00:16 Jake: Welcome to Jet Gaming Podcasts, longest running New York Jet Podcast in 2021. I'm Jake and joining me, 330... Five or six times in a row. I think it's 35 is Justin. How you doing? Just I think it's 36 You do I do that's what changed it Oh God you're right. It is cuz number 35 was geese closed. All right, so Exactly. Yeah. Goodbye. Look, look at I mean, so today is well today's the 21st. We have a new president in office and which is not what this podcast is about. But we also have a brand new coach and series of coaches for the New York Jets. How? What do you think? I think this is great. You know, we were talking about this particular coach, Robert Sala, and I think in our last episode when we were like, all right, who do we want? Like, what's interesting? This was one of the guys we thought was interesting. He's sort of reminiscent of Rex Ryan, if you will. He's a pretty brash. on sidelines at least pretty brash in your face defensive style of coach and got a lot out of the defense in San Francisco over the last couple of years has a history with that Seattle defense which you know did pretty good and came up under under Pete Carroll there and. In general, in these few interviews I've now seen with him and started to pay attention more to like, all right, what does this guy sound like? What does he, how does he carry himself? What does he, how does he speak? It's been interesting seeing the clips. He's very well spoken. He's very well like, oh, this is, this looks good. This is not, you know, the Adam Gace, like on day one. you know, staring at a taco meme on the internet, you know, that's not what this is not embarrassing right off the bat, you know, This could be embarrassing in six months. It's the Jets, right? It could always happen But it's not like day one embarrassment Everyone's laughing and knows that's a mistake and like you probably gonna have to fire that guy in a year or two That's what happened. So I'm interested in in now, you know, getting back to, all right, this guy's going to bring some fire, which I really liked with Rex, and, you know, is going to bring along for the ride.
03:04 Jake: Some, some, at least on the offensive side, from what I've seen, some, some pretty good coaching. So, you know, bringing over the offense or the offensive mentality of out of a Shanahan. Right? So, you know, thinking through like, who are these guys who are these offensive guys like from Shanham? Well, Shanham himself, his son, right? And then there's the La Floors, one of which we're going to have as an offensive coordinator. The other is Green Bay's head coach and Sean McVay is the other guy that you look at is like these are the guys like it's this crew. So if that's our offensive coaches is part of that crew those are good offenses like cool get with the quarterback let's let's get him better. We'll talk about that in a minute. But I'm excited about that. I mean, again, it's always exciting. New coach, Gates was not exciting. So this is like a plus thousand, right? This is great. I like how you say it's always exciting, except for Gates was not exciting. Yeah, he was like a bummer sauce. It was it was so I mean, it is just 100% different. So many things I love about this. First of all, I mean, again, we don't really know what happened in the back rooms, but because we weren't there. But the rumor was that the Johnson, the Johnson idiots were not part of this, right? That they were they were in the back room, they were not what, you know, as Joe Douglas pretty much driving the search that like, to me, that's the best, that's the best news I've heard all, you know, all year, that they didn't go that they got someone that is, again, a hot person, the guy we wanted. It's interesting that the one, two people that there's a who's the guy who went to the Falcons. Arthur Smith, that was the other guy I had, I had pinpointed like, that's a good candidate. So it's interesting is like, how many years ago was it that when when when they got was it when they got We got Gace. No, I think it was before that we were doing the same thing. It was like us and the Falcons both trying to get ahead. Yeah, it was it was their previous coach, I think we hired at the same time as Todd Bowles. So Bradley, right. And they hired Gus Bradley from defensive coordinator from the Seahawks, I believe. And I think it was Gus Bradley might have been a different guy. No, it's Quinn. Oh, Quinn, Gus Bradley's the other one, that other Seattle guy who went to coach Jacksonville. But yeah, it was like, oh, they went to a Super Bowl, you know, and we had Todd Bowles didn't make playoffs. Yeah. So anyway, I mean, this is just it was a funny thing. I was watching, you know, the the pieces fall and in the NFL, you know, there's there's sometimes a feeling I suggest that we never get the one guy, the really guy we want, we get kind of like the also ran guy And that felt that way with Gaze. Like, it never felt like that, that we got the guy we wanted.
06:03 Jake: This one feels like we got the guy we wanted. It feels like he's the right fit. And it just stinks of not having the Johnson twins around it. It really, it feels like a football guy went out and got another football guy. And not just like, we need to be the hot offensive coordinator guy anymore, right? That was chasing something. They went and got a good. . What we don't know if he's a good head coach yet, but a fired up head coach and I can't wait. I can't wait to watch him. Like I'm like super excited. I have not been excited. I've not been this excited about the Jets since that you drafted Sam Darnold. So we know that's a thing, but better than that, immediately it was either a lot. There's now a list of six or seven coaches coming with him or being hired. And some of them are real names. Like it's not just, you know, they don't know. I was trying to find the list. I couldn't find it. Damn it. I don't have the list. I was trying to find the list and they don't have them on the website yet. I have a feeling it's because they're not all hired. Yeah. Right. Because you have to go through the NFL's like Rooney Rules and all of that. So which I find a little like. Weird, a little, I mean, I understand why the Rooney rules exist. I just feel like, hey, if you're hiring a head coach, and he literally wants to bring an offensive coordinator with him, and that's part of why you're hiring the head coach. Like, you have to go through this charade of... interviewing other offensive coordinators before you can hire that offensive coordinator knowing that The people you're interviewing you're not gonna hire. It's kind of silly Yeah, so let's go. So I found a couple so we know about Michael for right? We know that floor we write so interesting a guy's worked with you know, I like that that that's good Like and we know the coaching tree is good What was the one from then there's Benton uh Why can't I get this guy's name oh John Benton also coming from He he's gonna be offensive line guy. They don't think they've picked up somebody from for defensive role yet, right? I haven't read I've read rumors If you remember the Dallas defensive coordinator from not this past season, but previous seasons with the prior regime in Dallas, his name was Chris Richard. He was a former coach in Seattle. They coached together. in Seattle and was a pretty hot prospect as a defensive coordinator for the Cowboys and then took a year off. So he's been thrown around as a name, as a defensive coordinator. We'll see how that goes. But I'm actually more interested in...
09:01 Jake: the offense. I know that defense is going to kind of take care of itself with this coach and he's going to bring a level of fire to that defense and I think I saw some science towards the end of the year of some guys coming around and like being better than they were at the beginning of the year. And then Miles Austin, formerly of Dallas, to be our receivers coach, wide receivers coach, kind of. Yeah, he was a. He was an interesting receiver, got a lot out of, you know, he was not like the most talented guy in the world, but he had some really good seasons. So that's kind of interesting. Again, what I like is that it started to come together very quickly, that other guys started to be attached to him, and you have that feeling that he's gonna bring talent around him. And it's just gonna be fun to watch, honestly. Like, that first press conference with Gace, like from that minute on, like I didn't wanna watch him, I didn't wanna watch him. The taco meme came out like in like 45 minutes. The internet was just like brutal. It was like, here, you suck. And maybe we never gave him a chance, but he proved on the field that he was terrible. So I'm super excited about this, but. Now this guy's just handed, you know, a two win team coming off back to back. I haven't been in the playoffs in 10 years. We're one of the worst playoff appearances in the last decade. So he's got a lot of work on. Have you read like some of the things from, you know, again, you read these things afterwards, but, and they're unnamed, unnamed AFC executives and unnamed NFL executives. The Jets actually, and this stuff written about them, it's like, well, they probably had the talent to be a five or six win team. Like, they just were coached so poorly that there was nothing there. There was nothing there. So, like, I mean, you saw the guys played hard, I think if they were. Coach better there'd be something and maybe a few injuries go one way or the other Case doesn't have a two win season. He has a five win season That's probably his ceiling as a coach at the end of the day, right? His ceilings probably six seven win whatever he did with the Dolphins. He had a much more talented team there Yeah, get stuff to work with there and you see it like the Dolphins won ten and six this year You know, and a very quick rebuild after he left. So that's the hope here is that they did all the things to get the capital, right? We have the draft capital. We have the money. We have the, like, the free agency money is there. And there's the ability to either. draft a lot of young talent and develop it properly or use that capital to go get somebody who is already established and plug and play that player into the system and make it work.
12:00 Jake: Right now there's a lot of smoke around. Deshaun Watson. Yeah, so that's the number one, obviously, the number one thing the head coach of the near jets takes over is the quarterback situation. It's not it's not like you walk in and you've got Rogers or breeze or Brady sitting there on your bench, like you've got you've got a question mark. And it it's it was my dream two years ago. Or I think I only got one year of this right? It was or maybe two drafts. It was literally you had two drafts of two drafts that there was not a question at quarterback. Now we're back question to quarterback. Here's the Jets. What are we going to do? Drafted the guy super high and it's three years. He's I don't think he's played a full season the entire time. He has not shown anything brilliant. He's progressed in some things, but. everybody that seems to be watching him says he still has the potential to be a good quarterback, but is it not right for the system? Is it not right for the Jets? Or is it not true and not going to happen? So he comes in with that and then you have this Sean Watson rumors. He wants out or is not having happy times with his current Texans. He is a top three guy. He's a game changing quarterback. He would come to a team and make that team better just by stepping on the field. There's no doubt. You look at his numbers, look at the stats, look at his percentages. I mean, he is. He is. Can you talk about that? Okay, sure. Just for a moment. Okay. I'm not so sure. You are, you are, I waffle. Yeah, you need to go look. You need to go look, actually look at the stats of his or your period. I don't need to look. I don't need to look at the stats. I get the stats. I know he led the league in passing. I understand all that. But it's not that. It's percentage completions. It's intercession ratio. All that's great. All that's great. All that's cool. His team still finished with the third worst record in the league this year. Yeah. So if he walks onto the Jets, is that a more talented team that he's walking onto? And is he making them that much better? I mean, in reality, like, did his are his stats there because they were losing by 30 in half the games they were playing? Because I feel like that's probably part of it. So like when you get down by 20. Well, that's on the quarterback too. Like, you can't just get down by 20. That means you went like three and out or had a couple turnovers early and the other team just stomped on you. And now you're in comeback mode and you're going to throw the ball. And that's going to happen. Okay. And what we're just let me talk because there's stats, right? Which are great and one of the key stats that I like to look at is wins wins and I don't necessarily think that Deshaun Watson stepping onto the Jets equals a Whole lot of more wins right away if you have and this is a big if
15:03 Jake: If you have to give up the farm to get them, it's a big game of like, wait, if we have to give up five draft picks, I don't know, man, that's five people that can play on our team. And we have a guy who could start at that position might not be good. Clearly, he's not as good as the Sean Watson. Okay, that's the choice, right? Like. Do you say to yourself, well, Sam Darnold's not ever going to be like a real good above average professional starting NFL quarterback. Deshaun Watson is. He's an above average, like maybe even top 10, maybe, starting quarterback in the NFL. Put him on the team and... Those other three starters that you could have drafted irrelevant, that'll fix itself over the course of time or two years, or his contract so friendly this year that you go out and you sign a bunch of free agents and front load the shit out of their contracts into this current year that we have the cap space and then back them out as Watson ramps up. I don't know. I just feel as though Sam Darnold was given one rookie season with Todd Bowles as his head coach and then two seasons with Adam Gace who makes people worse. So it's like none of that equals like a good place to like learn and grow. So it's like, you're freaking hysterical. Like, I waffle on this. This is why I am not the Jets GM because I would not be able to make this decision because Again, I don't know enough about like reality like is Sam good or not like really I know with my eye on your podcast saying Like literally week the last two weeks of the season saying Sam. John. Oh, that's not a good quarterback and never will be I have you on record saying that I know and it's like well Darn, wouldn't it be interesting to see what he could do in? I don't know a different offense or a different like and we saw that with Gates, but then it's like, well, this offense sucks anyway. Like it doesn't matter who's running this. This is crap. All right. Here, this is go back to Watson. So yes, obviously it's all about value, right? It's all about if you told me we could give away a six round pick and get Wilson, I'd say Absolutely. If you told me we have to give away four four ones like this year's and next year's ones, I'd say no, that's not worth it. Because that one player right doesn't get you from two to 10 wins. But with just some numbers, because you you're doing a little bit of recent, you know, you're looking at this one season. So Watson played two seasons, four seasons, right? He he didn't he didn't play a full his first. Yeah, he blew out his ACL. So 2018 2019 he the team went 11 5 and 10 and 10 and 5 in those two years. Right his his record. Okay, but those are winning seasons like those I mean, those are winning seasons.
18:02 Jake: Wait. and more. Wait, wait. Every talk. Three playoff games. eight comebacks, and 10 game-winning drives. Ten game-winning drives. All that stuff is so awesome, and I'm so in on it. It's all about the value, right? Like you said, if you have to give up all of this year's draft... What's the value? If I were... I mean, I'm a Jet fan, so I'm gonna do it the way I would wanna do it, which is to say... Here's how I would want to do it. I would wanna say, hey, guys... We'll give you this year's Seattle number one. We'll give you next year, both of them. You can have this year Seattle. Oh, too much. Just listen. And next year you can have them both. Cause basically what you did is in that way, right? That's legitimately trading your first round pick next year and Jamal Adams. I have. I have., I have to go through this. That's three number ones. And yes, we have four in two years. That's amazing. Because it's hard to have four number ones in two years. I think we give up what I would say is the one I'd give up. I've been here three teams that there are three teams that have this shit. Jamal Adams. So basically the two picks this year-. And I don't care which ones they are. Yes, the well, that's not true. Right. The number two pick is pretty is important. But it's more it's more valuable. and considering what next year's is, you could give up like less picks. But anyway, so let's say this, give back the Seattle picks, and then I would throw in a sum, a second or something. I don't think you three. I think three number ones is too much. That's it. I wouldn't just give one. I think it's just what's gonna have to. Let me know if you feel comfortable with that. I'll be right back. Thank you. Don't forget to share with everyone who's been doing this for so long. How much does Houston like fields? Do they like Sam Darnold? Is he worth something to them? I don't know. Yeah, I mean you have to get something back from him What is there is there a chance that that? Watson and goes up to the Jaguars that they do the same thing they need I think there's I think there's certainly a chance that they do it But they would have to trade that number one pick and then Lawrence is going to Houston So it's not as though like Trevor Lawrence falls in our laps because Jacksonville wants to show
21:00 Jake: lots and I don't think that happens. Maybe they do it. Maybe they're like, you know what, we have this first overall pick. We want a quarterback that has played in the league for four years and we see what he can do against real defenses. I'm gonna say no. screw that, we want the five years of the rookie and we'll build around him and we have these other picks and I mean, Jackson goes in the spot, they're in the pole position, they've got it. They're sitting there at number one, we fuck this up. Like this is where we should be sitting. We always do. All right, so again, to me, three number ones is too much. I would do no more than two number ones. I don't care what else you put on there, threes, twos, whatever, but I just think. more than two and I do I think Seattle overpaid for Jamal Adams? Absolutely to our advantage. So let's not add They lost in the first round in the playoffs and now they have to pay a safety like 20 and how much and do we have Any history of quarterbacks being traded? It's not it doesn't happen a lot like quarterbacks don't get traded very often No, the corollary here. I think is Like Drew Brees. Yeah, I mean, you have to go back that long. I mean, that was literally 15 years ago. Yeah, I mean, that's really like kind of how far you and he wasn't traded. Oh, you know, it's free. Then San Diego just sort of gave up on him. It's the worry I have with Sam Darnold by the way that like he's. and you give up on him and you do it just a little too early because he's young. Well, I think that's the great Sam Darnold argument is that, look, Drew Brees started, you know, again, he was a better quarterback, even when he started. But do you think, do you think, and this is the Sam Darnold argument, do you think that a quarterback who could play for the next 17 years? Right. Quarterbacks play longer and longer. We're seeing we're seeing them play longer and longer. Right. We're seeing Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, they're playing 20 years. So if you think he has another 17 years underneath his belt, do you think he, he can come into something? Or do you think he's an absolute flop? I don't think he's an absolute flop. I still think he's a he's a he has the talent to be the talent, physical, mental talent. I don't see anything wrong with his physical talent. I don't see anything wrong with his mental talent. You know, mistakes, yes. I don't see anything wrong with his, you know, ability to throw the ball. Like I never look at a ball, oh God, he just, he under threw that guy again, right? Can he throw a good ball? Yes. Can he throw it all over the field? Yes. I've seen everything you would want. Now it's consistently playing above a certain percentage. You can't have a great game and be like, look at that guy. And he had a game winning drive. And then the next game he throws four picks. Like that's the stuff you need to go away. The question is, can he can that can be coached out of him. And will he in for next 10 years
24:01 Jake: be great. What you don't see is like when he's on the field and you're watching the offense, you don't have a sense of that looks good, that looks confident that they're going to score. It's always like Shuffly, feet, scared, nervous. When's that interception coming? That's what I'm thinking when the offense is on the field. And that sucks. It's not the way I was feeling last year, though. I mean, I'm going back. But the last year, when he played those last five games, that's not the way I felt. I actually thought, oh, look, we have a chance. We can come out and score here. We actually are a team that can win. We named the 2020 season. That didn't happen. And there was no scoring. Like there was I get it scoring like the team barely scored a touchdown. Like I get it for what? 10 maybe. This year he threw four. Nine. Yeah, he played 13 games. It's not like he didn't play. Like you can't throw that out there like, oh, he was injured half the season. No, he missed three games and he played in half of the others. So like he played through for less than 10 touchdowns. Yeah. That's true weeks for some guys. Yep. I hear you. It's it's so that's a problem. It is. Can it be solved? Can it be solved by a coach by three years? Three years of like. You've been starting for three years. It's a lot to be like, man, is this guy going to turn around or is he just a game manager? Because maybe he's just a game manager and that's what you got. You got a game manager and then you got to build the other stuff around him. Then you got to actually have a running game like a real one. You have to try and you have to run the wallet for 150 yards every game and control the fucking line of scrimmage and the. ball in the time possession, just throw and you need to throw and then hit them deep once in a while. Like that's, you know, watch Mark Sanchez be successful. He was doing some simple shit. Yeah. And I think the worst part is you look at it, what you want to see is is a little bit better. And if these stats last year or this year 2020 were better than 2019, you'd be like, okay, there's a movement upwards, right? But almost everything went down. Yeah, everything. And when you watched this last week of games, right? Of the playoff games that were just, again, this last week, the division round, then you're looking at the AFC matchups and you're like, oh, Mahomes versus Mayfield. Oh, Josh Allen versus Lamar. Shit. We could have drafted. Three of those four guys. Yep. And we chose Darnold who has regressed. Josh Allen has, shit, he's in the MVP conversation. Mahomes is probably the best player in the league at this point and could be the MVP every year if they chose to do that. Lamar, you know how I feel about Lamar. He's gonna fall down pretty quickly, I think.
27:02 Jake: But Baker looks legit, you know? Like, I was legit. watching that game, I'm like, fuck, Cleveland's going to win. Like Baker's going to bring them down the field and score. And Chad Henny didn't make the play he made Chad Henny like, and they actually get picked that up on fourth down. I think Cleveland wins. Yeah, but they didn't. I mean, yeah, but I'm saying like if that was like Donald with the ball, I wouldn't feel confident. You know, Josh Allen with the ball, I'm like, they're going to score. after after last year, no, but the year before when when he came on the field and those again, I I know it's hard because it's last year versus the year before, but the last the year before when he came on the field and we had the ball, I was like he's going to go down there and score. I did trust in him. I did think that he was a good quarterback. So it's not, you know, is it a regression year? Is it a COVID thing is it no training camp is it terrible coaching is it terrible offensive scheme which we just you can see with your eyes like that's a real thing we can see how terrible it was. Was it a talentless team half the team on like out half the time your your weapons he never had a full set of weapons and then he had some of his weapons to just got worse i mean. Herndon. How many drops did you watch her? How many fumbles did hern did have? Like fumbles, how many fumbles did tight ends usually have? Like I had three this season. Like it was ridiculous. Like this guy fumbled the ball. He was bad. They didn't have, they didn't have their, really any of their like weapons on the field together at any. moment until late in the seasons. That doesn't help, right? People don't have time to gel. And, you know, no, no offseason. That hurts. Every time Bectin got hurt, which happened, by the way, often, it was very noticeable. Like, it was very noticeable. Oh, shit. Bectin's down the field. You could tell. the pocket would just collapse. There's just nowhere to go. So that's a big thing. It's why I'm very, very much on the let's go draft that tackle out of Oregon. Let's have the best two tackles in the league for the next 15 years. That works for me. I don't care who the quarterback is at that point, because we can do anything. Well, I mean, that's a little bit, but you get that line to the point where it's like, you're protected. Well, that's what second means a lot. Yeah, yeah. And you look and again, but it's a quarterback league. Now it's a passing league. It's a, you know, golf and Ray and Rogers and Brady and driver. But look at who they're lined like Aaron Rodgers has the best left tackle in the league has for the last number of years. You know, by the way, like... homes two years before they, two or three years before they drafted homes, they had the number one overall pick and they dropped the left tackle and he's still their starter. It's like these are big pieces. Remember Parcells, that's where he would
30:01 Jake: build. Let's start there. The best coach I've seen on the Jets ever. So like when he's like, that's where to build I'm like, fuck yeah, let's build there. I mean, I know, I know that was 20 something years ago, but I think that I think it still works. Rex versus Parcells. Parcells is far better than Rex. I think he was an overall coach in the history of coaching. I don't know if on the Jets he was. I think I think Rex had more success. with his, in their time frame of being a head coach of the Jets. The thing is, Parcells actually set the Jets up for about 10 to 12 years. With his draft bang, right? With everything that he did, like from the very start, it was like, we were actually like, that went into the Rex. Like... Rex was the tail... the tuna like, you know, team kind of. If you look at it, right, those guys that were drafted by tuna towards the end were still on the team when Rex took it over. So that's a big deal. That cannot be said. Anyone who's drafted under Rex is not on the team anymore. I'm looking at the records. Definitely had, I mean, to think that we had a 12 and 4 season, like, what? That was a backup quarterback named Vince DiGardi. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. It was the best season the Jets ever had in the history of the book. Yeah, and they went to the championship game and they were winning at halftime and they should have beaten Denver, but John Elway was too good. And Terrell Davis was really too good. But Ryan brought us to the championship games twice. Two years ago. You know what happened? You know what? That 99 year, the year after, was probably the best coaching job I've ever seen by a Jets head coach because that was the year that we were gonna be fucking awesome. But Vinnie blew out his Achilles in the first game. You were there. I was there. Tom Tupa came in and threw a touchdown. But they went through, I think they went through like a six game losing streak trying to figure out who's going to be the quarterback of this team until they settled on Ray Lucas and turned it around to, I think, go eight and eight or like seven and nine or something like that. And 97 something like that. Yeah. Or no, 99B. Oh, 99, they went 8 and 8. So like, that's a great coaching job. Hey, you lost a real quarterback, and now you have to play with Ray Lucas, who's not a real quarterback. He's Taysom Hill. You have to win with Taysom Hill, right? That's how good Sean Payton is. He wins with Taysom Hill. So if there's one thing that we can I'm just looking now at the bounce back years So the coat tight year to the parcels we went to nine and seven, right? I'm looking at I'm looking at changes
33:00 Jake: You know year changes from coaches parcels that grow. I don't know if that's really that big of a deal I'm saying Edwards four and twelve to next year man genie ten and six. Yeah, right. Okay A man genie nine and seven, but then see, that's the thing. Man genie ended nine and seven and then Ryan picked up. That was a good team. They were eight and three. Here again, wait. Ryan, four and 12. Next year, Bulls, 10 and six. Bulls, four and 12. Next year. Gaze seven and nine and we think he's probably one of the worst head coaches that's ever stepped foot on the on the field So I think there's some optimism to say that you know I've seen I just showed you three in the history in the last 20 years where the next guy in can take a For win team. I don't know if we were a two in team, but a two-win team and turn them into an eight, nine-win team. Like, is there, that seems like a possibility. It seems like there's history to go back and say, yes, the new coach can come in, can take something and make them into something else. Again, those were done with Gino Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick and, you know, whatever. Sanchez, I mean, the people, we don't look back and go, oh yeah, they were the greatest quarterbacks ever to live. Yeah, but how good was that offensive line on the best good on direct? I mean, you had Hall of Famers on that line. Legit. You had Deber Keshaw Ferguson, Alan Fannica, Nick Mangold. Holy shit. Run behind that left side. OK, let's go to the right. Brandon Moore. Holy fuck. Are you kidding me? Damian Woody on the right. Oh my God. I mean, that's like those are like that's five Pro Bowlers. And one like Hall of Famer there and two potential Hall of Famers there like you're really talking about a great offensive line With Thomas Jones running for like 1,400 yards behind it. So the other thing the thing about is like rack stack rank Darnold like what you've seen and a little bit of what you think his potential is against The other quarterbacks like do I think that Darnold has a higher, you know ceiling than, let's say, Macau. Yes, yes I do. Do I think he has a higher ceiling than Fitzpatrick? Yes, yes I do. Do I think he has a higher ceiling than Geno Smith? Yes, yes I do. Mark Sanchez? Yes, yes, I think he has a higher ceiling. a more basic talent in him than Marc Sanchez ever did. So you would go, okay, well, that's the last five quarterbacks to play for the Jets or start, you know, major starters. So is there something to stay to staying with him and putting all the talent around him and getting my, I might argue with you about Fitzpatrick. Yeah, I know. He's been in the league for 15 years. I know he's never like, you know, won anything anything but There's something to be said about a guy who just You can't get rid of him like he's that good. He's actually in play
36:03 Jake: He's herpes. Guess what though if the Dolphins would have started him all year. They would have made the playoffs They probably would have won one more game. Yeah So there's that. Yeah, I'll say yeah. Okay. I haven't seen enough out of Darnell to say he's better than Fitzpatrick who's been in the league for like, I said potential. No, no, not what you've seen, but potential potentially. Sure. Absolutely. I mean, McCon. Yeah, of course, you know, Sanchez. Sure. Of course, I didn't look at Fitzpatrick and say he has the potential to be better. I didn't look at my account and say he has the potential to be better. Gino we knew was bad. Sanchez, we thought had potential. But then you could, you know, though, I thought Gino could have been way better. It like he had an arm, like there was stuff there. It just never materialized. But and then yeah, so I look back and obviously had far for a year, like Pennington, you know, testiverty, like, I still think that that Darnold, I guess I'm convincing myself, I still think that they should keep going with Darnold. Because I don't think the pick, you know, if we're not landing the game changer of the pick for the, that will change the Jets forever. I think there is, there is upside still left in Darnold and... And I think you have a window. You have a bigger window now. Like you have a you have a next, let's say they gave him a five year thanks. He probably has like a two or three year window. They give him next year, no matter what he does next year, he's safe. We know that Gace was terrible and they let him go for two years. So you have three years. And you can start off with one guy and next year end up with another guy and go ahead. So anyway, I like the five year because it ties him to Joe Douglas. Yeah. Well, that's that's the beauty of this now is that this that it is Joe Douglas's world. We just have to trust him. I don't know what the two of them now because they're there because it was like six years and now it's one year into Joe. Okay, so you both you guys have five years together. That's right. And we either fire you both in your swimming with the two of you. Yeah. And you picked them. That's the other thing. Yeah. It's your guy who came in and they're like, here's this gaze character. He's like, oh, God, don't forget it. They Douglas came in and they said, here's the Sam Darnold. Here's this number three overall pick that you can't dump right now in your first year. Sorry, dude, like. This is our franchise quarterback. Well, now he's been here for three years and a year, a full year of Joe Douglas having seen what's going on. It's up to him. I mean, this is not his guy. That's what we've always said. It's like, this Mac made this pick. Right. Not Joe Douglas. But if you think you have five years, you know you have another shot or two to pick a quarterback. Again, we don't, the number two is now. You have it right now. You have it next year too. Yeah, you have two picks next year. Yeah, you do. You have two number one picks next year. Yeah, but you don't want to waste. You don't want to do that. You'd rather do it now.
39:00 Jake: Why? Because then you put the talent around them next year with the two more picks. No, you do it the other way around. You make the team and then you just quarterback your next pick. No, then you confuse things. What if Sam looks great? That he's great. Well, what if he doesn't look great? What if he looks like, I don't know. Two picks. You have two picks in the next. You have to pick. You have the question mark going into next year again. Well, I don't think you do because this year is a con. This is a, he's on his fourth year. So we can pick up a fifth year option, but basically you have to sign him next year. This year you don't have to do anything. You don't actually have to do anything with Sam this year. You don't have to do anything next year either. You just become a free agent and then you tag him. Like you don't have to do a thing. Well, so I'm saying but you're letting him go. It's the Joe Flacco move. It's the prune yourself, bro. You haven't done anything. I think it's I think it's a good it's a good strategy. You put tons of talent on the team. You have a ton of picks. You have ton of stuff. You put everything around him. You got your first year head coach and then. Next year, that line, if you put it all on the line, is still there for the next quarterback. If Sam fucks the duck again, by the way, we'd be picking in the top 10 again. We know in the top 10 you can pick one of five quarterbacks that are gonna be good. Not gonna be good. Maybe gonna be good. Maybe, but it's not the number two guy always. It's not the number one guy always. It's sometimes the number 10 guy. The 12th, the 28th. As I keep pointing out, it's like the 2012 draft. Hey, Andrew Luck went first overall and RG3 went second overall. That's great. And then there were other guys in the first round, if I recall, like Tana Hill and maybe Christian Ponder, I think. And maybe even like, oh, I know the Browns drafted one. I can't remember which one, but not a good one. And then in the second round, Nick Foles was drafted. He won a Super Bowl MVP. And in the third round, Russell Wilson was drafted. And he also has won a Super Bowl MVP. So like, yeah, this shit doesn't actually work out as planned sometimes. Like after year one and two, yeah, Andrew Luck and RG3 looked like the shit. But after four years. Where'd it look? And now, looking back eight years ago, it's like, well, now what? R3 is a backup, and Andrew Lux retired. So Douglas did last year's draft, right? 100%. Yeah, that was his draft. Okay. So looking back on it, it's not actually- It was a decent draft, actually. Name the names, and I'll tell you. All right. So just going back, I'm looking at one, but okay, Becton. Uh, good pick, but I'm worried about his longevity because he did. He was out a lot. I mean, just he missed. He missed time. Yeah. Um, on the field, he was, he was better than the other guys are drafted. Maybe that's true. Mims. It's like he has talent. Yeah. It looks like he has talent. Ashton Davis safety. He got injured. So we'll see. Zabari Zenuga defensive end. Yeah, he was on the field towards the end of the air.
42:03 Jake: Michael Perrine. P. Ryan didn't look great to me. Okay, this is the one that I'm kind of like in the fourth round picking Morgan and then never to put him on the fucking field. Like put him on the field. You pick a guy in the fourth round, a quarterback. Why didn't that guy hit the field when you have Testiverde there? I don't get that. When you have who there? Testa Bird? Not Testa Bird, sorry. Joe Flacco? When you're fucking Flacco there, why would you not put this kid out there? I can't tell you the answer to that. Losing season, you have a quarterback you drafted. He's probably awful, that's why. Okay, but then don't draft a fourth quarterback. Don't draft a quarterback in the fourth quarter ever. Like that's stupid, and not do anything with him. Because now that guy's not gonna go anywhere. All right, Cameron Clark, tackle. Don't know who that is. Yeah, he picked him up in the fourth round. Bryce Hall corner. So he I think can be decent. Like he was starting. I think he started the last four or five games and looked pretty good. Three games. No, he played eight games. One interception was this big. Yeah, he's number 37. So when you're watching like if you noticed like number 37, he's not bad. Actually, I thought he. pretty decent. And then Braden man punter. Punter was great. It's good pick. He was good. Hey, that punter will be there for a while. He's a good punter. He actually he's a good tackler too. Yes, he did. He did that one tackle. He fucked up our winning two games. All right, so but I don't, I don't like it. You're not gonna know you're not gonna know about that. Yeah, you're not going to know about that. You're not going to know about the safety, the corner, or the tackle, those middle round guys for another year or two. I think Davis is a starter next year for them at safety next to May. And I think Hall is also a starter for them next year at corners. So like... Those are two starters drafted in the middle rounds. They will start. Becton will start. That's three starters. Mims will start. Mims will start. That's four. The puncher's technically starting. That's five. Hey, now we just drafted five starters. That's not bad. No, that's not bad. Okay, back to 2018 with Darnold Shepherd, Herndon Nickerson. Fudacasi and Cannon. It's not looking as good as it did when we... I mean, you start with starters. Darnold's a starter there, right? Fudacasi's a starter. He plays. Yeah. Herndon. Herndon, well, whatever. What were the other names? No. Shepherd. Yeah. Nathan Shepherd's a big part of the defensive line. We had 4.5, oh is this this year? I can't tell. And then cannon is gone. The cannon's gone, but like other than that, like, oh, those two of those guys are big part of the offensive line, or the defensive line. But are they at where they were drafted? No.
45:01 Jake: They were drafted in the third round. Like, what do you want from an inside lineman in the third round? You want them to still be in the league four years later. That's actually what you want. Alright, nice draft. Oh, number one, Darren Lee. Ugh. Ugh. Oh, actually, Akenberg. Remember that guy? Yeah, I remember you were. You really wanted him to play. I did. No, I was petty. It was the one I really wanted. Really, both of you really wanted to see both those losers. All right. Want to do want to do some playoff discussion here? Let's talk about the car. All right. Cool. playoffs playoffs. You put it in your like surprises, I can be honest. I have not been surprised yet by. Well, go back two weeks. Go back. Go back. Well, I mean, I mean, week one, I mean, I mean, week one, like. Nothing really super surprising, like maybe Cleveland being Pittsburgh and the way that went down, perhaps was surprising, but. Rams beating Seahawks in the wildcard was a little surprising. That's not that surprising to me.b And then I thought that the, and the Browns beating the Steelers. That was kind of shocking like, oh, the Steelers wait, you guys were like 11 and no, you just fell apart. And they just played them. Yeah, we did not pick that one. So that one was shocking to me. And those two games, everything else kind of felt, I felt the Titans had a chance and they did to try to beat the Ravens, but they just couldn't pull it out in the divisional round. Um, shockers. No Packers beating Rams. No. I wasn't shocked by any of this. It was just Kansas with the injury to my homes. Otherwise, Kansas City would have put up 40 points on Cleveland. I think Bucks beating the Saints at home was was something like it was a great matchup, but I, I expected I expected Drew Brees and the Saints to to beat that team. Done and dusted. Drew Brees is done and dusted. He's done. He's got to retire. No, I mean, I looked at that and was like, Brady ain't losing to the same team three times in one year. That's not happening. No chance. So can we do the bell bell check? Who makes a team better? Bell bell check or Tom Brady? I mean, we could do that. I mean, I still argue that it's Bill Belichick personally. I mean, Tampa has a lot. And that's an all Star team. That's an all-star team. When you look at it, it's like, come on. They put a lot of fun there. They're everywhere around him. Yeah, you have Mike Evans and Godwin already here. And then you just snagged Antonio Brown off the street and you got running back and you drafted a left tackle. They're not too shabby on defense. That's what he's good at. Very good at it. He's exotic. Tim's a good team. So like you put Tom Brady on it. Yeah, they're gonna be better than if they have James Winston and then
48:00 Jake: Other guys are going to want to go there, and that's part of it, too. Like bro, you're gonna live with me. You're gonna come live with me and I'm gonna handle you on the field. I was a little shocked that Baltimore couldn't put up more than three points. But then again, I've been saying it for a while about Lamar. He's not gonna win. Because in the playoffs, you also were a huge Lamar fan when he was trying two years ago. Yes, you were. Yes, you absolutely. Well, I know if you rewind this tape and you could say what I may have said was he's dynamic and hard to stop. But someone's going to figure out exactly how to stop them. And when they do, it's kind of over for him. Because as soon as he slows down the hair, if he gets nicked up, hurts a knee, he can't throw like RG3 could throw. He's a better runner. That's cool. But he like, you saw it like you make him stand there and throw the ball. You get up by two scores against him. It's not pretty. It's not. It just isn't. It's all smoke and mirrors when he's throwing the ball because guys are wide open because there's 10 guys in the box. And honestly, the bills are for real. It's kind of scary. They're actually a real team. They're awesome. They're a good defense. They're a good offense. They got the quarterback that's like hit it in stride. Got a great throwing game. Third in the league. That's it's it's I'm I'm excited for I guess it is Sunday. I'm excited for Sunday I love this is the act I think the better of all the games because you really have like in the wild card you sometimes have a good against a bad You really have the best against the best in this thing even again the Super Bowl You don't really have the best against the best you have the best for me, but there could be a team in the AFC that's better. Like I actually think this this Casey Bill's game is the Super Bowl. Like that's the Super Bowl. Those are the two best teams hottest. I mean, I hope my home's ways just because I don't think that's a fair fight if he doesn't read. But you know, I mean, you just know that someone's making a phone call. Like, you know, that whole concussion protocol thing. Yeah. We're gonna ignore that this week because and a miracle's gonna happen because. If he doesn't play, that game is a completely different game. Or do they say we're good enough to win without him and we're going to save him for... Hell no. You don't do that in the playoffs. No, no, no, no. You do your best to get his ass out on the field.
51:00 Jake: So anyway, let's talk about it. So let's talk about the first one. Let's talk about the, so Packers at home against the box. Um, pretty, I mean, first of all, a championship game played in Lambeau field in the winter. I mean, that's just us just fun. Anyway, like you just watch that game because it's a championship game. And then what a matchup and some of we could never see, I guess we could see it before, but not in the playoffs, not in the states. And we've, they never played in the Super Bowl. So this is it. this is it, right? So seeing Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers go head to head is is kind of just amazing and fun and amazing. And, and it's kind of like, you know, like the first half of Tom Brady's career, where we would always see him and Peyton Manning in the playoffs. Yeah, just such a joy of like, man, let's watch this because this is awesome. Like, you know, this is reminiscent of that. It's like, oh, he just played Drew Brees in the playoffs. Oh, he's about to go play Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. Like we never got to see this because he was always in the AFC. And it's like, wow, this is cool. Like he's in the NFC now so he can take on these teams and like the in the. And if the championship came, for example, you know, it's really cool. So what we used to say, or used to say, there was the theory of, if you had two great teams or two teams up against each other in the playoffs, you look at two things and you match them up against each other and you say which one is better, right? Because they both have talent. They both have great, greatest quarterbacks, goats across the board. There's not any home field, maybe okay, that's a thing. But you know, Tom Brady has proven he can go play anywhere and win a game. So you say quarterback and head coach against quarterback and head coach. Which do you like better? It's a good matchup. Man, it's a good matchup. I think you have to give it to the Bucks. Like I think so too. I think Aarons is a better coach than Matt before. More experience, more wins. Just I think he's a better coach. And I, sorry. There is no one better than Tom Brady. Justin: Until you dethrone him. Jake: He's the greatest. And yes, do I think right now playing on the field, do I think Aaron Rodgers is a better quarterback than Tom Brady? Yes, I actually do. Over the history of time? No. I mean, then he does not match up. But right this minute, when... Tom Brady takes the field against Aaron Rodgers. I think Aaron Rodgers has more talent and physical talent right now than Tom Brady does just because of his age. I think Tom Brady four years ago would crush Aaron Rodgers, but Aaron Rodgers is so elite. The only reason he's not the greatest of all time is because you have Tom Brady sitting there. And Peyton Manning. He's had a couple guys play during his era that were just a little bit... ahead of him. But you right but you can't you can't match up a one Super Bowl win with a six like it's just like it's not it's not it and and the appearances even like hey how is this Aaron Rodgers first home championship game right right like really crazy you've been in the league
54:06 Jake: for a while like Really? Okay. This is what? Eighteenth chan- fourteenth championship game that- that- that Tom Brady's played in? Tom Brady's fourteenth championship game. Championship game? It's absurd. He's also been in the NFC for one season and he's made the NFC championship game. So it's like, hey, all you who've never made the NFC championship game. I've been here for one year and I've done it. So cool. I mean again statistically Aaron Rodgers is a better quarterback. Just sure absolutely. Even the eyes just like just watch them. Aaron Rodgers looks better. Especially this year. Brady looks a little weird like some of the throws he's making. I don't know if he's on the same page. You've been still with some of these guys, but Shit, they're in the title game and well, I picked them to make the Super Bowl and they're getting points. So I may as well pick them here. I'm gonna pick Tampa. Okay, they're getting three by the way on the road. I've heard things at three o'clock. I want the Packers to win just because I kind of think I kind of don't want Tom Brady to do better anymore. Like come on, even if he's not, it's still like the Tom Brady legacy. I still have leftover butt hurt from, you know, however many years. So... I kind of want the Packers to win, but I'm definitely taking the bucks and the points like because I just you just have to I mean again betting against this guy is stupid. So you get you give Tom Brady points in the playoffs. Okay, yes, please. Every time I'll take that every single time. And again, I think the coaching staff and we'll see I mean, that should just be that. These are two these are two amazing, amazing games. And I just let's take a second to this is this is after COVID. Like this is in a world we didn't even think we predicted many times that there would be no football. They'd have two games that have to shut it down. I think hats off to everybody players to everybody for making this happen and safely. And with great protocols and all that, I'm like, I'm still I'm still extremely thankful that I'm sitting here, you know, talking to you about two amazing games when so much of this world is shut down. And they did it the NFL, I think, not a good job. They did a really good job. And they've had they've had crowds in these stadiums. And yeah. I haven't heard anything about it, so seemingly it's been okay. Also, by the way, the Super Bowl's in Tampa. So wouldn't it be like just the thing for Tom Brady to actually play the home Super Bowl? Oh, that's why you know Bucks aren't winning, because that's a curse. It's never happened. I know it is, but wouldn't it be the thing for him to be the guy to do it? To get his seventh? and to set another record of something. To just think that no one else has ever done. Like, yes, he can just do that, right? Like add it to the list of shit that everyone wants to do. And he's the only one who's ever done. Yeah, I totally agree. I cannot wait for these games. The only thing is they start to wait. I like games for one. Let's get on.
57:00 Jake: Let's go on to the... No, the second one's great. Let's do this. So Kansas City is hosting. Buffalo, Kansas City is favored by three. We think Patrick Mahomes is going to play. We aren't sure yet. It is Thursday and nothing is known. He's still in the protocol. So my bet is he will play. Now, if we did the whole game of, you know, who's got the better coach plus quarterback? I think the answer is Kansas City every time here, right? You got Patrick Mahomes, who's the best quarterback in the league right now. Yep. Hands down, right? No arguments there. Not an. And Andy Reed is one of the best coaches ever. So and now that he's got his Super Bowl, we really can stamp that and say, yeah, Andy Reed is one of the best coaches ever. So yeah, they win that matchup. Kansas City of quarterback plus coach. But man, Buffalo, those bills are so hot right now. They got some going man those bills and. Josh Allen something he's got a thing just like my homes has it. Allen has it also. Last team with the ball wins this game. Calling that now. Last team with the ball wins this game. I'm betting on Buffalo to win the game because I did pick Tampa Buffalo to make the Super Bowl. I may as well stick with that. And I think it'd be fun to have Buffalo in the Super Bowl. I got a bunch of friends who were Bills fans. They are a New York team. I have mentioned this many times on this podcast that have quite a soft spot for the bills in my heart and it will give me the ability to really root fucking hard in the Super Bowl for somebody. Right. Yeah, that's true. I would, I mean, I did pick Kansas City to go back and win again in the Super Bowl, so it's, I don't, but fine. But whatever. I think the thing is this, obviously you just have two great teams, you have talent all around. I think the Kansas City Chiefs is a more talented team overall. And they should win this game. But it really is about Mahomes. And not just he starts, but can he play at his level? But I want to root for the bills for all the reasons you said I went to school in upstate New York I started learning to become a fan of of the NFL football by watching them lose for four suitables So while being in New York, so there is a little I'm not like I don't like them But I don't hate them like I hate the Patriots so I can kind of like they're I can kind of root for them They've never won the Super Bowl. They've never won the Super Bowl. It's been, they have that history of the four losses. So it's kind of, you know, it'd be fun to watch them in the Super Bowl. I am going to pick them. And seriously though, Bill's Mafia is awesome. I'm picking the Bills with my heart. Here's my one concern. And I think I've said this about Alan all the time. And I say it when we play him. So, and I notice it every time I watch him and maybe I'm just, I'm biased to my own, my own thing.
1:00:00 Jake: He has Two to three times a game, he's going to give up the ball, either through some bonehead run in a fumble or something. He just does it. He hangs on the ball a lot. He likes to scramble around. He doesn't, and he sometimes just throws bonehead interceptions. You know, Mahomes doesn't. He doesn't throw bonehead in a recession. He just doesn't. Fucking Alan does. But it's whether you get the ball back from that, right? grabs it or whatever. But I've played him and I've it's two or three times a game. It's what you do with those three turnovers. A, do you get them and B, do you score off them? When you think about the other side, that team scores like you give the ball to the Chiefs are scoring it doesn't on a short field on a short field for sure. So I think we do plays that that's it. If you said if you could just give me a one stat, I would tell you who won the game, which is turnovers, bills, turnovers, and who got the ball off the turnover or not even a turnover, right? Like chances to get the turnover. So if there's four, three fumbles, or one interception in two fumbles, who got the ball off that? And I will tell you who won the game. I'm hoping the bills win. I think it'll be fun to have them win. It'll be fun to have my Kansas City going back. And having two, well, no. So no matter what, if the Buffalo gets in there, they'll be the only team who doesn't have a Super Bowl. Right? Because Bucks won, Packers won, team won. Yeah. No, there's a few teams that don't have a Super Bowl. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, in this four. Oh, out of these four teams? They're the only team who never won a Super Bowl. Yes. Packers have multiple three or four bucks at the one the one year. And then we know Casey just did it. So that's kind of a fun thing to root for two. If they get in, it's like the only team that's never won a Super Bowl. And that's a huge, huge, huge thing. Um, well, it's like, honestly, this team is very, very on the. Ascent? Yes. Yes. So like, let's get let's let them get it out of their way this year so that they can like kind of fall back to earth a little bit. We said we say that with the Patriots for years and it never worked. So I know that was like that was like a Belichick Brady situation. Do we think we're walking into a Belichick Brady situation here for 20 years with with with the coaching staff that I mean, it is a good he is a great coach McDermott and Josh Allen looks legit as fuck to me. Like he doesn't have to run the ball. Like the last number of weeks, he's not running. He's just throwing for a lot of fucking yards. And he's accurate as fuck all of a sudden. Yeah, I know. That's the thing. That's the fun thing. Whoever got that kid to go from a 52% completion ratio to 75 to 69 this year is like how did because that's a big one, right? And... and go from throwing 12 interceptions in 2018 to throwing 10 this year, right? And go from throwing 10 touchdowns in 2018 to throwing 37. Look at the yards in 2008 in his rookie year. What do you throw? 2000? 2000. Yeah. How many yards do they throw this year? 4500. Darnell's still throwing
1:03:07 Jake: what he threw in his rookie year. Yeah, I know. And he's thrown less touchdowns. And he's got more interceptions. Like, it's not a good look. When you have this guy in your division, it's not a good look. They don't do fumbles. Where's the fumble stat? I don't know. I don't see it. I don't care. Whatever. That's the deal. I think Buffalo's going to win. I'm taking Buffalo. Bill's mafia, by the way. Fucking awesome. Did you see what they did after the game? Yes, they gave money to the $8 increments. They were giving money to Lamar Jackson's foundation because he wears the number eight and got injured. And it was kind of like to honor him. And like in like two nights, they raised like two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, the city of Buffalo and the fans of Buffalo who. You know, in these days and times, who knows if you have $8 to give? That's fucking awesome, Bill's Mafia. Like, that's really cool. That's very cool of them. Yeah, so I'm super excited. Again, there's some years I look at it and I'm like, ugh, I don't even know or care what's going to happen. And other times, like, either way, all these matchups would be fun. Bucks against Chiefs. Awesome. Packers against Buffalo. Awesome. Brady against Allen in the play. Awesome. Like it just there's no there's no matchup that you look at and you go Oh, that sucks. Because if you get Tom Brady and you basically have the old in the new school, again in the in the play in the Super Bowl, like the old the oldest best quarterbacks in the league against the newest best quarterbacks in the league. That's that's fucking awesome. Like it's not really it's right. So anyway, looking forward to it. We will probably come back I guess. Oh, well, maybe before the Super Bowl. Maybe before the Super Bowl, maybe we'll have to hands. If the bills are in it, I'm gonna wanna like certainly talk about it like longer. If it's Chiefs, you know, if it's Chiefs Packers, I'm not gonna be as interested as if Brady's in it, or if the Bills are in it. I guess Chiefs Packers is interesting. I think that was the first Super Bowl. Oh, I don't know. I think it was. Okay. I think it was either. Packers, the Packers were in the first two Super Bowls from the NFC. Yes. And it was the Raiders and the Chiefs in some order. I don't know who was one and who was two. Obviously the Jets were three. It was, I've got to show you, because I can look it up. It was Packers Chiefs, very good memory. Yeah, I remember. I was around, I remember. Yeah, you were near it. It was Packers Chiefs was the first Super Bowl. That's fun. And that was Packers Raiders. And then, you know, this little fucking team that was awesome. 17 and a half point underdog that you never go to like holding out. Let's no be back. Yeah, I think if you're if I'm if I'm rooting for a damn if I'm rooting for a matchup, I'm rooting for bucks bills, because that would be
1:06:03 Jake: the most fun. For us, that's fun. It's really what I think about when I think about the Super Bowl and watching the, you know, watching Super Bowl. It's not the Super Bowl, it's the game and it has the halftime and has whatever the ads. But there's the lead up, right? There's about six hours of programming they frickin' throw out there, right? And talks and videos and whatever. And when I think about the Super Bowl, I'm like, What's the stories that won't make me puke? And so that story of Alan versus Brady and the Brady comeback and the seventh thing and like that storyline would be fun. Did you be fun to watch? Like, okay, that's a fun, like talking about the Packers going back or the Packers and the Chiefs, like I don't, the storylines like, okay, the Chiefs are returning, okay. But like the soup, the bills not be, never winning in the four years and then wide right. And like, and then the, and then. Brady leaving the Patriots and them doing terrible. Now he's better for the team. I can do that for two weeks. I can watch wide right and Brady leaving the pads for two weeks. Yes. Coming out of retirement, the whole thing's just kind of fun. Like it's just fun. It's fun story writing. Plus, as we've said, we gotta wrap it up. All right. We'll talk about it if it gets in. All right, that's Justin. That's Jake. And as always, let's go Jets.
