09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Can't wait! Jake: Welcome to J- Kingdom podcast, longest running New York Jet podcast on the internet ever. Boy, if you had only heard the beginning to this podcast that was unrecorded. Why did we record that? Yeah, we should have recorded it. That was dumb. I'm Jake and joining me is Justin. And that's all I'm gonna say. We were not in the green on today's podcast, so we're just gonna dig in. Here's what they... This is our pre-draft podcast. The draft is tomorrow for the New York Jets and all the other teams in the National Football League. Like last year, it's starting on a Thursday. So... That is it's doing a Thursday night prime time at 8 so we figured we would do a podcast the day before So we could talk about the draft what we were expecting maybe make some predictions Maybe talk more about it. Maybe not so that's where we're kind of are. What do you think Justin? What do you want to do today? What's your great idea of broadcaster? It sounds also Broadcasting power to this this podcast this week What do you want me to do? No! Bring it! Bring the broadcasting power! Bring the organization! I actually wasn't listening to you. What was I supposed to do? Oh yeah, you forgetting what you're supposed to do? I'm not as unheard of! It's unheard of! You ready? Damn ready as I'm gonna be! Let's go! All right! Let's do this podcast! Okay, so first up in the news, we already know the number one pick. We do. We also know number two, don't we? So as everybody in the world knows, Andrew Luck is going to be, because now the cults have announced it. They have announced that they're picking Andrew Luck. Um, which- So much for the suspense. Yeah. It wasn't really all that suspenseful. Some blogs have posted that they thought that RG3 was going to go to cults. Not a chance. I didn't think that was going to happen. The last first round pick of the cults was Peyton Manning. They got rid of Peyton Manning. The last first overall. Sorry, first overall. And then now they have the first overall again, and they're going to pick another franchise player. Yep. And we know who's going number two. Yeah. RG3 is going number two. Washington didn't give up two first rounders and a second rounder to move up to get an offensive tackle. They did that for RG3. So we know the first two picks. Let's just talk about those, because the jets don't pick until 16. No. Now. But let's talk about what we're gonna pick number four. We're gonna make predictions. Let's make predictions All right. We'll just do them on the fly. We could have spent a lot of time thinking about this and does research Well, maybe you did I will do what I did you do what you do Let's make some predictions you make some predictions. We'll see what happens. All right. Let's do that
05 Jake: All right, so I predict Andrew goes the cult. What's your prediction? RG3 goes to the red skin. So what are the Vikings doing, number three? No, no, no. Let's talk about those two picks. What do they do? No, no, no. I want to talk about the first two picks. Thoughts on the... Angela, I know... I think he's going to be fantastic. Fantastic. Super Bowl winning quarterback. Potentially. On episode 397. we'll be talking about yeah he seems like he's i mean i've watched i watched a couple of his games at stamford he looks really good he's i saw his john gruden qb camp which i'm addicted to that shows awesome he was pretty good um he seems smart as all hell he's tall he's big he's got a great army. He can throw, he makes every throw. He seems like he's as real the deal as anyone could be. It's interesting because you go back and you look all the number one overall picks that were quarterbacks. Back to just going all the way. You can even not go all the way back. You can just go back to Peyton Manning, or Drew Bledsoe, or Troy Aitman, like that late 80s or something. There's some Troy Aikman's, there's some Peyton Manning's, right? There's, there's, you know, Brian Leifs. Well, he was number two. There's some, you know, Drew Bledsoe's. There's some Eli Manning's, all very good quarterbacks. Some three of those have won Super Bowls. I'm sure there were some other number ones. But then there's also Russell. and Tim Couch and David Gar. You're like, oh shit, this isn't totally. Alex Smith? Yeah, Alex Smith. I mean, this isn't totally. No science. No, there's no like, and a lot of the times there's, you know, first pick, second pick, there's like that next guy. So it's like. David Card and Joey Harrington went like third or fourth or whatever. All right. Um, and Tim Dowd's thing, Eli Manning and Ben Raltsberg way down the road. Phil Rivers. Phil Rivers. It's, it's, I feel as if luck, luck feels more to me like manning both of them. Eli and Peyton where it's like, okay, this guy's gonna be good. RG3. feels more like a maybe a Russell no no a maybe young Vince young or I feel like he's just more of a yeah you're just going to black guys okay I feel like he's maybe just he's more of a maybe like he doesn't feel like I feel very confident that Andrew Luck's gonna be very very good RG3 I feel like, don't you think this is and this is what I think that is everybody talks about it, but Generally the worst team the year before who's a bad team gets the number one pick So what happens is the team that could barely win a game and usually it's not just from the quarterback
02 Jake: We've always said you can win a lot of games with a good quarterback. You can have a great quarterback and still lose games. Like, so there's generally, it's not just the quarterback that makes you lose games. So you have the worst team in the league. They barely won any games, literally barely. They get the number one pick. This is general. This is not talking about the Colts. Then that number one pick goes onto a bad team that... for years can't protect them, who doesn't have any talent around them, who's generally maybe going in and out of head coaches and offensive and defensive coordinators, and basically just gets loft in the David Carr shuffle, and who really knows what they ever could have done because they're never given a chance. Well, some of them that happens and some of them it doesn't. I mean, look at look at guys like Trey Aikman. He went to a tear. That Cowboys team was terrible and they were amazing. on Not only his back, but you know, yeah, they threw the draft and through trades They put talent around him eventually same thing with guys like drew bledsoe in New England He went to a Super Bowl same thing with Eli I mean they they weren't they traded up but they were like they had like the fourth order one So it's not like they were any great shakes the Giants. They just put in organ It's it's really organizational because you can you can take You know you can be Oakland and fuck up DeMarcus Russell, or you can be the Giants and maybe make him what he should have been. So I don't know if it's all the guy, it's the guy and the situation. It's not always based on the year before. Like the Colts have a track record of now having done this, right? They did. They put the organization around Peyton Manning and went to the Super Bowl and he turned out to be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. So they can do this. Washington is a mess. I feel like that's a circumstance that's not a good one. I agree. The thing is, I think we have to look at Andrew Luck. with the eyes of where he's going and then is that the team? This is the challenge and I don't know it. I don't know the answer because I'm just a fan of the near chats but is the Colts the team that Peyton Manning was on that was a perennial playoff caliber 11 win year after year after year after year team? Is that that team that he's going to? Or is he going to the team that you take one guy away from your team and the team collapses, stops playing, fires a head coach, fires a general manager, and basically is going back to the scrap heap and possibly could be a really bad team. Like, I'm not at all convinced that... I mean this is the year right you're gonna see it. Denver Broncos Colts. Where are we gonna see? Are we gonna see one player lift a team up higher than they were and get farther than they were and making them a better team? Or are we gonna watch you know a team rally around a young guy and show
01 Jake: that they can be a better team? Can I say a little from column A, a little from column B? I mean the Colts are not, they're not. I mean they lost a lot of guys. They lost a lot of guys to they just cut them. They're basically starting over. So they're not the team With Peyton Manning from two years ago. They're not that team and they're not even close. They're they're completely different team at this point They're gonna be bad. They're gonna be bad. They were bad Peyton Manning's here. They're gonna be bad They're gonna win three games whatever Denver I think will be a better team but again they it's a different scenario they play a first place schedule it's like you know that's the way the cards fall and they have to play a tough really tough schedule the Colts don't Peyton Manning has played first place first place schedules almost every every year he's played yeah but he's well I mean that's what I'm saying. Since he became the Peyton Manning writers. Well his first year they only won like two or three games. They didn't play a first place schedule. But when he got into his groove, sure. But then he was really in his groove the team was built around him. So like I feel like that setup it could happen with Andrew Luck. For me RG3 is a big question mark. I saw him play once or twice in college. he seemed more athletic than quarterback to me like he he just felt like a college quarterback with a strong arm that can throw it down the field i don't know that's just what it felt like to me um we'll see i i think washington's is just a mess like that play they they can't win for nothing right well at least we know that these two quarterbacks And it's almost a lock that both of them we picked. We know now one, but the other one... They're both gonna start too. And we both know they'll start. So I think that's good for them, because I think the way to learn in this league, in this fast-paced league, it'd be great. It's great if you can sit behind Peyton Manning for six years, or F.A.R.V. or whatever. But the reality is, you've gotta get out there. The experience, you know, you need four years of experience, not four years of sitting behind the guy. I think it's more... It shows that guys get better in the fourth or fifth year after they're playing Promise well people don't get that chance because after four or five years of losing They start to look at changes and when they go draft the next guy, so it'll be interesting I feel like there's so much hype about this guy Wow It's gonna be hard to live up to of course this draft type draft type is always like awesome until you get to like Well, there's been hype around luck For a year and a half. I've heard people last year saying Bill stands I talked to last year I think I thought it was a lot of podcasts last year last time At the beginning last season it was like well He would have been the number one overall pick last year Right if he decided that he wanted to come out he could have been the number one last year Stupid him not to do that because last year they didn't have the CBA the new CBA and I don't think there were It's already kept so this is the year. This is interesting about this draft and this draft going forward is Now there's caps, and so the players aren't gonna go through these extraordinary bonuses
04 Jake: and stuff, and so basically there's rookie salary cap, which is great, which means that I think a lot of people are gonna trade around. So value's gonna be spread around more, the value of trading up or down is gonna be more, I think it's gonna be a shit ton more trades. I'm looking forward to it. I think we're gonna be one of them. I if I'm making ball, but we need to make ball predictions how long do you think how long do you think each one of those quarterbacks will last in the league bold prediction let's get on the paper I think we'll have a very good might be like any year 12 to 15 year old yeah RG 3 5 to 7 okay so you're saying it's gonna get banged around he's not that big he's like Mike Vick style size okay quick fat what do you think uh I feel like 10 to 12 years is such a long shot. I give them both, I give them like five and seven years. Keep in mind, I don't know if this is what you consider, David Carr's still in the league. Yeah, no, I'm thinking. Is that what you mean? He's not a starter. No, but he has a Super Bowl ring. Yeah, whatever. Yeah, I mean, I don't, again, if they have the patience. they could probably get something great. But nowadays it's very tough. NFL teams don't have patience anymore. As our own team doesn't have patience. No, no. As we have our, as we have our punt blocker Tim Tebow now. So, you know, whatever. He's going to be awesome at that. What else, so I think the one that I'm looking forward to, if we're gonna skip, I mean, yes, there's draft picks, there's whatever, there's predictions. But the one I'm looking forward to and the piece I'd like to hear about because it affects us the most. Yeah. Is really number eight. is the pick eight. Yeah you think they're gonna pick Tannehill? So this is the one that I've been reading about the most which is this Tannehill has just gone up like flown up in the draft right. There are there was even a segment where they showed uh was it the two ESPN guys McShay and Kip and Kiper and Kiper is like he's not a starter he's not a franchise and McShay's like how the dolphins don't pick them and I think it's one of those peer pressure picks. But that was Brady Quinn, they didn't do it. I mean there's been so many that have gone by them that they have not picked peer pressure. And they were right on that too. I don't know if they were Brady Quinn. Brady Quinn's another one he was not given a chance. But he's been given, he's been traded around, he gets different teams. That's not a chance. That's a chance you go to a different team you get another chance to try and prove yourself You go to a team that you're the you're the rookie and the starter and they give you two three years to put behind you He couldn't beat out Colt McCoy. He couldn't beat out Tim Tebow like he couldn't beat out. You know, he had chances I I think that that was a I don't know that to me was a miss I mean they picked a no, but they picked frickin Ted Jin jr. In that one like who who would have been better You know it looks like pretty Quinn's not Not a very good quarterback, so it doesn't really matter that didn't wish anyway
03 Jake: Yeah, well within a myth so what do you think do you think they're gonna go with the quarterback? I do yeah You think they pick down now? I do the knock on Tana Hills funny. It's like this guy Could be a franchise quarterback, but he needs seasoning. He's only played 16 games in college as a quarterback heard that before Yeah, Mark Sanchez. No kidding. It's like he should sit a year and like then don't be so hard on him till like... Right. Fuck off. Listen, I want them to pick a rookie. Me too, because I want to play a rookie. I want to play a rookie twice. Well we're playing Andrew Luck. Yeah. We know we're getting him. And we do it with the Redskins this year? No, we played them last year. So, yeah, I want to play rookie quarterbacks all day long. Me too. I want that rookie quarterback. Our defense against rookie quarterbacks. Absolutely. And if we get three games against, I feel that's three wins for us. Yeah. We should be able to confuse the room. But yeah, I think the Dolphins will pick Ryan Tannehill. What about Bills? Bills, and they signed, you know, Fitzpatrick. He kind of shit the bed at the end of the season. Is he gonna come back? Are they gonna go? Yeah. He was apparently injured the second half of the season. That's what everybody says when they keep up too well. Hey, this is what it is. Brett Favre was injured the second half of that jet season. Yeah. And he really was. And he really sucked. And then he came back the next year and played awesome for Minnesota. Fitzpatrick is not Brett Favre. But okay. No, I'm just saying it. It happens, people get hurt. Um, so alright, let's talk about the Jets. First round, 16th pick. Jets have a lot of picks. We got like a couple compensers. We have tons of picks. We have like 10 picks. I love it. To me. I'm looking, right now I have Mike Mayox from the NFL Network. I have his mock draft open. So I want to hear your top three needs in order of preference for the New York Jets right now. Top needs. Needs, all right. Draft thinks we need to do in the draft. So I feel like our needs are not going to match the needs that I feel we have are not going to match what we do. Okay. In the draft. Okay. So my first need is offensive line. Okay. I think we need a lineman. I think we need a right tackle or a guard. One or the other. We're both. Because again, I don't think that our right tackle of Wayne Hunter is very good. So who would you want them to pick of the top tackles or guards out there? Khalil's gonna go fast. Yeah, he's gone. I think there's a guy from Stanford. Johnathan Martin. Mike Adams, Bobby Macy, David Kesto? He's a guard. I would pick him. He's supposed to be awesome.
00 Jake: But again, that's not what I think is going to happen. That's the need. What are we going to do? I think it's a big need. Offensive lineman. I think an outside pass rusher. at the linebacker, but not a not a a pass rushing specialist like Aaron Maven a guy who can play on first down and Second down and third down not like Aaron Maven third down guy Right like an outside linebacker real deal a guy in the mold of Calvin pace, but better Mm-hmm. I think there is you know Courtney up Sean on Alabama guy in that oak who can play like that and then third I guess I have like a split running back receiver. One of those two positions, running back or- Two separate positions. I'm saying or, because I don't wanna be pigeonholed into top three. I'd say top three. Top four. Oh then you rank them three and four. Receiver then running back. Okay, then what do you think we're gonna do? We're gonna trade up and draft Trent Richardson. Ha ha ha ha ha. And we go right up and grab the number one running back. That's exactly right. Cause, Mr. T, don't take no shit on draft day and he's gonna be like, we're gonna ground and pound, we're gonna really ground and pound, we're gonna go draft the best running back available, he's really the only good running back in the first round pick and we're gonna not have him at 16, we're gonna move up. move up to like I don't know four five really something that a lot of pressure on a running back yeah but I feel like he's gonna do that I don't know why the Jets love to make draft they like to win draft day by like trading up yeah they love to they never trade down almost now we trade up we do that shit constantly so I think needs I think I think they should stay at 16 and draft the goddamn lineman, but they're not I think our need and what we're gonna do are the same good. What are we gonna do? I Think the need and I know we're gonna be ground and pound we have ground and pound now We've got some guys don't have ground and pound we can get guys later in the draft. That'll be grant You've said this before no, I grabbed that statement grab those fourth round guys. Sure I've got two of them grab to see what happens. See what happens Waterloo. I think they're going to go... because we haven't gone after the position in a while and haven't drafted one of these, I'm trying to think of the last one. Put my Jets knowledge the test where we going I think wide receiver I think we're gonna go up draft him one last year first round first round receiver yeah when's the last first Kishan? Kishan. I mean, we're talking a while ago, right? Yeah. I think teams are showing more, you have the theory of the three years, teams are showing more getting value out of receivers quicker if you can get the right one. But there's not, so who do you think they're gonna draft? Michael Floyd? I think it's Floyd or Blackmon. Well, Blackmon's not gonna be there at... 16 but it's not nothing. I'm saying they're gonna move up. You're gonna say they're gonna move up like I say But they're gonna get black man out Richard. Yeah, okay
01 Jake: I think they're gonna move up and just pick a stud fucking wide receiver and run with it. I don't know that there's a difference between Black man and Floyd all that much. I don't actually know if there's big difference talent wise I know Floyd's like got the head case thing going Like he's gotten in trouble in college a few times, but for like drinking. Well whatever, you can drink, you're an adult now. You're not in college anymore. Yeah, I mean I just feel like that's it. I feel like they're going to, because it's not really about, I mean I think it's a need. I mean come on, we need a wide receiver. Sure, we need a wide receiver. Let's trade for Mike Wallace, first round. You don't have to trade for Mike Wallace, you just gotta sign him. You gotta give up your first round. That's what I'm saying. But you gotta sign him. I can't sign them. I don't have the money to sign them. So I have a feeling that now, the rumor mill just said that someone that they've already contacted this, I saw this on my phone like 10 minutes ago was that someone had contacted I think it was Richardson saying, you know, be prepared if we trade up. Let me see what the report was. it was. I feel like I'm sitting here with Adam Schefter. You got your phone getting alerts. Oh yeah, I'm getting alerts. The GMs are tweeting at you. They're tweeting at me. Tweet, tweet. Let's see what's it's called. Come on, Shefty. What do you got for me, Shefty? Teamstream. So what is the... You happy? You happy if they go up and grab the running back? Justin: Yeah, I mean... Jake: Next week we'll be sitting here going, Yeah, we did a great. We got... I guess. I mean, I'm kind of philosophically against... even drafting a running back in the first round let alone trading up for him but he's supposed to be pretty goddamn good and I feel like the values there because people think the way that I'm thinking like we shouldn't really pick a running back in the first round because They have such a short lifespan. I feel like wide receivers have a longer lifespan I think in the last three years again, just gut feel I feel like the first round value out of receivers Plus I like the Sanchez coming into his own get some young stud wide receiver out there The last year there was a couple of first rounders that I can think of there was AJ Green who was very good. Excellent. And Julio Jones who was okay. Game changer. One game. Not really. No, he was okay. He got hurt, missed a bunch of games. Whatever. That happens to recceivers. So like it's... I want a guy who's gonna play immediately. Like I don't want a project. But that's the thing. A first round wide receiver goes on the field. Not necessarily. Lines up. Every goddamn down. No, no, yes, I guess in this in this league they do but like they're not good They're not like they're not like they just use their raw talent to make shit happen. I want to see who the I guess
06 Jake: 2010 and I felt draft like who was the first round? Who were the first round wide receivers in the two doll? I'm gonna use this thing called Google for wide receivers in the first round. The first wide receiver picked in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft was Demerius Thomas, the Broncos, and then Des Bryant. Des Bryant did very well. And then Aurelius Ben was the next one. Yeah. So like... Don't know you can't even tell me that even like even does Brian he's missed a bunch of games He's gotten hurt to Mary's Thomas missed a bunch of games gotten hurt like Not a huge impact there. They're not they haven't played 32 games these guys I'm not there. Oh, yeah, okay so here here's what the pundits are saying I'm looking at some of the I'm gonna find it well yeah no you're not almost three out of the four ones that I'm looking from NFL films mental network it's all Courtney upshaw DE offensive linebacker like four out of five of them one them saying not Melvin Ingram so all of them going basically that we're going for this you know defensive end outside linebacker either Melvin Ingram or Courtney Upshaw. So one of you're saying that we need so at 16 we got that guy you're good? Yeah I think so I mean I'm now I'm back I'm back looking at all the receivers picked in the 2010 draft and like If you ask me, the best receiver picked in the 2010 draft is Antonio Brown, the guy on the Steelers, right? He was a sixth round pick. Yeah. The next best guy, I mean, I guess, does Bryant first round pick? But go back to last year. Black, 2011. So let's see. Well, you know AJ Green? And you know, he was you know, he was picked like fourth overall He's pretty damn good. But let's see what the other receivers that would pick last year If anyone made any difference we have Yeah Julio Jones and AJ green in the first round picked fourth and sixth overall Titus young he was the second round pick. He's not bad Tori Smith second round pick. He was not bad Daenerys Moore the guy in the Raiders got hurt a lot, but he was pretty decent when he played fifth round pick Curly was a fifth round pick Not a lot Randall Cobb on Green Bay second round pick Yeah, not much not much anyway, that's what I think so, okay we go you're saying
00 Jake: we reach up, reach up and grab a the stud running back of the class. That's my guess of what's gonna happen otherwise they'll just pick um when it gets down to 16 they'll see who's there between a small grouping of outside linebackers and if that safety from Alabama Baron is still around but I think the Cowboys are gonna pick him at 14. Next need. So we get out of the first round next, what's gonna happen? Am I assuming that we pick that running back? Yeah, you're doing your mock. Am I assuming that we still have our second round picked because we just had to move up all the spots? You can say we don't have our second round picked. I don't think we have it. Okay, so you still have a third? Yeah, we have a third, we don't have a fourth. And then we go for third, what do we go for? That's where you pick the best available outside linebacker or best available receiver on your board. I really think that they're going to try and pick offense. They haven't done that. To me, they haven't really picked offense from top to bottom in a draft. They've been in the top. They've been picking defensive players. Yeah. Like last year we picked Wilkerson. Mm-hmm. Who we pick in, in, who was our first round pick in 2010? Kyle Wilson. Kyle Wilson. Who was our first round pick in 2009? Who do you think? Oh, Mark Sanchez. That's right. Wow, you just lost your 10th card for the day. I'm just throwing, I mean, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm... Sort of just spitballing. I guess we picked offense in 2009 because we picked obviously Mark Sanchez. Yeah moved up to pick him And that was I guess Rex's first pick but then he's gone, you know defense defense Yep, I just feel like they want to make a splash. They want to get that offense They want to get Trent Richardson so that they can get this back field of You know, Richardson, Sean Green goes back to being a banger. You can throw Tebow back there and you got some really dangerous weapons if you line up in like a T formation with like Tebow with Richardson and Green next to him. And it's like, oh shit, we know they're going to run, but which way? Right. And then they throw. So I feel like there's like that I feel like that's what they're gonna do, because they are them. What's nice is, although I guess we could have done this, I hadn't thought about it, it's Thursday night. Yeah. We can come back and do a second, we can do a... We can do a Friday. We can do a Friday and talk about the reactions to the first round. That's just the first round though, right? Yeah. Thursday night? Yeah, and then there's the next two. Let's do it. I don't know, you wanna make a commitment during the podcast? No. All right, well we'll try to do it. Yeah, we can do it Friday afternoon. We're assuming that the Jets are even going to pick somebody. Well, okay, if the Jets trade out of the first round, we're not going to be back. So are you excited? Do you like the new format? The new nighttime format? I don't care.
00 Jake: I'm not a big draft watcher. I find it... Sort of boring. I just like to know when the Jets picked a guy who they picked. That's the problem I I love watching draft because the Jets are almost always making trades and moving and that's why it's fun to watch because it's like Oh, it's big at 16, but you gotta watch one through 16 because you know, they're gonna move Yeah, I just like to like get you know I'll get a text message from you Jets just trade it up and now there is what they pick and you'll tell me I'll be like, okay great like it's not a big deal and like see it. It's not something I need to see, I just want to know when something happens. It's not like watching a game where I'm not happy just knowing the Jets score to touchdown. I want to watch them drive down the field to score the touchdown. So for the books, your prediction, we move up and pick Richardson. My prediction, we move up and pick Blackman or Floyd. We don't have to move on to pick Floyd. I don't think I think he'll be there top 20 Yeah, I guess he could yeah, I think we'll pick up and move up I just feel like we're gonna move up we always move your movers and shakers don't move down No, we're not the past. We're not the pattern tree out of the first First rounders this year are they gonna pick one or two? Or both or none. They'll pick one The big one is a big one package them both to move to pick four second round. No, they have the entire second round. Right. They'll literally pick 33 through whatever. Belichick just doesn't want to pay first round prices. Where do they, well the first round prices aren't that bad anymore. Yeah but they're like 30, they're like 27 and 31. Yeah, they have them with a defensive end and an offensive guard. Scary to be up against our number one rival that's a good team that wins tons of games. And they have two first round picks. They should move on. They should be like, you know what? We got Brady for only a few more years They should be in FU mode and be like You know what? We're gonna package these two picks And move up and get luck Cause they never move up They always move down and like Just like piece shit together Why don't they just move up and grab a stud player? I don't- I don't really understand the Pat's methods, but they work. Yeah, I was about to say, it really sucks when they just keep on fucking winning. Um, alright, so... They're gonna package those two picks, move up ten spots, and pick a tight end. That's right, they have another tight end. Any trades? They're gonna have a four tight end thing. Do you see some draft trades, like trading of players, maybe? Oh, I don't know. Like who's on our trading blocks? I don't think there are any trades in players. Brad Scott? Dow full really not tradable Nope. All right. I mean I heard no, I think there's some who's it I don't I don't really feel like player like players get moved that often Like it's it's a weird thing like picks get moved But there's in the year in the year of Sanchez we traded off two players who we trade We traded two fucking guys to the Browns Remember?
00 Jake: Yeah, but they were insignificant players. It doesn't. We trade like we put together like a pack and you have an apple and you get three bananas and you get our pick. And we literally trade them like two scrubs and some picks. They were starters, they were scrubs. Alright. One question from the Twitterverse. Go on. Fake Rex Ryan is clearly the number one fan. He's being this, I know his question, we're picking Bob Boberson in the sixth round. Bob Boberson, he hasn't been around the podcast in a while. He'll be drafted this weekend. You think he'll be drafted? Maybe we trade Bob Boberson for Sally Boberson. He's Mr. Insignificant. Oh yes. Well I guess that's true, we can come back on Friday if we have time and do a... First rounder and talk about it. Let's see if there's anybody who hit us up on the Oh, here we go. We have another question from Facebook. Oh good. I made up for running back. What's your thoughts on the rumor? Yeah, it's just in worth the risk of a first round running back. I just said that's what we're gonna do Yeah, is it worth the risk? Yes. thinks the same way like That running backs aren't That valuable like where you don't have to pick them in the first round right this guy is like Adrian Peterson this guy is that guy he's that good he but No one thinks of him like because because he's a running back and now People don't think of running backs like oh first spend a first round pick on him But shit if you have Adrian Peterson on your team you have a good offense like you have a good offense You just and the ball off right so I Feel like that's what they're gonna do they're gonna want to get back to that They know that that's the best way to get the most out of their quarterback situation is by having The running game you look back 2009 we were the number one rushing team in the league 2010 We were the number four rushing team in the league last year. We were like in the bottom half, right? That's it. That's it. Was that talent or was that just philosophy? No, I think it was talent I really do talent in the same talent year older LT had that year in them. Yeah, I didn't have two years in them But basically this says that green is not the answer anymore. That green is clearly not the answer. He's not the number one running back. He does not. He's not a number one running back in the sense of being a number. He's part of a tandem that beats the crap out of you. He's the he's the he's the hammer. He's the he's the guy who comes in You know on on second and one and runs over you for four yards. He's the guy who runs over you in the fourth quarter
00 Jake: He's he's a six to seven hundred yards a year when the other guys getting 1200 That's what he is That's what he should be he's good at that, but if you're gonna ask him to get the ball 20 times a game He got hurt last year, shoulder, like he couldn't carry the load, and he wasn't as effective, and he only ran for 1000 yards, which actually isn't that good when you think about it. Over the course of 16 games, that's like 60 something yards a game, which is a bad game. So, and LT wasn't anything. So... I mean, again, I don't know. I don't think Joe McKnight's a good running back. I don't know about Balal Powell. He might be good. I don't know, because we didn't really see him. I don't think Joe McKnight's good as a running back. We'll see. I think that's actually the move. Move up for a big ass running back and just go for it. He's a game changer. Game changer running back. I think that's something that if you look at our. And that's it for the next one, thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to our channel and give us a thumbs up! Something that we don't have is that breakaway game changer that, but again, they are rare. The Peterson's, the Carolina guy. Titan, sorry. Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson. Like that kind of like hit a corner, hit a hole and then gone. Like gone. Like not, oh you're gonna get caught. Our guys get caught. No, no, no, you're gone. You missed that one tackle, you're fucked because he's gone. He's in the end zone. It would be nice to have that. You're right. Would that help the offense? But last year it wasn't it wasn't a it wasn't so I mean they did have a little bit of a change in philosophy but we know we're going back to what got us to to AFC Championship games and The talent level was different right you had but you just say couldn't I make an argument that he just went out and picked fucking Big fat guys up front and made that talented that doesn't matter who we have back there We're just gonna fucking give T-bow green Powell whoever the fuck and we're just gonna run it the fuck up your ass and doesn't matter we got amazing Offensive line and that part of the reason last year when you can't replace all the often I mean you really have two offensive linemen. I understand but we're not even talking about placing one So you put a real stud running back behind a shitty line Are you gonna do anything? No, all right. Well then the philosophy is kind of broken. But anyway, all right, well, we'll come back We'll try to come back on on on Friday and have a follow-up Until then go to JetKingdom.com.
