08 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Jake: Welcome to Jet Kingdom Podcasts, the longest running New York Jets podcast. Period. I'm Jake, who's apparently just woke up from his slumber. Justin. Justin, how are you doing today? That last podcast. What? The one we just did? Yeah, that was tough. That was a rough one. For those of you who just listened to a back one, I wonder if there's anybody who A on this podcast, who knows that we know that we you Because I know that this crossed. Justin: Specifically know this one? Jake: Yes. That know about it. Know about it. I know there's a couple. Because people have looked it up and found it. But I don't know of anybody who knows this one and knows that we do another one. They wouldn't be interested. You don't want to listen to that other one. So not interesting. It's so not interesting. Justin: First of all, it's not explicit. So maybe Jetman could listen to it. Jetman. Hey, Jetman, there's another podcast over there that you might want to listen to. Jake: It's awesome. Awesome. It's a padcast. It's a padcast. Two words. Dickhead two words. Haha. Jetman. Oh, poor Jetman. We love you, Jetman. Justin: We're just- Keep rocking that cape, Jetman. No, if that's him. Jetman's gonna find us. He's gonna be like this six foot six dude. Who's just enormous. He's gonna kill us. Enormous. Jake: I can't wait till I say this guy's smattering. I'll be like, who are you really pissed at? He'll be like... Jake, I'll be like, that guy over there. No. No one knows what you look like. No, that's the other one. No, I don't know. You're the Jake. Someone was asking, they want to come tailgate with us during one of the opener. Sure. Do it. The more the merrier. Justin: Just bring some good food. Jake: Yeah. Justin: You can't come tailgate with us unless you're bringing something raw to throw on the grill that's gonna be delicious. Jake: That's right. Justin: Or something alcoholic. I prefer food to alcohol. Jake: A really good beer, like a really fun beer. A really good beer. Okay. Justin: You bring us a home brew, or you bring food for the grill. And not a Bubba Burger. That shit does not count. Jake: It wasn't, um, I apologize. It wasn't a, so anyway, we talked about our, something else. We talked about our stitcher, um... reviews the other day. But we actually got a review on iTunes for someone else. Oh, cool- Let's see if I can pick it up. I think I sent it to you. So see if I can find it. You did send it to me. I have it. Do you want me to pull it up? Yeah, you pull it up. I can pull that up. So someone, oh, I got it right here. I got it. Someone actually gave us a new review on iTunes. It's been a while. Thanks, guys.
14 Jake: I'm Go eat some dog butter. This is terrible. Anyway, anybody knows what... Justin: Someone Googled dog butter. No. You'll get the joke. Jake: No, you will not. I hope not. That's terrible. Justin: What happens if you Googled dog butter? Jake: Alright. Anyway, the guy says, Internet 546 guy. I don't even think you are a guy. But thank you for the review. Says, I'm a new listener. Most Jess Podcasts, NFL Podcasts... Oh, not good. ...are super boring and rigid. You Googled dog butter. It's not good. This one is funny and it feels more like you're just hanging out with two knowledgeable jazz fans. So basically he thinks he's just listening to me, he's not listening to you, he's saying knowledgeable. Justin: The most common secretion of the granular or taint region. This secretion is a mix of sweat, dried skin and ass smell. I stuffed butter by the way. Oh my god. That's terrible. Jetman. Jetman, why are you talking about Duck Butter? Jake: You're so nasty, Jetman. That's going to be the new chant at the stadium. By the way, we should stop because people think- D-U-C-K. Justin: Butter, butter, butter. Jake: If people, because if people think that we like- This is the first time they ever listen to this. No, no, no. If you give us a bad review that we then work you into our routine- We kind of do. Justin: No, don't do that. No, because then we're gonna get slammed. Jake: I don't want bad reviews. That's right, but then the next guy's gonna be like, oh, I'm gonna rip you one and then we'll have to cut him out. Oh, that may have to. That's what I'm saying. No, no, no. Justin: Oh, people, you think people wanna be in our routine? Well, I think for this, I think they'll think it's funny. Jake: Like, talk about duck butter, butter? It'll be funny. Jetman, duck butter? Right, Jetman, duck butter. Anyway, so, um... Internet guy. Thanks for leaving us reviews. I really appreciate it. So we won't do it at the end. We'll do it at the beginning. So we have some news. We have bad news. Bad news bears. We do have a game coming up on Saturday. We're playing the Bengals. Not really going to talk about that because... Well I guess we can talk a little bit about it. Let's preview it a little. But let's talk about the news first. Because the corners are dropping like flies. Yeah, so we've lost. We've lost our third round pick. Justin: Dexter Mcdougall. Mcdougall. He pronounced it correctly on like the Jets radio. Now they have a whole year to learn his name without his plan. I'm Dexter Mcdougall. Anyway, he's out for the year. Jake: See you later. Goodbye. At least he wasn't like doing something amazing. Like at least he wasn't like three interceptions in the beauty season. No depth. That's great. Then we lose... Milner for at least the preseason, maybe one or two games with a high ankle spring. So that's no good. Jets then go into what we like to call panic fucking mode and go sign Laquan Lewis.
01 Jake: So who's just a journeyman younger guy but whatever, 5'11, some guy, some dude. I guess they went to scrap heap. There was like the article like the four guys, the four corners are still on the market. Listen, if there's anybody still on the market in August, whatever the fuck date is 12th, I think we should hold some tryouts. I mean, Corey Webster's out there. He played for the Giants all those years. But if you're, but that's the thing, the league, there's two things that are that there's not a lot of in the league. Good corners. ... and good quarterbacks. If you're either one of those and you're just, you're not out there, you're signed. That's why those guys got swept up. That's why someone's paying fucking Rivas $16 million for a year. That's why someone paid, I don't know. So, and now the heat, the heat is starting to hit. Well, on, on, on. Justin: Laquan Lewis, let's do it, Laquan. Well, so, so, you know. I think the milliner loss is the bigger one of the two, but he'll at least be back. And hopefully for week one. Yeah, I mean, yeah. A third round corner. But now it's his second year and he is now yet again kind of missing training camp. Jake: And that's what really hurt him last year. Well, that and Dimitri Patterson who you think- He's not practicing. He's not practicing. He's got like a series of injuries. Justin: Of course, because that's- That's what it is. Jake: That's what he does. Sounds like a broadcaster thing to say. That's what it is. Um, so, yeah, it's getting bad. They even have Antonio Allen playing corner. Yeah. Fine. Great. Justin: and prior and Lowry Lowry why am I saying Lowry oh my god Landry on the field at the same time with the way that they're all banged up that seems that seems like a good thing so if you can figure out a way to get those three guys on the field if Allen has to cover someone Maybe who we got a lot. Well, you're Kyle Langster, Wilson Wall, walls, walls and walls. This guy, Laquan Lewis, Ella, who going? Rosai down to drop the like of like Raza Raza Ghoul. Raza who high from Batman. Yeah. Jake: I don't know some other guys knows and then millan or back maybe no, there'll be back week one I think he'll be back week one high ankle sprain. I just I just don't want to be like he sucks all season It's like oh, yeah, the high ankle sprain all season. It's like oh you fuck like really? I feel like he'll be back week one I mean, this is so now are you Where are you on the on the on the piss scale on a one to ten ten being really fucking pissed one being It's totally okay with the we really didn't aggressively go after any of nine your Oh
02 Jake: Looky-looky Justin's a little upset with it I think it's his first little upset first are you gonna are you gonna say something? I'm gonna say this is the team he put on the field. It's his kitchen. That was me last year So you're pissed. Yeah, he had an opportunity. Justin: He was trying to, you know, all of his, I'm going to call them excuses seem legitimate. You don't want to overpay guys. Hey guys, don't want to get guys trying to build a sustainable winning culture, not looking for one year wonders, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But when you come out of it with like 20 some odd million dollars in cap space, it really just looks like what were you saving that for? It's not like we're poor. It's not like what you can't pay for. It's not like you're trying to save money here. Jake: Like, what is that being used for? I'd like to know. Like, I just want to remind everybody that here's why corners, first of all, it's always been said that Rex Ryan's defense relies upon great cover corners, because that he likes to bring, he likes to basically throw a guy out on an island, and then bring the heat, but bring it all over the place. So, and you know, it's always like pick corners, grab a corner here, grab another corner. So. But here's why. So week one, Raiders, fine. Who fucking gives a. We are in. We are in big trouble after that. Then it's just like a litany of some of the best. It's a gauntlet. A gauntlet of some of the best wide receivers. It's American Ninja Warrior. Real Packers, cause you know. Bears. Oh, okay. Still don't know who to cover. Lions. Boy, at least you know who to cover in the Lions. Yeah. Okay. Justin: So you got the you got the Packers in there. Yeah. Whoever you double the other guys open. Right. It doesn't matter. The Bears, you can't just pick and choose. They've got everywhere. Our only saving grace is we can stop the run without stacking the box. against all these teams like the Packers are gonna want to run with Lacey and the Bears are gonna want to run with Forte and it's not gonna happen. Lions are gonna want to run the ball and it's not gonna happen But god damn it if we're not gonna be able to cover Marshall or Jeffries . ae're not gonna be able to cover Megatron and now Golden Tate on the other side and all those tight ends Jake: they have in there and the running backs you can catch the ball Justin: And then what? What's after Jake: Then bullshit then actually it's okay because then you got bills chief steelers bills dolphin Vikings Titans Patriots all thrown on you after that after that you're okay like
00 Jake: So really I want our corners to get hurt right around week eight and play awesome until then cuz No, you don't want them to get hurt ever. They're already hurt. No, I know. But I'm saying like, we'll lose, like, this is the game. That beginning gauntlet is going to be tough. There's a couple of must-wins in there, if you ask me. I think there's of that pack, and we'll talk about this. Justin: There's three games that you have to win. You have to win. Of that first eight? There's three of them that you must win the first seven. You have to win the opener against the Raiders. Yep. You have to beat the Lions. And you have to beat the Lions. And you have to beat San Diego. Those are the three teams you must beat. Jake: Because the other ones are like... I feel like we have a chance. I think the one that will be the surprise, like our Saints of last year, where we beat a really good team, I think that's the Broncos. No. I think that's the Broncos. That's just ridiculous. I think we'll then just get destroyed the next week by the Patriots. But I think the one that I'm looking at, but like, I think everybody will have us down, you know, with 13 point underdogs. But I feel like the chart, the Bronco is the one we're going to put on the thing and we're going to beat them. And then we'll just we won't even show up for the Patriots game. I don't even we won't show up. Literally, we'll put like, whoever. Taj boy, Taj boy is not making this team. I have news for you. He is. Let's put it on the board. All right. I'll put that on. So we have a question from the audience. Anything else about our terrible cornerbacks? Again, it's too little too early. See, I'm not I'm not totally out on on. Yeah, you think Dimitri Patterson has redeeming qualities? I do not. I think he has redeeming qualities. I don't know. It's a lot. I'm not saying like he's the second coming of. You are wrong. Let's just say you're wrong. All right. And let's leave it at that. So we have a question from a loyal listener. Send out an email to podcast at, because he knows how to send his emails now. Justin: Should I even mention his name? Should I say that, like, because we're going to mention this guy. Jake: Are we again? Are we? All right. Yeah, we are. Anyway, well, there you go. Foreshadowing. Justin: Foreshadowing. So here's the question. Question. Ah, what was the subject question? It's a long one, oh my god. What was the subject question about QB by committee? Right. I want to know why QB by committee is not being talked about this year for the Jats. I think there are a lot of benefits to some sort of split between Vic and Gino. Hypothetically, why not play Gino for quarters 1-3 and Vic for quarter 4? The benefits, as I see them, are 1. Gino gets experience. 2. Vic has less chance of getting hurt and thus play a complete season for the Jads. 3. We leverage Vic's explosiveness when the opponent's defense is most tired and the stakes are highest. 4. We can win with Gino. We can win with Gino Ken playing a very I'm a very low risk style of offense until he builds his skill level up at the QB position And the coach is so comfortable increasing his play type repertoire.
00 Jake: In theory, if you take this out of the box and you say you look at it and you put on the table, you go, oh, why do you know if everything's by committee, right? There's this committee, although there's only a few positions that seem to be by committee, there seem to be some that if like you have a stud, you pull your stud. But like the committee of, you know, running backs is obviously one. In theory, it's like, well, if you had two guys and you played them like, I mean, I've, I don't know, when I thought of this. This is a basketball, folks. Right. Well, we'll play like one, one week and one the other. Why not play Geno one week, have Mike sitting there getting ready for the week after, not that week, and then just kind of alternate them. Like in theory, it sounds kind of smart. Justin: Hey, why don't we should do this with the... Broncos Patriots that two games Jake: There you go sense to play Vic against the Broncos to play Gino again or vice versa I don't know as Vic ever beat the Patriots. I don't know the Gino has well knows Yeah, I just think it's I just know it's a s a nine idea It's I think it's more about practice and getting them ready and doesn't work If you really think you're helping Gino there, you're wrong. Didn't you see what happened when we tried to insert T-Bo into our lineup? Doesn't work. Did not work. And this is not gonna work. Because no one's gonna be happy. The quarterbacks aren't gonna be happy. The team isn't gonna know who to follow. The fans are gonna shift the headset. Justin: When do you decide though, like... Oh, well maybe I should do this in the third quarter of this game. Right. Or maybe we're up 30 to 3. Jake: I should swap it back. And maybe I don't. Or not change it. Or maybe I do. Or want to use them. It's like bringing out the bullpen. I think it's good. Jesse, I think you're like more of a- This is not baseball. Yeah, it's not baseball. Justin: It's not basketball either where you have like a sixth man who finishes a game. It just doesn't work that way. It doesn't work that way. If it did, someone would've always tried it. Not for quarterback. I mean- There are there are like I can think of running backs who finish games that don't start game I mean Sean Green was like that for the Jets, right? He was the finisher. He was like the punishing right big bruiser back Look there want right these these are guys finish guys or a finish finish games, but Jake: Or the other way there you also heard it like you bring out the blues bruiser for the first half and they're bruised and they get The defense beaten down and then you bring out the speedster who then takes advantage of their whatever Justin: Yeah quarterbacks not the not the position to be doing that with you kind of need a rhythm You need to I in the game I will say you know who the leader is who's generally the quarterback Jake: So I will say the corner the corner the more that our defense is looking like they're gonna have It's a hard time stopping people from scoring. Because again, people don't score by running anymore. They score by passing. And so if we really can't stop people, I think that even makes a bigger argument, and I'm not saying this is the right way or the way I feel about it or whatever. It's a bigger argument to have if... to have Vic start. Because if you said, who can score more points in a game, if you have a bad defense, I don't think it's going to be a bad defense, but it's not looking like it's going to be a shutdown defense. If we have literally no names out there and starting corner positions, wouldn't
02 Jake: don't you feel a little bit more comfortable that Vic could score? 30 points a game versus Gino. I don't know. I feel like Gino, like I don't know. It's a 30 point a game guy. Justin: What was what? What I did notice during the first preseason game, which was a fucking scary. Um, a really, really scary offensive set with Vic. in the shotgun with Chris Ivory standing next to him and Chris Johnson coming in motion like wildcat style. Right. Oh, shit. Here comes this guy coming this way. Right. With Vic with the ball on his hands. Can hand it to one of those two guys or keep it himself. That was scary for the defense. Jake: Of course. Yeah. Justin: That was that was legitimately like. Jake: Whoa that like you know fast enough that that you'd kind of be scary Justin: She knows to have not slick enough slick Vic is like he's the most exciting butter He's kind of slick like duck butter. He's he's one of the most exciting guys with the ball in his hands That but like really every years ago Vic right now Chris Johnson four years ago, Vic right that was scary. That was outright I mean, when I saw that out there, I was like, what that is gonna that's gonna raise some heads. Like that's that is where do I go? What do I stop? And you have to have the experience like Vic of reading that and saying, okay, which who's taking this? Is this me? Is this is this Ivory? Is this Johnson? Who's got this? Where's the whole gonna be? And he's he's got that. No, I don't think you know, how does that just yet? I mean, that's why he's there. He's got to teach him that stuff. Teach him or do it. I'd like for him to teach him, but I think he's better than him. Like I said in the last podcast, I think we're gonna have to deal with the fact that our backup is better than our starter. And maybe just maybe this early schedule of being so ridiculously difficult is my reason to put Vic out there. A reason to have Vic maybe start the season. If he does well great if he does bad fine bench him you're gonna lose those games anyway That's why he says you gotta beat you gotta beat spoken like a true Jets fan You gotta beat those teams you can beat otherwise They're gonna turn for a really long Jake: All right. Well, let's get to we got to our questions Alright, let's talk a little bit about the upcoming game. We are playing the Saturday night. Is it Saturday? I thought it was Friday. I think it's... I wish it was... I don't really care. I think it's Saturday though. I'm just gonna take a look. I'm gonna be away. Oh, you're terrible. You're terrible human being. I'll be in Miami. The Finns are playing at home. Saturday night. Maybe I'll go see the Finns. There you go. Saturday night, 7pm.
09 Jake: It Yeah. So we'll see. I think the Jets played a full quarter. I think the Jets really, really played a full quarter. We did, but I'm saying like if you were the Bengals like , the Bengals, like the- Oh wait, what's this we did? Justin: I know the Colts did, and they played one series. Jake: I think, I don't think the Patriots did. I think most teams played their starters like for a second. Well, for us, I feel like... Justin: I feel like every game they're going to want Vic to get a series with the starting. So the Stars play a half at least. Stars play half. I don't think they'll go that far, but I think they'll go into the second quarter with Vic. And I think what you'll see is you'll see a lot of shifting in the front seven on defense. They probably won't play more than a quarter. You're gonna see a lot of experimentation with the with the secondary I mean those guys those guys like Antonio Allen might be on the field for the whole first half But he might be playing corner right for for the second quarter just to see What's going on? I I don't know if you want to put down tape though That's the thing. Like, do you want to put that on tape or not? At this point, it's not like it's not, it's not not on tape. It isn't on tape. Him lining up out wide, trying to cover a guy is not on tape. I don't know if you want to do that. I understand. Jake: But I don't think that's, I'd rather have the guy have some, some reps there. If he's actually, if he needs to step up to that role, then just be like, oh, we're going to hide our secret weapon. This is a secret weapon. It's hiding a deficiency. Oh, but the deficiency is on the news. It's not like no one knows. It's not like we're the only private people in the world that know what's happened. No, but nobody knows if he can actually do it or not. Oh, well, who cares? Let's see him do it. They need to see him do it. I guess they do. They can't wait to practice it. Justin: Well, let me ask you a question real quick before we get to this. I know everyone's on the seat of their pants about this Jekkingham League, but wait a little longer. Duck butter. When you read about how the Jets offense is doing, let me ask this a different way. When you read about how the Jets team in general is doing in training camp and in practice, do you read it from a perspective of Oh, the offense played well? Or do you read it from a... The defense played poorly? Like when you see like... Right. Oh, Gino didn't have a good game. Do you attribute that to Gino or a good practice? Do you attribute that to... Do you know how to bad practice? And Gino sucks? Or do you say, wow, the Jets defense? Whoa, they're good. We're opposite like if Gino has a lights it up in practice. Do you say oh shit? We're in trouble in that secondary cuz Gino's lighting it up. Like how do you read that? I don't look at Jake: Individual I look at sort of trends. So I think the practice is
05 Jake: As bad as progressive at seeing what's gonna happen the regular season as the preseason games are it I mean talk about Not realistic practice. It's practice. It's like You're trying different things, you're throwing in different plays, it's like, it's completely bullshit. But I'm looking for trends. Trends to me are the numbers around it. You know, from Gino, it's picks and sacks. Like is in general he throwing picks left and right. Justin: When you see that, right? When you say, oh, Gino threw two picks today and took three sacks, do you say, ah, bad game Gino. Or do you say... Ooh, defense, good. Jake: Well, no, I'm the typical Jezfin. I do a little bit of calm A, a little bit of calm B. First, I start off with, ah, fucking G-nope. Then I'm like, ooh, on the other side, that's good. Justin: I can take both. Because like Antony Island had two picks the other day. Are you like, ooh, Antony Island, maybe he could play corner. You're like, wow, our quarterbacks suck. Because Antonio Allen just had two picks. I just, I just don't. As a corner, which he's never done because he was a fucking linebacker in college. Jake: I'm more concerned with the offense. I'm more concerned until right now. I read that I'd be like, oh shit, Gino's not doing well. I don't read. I'm, I'm, again, we have a defensive minded coach. I'm not reading it. It's like, I'm not worried about the defense. Justin: When you read that, Antonio Allen's playing corner and he got burnt by Stephen Hill. But then Stephen Hill dropped the ball. Why does that happen? What do you think when that when you read that? Jake: Oh, I just think Steve, fuck you, Stephen. Like why do you keep making me sound bad? Justin: Well, I mean to me that's a double bad, right? It's like Stephen Hill the shitty ass wide receiver burnt a guy and then he just drops the ball anyway So it's like that's a double bad Nothing good happened there. Maybe a good throw Right. Like, oh, you saw the open guy streaking down the field. You hit him. He dropped it. And that's what he does. Yeah, I'm going to keep going on this. He's getting cut. I hope he gets cut. Stephen Hill. Yeah, I hope he's guy. I hope he steps up and he gets cut by the way. He's not being picked up by anybody. He will not be on a roster. He's on the Jets or he's not in the NFL. Jake: Alright, well we have a game so I know I'll talk about is there anything else you want to see out of the game Justin: I thought he looking for a little more a little more running Okay, I don't think the running game really got going in in my first game Especially the starters. I didn't see much of a running game out of them I'd like to see some holes opened up by the I shouldn't say that they didn't get it going. They kind of got it going when Vic was on the field. They ran the ball that pretty much that whole drive. When they scored the touchdown, there was a lot of running by him and the running backs. But I'd like to see a Chris Johnson 15 yard run like where he's out in space. I'd like to see Ivory kind of with a couple of really nice hard runs up the middle. I'd like to see them each get like five, six carries each. gain some yards on the ground. And I'd also like to see a clean game from Gino. No sacks, no picks, no bad plays.
02 Justin: Just a queen, the quarter. Yeah, well, whatever he's going to play, I'd like to see it be clean. That way I can feel a little more comfortable with the fact that they're going to. He's gonna be the starter. I wanna say a clean. Jake: I wanna, I don't wanna say, clean, no clean. I wanna see, I need to see scoring drives. Justin: As a team that suffered more than a 40 yard punt. Jake: I wanna see him cut our punter. Justin: I'd like to see him cut him on the field like Westoff said. And remember when he said that in the hard knocks, that'll cut you right in the fucking field. I'll cut you on the field. Just walk out and cut you out. You're right on the field. Jake: I wanna see Stephen Hill move to punter. Justin: He can't catch. They have him return punts, but he dropped those two. Jake: Terrible. Alright, let's get to some other fun. For those of you who don't care about any type of gaming or fun, please turn off the podcast now. Justin: If you don't like fun. Jake: Because I'm going to mention a couple things. First of all is the yearly JK Jet Kingdom Pick'em. That's done on Yahoo. I'm going to tell you exactly where that is now. Um. We, every year, Justin and I, we do a pick-em. So it's on football.fantasysports.yahoo.com. Let's go to Yahoo's Fantasy and then go to pick-em. Anyway, it's pool 2116 and the password is podcast. and Not Padcast. No. Duck Butter. One word. It's one word. Podcast. And you can play against us because what's the deal is that both Justin and I will play all season long and we will talk about it during the season because we're going to make our picks. We pick, for those of you who have never listened to this podcast before, we pick every game every week. who's to whatever. And if you're beating us, we'll talk about you. If you're not, we never talk about you. So that'll be fun. We got a bunch of people in there. I don't know if there's a max but get in there now. Again, pool 2116. I have tweeted a couple times Justin's Maybe we'll put it somewhere else. I don't know where else to put it. And we also do the Jet Kingdom Fantasy League, which is the cream of the crop, our third year of doing this. So we've asked people to send in. We had a eight open spots, and we asked people to send in eight. Justin: Have you confirmed with the other two people that you're at? Can you do that? Why? Jake: Because they have more open spots? Well, yeah. All right. I'll do that. Summon emo. Thank you all right just so they know well, there's two of us. We're both in there. We're both in so it's a special League we do an ESPN. We're gonna do draft the draft day is the 28th 28 from 5 to 7 PM August yes, right. We see it's right before the final Jets game Um, we play in a special 12 team league, regular, everything, regular, regular, but you can, you have to play a jet on your active. Play them. On your active roster. Active that week. And you may not play, you may not play any team on every week.
03 Jake: We did their bye. Justin: The only thing you don't have to play them is when they don't play. Jake: And then for the. for every week you may not play any player that in real life is playing the Jets that week. So for example, week one, you own Darren McFadden. You may not play him. You play him, you lose that week. You have lost that week. You've lost that week. Automatically. That's right. So just to one, Just to one 2012, I won 2013. We are looking for you to step up and win this year. So send us. Justin: We don't wanna win. So we have a couple. I do, but I prefer someone else win this. Yeah! Jake: So we have the person who came in second last year is I will check with him. The person who won the pick them last year is in. That's another reason to be in the pick them because then you if you win the pick them on you then you get automatic into the JK fantasy leap. But we're looking for people who know what they're doing, want to play, having fun, who are Jets fans, listeners. Send the email to podcast at Team.com. Some of the people are trying to bribe us with things and it's working. And then you have to pick either the podcaster, that's me, Jake, or the broadcaster that's do this over there, Justin. You pick one of us. And it doesn't really matter. It's not really going to help. Although everybody up until the last couple that have been coming in have been picking me. Yeah, these are the early ones. But the early ones, right. So we're going to go in three people this week. Yes. And so you have to listen. And then we'll announce you here. And then after we announce, I'll then add you in. And I'll respond to you. Justin: Should I read these emails? Or should I just sort of give the names? Jake: Why don't you read something that's like, if there's a funny bit from one of them profitability I'll talk about who they are and then, you know a little bit about them. Justin: Now you're like really making me like. Well I have them open. Jake: All right, so I have them too. So let's pick the first one. This is a repeat. I would say read their name, their team name. And then maybe something funny. And then who they picked. Justin: Gareth Dobson. Gareth, you're in. You're in. You sent us the best email last year. Yes. And You have promised That if we let you in the league, yes, that there will be a Jack Kingdom fantasy newsletter I think you sent a sample. You sent us a sample. It was fantastic. It was funny. Jake: I think you said you'd be doing it weekly. Yes. Oh, yeah, and Justin: You're on the hook now buddy. Yeah, cuz you're in the league welcome Gareth. So Gareth lives in London Yeah, so he's across the pond So our 5 p.m.
19 Justin: I Jake: to win the UK. To host us. Justin: that Forget to change that he does say that dude's a dude so dude the dudes a dude is what he said He what he meant was the dude has duck butter on his face So anyway, yeah Gareth good picture of him with his dog good picture dogs got a Jets Jake: Pine glass and he looks like we're both bearded man. He looks like he's rocking a good beer Justin: He's wearing a Rebus jersey in this picture that he should be shot at against him so you're in Gareth you're Jake: now he's with no he's not he's wearing a Dimitri Patterson okay only see the front Justin: so next up because we're lazy you know we don't feel like changing last name so we're just gonna invite Jack Dobson into the league That's just crazy. I did not pick that out. Like when they when I got these I didn't know that they were brothers You know, he does say it so when you do read the email, he says Oh he does say I'm one of three brothers all English all Jets fans whose older brother Gareth was in the league last year Oh, okay And held his own so Oh, so it's a newbie. This is a newbie Jack which is Gareth's brother. He pays a compliment to Gareth. It says Gareth is the smartest person he knows. When his two brothers became jet fans, he didn't hesitate. He adopted the green and white immediately and they all dove in. In just a few years, the three of us are fantasy football, point spread, betting, Jets, football obsessed. They can do that. They're in the UK. We can talk about that. Yeah, that's awesome. Jake: So picked his game like by the way his favorite memory the Viking and Jets game you ever went to that game We were there it was insane Justin: Yes, yes, so this game was delayed for an age. It's very British due to adverse weather. Yep, and he was there As were we ... ... ... ... ...
09 Justin: shows us a picture of both of them, which is kind of cool. Selfie. victorious very nice But it's fun to hear different opinion and points of view. I haven't considered. There you go Which means he kind of agrees with everything I say, right? Well, just like your brother. I will crush you in the league again. All right, and your brother the league the Dobson brothers Dobson brothers Welcome, that's crazy. That is I must not read it. All right, and now for our Entry, we kind of alluded to it earlier. Yes Jesse, welcome back to the league. His team name, Team Tyrannosaurus Rex. Nice. I really like this email. I'm kinda gonna read the whole thing. Jake: Alright, good. Justin: That's right. My team is named after the Jets head coach who's a fucking 20 foot prehistoric predator. I know what you're thinking. Rex Ryan is neither extinct nor an apex predator from the Cretaceous period. Well, have you considered that scientists say that Tyrannosaurus rex could eat up to 500 pounds of meat in one bite? I'm a vegetarian and even I think that's fucking awesome You want to know my best my best Jets experience? Oh, I don't know How about the time Jericho Cottree and Mark Sanchez decided that it was time to get a first down on third nine against the Browns during overtime in 2010 cornerback Eric Wright Thought that Khatri was out of the play with a pulled groin and played off a bit. Eric Wright forgot that Jericho Khatri. He's tough as nails. Eric Wright is a former NFL cornerback. Where was I when all this happened? Watching the game in my monster truck while crushing Tom Brady's Audi. I'm going to leave out the rest of that sentence because that's a good way to end it. Meet the winner of the 2014 Jack Kingdom fans of the football league. I know what you're thinking, this is the guy who came in last two years in a row. That would be true, but did you consider the largest tooth of any carnivorous dinosaur found to this date is that of a Tyrannosaurus rex? It was 12-inches long. Since my last humiliating loss, I've done nothing but train. I have read every fantasy football book, magazine, newspaper, website, and scientific journal there ever was or will be. Don't believe me? Does my before and after picture prove my point? That's fantastic. Jake: Yeah, he chopped out his hair from, or chopped out his face, picture of him with a, looks like his parents.
02 Justin: Bodybuilder. Jake: Right, to a very not the same color as he is, bodybuilder. Justin: Uh, the Jet King podcast is a podcast, which is why the podcaster gets my vote. There you go. There you go. That's three in a row. Three for three. In conclusion, Team Tyrannosaurus Rex, one pulled groin. 500 pounds of meat and your 2014 Jake: JKF fantasy football. I really like the I really like the the hoops hoops but hopes but a lot of cuts but But of saying that the person who is the worst in the league two years ago Wants to be back in So welcome so those are the three that are in Everything else from now on is still up for grabs. We have not decided we have other entries. We have entries to choose from. Justin: Yes. We have emailed you back if you if you have received a confirmation if you've sent us an email. Yes. So no need to resend. Yes, if you haven't got them. Jake: If you have received it send it again, but if I've I should have responded say I got it. Keep listening. So there's still a chance next week. We'll be picking probably three more be three more Yeah, right. And so we want to hear some common more from you more people Again funny is always good Funny works on us and I really want to know again I feel like I don't think the two of us dominating this league is really good for everybody So I think that we should get some people who know what the frick they're doing Justin: There's a couple that I've read that are like I'm a big-time fantasy football player So like I'm leaning towards some of those. Okay Jake: Yeah, I will have to toss a coin and who gets in next we have to fight out that with these three were so Out off the charts. So anyway, keep sending them in really appreciate podcast at check him calm all the roles we said will we back next week will talk about the Bengals game will talk about the lack of corners draft him yeah him and Ray Rice Definitely. Right, right, sure. Get them on your play. Get them on there. Alright, so we'll be back next week You can follow us on Twitter, but you already know that.
