00:09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Jake: Welcome to Jake Keenan Podcast, the longest running New York Jets podcast. Period. I'm Jake and joining me for the 192nd time in a motherfucking row is Justin. Justin how are you doing today? You're angry. Oh, it's not a good day. You're so mad. First of all, you like made the last minute announcement because of some stupid holidays. I've got to change my whole schedule and do an early podcast. I'm not prepared. I'm not ready. Hey. Doesn't matter if you're prepared or not. You're gonna suck the same either way. Just like you have a beer. What else do you care about? And this whole... You're so angry. All the news, the news is just shitty. The shitty, shitty. I sat there, so here's my day. It's Labor Day. I'm out in Long Island today. All day. Fine. At Hofstra? Working out? Yeah, working out. Yeah, I'm like that. Yeah, it was good fun and you and I play each other week one I know I think this is because we're the first two teams. Oh, thank always gonna play each other week one Justin: Oh, okay. So anyway, I think you're gonna beat me. I don't really like I'm not in love with my team this year last year I felt very good this year. I don't feel so good. Good. I looked at it afterwards. I'm like I didn't do a good job. I was not happy with it. I wasn't happy with my... I did. I wasn't happy with my Jets player after I looked at it. I made a mistake there. What'd you pick? Ended up with BlahPow, but that means I gotta play him every week at a flex spot. And I don't really wanna do that. I know. I mean BlahPow is useful, but I mean he's more useful than... Jake: You know, Curly last year who was pretty much the best fantasy player on on the Jax, but I had to play him at wide receiver Right. Well or flex so it's the same thing. I just don't think it just takes up the number one He was a two receiver Justin: Yeah, it takes up a spot that I could have had like a better running back playing at or a better receiver playing at I'll have to make some decisions where I'm going to end up having to play Blah-Powell. And then when my Goodson comes back in week five, it's like now I got this guy sitting
03:04 Justin: there running back or flex scoring like two points. So I don't like that. I didn't like it. I messed up. I'd much rather be in your spot and just have a tight end to whatever. Jake: Well, last year I had the tight end who basically did nothing. And I came in third in the league. I have this year a tight end who actually might actually score some time. He might. If he doesn't get hurt. Right. So. So. Anyway, so that was fun. Thanks everybody for showing up. That was great. A lot of suggestions for next year. All of which you had to fit about immediately. Justin: I don't want to make any changes. Jake: Well, that's the whole fun of this. To make changes every year. Yeah, we'll make it a little different, but you know. I think this year's change was a good wrinkle. I think we should bolt. Here's my suggestion for next year and I'll spend the next 35 episodes trying to convince you. No. So, um... How about now we blow it up to 16 teams? Absolutely not absolutely and then but to make it better we can say you can have any current or former jet I just hate 16 team leagues. It's a Justin: It's fun. No Jake: Some of us take this seriously, which is why yeah, that's why you sucked at the draft and barely didn't draft Justin: All right, I was consumed with another draft. Yes Jake: Yeah, you know, in that draft you gotta pick Ben Tate in fourth round. Yeah, that's a tough to reach. Anyway, so we had double drafting yesterday. All in all good. But this... Today we're doing our 2013 predictions episode, which is where we basically... Not only are gonna predict every game, go over the whole schedule. Justin: We're gonna predict every NFL game of every week with the scores every week. Jake: And MVP and sets. So hang tight for the next 12 hours. But before we get to that. We're not doing that. Nor am I. We all we do is we do is the Jets. We do... Every week for the Jets. Every week for the Jets, we talk about the season. Basically make our predictions. Because here's the thing. If you're a fan of this podcast, you know two things. One. During the season when we're picking our team to win. 16 and 0 Jets. We're gonna pick them to win every week because although I've been known to go the other way. Yes, because you suck, but I do not. I will always see that I will always be able to point out how they could win. How's that? But right now looking at the schedule I can be at least a little bit unbiased and be like, okay Justin: What can they actually win? So now looking out in the... Keep in mind it's a little bit. So like, you know, we're most pundits We'll have us at about four to five wins. You're likely to not have us there. Jake: Possibly. But before we do that, let's get into the news that hit today, which should help us factor in our wins and losses for the season. So a couple things. Go on. One. We cut a shit ton of players. Well we had to. In the last two or three days. Surprises from there?
06:00 Justin: Uhhhhhh surprises. No, I mean I was a little surprised by Khalil Bell. I thought he played really well in the preseason. They're thin at running back and they cut Khalil Bell and then signed Alex Green from Packers. Jake: where I feel like they're basically the same player. Why not pick the guy who's been in camp with Justin: the whole year and played really well in the preseason, scored four touchdowns, ran hard, ran well in that last game, seemed to grasp what we were doing. I don't understand that. So that was a little surprise. Some surprises that came a little bit earlier were, you know, Peterman. cutting him as a lineman. Yep. Little surprising. Joe McKnight was a little surprising. I was not surprised by Brandon Edwards thought they'd cut him. Yeah, so those were kind of, Peterman was a surprise and in the final cut downs, Khalil Bell was a bit of a surprise. I thought he was gone. As soon as Sims played as well as he did as the third stringer. And as soon as they signed Graham Harrell to as like a fourth quarterback, you knew our Immacularies like hurt or something's wrong with him. They're going to get rid of him. Jake: So then then Harrell's in for three days. They then throw him. He took a snap. He took a snap. The last snap of the game. That must have been something to help to get out. There must have been some thing that if you get on the field and take a snap, you get like a buck. Maybe. Something. Um, cause there's no other reason to do that. Unless you want him to get hurt. And then... I don't know what it was. Um, and then... I don't know why you wouldn't let him. Then today they get rid of him and they sign Brady Quinn. Justin: Right. They need a veteran. Cause when you looked at it... Jake: Is Quinn a veteran at this point? Justin: Well, yeah, cause he's been in the league for many years. He's a veteran backup quarterback. Jake: Why don't I pick up David Card? David Card just came from the Giants. Here's why they did it. giants. Justin: Here's why they did Brady Quinn. Good point with Carr, he probably wants more than the minimum. Okay. Brady Quinn's a minimum guy. We don't know his contract, but he's not getting more than the minimum. He's a veteran and he knows he's a backup. He's not competing for the starting job. He's not coming in as a guy who thinks I'm going to compete for the starting job for the New York Jets. He's thinking I'm gonna come in, I'm gonna be a veteran, and I'm just gonna help out and help mentor a long, young, uh, you know, young QB who's, you know, Gino is gonna start. Because to me it says, Sancha is not gonna be ready for week one and might not be ready for a while. and is not in that veteran position to be the mentor because he in his mind didn't lose this job. He lost it to injury. Brady Quinn's a guy like, I was never in this thing. I'm not gonna be in this thing. And he's the kind of guy like, even if Gino got hurt, I'm not sure that the Jets would even throw Quinn in there.
09:01 Justin: They might even say, all right, Simsie, lace him up. See what you got. Quinn's really there as a just a guy who's been in the league for six seven years knows his role not gonna make any noise about it happy to be on a team but but there's also no upside with him Jake: like there's no upside to any quarterback that you could sign right now well name upside Harrell he could have had upside no chance I'm in the rough Justin: No way. Green Bay knows what they're doing. They're not letting good quarterbacks walk away for nothing. Jake: Well, they then, funny enough, Green Bay, then dumped Vince Young. Yep. And then picked up Seneca Wallace. So here's another. So now, funny, Seneca Wallace is on the waivers. Mm-hmm. And is it comes from Seattle where Seneca Wallace was the backup forever? Does it seem weird? Why wouldn't you pick up Seneca Wallace? Justin: Well, it's a GM not a coach so Coach coaches look at guys and say that guy could actually play in my system versus that guy can't fair enough Jake: So the writing on the wall is Sanchez Justin: He must be hurt he's very hurt cuz he's not throwing he's not very he's not even you know yet No one's seen him throw a ball They won't say what's wrong with them. They won't name a starting quarterback, which is odd, because everyone at this point knows Gino's starting. Jake: Now all the rumors are coming out saying that Gino knows he's the starter, that Sanchez is very, very hurt. I want them to just come out, and what I really want, and everyone who listens to this podcast knows, I'm... Sanchez is probably number one fan in the world. Only fan in the world. It's probably true. Maybe you and his dad. And his dad might not even like him. We've seen his dad with his hands in his face. Justin: Head in his hands. Whatever. Face in his hands. Jake: Uh... Justin: At this point I want them to come out and say, Gino Smith is the starting quarterback for the New York Jets. And I phrase that purposely the way I did. And I did not say Gino Smith is the starter in week one for the New York Jets, because those are two very different things. They are, but could one of them reverse to the other one? I want them to name him the starter. And then once they do it, there's no turning back. There's no once you name a guy the starter. And unless he goes out and. but fumbles worse than mr. But fumble and Throws three picks a game until Sanchez can play then he's not gonna relinquish the job. Here's what I think they're gonna do Jake: I think they're gonna put Sanchez on IR The one that's if he's like really really hurt. I think he's that level I do not think every move that they've made seems to be this is not short-term Yeah, Brady Quinn would signify because you can go a week or two with Justin: you know, Sims and Harold. Brady Quinn signifies- So what if Geno sucks, he sucks, you know you got Sucko on the bench with Sims and Harold.
12:00 Justin: Brady Quinn signifies like we needed a veteran to be on the roster and Sanchez isn't gonna be there. Jake: Isn't gonna be on the roster. This year. We know he's not going to be on the roster next year, but he's certainly not going to be on the roster this year. Played this year. And you can't cut him because he owned the money anyway. So you might as well throw him an IR. You free up the spot. That's what I think is going to happen. That's my guy. What I don't like about this is it just feels like all this sort of like, again, they're not being. Maybe they're doing the thing that I have been asking them to do, which is not talk to the media and just. Justin: They're doing what you've asked them to do. You don't like it though. self. Jake: Well, as a fan, it's tough. It's tough just to know. I want to get... Justin: They're pulling a Belichick on you right now. Jake: Yeah, but I want to know the starter. Of course I do. I want to get behind that guy. Sure. Where the fuck he is, I want to get behind him. Justin: You know what? They're holding out so that the Bucs... I mean, I don't think the preparation is any different. Whether you're preparing for Sanchez or Geno Smith. If you're in the box, they're both pop like the notion that Geno Smith is anything but a pocket passer is ridiculous. He is a he's a straight up pocket passer. Right. He drops back. He throws the ball. He doesn't do this read option stuff like he's not a runner. He's not Colin Kaepernick running the ball. He's not RG 3. He's not Russell Wilson. He's a thrower. He's just like Sanchez. He's got a little mobility, but it's really just to get away and throw the ball He's not a statue, but that's what he is. He's and he's bring up to take our lumps a little bit Jake: Hope the running game could get going. All right, so that's the news for now We really don't know anything happening right now, but now we're gonna get into our 2013 predictions Here's what we're gonna do. So we have a lot to do because we generally do Couple things. One, we predict every game of the jet to predict the season, then pick the rest of the AFCEs, meaning we're gonna say, here we think their records are gonna be, then we pick Super Bowl with score, throw an MVP in there for the fuck of it, and then we'll get to our normal jet king to pick on. Right. Which is where we pick every game of the spread. So that's why this episode's usually mega, because we're gonna talk about every game. So... We're not gonna we're gonna go game by game right and we're gonna talk about what we think is gonna happen and Justin: Then we'll get to the not too deep. We can't go too deep What's gonna happen? It's hard to say what's gonna happen Um, you don't even know who's gonna be there or healthy by the way I speak to which health before we do this. Yeah, you think homes plays in week one. I do Jake: Holmes in week one? Justin: I see him out there. Well, we're about to get into week one, so I see Holmes playing week one. Jake: Right, and we're gonna talk about week one in depth because we're actually gonna talk about it as a- Justin: It's news, we're still in the news section. Everyone says he's practicing, he's running. He's warming up before games, he's in uniform. Jake: Yeah, I guess. I think he's playing. Justin: Yeah, I guess he's playing then.
15:01 Justin: He's on the roster. Again. They only kept five receivers and he's one of them. Otherwise you would have kept six. Right. They originally had six, then they cut Obamano. Jake: Which is, you know what is the interesting thing that I read in the stats today that were the red thing? He's 29. Holmes? No. Obama. Yeah. Yeah, he's no spring chicken. So that's kind of why I mean while he was doing well and His upside again, this is my entire theory on it. He's done. His upside is beyond past this. Whereas all these other guys are like projects. Spadola. Spadola. I'm getting a Spadola jersey. I'm all about Spadola. I'm getting a Spadola jersey. He's got a good number Justin: I don't know if he's keeping I mean, I would think he would keep he was 85 in the preseason I think you just keep that. Maybe Jake: Alright, let's talk about it. So week one bucks box at Jets bucks it's a real good at Jets Justin: What do you think the the oh we're gonna talk about week one later. This is really just to go through Yeah, I was gonna say what do you think the reaction to him is gonna be? Revious. Yeah, I think it's gonna be very negative. What does it matter? Jake: Cuz it's gonna be he's gonna come out with the defense Justin: I mean they're gonna and every time the ball goes near him. I'm gonna cringe and then Jake: If we catch it, which is probably gonna be maybe once in the entire game. Do you think he's a full speed? I don't I he has not played a hooik I'd be happy if he were on the Jets instead of d milner just think about it for a second Justin: Okay, let's say we rolled the dice this year and izik was like fuck it I'm gonna roll the dice and see what happens this year and I'm gonna keep I'm gonna let you keep Reavis and I'm gonna sign Richard Richardson, thank you. I'm gonna sign Richardson and I'm gonna draft him ninth Right. So we go Richardson and then instead of D Milner you have Dorell Reavis. Don't you think we're number one defense? I Jake: I think we're pretty good. Um Justin: Like I rolled the dice with that and behind the- Jake: We know it's about money. The difference was it was milliner at nine at nine and another pick as well as an eight million dollar difference. Milliner we probably signed for- Justin: But Reavis is still on our cap. We They can run the ball a little with Doug Martin, but I'm looking forward to seeing us stop the run Jake: All right, we'll come back to this game. We'll talk about I think we win too. I think we're one to know Justin: I'll start off strong baby. I think and I now with the whole Gino thing Jake: I'm kind of like little juice teams., you know revenge Justin: a little fuck you to revus. Yep. I wanna know. I wanna know. I like it. Jake: This is rough. 825, 3rds of night game. Why do they make us play New England
18:01 Justin: in prime time every year? I hate this. I don't know. Every year we get embarrassed in prime time Jake: and this is another one. Yeah. One and one. One and one. Lose with Patriots. And it's a short week, you gotta go on the road. Yeah. To New England for their home opener, not fun. They're gonna be riding the high of like... Look, we just were reading these down. I have mine down. Yeah, I'm writing what I'm saying down. No. All right Justin: So all right. Well, all right following week 425 Against the bills at home. That's a win. I win. Yeah, I agree. You got two more days. Yeah, whatever Yeah, you got like a little mini bye week right for week three. I think the bills are gonna blow donkey Yep. Lots of donkey. And I would like, I would really like to see us take it to the Bills with Petton. They just signed Jim Leonard by the way. Oh they did? Yeah. Good for them. He knows their defense I guess. They're gonna be all new. Rex fucks rookie quarterbacks in the ass. It's gonna be great. Jake: So I like that one. Two and one. I agree. And I think Jets fans are gonna be like, look. Justin: We're two and one. He's two and one. We're gonna go to Tennessee. And we're gonna be three and one. Jake: Totally agree. Total revenge from last year. I think the Titans are where we're gonna start to see, oh my goodness, here we are, this way. We're gonna be better. Our quarterback is gonna go through five picks. We're turning over five times. We hope not. Even turn us over three times. They got Sean Green, so we gotta worry about that. There's that revenge back there. That back there. Justin: Three and one. Three and one. But with that said. We come into the death, the deadliest death schedule. These next five games are so brutal. And it starts off on Monday night in the dome in Atlanta, where we get embarrassed and go three and two. That is a rough place to go on prime time. We have two Road prime time games that are just absolute nightmares. Yep, and I will be at Jake: It goes but i'll be at the thousands games. I'm going down to see if we both have them at three and two Justin: Yep, three and two great. Then we got pittsburgh coming in to our house And I think we're probably gonna deviate here. I don't think Pittsburgh's that good. I have us winning four and two Jake: Win four and two. Wow. Yeah, we really yeah. Oh, okay Justin: No, England comes in the week after and they're just gonna beat us again we're They have us by the balls. So I have us at four and three agreed. Jake: They blend. Yeah. Justin: Then we go to Cincinnati. Well, I think some of you, one of the best teams in the league and the AFC for sure. Jake: This year where we lose and go forward for, and the headlines start coming. Agreed. Four and four. And this is, it's the thing. This really isn't about Sanchez versus Gino. Did you think about this? Like. Justin: I looked at this now because I was like oh no it doesn't I'm I to me the
21:02 Justin: quarterback is a wash they're the same right I think there's better upside with you know but I think there's we'll get to that later this five game stretch is what it is like I don't I don't care who the quarterback is we agree we are a Jake: hundred percent all the way through the season Wow that's crazy and then the Justin: week before our bye New Orleans comes to town and gives us a whoop and we're four and five agreed Four and five I agree. That's what let me take a sip of beer. I mean and Jake: We're really in agreement so far totally agreed. I'm looking down my list. We agreed on every single game, okay Justin: coming off of a buy We play the bills again off of like a mini blast off a buy and then this time off a buy and we go to Buffalo and I think we beat him again and we go five and five and here's where Jake: here's where we start to deviate okay yeah I think we go to Bells. Bills almost always split with us. Justin: That's not true. In the Rex Ryan era we've owned the Bills. I think they've beaten us once. Okay Jake: so you're wrong. All right I honestly think that they'll win in Buffalo. I think this is if their team needs time to usually they start off strong and go Justin: They're a whole new everything. Jake: So you have us at 4 and 6, I have us at 5 and 6, then we go 2 ball, no shit. Justin: Even though I don't think they're even close to the same team, that is not a play. Meaning you and I. It's not fun to play. Jake: It doesn't matter. So I have a set five and six. They're gonna be pumped. Justin: You have a set four and seven. Jake: Whatever. Justin: Okay. Miami comes to town, plays the Jets- Jake: So interesting, we don't get to seed Miami until this week- Till December. The 13th week of the NFL season, this is our first game with Miami. Yeah. Meaning, obviously we gotta play them twice in one month. Justin: We've already played the Bills and the Pats twice. Right. And we haven't played Miami yet. Right, right. So I was beating Miami here. This is when they come to us. They're coming to us. It's December. Starting to get a little frigid. They're coming up here. They're already breaking down. I Jake: have us winning. I have us at six and six. Here's the I was winning this game. So we're close, but this is also after a what I'm considering a one, two, three, four. five game losing streak. Yeah. This is where the schedule gets a little easier. Yeah, well I'm seeing this team is like, they're in trouble. I also think after that Ravens loss, if you want me to put it on the calendar. That's not when Rex gets fired. That's when I have it circled. Oh, Justin: I, if he's going to get fired, I have it after the New Orleans game. Jake: Going into the by week. Yeah possible, but not that record if you if your record does that make no sense of firing Yeah Justin: But if they're going into the by week and they're in a winning season But they wouldn't know you haven't I don't know that would be four and five with a three game losing streak
24:04 Justin: That would be the time. Four and five, it'll work. Right. Start off three and one. Now you're four and five and you've lost three in a row. That's when you get fired. Out on the bye week. If you don't get fired in a bye week, you just keep going. I think the Ravens. There's no reason to replace you. Jake: I think the Ravens is the one way. Justin: Whatever. So I was beating Miami, you two? Jake: I was. So I'm at six and six. I was beating Miami, yes. Justin: Here's my run, by the way. I was making playoffs. So I was winning out we're 10 and 6 but this is how we do it. I'm giving you the blueprint. Okay So then oakland who's by all accounts the worst human league comes to new york We win we win that no problem. So I have a set seven and six there then we go to carolina I was winning there. Yeah, that's eight and six. I was losing in pant. Yeah, I was losing in carolina. Okay um We then host cleveland where this is actually gonna be a sneaky good game because Cleveland's gonna be better than people think and We're gonna be in my mind at eight and six and they're gonna be somewhere around there seven and seven Somewhere close and it's gonna be like a wildcard battle game in the second to last week And I think we take it at home nine and six I think we win the Browns And then we go on the road winning you're in take down the Dolphins ten and six Jake: Winning in lose the don't and six Justin: Seven and nine. Oh, we're so wrong You're wrong. I'm right Well, I told you I was gonna have much better than people thought they were gonna be I just believe in the defense I do too and I think what I think you can win As long as you're not turning the ball over and look, I think once the season starts... Jake: Both quarterbacks I see turn the ball over a fuck time. Justin: Once the season gets going, we have a rookie who hopefully is more coachable than a guy that's a five-year pro. So the only silver lining is that you have a hopefully what is a more coachable player. If you want to have the symbol... And I believe in Marty. I really do. I believe... From what I saw in the preseason where they don't show much, it was a much better offense than what you saw over the entire Rex Ryan era. It's a much more creative. Guys were open. They threw down the field. They ran the ball. They ran screen plays, misdirection stuff. A lot of interesting stuff. They couldn't really get the run game going, which is going to be a problem. but they were throwing the ball, like with pretty decent success and scoring points. Like in game two, when Sanchez came out, he played all three quarters, they had 27 points already. Jake: Well, that, if you want to look at the silver lining, so let's pick my British one, I'm gonna pick 79, you have 10 and six. 10 and six. And you're making the playoffs. And yeah, sneaking in. Wildcard.
27:00 Jake: Wildcard bitches! Here's silver lining time. Silver lining is, while we got this whole quarterback thing going on, our preseason has been 3,000 times better than last year. Last year, zero touchdown. It was a mess. Right, it was a mess. So while there's all this- Justin: We had like the worst offensive coach in the league. With no weapons. Jake: I think we still have very little weapons, but we have a much better coach. Justin: Much better. Much more like creative. like guy who has been offensive coordinator in league many years successfully called calls plays for a living That was speranos first time ever being an offensive coordinator ever calling plays Yeah, he's never done it before it was idiotic Jake: He was it was that was just the worst hire ever So I think that's what's the one thing the other surrounding is hey listen If you have a stifling defense and you are a good run team You can survive with a rookie quarterback. Why? We've seen it. Because we've seen it. We've been there. I've seen this tape. Justin: Seattle did it last year and Russell Wilson was nothing special until the middle of the year when it clicked for him. San Francisco did it, right? With Alex Smith. He was nothing special. He was a rookie, but yeah. Well, no, no, no. I'm just saying he wasn't a rookie, but... You can do it if you have the defense to, you know, when Flacco was coming up, he even still hasn't proven to be like this amazing go down the field every time offensive juggernaut, you know, Tom Brady esque quarterback. Right. But if you can run the ball and you have a defense, now I don't know if we can run the ball. I'm not saying we can. But I think that they're going to be more competent. at picking and choosing the right times to do the right things. Going deep. I think they're going to do that a lot. I feel like you're going to see them go deep once a quarter. Oh yeah. Chuck it down the field. And I think that's a- Get the past interference. Jake: I think that's a 33% play. Because I think with 33% of the time you make it, 35% of the time you you get called for a Pass you they get called for a pass interference at 33% of time gets dropped Justin: So I like those odds and then there's the other one where it's like, you know It's third and ten and you're at the you know, you're at the the opponent's 45 and you just chuck it towards the end zone and so it gets picked and the guy gets tackled at the four It's like a punt It's worth a shot. So, all right. 10 and 6. So let's get to the rest of the- 7 and 9. All right. Yeah. I mean, we're off by a few. It was amazing that the first like 8 or 9 we were just- Jake: Well, I actually, I mean, I'm more down on this team than I have been, but when I looked at the record, like I do it for two ways. I either, I don't know if you do it for two ways. Do you say, I think this team's going to be X and then you go back and do the games? No. Justin: Or do you go through the games and you- Go through the games and then if I'm like way off. I calibrate myself because I'm if I go through the games and I'm like no we're not gonna be 12 and 4 Like then I have to go back and find a couple losses
30:01 Justin: But but like I I looked at that schedule and I was like well There's five death games where we'd be lucky to catch one of them And then I actually I had just rally at the end. I had a seven year. I had a six and ten And I went back and- So what game did you find? Jake: Steeors. The Steeors game was the game that- They're not gonna be that good. Yeah, this is the game that I was like, originally when I just straight up looked at it, I'm like, okay, six and ten. Justin: If we were Impitsberg, then we would lose that game. Right. But home, I think we could win it. Jake: But I could also see, I could also see us flipping with, you know, I think that bucks game. Justin: I mean, this whole thing- Why also had us sweeping the bills. Right and I and I also the Saints could be a they could be a juggernaut or a mess They're kind of like 5050 you never know get Because he's an awful defensive coordinator. He's been the defensive coordinator now for four different teams in like five years, which means he's not very good at it. Last year he was with the Cowboys, and he had some offense weapons. And they were awful. And they were awful, right. All right, so what do you think of the rest of the AFC East? So the rest of the records in the AFCs? So I think we come in second at 10 and 6. I think the Finns are behind us at 9 and 7 or 8 and 8. And I think the Bills are back where they belong at about 6 and 10. They just can't get out of there. Jake: And the Pats will be the Pats that win the division 12 or 13 wins. Yeah, I have the Pats at 11, 11 and 5. 5. Feel like this is a year that they're gonna I mean 11 5 is still a great season. They're gonna win the AFCs then they're gonna be a I Just don't think they're gonna be I think that's one of the two of those games that they dominate a little bit last year They're gonna suffer a little bit from that. So I have a little five. I have the Dolphins at eight and eight I think that's what they were last year. I just they're that team They're just like up and down team that can never seem to whatever actually Buffalo taking a way step back four and twelve Yeah, I don't think, I think they'll be about the same as they were last year. Justin: I just, the only question with them is, one, is EJ manual competent? And two, is EJ manual even gonna play? Because if in week one, he might not even play, and Cobb is on the IR, I never heard of the guy who's their backup. I never heard it. I never even heard of him. He had surgery. Yeah, it's not like he had like a little tweak or sprain. They went in and and scoped. So you never know how a guy reacts to that and if he gets hit once does he have to go back? Jake: So who do you have in the Super Bowl? Justin: So from the AFC or from the NFC, which one do you want first? Give me your Super Bowl team. All right. So teams and how do you see it happening? Yeah. So both teams I have. Jake: Or you guys tell me, so tell me the things you don't think are going to happen.
33:02 Justin: So like, well, I don't think it'll be a repeat. I don't think the Ravens will even be back in the playoffs. Agreed. Let alone Super Bowl. Agreed. Also don't think the Niners will be back in the Super Bowl though. I see them making noise in the playoffs again Agreed, so they're in my top three in the NFC Haven't decided if they're gonna make the NFC championship game or not But I like them in the end in the NFC the AFC is weaker Teams I like in the AFC the Pats unfortunately, I like the Bengals I like the Texans, I like the Broncos, it was like my top four in the AFC. To make the Super Bowl, I like two teams who are taking yet another step forward. So both teams last year took steps forward in the playoffs and now it's time to take the ultimate step forward and make the Super Bowl. I would pick the Bengals had they had won a playoff game last year, but Andy Dalton, they still haven't won a playoff game and I don't think you can just make the playoffs three years in a row with the two previous years losing in the first round and then make the Super Bowl. That's the Falcons. Otherwise I'd pick the Bengals. Falcons, I'm picking the Falcons. To make the Super Bowl. To make the Super Bowl. They're making the leap. They're moving beyond the getting to playoffs. They're moving beyond the winning a game in the playoffs. Right. They're moving to Super Bowl. Jake: History of of Maddie Ice. Justin: History of Maddie Ice. Jake: The legend of Maddie Ice continues. Justin: And I have them playing the Houston Texans because I think their defense is rock solid. I think their offense is really good. They can run the ball. They can throw the ball. They really good. weapons Their quarterback is fine. He's not a detriment to the team and their defense is really solid. So I like Atlanta versus the Texans two dome teams I think playing in the outdoors of the Meadowlands in the winter and I will pick Atlanta to win that game. So I like Atlanta winning the Super Bowl in the Meadowlands in a 24-20 game. Close, close down to the wire and I'm just gonna pick the team who I think has Jake: the better quarterback, which is Atlanta. So I agree with you on so much. I agree. Like the thinking behind it. Yeah, I mean I do so don't think we repeat. Also things that I think Justin: Ravens will not make the AFC. Oh by the way before you go the NFC I think there are I think there's three teams that are like the cream in the NFC. Two of them are in the same division, so obviously Atlanta, San Francisco and Seattle. I think there are the other two. Straggling behind maybe Green Bay. It's like the top four. Jake: Interesting Green Bay is kind of like the dark horse, but whatever. Justin: They have no defense. Like you just cut them up.
36:01 Jake: So I agree with that. Dan, I agree with Baltimore not being there. You know, this is theory that the five in, five out. the both people I'm picking are already in. I think this year it's a, if you want to look at really great games, I think the AFC Championship is Denver against Patriots. And then in Denver. In Denver. Yeah. And Denver wins. So there's one of my... I would root for that. I'm unbelievable. And then I think the Here's the twist is I think the twist the NFC. Yeah, I do not think the 40 I think the 49er I think as a team who has gone and been in Been into AFC championships and knowing how difficult it is to be there and they even won one and went on I think getting back to that game and winning that game again. It's just so difficult There's so many things that need to go your way. So I actually see them. I actually see them losing the 49ers. So I think the team that I thought that had a chance to go and with with now with a little bit a second-year quarterback whatever, I'm not a great believer in the coach but I think they're gonna get the home field this time. This team went on the road and had to go on the road twice and I think they'd gone on if they think they'd had the home team on one of those they would have won it. I think that's Seattle. Justin: That means they have to win their division. Jake: That means they have to win the division with San Francisco in the division. That's a hard division to win. I agree, but I think it's possible. They certainly plausible. Very, very tough. Justin: Certainly possible. And beat them at home. Well, they beat them. It's just hard when you have, like, it's hard for them. I feel like they start with eight wins. Every year they start with eight wins. They kind of start with seven. Well, they're home. Yeah, I know. Well, it's like you can pencil in seven and one every year, and maybe they'll go eight and oh. Right. But they're kind of in the situation now that the Jets are in where it's impossible to just win the division. Right. You can't get a home game in the playoffs unless you win your division. Like you can go 12 and 4 in that division and not win it. Yeah, no, I totally get you But I agree if they if they win their division and get home games and they're gonna be if they're the number one seed If they can go 13 and three Jake: That's a tough out boy. That is a tough tough out and that's why I think these two teams are gonna get in Justin: That's why I like atlanta because I think they have the easier road to getting the home field throughout. Jake: And then I have, and this is gonna be this outdoor game. Yes. With two outdoor teams. Right cold weather teams too. And I think it's gonna be fun. And actually I see Seattle winning it. 3027. I'll go with that. Russell Wilson MVP. I like it. I don't know. There's something about it. It's a fun game too. But if you ask me again, like in the day, I could be like Denver wins it, Peyton Manning second MVP. I just think there's stuff. With Tim, that's just not gonna last. And I, but I think you'll get to his third Super Bowl.
39:02 Jake: And so that's my prediction. All right. We're on record. Justin: All right. Here, take that to the whatever. Take the Vegas. Jake: I do have my 61 odds somewhere around here. There it is. And I have my week one ticket. Justin: You have a week one ticket. You're getting points, I think. Did that line move? Let's see. Speaking of points. Speaking of points, let's go to the games. Jake: Is that where we're going? We're going to the games. All right, so let's go. So remember for every game, so first of all, I wanna announce the- Yeah, talk about how people get into this thing with us. So there is something we do every year called the Pick'em, the Jet Kingdom Pick'em. It's called the Jet Kingdom Pick'em 2013 this year. It's done on Yahoo. So you go to... Go to... It's go to Yahoo Fancy Sports. So just type in Google Yahoo Fancy Sports. Then there's a thing called the pro football pick them. You say join a group. You put in group number 31137. 31137. 31137. And then you do password podcasts. And I've posted this to Twitter, so you can go find it there. Then you can join one of a few of us. Let's see how many people are there. Um... in the league now. There's a bunch. I've dropped. Justin: It's 20 or so, maybe more. Jake: Yeah, so it's getting up there. Usually it's 30 or so people. It's fun. But every week we then get on the air and we then pick the games. So, net-net, you can actually play pretty well against us if you want to towards the end. Justin: What happens for the winner? Jake: The winner of this, this is our new, the winner gets automatically in the Jet Kingdom Fantasy League. Justin: If you want in. Yeah, if you want in. If you're a fantasy player, but we're gonna assume you are if you're pecking games. Jake: Right, so that's it. So you get into next year's automatically. So that's kind of fun if you win that. Yep. Um, we pick every game and it goes all the way through the Super Bowl. This thing goes to 11. So get in, get early, and you miss a week, you're fucked. Kind of screwed. So don't miss a week. Yeah, don't. It's with the spreads. And again, we talk about it every week. So here we go. Then we have another segment called the Throne Picks, which is what we do from the throne. This is my testing. interesting. Right. To test me. Yeah, test you. It's only been six years. So, yeah, we haven't been picking for six years. No, no, we didn't start this till like three or four years ago. Justin: Go listen to episode one. Anyway, we didn't know we didn't pick all the. Jake: Oh, no. But then strong picks. Justin: We pick the picks we've done since the start. But I as we go through these games, pick by pick. I have to leave out any any game that revolves around an AFC East. Jake: Right, because then we pick them in a segment called Throne Picks where we talk about the more in depth and then we also pick the score. Correct. And we keep that. So let's go do a Jet Kingdom pick up. Let's do it. Start them up. And by the way, I've not picked the... Me neither. I'm picking them down. As we go. As I always do. Alright. I do that. I like to pick them as we go.
42:02 Jake: In fact, I think I've got you every year we've played. Justin: We, no, that's not true. I beat you two years ago. Um... But I won it. No, two years ago, I won it. I beat you one year. It doesn't matter. Um... Usually question. Week one, just like almost every week this year, there's a Thursday night game. I think Thursday night runs through week... 15 yeah, cuz then it goes to Saturdays or something like that like through the second to last week of the year There's all on Thursday night you fan enough in I'm a fan cuz I like watching football more often than Like I like watching more more times So having a Thursday night game is better than not having a Thursday night game because it's something to watch on Thursday night, but I don't like when the Jets are playing Thursday night because I don't like this short turnaround time and we tend to play on the road Thursday nights which I don't like. Even though last year we played Thanksgiving night. That was but fumble night. Jake: Yeah, I guess I guess I don't really like it. Justin: I don't think it's fair. I think it ruined our season. Two years ago when we went to Denver on a Thursday night, which is a completely Playing a Sunday night game against the Pats We then the. Play a Thursday night game at Denver, which is completely unfair a short week in a place where? You're gonna get tired Well, you need time to even yeah, and we lost because Tim Tebow ran over us in the fourth quarter because obviously we retired and it derailed the rest of the season. By the way, available quarterback Tivo. Not on the back. CFL is looking hard at him and deciding they don't want him. So nice. All right, so let's go. So Thursday Jake: night. My job is always to point out when you pick an AFC. Correct. Thursday night. This is complete Justin: bullshit of the league. Completely unfair. This is the league. This is the Orioles. Well, it's the league too. Because they didn't have to throw Baltimore in there Thursday night. They could have put them on Sunday night if they wanted to. No, it's always the winner. It hasn't always been, but... Well, for the last five years it's been. They wanted Baltimore to open the season. And since their stadium is in such close the proximity to where the Orioles play, they couldn't have them both playing at the same time. The Orioles have a home game Thursday night and they didn't want to change it. Jake: And I don't blame them because... No, because we have 150 billion things. It's just one game for the Orioles. It's one of their 160 games. Justin: Yeah, but they... I Jake: a Family and family both, they're not happy and I agree with them because once just won a championship. Justin: This is crap because they have to go on the road. Jake: Oils and Brett, how many world championships? Justin: Who cares? Yeah, but you're coming at it from a purely you only care about football. Yeah. You hate baseball perspective. It's not fair. Fuck baseball. The Orioles had their schedule and they made it and that's their prerogative to say, well then why not hold them both?
45:00 Jake: Just do them both. No, it wasn't. It was something else that made it couldn't do both. Well, whatever. Justin: Baltimore got screwed. Jake: And they couldn't move it to Wednesday which they were thinking about doing because of Jewish holidays. Justin: The Orioles don't have to back down. Yeah they should have. Jake: They're a shit team. Shit team glared, moved back down. Okay. Alright, pick the game. Justin: Alright. So either way, the Ravens get screwed and I don't really care but they have to go to Denver, the place where they... First off, Denver is R gonna be good. And they kind of like this is a total revenge game for Denver. Jake: I just don't think that that can be good. I think they're gonna have to hangover. They might go eight and eight. Justin: Yeah, they're not gonna be as good. They don't have the leadership that they had. They don't have whatever. Next up. Chicago's hosting Cincinnati. Chicago home opener, new coach. First time without Lovey Smith in a while. But I really, really like Cincinnati. Chicago's giving three. home which means this is kind of a like a even game I'm gonna take Cincinnati Jake: give me Chicago Cincinnati's not ready for this okay not ready for your jelly Justin: not ready already no I mean I think what makes them not ready they've the they have a third year quarterback now they've made the playoffs both years the last two years that he's been there with AJ Green they're better on defense, they're better on, they're a better team. Jake: Yep. Don't think they're gonna go in Chicago and beat them. Justin: Chicago's not, all right, whatever, we disagree. Uh, next game. Detroit hosts Minnesota. Detroit giving four and a half to Minnesota and the Adrian Peterson's. Uh, do they have anything else? Nope. That's it, right? Four and a half, I mean, I don't know. So tricky because they can score, but they can also give up tons. Yeah. Um, but I like to try it at home given the four and a half. Give me a choice. I-I'll take them. Then we have the Colts opening up against Oakland and. I think Oakland's the only other team that doesn't know who their starting quarterback is right now. Oh, the Raiders starter is. And for that reason, even though the Colts are giving nine and a half, give them, give me that. I'll, I'll give nine and a half. No problem to the Raiders. they're in the sweepstakes. Jake: Yeah, they are. They are terrible. Justin: They're gonna win one or two games. Jake: But I think 9 has a little bit too much. I think Andrew Lock's gonna roll, maybe.
48:01 Jake: Yeah, still, I just think it's a little bit too much for me. Too much for my blood. Justin: Alright, we're still at one o'clock and we have a hell of a game. New Orleans at home against Atlanta. New Orleans giving three. And I like New Orleans at home in their home opener even though Atlanta is my Super Bowl team Give me that give me that home opener dome love with New Orleans at 1 o'clock. I agree. It's a welcome home for Sean. Yep Yep. Yep. All right Moving right along we have Pittsburgh at home facing Tennessee giving seven Pittsburgh is rough in their home openers. So I like Pittsburgh even though it's seven points. I think they're just gonna Jake: Intimidate Tennessee into not being able to play very well. That crowd is crazy for a home opener Justin: They've won like 11 or 12 straight home open. Yeah, I don't think I don't think they're gonna win Jake: I don't think Tennessee's gonna rock in Pittsburgh and walk away with a win Justin: So and I think it is seven points, but I think I think they'll cover it. I'll take it All right. Now we have Seattle going on the road at one o'clock, you know that whole Pacific time going east playing at one in Carolina and Seattle's favored by three They are the much better team They are the much better team I'm gonna let that whole thing worry me. I'm gonna pick Seattle. There could be 200 rushing yards by quarterbacks in this game Jake: I will Well takes yeah, I don't think Carolina and Carolina just this has not much D I don't know if they have the weapons other than they have Luke equally is a monster Justin: All right last one o'clock and we could leave it. It's Kansas City going to Jacksonville Can't Jacksonville not getting a whole lot of respect here Kansas City on the road Giving three and a half. I think that's crazy. This team wasn't that good last year I know it's a different team with a different coach and a different quarterback But they had all these all pros and all this stuff glared last year and they were still sucko I think Jacksonville I mean I saw them You know play pretty well with their starting unit against the Jets defense And I think they're gonna surprise some people with what they can do on offense So give me Jacksonville getting the three and a half at home I actually think he'll be better than people think. Alright. You're predicting-predicting what? He, he's not benched by week 5? Yeah, he'll be decent. Uh, okay. Now we're up to, uh, 425. Where we have, uh, St. Louis hosting Arizona St. Louis giving 4.5. I think that's 1.5 too many, so give me Arizona. Jake: Um, yeah, I think, uh, no, sorry, I'll take St. Louis.
51:02 Jake: Sorry, I was looking away. I'll take St. Louis at home. I think this is going to be a good team. A lot of people are saying that their defense is going to be better than that, better than St. Louis. Yeah, St. Louis' defense. Justin: Oh yeah, Jeff Fisher typically has good defenses. But it's a Schottenheimer run offense. Jake: Yeah, I think Arizona could be interesting later, but I just think this is going to take a bit to get them together. Justin: All right. And then I only have two, four, four o'clock games. And this is kind of the thing with the NFL over the last couple of years. Not a whole lot of four o'clock action going on. So. Red Zone is not nearly as fun at four o'clock as it is at one o'clock So we got San Francisco hosting Green Bay and I think they played in week one last year if I'm not mistaken And I think San Francisco won the game. Anyway, San Francisco is giving four and a half and I feel like they're gonna win by more than that again I don't think Green Bay, I mean, Kaepernick ran for like 180 something yards in the playoffs when they played Jake: and I don't think Green Bay's even figured it out still. Justin: They're still looking at that. Yeah, they're like, I don't know what to do. Jake: I think they have, I think that Green Bay has a little chip on the shoulder. I mean, really, you're not going to do that to again. I actually think that Green Bay is, I'm thinking Green Bay, you know, I don't know. Not sure about it, but I'm thinking Green Bay. Okay. Justin: 4.5 points is actually I thought that would be a 3. But, whatever. Alright, Sunday Night. Sunday Night Football. These two teams seem to play all the time on Sunday Night. They play it on Sunday Night. It is D.O.O.O. Hosting the New York Giants. Giants don't lose at Jerry World. Jake: What? What's wrong? Dallas is hosting the New York Giants. Justin: Dallas is giving three, but the Giants don't lose in Jerry World. They never have. So I'm gonna take the Giants and those three points. Agreed and agreed. Yeah, it's time for Garrett to get fired. Do you think if Jason Garrett gets fired? Jake: Eventually someone's gonna go, dude, no, that's your job. That's like being, you know, Bill Gates when he ran Microsoft, be like, yeah, I don't pay attention to the Windows division. I'm only about office. No, your job is to pay attention to both. And even if you're not paying attention to one, you need to pay attention to both. I don't know if he, I think he needs a lot of seasoning to get better, but.
54:17 Justin: on Monday night because we're squeezing two in on Monday night like we always do in the first week and Washington's home giving three and a half I think they're much better than Philly. I like Washington. Definitely take Washington. They're just gonna run it up their ass. Jake: Yeah. Yeah. I don't think I don't I think this whole I think though It could be anybody back there. They're just yeah, they're just gonna I mean, you know, Vic I just don't think Vic has basically the same weapons He's had and like worse Macklin's out. That's right. Yeah, so he's has a different offense Justin: But it's it's gonna be a fun game. This is gonna be an up-tempo running quarterback Jake: Are you a believer in this Chip Kelly's gonna change the NFL with noness? Okay. No, no cuz you know what? Justin: The Pats have been doing that for years Sorry. Really? Nice. Who knows? Eat a Dick. Alright. That was for the Eat a Dick fans out there. Alright, so last but not least in the pick-em. I did not fuck up. I did not. Not once. I did not include one answer Eastern. You are in weeks. Mid season form. Form. I need a bye week. We got Euston heading to San Diego and on the road giving three and a half and I like Houston. I know San Diego's got a new coach but I don't think that. That makes them better. I think that makes them basically the same and I don't think their defense is any good. I don't think San Diego's going to win a lot of games. Jake: No, I think this is the game they could know. I don't think so. Justin: No. Jake: I think this is the game to win. We don't use one that crazy week where- Justin: It's the hardest thing for the suicides. Yeah. Who would you pick this week in the suicide pool? Jake: I think I picked Cults. Justin: You know what? I think I did join a suicide because I was able to share it with somebody. And I think we settled on Pittsburgh. Oh really? Yeah, because of their home opener situation. I think the Colts, I just want to get through week one. Jake: Oakland, we, you know, that's tough. Plus I was thinking the Colts, like I probably don't ever want to pick them again. Justin: Like that's true. The Colts are a good pick also because Oakland's got to come across. Yeah, and then I don't want to play. Jake: I don't want to ever have to pick them again. Yeah, right. Although I'll pick against Oakland maybe for the rest of the league. Justin: All right, just keep picking against Oakland. So that's our pick them. Let's get to let's do some AFC East action. Yeah, let's do it
57:00 Justin: Okay, so I have to switch gears here and move to a different place. All right, so we have New England at Buffalo and if you want the line New England's favored by nine and a half so This is like This is a typical, to me, you know, New England goes in there and beats the shit out of the bills in week one. I feel like they play week one almost every year and New England just beats the Jake: piss out. There's that one, there's that one year that the... Justin: I don't know how many years ago. It was like 10 or 11 years ago cuz I was there Jake: I was on call it bills just killed them what happened was they want two games entire season, but they they the bills went out like Justin: here's what happened lawyer Malloy got cut for the pads and like during cut down week and the bills went and signed them and They beat the pads like 31 nothing And they were like, yeah, we got lawyer Malloy. He knows the, and then the Pats went on to win the Super Bowl. Right. Or something like that. I think it was. I think you're exactly right. And I know it was the lawyer Malloy saying, so anyway, I have this 27-9. I don't even have the bill scoring a touchdown. I'll give Mike Patton a little bit of a, like a little bit of a. He kinda knows Tom Brady from being in the conference for being in the division the last four years. Yeah, I just enjoy it every time. But yeah, it's not like that makes it any better, you know? Jake: Yeah, I think New England is a no-brainer win this game. I'm saying 31-10. I think it's just gonna come out flying. Yeah, we're in the same ballpark. Justin: Alright, so then we got Cleveland at Miami. And this is a zero line. Don't know if it's a zero or if it's a pic or if they usually they say pick them or off But it actually just says zero which is weird. So I'm gonna I'm gonna just say that's a pick them Okay, Cleveland in Miami. I like Cleveland this year I think they're an underrated team and I think Miami is the exact opposite. I think they're an overrated team I like both the head coach that Cleveland brought in there. I like the offensive coordinator. I know of Turner. Everyone knows I wanted him to be the Jets offensive coordinator. I like their defensive coordinator that they brought in from Arizona. They had a decent defense last year, even though they only wanted a handful of games. So I'm picking Cleveland in the tight one, 17-16. Jake: Yeah, I don't believe- Deflate those- Deflate those dolphins. I think the dolphins are gonna get deflated much later in the season, but I think this is the game where we'll be going, C, C, Mike Wallace, King, Tana Hill, Second Year, L-L-LaMar Miller Run. Like, I just feel like this is the game that you're gonna like, oh, that- every dolphin fans know what they're gonna they're gonna be calling the AFC Justin: championship right now and one and then everyone's gonna be like yeah you beat
1:00:02 Justin: Cleveland exactly so I think they're gonna win but Cleveland's gonna beat him and it's gonna be even better well then it would be better but 1723 I think I think Miami will win you have Miami winning yes 23 17 now we get to the game of the hour the day the millennium number 24 Not Khalil Bell. Back in the house. Dorell Rivas walks through the tunnel in a red uniform. So painful. I guess maybe they'll be in white. White. Who knows? But the Bucks are coming to town with Josh Freeman. Who knows this is a make-or-break year for him. I don't believe in him by the way me either They've got Vincent Jackson on the outside Crow be covering him Mike Williams on the other side. I guess milliner will be covering him. Yep Doug Martin's the key can't let him get off. He's a little He's in the Ray rice mold he's a little tough guy who can catch the ball and run and You can't find him behind those big offensive linemen. He's tough. He's tough to stop. He's the key Now the Bucks last year were awful awful awful against the pass They were like one of the worst pass defenses, but they went out and signed shawn goods and Goldson goods and something like that um away from the nires and Obviously brought in Dorell Rebus. Yes, they picked up another someone else. Yeah, I think they got another they signed Well, they have Mark Baron who they drafted last year is a good safe So two safeties a corner and I don't know who the other corner is I don't think I don't think the other sides is good, but against the Jets. It's like So this is one of those games where you and I back in the day, we'd be like, so who does Reavis cover? And it's like, uh, the guy who lines up on the right, I guess, right? Because it doesn't matter. I guess if Holmes plays Reus will just be on Holmes the whole day and Holmes will have like a catch. Maybe that's great fine Whatever open it's not like anyone's gonna be like open because if I were the box I'd be doing what the Jets day back Rebus cover this half You've got this guy and then we'll just cover everyone else with all the other guys and they'll be blitzing And right they've got a really good defensive lines. It's gonna be hard to run on them. So they've they've With Rebus, they've really Button that up because you couldn't really run on them last year, but you could throw all over them now It's gonna be rough and we can't really Like we don't have a weapon which maybe makes it easier for us because they can't key in on a guy like say Reavis you You stop Calvin Johnson, right? We don't even have like a quarter of Calvin Johnson Johnson We don't even have Cal like we don't have any of that. So So anyway, I mean I look I look for the offense to come out throwing
1:03:00 Justin: Because I think that's how you have to try and beat them at least at first because They do have a good line They have a good defensive line. Have you seen our quarterbacks play? We're gonna have to try and do it that way I think it's the only way to do it That's our that's gonna use that we're gonna throw to set up the run as opposed to in previous years where we've done the opposite We'll throw some Wildcat in there. I feel like it's coming. We've even I don't see a lot of teams running it in the preseason and we're running it in the preseason, which to me means where we're going to really run it. Jake: Or we're doing the reversible with your last year. Justin: No, we're going to have running backs, running it. Cause we now have the architect of it. our quarterback coach. Unlike last year where we had the head coach who decided to let the guy do it, we have the guy who actually knew how to do it. So David Lee, our quarterback coach, came from Arkansas, was the quarterback coach with the dolphins at the time and said, you got to try this to beat the Pats and it worked and sort of came up with all this stuff. So Every time they've run in the preseason Blau Powell looks great running it So, you know if you can get Blau Powell and curly involved doing a little trickery I feel like we're gonna need trick plays and long wigs got him in his back pocket Don't feel like we had that creativity in the past Our defense again, I think will look good So there's gonna be a tight game in my mind. The Jets are getting three and a half at home We both think they're gonna win. I think it's gonna be very tight and Sort of low scoring. So I'm gonna go with a victory 16 13. Okay, very nice Jake: Everything you say agree I think you'll see We see a lot in the places of screens. Those just screens. Yeah, we didn't run it very well No, but although a few times Sanchez didn't run it. Well, right the other guys ran it better, right? Justin: So Sims actually ran it the best which is odd Yeah, well, what's whatever but Sanchez had a pick six on one. I agree with you. That's gonna be very very very Jake: Over the place. I think they're gonna try things again He's kind of be back like in the first year like you're gonna see them trying different stuff give geno smith a Chance give them a chance. Don't put them out there on an island. Don't put them out there don't have them doing thing just give them a chance and I think I'm breaking just a win obviously 2120 but I'm saying that seven on each one of those come from the D Oh, for each. Yeah, so pick six for each. Or a Fumble or a kick return or something. Yeah, each one is gonna have seven on it. Justin: There's a lot of rumblings out there for the Jets to go grab Leon Washington. Jake: Leon Washington. Justin: Because he got cut by the Pats. Jake: Well, if it picks... That'd be fun. Justin: I would rather pick him up than Alex Green. Jake: Put Sanchez on IR and pick up Green. Justin: I mean, I would just drop Alex Green and pick up Leon. I mean, I don't know why... I think Alex Green's much younger.
1:06:01 Justin: Well yeah, but I don't think we have a special teams player. Regardless. Regardless. Jake: It has now been an hour and five minutes. Justin: Well that's our picks. There's a huge pick up. Jake: Remember, you can play against us in the Jet Kingdom pick-em. That's on Yahoo. I'll read off the thing again if you want to go pay against us. If we lose, we give ourselves some days to get over it. According to you, we'll have 10 extra episodes this year. According to me, we'll only be here. We'll see how that goes. We'll see how that goes. Justin: We may not do that this year. People have said that they don't necessarily like that. Jake: What? Too much Jack Kingdom. No. Everybody goes so we get them back on and close on the day after. I guess. Alright. Hopefully we'll be back in a week. Alright. Well, hopefully, well, we will be back in a week regardless.
