could use some time to wait missing a wide open guy versus like hitting them coming across or right. Jake: or faking the throw and opening up a guy and then bombing to him and getting a touchdown. Justin: And then some of the shit that you're not gonna see until someone breaks it down for you, like on tape, right? The way Romo can do it when he announces a game, when they go to the wider angle and he can show you like, oh, that play was designed for this guy and he saw that safety move over here because he made a move and then boom, he hit this other guy. Bye. Because he can explain that shit to you. I want to hear some of those things like Sam made that play It wasn't just it was designed to do something else But because he saw something it was still successful doing some and it all comes from all the training camp stuff Jake: Right where he's going to be in practice and there's you know They're gonna swap them all out. I think they're just gonna rotate them all through the ones. I think they're all gonna get a chance. I think the worst case scenario is probably what's gonna happen. I'm I'm I think the Teddy Bridgewater is gonna come across as the better quarterback. Justin: In all likelihood, he will. Jake: And unless he's real, unless he's hurt, unless he's really hurt. He's not as of as of. as the the mandatory stuff or whatever he was not hurt he's doing he's playing well he will probably Justin: want him he will probably come off as the best of the three because he has the experience over sam and he has this skill over mccown right he's like you can't be mccown's age and still be in the league if you don't have something to bring to the table Regardless of what team or teams you've played on, he's been in the league for a long long time. He's almost 40 years old. Yeah, but you've got to think, wow, that's a pretty smart quarterback because he's not a physically gifted player. So he gets a lot out of what he brings to the table physically. Bridgewater is a much more physically gifted player.
00 Justin: Sam, we believe, we haven't really watched him on the NFL level, we believe is... Physically way more skilled than what you have with Josh McCown But when you watch McCown play last year was like oh He's a pretty crafty dude and he gets a lot out of what he has He just doesn't have a whole lot right but that's why he doesn't have win That's right. He's not a starter and he hasn't like brought a team to the playoffs or any lunch it But he's smart enough to be a backup and then I fell for a really fucking long time last year four or five. He went all in five. Right. Right. All five. That's what he is. Yeah, I got it. But that's fine. Well, he gets a lot out of what he has. It's not fine because if he's the name, the starter, that's what I don't get. He won't be the starter. Not with these three guys in the roster. He is number three. He's there to coach. OK. I just feel like our coaching staff is just a little bit stubborn. He's there to coach. I think the worst case scenario, worst worst case scenario. Is everybody getting hurt? That's the worst. Second worst case aside from that. In my opinion the worst case scenario is Teddy Bridgewater wins the job because to me that means Sam's not even dressing week one. Probably. Because they'll be like we're gonna dress mccown just in case. Right. I think because they're gonna want darnell to start the game not to come in in the middle like having not worked on anything in week one. Best case scenario for me is. Jake: Is Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Donald is good. It's just good. I don't want him to be the savior of the world. I want to be good. And then I want- I wouldn't mind savior of the world. I feel like I don't want the hype machine to get going too fast. I would like him to work himself into being a good quarterback. I'd like Bridgewater to come out and look amazing and I want offers and I want him off the roster. and pick up anybody. Justin: Something has to happen like injury. Jake: I think it's already happened. We already have... We need injuries. Justin: Injuries, injuries, like long-term injuries, like season-long injuries. Jake: No, three, four games. Again, they're not to go start somewhere. He's a backup where he is now, but it's to go have maybe to start for three weeks. But he could be a starter. He could very well be a starter. But I don't want him to start on this team. There's no... No. Because that fucks up our franchise for 10 years. Justin: No one disagreed with you. Jake: I said no, I don't want him to start. The only way I want him to start is if he is so fucking amazing that literally we go holy shit we just landed in a pile of poop. Guess what he might be. And we could win three Super Bowls with him. And we have two number one quarterbacks on our team and fine. Then that's the only scenario that I can drop Macau. Justin: The last time he played... He was good. It was the 2015 season. Right? Yeah. So he missed 16, missed 17. Yep. And it was the 2015, so I guess it happened in 2016. He won the division. So the Vikings win the division in a division with the Packers in it, by the way. So they win that. He then drives the team down against the Seattle Legion and Boom Defense,
03 Justin: which still existed two years ago, and set up his kicker for a 23, 24 yard field goal to win the game with no time left. Remember, they weren't in the dome. They were out in that little crappy stadium. It's not a crappy stadium. It's University of Minnesota. But who cares? Totally crappy. The guy missed a 20 something yard field goal where he was about to... take a team that won the division and advance them around in the playoffs. He did all that. The kicker fucked it up. That's pretty good. That's his last time playing in the NFL. I hear that. The Vikings had high hopes moving into the next season. But him being a one-year guy and I just it would be incredible to strike gold like that. I just. Jake: I want Sam to, I need this to be a Sam thing and I'm looking forward to being a Sam thing. So, all right, anything, oh, we gotta, we're doing, are we gonna do the JK Fantasy week again? Why wouldn't we? All right, well, all right, so everybody's a listener. You gotta hit me up, because I'm looking for who's coming back, because anybody who's not coming back, we're gonna get new players in. So if you are coming back, you need to hit me up in social and Twitter, at Jet Kingdom. them. Tell me you're coming back. I'm assuming everybody's coming back. Justin: Yeah, we're just gonna like set the draft and the time and you're just gonna have to fucking deal with it. We don't have time for your bullshit. We have to go back to the winner and find out what changed the rules. Who won? I don't know. I forgot. Did you win? I did not win. I didn't win. I think I came close. I don't care. Yeah. Fuck you all. I'll beat you this day. Jake: I won it importantly, so I'm happy with my... Justin: Oh, I won that one too. Jake: No, you did. I did. You did not. I had nothing to do with that. I had a lot to do with it. Justin: Nothing, and I have you on tape telling me you had nothing to do with it. Jake: We'll be right back. Justin: When I made the trade the trader you made an approval you needed to trade approval or after like Maybe some shit has gone down. Yeah, it's in this. We'll see. We'll see. But I think peace and game one is. And one's a guy be at least a couple of weeks away. Right. It's beginning August. We'll see how it goes. But definitely. Is there a game like this coming weekend? No, not this. Then the weekend after the whole thing is got to be real fucking soon. Uh, I don't know. But you know what? Jake: Anybody else in the world can go out and go look at it and they'll find it. Usually it's like first week of August. Until then, 300 episode. Yeah! Can't wait for 400. Ha ha! Until then, as always, Justin and Jake saying, Let's go, Jets!
