20 Jake: Welcome to the jet kingdom podcast the longest running your chest podcast I think it's over. I know it's over. It's over. It's over. So we're gonna talk about the Jets first Cardinals. We're gonna talk about the rest of the AFC East. We're gonna talk about Jet came in fantasyly. We'll do our pick them. We'll do our thrown picks and then we'll pick how the hell we can actually put her to win some games starting with the Ravens. It's too bad We're in this nice that should be the fluff but of course we couldn't win enough games to to make this matter. So we'll talk about that. We'll make our picks and then we'll call today. So let's get started with the game that was uh wow Monday night. Justin: Me you old Tom. Oh yeah we were drinking some good gin. We were having a good old time. Yes. Jake: till the game started until the fucking game started Justin: So, um, so yeah, so this game happens. Jake: So, and so we lost the game game and the seasons done. Justin: And that happened too, which is just, it's, what's hard for it. Spot score sucks. My dick. It's upside down. Jake: It's just, it's very hard to have a season and so, so soon, but let's talk about like. the big pieces of the game. So this was basically, we thought, and actually turned out to be true, the last hurrah for Fitz. Like, you were either gonna go in there and play well, or play well enough and lose, but play like, show that you're still the guy who can lead the team. And he didn't do that. He looked. Absolutely terrible. And this time it wasn't so much about every other... Like, sometimes it's like with the first couple games, or big drops by, you know, Marshall, or... This time it wasn't really about other people. Although I think the line in the running game kind of blow. But he just was off. He was throwing... Not picks left and right, although he did, but... A pick. Right, but he was- In the end zone again. But he was just- but even in the four or five drives before that,
01 Jake: he just couldn't connect. Like they were going- balls were over- people were open. That was the problem. You had open guys running good routes who should catch balls and make first downs, and he wasn't hitting them. He just looked- He didn't look like Fitz Magic, he looked like Fitz Poop. Fitz Poop. What do you think? Justin: Well, he started on offense. So they had trouble running the ball. I think Forte had nine attempts, which is basically giving up, for 19 yards. Which I guess you should give up. Powell had three for ten. I mean they really couldn't run the ball worth shit. Nope. Fitts looked rattled, hurried. The line's no good. You know, it's I said this last week and you were sort of disagreeing with me, but I think you've come around. The line's pretty pretty. Jake: Bad. Well, I'm still gonna disagree with you until Because until Gino proves you wrong. Well until we see another quarterback back there Gino I mean, I think the line the line is always you know How good the line looks is also about who's behind the line you have someone who gets the ball out quick The line has to do less You have a great runner who breaks through track holes the line looks better So it is a, and yes, if you have an incredible line, then you can sometimes put a poor sky back there and he looks better. So it's, it's, I think it's both ways. Justin: It's kind of like, if you have an incredible line, yeah, it makes everything work a lot easier. I totally agree. Don't know where we've totally, and we haven't mentioned it at all. We've totally discounted D brick not being there. I mean this is the first time in 10 plus years that that guy hasn't been on the field for every single play. Jake: We're totally discounting that fact. But do you think it's... I don't... I feel like that's not... Again, if we were getting a lot of sacks off that side, I'd kind of say, oh that's more d-brick. Justin: I don't feel like it's... well, we were down in the red zone and we were gonna be on the four yard line but... clady got called for holding so that pushed us back to the 30 and we ended up with a field goal instead of a touchdown which would have tied the game so games shift and move on little plays and momentums and that is one of those things that you could say sure he didn't get sacked but at the same time like You know, there are some of the throws. Fitz was on the field way more than Gino, right? Fitz got sacked zero times. Gino got sacked. But... Because he doesn't get rid of the ball. Because he's terrible. But Fitz gets rid of the ball and it goes nowhere.
01 Justin: Like, he's just not accurate. Well, because he's rushing. No. He's being rushed. Last year, he was far more accurate than he is this year. Last year, he had good games. Last year, the Alphans scored at least two touchdowns in every game, and there have been two games this year where they haven't scored one. So we've scored three points in two of our last three games. Jake: pretty awful. Here's the thing, the jets are terrible. We're bad. We're just bad everywhere. Penalties galore. But at one point it was ridiculous. Everything was being called. And just coming from the game the night before, or the day before, where there's a, you know, the biggest play of the game, a huge, huge, huge penalty doesn't get called. You're talking about Seattle. Seattle game. And the next night, it's like... Everything gets called. Every single little touch. I mean, there was a point where I think there was like four in a row. It's just like flag, flag, flag. Even the announcers are like one of them who I don't really like him. But towards the end of the game, I kind of liked him because he was kind of making fun of the NFL. He's like, this is why the NFL ratings are down because the game is unwatchable. It's not only because the jets were playing because that made half of it unwatchable, but it was because it just. There's no rhythm to the game. It's just penalty penalty penalty penalty. What was the total just too many like a million I'll take a look but anyway so Fitz performed terribly Couldn't run the ball couldn't throw the ball and then the other side of it Justin: Yeah, I couldn't stop them we sacked Uh, we sacked Carson Palmer exactly zero times. Which is ridiculous. Yep. I mean, we hit him a few, but we didn't sack him. Their receivers were... basically we were scared as fuck that they were gonna run past us. So they were just taking 8 to 15 yards at a time. Every single time that they wanted. I mean, David Johnson is great. He had one really great, I mean, the 58 yard run where no one touched him and he made moves in the back and he scored three touchdowns. You take that 58 yard touchdown away and he had like 20-something carries for like 50 yards. Yeah, it wasn't it was just it was just a system ripping up Jake: That was a fun set they put their up there. They're like and this I think this is one of those Football things they said oh the Jets have one of the best run D's right But they wanted the worst past yes because a team you know what just be like We're just gonna throw on you right by the way Can you just imagine what Brady is like licking his chops to get a hold to get in there and play us? Like we don't know how to stop anybody. He's going to be like, I could throw for 400, 500. Justin: We're going to stop Baltimore because they suck, but we'll see. I will be able to stop. And again, we saw, and I talked about this last week. There was, there's Sheldon Richardson just playing some fucked up weird position.
03 Justin: All the time and badly. Yeah, not I don't mind if you're playing some fucked up position Jake: He's playing like middle linebacker wrong, but playing outside linebacker wrong, right? Justin: Just cuz you want to get the most talented 11 guys in the field It's not a good reason like guys need to he's not a linebacker. He's like 320 pounds He's huge. He's not. I mean, he's fast and athletic for his size. So let's talk about the let's talk about God. Jake: Gross. Let's talk about could be done with this game. Well, let's talk about the big. This is the big thing. So we lost the game. We look terrible. I'm done. There's two closing the box score. One more thing I think came with this game or two things that I noticed. We'll talk about Gino coming in. I also just think that the team looked lackadaisical. They just looked defeated and very early on, the way they went on and off the field. It just you just saw no like get up in the team. They looked like we're done, like we're done playing. We're done. And I don't know, the announcers before like, yeah, Anyway, that's the thing that I'm kind of, I'm getting mad about. It's like, they don't look like they're playing hard. They look like they're just kind of like walking through the motions, and here we are, week seven. I don't really see that, but that's okay. Just the way the team looked on the field, and that's the way I saw it. And then the last thing, so then, so then. You know, they make the decision to pull fits, which is a good decision, and put in Gino, and Twitter was going crazy because I was watching with you, but I was watching on Twitter like, put in Gino, put in Gino, put in Gino. And I kept tweeting like, I don't want to see Gino, and I know they couldn't have put in Pat because of you. I turned to you and I think that. Justin: Second quarter and said I think I'm ready for the other guy who's dressed to get in the game Jake: Yes, you were say anybody but Gino. He's the only other guy dressed and They put him in and was like oh here comes Gino I'm like watch and he he did exactly what we thought he'd do come in makes one good pass, then takes a huge sack, then throws an interception, you're like, that's who you are, dude. You're like, you're athletic, you have great arm, but you stay in the pocket too long, you don't know how to avoid the sack. He doesn't stay in the pocket. He never stays in the pocket. Well, the one you did, he came right back, and he didn't pay any attention to this rusher, and Fitz, for all his stupidity, not anymore either, but for Fitz, always moved up in the pocket, because he knew he could avoid the rush a little bit. Gino just stood there and then the guy comes slamming on and slams him down and then he throws a pick. He's like, okay, that's what we have for the rest of the season. So let's talk about it because this is the thing. We now on Thursday, we know that they originally said the fish is gonna get his job back. Then a day later or two days later reversed and said now Gino's starting.
03 Jake: And on the happiness level I'm happy the Monoclea can see ever and upscale or the upscaled there is more upside-geno play but it's still such a low thing he's at the end of his rookie contract. We've seen him play a lot of games. I think I know exactly who this quarterback is. Could he play for the rest of the year and impress me enough and show us something that we like oh my goodness He's someone we could actually build. It's possible. I'm an optimist. It's possible It's fucking unlikely that he's gonna play for the rest of the year and us to go. Oh look look at the there's G No, Gino the great. It's not going to happen I think I've seen enough. What do you think? I just wonder who's gonna be the backup? Justin: Who's dressing on Sunday? Don't know is petty healthy healthy enough Jake: Don of because he just started practicing again, right? I think that's why, why, they're not putting in petty now in Justin: at home with some serious vitriol being thrown his way. Like no one wants to see him on the field. Oh, I'll tell you. Jake: There's gonna be boos after drive one if they don't score a touchdown. Thank goodness you won't be in our section. At this point, at this point, I said this before. I'm kinda on. Justin: I the question. Jake: I pivoted as they say. Yeah, wrong. Am I excited to see you now? So anything about it? Do you see there's any upside to seeing him play? Justin: Yeah, there's there's upside to seeing him play Two games two games two games this game in the next game Lose them both know he sucks and then just be done with them Give him one last shot in a system he's never played with, with the Brandon Marshall, whatever. Give him every chance to fail. And that's it. Jake: I just don't think they're gonna give him two games. I just... Cause then we go to the pie and then you could take the week of the buy to get the next guy ready. Justin: And I think it's gotta be Hackenberg. Jake: Really? Really. Alright, see I disagree, cause to me, Petty is the guy who is at least, I don't really care, show me one of the guys. Cause I wanna see both of them eventually. I feel as though you should be playing the guy that you drafted in- in the second round.
01 Jake: Yeah. This year. Justin: That you spent a second round pick on. Jake: I feel like we should have seen the guy we drafted in the fourth round last year. Justin: To me, fourth round picks are like... Flyers and if you don't see something or if something crazy doesn't happen Generally, they're not good. Yeah, but a second-round pick like Was either the fourth quarterback off the board? Yep. Must tell us petty petty was a third Gina was the second clearly note. We have right Gino got a chance Gino started his rookie season He wasn't going to, but he got, he was competing. He got the chance to compete for the job. Hackenberg never even got a shot. Well, this, I would like to see him, but if it ends up being Petty, fine. I wouldn't mind seeing all of them. Yeah. Like let's see them all. Give Petty four games, see what happens. Okay. You're done. Great. In the last couple of games, it's Hackenberg. Let's see what happens. questions. Don't think we need to see fits dressed It'd be nice if if they don't cut him it'd be nice if he actually like hangs around and helps to mentor and like Jake: Do that right and helps in the film room and all that stuff. So but now going back like I Have a couple concerns one I'm My Wario meter for Todd Bowles is starting up. I don't love some of the decision making. I don't really love some of the in-game management. And I don't love this team kind of looks like they're falling apart. And that the thing he's known for, defense and secondary, is absolutely a trash fire of a team. So those are some, I don't think, I'm not in the fire bowls, I'm not in like, I don't want to reboot every five years, every two years, that's just stupid. That's what dumb teams do. I think he showed enough last year of getting a team to play and getting the pieces together that I want to see more of him, but I'm starting to see. Cracks, right? Like last year it was like, oh, it's great. He's great in the media. Is this and that? And he's won 10 games. Now it's like he's won one game. This team looks terrible. And I think the quarterback thing has kind of been a fucking disaster. I think they've mishandled it since last year. Gonna say it every time. The decision to put in Fitzpatrick last year was a mistake. It was a mistake. She'd never have done it. Justin: Who should they have put in when they punched when they- No. Yeah, I just said it. Petty. Jake: Because here's the way history would have been written. Petty would have come in. He would have played. Last year, we would have seen him play. Right? And we either get enough out of him that we're like, oh good, or Geno was back, what, week six, seven, right, he was back? Justin: Yeah, I mean he was on the top or whatever. Jake: Okay, but so if Petty came in there and did good things, fine, you keep playing, we know who we have a quarterback, we don't have to go draft another one and have four on a roster this year. Petty stinks it up, Geno comes in, he stinks it up, we then draft a quarterback.
04 Jake: and we're moving on with our lives. The problem is we don't know anything about these other two dudes and we have too many quarterbacks and again, you know, the what's face saying, if you have more than one quarterback, you have no quarterbacks. Like we don't have a quarterback. We got to keep going, figure it out, and the only way to see if they're good is to watch them play, I think. personally. So I would rather take my non-playoff winning season last year and my non-playoff winning season this year to no playoff under the new regime and I'd rather have seen new quarterbacks play, not 34 year old journeymen who are gonna get us nowhere. I don't want to see that anymore. I want to see the future of the Jets. And if we don't have it, then you have to keep going until you get it. So, re-signing fits was a mistake. Not playing petty last year was a mistake. Um... No, you don't agree. I can't agree with that. But, right? Well, here we are. We're in a lost season on week seven. Because we re-signed a Journeyman quarterback who had his number one year and we paid $20 million to throw 12 picks. 12 billion dollars by 12 picks. A million dollars a pick. What's your obsession with the money? Justin: It's not your money. Money can be spent on something else. How many quarterbacks do you need at the point at which they signed him the day before training camp? What exactly were you spending that money on at that point? I don't know. Another running back. Jake: Like who at that point? I don't know who's available Aaron Foster. I don't know. I'm not I'm not gonna play like that Justin: That's gonna make the difference. No, but you're fixated on the money like I can but you yell at the television $12 million for this. Yeah You're fixated on the money. That's like the wrong thing money money for performance Yeah That's like the wrong thing to be fixated on I think I think what You're upset about is the fact that we have these young players that we're not seeing and we're gonna end in your opinion We were not a playoff team anyway Jake: So we should see the players money aside. That's well, that was my thing last year We weren't a playoff team last year kind of Were and could Only a playoff team if you actually make the playoffs you don't make the playoffs You don't control their own destiny going into the last week of the season and you couldn't ask for anything more and we played a journeyman quarterback who played above his talent level who Justin: Would you really have rather have had this season going on last year too? If I- And be going through it twice? Jake: If I got to see the quarterback- And if he sucked? Fine, then that's why you have Hackenberg. Great, and then you'd be going through this season with Hackenberg and seeing that he sucks, then what? No! No! First of all, you don't give a new quarterback one year. Justin: Oh, so then we get to go through- So then we-
00 Jake: Like your scenario doesn't really play out. Yes. That well. The scenario is you draft quarterbacks until you get one that is a quality starting quarterback who can win you games. And then you keep him. Justin: We have this argument too often. No, but look where we are. Great. As the season's over. That's fantastic. And you would have liked to have thrown last year away too. But it was thrown away. It wasn't enough. What'd you get out of it? I got an enjoyment of watching a winning team Who didn't even make the playoffs but who won games and it was fun to watch? This season which is going to be a slog and it's going to suck but the rest of the way it's but Last year set us up for this season. That's the point Were you happy with last season? No, were you happy as we were going into the last game at 10 and 5? Yes, so this whole season you were happy and no ask no Jake: I was actually unhappy up until up until we started to win those five games And then I was like I started to believe listen every podcast I started to believe I'm like oh man Maybe we can do it. Maybe we can do it, but then brought right down to reality Yeah, I started to believe the hype the same hype that made us go get this guy again your your If you'd rather had this season last year Well look at the last couple seasons The point is, this team isn't going anywhere as a team. You said it during watching the game. Teams aren't going to win without quarterbacks. Justin: I don't think we have one. Jake: How do you know? Okay, if you don't have one, how do you get one? My assumption is we don't have one. Do you go to the quarterback store? Justin: Otherwise, they'd be playing. Jake: Great, then I think, then I agree then, this whole thing needs to be blown up again, go get another GM, who's gonna pick quarterback? Get us a quarterback. You're not gonna find them on the street. No, Brock Osweiler, you pay that guy, whatever, 60 million dollars, a piece of shit. You can go, you're not gonna find them. You have to draft them. They don't grow on trees. They don't come on the free edge. No one lets their really star quarterbacks go. It happens so infrequently. The Drew Brees story is like one in a billion, right? It just doesn't happen. Actually Drew Brees and Peyton Manning are like the two in a billion. Like yes, once in a while a guy gets a really good guy gets so, so hurt. that he still has time left in him that the team with him kind of gives up and then he goes to nothing. But other than that, teams don't give up their quality quarterbacks. Let's move on. They draft them to Gino time. Fuckin Gino time. All right. How's the rest of the oh, yeah, by the way, we're in the bottom of the AFC. He's again. It's awesome. Justin: Just more to look forward to next year. At this point, I'm I'm ready to take. I want the first pick. I want the last place schedule. Jake: I want all that fun stuff. All that. And I want to have a quarterback that I'm looking at going. I want to know. But you could draft Jared Goff and you could be like having fun with that. Or Carson Wentz and be having that. Why? He's been awesome the last couple of weeks. OK. Or the semen duck butter.
00 Jake: No semen was adopted this year. The cat was drafted. Dash. The cat. Justin: Draft act the CAC, but you could have done that this year We had a chance we drafted Hackenberg or two rounds ahead of Dak great play him. Let's see what he can do Jake: That's what I said. I'd rather see him then well, I just feel like a from a I Wanted to get back and Berg, but I think he's extremely raw. I want to know Justin: Why do you know turn it right back around? I saw him in pre-season. He looked terrible. He looked terrible Oh pre-season doesn't matter. No, how do you know? That's what I've seen. That's all I've seen Jake: Can I have it both ways? No, I can have it both ways. Oh, you can't. I just do what I've seen. You know you can. Yes, I can. Oh, you can't. I want to see him play. I want to see Petty play. I don't care I don't care. One of those two dudes is out on the field. Let's see what they can do I think I was gonna see Gino for two games. I think I told you in the beginning season in preseason I said here's what I want for this season I want you to play one per quarter and then whoever did the best plays the fourth quarter We have four of them. No, no, I don't want to see fits. I never want to see fits this season Justin: I still don't want to see this season. Alright, alright enough out of you Enough of you. What happened with the rest of the AFCs? What the fuck happened? The Bills are four and two It's fucking Miami beat Pittsburgh, right? It's solid because that's normal and the Patriots just keep winning whatever. Oh, I'll pay just gonna keep winning Jake: I don't know if they're gonna lose the rest of the year. It's fine Cuz you know what now it doesn't fucking matter. They're gonna win a Super Bowl. I don't think they want a Super Bowl Why is beating them? Justin: Vikings that'd be a good Super Bowl. Good Super Bowl that defense. It'd be like 10-7 Jake: I don't think everybody could hold the Patriots at seven points. Justin: No, I think they might score 10. Oh, OK. I don't think that's going to happen. If you think Belichick couldn't stop Sam Bradford. We have to move. We have to go. Oh, yeah. All right. Let's go. Let's start cooking. Let's do our picks. Alright, let's do this. Let's go. Okay, so You gotta go quick. Yeah, we really do. Trying to pick them. We're going through it with the lines Thursday night Green Bay hosting Chicago Green Bay favorite by seven and a half It's been dropping dropped cuz the lacy probably I'm off hearing they bag and give me Chicago. Yeah, me too. I'm gonna take Chicago just cuz I know that half point is bothering me 930 a.m. Eastern. Oh in London in London the Giants at the Rams Good thing they moved to LA so they can have a home game in London Twicken them not even at I think it's twicken them Not even at Wembley not welcome like keep going quickly. All right Giants by two and a half. I got the Rams I'll take the Rams All right, Cincinnati's hosting Cleveland favor by 10. That's too many. I take Cleveland too many Give me Cleveland division game Detroit hosting Washington pick them
01 Justin: Picking Washington. I like Detroit at home. Okay Tennessee hosting indie Tennessee favorite right two and a half that should be three at home, so I'll take Tennessee Tennessee's your surprise repick of the repick of the south even though I'm still on the jags. Yeah, yeah My jags my jags are still way in there. Yeah You know Houston sucks. All right, who'd you pick? Tessie Kansas City is hosting New Orleans. Kansas City favored by six and a half. I like them. Jake: They're good. I hate New Orleans on the road, so I'm gonna pick KC. All right. I think it'll be closer. No, I'm gonna go to New Orleans. I think they'll... They can keep up with teams. They can score. Fine, whatever. Minnesota at Philly, Justin: Minnesota favored on the road. Two and a half rookie quarterback. Great defense. Off of by Minnesota. Oof. Yeah. Sorry, Wens. You're going to three and three. Agreed. Have fun being three and 0. It's awesome. Whatever. I take three and three with a rookie quarterback. My Jags hosting the Oakland Raiders. My Jags favored by one. My Jags win. Jake: But you actually like the Oakland Raiders and you like their offense and you like their defense. So I'm gonna pick Oakland just to fuck with you. Justin: Her defense turns out sucks. Yeah. Robbed in Seattle is home hosting San Diego. I think there's a little hangover here for Atlanta because they feel like they got screwed. Wales vagina? And they probably played their best game. Jake: So I'm gonna take San Diego in the six and a half. No, I think San Diego is not a good team. This will be, this is the bonanza of the week. They'll be, this will be 35-40. Justin: Kind of game. I'll take Atlanta. Okay with that score San Diego would actually that is true. Good job. Thank you Good camp is going to San Francisco. This is these are late games by the way, Sam How many do you have one two three? Oh because of that one day game Tampa at San Francisco Tampa favored on the road by two Both these teams suck. I'll just take the home dog. Yeah, I'm gonna take San Francisco. Okay cap second game 830 Sunday good game Good game! Except for Arizona is hosting Seattle Arizona's favored by two I'll take them Jake: Yeah that's a good game Arizona back to back night games That's rough That's not fun. I think Seattle is not as good as their record shows. Uh, but I'll take Seattle. I don't know. I just feel like they're going to walk. Justin: Good analysis. All right. Denver is hosting Houston. Denver is favored by seven. I don't think Houston scores more than three points in this game against that defense. No chance. Jake: Low scoring game and Denver. They're going to crush the cock. It's revenge cock revenge game. It's cock cock revenge of the cock revenge of the cock. I'll pick Houston Justin: All right, let's move on. So we got a FC games. Buffalo is playing in Miami
06 Justin: Miami's getting three points at home. I don't think they play well at home from what I understand and Buffalo's been like scoring and stuff So I got Buffalo scorned seven Jake: Miami 14 Yeah, mind me, I think might have won their only second game, although they'll play us twice a little bit, a couple more wins. I think Buffalo's a better team. I don't know what's happened to them. I still think they'll do the light, sleaz, and slide, but maybe we can keep them out of the playoffs this year. Wouldn't that be nice? Last game of the year? You can just beat them. That'd be cool. Bye! You know who's not good? Tana Hill. At least we didn't pay that fucking turd $60 million. Justin: Oh, all right. 30-24 bills. New England at Pittsburgh minus Big Ben. Pittsburgh is getting seven points at home. 37-16 New England. Landry. Landry Jones. God, tough game. In Pittsburgh? In Pittsburgh. I just think they're unstoppable, New England. Jake: How do you stop them? I think it'll be closer, though. I don't know why. Because they have talent. Whether it's land or not, they have a talented team. Some of the two of the best. players in all football are on one team. So I think they'll keep it closer. Maybe they'll be like last minute, like catch up. 3126, Pat's. Okay. Justin: And then we have Baltimore. Game of the hour. Baltimore. All right, we don't have to like zoom because we're caught up pretty well. All right. Jake: we have injuries we still have david harris injured we don't know if he's playing right so you yeah so you got broke his 121 game streak right um did anyone get hurt during the game Justin: i don't even it's like i forgot the game i think lineman went down constantly they came back Oh, right. Uh, quality went down and Winters came back in. I guess Winters was healthy Jake: enough to play, but he just stinks. So I don't think we, um, I don't think we talked about the Decker not only going on IR, but, but he has two surgeries. He's doing a hip first and then a soldier shoulder. He might not be ready for first week of next year. Didn't know both of those things fucked up hip hip Yeah, no good and then shoulder not good either. So he's gonna use like I know it's like I know he can't do them Justin: Both same type of can we do the most same time same time probably could why you can fuck one than the other? Jake: I don't know that seems fucking retarded. So he's they're saying he might not be ready for week one wow that's tough oh that is tough Justin: study 2017's looking better and better all right hackenberg have fun all right so don't
02 Jake: know the quincy are we playing baltimore ray lewis still play for them so no so baltimore ravens went terrible to start the season against nobody and have now gone 0 and 3 because they're Because they're actually a bad game. Justin: They also play really close games. Every game is a close game. Here's my prediction. OK, going right to my score. Jake: Really? No key to the castle. Jazz, you just jerking the oldest people off. Justin: Key to the castle is special teams because Baltimore. Jake: Because everything else sucks. Justin: Yeah, because that's how Baltimore is going to win. Are you picking the chance to lose? You did, too. Oh god, I have to reverse it. I'm not picking the Jets, though. I'm never picking the Jets. I'm picking the Jets, too. There's Geno Smith's quarterbacking there, losing. So, here's the good news. The Jets will score... 6 points on offense. Two field goals. Here's the bad news. That's it. Baltimore's gonna score 7 points. On special teams. Jake: Why do you think that our defense is so good? Justin: Because they have Marty morning like as their offensive coordinator and nothing else. Jake: I remember a man who used to sit in the podcast saying Marty we trust. I trusted Marty. Who's that man? I think he's lost his touch. Is that man here? He's lost his touch. Where is he? Justin: Gino's gonna get this revenge. Genos are in. He's gonna tell the defense here's what to expect. I don't know. They both suck. I'm gonna lose. Jake: Genos starting. 7-6. That's it. 7-6. I actually think that he'll come in and be fine. I think he'll just be Geno. They don't have a good defense. They don't have a good offense. I don't think any I I think I think there will be a slight... I don't even know that. I don't think the team's behind him. Here's the one thing to think that's a positive thing. The last game that Geno Smith a starter for the New York Jets, he played a perfect game. , he played a perfect game. He had a perfect passer rating. He had three touchdowns, like 300 yards, no interceptions. He played a perfect game. It was against Miami, in Miami. That last game that he played. which is over two years ago. Do I think that that's him? No, I don't. But I think there's going to be, you're going to see something. Again, coming in, Artie Judge Guy comes in the fourth quarter against a really good defense on the road of Monday night and be like, well, that's the guy. So at the very least, again, I'm about 4% more excited about seeing Gino than seeing Fitzpatrick.
02 Jake: So there's some small level of rest of the season, they do give him a play to play contract, like a one year. You got to do it again. And then we get a long one. And then he comes in, he's a really good quarterback. It's possible. to to be sitting in April. I said this in July. And I don't want to be there. I don't want to be sitting in April listening to pronounced skaters talk about the New York Jets draft saying, well, they're going to have to, they don't have an answer or quarterback, so I have to go get one. I want to have this be the one year- that's been five or six or seven years since we had like you know Sanchez on a second year. that that wasn't a question. That it's like, hey, they have a guy at quarterback who they're going to go with and let's go get other players around him. Instead of picking second round and fourth round guys, we have our guy now. Now let's get linemen and linebackers and corners, right? Let's do that. Instead of picking... another quarterback. We need to know one of these guys, these three dudes, I think there's only two, is gonna be in order for your thing to happen. adequate. But you're gonna be able to watch them on film and go, that's a good quarterback. He might be raw, but he's a good quarterback. He has upside. Justin: We can go with him next year. Yeah, but you can watch film of Gino and say, that guy has upside. Yeah, you could. You could. You could pull out film of him playing great. But then you could pull out film of his first year when he went 8 and 8 and say, oh, he did good enough as a rookie to go 8 and 8. Right. And did we draft a quarterback that next year? No, yeah, we did who we drafted that guy out of Clemson in the sixth round Jake: Oh, but that's that is what's the difference between a fourth round pick and a sixth round pick because because honestly that was a Rex Ryan Justin: Wasn't that the Rex Ryan? No, we think yeah, well, we've picked a fucking quarterback every year in the last five years Jake: Dude, that's
02 Jake: and that's. See, he didn't go anywhere. Justin: I'm gonna grab you by the pussy in a minute. Jake: Oh man, don't do that to our podcast. Justin: I'm gonna grab you, I'm gonna pop a tic-tac. I'm gonna grab you by the pussy. Jake: All right, with that, I'm out. It's Justin- I'm famous, I do whatever I want. It's Justin and Jake saying, that's the last podcast you'll ever listen to. We've been taking off the air. We'll see you next week. Justin: Pussy grabber. Jake: Let's go Jets! you You You
