18 Jake: Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast, longest running New York Jets podcast. Ever. My name is Jake, joining me. 293 times in a row. It's Justin. Happy New Year, Justin. Oh, yeah. Yep. In February. Happy New Year. Took off that January off. So did the Jets. So did the Jets. Well, I fired some people. Fire at a person, right? Two, I think. Two? Yeah. I think that's another one. Yeah, special. Either special teams or like someone else they fired. Robbie Anderson got arrested. Yeah, so we don't really have like a full agenda because we don't have a Jets game to review. We have a Super Bowl. We have the playoffs to talk about. Yeah, we've gone to the Saints game. I don't think we've talked about that because last time we talked we were going to the Saints game. time. Yeah, we did that. I went to the Chargers game last game this season. The Saints lost in spectacular fashion in the playoffs. We watched the Jets beat or lose the Patriots in a spectacular way. We watched Petty look terrible. Terrible. Justin: So are you still ready for Petty or like? Thank you. Are you not ready for petty at this point? Jake: No, no, I'm 100 percent. So now you're sold, he sucks? I'm sold, he's not, he's starting caliber quarterback. So yeah, okay. Yeah, I'm there. That's good. That's good. Yep. It's a missed opportunity to not learn that three years ago. Because then we wouldn't have had to play in these four games, and then we could have done something else. Someone had to play. He was a backup for all intents and purposes. Justin: Yeah, it's just, it's just... I mean, the starter did break his... We're gonna talk about nothing but quarterback for the next six months. ...break his wrist, right? Jake: Yeah. Justin: So yeah, I mean, he had to play, he was the backup. Jake: This is why when we're talking about all the stuff with Kirk Cousins and all this, I only want, this is my ultimate thing, go big or go home. Kirk Cousins. I want to stop with all the... Called it two years ago. Give it $100 million, whatever he wants. Like it's stop it stop this bullshit. You're all in on it. No, not him. You're not all in on Kirk Cousins No, you just said him a hundred million. No, I said it's go big or go home So to me that's one of two things. What do you want? You either sign Kirk Cousins. What do you want? Jake fan or You go out and you trade up to number two Justin: Why? Because- Just draft whoever's there. Jake: No, that's not- That's being- That's bullshit. They're all the same. They're not the same. They're all the same. No, they're not. No one knows- If they were, the second round would be the same as the first round. Yeah, but nobody knows. You know, be the same as- but that's the point. But we don't know. I know. So we have to sit there. No, go up and get somebody. Here's the theory. Why? Because you go up and get somebody, you put the... then you start him and you put the tools around him
01 Jake: and you make him better than he is. Right? You're gonna do the same at six by the way. No. Six is not like a second round pick or fourth round pick. No, because I've seen McKinnon draft. McKinnon drafts, he drafts back. He waits. He waits for the draft to fall to him and sometimes that works. Justin: I've traded around quite a bit. Jake: Last two first round picks. Right. He just waited for the guy to come to him. Justin: The last three first round picks, first of all he was picking sixth. Yep. Great. He got the best player available, which was basically considered one of the best players in the draft. Great. And we were drafting around 20. So what do you want him to do? You're coming off a 10 and 6 season. Go up and get what? Jake: No, I'm not saying go up and get anything. He just went for like, I mean, again, do you feel like that was a great pick? Darn we. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. You kind of like sat on him the entire season up until like week 10. Until he figured it out. Do you really think he figured it out? I think he figured it out. If there's a linebacker, one of the best linebackers at six, like a stud linebacker, you'd pick another linebacker. You're not wading your team on him. Right? And did he really get better or did he was he better or did we get someone better on the other side that kind of made him better? The guy who was on the other side was there the whole time. I know But that's the point like I think I don't know if he got there. What you said didn't make any sense Yeah, totally made sense. And then the Jamal Adams pick like what would you have done differently? No, I'm not I'm not saying do differently. Those are two good picks, but I'm looking at what he's done. I'm looking at his history Justin: He's moved up to get guys, he's moved back into the draft to get a starting right tackle. Yeah. He's done things to move around. Jake: He's moved up to grab guys that have been total wastes of space. Justin: He moved up to get Bryce Petty. He wanted Bryce Petty. There you go. He moved up. You don't know. What's that? What's the difference between these five guys? There are literally like five quarterbacks. I think there's. I think there's five, I think there's three that are good. What do you know? I don't know. You know nothing. That's what I read. You haven't watched them play a single game. It was one game, or two games these guys play. That's not true, I've seen three of them play in games. In one game each? Nope. Two games? One of them I've seen twice, the other I've seen twice, and one I've seen only once. Okay. Jake: Again, that's great. I've watched highlights on things. I've watched their highlight games. I've watched the highlight packages. is. This is not my job to evaluate quarterbacks. It's not. It's not my job. You're making a call. You're like, get up to number two and do it. Because I want them to commit and to get the absolute guy. Go to one. I don't care. I think it is. Justin: Unless you have your heart set on one of them and say, That's what I want them to do. This is the guy. Yep. He's the best. That's what I want them to do. He's the best. Yep. And then you wait and you see if the Browns pick him or not. Right. And then you got you're not going up to one because the Browns aren't going to actually browns browns are just as much as running for for quarterback or anything else. They have a I know I don't think they're going to personally I think the Browns are going
00 Justin: to draft the running back from Penn State first and then whichever quarterback sitting there at four they're going to take. Right. They don't care. They're ostensibly the same. Jake: But they're a bad drafting team. So I don't really want to listen to their draft strategy. But wouldn't you like a one and a four? That'd be nice. That'd be awesome. But that means you suck. Yeah, but that means whoever was supposed to have four this year. They won how many games this season? Justin: Whoever was supposed to have... That's embarrassing. Listen, whoever was supposed to have four this year, the fourth overall pick. Right? Whoever that was, doesn't have it because they made this trade with the Browns. That means we could be that team. Jake: Yeah, but I think that's okay because if that was... Justin: That's okay so you'd go in and you have zero first round pick. That's right. That's supposed to be the fourth. Jake: That's right. Justin: That is a bad, bad look. Jake: No, because if you have, this is the, oh my god, it's every year we have the same... We're always going to do stop-gap measures and we're always going to be a stop-gap team. Justin: What is a stop-gap? You're picking a quarterback at six. Jake: No, go higher, go up and grab a guy at two or three. Justin: Or what? What's the difference when there's five first round picks? Jake: Because I want them to get the, I don't want them to have to wait for a back to drop. Watson went later than six? That's fine. Last year. I want the Wentz, I want the Goff, I want the, I want you to go up and get a guy and then put the whole team behind him. Justin: You don't want the rest of the Wilson, you don't want the Dak Prescott, you don't want the Watson. You don't want the Watson? Huh? Watson who went 12th or 13th or wherever he went? No. You don't want him. No, no, no, I don't want the 12th or six. Jake: I don't want the 12th or six or the 12th pick quarterback. I want why Watson wasn't good enough for you. It's not about him. You're not listening. You're literally not listening. It actually is about the Jets making a move and showing that they want somebody and a player and solely just draft them. Not at six, you don't. At six, you have too many variables above you. At two, you draft them. Justin: They could have had Watson last year and they didn't. Jake: I look at the teams who traded away, they traded up their one and two, and they don't look back. And no one cares what Rams did to get Goff or what the Eagles did to get Wentz. Nobody cares. Nobody's like, oh, look, they don't have that pick. Nope. They're like, look, they've got franchise quarterbacks now on their team. Both look great and they're set. They're good. That's what I want us to do. I don't want us to do this like, drafty guy. That's what the Browns do. The Browns always draft in the middle, whatever falls to them, and look where they end up. How do the Bucks look these days? Bucks? Yeah. Say Titans. I'll do the other one. How do the Bucks look? How do the Titans look? Bucks didn't move up. They were the number one. Yeah, how did they look? They drafted their guy. You know what? I talked to you over the summer, you were like, this guy's a winner. He's a great guy. He's a leader. I thought he was great. Oh, is he great? On the hard knocks. Justin: Is he great? Apparently not. Oh, OK. And Tennessee, they got big problems. Jake: Why? Because that quarterback's also not very good. Well, I don't know if he's not very good. I think he's one of those. He's up and down. He's not good. His coach got fired. His coach won a playoff game and got fired. I saw him throw a touchdown to himself. Yeah, that was great.
02 Jake: Again, it's about making... This issue has been so long standing with this team. that they can't do it half-assed. They can't do it a little bit. They can't do the general like Jets thing to do, which is a kind of weight. They have to do what they did with Sanchez. Now you're gonna say, huge pick to six. That's fine, but they made a move. And when they made that move, just listen to it, because it changes the way the team thinks. When the team makes a huge move or investment. either in picks or money. It changes the way you look at that player and it changes what they did to the success of Marc Sanchez, who wasn't very good. But they put so much stuff around him and they made him the starter and they said you're going to be our guy. That it created a better team and that team went on to two AFC championships in a row. because they made a move, because they traded away picks and they moved up and they grabbed the guy that they fucking wanted. So I wanna see the go into free agency and be knocking on Kirk's door at whatever in the morning, at 1201 being like, or whatever, it's four in the afternoon, whatever time it is, I want them to be there and have the biggest check without the biggest dickus and say, here it is, you're coming to us and we love you and we're going and we all rejoice, or I want them to trade up. I'll see you next time. and get the guy that they want. Not do this wait, see, wait, see, wait for somebody. I want them to invest in the future in a big way because that will at least be for the next three years. We don't have to talk about whether or not. It took us three years to get out when we had great success when we did it before. And I think teams, this is what teams need to do. Make that investment and the most important player on the team, make it, whether it's a PICS investment or a financial investment, just do it. Don't fuck around. I think that's Kirk Cousins. Great. I don't disagree with you. But that's up to him. That's up to him. Justin: Go get him. Great. Make him an offer you can't refuse. Totally. And then use the pick to get a young player to put around. And then use the rest of your free agency money in a smart way to put more players. Jake: Corners, like, defensive ends. There's also lots of great stuff out there. Awesome. Love it. $100 million. I don't. And that's the thing. If Jets fans are out there, like, you know. So, Oh, well, it's a lot of money. No, because every one of these guys is just going to get more money. So within six months, there'll be a guy paid more than him. Aaron Rodgers will then be paid quadrillion dollars. Justin: Think about how they feel when Matt Stafford and Derek Carr make more money than Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Oh, yeah. Jake: He's like the 12th highest paid. It's ridiculous. So again, I don't mind. Do I have a preference? Not really, I just want them to make an investment. I just want them to show some balls and just go for it. And this administration so far hasn't been, they've been a kind of like, you know, holding back. And last year was about emptying the coffers so we could go, either go in the draft, right? There was a whole point of last year, you dropped all the dead weight, got rid of all the vets. it. We're gonna suck, and we're either gonna go high in the draft, which we didn't get as high as we wanted to, or we're gonna have tons of fucking money and be able to get a guy.
00 Jake: So you gotta do one of those two things now. And it means you have to give away picks to go up to the Giants. Great, go to the Giants, I don't care. You're not going to the Giants. The Giants are gonna pick the guy. Switch the two, give them a two, and give them next year's first, I don't care. No, it won't matter. It will matter. Justin: If you have your guy the next year, you don't care. Guess who doesn't have their guy and who had to give up their fourth overall pick, the Browns I have. Whose pick was that? I think it was the Eagles. It's not the Eagles, because the Eagles are in the fucking Super Bowl. It's not the Eagles pick. They didn't finish that bad last year. This year. Who's the fourth worst team? I don't know. They don't have their pick. And guess who needs it? Them. I don't know. I don't know who got it. I don't know where it came from. Jake: Me neither. Well, you don't... well, if we don't know, then it could be a team that's totally set. And got hasn't had a pick. It can't be, because they're picking fourth. Why? They're not totally set. Justin: Oh, it could've been an injury. Who knows why? Really? Yeah. Like good teams don't pick fourth. I understand that. Like they were worse than the Jets. They were worse than the Jets. All right so can we figure it out? Whoever this team Jake: was, they were worse than the Jets. So who was the worst? Oh, San Francisco? No, Chicago. I think they have their pick. Chicago has their pick too. Who moved up one spot? Well Chicago moved up Justin: one spot last year. Yeah, they did that with San Francisco. So that wasn't, that wasn't it. I'll look it up real quick. Obviously the Browns have their first overall pick, which is number one. Oh, the Texans. Right, who are set. Jake: But they're not set. They're set. They're not. Wait, right now. They're so not set. Swap me rosters for the Texans? Are you kidding me? The Texans are in set. They have four and 12. It doesn't. But they did that because they lost the guy who looks like who you just used as an example. So they are set. They're the perfect example. They don't care that they don't have their first because they have their quarterback. Trust me, they definitely care. No, they don't. They most certainly do. There's Texan fans out there like we got our guy. When he comes back, he's going to blow up the world. They're all in on Watson. They're selling millions of Watson's jerseys. Good for them. Justin: I agree. They ever quarterback. Doesn't mean they say. I'd rather have Watson on my team. Good. We could have drafted him last year. Jake: We didn't. Then why the fuck? Justin: And we could have stayed at six and done it. I know. Making my point. We didn't. No. No. You got to go up and get a guy. Don't. Because you could have had that guy. And by the way. And by the way. Could have had him. He was sitting there. Go up and get a guy. Ready to go. Go up and get a guy. draft them! Jake: No, don't. That's all they had to do, is do it. And they didn't. Don't play this bullshit just waiting around. I don't want to see it ever again. I don't want to see it waiting around anymore. Not with this position. Justin: So like they should never just wait around. Like you should never ever pick on your thing. No, in some positions it's fine. Jake: When you're a perennial team with a great quarterback and you've got other needs. wait around. But when you have been suffering as a fucking team for fucking ever, stop. Just go do it. Whatever it takes. Because this is the draft too. This is the heavy quarterback draft.
01 Jake: So go make a move and get a guy. Make a move. But they don't have to make the move. That's Justin: the whole point. That's such a quarterback heavy draft that when you pick six, these, you actually, the Browns aren't picking two. The point. They're not picking two quarterbacks. The point is... One and four. Jake: There is a guy, when they look at these, the five guys you say, five quarterbacks, they're that the Jets like more than others. If they like a guy, more than anybody else, I want them to go up and get him. Because I don't want them to play around and have a story of like, oh, we wanted to get this guy, but he didn't follow us because someone else picked. You'll never hear that. Yes, you will. It happens all the time. You do. You hear like, oh, you're like 10 years later. Oh yeah we were you know they'll do the 3030 on on whatever info network and be like, you know that draft were five of the greatest quarterbacks were ever taken or three were taken and Two sucked and well the Jets hung around at six and they wanted to go up and get them But they were too nervous to skip cuz your fan base like fuck that just go up and get the guy Or go out and pay him. I don't care either way again. I'm not I'm not That's option one but that's gonna be over on a really gonna be a March That option's over. So we'll know. I agree. That's the guy. I mean, well, I think we can talk about everything. We can talk about the way the season ended. Don't care. We can talk about they fired the elevator. I think that was good. Apparently, he wasn't getting on the body. I also was, and I said this a hundred times in the podcast, I was never really really super and think he did a lot with what he had. Can you just tell me what he had? What exactly did he have to work with? Justin: Get shit. So what was he some? What was the how's that on the coordinator? I just didn't I never a look at his game. I don't think there was anything wrong with the offense. Jake: They never really worked other than like games. Justin: Yeah, because they're offensive lines sucks. Jake: They have German dudes. Go center. I never had those wow moments. I thought a lot of drives just stalled out. They punted a ton more than they should have. They never could put together, I said it's all season. They never considered putting together a drive when they hit it. You know that there was no talent, right? I got it, but he's part of it. Like if you take the gents starting. Okay, so he takes all the success, but none of the problems. five win team and this guy is like, well, you're the best because you had a five. It's not the best, but it's not that you're the worst either. And you need to be fired after one year. But obviously, those other factors, like he didn't get along with people and people didn't like him. Clearly, there was something. See ya. Justin: Because you don't get fired after one year for that performance. Five? That performance was not dismal.
00 Justin: If you want to say five, good, fire everyone. I agree. Jake: Not just the offensive coordinator. I don't think they should have fired everybody. right. Justin: Again, I don't I you know, the previous year, Leonard Williams in his third year, like there was no talent on offense. Nothing to work with. Here, work with this 39 year old quarterback, work with this center who has been a backup for the last two years and has never done shit in his life. Here's this journeyman left tackle who's played for three a and that and I'm the last three years. Here's a, a right tackle that we drafted in the sixth round two years ago. have fun with him. The only real offensive lineman is the left guard who slipped and the right guard who played injured the entire year. Then your best wide receiver is going to get injured before the first preseason game. Who's a three at best. Yeah, and you get to play with Robbie Anderson who weighs less than I do. And you get to play with, oh, we'll trade for Jermaine Curse, which was a good trade, by the way, by McCack. Great trade. But he's a possession receiver at best. Yeah. Enjoy that. Oh, and by the way, your tight end, he's like can catch the ball. But as soon as someone breathes on him, he falls. And he'll probably drop a touchdown and fumble two others away during the. Jake: Oh, please. You're not going to say that fumble. Oh, fuck you. Fuck you. Justin: All of these things have happened. Jake: And they're not exactly the coach's fault. Great. But I don't I didn't look at the games, any of these games and think, wow, this is just the most amazing. Justin: I mean, if all Powell's your best player on offense. You don't have a good offense. I agree. I like Blaupow. He's a nice player. He's a complementary. Jake: And that's why we lost a lot of games. And that's why we never, we didn't score more than 20 points in like six games or something ridiculous. Yeah, 20 was like my bar. Justin: It's like, here's 20. Right. Score 20. That's a good game for them. Yeah. With Josh McCown at quarterback. Right. And Robbie Anderson just running the same stupid route up the field. Jake: Well, it's all working out because whoever they, I forgot the guy. They. See you next time, that and I a and a a that and, Jeremy Bates. Yeah, he's he has a connection to Kirk Cousins. Is he going to get the job? I think it's it's the rumor. It's like one of those unannounced things, but it's it's all that said and done. Justin: I don't know how is what's his connection to. I don't know to Kirk Cousins. I don't know. No, he has like a Jets connection like he, I think, coached with the Jets way back when by the way, birds on the podcast. Jake: So upset by this whole thing Whatever. All right, so if we talk about Justin: Jax we talk about a playoffs what other free agent should we like should we just go throw a shit ton of money at Kirk Husn's and Le'Veon Bell and just be like done with it I believe young bells very upset with Pittsburgh. Yeah, and he is the best running back in the league. He is and he's only 25
03 Justin: So he's got a good five years in front of him. Jake: Yep. And he's really good. Yep. So why don't we just get those two guys and be done with it? Probably be a really good team. That would work. And then just draft one. Draft lineman and for severs. Listen, I, the one of the best drafts I've ever seen that changed that team, changed the Jess team forever was the team where we picked D-Brick and. Yeah, well, remember we had, we had. DAB. four first round picks that year. So that doesn't happen all the time. I know, but we picked linemen. We picked guys. We picked big fatties. Justin: Yeah, because when you get four, you can spend two of them on linemen. We actually, we picked those. Jake: Only two we picked out of that first round. No, it was four. Justin: Do we just trade them in? No, we picked Pennington, and we picked Anthony. in. Wasn't that the same draft? Oh, that was with John Abraham and Sean Ellis. Yeah, we had two in that draft. Jake: That's a different draft. We had D-brick at six and mangled at 25. But out of that draft, we'll look at those two guys how they changed that team for fucking 10 years. So if they go out and purchase Kirk Cousins and they at six, pick a lineman, center, tackle, don't care. Justin: Yeah, just a guy take a left tackle. There you go. Jake: I would too. And take another one in the second round. Sure. Take a guard in the second round. Yeah, I don't know if we have enough money to pay. It looks like this deal is going to be one of these whoppers. You know, it's going to be 100 million plus deal. You know. Whatever. Yeah, I'm all in Kirk Cousins, but I'm not going to cry. If it doesn't come, I'm just like, eh, whatever. Oh, that's the circumstances that we're in. Fine, then we get to go draft a quarterback. We just kind of know what it's telegraphed. Here's what's going to happen, right, in a draft quarterback. And then go spend money on other players. I mean, how about there's some, isn't Ziggy Onza? Is he a free agent? I don't know. Like, I haven't looked at all the free agents. I know there's some corners out there. Justin: Give me that guy. There's the dude from Chicago who's a corner who's pretty good that they're looking at. I mean, we should get a corner. Yes. And an end. And I feel like our defense is like. Missing a playmaker. We have a playmaker. We have a playmaker. His name is Jamal Adams. Jake: Yeah. Yeah. Not enough. Not enough. Yes. Our defense wasn't that good this year. And our offense hurt because they couldn't drive. They couldn't take time for Cox. It's a team game. Justin: They affect each other. Jake: It's a team game. That's impacted each other. Two hundred ninety-three episodes and you just came up with it's a team game? It is a team game. They do impact each other. Alright. Alright, uh... Justin: Well, we've talked about that. We've talked about the playoffs at all. Not really. They were. There were some good games in there, I guess. I mean, Championship weekend was, you know, the Pats beating the Jags. The Jags. My Jags. So goddamn close.
02 Justin: But couldn't close the door. Jake: Yeah. Well, every Jett fan in the world knows that they lost that game. At the end of the second second quarter, you cannot do what they did. You're not by Patriots You're never a play to do that. You're down by when the game starts zero zero You're down by 14 and you know what that is that is not trusting your quarterback, right? Although a lot of shitty quarterbacks have done well in the playoffs. So this is like the shitty quarterback draft Justin: Oh, yeah, the final four playoffs were Case Keenum, who definitely lost a lot of money that day. Yeah, Nick Foles is still a backup. I don't care. Right. But had no one's going to go. No one's going to go sign him to be their starter. It's been tried and he wins. We'll see. Well, it's been tried and it's failed. Jeff Hoss-Steathler didn't go off and become some great starter for anybody. I don't think Nick Foles is a starting quarterback. And I don't think I don't think Case Keenum is either. Well, Nick Foles is not starting quarterback for the Eagles because they don't need him to be. Jake: But he should just stay with the Eagles. Be a backup. Oh, he wants to sue boys. Just fucking retire. Give up. Well, it's the thing about having to collect in those checks as a backup. That's why he's a great backup, because he's like a guy who. I think could come in and again there was that here he was at 27 touchdowns and yeah That was because he was in a funky offense that no one ever seen but he still threw five intercept five touchdowns in the game Like he still showed real separate. He still showed like oh my god. This guy is like real Justin: I know but then he went to the Rams and started and he was in a shittier offense and he couldn't make it work Jake: Oh, there you go. That's that Uh, yeah, so it's a Patriots Eagles Rematch, I guess it is. And let's talk about let's talk about what. Well, I guess we have to end with. Let's talk about let's talk about Super Bowl. Let's talk about it. OK. What's the line right now? I think the line right now is five and a half. I don't want to go into four. I was looking the other day. I don't know why we go down anywhere. I thought you were looking in the jet Kingdom pick them by the way Ozjet one because he's at 139 and I'm at 137 So I cannot catch him Justin: So it's odd. So let's see. It's Patriots minus four and a half now. It's four on jet Kingdom pick them I would I would wait till that's three and a half to start paying final trips. It's for Jake: Well, we talk about that. We played all season. I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Eagles just cuz I think I think it's gonna be close Justin: The Patriots don't play. Last year was their largest win. I'm lacking the words here. But they won by six points last year. That was their largest margin of victory. And it was in overtime. All of their other games have finished within a field goal or four points. Or they've won in the very end by a field goal.
00 Justin: Even the ones they've lost, they've lost by like a handful of points. The games that they play in the Super Bowl are not blowouts. They are not typical Patriot regular season games. They are they are legitimate close down to the wire good football games. So I think we're in for a good game. That's good. I hope. Typically, they're good games. Jake: I mean, I think you do that. We talked about the playoffs. You brought this up years ago when you're talking about the playoffs. You just look at the two teams. You go, best head coach, best head coach, head coach, quarterback, quarterback, who's going to win the game. There's almost no doubt in my mind that the Patriots are going to win this game. it. They just they're just better. They're better than this team. Yep, like by Don't know if they're better by four. I also mentally cannot pick the Patriots like i've done this all All Patriots are gonna win by a fillable and that's that fine. They're gonna win. Um, it's over johnny Justin: And want to do some fun props. Yeah, let's do some props. All right, so there's all sorts of props. There's pregame props Like, you know, about the national anthem, over two minutes, under two minutes. Two minutes is where that's being set. What color will Pink's hair be? Oh, wow. A lot of different odds on that. Will Pink forget or omit a word? Let's keep going to some of the other stuff. So, all right, let's go to some of the in-game props. So the first half line. You can get basically the the paths are favored by three in the first half. There's also an over under of 24. I'm gonna take the under. Yeah, I think that's an under as well. Jake: Because I think even the playoffs, most games started really slow and then kind of picked up in the second half. Justin: I think that's an under and I think that's the Eagles plus three in the first half. I wouldn't be surprised if they go into halftime with a lead. Jake: And they all have thought they're doing well. Oh yeah. But we'll know they've already lost. They're, the game's over. The game's over. With 55 seconds to go, you try to go down the field and you try to get some point you don't just kneel. Yep, exactly. Justin: Let's go to some of these. Jake: By the way, if Todd Bowles had done that, I'd be signing the fire Todd Bowles thing. So like if you don't know the guy you're playing, you don't know the team you're playing. . that just can walk down the field whenever they want. You can't just let them, you can't do that. Justin: Here's a good one for Patriot staff. Will there be a score in the final two minutes of the first half? Yes. Yes. Is minus 300, no is plus 240. I'm gonna go yes. You understand how that works, yes. No. Minus 300 means you have to bet 300 to win $100. Would do that plus 240 means you bet $100 to win $240. I would take them. I would take the yes Jake: Yeah, when the Pats are involved that's what they're gonna score cuz they're gonna score. Will the game go to overtime? No Justin: Will there be a two-point conversion? Jake: Yes, the Pats love to do plus 250. Yeah, okay
01 Justin: Will there be a fourth quarter lead change? Horace? Super Bowl Total number of players to have a passing attempt over under two and a half. So someone's gonna have a trick play or maybe a backup or something. Patriots I think had three trick plays in that last game. They're gonna lose to a one. I don't know if anyone threw one though. There were a lot of running. There were run options. Jake: No they did. They didn't have... I don't think anyone threw the ball. They didn't even throw one or... I don't think anyone threw it. Didn't work, but no they did throw I remember I just brought who threw it Think white through it Justin: Anyway, all right will there be a safety? No, it's too tough. That's too tough. There's a lot of first score props So like is it a Patriots touchdown Patriots field goal Eagles field goal Eagles touchdown pass throw run Defensive no touchdowns in the game Oh safety first score in 22 to 1 You have to pick each team. All right, then we have first touchdown scorer, Gronk 15-2, I think he's the odds on favorite to be the first scorer. Nick Foles down at the bottom is 33-1, and then there's the. Jake: Any other touchdown scorer? Yeah, I think I think I'd go in with I think i'd go down and put some power in vegas I've put some money on nick foles because he could run one in. Yeah sure I mean, there's also blunt. I'd put blunt. That's a great blunt at 14 to one sounds good to me also hogan That's a hogan at 14 to one looks good to me. Not smith not brady. Not aguar. I don't know why not brady He's good at sneaking doesn't do that very often. It's good. He's a good sneaker Justin: They got the color of the Gatorade. Jake: But that's something you know. Like that's the thing. But you don't know. They do. There's someone who is making the color right now. Like they're a little disturbing it. So that's, no. Justin: Blue is plus 250. It's gonna orange. All right. There's lots of like Tom Brady passing yards over under 294.5. You over using a throw for uh 300 yep so they i have here in his history his first super bowl he threw for 145 yeah that wasn't really tom brady yet defensive yeah then he threw for 354 236 266 276 Jake: 328 466 which was a big comeback over the last two years it's gonna be over Justin: okay Tom Brady total touchdown passes over under two and a half over will Jake: Brady throw an interception I mean he just don't want to pick back because he's so rare but Justin: I see yeah I like I like the Eagles D. Grunk total receptions over under five and a half. Over. Jake: Unless he gets hurt but you can't predict that. Justin: Nick Foles total completions over under 22 and a half. Jake: Under. Big time. Justin: Attempts 35.
04 Jake: It's still a lot. I'm going to go under on that too. 35 is a lot of attempts. They're in trouble. They're in trouble if they're doing that. Justin: Let's see. Liguera Blunt total rushing attempts over under 7.5. Jake: Total attempts? Over. Attempts. Attempts, over. Justin: Well, they have J.J. I remember. Jake: Yeah, but they were going to put them in and out. Let's see. Justin: Zacharz, I think, is their best receiver, Alton Jeffery. So Zacharz receiving yards over under 60 and a half. Jake: Oof. That's tough. That's tough. I have no idea where he would even end up on that. Okay. All right, what will be higher? Temperature of kickoff in Minnesota minus 150. Total points scored in the first quarter plus 110. So total points scored in the first quarter could be seven, three, 10. What will be higher? I think the points I think the points would be higher. Yeah, it's gonna be what one it's gonna be like four degrees We're like zero especially it's like six seven. It's awesome be negative which means zero would win. Yeah, that's true They can't have negative points Will be greater Phil de la Eagles touchdowns in Super Bowl 52 with a Joel Embold block. Oh, you're doing the cross sport props. Oh, yeah, that's Joel and B blocks on that day Justin: Oh stupid don't do those All the rest of these are cross sports. All right, what are the just news? Jake: We have any no other just news a suitable who you picking for the wind Super Bowl The Patriots are gonna win. It's gonna suck. But who you picking the checking and pick them you gonna pick the under not we're gonna pick it Justin: What? 23 20 we hired- we hired that. Jake: I don't think you'll have a good defense. Yeah it doesn't matter. It does. I actually think this could be in the 30s. I could see a 33 30. Yeah. Yeah totally. Justin: If it's in the 30s it's 33 13. It's not a close game in the 30s. Yeah I guess that that one I think yeah I can see them scoring. I can see a scoring. It's not a close game in the 30s. If it's in the 30s, it's a blowout. 31-29 kind of thing. The D30, I can see. prepping for two weeks against a backup quarterback. I don't care if he's got experience, Jake: I don't care if he's still the backup. But do you think that's the Belichick plan, take out him or take out Jai'i? Because Jai'i's kind of their workhorse.
01 Justin: A Jai'i can do all he wants, but when it comes down to it, when they're inside the 20, they're not gonna score touchdowns. Speaking of Bellcheck, tonight, set your T-VOTE. Nope. What looks to be, what is going to be a really good 30 for 30, 9 o'clock ESPN, the two bills. Bellcheck and... ourselves. Oh, sitting together. Interviewed and they're gonna go through their history and they're Oh really? Where we hired and a lot of people don't know the whole story but here's what we did and they're gonna dive into it But if you recall way back to when we got ourselves Well, we hired bell check first right and said You're the head coach Welcome to the Jets from the Patriots. There was shady ownership shit and we realized oh shit we have a chance and they were in the Super Bowl We have a chance to get Parcels. Let's go get Parcels. That little jerk will be fine with it. We'll just tell him. He won't keep a grudge. When Parcels is, you know, because he only sticks around for three, four years anyway. When he's done, it's your job. That little jerk's job. Right. So that's what we did. We went and we hired Parcel. You didn't know that? I knew the end of it. Well, that's why he fucking hates us. So we go out. He's a good soldier. He does his thing with Parcels. He's the defensive coordinator. We have the number one defense the league for like two years straight or whatever. We make an AFC championship game. We should have probably made the Super Bowl the next year. We were probably the best team, but Vinnie gets hurt in the first week of the season. Set that game. And then the man who took over for him, Tom Tooper, comes in. Jake: No, I thought Ray Lucas first this season. Justin: No, Tom Tooper the punter came in for. And then Rick Myer played for like six games, and then Parcels was like, well, this isn't working. Let's try Ray Lucas. And we won some games. Anyway, so Belichick holds this grudge over the course of time. But when Parcels leaves, uh They announced Belichick as the head coach, and he I quit HQ, MYJ, whatever, and then does his two WordPress conference, and then goes back to the Patriots, who got screwed by us, who then screw us back, and have been screwing us for 20 years. Pretty much, although I think. Yeah, because we screwed them multiple times. We grabbed their we grabbed Bello check, we grabbed ourselves,
00 Justin: and then we grabbed Curtis Martin from them in a lopsided trade. But they're going to go into some of that stuff today. I mean, they'll start with the giant stuff and then they'll go. Jake: I didn't know that. I didn't know that. I mean, I knew that he had a grudge. I knew he was pissed. I didn't know that because we hired him totally first without the whole Parcells thing. We were just like, you're the head coach, dude. That just makes me sick to my stomach. Like, take the way back machine. What if you went back, took him, didn't take Barcells? Yeah, we're the Patriots. Right. Or we're the Jets now. How many would it be a series of rings? Or maybe not? Maybe those three years? Justin: No, he was ready to rock. He was ready to go. He was a good head coach. He was ready to go. Would we have drafted Tom Brady? Doubtful, but whoever it was that we would have drafted, Chad Pennington maybe, would have been just as good. It would have happened. Jake: All right, we got to wrap it up here. So that's it. We'll be back. We'll start. We'll do a free agency show after the Super Bowl. Talk about Super Bowl. We'll do a free agency show. We'll do a pre-draft show. We'll do a post-draft show. I'm trying to catch up with the news. It's not gonna be every week, but maybe every other week or so. But until then, as always, Justin and Jake saying, let's go Jets. Thanks.
