19 Jake: Welcome to the JK podcast, longest running New York Jets podcast. Ever period, end of story, end of sentence. I'm Jake, joining me 307 times in a row. Justin: Seven. Jake: It's Justin. Justin, how are you doing on this fine, fine Thursday? Justin: Seven minute abs. Jake: Yeah, I like to go with two minute abs because I tried seven minute abs but I wanted to get back those five minutes. I need more coverage. The thing that you actually did couch to 5k once it's kind of funny Yeah, but you know You know, can you run a 5k now? I guess you can we went for a four mile a day All right. Well Just pretend this is Monday and this is a happy Monday winning We're having it we're finding it very hard to do podcasts on Mondays. So sorry about that Justin: Sorry, not sorry The voice just goes. Jake: Yes, oh, screaming, can't wait. So we got big agendas today. We got Jesper's Colts, game recap, we'll put the nights in the game, play the game, talk about some injuries. So we are very injured. We'll talk, we'll recap what happened, ejecting fancily, what happened, where's happening, who's happening, who's standing, who's not standing. Then we'll get into the pick-em, talk about last week. really go over the standings, gonna really just deep dive into the standings. Really who's on top, that's very important. Who's dominating, who's nominating? And then we'll make our picks for everything but the AFC East. Now we'll head into our AFC East throne pick segment. Where we pick just the AFC East with points. And then we'll talk about the keys of the castle in beating the Vikings. on Sunday. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Can't wait. Can't stop a nosebleed. Alright, so let's start off with Jets versus Colts. So I will say going into this game I had a very uh... I had a good feeling and I was actually walking down the street before the game. You know, we meet in the lobby and we drive the game and we go pretty early. Although not as early as most. I think we should go earlier this week. Well we have to go in early. We have to go in early this week. So no go in early. So we need to go to the stadium early. It does. Don't get me. We get a good spot. Justin: How many should we go in earlier? Jake: We're 15 minutes off from not getting a good spot.
04 Justin: Yeah, but we get the early time. Jake: Just saying. We gotta leave earlier. Anyway, I was walking down the- Justin: I gotta make breakfast before we even go and make breakfast. Jake: Make it the day before. Justin: No, that's disgusting. Jake: No eggs will be fine in a container overnight. Okay, just bring the eggs with you and make it there. Okay. Justin: Where's my hands? I don't want to sound an airman shit. Jake: Piss on them. Oh! You're so stupid! You don't know you piss on your hands! You're so stupid! Oh, and then... You're ugly! Justin: You're ugly! Jake: So, um... Yeah, so I was walking back. I went to Dunkin Donuts, grabbed my coffee, and I'm walking back and another Jets fan was walking the other way. And I know him from the building, actually he has Jets hat on and he was with his new, his wife and they have a new baby and they were crewing out going to the game. And I, and he said like, he's like You know, are they gonna win today? I'm like, he's gonna go on the game like, yeah, I'm going the game He's like, are they gonna win the game? Like I have this feeling and it's that weird icky Jets feeling It's like I feel like they should win. It's just I feel like they should they're just in this point It colds versus Jets. The Jets are a better team and they should win this game So long behold they did or you what's your feelings? I mean it was a Kind of a jetty start Justin: Well for them totally totes my goats I have watched this game three times now. One slide. Jake: And how many times do you watch the Browns game? And the Jags game? Justin: Just the one. Jake: Okay. Just to be clear. I mean it's totally what I've done too. It's very hard to watch them when they lose. Justin: You know what it was? The NFL game pass thing wasn't working for me for a little bit. And then you told me how to fix it. And then I fixed it and I was like alright now I'll just watch. Um, you know, last week they were just like, they're, I have watched the condensed version of this whole game a few times. Um, pretty familiar with what went on there. Um, pretty good game, all around. When you look at it, you can say, well, the game's been played at great, but I went to St. Crete. Um, they were opportunistic, they got turnovers. in the region. and do lots of tough things like climb through the ground, but also they got a lot of tough things out of the right ways. They moved with the whole heck of a lot, and when they did, it did work. They got home towards the second half, so they went up like 30 to 13.
01 Justin: And they got a little soft and the Colts started running on us a little bit, which was a little weird. But there were a couple of things that stood out about the game and to me that were quite fantastic, particularly in the second quarter. The second quarter was... pretty darn good from the jet, particularly the end. They scored, they scored like three times in the last five minutes. And that order, I think, if I'm looking at this, I never think it's special. Yeah, it might be. And they scored 40 times in the last two and a half minutes of the town. They scored a touchdown, they scored a field goal, and then they scored another field goal. Jake: And... Well, they scored seven field goals. Justin: And then they scored a lot of field goals. Which was funny, you and I were having a little... Jake: ...pitch, we didn't understand. As we do... ...as... ...as... ...because I'm the seer. Justin: ...as the Jets went... I started saying, they got the ball right after the two minute warning. That's when they had the ball. He was like, okay, slow your roll, run the ball, get the climb started, let's just score with no time left. Jake: That's not leave any time left, right? Right, either touchdown or deal goal. Justin: And I'm like, I don't care, actually I think this is a great opportunity to take a shot at the end of the day. Right now from the 30. Right. Take it. And they did and I missed Jake: Right great pass Justin: One slide and I said that was a great pass again to drop the yeah, I was on the other end is that other end of the Jake: Thanks He was not a super easy catch, but it was... Justin: It's a catch that Robbie made, Robbie makes those kind of things. Jake: The corner was in front of him and he had to reach out and like it was low, as I recall. Justin: It wasn't like a jump ball. It was like a quick fast. It went through his hands. I was wondering if he could catch it with Robbie and it went through his hands. And I was like, damn, I was a shot. And they put up the Google and went up 20 to 13, and left a minute 25 on the clock, which is what you did not want. I did not want that. And the team stepped up and got us the ball back. And lo and behold, here comes Sammy Darnold, right back down here, both scoring on the Google. And that was awesome to see. Jake: It was very aggressive and I guess my, I'm so super shocked of being, playing the Patriots that you're playing the Patriots, you want points obviously, you need to score touchdowns not field goals, but you never ever ever ever ever ever leave them
06 Jake: with anything more than I would say 40 seconds. And a minute something is bad. So I'm going from the I rather not let them you know Do anything I the defense stood up. That's great. I just don't trust the defense to stop Honestly to stop Andrew up from from doing that two-minute drill He's a good quarterback and I could have so long see us kick the field goal and then then go drive down Make a touchdown and that game's very different Justin: so it happened but Yes Haven't seen that in a while. Nope. That was good to see. Right. Like, had total control over the whole damn thing. Jake: Kind of the opposite of what happened. Oh, what was the game that we almost got the touchdown at the end of the half with the tight end and he like, can you just fumble it? Justin: Oh, I thought it was the pages. Jake: No, no, no. This year. This year. Justin: This year? Jake: Yeah, remember we were going down, it was right towards the end and like, he had the ball, he threw it to the tight end, and tight end should have tried to make the play. Oh, yeah, I heard that. Yeah. Like they got to within very close, but they didn't do it then he couldn't have enough time to like down it Justin: Zero seconds, right Odd Jets moment, where there was Sam through his intersection, which he's gotta have a clean game at some point. Like, we need to see a clean game with no picks? That'd be great. I get it. He's got a big gap for that and he still has more touch down at the intersection, which is good. He hasn't fumbled call yet, which is a... Good thing I'll just jinx it right there. Did you see the snaps again? They're fucking all over the place. Oh, I think he threw that pick. Jake: He's a fucking pitcher back there. Justin: I threw the pick because the timing of the play was completely off because the snap was on the ground. So he had to bend down, we picked the ball up off the ground, and then he had no time, and then the timing was off and we just kept it. Who should have come back to come back to the ball Jake: He and and again as much as the pics are that the most pics are bad and his numbers overall, you know the number of pics that I'm still, I haven't seen him do, or maybe he's done one or twice, is the really just fucking bonehead, well, I guess the first pass of the first game, his first pass in the NFL. But even that wasn't, that was a whip it up
02 Jake: on the other side and the guy stepped in. But you've seen Sanchez and Tino They'll just stare down a guy, they'll throw it right straight at him, and the corner is literally just sitting there like, why'd you throw it here? Or the linebacker, and he's just like, oh, thanks. And he picks it, and they run for touchdown. So like, he's just not making absolutely boneheaded decisions, so I'm kind of liking that. I'm expecting him to, because he's a rookie, but... Great game for him. I mean, this is this is the hey coming off last week where he completed 10 passes, right? To and had a low percentage rate or kind of saying hey look, you know that past completion thing is important Let's see it improve. This was this was improved. He kept 80 When you complete 80% of your passes It's not a lot of yards. He's not driving tons, but the defense is making it so he doesn't have to I would say the complaint would only be sort of red zone offense. Where is it and why are we why are we kicking seven vehicles? because this game would have been a completely but a blowout game if Two of those few goals were touchdowns. This game is like not even in they might have sat fucking Justin: A lot, but we at least have it. I guess we're going to turn over right before. Yep. Yeah. Jake: Yeah, I mean, welcome intercepted 3 times. Justin: Really quick. Big quarter was after the intersection to Robbie. Fine. The next offensive play was where Anima fumbled. Because the two offensive plays in a row, we turned the ball away. That was unacceptable. Even though we scored 42 points and we kicked this team's ass, we really did. We cannot just give them all away like that. And you can't do it a in succession, like, fine, it's gonna happen early and not late. Come on, like, even because of break, you can't do like, bumbleings and all the work. Jake: It's the difference between, again, killer instinct teams that just put one up on you and then just literally took, take their foot and put it on your throat. Justin: What would we have scored? Jake: Thank you. It Fun to be there, great. I think the crowd's really getting into it. I'm insane to say, but this has never been like a great third down crowd. I mean, generally that's when people do that. I'm finding more and more people getting up on second down.
00 Jake: I'm like, look, people understand that defense is a success. It's just, you have this feeling that you're starting to build and it's getting hard as a chess fan not to get too excited because this guy just looks. Again, he's just not looking like a rookie. He doesn't look like... He's not doing rookie things. He's standing in the pocket. He's making plays. He's making plays with his feet. He had one frickin' hit. I cannot believe they did. I watched that one again. I'm like, how did they not call that? Like, he was trying to slide and they... They hit his head. Super hard and like I'm glad he just got right up, but Justin: He made Jake: Yeah, I see another thing though like you didn't even slide enough Yeah, great clips by the way, I'm gonna watch that Justin: He got back and said yeah The player said, you gotta get down earlier, they're like trying to park shit or whatever, and it was whatever, which I like about it, and he kinda just walked away. But the wrath came over him and was like, you gotta get down earlier, you gotta get down earlier, and he's like, okay, okay, I got it, I got it. Jake: Yeah, I just feel like that's one of those things Anyway, so pick your player of the game and your night of the game you play and night of the game Justin: So I think that the full line of the game came in the third quarter and it was on the opening drive and it was a tough shot pass to create changes. Because all year long we've been sitting there throwing these rubber-seared strings, throwing these little passes at the line of scrimmage. I've been waiting for the time when... It all comes together and all the setup of that leads to a big play on the field. There's two yards on the top. Perfect little body like, feet by Sam looking over there. Quick movement with his shoulder. Everybody jumps forward. And then he had his choice of throwing his hermit or legging downfield. His hermit and stride puffed down. I think that was like a no-brainer. That was my play of the game. And in terms of the player of the game... We had to really single out somebody when we like dominated to play at 43. I might just have to say for the first time ever Sam Darnold gets my player of the game. Because the quarterback led us to 42 points. He kind of waiting like 100 for Jamie to be inside of his basket group at 280 yards. And he drove when he needed to drive.
00 Justin: Yeah, he played good. Jake: We say it every week. Like, when I turned to you in part of our stadium thing that was not recorded, you know, we talk about good teams and bad teams, and there's good teams, and there are just traits that you can sort of checkbox traits of good teams. And that trait of... of deferring the ball, you know, stopping them on the first play and then scoring right before the half and scoring after. That's a good team. That means you can score when you want. Granted, touchdowns are better, but you can score when you want and it just puts the pressure on them. It doesn't let them come out and have their game. I was interested that the running game went from like 300 yards to like barely 100. We were not running and it looked like the Colts just said, all right, we saw what you did last week against Denver. We're just gonna not let you run. We're gonna literally just not let you run. I don't care, we're gonna sacrifice everything. Not really, like there was a lot of attempts, but not a lot of yards. Justin: Yeah, but the attempts are important. Jake: Yeah, but it's not running. Like, if you do the yards per play, or yards per run on this week versus last week, it was way under, it was down in the threes, and last week it was... Justin: Well, last week we had a guy who ran for 220 yards against a team that just had another rider run for 200 yards. Jake: But like, 36 attempts and 102 yards isn't really a lot. It's not running. Justin: Yeah, but you have to do it. Jake: I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's not really dominating running. And it's interesting to see from one team to the next, against what I consider a better defense. We ran all over the fuck over them. Then this week, I consider a bad defense. And they shut down our run. They did. They shut it down. Justin: Kind of in situations, though, where we wanted to lose big runs. Jake: Yeah, so my play my player and I I mean I could pick him every week but he had the big force fumble this week this time and it just It's just fun to watch him and it's like If you want to like project 10 years and you have sam on one side and you have jamaal adams on the other You have these two cats two first round picks like man And there's so opposite personalities. Jamal is like all personality and all talking and all smack. Justin: He's off the wall. Jake: He is just insane. And now he's like in his second year so he's getting that even more swagger. God forbid he actually starts to play. He plays really well. Anyway, he is stunning. I'll say the second pass is the second play of the game. That it kind of like oh, I was at the Denver Seahawks game You know that game that it played in the metal ends. I'm sorry. I'm at life stadium super bill And you know the first play was the fumble, you know safety Or fumble touchdown on the safety is fumble touchdown You know Seahawks and and Denver just never could come out of it and I kind of felt like that's what happened I don't feel like the Colts really yeah, they fought back
03 Jake: Yes, they even went up a little I think they went up at one point ten seven, right Yeah so that was like the play because that play I think again, that's the way that we usually give up and It was a reverse and I feel like that kind of set the tone for the whole game And I feel like the confidence of the Jets at that point was pretty much like yeah, we're gonna win Justin: Yeah I know Kicker's Kicker, but... Kicker's gonna kick. Jake: Did he make any big ones? Like a 55er maybe? Was a long one? I don't know. What was this? Justin: In the longest game, it was 48. Okay. There wasn't even like big picks, but he's actually a good kicker. He's got big life. Jake: Yes, he does. He's great on kickoffs. He's got big life. He puts him in the back every time. Justin: I'm not a game, like if there's ever a moment where, like, we're lining up for a 50, 60, or a big, long win... I'm gonna feel alright when our guys can like get it there. It's just a matter of whether they're gonna make it or not. Jake: So let's talk injuries. Two down. We actually have, if you look at the list that's coming... So I was gonna go there and come up with the list. Justin: We're gonna be out three to four weeks. Three to four weeks? See why a safety is out with a radiation. Jake: Isn't there a player on a team up in whatever that he doesn't have a hand? Justin: He literally doesn't have a hand. I don't know. I've seen Jason Pierre Paul play full seasons with a ball on his hand. Jake: With zero hand. Justin: Oh, he's got a hand and he just doesn't have certain fingers. Okay. Jake: So why can't we just snap off one of his fingers and just tape it up? Justin: Well, I see why. He can't play with the ball. Like, that... Jake: Right. Justin: That just... Jake: I mean, safety is different than being on a defensive end. Justin: Well, the thing he can't do is catch with it. He could still hit the ball with it. Anyway. Jake: I mean it could hit somebody with it. Justin: It's... It isn't good. That's not good because Marcus is really important and Kunki and Luma hurt his legs, triangle strain on the plate where he fumbled. Jake: Yeah, so those two are out. Justin: Yeah, I mean... Luckily at live receiver, we're not like super dependent on a live receiver. I don't think if any one single live receiver is out, it's going to make a huge difference. If two were out, probably. But, Torell prior stepped right into the quintineural and played pretty well. Yeah, and he's... things that your new hood does. prior game so okay yep and cursed had a very nice game cursed had a great game it's a one-trick pony Jake: right um so it's looking like we're not gonna have
02 Jake: tremane johnson again this is looking like a very expensive check that we paid um everybody else is questionable priors questionable uh Buster screen is questionable, so that's good. Leonard is questionable, Robbie Anderson is questionable. Coel is probable, so he got over whatever his foot was. And then yeah, Sam Darl, first time on the elbow, is from when he made the tackle from his own interception. Yeah, no, he seems to be pretty like a tough dude. I watched this a couple times, he got pushed really hard and he just kind of went, he just. Thanks for watching! He's a big guy. Again, trying so hard not to get super worked up about this Justin: and saying, oh my god, it's the greatest thing I've ever. Jake: But so I'm not going to do that. All right, let's talk about the Jet King of Fantasy League. How'd we do last week? Who won? Who lost? Oh god, you're the worst. I lost big time to Jesse. Well, it's because you're, well you won! Oh, you got to put up Gareth. Gareth, you put up 57 points? That's terrible. You put up 105. This week, Don't put it on Gareth. Duh, butter. This week I'm taking on Brian Bogdansky, who is the Gully Qs, I guess. Not happy that his name is not on our team. Looks to be pretty even. And you're taking on Jesse who just beat me, so enjoy that. Standings are not real because I have to still go back and make some whatever, but Marshall Faw is doing well. And it's actually a lot of people, no one in the bottom except for you, two and four. Is this why you're not getting that, because you're terrible? Okay, it's because you're terrible. Speaking of you being terrible, let's go and look at that Jet Kingdom pick-up. Justin: Oh, let's do that. Jake: Yeah, let's look at the weekly performance. And let's see who won last week. Who's this guy? Is that Jake the podcaster on the top? With three weeks in a row of the winning picks. Justin: Sweet! Jake: I now lead the entire thing with 43. 3. When to fold, when to journal, just right below me at 42. And you're, wait, hold on, I scroll. I scroll, hold on, I'm scrolling. Wait, scroll, scroll. Wait, hold on, I gotta scroll a little. Oh, 38, there you are, way down there. Sorry, I could barely. Yeah, yeah, you're terrible. I love it. Justin: I know what I did, I did get on the jets from the parking lot and I did win something really money. Jake: Thank you. Can we talk about the twice you bet on them in lost this is typical this is this is and then you double down in the middle of game This is what I love about gamblers, it's always that they forget their losses I would debate you said one five thousand dollars. You're like, well, how many years you've been going ten years for now
04 Jake: How much you spend a year five thousand dollars? Oh, so you're up Justin: This game I also bet on and I won and... Let's see your balls this week. I was watching it in game and it was like... Funny how we were favor... We didn't know anything like when we got down... I think it was 10-7. Like all of a sudden we were getting two points and I'm like... Oh, I can middle this and... I just lost a lot. Jake: Okay, I'm glad you're having fun. I know you are I haven't gotten into I just don't want to get into it I already spent enough money on this stupid crap Alright, so let's get to our picks. Let's just pick so remember this is the throne This is a sorry checking to pick them every game, but the AFC East We'll see if Justin cannot pick the AFC East. Let's get it. Justin: Here's the final line. We have a London game. Jake: Yes, and it's an early London game. It's an early London game. It's not a one o'clock one. Justin: It's an early London game. Jake: Boom. I just, I like it when I'm home for those because then I can literally just start the TV at 9.30 and just sit back. Justin: Do you like the room that Justin got in there? Jake: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Justin: Alright, well, let's get going with this shitty Thursday night game, that's gay. Today is Thursday, that's when we're recording this, and tonight, Denver will go to Arizona. This is a fucking shit game. I can't imagine anyone watches this. Jake: I will. Justin: People in Denver and Arizona. Jake: I will watch it. Yeah, fantasy. Justin: You shouldn't even have a player. Jake: I've got like three players. I've got two different leagues. I've got Lindsay, I've got uh... Justin: Oh yes, sorry. Denver's fine. Oh I have no idea. Denver's favorite on the road on Thursday. Jake: I have Rosen on my bench somewhere. Justin: The favorite by one. I think up there are a couple of losses on the road. Denver is going to be some of the quarterback. Jake: I too will take Denver Justin: Yeah, baby are technically home. Jake: That is a long flight. Justin: It's a long fucking hall. The chargers are home, technically. And they're favored by 7 over Tennessee. And I like Tennessee just because of the long hummus of it and the 7 planes. It's like, that's a long way to go from LA to London. I know Tennessee just got the wrong team, but I feel like they're an up and down and you're the only team and I'll take those seven points this time. Jake: Yeah, I think they're an up and down team, but mostly down. So I think the Chargers are a better team. They're going to win and they're going to win by 1420. It's going to be it's going to be embarrassing.
00 Justin: Watch this power move. Next game, Philadelphia hosting Carolina. Jake: Ma'am! Skip, skip, skip, skip. Justin: Philly is... Looking like they're coming around here, like they're getting healthier and healthier. It's like three weeks. This is both weeks. Home, Carolina, David by Five, I like Philly. We need to. I like Philly. Jake: Philly Philly. I don't know. I have this feeling about Philly too. I feel like they're a up and down team. Which is not going to be great this year. I feel like they're gonna and I feel like Carolina has enough weapons I actually think Caroline could go in there. So I'm gonna pick Carolina. I don't know if they'll win or not, but they'll cover I'll take the five and Justin: Last week, and decided to be Cleveland again. It's not gonna happen by the way, they are still the brown, and their coach still sucks, and they are 30 or 30 for that. You gotta get rid of that coach. In the meantime, they're gonna suck. Tampa though is favored by three, and I don't think that's the right formula to Cleveland that way. Jake: Oh really? I'll take Tampa. Tampa at home. I don't know. Justin: Then we have my jags hosting Houston. My jags have come off of some terrible losses. So the point is, is this really the same team? What is this shit? All of a sudden, Bordeaux looks like... borders Jake: Can we go back to like we're You know, we talked about the Jags in the offseason and I was like, I just why don't they trade we kept talking about Why are they trading for Bridgewater? What this is the team that needs that that player and they think this is a bad organization They're sticking with this guy, they double down and they paid him again. He's... Justin: That's a good one, a lot though. Jake: Doesn't matter, he's not... he's not going to win you the games. Oh yeah, he got there. Doesn't matter, he's not going to win you the games. Justin: I don't know if you can say that, like Blake Bortles is. much more than any bridge water has. Jake: I think bridge water has much more upside. I've seen much more tape on bridge, to bore, borals. He's not good. Justin: Okay. Well, he could die ass. He's here for almost. Jake: Yeah, that fucking sucks. Because now I look back and every other day, it's a sucktard and he looked like this, you know, like I'm coming up Brady. Justin: Anyway, they're favored by five and a half. I don't know. I like them. Jake: I like them. Justin: over Houston Jake: Houston's not right, but I still think it's still the five. I don't know. I think this will be close They have this weird they have enough to get to him
01 Jake: You know enough on the defense that defense ever started actually clicking I could see them just dominate a team I feel like Houston has all these weapons and it just doesn't it never works out Justin: back to like coaching. Last year my great goal was actually the different coordinator and and and Romeo was like assistant head coach in terms of the different. Jake: How do you have Clowney Watt? How do you have Merciless? How do you have uh they have a they have Johnson, they have a good corner. Yep, Joseph Johnson. Is it Joseph or Johnson? Joseph you have Watson you have Hopkins. It's not like you look at this team you're like well You're just devoid of any talent I'll take Houston. I think I think their talent will show up this week Justin: Because of that one the game actually. Baltimore will be hosting New Orleans. Jake: Baltimore, favorite. Just me if you look at all these games, sorry. It was just me. Like, I almost like all those games like these are all shit. It's like almost every game on the slate. I'm like, do I even want to watch this? I don't want to watch Thursday night. Justin: Well, Thursday night's terrible. Sunday night should be good. Jake: The best game on here is the one that we're going to talk about in a little bit like I feel like Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like the best game the Monday night game Sunday night money that are terrible Justin: I don't think all of them will be that good, but at home, they're pretty tough. They would be defense, they're favored by 2.5 and I like to win. Jake: I'll take no wins as well. Justin: Alright, keep going on the corners. We have the Rams going with two San Francisco Rams, favored by 10.5. I like them. They're going to run. Jake: Yep, I normally don't like those ten and a halfs, but this one I just feel like this Justin: That's what it looks like, good all of a sudden. Yeah, that's gonna run out. Alright, we'll have a little laugh at 4 o'clock, Washington, Dallas. That's always a good game. It's a good division game. It's not like it's a- Jake: But not this year. You're like, eh. Justin: That's a close division game. Jake: I mean this division is close, but only close because they're all bad. Justin: This is a picker, which I find weird. I think watching things better than that would all take the home game with the picker. Jake: Oh, Dallas kind of got their swag back. I feel like they'll show up this week. Give me Dallas. Fake swag. Justin: Good Sunday night game. No! This is a good day. How so? Jake: The Red Rocket versus... Justin: Well, I have Kansas City. Mahomes? Really good and fun to watch. Jake: Great. Justin: I guess Cincinnati, who's also the leading team.
02 Jake: I mean, the only thing good about this is I haven't watched Cincynad I've watched, Casey, more than a few times. Like they've been I've had night games a lot. Maybe not. Let's say Deserve. I haven't watched Cincy. I don't think I've almost seen maybe like a replay. Justin: It's pretty good. Really? I believe so. I mean, I think they're that they're I mean, afford to. They're OK. Their division. That's a good game. Hi! I guess. Kansas City's favored by 5.5, the home a, a that, a of and are doing score 5. Jake: Did you look at the defense of the land? They're one of the worst defenses. Justin: They have one of the worst offenses. Jake: They just have to look down the field three more times. Justin: I don't do that. I don't get what they're doing, but whatever it is, it's wrong. Like, I don't understand it. Barkley, 300 yards. I think that might be problem with having like superstars is you force the ball to them. as opposed to just running the fucking hall Jake: Yeah, I just think this will be close. I think Alain takes it, but I think just because,, and the that. the--. the and. I and. and I picked. and I picked New England to win or lose. They almost did. I picked New England to win or lose. Close. Justin: Back in, I knocked the cops off the top. I was fired. I'm like, fuck, I missed 40, 43. Jake: 40, 43 or something. Justin: Yeah, it was close to that. I had to fire it. Jake: Jesus yeah, who's I didn't get to put this one in Justin: In these hosting Jake: Yes, what's not spread I Know Detroit is I know thing is off. This is off Justin: It's been announced third and Anderson is starting for years. Jake: Oh they did. They're not going to start... They're not going to start... Petermann? Why not? Justin: I think it's going to
00 Justin: to be seen enough. Jake: But they started there at the beginning of the season. Justin: I think they saw enough. It's one of those situations that you've been asking for for many years and then you just realized that was just really good. Yeah. Right? Jake: Yeah. So they're going to play. But. Justin: They are going to play their getters in. Why? Because they're kind of winged in. Why? Because that's what coaches do as to not get fired. Jake: This is first year. Second year. Justin: The playoffs last year and then decided to get. No need to run Taylor. Jake: Oh, I'm sorry. Who's now backing up a fucking I bet they do they're just collectively stupid Justin: For all I know this is gonna be freaking weird. I think Anderson has one of those games where like He's only really won and it's gonna be the first game He's not going to know exactly exactly what he's prepared for where he actually moves the ball I think the really had a decent enough defense To the point where and they win 20 to 17 directly Jake: You better write that down absolutely not no way Indy's D was not as bad. Justin: Really? We scored 42-point. Yeah. Jake: And how many touchdowns? Two. Two touchdowns. A lot of field goals. Justin: A lot of field goals. Jake: They shut down our run. On the road. They'll be back at home. Andrew is gonna walk up and down the field. He's gonna score right Not on the road they won't be 32 12 cults Because it's off because of the Tannehill slash Brock Justin: So what's the controversy there? Is Tannoy on a hurt? What happened? Jake: I think they're even looking at it because they told Brock on Sunday morning. Justin: Like he was hurting? Jake: Yeah, like Tannoy's shoulder is not good. But on Sunday morning, what did Tannoy go out and fist pump all night? Like what did he do to hurt his shoulder overnight that it'd be like he can't start? fishy Um, yeah, it's real if you hadn Justin: Feels like a pension Jake: Yeah But but they called it a an injury But then brock the cock comes out and wins a goddamn game
00 Justin: We should state that, right? Brock and Kha'ak played in Denver, Azur Rooki, and the second year player underneath Adam Diggs, as the offensive coordinator underneath Ned. And that year that Brock came in when Danny got hurt, he was the offensive coordinator, and Brock played really well to the, and to the point of there even being a controversy going into the playoffs. and we'll talk soon. That is healthy should you player should we stick with right? Jake: Alright cuz Brock I think played a couple of games with Danny started to show Right Danny goes to Houston Justin: He made the money on that. One of my favorite comment tales on the regular network, Michael and Barney. He has a nickname for Brock, not like a... Oh, he called him the heist. He called him the heist straight up. Like he's totally used to running. Oh, a lot of it. Didn't they... Did they trade him to Cleveland? They traded him for a pile of peanuts. No, they traded him for less value. Meaning they said, we're going to trade you Brock Osweiler. And I'm going to make up a number. The 47 pecking the draft. We'll get a player and pick 47 and in return, we'll take pick 53. It was a salary. Yeah, it was a salary. We only had the cap space and it's what basketball teams do all the time. Really bad basketball teams will take. money off of a team that's trying to make a move and go somewhere and say, yeah, we'll take that shitty salary, but you've got to give us something better in return. You're basically paying for it. It's a negative to take on the salary and we'll give you something shitty back. That's what's happening. I don't care who starts, techno or rock, I don't think Miami makes good. I also don't think Detroit's all that good either, but I think they're better than Miami, and I don't think the Miami House does much to anything, so I think Detroit, I don't think there's gonna be a lot of staying here. Jake: I think Detroit will win. I can't see Brock the Cock doing anything interesting other than cocking it up. I think it will be a little bit more points. Cocking it up. We'll see on Sunday. We won't see but they'll be playing it in the stadium. 3023 DeLions over Duffish. Very. Justin: She's very good. Jake: We still have our shot at them. Justin: ...that they beat Chicago.
03 Justin: Chicago is hosting the other. And our underdogs are coming. Three and a half. I think so. And I think we're in the picnic. Right here. You know, you get to even the first four or five weeks. I like it. That's it. Now they're healthy, and they've got weapons now, and Edelman's back, and Jordan's playing on the outside until he doesn't, and you know, they can unwrap Gronk when they need him and put him back in the box when they don't, so they never get hurt. I will wrap So they're gonna show him, so they're really gonna run him back. Oh boy. I think Chicago's in for a whole lot of person. Young quarter now. Good system. I went with just a free stick last week. I gave up 40 points. But I think my home, to come through the hill, I better than any treat Chicago after. Jake: Do you think that that game, KC, New England game, flipped to Arrowhead? They win that game? Yeah, I think so. Justin: I don't think this is the thing where I don't think Chicago has the same level of talent there. Your defense is better. Jake: Much. I mean, but like night and day. We're talking about almost the worst defense in the league to one of the top at least five. Justin: Yeah, with some serious ability against the quarterback. With Matt. It's the only way to win against Patriots. There's a comment made by Bell, checked yesterday, a reporter asked. Kevin, it's a real Mac, it's something along the lines, it's a real Mac, reminds you of, or like compared to LT. And the whole chat's response was, we're talking about Lawrence Taylor here. Like nobody, like shut up basically. Shut your cake hole. I think really when you wouldn't fit. Bean? Probably scores a little less than in the 43 they put up on on PC, but still puts up some points. And I think Trubiski's in for a long day. 36. Jake: Oof. I'm reversing it. A, I'm gonna pick, I'm gonna just double down. Justin: Oh yeah, like almost exactly. Jake: Yep, I'm reversing it. Not only am I gonna pick the saxophone score I picked last week, cause I'm doubling down on that. I'm doubling down on the page where it's losing. And I'm doubling down on playing for my heart, not for... Justin: You just want Chicago to win a game against... Yes! There's so many reasons why I want them to win! ...and then you're like, yeah... Jake: Yeah... Yeah... I don't want that. So I... Listen, there are ways to beat the Patriots. It comes from a great pass rush. Getting to Brady is the number one thing. I think being in Chicago changes the scope of this game. They're gonna have let down games. They're gonna have let down games. I think this is a let down game. I can't wait. We won't be able to watch it. I just think Chicago is going to be up on a little bit.
01 Jake: They're pissed about the loss last week. Brock the cock back at home. They're going to they're going to put on the beer, put on the bears suit. And they're going to win. 30 17 Dubairs. Justin: I mean, both teams. I mean, I got, you know, they fumbled it as a one. Jake: Kind of went at the field. It's like they didn't want to win. Like, no team won to win. Justin: Kind of went on to win that. All right. And now we move on. The game of... The game of, yeah, the 3th century, whatever. Jake: So... Justin: This is cool, he gets to point to her cousins. I've been looking forward to this one. This one was circled on my schedule. Jake: He's sitting up? Justin: Well, I mean, if I'm sitting there and I'm on that deep end, I'm saying, fuck this asshole. Jake: Yep. Turn down more money from us. Justin: Let's go get him. Jake: Three years guaranteed. What do you got? You got 75? 80 something. Well, I think we had more money on the table. Same deal. Justin: He offered the same, but more money. Jake: More money. Justin: He said, I think I can win faster than the third. Jake: Which, good for him. Justin: Let's see how that plays out when you actually have to play the teammates. Jake: We have a lot of people to thank. Um, a lot of teams and this is one of those teams like this team. If, if Sam Donald turns into what Sam Donald will flick he's doing and we're all happy with this, like indie, we owe them a box of donuts and, uh, in Minnesota, because honestly, Kirk, if he was here, this would be a different team. There would have been a different. It'd be a different thing going on now in our locker room and he's a good player, he's damn good, but I'm hoping we can knock him on his ass a lot. You know, interesting, we did not get any sacks last week. I don't think we sacked. No, we did not. It was definitely the... So, all right, well, give me your game. Give me your keys to the castle. And your score please. Justin: Yeah, so I think for this game, I wish I could just be like, it's the same keys in real. No, it's answer. Well, I feel like with this team, that's just kind of true. So we need to just control the line of current. I'm like a broken record with that. But on the opposite side of the ball, we hit Santa clean. And we need to be able to run the football. And on the other side of the line on the defensive side, we need to be able to get some pressure when we're only rushing forward. And we need to stop them from running the football. You can't have the tabeus hurry to do what you did last week. I think Benigna, it doesn't matter, like you had for like 150 yards, you can have them all. And that one cooked, he barely played, so whatever.
01 Jake: I don't think he's playing. He's out. Justin: You can't have that. That needs to stop. I get it, when the culture I'm on is like fine, the focus is really like, it's on. The whole game, we were in nickel. The Icherson was out there the whole game. So... Finally, they have the Coles, who you're really just hearing that brand new lot. But this is a well-rounded team. They can grow the ball. They have legitimate receivers. Jake: Two. Diggs and Theon. Justin: Yep. Very hard to cover. Jake: And they got a good tight end. Justin: The Rudolph's tough. And the running games, they have a nice little skin, so it's going to be a tough game, but if we can control the line of storage, then we have a much, much better chance of winning this thing. And so that's my keys to the castle. I also think that there needs to be some... controlled aggression when it comes to current economy. Like, let's knock them around a bit, but let's not on third and 10 interrupting the pastor call. Right. Like, let's not do something. Like, that stupidity needs to stop. I wasn't there to ask you. It wasn't. So it was a good clean game last game. It was a very clean game, but but your screening wasn't on the field. It was like notoriously. Hopefully. like 32 holding 41 right five yard penalty first down fuck you man like that stuff needs to be Jake: abolished listen this is not the game to not have you know your your second best safety and your number one corner this is not that game I don't know. I don't know if that's even a liability or not. I don't think it does. What's your score? You think we keep him the 13 points. Justin: getting out and also the other little factor thinks you got to do that. There's little emotional things. Jake: That could be a great one. The other one on the other side that we haven't mentioned is there's a player on the other side who's got a little bit of, I want to fuck you up. Sheldon. Sheldon. So that could be a thing. We've seen him play amazing. I don't think he's... We put down much better players. I'm not too worried about that. I think this game... So my Key of the Castle... I'm making up things this week or whatever. Coming up with phrases this year. I'm saying middle of nowhere is the keys of the castle. Because their game... Diggs has not been this big long ball hitter that he was last year even. But they are destroying people with feeling. Like, he's everywhere, he catches tons of balls, and I just worry like, who's on him? Who's on Thelin? So you're gonna take, you're gonna take Quaeborn, you're gonna throw him on Diggs. Okay, great. Now what? You gonna double up Diggs? Because you don't want him to get burned, right?
01 Jake: So, okay, maybe you double up Diggs. Now what? Who you putting on feeling? Like I think that's it, that middle game. Justin: I don't think we play a lot of like double, double, double. We are very man up or we're in a zone. Jake: Yeah, we're in a zone. I'm just very worried. I can just see Kirk Cousins looking at the tape, looking at it and just going, oh, I could just pick apart the middle of this field all day long. Justin: I watched the NFL film, the Showtime show, and saw the like. that high-cousins might not be back in. He makes mistakes. Jake: Yeah, he will. Justin: He makes mistakes. Like, badminton. You can get him to throw out an interception. You can get him to fumble. He's good. He's not elite. And you can. You can. Jake: This is gonna be I'm early and if we were talking about the schedule so I I think the Jets can win It's gonna be a tough one I think it's be high scoring when I high scoring like we've been playing but I think it'll be more in the Normal back and forth back and forth back and forth. It's just about I think it's dealing I think they have to go over a good grip game plan because those three guys get dig stealing and Rudolph It's like that generally is where we're, you know, these big tight ends, by the way, are the thing that they've looked at and they're saying that Is Jamal Adams a little, you know, he can't cover them because he's not big. He's not a tall guy. He's fast He's ferocious, but he's not tall. You get these big fucking tight ends. I can't wait to see what Gonk does I don't know. I'm really worried about that Again, I think for concert it over, we seem to be a very turnover team. This is a great thing that's happened this year. We're, you know, we're getting the ball, we're getting short fields. So I don't think this is so much about Sam this week. Interesting. I think this is more of like, can we stop those three guys and the running game and not and just play a very clean get these guys out? I think we play very aggressive sometimes on defense. Always trying to strip the ball always trying to go for the extra. I'd rather see it clean keep them into punts then And I think we can stick in the game. I don't know much about their defense I know they have a couple players, but you know I'd love to not be in a situation. I'd love to go back to like kind of being able to run the ball a little bit, make some breakaway plays. I think Jets can win. Let's call it 29-27 near Jets. Justin: Awesome, let's get married. Jake: And that's what I love. That's fun. Justin: Or let's just have them win the coin house and take the ball.
00 Justin: I don't care. I'm taking the ball and I'm going to win. Take the ball. And the girls picks it. Jake: Because if you look at this game, like you look where we are in the season, 3-3, and you kind of have this one home game, then you got, you know, seeing at the Bears. And then you got back to back like AFCs, right? You have Miami and then... Dolphins, or sort of Miami than Bills, then you're by. Like if you really, we're trying to like, if we could split one of these two, and I think this is not the harder game, I think the harder game is next week against the Bears. I think this is the winnable, because you're at home, you at least have the crowd in there. But next week's gonna be tough. They have a better defense, they have a better pass rush on the road. That's gonna be a tougher game, I think, personally. Bye. Then you come back, you kind of think we can beat the Bills. I think we can beat the Dolphins, a little revenge game. Justin: I don't know. What if it's Anderson? I don't know if it's Duran or something. I'm not trying to be playing Josh Allen. Jake: I would too. I'd like to be playing... I'm not trying to be Peterman. Oh, maybe one will get hurt and they'll put Peterman back again. Justin: I don't think Peterman will do it. I think the next step for Peterman is to be a cop. Jake: Pretty much. So anyway, I don't want to get into like... Good position record wise, but if we could just win one of these two I think we got two ones that are kind of winnable Then you got the buy and then you got to just roll your dice with the Patriots wherever they are at that point I love a buy going to the Patriots That's my favorite thing a little bit of healing a little bit of game planning and come back I like a buy before Patriots I want them to be banged up. I want us to be healing. I want them to come off of a tough game. Justin: I want us to... Yeah, I still know if like... I don't know if that extra time really helps you if you're playing well. Jake: Yeah, but we're not playing knockout football. We're still playing mistake football. Justin: No, it's not for a couple weeks, right? Right. So if we're rolling into that bye week, I'd rather knock out the dead by week and then have to have the fight to get stable. Jake: No, not with this, not with pie. Justin: I'll take the break after the pasta. Jake: No, I wanna, anyway. So, it, you can look it, yeah. All right, well we'll come back next week, regardless, we're going on the road to Chicago. Possibly we'll do a live Chicago show, possibly not. But we'll be there. Yeah, check Kingdom fans out in Chicago. Maybe come see us, we are, I am setting up a tailgate. I'm figuring out a tailgate. Yeah, we're gonna do a tailgate, cook, barbecue, the whole thing. Justin: Yeah, yeah Jake: All right, so we'll be back next week until then as always Justin Jake saying let's go chance
