Next he's going to be a quarterback. So I think to smother their run game and MJD and Daira McFadden and whoever else they're going to have back there, just make that a non-factor immediately and say, you know what, this is just like last year, we are one of. the top three run defenses out there. You're not gonna run on us. You can run 50 times in this, not running the 100 yards. It's not happening. Smother that immediately and make the guy throw. I think that's kind of a key keep in mind they have Austin Howard Coming back a revenge game. I believe he plays guard for for Oakland Okay, he obviously was our right tackle for the last two years He started every game in the last two seasons. He will be playing. I think he plays right guard for them Which is interesting because I mean he was a bigger dude. Like to me he was he had the physique of a guard. Yeah It was a good tackle. I thought um Just a little tidbit nothing to do really the key to the castle but key the castle be blow him up. Yeah I mean, I think you know again, I I tend to and for those who are new to the podcast I tend to When it comes to the keys to the castle, I stick to very similar themes and I believe, you know, the trenches is where the game is won. So if our defensive line and our offensive line can play better than their counterparts, I feel like we have a chance to win every game. You know, sometimes you end up playing guys like Manning where it doesn't matter. You're not going to as good as your defensive line is. You're not going to get to him because he's going to get the ball off. So goddamn quickly anyway. But for rookies, that they're like, we're talking about fractions of a second here, where, you know, you saw it last year with Geno's like, shit, this a guy gets sacked a lot. Well, yeah. Because it takes him half a second more to find a guy open or he's staring a guy down or whatever. and take Drop back on first down and good things will happen. So final score 24-10. Okay. So I don't think that's gonna happen But the key but you know we have to score so I I just really want to see it think this will be like just very similar to last year's Oakland game where it was Matt McGloin Going remember how like in the whole game. It was just like Whatever. I really, But I think on the offense I really want to see. I'm more excited just to see like all the pieces on the chessboard at the same time for more than like 3 series. So what are some things that you think you might see out of this offense that they haven't? Showcase I don't think I don't think that's this type of I don't think we're into that You know Schottenheimer like you're gonna see a lot of stuff. I don't think you see a lot of stuff I have I have a prediction or two. I think you're gonna see a Great screen game. I Think it's I don't know if you'll see at this game But I think we're gonna you're gonna start me you have these players who can do this they're gonna want to come in and sack the shit out of Gino and like some some and then you know throwing a quick one over to to Johnson and he can take it. And if he just has one guy miss him, you're fucked. I guess that's what I'm. It's like, a real football team. I want to see a real offense that like has good weapons. all of the place. We have good I think they're gonna be hard to stop once they get running. So I think that you might see this play occur in three different ways. But I think in one way shape or form you're gonna see Chris Johnson split out wide as a wide receiver and I think you're gonna see him sprinting across the formation in motion. And we saw this in the preseason.

Gino Smith Smith in shotgun, Chris the same situation but more of a wildcat where it's Bo'al Powell taking the direct snap with Chris Johnson coming across the field and no Chris Ivory- right- so in this situation it's you know just one guy standing there direct snap to Bo'al-Powell. handed to Chris Johnson or not. I also think there's a third variety of this play which is a true like option where Chris Johnson again is sprinting across the field, snaps it to Gino, fakes it to Johnson, and then runs a legitimate option. the other way like starts and just being handed the ball and sweeping around R.N. And that's where he's... Other times there's... And that moves the whole team the other way. And where it's really going to be nice and it'll mix in with your little scenario. You're going to have him sprinting that one way. All the way. Let's just say he's moving from right to left. Boom! Gino fakes it to him. and Powell's in the backfield. Everyone goes with...with Johnson. The other guys are coming across the formation the offensive lineman meanwhile leak and go the other way screen to Powell right the other direction Oh, yeah, that to me is a play. Yeah, I'm kind of thinking through this now Just all the scenarios of Johnson kind of running across the field and it's like holy shit. This opens up so many things, right? Think we're gonna see that more than a few. This this this in this game and that's gonna be a part of our offense. I Hope so. That's our keys the castle man.
