16 Jake: This is episode number 38 of the Jet Kingdom podcast for Tuesday, December 9th, 2008. West Coast Blue. Well, welcome to Jet Kingdom Podcast. As always, on this side of the digital aisle, it's Jake, and on the other side, joining me live, or live recorded on Podcastland, is my good buddy Justin. Justin, how you doing? Thanks. You want to just do the whole thing for me? I could, it'd probably be a better show if I did. You know what, I'm just going to take a nap. Because that's what the Jets did. They took a nap. Oh, good segue into the game that was the first segment of the podcast, which we have to talk about. I don't want to. I never want to talk about these games after we lose, especially this one. You know what? It did suck, but I will say I was actually looking forward to the podcast today because I felt like I could get it off my chest. Oh, wait. Justin: I don't want this to be like a therapy session or like... Oh, no, no. Because people won't even want to listen to this. People love us. Yeah, but people don't like listening to us bitch about the Jets losing. Jake: All right, let's talk about the game because this is an important game. The end score was the Jets lost to 1424. The San Francisco 49ers and this guy called Sean Hill. Do you know what happened? Do you know what happened? Justin: I figured it out. My roommate and I, we were talking about this. apparently. Before the game sometime or perhaps last night the 49ers kidnapped Eli Manning and switched on switched him with Sean Hill and hence the loss for the Giants yesterday and the poor play and Hence Sean Hill going out there and looking, you know like a Manning Jake: I mean in every way dominated we had 182 yards they had 375 yards They had a time possession of 20 minutes. They had 39 minutes. They killed us Justin: They did to us what we did to the Titans. They controlled the wall. They controlled the clock. They threw nice short you know and they were going down the field I'm not even saying short they they were going down the field this guy yeah they were had a really nice game I was just waiting for them to make you know the mistake and you know you know you could say the ball just wasn't bouncing our way because what did they fumble like five times and what did we get one of them I mean right they
04 Justin: did like to fumble the ball and he threw a pick I mean there could have been you know we could turn them over. You know, four or five times and we only turned him over twice And that you know, those are the keys in the game those those little bounces, you know, yeah Jake: Yeah, but that's the thing. I mean yes, you could go back and you could say there's a call here They're clearly the call against Laverne's Coals, you know, pulling back the touch that would have given us a go-ahead score. I mean, there's certainly things that, you know, drops and things like that. But that's the thing. That's what makes—that's in any given Sunday. That's what makes the difference between a good team and a bad team, is it— those things go your way, but they don't always go your way because it's luck. They go your way because you're a better managed, coached, intelligent, smart team that has talent out there that's not going to drop the balls. You're not, Lavernius Coles is dropping balls. You're not Keller who's dropping balls. I mean our number one receiver was stuckie Stucky yards, that's our number one receiver and you'll want if I told you this if I said here's some stats did hey Justin Here I know you didn't watch the game yesterday, but did we win or lose this game? Here's the stats Brett Favre 20 for 31 and 137 yards one interception Thomas Jones ten attempts for 56 yards Chancy our number one receiver chancee Stucky with four receptions for 43 yards zero interceptions You would probably go, yee. Oh, and Jericho Kottry, one reception for 10 yards. You'd be like, yeah, I think you got fucking smacked around. I think you lost that game big time. And you know what? We did. It was nice having David Harris back. He was involved in half a sack. But this game was just it was like they were sleepwalking. It was like they were the Jets of 2000. I mean, they just weren't there. Brett Favre looked old and out of sorts, he's like, I don't know where people are. Our receivers in the same way. All his long throws just went nowhere. And it was just a horrible game. It's one of those games that, I don't know, it's so frustrating that… You're sitting there screaming at the field like, or sort of the screen going, what the F, why is it that this team can't manage just to put away these bad teams, the Raiders, the 49ers, I mean the Chiefs we squeaked by, it really sucks. And here's the problem with this. Okay, so. Here's my upcoming prediction, or my upcoming prediction by our upcoming problem. If we can't put away good teams, or can't put away bad teams, well, guess who we just meet in the next two weeks? Bad teams. Seahawks. Two bad teams. And if we have problems with West Coast teams, guess who we meet in two weeks? A West Coast team. video. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time. If we have a problem with four o'clock games, guess what we have in two weeks? A four o'clock game on the west coast. So it's like everything's just leading up to us and now with the dolphins and Patriots
04 Jake: both winning, you know, we have a three-way tie at the top. Basically we have to win out. It just sucks. It just sucks. It's like why do the Jets have to do this to me? You know, are we going to make the playoffs? Maybe. be? Maybe not, but it's still like we had the chance with these last two games to put it away the sleepwalking They're now blaming the media's border. The Jets are blaming that they started talking about the Super Bowl It's like seriously, that's not what happened on the field. It wasn't someone screaming Super Bowl the whole time Anyway, you're done. I'm done. You're done Good lord. I feel some fetter. Wow. I'm gonna have another sip of my beer. Justin: Alright, that'll be $100. I'll see you next week. I mean, really. That was... Alright. You know, aren't you a jet fan? Yes! So this is what the Jets do. Like, yeah, but I'm tired of being bent over and kicked in the nuts. Oh, please. The Jets do that. It's part of being a jet fan. It's kind of like the fun part. It's not. Wait! The what parts? It's like the fun of being a Jetfan! It's like being a Red Sox fan pre-2004. You know they're just gonna ultimately just let you down, but it's a fun ride while you're on it. And it's, you know, God. I think it's just part of being a Jetfan, man. You just have to deal with it. I mean, I'm just glad I'm a Yankee fan, so I get to see some winning in my life. But, you know, good lord! This is what they do and you just have to deal with it. Eight and five is not the end of the world. No, it's not. You said, oh, you're bad teams. No, we do have eight wins, so we did beat some bad teams along the way. Barely. And we lost to bad teams. Yeah, but we've also beaten them. We've beaten these Buffalo Bills in the past and we're going to face them again. Jake: You know what? They were probably a better team when we beat them than they are now. Justin: I think we're going to beat them again. I know I hope the fuck we do. Jake: But the point is, look at the teams we beat. We beat bad teams. I understand. But you know what? We lose. We lose to bad teams. Justin: Five is eight and five and tied for first in the division through. Through 13 games is still tied for first in the division through 13 games, no matter how you got there. You have to start fresh now. You don't look at the past. You look at the next game and that's it. And you're playing the bills and you're home. Jake: But it's where you're going and where your streak is. Are you streaking up or streaking down? Right now the Jets are plummeting. So can they turn it around? Justin: Yeah but the key is not to streak either way. You just play. You play the next game. in. Jake: Right, but if you don't work, if you don't figure out what you did wrong, then you do it again. So they got to figure out what they're doing wrong in these games, whether it's the, you know, Justin: they're eight and five. They're not five and eight. They're eight and five. It's okay. They're eight and five. That's a good thing. They're tied four first. Jake: Yeah, but we had the first place locked. If we had it, and we probably had a buy locked,
00 Jake: and we could have won this two games, now we're fighting for the frickin' AFC East. All right, that's that. Justin: We're going to fight it. We're not going to just lay down. Jake: I'm not saying give up. I'm just saying it's just frustrating that they had it. And it's not like we went up against. It's not like we were eight, we were whatever, six and five. And then we went up against. Just Or sorry Donald who were eight and three and then went up against the Patriots and the and the Titans and we lost to both Of them or the or the Patriots in Indy and we lost to those teams. Yeah, that would be you know, okay Well, you went up against some really good teams But the thing that makes a good team good is that you have to win against the teams that you should win against and then You have to win against some of the teams that are you want to know what's a good thing? Justin: I'm looking at I'm now kind of I'm over it. Okay. And I'm yeah, I'm looking to Tuesday. Dude, look, I can be over it. I'm looking to the future. We have the bills and here's some some good things. Some some things. No, no, no, let's not let's not talk about the bills. I'm not talking about the bills, dude. I'm not talking about the bills. Let me finish. I'm looking at the standings. Okay. Looking at the standings. And I'm seeing that we're tied for first at the top of our division at eight and five with the Pats in Miami. Both at eight and five. I'm looking at the rest of the AFC. And there's only, there's only, you know, us three in the AFC East, jets, pats, and dolphins. Ah, nice. Jets, pats, and dolphins. And then you look at in the north, you have the Ravens and the Steelers. And then in the south, Tennessee's got it kind of locked up. It's the Colts. And then the west is just the Broncos, right? So when you look at potential wild card teams of there, we're still obviously well positioned for the division. But just looking at the playoffs in general, we have the teams in our division, the Pats, the Dolphins, the Ravens. and the Colts. And when you look at the Ravens schedule, moving forward next week, they play Pittsburgh. The week after that, they have to go really good. They have to go to Dallas. And then they play Jacksonville at home, which is kind of that's a crappy team to play last game in the schedule because they suck for us. But I believe that. You know, maybe Jacksonville can pull something out of there. Ask for that one. So looking at Baltimore, their schedule looks like a 10 and six finish, right? Then you got the Colts. They're nine and four. They're a game ahead of us at the moment. They have Detroit coming up, which is a layup. Yeah, at Jacksonville, who always give them problems in division at Jacksonville and Tennessee to finish. which could be a game Tennessee won't be playing exactly so they they look like a Jake: eleven and five finish let's say which is what we would be Justin: if we win every game there you go so let's just win
02 Justin: I think we're in the playoffs if we just win two out of three I think two out of three gets us the playoffs we have to win three after three Jake: Look, look who are, look who are the upcoming- Justin: As long as we beat the Dolphins and the Bills, I think we're in. Jake: But no, because the Miami then has to lose a case, they have to lose against San Francisco. But we'll beat them. Yeah, that's gonna happen. But why not? Justin: San Francisco just beat the Bills. Jake: No, they just beat us. And they beat the Bills and us so why can't they so what so Miami beat San Diego And we got cream by San Diego it doesn't matter anyway They got the bills that Casey then they get us you know they're gonna win I'm sorry they got four to 49ers and Casey then they asked you know they're gonna win against the 49ers You know where they're gonna win against Casey we can Justin: I mean yeah sure they can have a big letdown out there why not here's I mean who knows who knows who knows Chad better Jake: Herm and then Arizona and then New England's got at Oakland. OK, maybe they're just on the road tired and Oakland catches them. I could maybe see that one. Oakland sucks. But maybe they catch them, right? Oakland's kind of like we're playing for whatever the fuck. Whatever. Then then Arizona comes to New England. Maybe Arizona lights them up with a huge pass. Justin: Yeah, the only problem is Arizona's got their. their division lock. They're there. They've already clinched their division. They are the division champion. Jake: But at least it's not the last week. The last week you have the last week they played Buffalo. Now they're not going to lose to Buffalo. Well, that's good. Oh, it's in. Justin: Hey, that is a game that is a potential loss for the Pats. I'm sorry. That's a game Buffles and me playing their fucking ass off for. Why? For what? Were they in division last game of the season division home ruin the past season? Jake: That's what they want to do. Just like we just like we lost them. Anyway, let's talk. Let's go back to the game. I don't know anything. Don't say this game. No, no, we're going to do. We're going to do our segments, baby. Two segments. We're gonna play Jake and Justin's play the game You're gonna pick the offensive play the game offensive play the game was Justin: Can I pick a special teams play the Sure, all right. I'm gonna pick a play that signifies the game to me which was that botched special teams option pitch from Brad Oh To Leon that's the play the game seriously. Well, we lost so it's got to be a negative downer play and that's Picking because it said it to me. It was like We just couldn't get it going in this game. It was like, it was like, come on, come on, like, get a turnover. Oh, they forced the fumble, but they didn't get it. It's like,
00 Jake: oh, if that pitch would have just went right, that's twice that Brad Smith's. Do you think that was, do you think that was designed pitch? Yeah, definitely. Do you think it was designed? Justin: I think it was a designed option. I don't necessarily think it was designed definitely pitch it. I think it was a designed if if that side of the field looks open It's here. It's an option for you option pitch like as if you're running the wildcat and option it uh, but again More practice for brad smith pitching the ball. I think every jet fan is in agreement. No more pitches from brad smith this year Uh ever that's two two in a row No three strikes, two is enough. And he got lit up. I don't know if that was... Was that later in the game? Or was that before that? Because do you remember when he got just completely lit up by... ...DAT WILLIS? Over the middle? Oh my god. He was like sitting there on his knees. That was a pretty huge hit. Anyway, that's my play of the game. It's on special teams because I think it set the tone for the Jets. Jake: Yeah, that sucked. Thanks for picking a downer. I'm gonna play a good defensive play of the game and it was the David Bowens interception in the third quarter. You know, I mean, this was a chance that we had the chance to come around and turn around at that point. David Bowens sticks his big hands out there and intercepts. Peyton man, I mean, sorry sean hill and that was eli it was eli and eli and that was good So that was a good play the game and now since the jets lost in our last segment of this game Then we will move on forever ever Let's do the uh, let's pick your fools. So uh Justin: I'll go why don't you go offense because uh you picked defense for the for the play Jake: Alright, well offense is just going to be too frickin' easy. Go for it. It's got to be, again, it's got to be the guy who, you know, isn't showing up. You know, you look around at who showed up. Did Brett Favre show up? Yeah, he showed up. He wasn't great. He was cruelly average. Lee Ann Washington basically is a special teams guy now at this point. I mean, that's his thing. Thomas Jones, I don't know why they didn't give it to him longer. Me neither. Justin: That stat line is odd to me. Jake: Why? Ten only get 10 5.6 yards. Why is he only get 10 10? Means he's running 5.6 yards per carry. Justin: I know. Why didn't he have more touches? Jake: That was for the guy who just sucks again. And you gave him the full last week. I'm giving him this week. I want this guy to serve our team next year. Is is fucking Lavergne's calls, man. Stop dropping the ball. He's listening. Yeah, I know you hate him. He listens. Yeah, we hate you Lavernius Justin: We hate you. I hope he responds well to negative stuff Jake: That's true You fucking suck and if you ever talk shit again against to the opposing press we're all coming down Justin: Yeah, screw you Lavernius. I can't even spell your name Jake: Alright, so who is your defensive fool again?
03 Justin: My defensive fool of this game. I I want to give it to you know One person but it's for the whole line. I'm gonna give it to Calvin pace Where is this guy gone? Like we did not get one I mean, what did we sack him once maybe twice twice two sacks two sacks. That's not enough but You have to have consistent pressure on the quarterback to make him a little nervous to make him You know not feel comfortable not allow him to do seven and nine step drops. I mean, what the hell is this? we did not get to the quarterback and And this guy pace. I where is he gone? Like has he gotten a sack, you know in a while like I don't understand, you know, what the deal is. He started off like, you know, pretty well, you know, from what I can remember, he had a bunch of sacks in the beginning of the season and then all of a sudden he's he's kind of disappeared. I'm looking at his season stats right now. He has five sacks. I remember he had like four through like four games. So I don't understand. I'm giving it to him because of that. And that's it. That's all I have to say on that matter. Jake: Alrighty, well let's move on to the game that put that game behind us forever and ever. Let's move on to in other kingdoms and let's first talk a little bit about probably one of the, I mean there's lots of news always in the NFL, you know, this week actually the NFL laid off people which is kind of interesting. That happened yesterday. There was a... big announcement hit the wires that they laid off some staff. I don't know why the NFL would actually be hitting a downturn, but maybe they are. This stuff with drugs and people not playing and particle bursts and all that kind of stuff, but I think the more interesting kind of little side note is, do you think the... Detroit Lions at this point 0 and 13 will go 0 and 16 and let me first tell you who they're gonna play So this Sunday they play at Indianapolis at 1 p.m. The Sunday after that they play New Orleans comes to them so a dome team play another dome team and then they finish up December 28th, you know against You just imagine how cold this is gonna be at Green Bay. Oh, yeah all all want to clock games Do you see the Lions going on 16? What was that first game again? Justin: At Indy. Yeah, they're not winning that game because Indy's in playoff push right now. That would be us. That would be you
00 Justin: I don't think they're gonna win a game. I mean, I watch them play on Thanksgiving the day that they're supposed to play well Jake: The day and they're like they're like supposed to play they're supposed to play well one day a year literally Justin: They're pathetic. I mean they they don't have a running game. They don't have an offensive game. They basically have a receiver And if they just, they hit him once a game on a long play. I've seen the stats, that's what happens. He gets like a 50 yard catch every game for a touchdown. Jake: All right, make a guess. What do you think the line is for the Colts game right now? Justin: Right now, 17 and a half. Jake: It is exactly 17 and a half. Wow. That's very good. Did you know that? No, I just guessed. Justin: I've done that before where you've, yeah. I figured. It's gotta be like at least free scores and then the hook. Jake: Yeah, see, I would pick that game, because normally teams don't lose by 17 and a half. Because after you get. Alright, yeah. I totally agree. I think that they're, I mean, you know, watching the Dolphins last year and. The wife has been lamenting over the Detroit line. She's like, I know how they feel. I know how they feel because she's a dollar fan. They went to this last year. I think they won on their 14th or 15th game last year because I know they went and went 13. But you know, you just look at that schedule and I mean at Indy, they're not winning that game. Norleans come in. Norleans again, Norleans is kind of, they're still in the hunt, I think. For the playoffs, they have to have some help. But again, they're gonna play strong. And again, if they were an outdoor team, if you're playing Norleans in the Northeast, I could maybe see it, but indoors in the dome and. in Detroit, no way. And then at Green Bay, you can't imagine, either of Green Bay's playing crappy, the last game of the season, in the cold, they're going to play OK. They're going to play OK. Justin: I just don't see them winning a game. No, they're not. They're not going to win a game. Jake: So there'll be the second team in the history of the NFL to go win this. I think the first team, if I have my. Uh... That's correct to go on 16 because I think that wasn't the buck in the air box. I believe one on 14 Yeah on 14, right? So this would be the first team anyway So and then we'll talk a little bit about what happened to some other teams that we know and hate Justin: And it seems that we needed to lose they didn't Jake: Yeah, I mean, so the Seahawks and the Patriots, we both picked the Patriots to win. The Patriots did win. Yeah, they came back. But they didn't win. They didn't win convincingly. They certainly had their problems. Justin: Yeah, but I, again, I saw that they had the ball with like seven minutes left and I looked over. Alright. to my roommate who I was watching the jet game with and I was like, ah, we're fucked. They're gonna win. And they did. Fuck. Jake: Just a bad day.
01 Jake: Yeah, Matt Castle kind of got it done. It certainly wasn't a brilliant performance. They barely had any, West Walker, 134 yards. How many catches? Justin: Ah, well. He's a really good possession receiver in the slot. I mean, they just use him in such unique, interesting ways. It was kind of, you know, to be honest, the San Francisco 49ers used Isaac Bruce a lot in the same way that the Pats used Wes Welker, just running those little underneath, like ins and outs and little things from the slot that, you know, if you get man coverage underneath, he's going to beat you. And that happened to us, and Wes Welker does that to a lot of people. Jake: And you just, I mean, that thing, that's a lose-lose for the Jets, right? Because, well, three loses. Lose because it didn't go the way we wanted. Lose because the Patriots won. Lose because the Seattle actually looked okay and kept it in there, right? If they'd lost like 30- Justin: With Seneca Wallace, by the way. Not with Matt Hasselbeck. Jake: No, I know, but I mean it's lose, lose, lose because we have to go play this team. They look at they playing okay. They're not laying down and dying yet, which we wish they would. And the Patriots are looking, they're winning games. Justin: Yeah, but you know what? You know what the really fucked up thing is that happened this past weekend? What? I'm glad we're explicit. Were marked explicit so no kids are listening Why the fuck did the Buffalo Bills go north to play inside Yeah, so let's talk. Let's talk about that. That's the next thing me off the Buffalo Bills go North Like Buffalo's not north enough or cold to play a team from Southern Miami in a dome. What I love is that you didn't know this. I didn't even know that this was a dome. I knew they were playing in Toronto. I knew this for a fact. I did not know that they were playing inside in Toronto. Why would they do that? Why would the Bills agree to that? Their advantage in December. at home is that teams like Miami who like to play and practice in 80 degree, 90 degree sun have to go play in zero. Jake: Yep. No, I don't understand that thing I showed you or I said that was fun when they showed the like that they showed a shot of Ralph, Ralph, uh, Ralph Wilson. Walf Wilson Stadium in Buffalo and they showed it and they showed the temperature gauge and it was one degree and then they went windy And they went up to and they went all the way up They kind of showed it on the map and they went up to the the indoor dome It was 72 degrees in the dome and you're like Yeah, who would ever Well again, it was probably it was the NFL and the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Bills are trying to pick up some more fans I mean, I agree that I do it do it for the third or fourth game in the season or Demand that the thing be open. I mean, it's it's a it's an open-air stadium. They could have opened it up
03 Jake: I didn't they do it at least dropped it to 30. I don't know because I mean it's played football top probably because the fans didn't want it or something yeah so pathetic i know but you're not a true fan i mean here's the thing they're not Justin: even the real fans and i i heard on whatever the hell highlight show i was watching that like a quarter of the place was cheering for the dolphins i mean that's stupid that's that's like ridiculous and i'm really upset because it affects us like wow and here we are cheering for you the bills but we needed them. to pull off a game here for us. Well now now they can stop pulling off. Here's the good news of the Jake: of the uh of the bills and again we're just hoping here JP lost 13 of 27 for 123 yards. 123 yards one interception so no zero zero touchdowns one interception. He sucks. The March on Lynch is really great runner 13 attempts 31 yards. Justin: Yeah, well those are the numbers that Thomas Jones was putting up last year Jake: 31 yards Lost and ran for more yards than he did you know had a longer than he did lost been starting next week, right? Justin: Like he's the start of the rest of the year Don't know that I think he's just Jake: uh who's lost him it's out you mean yeah i don't know i don't think so all right well let's let's kill off the uh the other kingdoms and let's go right into drones excellent yourself god i i hope people really that that's really bad i'm glad you've had at Justin: least one or two beers otherwise you wouldn't be smiling Jake: I'm working on my third here. So let's talk about the upcoming games. We got some games coming up here, which will be fun. I think the first game we should pick would be, I'm trying to look at week 15. OK, well, let's pick the San Francisco 49ers who just beat the fuck out of us, fine down to Miami, to hopefully, if everything is right in the world, beat up on the Miami Dolphins. Justin: Yeah, if everything is right and holy in this world, that's what would happen. You know what? But it's not. I just watched San Francisco play, so they looked really good to me. Did they not look like a decent team to you? Like at least on offense and their defense? Jake: Like... Justin: You know, they had... I don't know, they have coals though that they could have been beaten by us. I think Miami's gonna beat them. It's sad to say. Oh, Miami. Yeah. Shit. Uh... Heh heh heh heh heh. I think it's gonna be a really low-scoring game though, like a 13-10 finish. Jake: 13. Okay. Yeah, I, you know, everything in this is, this is when we get to the heart versus, heart versus mind. There's no way your mind could say that this team is going to win, you know, that Miami
03 Jake: Dolphins are going to lose at home against the 49ers who have to travel all the way across. But again, again, you wouldn't expect any of this other stuff to happen. No, the Dolphins are going to win. They're going to win. You know what? I'm just going to reverse the scores from what, how we got beat. 49ers, 14. Dolphins 24 dolphins win and keep hope alive and you know, I Chad has been playing amazingly I wish the best of luck again, you know, he's a great player. I'm A good quarterback a great player a great guy. I wish in the best of luck, but I wish him to lose a couple more games Although I mean again, I'm I mean he's had a long winning streak here. I mean, I don't actually Let's look at the winning streak because that would be interesting. Justin: That would be rather interesting. Actually they only have a two-game winning streak but they've won like six of their last seven. So you know they only lost to New England. But you know what those those wins I mean you know. Only one of them is over a really good team. At Denver, that's a really good win. The other wins, not so impressive. But Philo at home, Seattle at home, Oakland at home, and that win over Seattle was by two, the win over Oakland was by two. At St. Louis by four. You know, these aren't... Not like they're... awesome or like you know some great team they're just winning games by the skin Jake: of their teeth so no I said it before and I think that the dolphins really remind me of the 2006 Jets they have an easy schedule because the last place had the same quarterback They're playing with tricks and stunts and also they're playing with like they actually have the they have the running core They don't have the receiving core. We didn't have a we didn't we had the receiving core We didn't have the running core, but you know Just playing with whatever guys out there and they're winning and you know, I hope they don't Justin: Playing pretty well for them this guy best He's playing he stepped in for chem real there. They have a couple guys who are playing pretty well Whatever, they're well coached, they're well, you know, they have a philosophy that they stick to and that's that. Jake: And then we have the new and the Patriot staying out on the West Coast. Mistake. And playing Oakland Raiders. It's interesting, what other team, trivia quiz, what other team this year actually stayed on the opposite coast for two games straight? And what happened to those two games? They lost them both. This is a big mistake. Justin: I disagree with this completely. Really, I know it's a very hard trip and I know you would never want to make it. two weeks in a row, which is really shitty on the NFL's part for making them do it, but thank you. Thank you very much. But I don't think the Pats are going to win this game. I'm picking that with my brain and not with my heart. I think staying out there and doing this is very difficult. They lost Bursky.
02 Jake: Yeah, they got Sayo. Justin: Sayo's old and he hasn't played. He looked really lost. Yeah, he did and he hasn't played and he's old. It's hard enough for somebody I can't play to just step in and start playing. It's even harder for a guy his age and now he's going to have to play even more. And he's now, you know, he just joined the team. And now he's on the West Coast for two weeks. Like, you know, I don't know if that affects him. He might even live there. He played with San Diego forever. But I think he does. But but, you know, I I don't think they're going to win. I think Oakland's actually going to put up some points. It's going to be a 24 17. they're gonna do their own they're gonna try their damnedest to shut Randy Moss up Jake: you know nothing better could happen in the world but I don't think that's what's gonna happen again Raiders Raiders are a flaky team I don't even know if if wasn't what's his face Marcus Jamarcus Russell heard cares yeah I mean after that's a big deal but still their backup is like some guy I don't see it I don't see doing the losing I think they'll beat up on them just like they should beat up on in fact I think they're probably pissed off that they didn't that they just barely won in In Seattle so and I see this like a 2810 and I think Patriots win. I think we differ on that one Yeah, there's a there's a differ by the way this next game Justin: The one you're about to say yeah, let's not even bother jets are gonna win 51 three Jake: move on 51 oh sorry three defense they're doing them running it down to one three the Justin: bills are gonna score like in the fourth quarter or like a minute and a half left yeah no i this Jake: is a tough game again you never want to play a divisional flow it doesn't matter again no matter how bad you are you play a division rival and you usually put up something It'll really depend on who's playing. I mean, if it's JP Lassman, I think we have a much better chance of just confusing the heck out of him. If it's the other guy, Edwards, you know. Justin: Yeah, he's kind of tough, Edwards, but JP Lassman sucks. He really sucks. And I gotta be honest with you, I do not see us losing this game at all. in the beginning of the season when we picked I know I said we'll lose this game. The bills at home, we will lose. I'm reversing that. We will not lose this game. We will win this game by a lot. Maybe not 51-3, but somewhere close. Jake: I don't think it'll be. I think we'll win the game. I think it'll be. I don't think they'll get much of a score. I mean, I think we'll get it, and then it'll be coming back and forth. But I think we'll always have to lead. You know what I don't want to see? time. The Jets are favored by 7. I don't know. I see this as a 1726. Jets win. Justin: 1726. That'll be 2617. Okay. Jake: Well, Jets are at home. You know what I don't want to see?
01 Justin: And you and I will both be there. We're going to this game. I'll be wearing my hunting gear. Well, it's not supposed to be that cold. Jake: It's supposed to be like 45 degrees. Oh really? Justin: And sunny. I'll spare the hunting gear then. Anyway. I don't want to see the us the fans and I know I don't do this I never boo the Jets I don't want to see the fans get on the Jets like if we don't score on the first drive or like oh, yes, you know You know if if if the bills come out and score on the first drive or something like that happens. I don't want to see the fans get down because We have to, as jet fans, be positive and behind them for this game they need us for this game. Jake: Yeah, no, I agree. Justin: Because jet fans are fickle. We will brew you off the field if you don't score. Jake: I'll see if this just crap plays. If I see it, I'll say what? Okay, okay. Well, there you go. If I see Brad Smith to a toss, I'm booing. And if I see a bad, you know, call, meaning a bad ref call like a... Justin: Well, that's not booing at the Jets. You can boo the refs. Jake: I don't generally boo the Jets. If I boo the Jets, I'm not really booing the Jets, I'm booing like the play call. or that it wasn't the play that I would have made. Either they didn't go for it or they went for it or something like that. Actually, they rarely boo when you do go for it. They only boo when you don't go for it. Anyway, I hope it's a good game. We're going to be there. Damn straight. Let's get loud. Let's get the whole stadium rocking. And let's leave on a positive note. So on that very fine note, let's get down to this freaking thing. Let's beat up on the Bills. Let's hope that every other game turns our way. Let's get back into the, well, we are on the hunt, but let's get down there and win the East. And let's get a home game. And let's go as far as we can in the playoffs. And for all that, I say. day. Let's go Jats! you
