00:20 Jake: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast, longest running New York Jets podcast. period. Jake joining me 297 times in a row. Oh we're getting close to the big 300. It's Justin. Justin how are you doing on this pre-draft day? It is the day before the draft. It is. I'm pretty excited. We are almost, what is that, 24 plus three, 27. Justin: Hours away 27 and a half hours away from being having I think the quarterback Let's start eight o'clock. Yeah Picking about 27 and.5 hours away from being really upset. I'm not I'm not We gotta wait. All right, so we got tons we got two things to do for the season to start until we're upset schedules out Schedule's out. Jake: So we're gonna talk about that. Just talk about highs, lows, or anything that we saw, or anything that's crazy. Bring it on, Eagles. And preseason game four. I'm totally not talking about preseason. And then we'll get into the draft. We'll talk about the positions. We'll talk about what we need, what we don't need. And then we can kinda start making some predictions. It's kinda tough because we have to... Oh, fuck. There's no two. So it's like usually you can go into two, so we're talking about two. So this is like a two day draft for us. Justin: It's Thursday night and then Saturday. It's Friday night, just second round. I think it's, oh you're right, it might be second and third. Those two and three. Okay, so we can, we'll have to tune in at 10 o'clock at night. Or we trade back in, I don't know. Yeah, I don't have one. I don't know how that goes. Jake: All right, so let's talk about the schedule. cool. 2018 New York Jet schedule came out. We have a schedule. We do. And I'm a little surprised. Why? Well, there's a couple of things. They did some things this year that were some interesting notes on the schedule. One is they made sure that no one had an away Monday night game and then an away game the next week. They think this is the first time. What was it? This is the first time? Justin: I'll be away Sunday, then play Thursday. against an opponent in Denver? I mean that one? I guess that two of them. Or any of the, like, have to play on the road and then play on Thursday anyway. I don't know. You shouldn't have to do that. But Thursday Night Games got a little bump this year because Fox took them over. They're all on Fox? Jake: They're all on Fox. Justin: Where are they streaming? Jake: So NFL, I think it's going to be NFL and Fox, or maybe Fox Sports, I don't know. We'll figure that out. But the jet schedule, you know, came out. All right. Actually looked at it. I haven't gone to I basically looked at it I immediately went which games am I going to yeah, and so I we can talk about that because some I've already booked
03:03 Jake: which is cool and Actually, yeah, let's talk about so it's it's a it's a it's a happy moment if you're a QB a a rookie QB asked for this last year. I thought we're going to be a terrible team. I wish we had to. I said, can we get two road games to start? We did. We get to start on the road on Monday night. That's crazy. Why did they put the Jets on Monday night? I guess against the Lions, who cares? It is the double Monday night night. So there's two Mondays. Justin: Monday night is not a prime. I mean, it's technically in prime time, but. They're not primetime games. Well, they are primetime games. Well, only because they take place in what is called primetime. They're not the best games at all. No. They're like the not even they're like also ran games. Usually they are Thursday nights. If they didn't take place on Thursday, it would be better because they're division games. The Sunday Night Game is the game, right? The 425 games for the network that has the double headers really like the next best games like Monday Night is just a random game. So one thing that was the other weird thing they did this year Jake: for those paying attention, they move them up. so they moved up the start of night games a little bit like 10 or 15 minutes to try to get them over before midnight It's like 815 or something Well look 820 they start the night Justin: Oh 820 As opposed to 830 Yeah, well they're trying to move it back a little It works for me because god it's hard to stay away from some of these games Right, so start so at Monday, we're not gonna do predictions Can we do that at the beginning of the season? Yeah, once we know what our real roster looks like Jake: Well we actually know what kind of team we have Uh, but start at the Lions. I'm kind of happy about it. I like it. I get up to me. Justin: It's a tough first three because it's three games in like. Two weeks. Jake: True, but they're all winnable. No, no, no. Justin: I'm just saying like logistically, it's difficult because the night games are on the road. both of them. And you have your Monday, Sunday, Thursday. You don't have a regular work week. Right. Like for week two or week three, you're on short rest both weeks. Right. But then you get the little mini buy early. Jake: I think it's the third year in a row, we got another 11 week buy, which is kind of nice. Like that's weird. I like having late buy, so just looking at it. and it looks like you've got the quarters. Justin: You know, we talk about the quarters. It looks like we have one tough quarter. Yeah, the last one, which is basically the one that's going to sink the season. Absolutely. We're going to feel great. And then we're going to get into that last four games and it's going to be a nightmare. So all right. At the Lions, that's great. Then also, I thought I saw something about that. More than just Sunday night. It's a Sunday game. It might be. The Texans. Saturday game. The Texans won. I think it's a Saturday game. It's 4.30, but also is TBD on the time.
06:03 Justin: OK. Like it might be late. I don't know. Maybe they can flex up and down the night games. Jake: Let's go. So we start at the Lions. We come home, home opener against the Dolphins. Fins. I think that's great. Right. That's a lot of fanfare, especially if there's a. I that's. new quarterback and maybe they went on the road and did well and were kind of all excited and the Dolphins I don't think are going to be a very good team this year just generally then go on the road Justin: and hit the Browns um at night Thursday night weird game could be some rookie quarterbacks Jake: of Justin: browns broncos broncos bears is a year two quarterback exactly it's not a lot of yet that tax and the years to end barely played by Jake: great quarterbacks like the Rogers then Brady then it was the year before last Justin: I thought it was I had all these great quarterbacks I thought this year no no no you know actually good year to be a good defensive what will be what will be fun actually like some of the games I'm really looking forward to okay so I'm really looking forward to the Vikings visiting us and getting Hopefully having a really great crowd and getting on Kirk Cousins for not coming. That's a good one. And just getting all over him on defense. Like that could be a really fun situation. Let's get some dancing jets in that one. Yeah, that would be fun. Jake: Well, let's keep going. So we go at Lions. All right, I'm jumping around. dolphins. add browns on a Thursday night. Mini-bye at my Jags. Then go add Jags. Very torn. That's going to be a tough game. Very torn. They're just going to, that's going to be tough. We kicked the shit out of them last year, but then we get to come home and we have a nice home stretch. So we do Broncos, Colts, Vikings. I like to take, I mean, if you're gonna give me Broncos, give me it home. I hope you like the video, see you next time. I feel like that's good. Vikings a tough game. They're obviously a good team. But that should be fun. Should be fun. Justin: Should be fun. Jake: At the Bears. We're going. Going that one. Justin: Yeah, we're going to that one. That's a no doubt. You didn't book that yet, did you? No, I didn't book that. Jake: I booked another one. Justin: So I booked to go to the Rams at the week that the. Not a Jets game, though. Not a Jets game. Which one are you doing? I'm doing the Sunday at the Rams. Chargers Rams? Chargers Rams, LA versus LA.
09:01 Justin: Got fun. That could be good. Coliseum, like I've never been to the Coliseum. Yeah, that could be fun. I looked it up, they're there for two more years. Jake: Oh, and I didn't know this, I guess I wasn't paying attention. Chargers and Rams are gonna share a stadium. Justin: Oh, they are? Yeah. They agreed to do that. Jake: They agreed, I think they kind of. I think it's another team that and kind of LA and New York this is symmetry to that we have a nice home stretch there all one o'clock again we're at the dolphins we do ad bears then ad dolphins I feel like that's a tough one I think ad be tough but at dolphins you know again twice, you know, Justin: This schedule gets really hard, really fast. Yes, then then gets very, very bad. It almost this last set of games is almost. Yeah, the last the last six are pretty rough. Jake: So we have then we do Patriots at home. One o'clock game. Good. OK. Get them at home. I mean, if you're if you're if you're thinking we have a rookie quarterback. He's got 10 games under his belt at this point. I'd rather see the Patriots win when we have games. And there's always the possibility that they could be a little beat up around that point. Justin: It's always the possibility that the Patriots are going to fall off this year. It's always a possibility. And you'd rather see them at the end. Jake: If you think they're going to fall off, you'd rather see them at the end of the year. If you think they're going to be the team that they always are, you don't want to see them at the a and the year. that take them out behind the woodshed at home last year. Justin: Looking forward to this one at home, Texans. Jake: And then Texans at home. Justin: Looking forward to that. Jake: So that's our one 4-30 game. Justin: Looking very much forward to that. So it's a December 15th game. That's good. That'll be. Great Saturday. Great. Oh, that's the Saturday game. That's awesome. That's awesome. It's like nothing else going on. Nothing else. Don't even have to worry about waking up the next day. It's just the best. And it's Texans like I get to go see Watson. I hope JJ Watts healthy and we get to actually see him play. You're you're driving that game. I'll drive. That's cool. You can drive my car if you want. Oh, oh, I'm right that down. Yeah, right now somewhere. Well, you have a new car by then. I might have a new car by next week. Oh, well, there you go. Things are moving. Then we have hackers.
12:22 Justin: and in. Yeah, actually that's what I should do that day go quick quick 20 bucks, and then I'll go sit in her seats, right? Yeah, I don't like her seats They're in the 100s, but I don't like them down there, and then we finish it at the Patriots that's always fun Jake: Like two years in a row, really? Yeah. Schedule makers, get some originalities. Finishing out the Patriots twice. They did that with the Dolphins, too. They made us finish at the Dolphins two years in a row. Justin: You got to finish with your division, so. Jake: But at Patriots two years in a row and at Dolphins two years in a row? I don't know. And I guess we did at Bills. Justin: An hour Thursday night game is not a division game. No. What's with that? Again, I think they're changing it up a little bit. Jake: They want to make do's. They're maneuvering a little. I don't that that to me seems like the two teams that they don't care about on Thursday night browns. Quick glance Justin: What's our record quick go? I can't tell you no caveats I can't give me two numbers one in front of the other One starts with an eight Jake: There you go. I'll leave you one number. Yeah, that's right eight eight eight. Uh yeah I think this this is not if you just look at the teams like can we beat the Lions? I think we can. I probably won't. Can we beat the Dolphins? I think we will. Can we beat the Browns? Remember we kind of lucked out of that game like we played like shit and then kind of barely won against the Browns and their quarterback was just giving up the ball and then they benched him in the middle and they put in some other clown. Yep. So I feel like Yeah, I feel like we can beat the Colts and Broncos. I think we'll split with the Bears and, sorry, split with the Bills and Dolphins. Patriots will sweep us. And then there's like a couple games in here. It's like, can we beat the Texans and Packers and Patriots in that last set? I think those are the key games. It's like that. That's it. Vikings, Texans, Packers, those guys. Like, can we kind of win one of those? Like, be better than we are. Everything else I feel like is kind of predetermined. But again, you, what do you think? Justin: Record? Jake: Yeah, 10. Oh, God, every year. 10 losses. 10 wins. Six and 10. 10 wins. Justin: All right. All right, well, that's the schedule. More to come on that. Um... Jake: I'm just excited that, yeah, go to the, definitely go to the Chicago game. That'll be fun to go. So if you're a Jet Kingdom listener and you live in Chicago, come meet us. We're going to go. I'm already planning out. I'm getting, I think it's going to be a huge, huge fair. We're going to invite a lot of people. The kids going to come. Everybody.
15:01 Justin: to the to the what now that she Chicago kids gonna come yeah that is gonna be a Jake: big affair no because I think I'm babysitting like we have people out there that there's people who work with us like that I think it's gonna be like Justin: yeah like big yeah I talked to the thing I talked to a person who works with us who lives in Chicago and he's in he's in that's something why we do like why we do that why we get a sweet and like happy kids why everybody just go boom we could do that as he did ask like as long as our kid are our company is paying all now that was that Why? Well, there is some budget in there, some stuff. Jake: But I do have some friends who know some friends who know some people who are in Chicago, so. So there could be some stuff. That could be fun. I've been told I will be on the field. How about me? Nope. Justin: God, I always get fucked. You do. All right, speaking of getting fucked, tomorrow. All right, let's do it. The draft. What are we going to do here? Jake: Let's talk about needs. Let's talk about needs. Needs, quarterback. So what we've done, let's not talk about quarterback. Why not? What I've done is just picked up the. See you next time. and I let's do this. Picked up the roster, I sorted it by position. We're kind of going position by position. I have C at the top. Same. Okay, so we're gonna go and say like here's what we have. Is this a need? Like what's our strong need on these positions? Then we'll get into what we want to happen. Again, kind of like it's kind of like one round and that's it. But center. Do we think we're set at center? Need. Justin: We picked up a guy. Yeah, we did sign a free agent to play center. So I'm going to go with no, because Jonathan Harrison still on the roster. Right. OK. As a project in his fifth year. But still not not going to be drafting a center. No. Cornerback two months ago, I've been like huge need. I also do not believe that we will be drafting a corner. Maybe if there's just an athlete. that they pick as a corner, perhaps. But I think when you look at the depth charts and you have Claiborne on one side and Tremaine Johnson on the other with still having Buster Screen and Daryl Roberts, that's four deep already. And. those guys can play on the field. And then you got our last year. You've got tons of dudes just on this roster. So I don't know, maybe a flyer late if they just have a feeling on a guy. But otherwise, no. All right. So then I think is probably our first place of need. Defensive lineman. Yeah, we'll pick a lineman. Definitely. Somewhere in there, there's a need. It might be the third round pick. It might be the first non-go-back. Well, that would be interesting because that's our really first real pick. Jake: I know it's like we have this third, but it's so predetermined what it's going to be. It's going to be a quarterback.
18:00 Jake: It's kind of like you only have these other picks. Yeah. Justin: When you look at the depth chart on the D line, it's rather thin. it's like really thin Jake: yeah I would say that's probably where I go for the second, unless it's just a side third pick of the third round and that's just something that just is amazing happens right and you're like oh I can't imagine so I think probably the next spot Justin: well full back we don't worry about that so then we have guard. We have a lot of guards. I don't think we need to draft a guard. No, I think Brian Winters and James Carpenter are still fine. Starting guards, Dakota Dozier can definitely challenge Brian Winters for a starting job. And if they draft an offensive lineman, I think they would draft a tackle. Right. I feel like the offensive line needs help because you should always be drafting for the offensive line. We're gonna have a rookie quarterback out there at some point. I mean, how many picks do we actually have? Uh, we can look that up. Six. So, right, because why don't we have any doubles anymore? Right. It's just... So we have one and then three through seven. Yeah. We have six picks. Not a lot. And one is a quarterback, so you got five picks. Think five picks to... So I think offensive and defensive lines are gonna be picks. At least two of them. Jake: Corners, safeties, nope. No. Quarterback, yes. Linebacker, probably. Justin: Yes, I think so. Wide receiver, no. No. So that's it. I don't think so. Tight end? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. If they like a guy, I mean it's all gonna be like When you get to that fourth round pick if you like a guy Right, but there's needs and I rather than I do like a guy Jake: We love a guy and as a wide receiver, we have 400 wide receivers on our roster right now Yeah Justin: You wouldn't you wouldn't pick like a guy in the fifth round as a receiver So rank our wide receivers right now because we picked up some guys like we we actually you know picked up I mean like say who's like the number one. Yeah Right now I agree. Yes, I guess our number one is I guess is Robbie Anderson. No, it's it's prior. Prior is the number one. I don't think so. Yeah, without a doubt. Like, that's the guy who I think is the number one. I don't know. It's your prior played in a better offense than Robbie Anderson did just last year. in Washington and Even in his best year 2016 with Cleveland He had 77 catches for 1007 yards that was his best season by far like Most productive really his first year as a full-time receiver Whereas I mean, Rob, he didn't do anything last year. Jake: Then Robbie Anderson was here last year.
21:00 Justin: OK, but Robbie Anderson had a really good season last year as a much younger player. Jake: He's not going to play for a game or two. Justin: OK, you asked me to just say like rank him. I disagree. Jake: Robbie's the number one to. By the way, he is number one in the roster. He picked the he's one like his he picked number one. This is not so I just he is number one because he's one clearly. Justin: I was talent wise. It would be a new but he doesn't play that position. Yeah. So I mean, I would I would like to see. I'm the guy who should never believe the field. Who should never leave the field probably germane curse is the most sure-handed like get your five yards if you need it Jake: I feel like that's the thing if they want to if they were to go out if they fell in love with a guy and they Could find this number one guy because we have kind of like a lot of number twos Yeah, we've a shit ton of little threes Justin: but we don't really have like the guy who you're just like, oh my God, this guy. But I feel like we have enough that we're not, it doesn't matter. Most of these guys aren't going to be able to, I mean, we have like 14 wide receivers. Jake: Right. So I would say it's, to me, it's prior, then Anderson, then Inoon law. Again, this is assuming that all injuries are gone. Then curse. Justin: and then you gotta go to our various two area and a chat and said and P but but they also signed lucky whitehead Whatever. Well, no, they signed Lucky Whitehead as a returner, didn't they? Well, they signed Lucky Whitehead as a returner. They also signed Andre Roberts as a returner. Yeah, they're just. And they still have Jaylen Marshall on the roster as a returner. So they have like three guys who are gonna compete. I love Jaylen Marshall. Yeah, they're gonna compete for that one job. Let's stop for a second. Let's go back. What about running back? Jake: Like running back is usually a position where like, I need a running back. Justin: Yeah. I mean, here's. I don't think we actually need one though. Jake: So we picked up last year, what, fourth round from choir? So up, well, I'll paddle. We picked up Thomas Rawls. Rawls. Yep. And Azia, and Azia, Azia, Azia, Azia, Azia, as a Crowell. I feel like kind of set there. Like I think people are going to cut out of there. Justin: Going into the season, I feel like it's going with those four. Well, Crowell, they traded for, right? Or signed as a free agent. They signed. But that was like a big free agency sign. They paid him money. Like one guaranteed year fine, but sure but it was but the point was it wasn't just like some flyer It's like no we're gonna give you money. They they write these guys rank them you're running backs here I always think Powell's better than most people so I would rank him one. Okay, you're wrong but it was Crowell too and then I mean, I've seen Thomas Rawls be better than I've seen Elijah Maguire. I guess. Like I would be like a really good. Well, they're probably all about the same. Well, Paul Maguire and then Rawls.
24:02 Jake: That's what I would rank them. But anyway, but that's that's a lot of dudes. And Maguire is a rookie. Oh, he's a second year guy, so we were not getting rid of him. Well, I see I think he's the guy that maybe there's I could see them trading him out I could see him trading him in a draft. I don't think he's I don't think he's tradable Justin: Oh wait, because we can sign into a one year No, he's just not tradable. It's it's a it's a cut he's 29. He's not really He's 29 and he's never been a starter He's always just been a complimentary back. Jake: All right, so safety. Justin: We're not going to pick not going to pick say that tomorrow. And I mean, we're kind of hoping that that I think we're going to pick a I think we're going to pick a tackle. Definitely. Because the Ben Ijalana backup plan and. Quali and these guys that doesn't work for me I'm pretty sure Brandon shell and Kevin Kevin Beach them, you know, we're fine at the starting positions But man if one of those two get hurt and it happened last year, it was a big issue Shell missed a couple games Jake: You know we were totally sad. Quarterback. Quarterback. We got four. We have a second rounder, a first rounder, a second rounder, a fourth rounder. I don't know when my count was picked. We got like... It's all over. I mean we got a first round quarterback on our roster. We got a guy with 16 years experience. I mean, could we just blow up, it's not Radio City anymore, but could we just blow up Texas if they just said, no, we're good, we got Bridgewater, we're good, we got a first round quarterback who's young Justin: and he's 25 years old. If they didn't make that trade up, I'd say that that's a total possibility for this team. Oh, I can't. If they were sitting there at six and... All this movement ahead of them, I'd be like, yeah, I can see them not picking a quarterback. They'll just pick whoever the best player is. So let's let's talk about it because it's clear since there was a trade super clear. And I went out and I grabbed. So this is the hardest part of this draft for me. Yeah. Is that. Jake: It is very unclear who's the best of this bunch and it's very unclear who's picking who and we're the third guy In a third picker and it's like it's very unclear who's gonna land with us So I'm so hesitant to want one guy because I don't want to be disappointed. No, don't be disappointed. It's just a draft Well, but it's the difference between being a being set for 10 years and being absolutely like, you know, being in the dumps again. So this is a huge pivotal pick for us. Very big. I don't. So what's the highest we've ever picked a quarterback ever?
27:05 Jake: The Justin: even like I don't think Ken O'Brien was that high. Sanchez was sore. Why don't, so there's a couple of things. I've kind of mentally, that a, and Jake: next don't agree with me but I've mentally said that. that to be on our team. I've mentally made that decision, and I've made it because I don't think there's a way I could get by both of those teams at the top, or 17 other trading partners who were going to sell the house to get up there. So I just I, think that there's any way that that guy is going to drop the three. I just don't think so. And I don't think that honestly they're going to make another move to two. Like if. somehow, you know, just move up from two to three from three to two. So mentally, I blocked myself from even kind of paying attention to Sam Donald because I just don't think he's going to be... I just don't think there's a chance in hell. Now, of course, in three of these mocks, we have looking in front of us... I'm not looking at anything. Oh, well if you scroll down, there's two sets of mocks, and in two of them, Sam Darnell lands on us. Scroll down to where? On the thing that we look at together, you do. There's nothing there. Yeah, really keep scrolling. Oh wow, holy crap, all right, got it. Yeah, and there's two of them. Look, there's two sets. Justin: Oh, see it. Yeah, that's eight different mocks for the top 10. Yes, that's right, the producer of the show is Jake. Do you know who I, who's? Man, he's got this wrong, but he's got the number one overall, in my opinion, correct, is very strange, Drew. Jake: Well, let's talk about... So I think there's... What I think is interesting about this draft is, this is a draft that the number... The top talents are not being drafted in most mocks as the top. The top talents are really talking about the running back and the... Bradley Chubb. And the... right. The defense. And the guard. And Quentin Nelson. Those are the top talents. Like if you say just their numbers. Like are they the best people? It's kind of like when Leonard Williams was... He was the top talent of that draft. Right. But he didn't get drafted until six because of need. Need. Need versus talent. So. That's why I think it's kind of interesting is because there's a fight between what's talent and what's need. Justin: So we have the Browns. Yeah, I know what I. I would do if I was the Browns. I've been saying it all along. I've never wavered. You think so. Jake: You're I'm going to say you guys, I said MJ do you think they should pick? They should pick Berkeley. just because he's the top talented person because he's running back and you'll be able to pick a quarterback. Justin: He's a running back who by all accounts is going to be excellent in the league. And then you've basically you've said, OK, draft restarts. And we have the third pick and there's four quarterbacks. So we'll just Quarterback first round quarterback instead of being the Browns and like fucking up on their own
30:05 Justin: they can at least get a really good player and then wait and See who falls to them and then fuck up there Right Reality they're gonna get a good quarterback. But if you're but if you're thinking as a GM Jake: You know running backs are kind of dime a dozen. They kind of come and go. They don't last for 10, 20 years. Justin: But you do want to put your rookie quarterback in a situation where he can hand the ball off 30 times a game if he asks. Jake: That's true. But in a lot of these, he could drop. I mean, well, I guess, so I guess that's the thing. If you're Cleveland and you're sitting there Justin: and you think that there's no way in hell that Barkley will go past the Giants. is. Right? I don't think he will. Because he's gonna go by us. Jake: Like if... Yeah, the Jets aren't drafting. So it's really you just have to think about basically one team. Right. It's that one team. Yeah. That whether he goes by the Giants or not. If you think the Giants would drop and grab whatever, you could be back picking Justin: up, you know, the second best quarterback. Thing is if I'm the Browns and I don't know, don't believe anything you hear at this point in the game. Oh, none of it. But a lot of it's like they're picking Josh Allen. Right. I think he's there at four if you want him. I think so too. So you may as well grab Barkley. Jake: So, but there's one of these draft Knicks that has Darnell going one, Chubb going two, Rosen going three, and then they pick up Barkley at four, and they did it. Like honestly, if they win the universe, if they get that draft, if they get Darlton Barkley, they win. They win the universe. Yeah, they win the draft. Justin: I mean, they win the draft, right? It doesn't matter. In 10 years, we could all be like, that's the dumbest thing you ever did. But that's pretty freaking amazing. Yeah, that's like that movie that starred the Browns. We had a great draft. I think I watched it. Jake: Maybe it was drunk, so don't ever watch it. Justin: You shouldn't be when you watch that. Jake: So we're all... We're all convinced that the Browns are gonna pick a quarterback at one. Justin: Or Barkley. I'm not convinced. Okay, so what are you... So let's make some predictions. What's your prediction for them? I predict that they'll pick Josh Allen. You predict that they'll pick Josh Allen as number one? Jake: Yeah, okay great. Did I say his name and. No you did. I just And I think they will pick Donald. I think that's the guy I I've done. I listened to his podcast. Justin: There's another podcast that does this thing called the 360. I think it's his. You said his podcast. Jake: Who's I say his I said back in. You did something. Move the change or.
33:00 Jake: Some NFL things? Yeah, it's on NFL. It's with Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah. It's a great thing. They've done this series. You got 24 hours after you listen to us. Justin: Bucky has them picking Josh Allen. That's number one in his... Jeremiah has them picking Sam Darnell. Jake: So Bucky Brooks has, which is interesting, Bucky Brooks has the best quarterback as Rosen. in his rankings, yup. Strange. That's right, well he's saying what they think he's gonna pick, not like, okay. So I listened to Sam Darnold's story the other day, they interviewed his high school coach, his college coach, and then an NFL quarterback, I think Trent Dilfer, maybe. And then those two talked. So it was like, you got a lot of angles. Like a high school coach was super cool telling stories from like high school. Justin: I'm sure he was just the fucking best. Jake: He was they went. They won two games. He got hurt. And then they lost the next eight. The next year, they went 12 and two. Like when he was back. Justin: He must have been just the fucking greatest in high school. Jake: They they the big comparison I thought was interesting for Sam Donald was they can. And I was like, he's like by size and weight and like his just ability to make the things happen. Justin: I'll take that. I was like, yeah. He was a good quarterback. So, okay. So if you have, now let's just make it fun. You're the Jets. Jake: I'm now gonna wave my magic wand. I'm being bitten by something in the studio here. I'm gonna wave my magic wand. You have the number one pick. Who do you pick as the Jets? You do not have any other picks. You just have a number one pick. We'll see you next week. You don't have any twos, just the one I gave you the one. Who are you picking? Sam Donald. Justin: You are. OK. So you think that the best quarterback available in this draft is Sam Donald. I think he has the highest floor. Even though last year. He may not have the highest ceiling. ring. but he has the highest floor. Jake: So what I've heard about him, he is a luncheon pale guy, he's a worker, he's not about himself, he's not, you know, he's the anti-manfield. He's not a me guy, he's a we guy, he's a show up every frickin' day, work hard, don't talk a lot, whatever. I listened to an interview with him and it was very just. Thank you. One of the questions they ask is, tell me a time that Sam Donald's like made a joke and made you laugh. And the guy's like, yeah, one time maybe. He couldn't think of luck. He's very withheld. He's very serious. And he's all about football. In some ways, it sounds great. Like, oh, this sounds like a really kind of like Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning wasn't about jokes. And whatever. And later, he got into being sort of a funnier year of his commercials. but That was not a funny guy. That guy was all about football all the time. That's it. Last year, he had this down season. Interesting enough, it's still keeping him as the number one. I'm going to ask myself the same question. Given the number one pick overall, who would I pick? Yeah, I think so.
36:00 Jake: Just because I think that's it's. Justin: It's the most surefire. That's it. The highest floor. It's the it's the it's the best bet. It's the highest floor. It's the it's the least. It's the odds. If you're going to keep plays like shit. I'm I'm still getting a starting NFL quarterback. Jake: If you think it's like to me, it's odd. Do you go to the if you go to Vegas right now and you want to place a bet on who's going to Super Bowl next year. Right. Justin: The odds for the Patriots is like one to two or whatever it is. Like it's probably not. That could or that three one four probably other right like two to one something right the point is Jake: It's the best bet without all the things is the best bet. Okay, so that's what you think should happen You think they're gonna pick? Alan I do and you think all right, let's go to the Giants. Okay. I know we're spending a lot of time talking about these other teams But it's okay. There's only two there's only two Giants. Yeah, so they have a franchise quarterback. They have wide receivers Well, you know, I guess they cut Brandon Marshall so fuck him he's gone. Yeah, fuck him anyway, but they have you know ODB, well if you don't just call him that Their biggest issue last year where they they do not have running backs. They don't have a running game Justin: They don't have a running game, but they don't have an offensive line. They don't have they don't have an offensive line and they don't have a running back to run through the offensive line that isn't making holes. Jake: And they've lost some of their, I mean they have needs up and down the street, but none of them are quarterback. They don't have a quarterback need. Yes, in the future, and if I were the GM of the Giants, new GM, so they fired everybody, I would be thinking like, you know, you do have that kind of like, well, you don't want to make a mistake. But they fucked over at UI last year with the whole benching and everything. I feel like there's no reason to project out three years and say, I need a quarterback now, because in three years, there's going to be another set of them like they're going to come up. Justin: And you might have him on your roster already. You just drafted one in the third round last year. He might be there. Jake: So it's like. Justin: I, I, the GM needs to be able to see web before he decides he's not the guy. Right. I think, I mean, he should. Well, they also, do they recite? No, Gino's signed with someone else. I think he's elsewhere. Yeah, he's not somewhere else. Jake: Um, so to me, I think it's all smoke and mirrors. I think they'd love to think they're going to pick, they'd love to project, but apparently this GM has never traded out of a spot. Like he's not a big trader guy. The bills have offered stuff. Justin: I mean there's all these rumors out there. So you have them picking Darnold, Cleveland. I have them picking Allen. Yep. If it goes the way I say and they pick Allen, the Giants can sort of name their price I think for Darnold. Yes. Yes. Including to us. If anybody. If this is- We would have to go back to last year and say, all right, here's what the Bears gave to the Niners to move up one spot. To move up one spot. Right. The exact same, three to two. And it was a lot. Jake: But again, who knows if they're I mean it
39:00 Jake: Chubisky hasn't turned out to be the greatest at all time or were there three other quarterbacks to pick Justin: Well, there were I mean But no one was I don't take Watson at number one up to get Watson. Yeah, the smart teams were like, let's go get Watson, right? So I am, yeah. So who do you have the Giants picking? Jake: I think they're gonna do the smart thing. They're gonna pick Barkley. They're gonna say, this is a need for us. It's a big position. You're getting the best player on the draft. You're getting minute number two. And unless someone's willing to give you everything in the sun. I think that's what I'm gonna pick. I do not think they're gonna pick Chubb. I just don't think that's enough of a slash pick. Yeah, I just think they're gonna pick. Justin: I'm gonna disagree with you. Okay, who do you think they're gonna pick? Chubb. You think they're gonna take Chubb? That is the blueprint for the giant Super Bowl victories. JP P is not on the team anymore. He's gone. You realize you're trying to predict the fact that Darnell lands in our lap. That's all I have for you today. Jake: You've, wait, let's just, I haven't done that purposely. No, but let me just stop, because I've cornered you. You have? I asked the best player I you had the number one pick, who would you pick? You've then predicted that the number one person you would have picked if you had the number one pick lands at number three and no one else is picked him. So you're telling us that we are picking, and your prediction is that we are picking Sam Donald. Justin: You nailed it. Jake: But that's not who you want. It's not. You're fucked in the head. Justin: You know that, but I just corny it. You don't like it. But that's what it is. That's not who you came in an hour ago thinking we were gonna get. But you pick who you pick. It's how the draft works. Jake: But it's not who you thought we were gonna pick. Justin: And what's funny is, the way that that... The whole circle of life just happened. It's a circle of life. I was ready to have the whole conversation around Rosenburst Mayfield with you. Yeah. Yeah. Wouldn't need to. Well, I'm happy to have it anyway. Jake: Sure. But you literally have Darnold Land. And that's not... What you're saying is not insane because... Oh. That's not insane. Justin: Two of these eight people think that he's gonna land in our lap. I see no reason why it here's the thing the Browns are gonna make a mistake They're the Browns. Oh, they've got a new GM. You can't Okay, they've always had a new GM Jake: But that's not a thing they don't actually people don't just walk into the Browns lose their fucking intelligence and make bad picks Like that's not a thing Justin: Yeah, but they could be like we're Cleveland We should get the guy from Wyoming because he plays in cold weather and he can throw the ball forever Okay, like I was watching something yesterday or the day before and they were talking about how this dude has like literally never thrown with any accuracy ever like at Wyoming at his junior college that he played at before he played at Wyoming during high school. He didn't even have good nothing like he's never completed more than I think 56% of his passes.
42:02 Justin: Yeah, that is awful. I don't care how strong your arm is I don't care if you can throw it like Geno Smith had a strong fucking arm Yeah, you throw it through a wall. He could he had a way better arm Yeah, I haven't seen a dude on the Jets that had a stronger arm than Geno Yeah, that's a fact. The guy who, by the time Farriv got here, his arm was shot. Right. Before that it was Pennington. He did not have an arm. Vinny could spin it, but he was still a little longer. A little dirt, yep. Man, Gino could throw the ball. Yep. Didn't need shit. No, anywhere. He really could whiz it, but it didn't matter. Didn't matter. I don't think it'll matter for Josh Allen either. Like I would never take him. I would never want him. If they picked him, I would almost quit being a Jet Fan. Jake: That's the one of all the ones I don't want. Justin: Like you say, oh, That could come back to bite me in four years saying it. I don't care. It's super quality. It'll be on the internet. But of the four guys, there's one guy I don't want. Josh Allen. I do not want Josh Allen. I would actually prefer... I looked at take any oh the other one um i would prefer lamar jackson Jake: to josh allen yes yeah i i have not done any research on lamar jackson apparently he's really fucking good he's really fucking good but it's a system and it has to be the system around him okay it's not it's not just it's not nfl quarterback it's Justin: You're putting your it's they they compare him to the T-bow and they're like compared him to Deshaun Watson. They did. They did. And Deshaun Watson made that jump, but it's very few that have done that. Jake: You do, but in that case, but in that case, we could all every year say wait to the sixth round and draft a guy and it's Tom Brady. And we can't do that every year, right? You have to go with the stats. Justin: So anyway, I guess I'm picking in our mock. Sam Darnold. Okay, that's crazy. Even though I'm ready for you so I can have this Rose and Mayfield because I think that that's going to be more realistic and what actually Jake: you actually just said what you thought was going to happen so now you're coming back on that. Justin: Yeah, and just you're terrible at this by the way. I'm picking Chubb for the Giants because I don't think that they'll go there with the quarterback but I wouldn't put it past them If they don't know then just not let Darnold get past them You know what I mean? Like he's too good, he's not getting past us. Jake: Percent chance that we have one of the Eli Rivers ones, that they picked Darnold just because you only have 10 minutes. And then they trade him? Yup, and then they trade him. Well you know what, I'm predicting that because I think that's awesome. That could happen. Cuz the problem with the 10 minutes is like to put together all the like scenarios pick them and then trade them Then you have like an hour or you can train with someone tomorrow I can pick two yesterday's and today's and today like you have a whole 24 hours to trade out Justin: Yeah, that'd be interesting. Anyway, I have us with Sam Darnold. Who do you have us with?
45:03 Jake: So I think it'll go Donald's, uh, Barkley, and then the third pick in the New York in the, in the 2018 NFL Draft. The New York Jets select. Justin: Who do you want and who do we actually pick? I don't know. Who do you want? Jake: I've said this in, well, we have a private channel. We talk with one other person who is probably listening. Maybe not tomorrow, but I have been wavering on this for forever. I do not think Donald's coming to us. I do don't want Alan, so I'm just kind of pushing them out. They're out of my brain. I don't even want, I don't want to think about them. And then there's these two guys, Mayfield and Rosen. And in some ways, they're very different guys. We have a... very traditional pocket passer big prototypical guy who the knocks on him are they're weird they're like he's rich he doesn't he doesn't need to fight for it. He's too smart he's too smart he's a millennial he asks questions he you know it's always a kind of weird knocks okay um They both, if you look at all the other stuff, the wonder, like the starts, the wins, they all have that. The percentage, they all have good percentage, they're not under 60%, you know, they're above that. I've watched both of their little highlight reels. And I think if Rosen lands in our lap... I think it's great. I think we have a starter this year who could grow to be great. His knocks, I mean there's a concussion issue maybe, and there's a durability issue. I don't know how those things pan out. No one's ever, of all the videos and whatever I've watched, no one said, well of people who got hurt in high school or college, therefore they had a 10% chance more. Like I don't know. But I'm sure somebody at the Jets is making this math. Please God. Then there's Mayfield. Heisman, winner winner chicken dinner, big time player. All the stuff like if you just went that way, why the fuck would he not be the number one draft pick? Like a Heisman winner. I was floating yesterday. The highest percent chance. I was floating yesterday. That he was that he was number one. Mm hmm. Like if you look at just his stats, he's the number one like his actual game stats like on the field Who's the best quarterback? He's the best quarterback. He has the highest percentage Justin: People don't like his height and the size of his hands The highest ratio Size of his hand Oh and his attitude And that he doesn't take snaps from under center Which I've recently learned is not that big of a deal. OK, you used what? Well, the NFL is changing. Yes. Like apparently Ben Roethlisberger basically doesn't take snaps from under center anymore unless he's handing off. Like it's like a known thing. Right. Like most like Drew Brees doesn't really take snaps from under center.
48:01 Justin: like 70 some odd percent of his passes came from the shotgun. Wow. Like it's it's it's actually become way more prevalent. Except for you know the well you know one of the goats rarely is in shotgun. Tom Brady? Yeah. You're from kidding? What percentage is he in shotgun? He's always in the shotgun. There's always no huddling and he's always in the shotgun. I doubt. Well whatever. We can make this every conversation we can find out. Jake: So we have these two guys and honestly... I can see them both in green. I can see them both in green. I can see them both being starters. I can see them both winning lots of games and being great. So that's why I'm kind of like, it's 51, 49 for me. Like 51% won, 49% the other. I think... The thing that kind of pushes me a little bit, there's two things that I think push me towards towards Mayfield a little bit. One is there's the attitude and I think that would play very well in our market. I think it would be great. I think that he keeps a list of reporters that he like wants to like that he have done him wrong like just Admanish now like just add a drum in there fuck don't even don't before you can get drafted I think that's one and then I think all the like stats like the stats stuff that the height doesn't bother me But the stats stuff he had the highest QBR. He had the highest percentage ratio He had the highest TD to interception Uh, he, I think he won the most games. He had started the most games. Like those are, those are real. You know, and that was a knock against, by the way, it was a knock against Sanchez was that he only started one season. Yeah. He had like nine or 10 NFL starts or something. Right. He had done so well. Um. I just, you know, those ratios, completions, although I think Gino had a really high interception or a low interception rate. And college he did. Yeah. I remember I actually. Justin: I think it was he threw like 40 touchdowns and like six interceptions. Something crazy. His last year. Jake: So I but I'm basically ready to take either one. Most people have us taking Rosen. I think if you look at most drafts they have us taking Rosen, but again It's kind of split here too. Like it's Rosen. It's all over the place. Here's good news Nobody has us taking anything but a quarterback So of you, so what's your what's I know you you're a Mayfield you love Mayfield you want Mayfield But you think we're gonna land Arnold Which is really odd. Because if you thought that he was really the best, why would the New York Jets just not pick Mayfield? Doesn't matter if Darnold's there, pick Mayfield. Justin: What do you mean if I saw it?
51:02 Jake: Well, you think the best quarterback in the draft is Darnold. Yeah. But you want Mayfield. Justin: personally wants Mayfield. And we have to go back to history. You're one of the worst pickers in the quarterback. Terrible, I'm so bad at this. So I was ready to have this Rosen Mayfield conversation with you until Darnold fell in my lap. Until you picked yourself out of those two. Jake: And so I'm gonna rewind. Darnold's going at one. Barkley's going at two. It's three. You're on the clock. Who are you picking? You're picking Mayfield because you want him. Justin: I'm picking Rosen. What? Why? Oh, because they keep going back and forth and I can't figure it out. Like and all it's taken all of me to be like. I want Mayfield for. not the right reasons. Jake: What are the wrong reasons to want quarterback? You don't want it because they have the highest completion ratio, the best QBR, the best winning. It doesn't mean anything to me. He played the a, he played the biggest in the biggest games. Like think about what quarterbacks, what do we talk about when we, what we used to defend Sanchez. What's the one thing we would say about him- He won road playoff games. He won fucking road, he got on the road and he won those games. It was the hardest fucking games to win ever. That's Why Eli Manning? Justin: Everybody can make a shoot about him, but he won road playoff games. That's the hardest games in the world to win. They are. They are. Nobody, like, that's why Sanchez is still on the leaderboard of most postseason road wins. With four. With four. Because all the knocks on Rosen seem... They seem manufactured to make his a the- fall. Jake: He's from the tribe. Is that a problem? Justin: No, that's a plus. How many tribe... Jake: You know, number one quarterback, quarterback... Justin: I get his jersey immediately. Yeah. I'd wear it every Saturday. But here's the thing. Take it off at sundown. I do believe... are not their pluses eyes smart millennials a thing I don't care when you're born every every single one of these guys is a millennial that is true fact so the fact that he is smart that about him, right? The fact that he will ask the next question, the why am I doing this question, as opposed to just taking the order and, saying, yes, sir, doesn't bother me. Because people who wanna know why, to understand more right and if you understand more and you're cerebral about it that is to me the
54:04 Justin: qualities of a quarterback that in week one will be different than in week 15 when they've asked why a hundred and it's clicked and then they see something pre-snap and they're like, ha ha, that's why we're doing this, ha ha, that's why we're doing this, and gets it, and can like audible and can control the game. Like I feel like he's the kind of guy that would come in and be more of a quarterback than a football player. If you get what I'm saying, I think Mayfield's more of a football player Rosen's like made in a lab quarterback. Can I give you a scenario though? Yeah, I mean I happy with so I'm gonna give you this is I'm gonna leave no loose situation rat Jake: Well, this is the one that you might not like Rat Lewis's rat the fuck is rat Lewis is red Lewis. Here's his draft Sam Donald, number one to the Browns. Yeah, Rhett Lewis got it. Chubb to the to the Giants. Three, Josh Rosen to the Jets. See it. Barkley goes to the Browns. He just won the draft. Josh Allen, Bills. Justin: Yeah. Trade into the Bills. Baker Mayfield to the Dolphins. And don't see Denver trading out of five. I feel like they're gonna pick a quarterback at five. They just picked a quarterback last year. Do you think that they're 100% off, like Lynch is done? That's hard. You know why it's hard? But they picked Paxson Lynch the same year that we picked Hackenberg. Oh, it was two years ago? Yes. Oh, I thought it was last year. So just like we're done with Hackenberg, although we've never seen him play, they've seen Lynch play. Bye! Yeah, like by now they would know and they do that he's not the man for the job So I think that they're gonna pick a quarterback. They're not trading out of there the Colts man The Colts may get out of there for a quarterback needy team because they needed everything. Yeah, they already had they just picked up They just picks from us to So they three know all next year, but what to this year should try to get more right? They should trade with the bills or the dolphins. They should absolutely get out of there at six, pick up as many picks as you can this year and next. And just know that you're going to be rebuilding with a new head coach.
57:01 Justin: Like just, you know, rebuild that thing. correctly. All right, so we've done it. We've talked the draft. We've talked the draft. And yeah, it would be interesting if this guy Rhett Lewis's draft did come to fruition because it would mean Brady with the Pats, Rosen with the Jets, Josh Allen with the Bills, and Baker Mayfield with the Dolphins. So Brady and three Rooks. Made all probably play it's kind of fun, I think The only one of those guys told me if like make if Mayfield became like this amazing the only one of those guys that I think I Think would definitely play would be the Jets quarterback though The one thing that I will because I don't know if Josh Allen at the Bills would start week One. They've got nothing. They have AJ McCarron. Jake: Yeah, that's nothing. Justin: No, I think that that would be a hell of a competition. Oh, Jesus. Well, that would be terrible if AJ McCarron... Well, AJ McCarron is not that bad and has also started a playoff game in his career. It's a no. And I don't know what the Dolphins are thinking with Tanner. Jake: I am... I just want to point it out again and then we'll get out of here and we'll come back and maybe do our draft and maybe tomorrow if I actually pick somebody or whatever. I just wanted to be known that if you look at where Six is and the people who are where the cults are get or what's dropping to the cults, although one person does have Mayfield dropping, you know, if we end up picking Mayfield and be like we could have, but I just, I'm still in love, in love with what they did. Yeah. All right. I know that the Jets organization knows with who they're gonna pick. I know they know. I'm very much assuming that they have two guys they like. Justin: By the way, most of these mocks most not all if you stood if you stayed pat at number six You might not get a quarterback. You get a quarterback. It would maybe just not be the guy you wanted. Right. You get one of the top four. And it would maybe be Allen, maybe be Mayfield. Right. Maybe even be Rosen. You're not getting Darnold. No. But maybe you get one of these guys. Now they kind of get to pick. But they clearly know who they want. I think they know that I think that they I think that they know exactly the one. Like I'm I'm certain that they have a one through three. Right. And whoever's at the top of that list who's still there, it might be just number three, but they definitely have them ranked one to three. I agree. And. If number one's still there, they're gonna pick up. And if it's Donald, great. If it's, and I do believe that it's probably Donald and then some Rosen Mayfield mix.
1:00:01 Justin: Right. I just don't know what that mix is. And I feel like it's gonna be one of those two guys. Well, I mean, again, in most of these mocks, we have one of those three. I mean, I just did the mock and I had us with Darnold. But but that's again, that's like that's the. That's the giant being the giants that I've known for like the last 10 to 15 years. Not this new guy. Do your worst mock. Worst mock. It's hard when you're picking third. You can't. Jake: Well, the worst mock, I think, is Darnold. All right, right. So Darnold, Rosen, we have Mayfield. Justin: Fine. You're upset with Mayfield. Darnold, Mayfield, we have Rosen. Right. Rosen, Mayfield, we have Darnold. Like, it's really no— Alan, Mayfield. Okay, so now that's hard. Rosen, Darnold. Like, you know what? Right. You can't fuck up at three. You almost can't. When there's four quarterbacks. I think there's three. I think there's three I want. The three of us... the three of us. The two of us agree that there's three. So if you're picking third and there are three, and you don't really care... Jake: And I can make an argument for any of them. Justin: I can make an argument for any of them, but I can say each one. Again, I think I do believe that Donald has the highest floor. Which means if they all shit the bed he'll be the best of them all. Jake: I also believe... I think about personality. If you look back at the personality this is the other thing. I'm thinking about bulls sitting in a room. So here's the thing. You have bulls, you have them sitting in a room interviewing these guys. Foles is a pretty withheld guy. I think you know he's not like If this is Rex Ryan picking this Oh Baker Mayfield every day He's literally getting another tattoo. Yeah on his wife's arm banging. Yeah Baker Mayfield So he's banging. I'm banging part of the I feel like it's part of the culture That's why I feel like if Rosen's there, they're gonna pick Rosen. If Mayfield's there, they're gonna pick Mayfield. If it's my... sorry, if Rosen or Darnold there, I think that's the way they stack them. Justin: I think it's Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield for them, and only because of personality. I don't think... Do you worry that Josh Allen is... ahead of, like if he's in the top three. Jake: Nope, I mean they visited and went to the pro days of all four, they didn't go to the pro day of the other one, the one we're not talking about. Jackson. So I feel, or they didn't have him in. So I feel like they've already kind of conceded Justin: and they don't need to. A lot of people have just said he's like a middle first, maybe even a second, and he might not even be a quarterback. back. Right. Even though I think that's wrong. I think you will be a quarterback and I think so. Well, I mean, there are a lot of talk about him going to the Patriots and like the Patriots is redefining their system around him and then becoming an. Oh, that would suck. Yeah. Uh, I just think from a personality. I'm what? Bulls. Jake: I'm putting myself in bowls shoes. I'm probably sitting there going.
1:03:02 Jake: Yeah, I think they like I think he would like Rosen. I think he's like he's more of a he's more of a Macau and more of a fit than he is a I Don't know who else we talk about it just I feel like he's just more that like yeah, he's gonna ask questions Whatever that's fine, but he's more of a coaches a coaches player where they may feels like a wild Bronco and Justin: Yeah, but with that I do it one with all that said Jamal Adams is in the Baker Mayfield mole. He was that Jake: But Jamal Adams is a weird when you're interviewing dudes Justin: Yeah, you're not getting the TV shit. You're sitting in front of the guy and you're getting the real. I actually watch an interview with Mayfield and he's very withheld. I have something T-vowed from last night or something. Something I'm going to watch when we're done with this. Jake: That's good podcast news. Yeah, it was. Justin: No, I think it was that interview with. They feel it's on ESPN. Yeah, it was like some QB thing. Okay, I Recorded I'm gonna watch it. Yeah, it's gonna be good Jake: But I think ultimately the reason I haven't walked into one guy is because I don't want to be disappointed So I'm I'm 33% of for all of them. I don't care I think we're gonna make a great guy one or the other and it's really about the weapons we put around them And what I'm totally excited about is the Jets hopefully will just say this is our guy. We're gonna have every chance and I just don't I just want him to come in win the job legit. And I actually think Mayfield is the one guy of all of them that could probably outplay. anybody else on this on our roster. Like I think he'd come in and actually outplay them immediately and start throwing the ball around and be like and and I think he has the gajones to be like no I'm going to take this job from him. Rose and I could be like okay I can wait and I can see Darnell being like I'm a good guy. I can see Mayfield be like no I'm going to start this week this this season and I'm going to show you how good I am. Yeah that's kind of like... So end of the day. Yep. Justin: Who do we who we taking? Jake: I can't tell you because I don't know who the other people are taking. Justin: I think they haven't ranked Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield. Who'd you have us pick? Jake: Okay, so I said it went Darnold, Barkley. I think we picked Rosen. Justin: You think we picked Rosen? I think that's much more this regime. I think it just lands with Darnold in our lap. Jake: I'd be happy with that. And if either of those two guys are gone and we pick Mayfield, I'd be happy with that. The only guy I'm gonna come back here and start screaming is Allen. I don't want a project. I don't want a 52% completion pass. I don't want a guy who regressed his second year. I don't want this like always got arm talent. I don't want that. I want, I want completion percentage. I want touchdown to intercession ratio. I want a winner. I want a guy who stands up in the spotlight at MetLife Stadium on a Monday night and crushes.
1:06:00 Jake: We don't play on Monday Night in the MetLife Stadium, but like crushes the Patriots, right? That he has the balls and whatever and that's how I talk myself into Mayfield every time. Because I'll tell you when I was thinking about that when the years how I know it is like psychological when the schedule came out and I thought oh Monday night and I immediately thought oh man Mayfield's gonna be Like I thought that's what I felt. I was like, oh, that'd be great to watch Mayfield go in there and just be like, so, so probably just wants that balls and wants that fun. We'll see if it happens. All right, that's it. That's an hour long podcast. I'm Jake, he's Justin. We'll be back whenever we can. I will definitely review next week, but if like something, if we're all just super, super happy tomorrow, maybe we'll, not tomorrow, sorry, Friday, we might get back together then or next week. We're on the road, but we can get together wherever we are. We'll be right back. Uh, that's it. We're saying... Let's go jets.
