20 Jake: Welcome to the JK&A podcast, longest running New York Jest podcast. My, name is a Jake and that is Justin. And we have not podcasted forever, but that doesn't, that's okay. So we could sit here and talk about the end of the season. We could talk about bowls being fired. could talk about. Adam Gace being hired. We could talk about Robert Kraft getting happy endings. We could talk about the Super Bowl Justin: We could talk about all that. Can we just talk about Robert Kraft getting happy endings? I guess it'll make me happy to talk about Robert Kraft Jake: It is the first time in a long time that it's just it's it's it's nice when the When the negative focus of the NFL that just focuses on some other team because it is a lot of the time is about us. Justin: It's usually in the AFC East by the way because the Pats have their fair share of shenanigans. They cheat and get caught all the time. A lot. And they win a lot of Super Bowls. They win a lot of Super Bowls. They get hand jibbers at spas. Yes, I guess maybe. Yeah, they are always in turmoil. I feel like they do this all the time. Nobody believes in us. No fucktards. We see you win all the time. We all believe you win. Jake: This is the plan. If I did, Robert Kraft did this intentionally. Very intentional. And to get caught intentionally. Of course. Because now we're going to do we're going to do one for the crafter. Justin: Let's get one for Robert Kraft. Rub one out for Kraft, we know. Jake: Let's get greased up and win for craft. They've won the Super Bowl. They've already won the next year. Justin: And if you take the shit the morning of the AFC Championship game, which Jake: All right, so we're going to move off of this. Justin: Yeah, I just want to have a little fun at his. A little from a Strad and Fyter. So this is what we should do. Jets are winning New York. Let's talk about that for like one, two minutes. Then we'll just talk I And our new staff two minutes, okay, you know these fucking crazy eye killer Yeah, and then we'll just go through the list of things that we got Jake: And we'll call it a wrap. All right, cool. Justin: And what we're looking forward to next year.
00 Jake: So you're winning, well, winning New York is the same as kind of the free agency thing. So why don't we just skip that and go right to the coaches? Because that's gonna be that number one person. That's about the winning New York. What? The winning New York is about the free agency signings and goings. Justin: Well, it's also about the fact that the Giants really fucked the last year up. Jake: I think in the last three years, they've kind of just made, maybe two years, they've kind of made just a galactic stupid decisions. And we were sitting here with our Giants friend, and you know what, we were talking with him, we were debating with him, it was funny. But then I realized, and I am this, he's a fanatic. He's a fan. He's a fan. Whatever they did, it was all the best moves. Four seconds before Odell got traded, if I had said. Do you need Odell to win? Oh yeah, this is the team, this is how we're gonna do it. We're gonna get a new quarterback this year. Odell will be there, will have the weapons and he's gonna win. And then they trade Odell and it's like, the best plan is to keep Eli and do it. Justin: It was great that we drafted Sykwan Barkley and not a quarterback last year because we didn't need one and we still don't. And yeah, you know, we're so much better off now than we were before. To say that you don't need a quarterback. Odell didn't bleed blue. Jake: Oh, is that what he said? He actually said those words. Oh, God. Well, he did. But he hasn't bleed blue in the last four years. He's been one of the most selfish people by every one of his antics. Justin: Yeah, but what a weapon. Jake: Yeah. Hey, I can't wait to see you. Justin: I throw more interceptions. Jake: You brought it up. You brought it up as a thing. The Jets schedule for next year. We have Steelers, Raiders. Um, Browns and who else coming to town? The Giants and the Cowboys. And the Cowboys all coming to town or we play them all? Justin: They're all coming to town, baby. That's amazing. We have prime time games next year. Oh yeah. One of those division games will be in prime time. Jake: Steelers game is a hundred percent. Justin: Steelers is a definite Sunday night game. Jake: No doubt about it. No doubt. No doubt. Justin: I am certain. And that Browns game is going to be a prime timer. Rematch. Let's get Darnold and Baker on the goddamn field and let's bring Odell back to New York and let's see that shit in prime time. Jake: That's right. In our new unis. Yep. Let's just skip over that. 4-4, they're announcing new uniforms. I guess there's been some rumors that there's other things being announced as well. You say it's out in the public. I do. But you're not going to say it on podcasts. Justin: So if you let me know, let's not. Let's just wait. Jake: But anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. Can't wait. That's awesome news. All right. Let's skip over that. Let's talk about our new coach. Justin: Gaze video. when during his press conference where his eyes are just going nuts and following a taco, whoever did that, the internet is just brilliant. The internet is forever and it's brutal. Fuck. What is that? Jake: I don't know. I will tell you, like, we can't get too much into it
04 Jake: because we don't have a ton of time to talk about all these things. I am, I'm not the most happy I've ever been with a coaching decision ever. I don't love the idea that, so for me, the negatives, I don't like someone who just came off of head coaching who is kind of bad, like to get a bad head coach. Okay, fine fine. Justin: I don't like crazy ass. a lot of positives. That's a win. God. That's a win. That Miami team. in his three years there. They made the playoffs. Yeah. And they were on track to make the playoffs last year. And they were on track to make the playoffs last year. And two years ago, they had to scrap all plans because Tannehill got hurt in the preseason and they had to drag Jay Cutler out of a booth. Coming out of a booth! It's not like he's... It's not like he got dealt the best cards down in Miami true, but then interesting enough Jake: He's up here, and he's not he doesn't get to cook his own to go shopping So it's so kegs is still that still the dude they both report up fine Which is interesting sometimes they make the coach report to the GM. It's fine. Yeah, you can both report to so much So and I'm you know I don't think he, I don't think you look at his track record and say, oh, like we can with other coaches make, Oh, this guy took this rookie quarterback and turned him in the greatest quarterback ever was. But you can, look at his record says he's taken some quarterbacks and worked with them. And he has, he has some quarterbacking on his resume, Like working with Peyton Manning. Justin: Well he worked with Peyton Manning. Jake: And Peyton Manning's positive on him. Justin: He got the most out of Brock Osweiler than anyone else did and made Brock Osweiler a lot of money. That contract that he signed with Euston was because he was under Gaess wins again. you a I., I Tannehill had his best season that first year that Gace was a head coach. We're kind of talking ourselves into this guy. And you have to. And because we're fans for the first time in a really long time. We hired a guy who has actually been a head coach before. Yes, because every every hire since. I- man, even before him, like, I don't think Parcels was the last guy that we hired that actually had a head coaching experience. Jake: Part- the other- other positives? He knows the AFSEs. Oh yeah! Another positive, he knows the Dolphins. Justin: And he knows the Pats, they beat the Pats. Jake: Right, so like, those are positives. The one thing, I mean, besides the crazy guy stuff, and he just- Justin: That might just be super intense.
00 Justin: Like, I'm intense. Jake: He is just not a talker. Well, I watched his press conference at the uh, at the combine. and he wore like a cap way down over his eyes. Good idea. It was almost like you don't want to see my crazy ass. Justin: Good idea. Wear sunglasses, dude. Jake: At night and day. Every time. All the time. Yeah, at night when you're sleeping. I would say the thing I wish that was in there is I wish I had seen like a... Because I feel like the path would have been better if you and then back up to head coach. Justin: Well you wouldn't want him as our OC. been like highly successful for two years as an OC Jake: Well that, you wouldn't have hired him, because... Yes we would have. Justin: Well you wouldn't have, as our offensive coordinator. Jake: No, I'm saying he goes down to offensive coordinator, we would have hired him back to head, we would have hired him as a head coach. Not with us, not offensive coordinator with us, with somebody else. Justin: Yeah, but what you're not getting is that that's two years from now and we will Jake: already have hired a coach. Oh yeah, yeah, no, I'm just saying like what I like in a history, I like the guy, I like them to go back down a little bit and learn more. Again, some of the coaches I think are better. They kind of bounced down and they took the time to write. Justin: I mean, that's what so like, um, top balls. I mean, he is the defensive coordinator for the box. That's right. And in two years under Arians where he thrives and he's working for his guy. And I can see him being brought him in and I can see Arians being like, I'm fucking old, I'm retiring in two years. Like this is going to be your team. Let's. Gradually make this your team. Jake: Yeah, I can totally see that. And I think Todd Bowles on a second shot might be better. Well, you're definitely gonna be better. You're gonna be, you're gonna be, you're gonna be, you're gonna be the thought of it. Justin: You never know. I don't think he'll ever get offense. Jake: Well, let's talk about defense. Justin: Okay, we got Greg Williams as our defensive coordinator and he's basically a head coach at defensive coordinator. Jake: I'm kind of. I think this is either gonna be one of the biggest clusterfucks on the planet or it could be really that could be really fun. Or it could be both of those things. Justin: I think he's it's so aggressive and we have... We have Jamal Adams. Oh man. And if Jamal Adams doesn't just turn into like... Troy Palamalo this year, which I think he's on pace to just be... I don't know like that to me Jamal Adams should be like all world best player on the planet this coming season Jake: He should be very good on defense. He should be very and then a couple free agency signings that we got Justin: I mean see jimos Lee. All right Well, we're gonna get to those when you look at the levels like we got studs on all three levels Studs and a guy who likes to play with these toys. Yeah, and he's gonna be aggressive. It's gonna be Jake: I mean, again, it's got to be these two sides playing well together.
02 Jake: It's got to be an offense that doesn't turn the ball over a ton. Because if if we have a good running game, we'll talk about that. And if we can have a good offensive line and we can put together drives, then that leaves that defense rested and they come out and they attack. And that's when they get the other team three and out. And then you get it back and then you score again. Justin: I was watching. It was on TV. The. a Browns game from last year. Oh yeah. So I was rewatching it, right? How could you rewatch that? I needed to see what happened. I'd rather just stick things in my eyes. First, I needed to see what happened, and second, I knew Greg Williams was coaching the defense, and I wanted to watch that. Oh, okay, that's not fun. So what happened was we were up, we were winning, and then all of a sudden... Like they went to Baker because we hurt, you know, again, we the Jets, maybe Cleveland to win like 22 Super Bowls and will be the ones that like injured Terat Taylor to get Baker into the his first. He was coming. He was coming in anyway, whatever. Just not that game. But what happened was like our offense was looking good and then Greg Williams made an adjustment, figured it out, and then we couldn't even get a first down. And I liked that. Not in the moment. Right. But I liked it rewatching it because I was like, oh, he figured us out. Right. And now we can't even move. He figured us out and we can't move. We were moving, now we can't. Right. Three and out, three and out, three and out, three and out. And I'm like, I know it's a rookie quarterback. I get it. And they have weapons. But we didn't do that to the rookie quarterback. Jake: And they have weapons. Well, no, we did it too. to Tyler Taylor, he couldn't move at all. Justin: Yeah, but then they brought him the rookie and the rookie lit us up. They weren't they just weren't prepared, which is just kind of stupid. Jake: But anyway, so again, I don't like the offensive coordinator coach. Justin: I hire. Jake: Do well, do well. Justin: Yeah, Logan's Logan's Dawa. Logan's he's been with Gates in a couple of different spots. I just think he's a loser. Jake: Really? Yeah, I don't like them. Wow. Alright, well let's talk about things we do want. Why don't we talk, why don't we go from the like least important signings up to the Justin: most important signings. Alright, I put these, I threw these in reverse order but let's do it. Let's talk about the ones that didn't sign. So Anthony Barr. Alright Anthony Barr, fuck you you fucking fuck. Jake: That was an interesting one. Like that was like all signed, all like you know kind of in the house. Justin: Here's my, here's my theory on Anthony Barr. Yeah. My theory on Anthony Barr is that he has an anxiety problem. And he came to New York as a free agent, got lured. Jake: Yeah. Justin: The money got put in front of him. Yep. He got real excited. Jake: Yep. Justin: Then he went home. Yep. And he had a panic attack. And he did. He kind of said it out loud. He stated, I got sick. I got nauseous. I got ill. And I think what happened was he thought to himself, oh, fuck, this is New York, like where people care. And there's a spotlight on me. And I'm out of my comfort zone. I've been playing in Minnesota for... four or five years now.
00 Justin: I'm comfortable there. I'm comfortable with that system. Jake: Weird theory. Fine. Justin: I think that that is a very. Why do you get sick? Jake: It doesn't matter. Anthony bars on our team. Yeah, goodbye. So far, so far. Justin: So we have a few a few signings that we did. Jake: What stupid ones like? Justin: No, no, no. Let's start way at the bottom here. OK, very few low value guys. Just a tight end that we're signing from Chicago. Daniel's Josh. inch. Something somebody who one of our coaches has some he's a he's a special teamer. Yep, great tight end guy He's barely gonna play on offense, but he's good on special teams apparently And a backup offensive lineman that will just add depth whatever right? We resigned Eric Tomlinson we resigned Henry Anderson, which I think was an under the radar good signing I think that's a good signing played really well last year We also re-signed Steve McClendon, who I also thought played pretty well and is a good veteran presence in that locker room. Never know, he might get cut, who knows. All right, then we tendered Robbie. He's not going anywhere. Nope, because no one's offering him anything. Nothing. Because they don't want to give up a second round pick just to sign him. Go ahead. Also, We have the right to match whatever anyone offers. I love that. So yeah, go ahead. Otherwise he's playing for us for 3 million bucks Josh Bellamy a wide receiver whatever and and it's just a dude Jameson Crowder though It's more interesting more interesting third down guys slot guys that kind of guy who can you know you have him on one slot and maybe like You know that stud running back that we got you motion him out of the backfield and he sits in the other slot and you're like Jake: Oh shit, who do I cover? I mean the the guy who haven't talked about yet. We're gonna talk about He changes everybody changes the game. He changes everybody on this thing Justin: I'm so excited. All right, we swapped out we swapped back to chandler cat and zaro's back We'll see we'll probably have a competition during the uh, some rookie. Whoa, it doesn't matter And then our dream comes true. Oh no, our dream is to have Brock the Cock and Trevor Simien on the same team. We have Seaman as our backup. Simien, Simien, Simien. We are dripping in Seaman, baby. We have Trevor Simien. Jake: What's his year? What's his like, how long has he been in? Justin: He's been in the league for... Four or five years now, he started about 25 games. He actually has a winning record as a starter, oddly enough. And I think that this is the perfect backup. He's at the perfect point in his career where he started enough games to have some experience, can come into a game and finish it and play, can win you a game if you need it, because he can, he's won. And he knows he's the backup. Jake: Did he work, so he was in Broncos. He was in Broncos. But he wasn't there when Gaze was there. That was Gaze, no. Justin: And last year he spent the season backing up Kirk Cousins in Minnesota. OK. So he's just traveling around. Been around. Whatever. $2 million. Sounds good to me.
00 Justin: Our quarterback, I pose the question to you. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Remember when, all right. So we got let's keep going. We got to let me know. Jake: Let's go. Let's go up. All right. We'll go. All right. Keep going. Justin: I pose that really. We signed a corner. Brian Poole by all accounts. This guy kind of sucks. Now it's a one year deal for like two, three million bucks. It's kind of a fill in. I think he's going to play the Buster screen roll. OK. Who's gone, by the way. Yeah, God. Colicchi assembly. I think this is a trade right? This was a trade with the Raiders seven because it was like a fifth and we got assembly and a sixth for a fifth something like that basically we traded down like 30 some odd maybe less 20 some odd spots in the draft and we got a All-Pro guard. Yeah. That works for me any day of the week. As long as he's good. A raid grader. Jake: I feel like last year we picked up a couple of guys we thought were going to be better than they were. Justin: This guy's pretty good. I remember him with the Ravens. He was on their Super Bowl team. He was a starter on that Super Bowl team. He was good. And he also was very good with the Raiders. I think he'll be very good for us as long as he stays healthy. I think that'll be a great sign in He also took it upon himself to reach out to Sam Darnold and tell him that he's his personal protector And he's got his back and all that and I love that shit. I love it. I have everything about it All right, let's get to two big ones Okay CJ Moseley, man, that's good. This is all world linebacker This dude next to Avery Williamson goodbye Darren Lee There's rumors they might keep him just for go play on the outside Yeah, cuz this dude's the real deal in the middle. This is like legit. I read some stat on him that he I wish I remembered it. It's all numbers. It's like he's the only player to have like so many like sacks, interceptions and forced fumbles. In within like a certain like first couple of years of his career type of thing. Right. High draft pick. Alabama. Got the pedigree played in Baltimore on that defense on a really damn good defense. Yeah, yeah, this is that middle linebacker that we need on that level we got Adams Mosley big cat and Jake: Number three in the third pick in the Justin: Every level you've got a dude, right? Maybe not the back level Jamal all the way back. Jake: Jamal is all the way back. Yeah, corners, I think are gonna be a problem again. Justin: Maybe, we'll see. Jake: Yeah. Justin: See how we address that. Jake: All right, let's get to- Leveon! Let's get to the pick. My man! I will say it is very- Justin: How much of a fan of Leveon Bell is this guy?
00 Jake: First of all, you are a super fan of him. You have- Justin: I have been on that bandwagon for five years. Jake: Primarily because he's been on your fantasy team for the last four years. Is he still on your fantasy team? team for six years. Six years or however long he's been in the league. So you so it is and it is weird because when someone is on your fantasy team especially in a keeper league which we're in a keeper league you know it's the other league not the JK League which is not a keeper league you definitely get you definitely start to like a guy because you you I mean I had Dak Prescott on my team a couple years ago and I still kind of like, you know, Justin: oh, I like rooting for them. Legitimately rooting for them. Jake: You really are rooting for the player. And so you get to know the player and you watch the player. Justin: And the Steelers are always on TV. Yes. Jake: So I am still in a little shock of this. When before it was happening, I was, I didn't want us to open up the bank and just give him like crazy, crazy money. And I was like, Looking at the deal, the length of the deal, the how much we give up, it's very incentive based, which is, great. I think we have a player that for the next probably three years, because I think the fourth year of that deal is probably a non-deal deal. We have a really, really... explosive player who can who will change the game. Justin: He does all of the things. Jake: If there's two big ifs, you have to put someone it has to be a creative person on the in the building the game plan and knowing how to use him because he's not a normal running back. He's he's he's not like you watch him play. He doesn't, you know, one of the big things is like he takes all these like steps and like, and digs in and out like most hit the hole and run. He doesn't, he delays himself. He's so good, but if you don't build things for him and use him correctly, he'll be useless. He'll be caught in the backfield. So that's the other thing is you have to put a line in front of him. If we just go with some string together bunch of schmoes like He won't be able to be people coming in. Justin: They'll talk. I don't know if that's true because the Steelers are always banged up Jake: on their offensive line, but they're never being told that's one of the worst offensive lines. Justin: Yeah, that's usually because they have a few good players on their line. Like their center and their right guard are really good. But the rest of them are just average guys, average dudes. The thing about the Steelers is they have Big Ben. They had Antonio had Antonio Brown. And Juju. And always another, well, always some other receiver too. Like there was always a second receiver that was also a weapon. And Lebian Bell became like the jack of all trades. Because he can catch like a receiver. He can run like a running back. Jake: He can make you miss and he can throw it. It hasn't They use him as I don't think so. No, really. I thought there's one play man. Does he make people miss? Justin: effortlessly effortlessly and he moves in slow motion and then boom
03 Jake: He's gone. If you go back to your not last year cuz girl he did not play last year, which is Again, we don't know if that's the greatest thing ever, and he's like rested up in his legs or whatever, and he's like nowhere on the tires, or if he lost a step because he literally got a year older but did not do anything to his body. Don't know, we'll find out. Justin: Yeah, we don't know if he trained or what he did. Jake: Apparently, he said he was ready to come back after week one. His goal was to sit out one week, and then it kind of... Justin: Right, and then he was going to come back with gait or something like that, and that didn't happen. But think about it this way. Think about this way. Imagine if instead of him just sitting out the year in the game in week one He tears his ACL. Right? It's the same thing Jake: Oh, if well, no, because ACL could be up to 12 months, but I see you're saying like he sits out and then we we sign him in the offseason and we take a chance. Justin: I mean look, if Le'Veon Bell played last year. Or it's more like the preseason. Yeah, in the preseason. Jake: Like in July of last year. Justin: Last year, in training camp. Right. First week. He takes a cut and boom, he tears his ACL and now he's out for the whole year. Right. Are you not going to sign him this year? Because he tore his ACL last year? No? I'd rather him just sit there and be healthy. Jake: He comes. He comes with baggage. He is a personality. He's already starting dropping bombs on his little quarterback, which I don't really love. Justin: He's totally willing to sit out. Jake: Yeah, he's a revus. He's a me-vus. But it's rare, as a Jetfan, and you've been a Jetfan Justin: longer than I have, but it's rare that we get. Jake: Not even Butcher, but this was the prize of this season. Like of all the people that people were trying to sign, I would say he was even ahead of Brown in some ways. This was the guy, people wanted, and again, Brown wasn't, Brown kinda made that happen. But Brown was a train. This was the signing that everybody, this was the courting ship. And we don't usually get them. Like this is not what usually happens to us. Again. Justin: Well, I think Mac did a... Jake: Did a good thing. We don't trade up for quarterbacks. We don't do well. He says this is Justin: This deal expires So if you think you have a better one Go sign it but this expires like you have to i'm giving you a timeline Like you have to sign it and he signed it like that day Yeah, because it was it was like hey, we're done. We're done here. We're not moving Sign the deal or it expires at the end of the day and it's funny because I guess it comes off of last year Jake: Going to the whole Kirk Cousins, you know, right? Justin: They didn't put that stake in the ground Jake: And we try to pay him more money than anybody else So it like you have these scars on your body as a Jets fan that like you've seen this happen where we don't get the guy And we normally just don't get the guy, that guy, or the guy that would change our world. So this is kind of super exciting. And it does. It does make the whole game. Justin: Oh, it changes the whole game. Jake: If nothing else. And again, we're all kind of, you know,
00 Jake: we have the theory of the window and the window's now open for four years. The window's open, baby. Until you have to pay, darn old, you know, $130, $50 million, $25, $30 million a year, guaranteed, or whatever. insanity that will be happening in that time period. Wait till, wait till, is Rogers up? No, Russell. Russell's up again. Next year. Again. Next year he's gonna be. You know, it'll be insane numbers. So, you do have this window. Justin: Can I ask you the question I asked you offline? Jake: Yeah, I know, because you like this question. It's not bad. Justin: Because when Nick Foles signed his deal with the Jags, it was four years, 88 million bucks. Right. And then it was like, oh, do we sign a running back like for that much money? That's a lot of money. So I asked you, I said, hey, when you look at it, actually. When you combine Lebion Bell and Sam Darnold, who are now tied at the hip, because they're both have four years left on their deals. Jake: Yeah, Darnold's is more four years. I'm sure that Bell's four years, I think. But Bell's, I think is. That fourth year has a lot of incentive stuff in it that's meant to be a cliff. But okay, go ahead. I don't know. I'm not a contract person. Go ahead. Get it. Four years. Justin: Foles, four years, 88. Darnold plus Bell, four years, about 88. I think it's like 86. Great. You want Darnold and Bell for the next four, not Nick Foles. Right. Sorry, I know he's a Super Bowl MVP and all. That's bullshit. it. That team was built the way it was built because they had a second year quarterback. Right, that's the whole point. You have a second year quarterback, you can go out and spend a whole fuck ton of money because the quarterback doesn't make anything. I mean, in this game of things. I know. He makes a lot of money. Jake: $30 million for four years guaranteed. Justin: It's a lot of money, I get it, but. In the scheme of things, as a starting caliber quarterback, he's well underpaid. Jake: This is the window. Justin: That's how you get Mosley. That's how you get Bell. That's how you get these free agents. That's how you... And we're still picking third in the fucking draft. Get used to this not being a thing where we're picking in the top 10. We're going to start winning games. Jake: This is window one. Window two is when you have to pay them and then you have to start... drafting good players. Justin: Yeah, that's when you have to. Jake: Then you have to draft skill position because you can't just like. You have to then do what the Patriots do. Justin: Which is get really good value guys in free agency, not go after the big names. Trade guys a year before you might actually think that you should. Like go against that intuition. And also, hate to say this, but Tom Brady. He makes that happen because if Tom Brady says the word he's the highest paid player in the league not anymore I mean, no, I mean all he would have to do is say I want to be the highest paid player in the league and they'd Make him the highest he intentionally intentionally knows and Takes less money because he knows he'll make it on the back end anyway Well, so I don't think he doesn't need it not every great tons of money
00 Jake: Yes millions and lots of money your millions my millions his money. I I agree and I think that's the rings He wants the ring. Justin: I hope Sammy wants the rings. Jake: Let's see. Let's see. Again, this is going to be for nothing else. And we'll have off season. We'll definitely talk about the draft. We'll have a draft episode. We'll have a post draft episode. Justin: There are some guys who need to get paid, like, well before Darnold, right? There's dudes like, you know, at some point, we have to make a decision on Leonard Williams. Jake: I think that decision is going to be made somewhere in this draft. I just don't. Justin: Well, I mean, it's this season is it. So like we make the decision next offseason. Right. At some point, like, remember, Jamal Adams is a year ahead of Darnold. Yeah, he's going to want a lot of money. Yep. He's going to be the highest paid safety ever. Probably. Jake: Well, he has to be good for the next two years and then we'll see. Justin: We'll have to. Yeah, but I think he's on the trajectory. Jake: Well, it's good. But it's gonna be if nothing else I Darnold kind of stepped through his things. In fact the games that Darnold didn't play. Because it's like I don't even I don't care. this. You know, the guy on the joystick, this highly talented guy. And then I think that's on the offense. Maybe there'll be some other, thes and. Justin: in the same like the the meaning he wasn't actually good anymore. Yeah. Cream Hunt is still really good so Jake: he gets the pass. I love the morality of that puppy. Anyway it'll be fun to watch. I'm excited. I'm again the the Darnold season two, you know, round two, Belle on the team. New uni's coming like this could be a kind of fun fun fun fun You know season to watch and to kind of be excited as a Jess fan It's nice to be excited finally as opposed to oh we're going back into fits by the way fits on the was it Justin: What do you sign dolphins? Yeah? Oh, we either start in QB Dude, he's you'll have started for all
19 Justin: at all three of the four Like, do we play him over James Winston? Like, he always does this. Jake: So many things too. Like, even the Bucks like doubling down on Winston. Like, wow. Man, well, just, I just don't understand. There's so many moves in the off season. I don't understand, but maybe we'll do, we'll talk about that in later episodes. All right. That's it for us. Justin: By the way, just one last one. Yeah, the Browns are like some sort of crazy odds to win the Super Bowl. Wish that there was a way to just bet against somehow because they're not winning a Super Bowl this year. No, that's not happening No, how about make the playoffs first? You know, you haven't been there in a while How about have a winning season? Yeah, I think it's they're gonna be fun to watch Jake: I can't wait to beat them. I can't wait for Greg Williams to know exactly what the fuck Baker make field is all about.
