00:23 Jake: a joining me 300 billion times in a row, that's 321 times in a row. Justin, how you doing Justin? 300 plus 1 billion. So first of all, because of many many upgrades to many many different pieces of software and many many operating systems I just want to apologize in advance that if A, you never hear this, sorry. B, if it sounds like crap, sorry, but basically I've been holding onto the oldest version of GarageBand I possibly could on the planet and now we had to upgrade. So we just had to rebuild this. So I'm currently recording. It's in a whole new interface. It's a whole new thing. It might not work. so sorry 44 Justin: All right, you're like the the david falk of of quarterbacking podcasts here Uh, although you gave like a little warning as opposed to we didn't get any warning on that package. It was like Jake: He's ready. Whatever. He did some mental reps mental reps. Yes, got some mental reps This could sound like david falk looked Right. It could. It's not gonna sound like... Or could sound like Sam looked. Ooh. Yeah. So again, it could sound really great because it's like on a new... I went from GarageBand 6 to 10. So like there were some skips in there somewhere. Justin: Same that QB. Come on buddy, you got it. Chad! There you go. It's the Chad. Jake: Is it the Chad?. a a That's an upgrade I think, the from the internet. I don't know if you can get most people out of the internet. Anyway, I'm going to get this little bit off. You're usually a little off. We have two games to talk about, one we're gonna quickly talk about. That's gonna be super quick. So... Because we skipped a week of podcasting after a bi-week because we're so fucking pissed. We went through the bi-week, then we had the Philly game? Correct. Right, so the Philly game and you know... I guess the part of the problem is that we have all these side conversations that we never bring into the podcast because we're not being recorded constantly. But let's I don't care about the fellow game at this point. What I what I care about is that I don't feel that it was just handled well. Like they practiced Sam all week. They kind of didn't
03:00 Jake: know if he's gonna play. They didn't let this young shmub have any who's not even on the team anymore have any kind of say or any kind of practice and it's kind of last minute, Sam can't play, they throw out Luke Falk and he just looks like trash fire. I mean he just looks terrible. What's his name? Luke Falk, David Falk. I can call him David Falk. Yeah, it's not David. It's not David. It's David Falk, someone else. Yeah, we waved him. He's gone. Yeah, he's gone. Well now our backup is fails. Which is very apropos. I mean, I guess that's just my thing. Maybe the quarterback market is so... You are not... Can I just describe how nuts you were? No. Yes. No. You're not... You don't even get the permission. You're just being described now. Justin: What about the permissioner? Fine. Jake: Um... Justin: After that Philly game... Or during it even... I had to like stop texting with you because you were driving me out of my fucking mind with your over and over and over and being so adamant about how do we not have another quarterback. Right. And I kept saying to you, we did have another quarterback. His name was Trevor Simeon. Simeon. He got hurt in a freak way and by the way, we have this other quarterback His name's Sam Darnold and he's not out for the year. He'll be back like maybe even next week So the notion of like going to get a guy Didn't make any sense Who you gonna get was my question back to you over and over and over by three or four named some guys that Have started NFL games started there Tom Savage was one of your big big answers three Brock The cock was one of your other big big answer your big answers to the problems are all just losers So like so Luke Fogg is the answer another loser Jake: So like don't you think though that any stop was the birdie and 45 years ago could have come in and done better Justin: Hold on a second Testiverty's like at least 50 by now. At least. Fine. And the second part is, there really is nobody that you can just pick up off the street, look at the Steelers this week, it happened to them. They had to play like third string quarterback because they're back up, Dot concussed and then they played the third string guy like that's what you gotta do Well, they won because they're the Steelers. That's not a thing. Well, it is a thing. Jake: That's not a thing. You don't win because you're because of the the jersey wear. Justin: You could argue that a team like the Steelers who've had the same ownership, I don't know, for fucking ever and like three coaches in 80 years are a very stable organization. That doesn't make that your backup, your third-string quarterback play better because you know there's continuity in the building meaning
06:02 Justin: There's like the players that are there know their shit as opposed to us which is every two years It's like a fucking rebuild and hindsight go out. I say hey, let me just snag a guy off the street and be like Hey, come on in let's play. Let's throw you out there Jake: I don't know what happened because I wasn't in the office But what I didn't hear in the buzz and whatever was that they were trying and I wanted to hear I want to hear like, hey, we're really trying, we're trying to see, we know Sam might have been not back for weeks. He might have come back and played one series and gotten hit and been out. There still should be an answer in the locker room that isn't Sam Darnham for the rest of the season. There should be and you know now and you and there's a failure now so I can even go back. So yes, there's a failure three weeks ago. Justin: There's a failure now. Fails cannot be our backup. Who then? Who? Who? Jake, you keep saying that and the answer is not Brock Osweiler. The answer is not Tom Savage. They're not the answer. Again, not the answer. If you're playing those guys, why not David Fails? Jake: I swear to god why not well because we saw what David Fills well we didn't we saw what what come on Yeah, but sales was behind Luke, but dude like what are these guys records just coming in? Like with nothing you don't feel you see I know you're like all like what are you gonna lose anyway? Justin: So why not just lose why bring in another guy? What's the point guys you just bring in it doesn't matter why? Jake: Lost their here's my point when the Patriots lost their kicker. They went out and they got Five fucking kickers. You're talking about a kicker. Yeah. Justin: When we lost our kicker or chose to cut him, we brought in four or five kickers. You don't do that with quarterbacks. Why not? Because kickers can line up and kick. There's no play. It's lineup, kick. Order backs come in and throw the ball. Oh, really? Jake: They don't have to memorize an entire fucking playbook? And what would you rather have their back there memorizing an entire fucking playbook? Some person who's never taken a snap in the NFL. Or at least someone who has played Doesn't matter see it doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter Justin: It does matter it matters is that the game might be slightly less frustrating to watch for you But they're going to lose regard that's cuz Tom Savage is the loser. We don't otherwise he'd be on a team Sure, us. Weiler is a fucking loser. Otherwise, he'd be on a team. Mm-hmm. Don't you think? Jake: Brandon Weeden, don't you think he'd be on a team? Here's my hypothesis, you can argue with it all you want. When you lose your starter and your second, you owe it to the team, to everybody on the planet to try to go out and to get somebody who is one of those, I'm not saying Brock is a starter, he's a backup, but you need to bring in a backup. Luke is not a backup. You saw it, right? He wasn't a backup. He's not a backup quarterback. Justin: We saw that he was not a good quarterback. Jake: He's a high school player. He's not a backup. So you owe it to the team to bring in a backup. They didn't bring in a backup.
09:00 Jake: And we still don't have a backup. And you're not at all concerned. You're not at all concerned. Justin: No, no, because the season's over. That's right. Oh, okay. No, no, no, no, no, no. I do not believe the season's over, but if Sam were to get- Did he have to make the playoffs? Yes. But we lose him for more than a half. The fucking season's over. If we lose Sam for any games, you're right. The season's over. Jake: So then, but that's not how you play football. You don't just say the season's over and say, Justin: you have to keep trying to play the win. Jake. Jake. They had a backup quarterback on the roster. And when you lose one, you go get another one. Who? I keep saying to you, who? I gave you three. They all suck. Yeah. You may as well throw David Fails out there. No, because that's instant failure. Because you don't know about David Fails. You literally have no clue. Trust me. Jake: We all know David Fails. Justin: We know Brock the Cock. He's a loser. He's been on a thousand teams and has never stuck. And has played and won games and won playoff games. And no. And no. He's won many games. Many? Define many many what's his record? I don't know look it up. You got a computer in front of you I don't what's his fucking career record and who'd he play for I? Mean the guy's a loser Uh-huh, we make fun of him. We haven't made fun of him three back up quarterback. I agree So we have a backup quarterback. No, you want don't we do not you do not have a back. You don't You're not making the playoffs with Brock Osweiler. So what's the point? You're not making the playoffs with Tom Savage. So what's the point? Jake: You're not making the playoffs with Sweden. What is the point? That is the that is the that is the Failless arctic art then you're then the season's over then you're right the season's over if you're admitting the season's over fine I agree with you. If Sam gets hurt the season's over. That is right over. It is not I got a lot of C receiving games. Let's see. Why do I not have like his overall record? I don't know, because you're not good at this. No. Game logs. Career stats. You're just bad at this. Games. He's played a lot. He's played 49 games. Justin: That's great. That's a lot. That's good. 49 games. What's his record? Jake: Why am I not getting a record out of this? I don't know, man. Game lock. Hold on. Don't know. Do, do, do, do. Oh. I don't know. Preseason. Oh, this is all. Justin: He has started 30 games in his life. I can't tell you that much. He has played in 49. And how many has he won? Jake: I don't have any wins losses. Justin: I'm just looking at his Wikipedia page. Should probably have more on this than ever. Whatever. Jake: The point is he's one more than zero. He's one more than zero. That's what I'm gonna say. There's zero and then there's a amount that these guys have won. Sure. I still don't understand what you're looking for in... the backup in the in the What is essentially the third is he actually on Miami Dolphins right now? No, it says is on Miami Dolphins Okay, is that just wherever he lasted he last ended up. I don't think he's actually I think he's so frigid
12:04 Jake: I have again. Yeah, I just know he's not good. That's all I agree. He's not good I just don't think you should continue down this season without a backup quarterback We have a backup quarterback. We do not. His name is David Fails. Justin: Nope. He is exactly the same as other people. Jake: Okay, you'll learn that he's on a backup quarterback just like when you learned that Luke Fauck wasn't a backup quarterback. Justin: And we learned, and when you're playing your backup... But when you're playing your backup quarterback, you're not really expecting to win. Jake: untrue. You're actually expecting to really, really, how is the Saints doing with their backup quarterback? Have they won four games in a row? Yeah. Oh, they have? But if Teddy Bridgewater got hurt, then what? Then they have another guy behind him? What's his name? He actually could win a game or two. He would be Tim Tebow running. How many playoff games did Tim Tebow win? Exactly one. relent? That's more than games that Luke has started in. Justin: And we know that Tim Tebow is not a good comparison. You owe it to the team. You owe it to the team. Jake, there's no backup quarterback on this team. Holy fuck! They have a backup quarterback! No they don't. They do. His name is David Fales. He actually exists. He's a third string quarterback. They had a backup. His name is Trevor Simeon. Don't talk to any other team and be like, Hey, what happens when you lose your backup quarterback? What do you do? It's like, oh, we're fucked. If our starter gets hurt, we're fucked. Jake: So season's over. Anyway, I disagree with you. I don't think you just keep going. Justin: You have naming names, Brandon Weeden. Awesome, that's inspiring. Brock Osweiter, that's super inspiring. Backups. Tom Savage, that's inspiring. Backup. They're the same as David Fails. No, they're absolutely not actually started and one all of them have started and one then why aren't they on teams? They suck exactly so David Fails can suck just as bad as they fails was behind Fuck you can suck worse than fuck. Here's them. Here's the all these guys suck. You just said it. They suck Jake: Why do you want someone who sucks? There's a level of suckitude? Justin: There's the suckiest of sucks. When you have a guy in there that you know sucks, like Brock Osweiler. Jake: Yes, it's a scale. It's not a it's not a. Why do you want to watch that? I mean, I'd rather not watch that. I'd rather just not watch the game. No, I want someone who has a chance of maybe with. of being able to actually pass down the field and you have no effing clue. Listen, you can argue the point all you want. There's no point to saying that putting out fails who was behind Luke. So that means this is how good our team went. It went from the Sam Donald to Simeon to Luke Falk, who we watched play, who is not a quarterback. to this guy who's now our backup? Are you fucking kidding me? He's our backup. Any one of those three guys I named is better. And I can tell you why. Because they actually played on actual teams in the actual NFL and actually won.
15:00 Jake: But they're not. But they're not. But they're not. But they're not in the NFL now and fails it is. This guy isn't in the NFL. He is actually, because he dressed. He dressed for a game, didn't he? Justin: Did either of those. Did either of those three guys dress for a game? If you feel more comfortable- Hey, hey, did either of those three guys dress last week? Why? Why aren't they on NFL teams? I don't know what they're on the Steelers right now. They are on their third string, why aren't they on the Jets right now? Because maybe they're better at drafting third strings than me. Like, what is this? Why aren't they on a team? These are all questions- Why aren't they on the Redskins? That said, Jenna- Like, why aren't the Redskins have- Quarterback why they all got hurt. They just dratas there to start Colt McCoy and they're not even starting there They're rookie that they drafted that's what they have What exactly what exactly like I've just said it a thousand like should we be doing here? Jake: You should be getting the best chance to win the game and do not tell me that David feels is the best chance as a best don't even tell me that Brandon Whedon is a better chance Justin: Yes, he is don't even start. I just That guy hasn't been in the league in like four years. Jake: I'd rather have a guy who hasn't been in the league in four years than a guy who has never touched the ball. No. You'd rather have someone who's ne- You saw what that was. You saw what Luke Fk did with someone who's never taking a snap. You saw how bad he was. I did. He's never taking a snap. Literally, that's why Vinny tested Verde could come back and little stand back and just wing the ball down the field. Your- Justin: Your attitude towards this is very laissez-faire. No, it's not. Yes, it is. It makes Fking moves. It's very laissez-faire. And it's very like, oh yeah, it's so easy to just get another quarterback and just bring him right into the building. Jake: That's why you make $3 million a year. It's not easy. Justin: So easy to just go get another guy and bring him in and be ready. You gotta try. Group to me you're trying. Show me the track. They made a calculated risk during the week of the Philly game and it backfired in their face. That's exactly right. And I, as a fan, go and fuck you. Jake: They went ahead and Sam got healthy and he played in the Dallas game. I'm still concerned that Sam if you were to do Justin: Shut the fuck up whatever backup quarterback they have out there is gonna lose the game Jake: Okay, that's it. Next year when we sign a backup quarterback I'm gonna tell you that it doesn't fucking matter who that is Even though we've argued a thousand times that you need to have someone they should be doing everything they puck in power to get somebody in there Justin: But what you're talking about now is we're in like week six or seven of the season. Yeah There's no one there. We had Trevor Simeon on the roster. If Sam didn't have mono, and he never got hurt, and you said, hey, what's our backup situation look like? I'd be like, it looks pretty good. We talked about it. We have Trevor Simeon who could probably win a game or two. And then he actually played and we were like, uh. And then he played and it didn't look very good. No. And it didn't look very good in the first quarter or whatever. And by the way, fails, not playing in that game, not dress, but. FALC came into that game and he went 20 of 25 for 200 yards so he actually looked fine. So they're like okay cool we can kind of move forward with this guy and then he sucked. Right. So like it's not like he went out there and shit a bed in the game that he was like Jake: prepared to go in as a backbend for. I'm just stunned that there are professionals in this in the NFL. There are coaches, there are staff members of the hundreds of staff
18:03 Jake: members of the New York Jets who sat there and watched this guy in practice. He looked good enough to ship him up and to put him up in the Foxborough field like it just I don't know how that You know what? They probably also sat there and said well Justin: Yeah, fuck it. We can't just sign Brandon Whedon right now and have him do any better That's why I get we can't have Brock Osweiler come in here on Wednesday and just be better by Friday Jake: Yeah, I like that's not gonna be a thing great if it is a thing if you think that it's not a thing That's great. It's your opinion. You have an opinion. I have an opinion Yeah, I don't think that they did enough to try or at least said they did enough to try to bring in someone and I still Think it's a problem. I get the seasons over we can all just admit the seasons over and I'm not saying goes down They're just gonna they're just gonna put in way. We do this season is over the murk you no way It is if you don't have a backup quarterback Justin: It isn't if the starter doesn't get hurt. Yeah, cuz then cuz look around the NFL. That's that's likely Hmm Quarterbacks play every 16 at all game like there are a lot of quarterbacks who start every game Jake: Very few lots. Okay, not ours by the way not ours So no that's not has not yeah does not have a history of doing that It's not like we've Eli's like oh ten years that guy never fucking gets hurt. You're right We don't have a history of that. We have a guy got hurt last year and we got a mono this year. Fuck all we know he's out there kissing girls right now. We're gonna get B up on his mono. I hope so. I hope he's out there. I hope he's not sitting and kissing. Kissing, doing something else. Kissing Susie Culver and whatever. Ha! Um, anyway. So the Philly game, we were nothing. No, not a Philly game we learned absolutely nothing. The only thing good about the Philly game was that for a period of time it looked like the defense didn't give up. And I feel like I appreciate, so positive, I appreciate that the, that they were still trying. Like they knew that this game was a trash fire. They knew that they had... zero chance of winning after a certain point, but they still tried and I think they've tried in every game and they've played hard even with missing huge huge pieces of the roster. So whatever I just But we're so that was the game. But let's talk about the game that actually want to talk about The Dallas game the Dallas game Justin: You mean our road game at home? Holy crap, there are a lot of Cowboys fans. Yeah, there were Jake: 7030? No, I think so. 8020 Felt like 7030. I don't know a lot of Cowboys fans. Whatever. We still have like we're still at the top of the league in attendance Justin: Like, we have, like, average, like, 77,000 fans a game or something, second in a week. Jake: I don't know if that's sold to actual people walking the door. Definitely sold. Sold is sold. Yeah, well... They sell them. They sell them. But I think it's a game. Like, that's a game. We all know it's a game, because they don't sell them a certain point, then they have to black out the game, and everybody has a fit. There's actual butts in seats and I always feel the butts in seats is much lower than what they say. Yeah, that's
21:04 Jake: Besides my seats are sold. So if I don't show up they're still sold Justin: Yeah, yeah, either way though We have that we have that nice number that's pretty cool for the Jets Nice to know okay, it's more it's higher than the Giants in New York in the same exact stadium They don't have the same number. That's crazy We're ahead of them great anyway, so the game hundred-year team celebration So like the hundred-year NFL anniversary is this year? So they had the Jets all-time team. Yep They announced them pregame, which is really cool. Some highlights for us, some of the more recent guys. We saw Curtis Martin, Wayne Kerbet, Mo Lewis. Mo Lewis. Mangold. Nick Mangold. D-Rick. D-Rick. John Abraham. Yep. Big John. Was on that one. Rivas. Dorell Rivas, obviously, on that one. Oh, he hasn't shown up since... And then there were some of the older folks we know like, you know, Claco and Nameth obviously was there Handful of others. So it was pretty cool Right up above behind us D-brick was sitting in the in the luxury box like right above us using the SAP one Jake: Or is that this side? Justin: In a box box. So like turn around in the corner and oh look there's a d-brick. Jake: Oh and Post Malone was at the game. Oh well that happened. So that's cool. Justin: So that was fun seeing the guys out there before the game and they were interviewing them during the game which was kind of fun. So that was cool. And then like we got off, we got off to a good start in this game. We scored first. We didn't score on our first drive, but we also didn't go three and out. First play, play action, Sam, boom. Hits Demerius Thomas over the middle for like 20 yards and I'm feeling good. Like, oh, look, look what a difference a day makes.. a, holy crap the I Jake: It's extremely clear and I think even more draft the God, we should have been giving up draft picks for years to go get a quarterback because whatever for all the years that we didn't because it is such a difference between someone who who's a good quarterback who can move around in the pocket who can make the throws who who can read the defense and that same shitty shitty which is still a shitty offensive line a good quarterback can make a bad offensive line look okay Justin: a bad quarterback makes a bad offensive line look worse, It was a really interesting like start to the game. You know, you got this Cowboys like high-powered flute and offense number one in the
24:03 Justin: league offense and Jake: Duh-shuck down everywhere except for Cooper. They were missing Cooper. That's a little bit of a loss He did start the game right? He got injured during the game like in the first quarter, but that's fine Justin: I'm happy with our defense knocking players out of games. I have no problem with that. I legit seriously you want to knock Tom Brady out of next week game in the first quarter please do it knock them right out I don't care but this was a nice start you know they got a lot of guys involved very early so, so it was very clear like we're not gonna throw the bottle a beyond bail 20 times like this is going to be our offense and we're going to spread the ball around. It's very clear that Jameson Crowder is a huge part of this offense. Huge. Herndon will be an even big part when he comes back because, you know, in reality, like Ryan Griffin had a decent game. He had three catches for 28 yards and a touchdown on three targets. I think Herndon gets way more involved in that. and then the run game will open up. Like it's not there yet. The Run game just isn't there and I think that that's because nobody's quite respecting our passing game and they're gonna have to start too because Sam Darnold did some really impressive things. Some things I really loved seeing was there was a play that he made to Crowder actually where... the protection totally broke down but he like sidestepped one way stepped up the other way and his heads downfield the whole time and hits Crowder coming across the middle for like a 15-20 yard play and then in the second quarter when the Cowboys were driving down the field and went for an on fourth down inside of R-10 and Quentin Williams makes a hell of a play to stop Dak Prescott on that run on that design run the next play out the gate is play action 92 yard touchdown Robbie Anderson and if I wasn't sitting there in the parking lot telling you I think Robbie Anderson's gonna get one of those big ones off of play action you'd have to call me a liar I even bet on it and said Robbie Anderson's gonna score first goddamn touchdown and I missed on that one bye one touchdown. But I knew we would hit him on one of those long plays because Jake: Robbie's been like ready for that. Well we saw it in week one against the Bills. Like there was I think three big plays down the field to Robbie. Robbie, one there's a guy on top of him, one he just fumbled in, the other one I remember there was three maybe the one was over his head. But it was clear like that's part of the plan and that's where we left off last year. Right we left off with this. We saw this. We're like oh that can happen. Robbie is that guy. and can go down the field. It feels like this year, and maybe I was seeing in preseason a little bit, like he was making better catches. Like he was making, he was going for the ball,
27:00 Jake: or he's still not a big guy obviously, and he's not gonna be able to rip it out of some corners hands. But he still looks like, oh, he's really trying for it a little bit more. Doesn't have to just land in his lap. But yeah, and without a doubt, the accuracy. Again, that's a hard ball to throw. I love it in the post game. Sam was talking about it. He's like, when he talked about that, he's like, I just knew if I throw it up in his generation, he's like, in his general direction, he's like, Robbie, and I don't really think this about Robbie, but I guess Sam was being, you know, a great quarterback. He's like, Robbie's one of those players that you throw it up, and he's one of the best in the league. tracking the ball. Sure, sure, yeah. Do not believe that. Good, good. Yeah, that's nice, yeah. I'll take Julio Jones. Yeah, exactly. You take Robbie. Anybody. He's like the best of, you know, tracking the ball and bringing it in. And he said that, I was like, okay, all right, well, that seems like all I do is just throw in his general direction. Yeah, you threw it really beautifully. You did that in the Bills game and it didn't, no, it didn't actually happen. He has to be kind of alone a little bit. Like Robbie's not... Justin: Here's here's one or two catches that come to Robbie's game this year that didn't exist last year the back shoulder throw The back shoulder throw exists now. Yeah, it's in the fourth quarter when they When the Cowboys were kind of coming back and it was 21 16 We needed at least a field goal on our drive and Sam made a great play on the first play of the drive, stepped up into the pocket and hit Crowder over the middle for like 30 yards. And then shortly thereafter, hit Robbie for like 20-ish on a back shoulder. Like... He just threw it where only Robbie could catch it. All Robbie had to do was turn around and catch the ball. The defender was running like two yards past him at that point. And that wasn't there last year. That timing play. And for me to see it with like... In my mind such little practice Jake: Like I feel like they're not yet even but this is a very yes Is we're having even Sam around right from last year such an elevated experience, right? Justin: And then you know, right because they work together on that and clearly because you saw it in the preseason a little bit Where Robbie was like? Oh, Robbie will catch a 10 yard pass. Okay, like in the past, you'd see him catch like a two yard pass and get shoved around, or like a 40 yard pass down the field, but nothing really in between. Like they try those little slants or receiver screens with him and he's just too slight. But in this case, he's worked on that back shoulder and that can be a real weapon for a guy that most people know as like the guy who just darts down the field. Right. If you could just stop 25 yards down the field and have the ball hit you in the chest right when you stop Well, that's effective. Yep It's what Aaron Rodgers did all day with Jordy Nelson like you'd watch those guys on tape and
30:00 Justin: Jordy Nelson will be beating guys down the field and then he'd be beating guys on the back shoulder and you wouldn't know which way it Was which way it was coming at you and it all of a sudden Jake: We're Jordy had like 130 yards Sam came out of this like, you know, those will Feeling of like is he gonna be a little rusty hasn't played he was in this if you watch the pre if you watch the Right because we weren't we're at the game But we didn't so we went back and watched it and they started with this showing of his like this flak jacket He was wearing. Oh, yeah, goddamn like you go to war. So you think okay, he's not a hundred percent. There's still protecting him, right? There's still problems maybe with his liver or his spleen. So we don't want him really to get hit. But he didn't feel like he was very rusty. It wasn't like he came out and was like, oh, three and out. He came out firing. If you had said he's going to pass for over 300 yards on his first shot out of the bar, I would be like, nah, I don't think so. I think it's going to be more of a 220 type of game. This is his third 300 year. He hasn't played that. He hasn't played that for the New York chat. He always started about. He started about. You know unless there's some huge or ever. I feel like we can almost. Yeah he's got. He looks like a prayer. Looks like a prayer. That's 100% certain. I don't see I just don't see a way Justin: Injury sure need to see a little bit like yeah, we have the last four last year and again, what I didn't I didn't really think was a very good offense and then We have a game this year cuz like that bills gave me in a look very good He did know if you watch it back and I did He could have probably been sacked about eight times in that game. And he only took four and he didn't throw any interceptions. So like he played a clean game against a good defense and we know the Bills defense is good now like you know six weeks in there. But not good. A great defense. Jake: We watched them against the Patriots and they shut them down. They shut down a ton of teams. Justin: So that's that's their game. and they play D and they have a quarterback who. can do things. But Sam looked great in this game against Dallas. I think that the defense stepped up. Ezekiel Elliott was not as effective as he would normally be. I understood in the second half, I think you were sitting there like, why are you running the ball? Why are you running the ball? And it was like... Now they the Cowboys should have been running the ball Because they finally got it going in the second half and that's when I think is equal It really comes into his own. He's one of those guys that needs like 20 25 30 carries. Yep But we held them to 105 yards Which is nothing for Ezekiel Elliott in my opinion on 28 carries. It's not a lot and We also held him in check like for the most part like He had five catches for 47 like okay, whatever and there's two hidden stories of this this game that
33:02 Jake: Have to be sort of talked about one is there is the the luck bounce of the you know the bounce of the ball Before you rewatch the thing I said because I had rewatch it that morning. I said hey watch for how many interceptions that we could have had. Like four I think. Yeah, there were just these bounce ups. Justin: The ones that- They just were missing balls that were like hitting them in the head and like sort of bouncing straight in the air, but our guy like went to tackle. Yeah, or it was like, oh wait, shit. Jake: Or there was, he just wasn't around. There was one that was in the guy's hand, he dropped it. Oh, there were two that we dropped. So I'm looking at like the press guy and he, you know, he went- 28 for 40 and But zero interceptions right and he's not gonna get sacked a lot. Prescott's just not he's fast He's gonna move around big also hard to move I feel like his he could have thrown at least if you split those there should have been two more So in some ways this game was a very different game straight up dropped one. I think Marcus may straight up dropped one And both I think in the red zone like yeah, they were driving. Yes, they were driving Yeah, we could have stopped at least one of those field goals could have been completely stopped And then there's the fourth quarter drive where they were driving down to you know Go within while they were down by eight and they were trying this how many fucking flags in a row Justin: four like against them and us i think it was like six plays but four were against us that let them Jake: just go down the field two or three pass interference they were pretty nutty and Justin: what is very unclear to me and i don't quite understand is so i think inside of like two minutes i have to imagine that the coach just can't even bother. They can't do the reversal one. Because it's under two minutes, like you can't challenge under two minutes, right? For anything. For anything. I would have to think that that would have to come from, you know, New York or wherever. But I've also been watching, watch a lot of football. I've not seen them overturn one of these. Coaches have challenged these calls. Yeah, they have challenged a lot. They are not being overturned. They're just not even if it's like that's pretty fucking clear guy. They're just not overturning it They're not doing it. It's like yeah, it has to be quote Agreejus and it's like I guess he touched him early, but we called it the way we called it We're leaving it that way and I don't know if I even care for them to have a fucking replay then like if you're gonna call it super fucking tight on the field then fucking call it super tight on the replay Jake: otherwise don't have the replay whole thing is is is super well have a replay or have the ability to replay API well like don't Justin: have the ability to challenge API if you're gonna not overturn it regardless. Because that seems to be the attitude that they're going into these challenges with, which is like, fuck it. It's gotta be like the guy tackled him eight seconds early, otherwise, yeah, we're gonna go with what's on the field because we don't wanna make anyone look bad. Jake: Another thing is because PI is it's really the the you know other than going for the ball
36:02 Jake: Like you can both go for the ball and that's the one against Adams that was yeah Actually allowed to go for the ball. Yeah, it's that if you're not going for the ball You're not supposed to touch the other guy and if your head's not turned around then you're clearly not going for the ball And so the whole thing is broken. It's been broken for years though, ever since the catch not catch, the other catch not catch. Like we, they don't know how to define a catch. You know what's crazy? Taking a ball to the ground in a football move with a thing that doesn't move, but it can touch the ground, but it can't touch the ground. It's like this whole thing is just broken. Justin: So you know what's nuts is there was this, there's this documentary series, I think it's on ESPN and it's talking about like the history of football. but mostly from like a college perspective. Yep. Because college football just been around for longer. And it went back to like the origins of football. And it was like, yeah, you would not recognize what we called football when we invented it. It was basically just a big mess, scrum of dudes tackling the shit out of each other in a ball that was like knocked around. Rugby. more like rugby with even less rules and then as they decided like wait we need rules they started putting in rules and like downs like downs were kind of like the first thing yeah and lines line of scrimmage was a big one it's like this is a line you can't cross it before we start the play kind of like him but then they were like and this is why we have so it's such fucked up rules now is cuz like once you create rules you have to get super granular with rules and if you don't want a game that just looks like a big mosh pit of dudes killing each other you've got to have very specific rules and now guys are like super fast and super accurate and can do ballet dance on the sideline with their toes while they're catching. I ball a one hand like that shit just Jake: didn't exist when we wrote these rules. I also didn't have gloves that, you know, basically were, you know, could stick to the wall and climb the mountain, you know, Empire State Building. I will say, and I know there's a lot of it in the media. Justin: Like a lot of it goes to like, like, like holding, right? Yes. It wasn't a rule, but then they were like, wait, we can't just have a guy like sit on somebody. Yeah, like hold it like so holding has to be a now a penalty. Right. And then it's like, well, how do we define a hold? and a block from the back and a chop block. Can't this just be fucking easier? Jake: I don't actually mind, I don't mind the penalties. I think, well, it's two things. One, football is kind of unwatchable now. I mean, between this stuff, the replay, the penalties, and everybody's talking about it. Every media is just saying it's just unwatchable. It's just the worst. They have to fix it. You've become basketball, you idiot. But the thing that I don't, I think either, if you're gonna keep the penalties, I think they're not gonna get rid of penalties. I think they should be quicker and worth less.
39:01 Jake: Because the problem with a hold is a 10-yard hold. That's a lot. You're doubling the distance you have to get. How about like two? Like... How about five? Or five? Something so it doesn't make you like, oh, a holding penalty. You're one, you're first and 20. Also a PI down the field is 50 yards. That's bullshit. Justin: All you gotta do is chuck the ball 50 yards down the field. They should get a first down and five yards. Like you don't- Well, in college it's just 15. Right. It's 15. Go. Fine. I also am not a huge fan of like on third and I'm just gonna make some up, like third and 28. A five yard pass to the right. And on the left hand side, there's some like illegal contact. It's a five yard penalty in a first down. Hey, assholes, third and 28. He was running, he threw a five yard pass to the right really fast. That guy wasn't going to get 30 yards down the field, whether he's held or not. Use your fucking brain. So wait, give him the five yards. But not the... They're not the first down. Jake: First down automatic? Come on, guys. So I have to say, if you're going to keep them, make them less game changing. So sure, again, a whole point of a penalty, just like any penalty, whether it's a fine for parking your car or whatever, is to deter you from not doing it. Right. Right? So you're trying to deter people. But a five-year penalty on hold. It would be good enough to put 10 yards. It's like we want to make it 50 then make it a 50-yard hold Yeah, every holds a 50 how holds we have in the games will be no holds I mean every set quarterback will get killed because holds are generally protecting the quarterback or getting the runner going Yeah, right. This is the only reason plays. Yeah, I mean big big plays I don't know. It's just it's too many big plays come back with holding the good the good news is The positive is that the NFL is not afraid to change rules. They do change rules every year But between the kickoff which has now become ridiculous stupid the on the 25 the on-site take is broken It doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's undoable. It doesn't even exist. It almost happened again So yeah, that's because the guy didn't fucking catch it Justin: Oh, you mean the like really good receiver guy apparently there's some high school coach out there and they profiled him on ESPN Or NFL Network or whatever. There's some high school coach out there that doesn't believe in punting So he goes for it every fourth down no matter what and he doesn't believe in kickoffs. He only does onside kicks There you go. That's his strategy. I mean statistically I think there's under He was just talking about it with numbers. He was like, I don't punt. It's not worth it. Like it could get blocked. I could punt it four yards. Like what's the point? They could return it. I could hold like we can end up right back here. What's the point? And I can always make the first down by the way. Right. Like fuck it. And then with the onside, he's like, no one likes this, but we do it to fuck with people and we get the ball. Right. Occasionally get the ball. Who cares if they get the ball at the 50? Whatever, we stop them. That's our job. We stop people. Jake: I thought it was cool. Anyway, something interesting. They do need to. And I get it. And this is kind of where I was going when I talked about this in the offseason. I do think that.
42:01 Jake: This is terrible to say, but I think this is the begin to the end. This is the beginning to the end of this sport. This sport will become because of the player safety thing, which is real, and because of micro concussions, which is real, because we don't talk about that. Basically this sport's not going to be around. And here I am saying, let's hurt people. Yeah. Humans aren't going to play this sport in 20 years. Well, they will. They'll just be holding controllers. That's what I believe. Well, that was my prediction. That's my prediction. Esports is a good prediction because it's already there. It's there. And just make it happening. Again, I was still rooting for my team. It'd just be some 14 year old is your quarterback. Whatever, that's cool. But he's the best. Justin: Play the game for you. Jake: Play of the game for you. So many plays. I'll let you... You've already kind of picked your play of the game. And I... I think it's actually pretty good on the field. I would say to me it's a defensive stance since you kind of went offensive. The defensive stance that last play, that two-point conversion, I mean... Jamal right up the middle. It was... If you're not going to block someone, shouldn't it be not Jamal? Like, shouldn't you block Jamal? Super aggressive. I am so... I have such a man crush on Jamal. at Adam's watching him play just watching him on the field just seeing his his energy is exactly what they said during the draft Justin: Yeah, remember like Mayoc was like That's the guy that's your leader right there You just you just you just drafted your leader Jake: Did we just draft our raid and then you see him after and he makes even like he did I watched the interview with him after and he's like, how about them Cowboys? Like he's, he's an asshole. He's like, but he's your asshole. He's your asshole. He's your asshole. He's your asshole. And on the field, he backs it up. Justin: He's good. Which is what matters. And he's, now you know, I'm a big Marcus May fan. I think Adams is better and flashier, but Marcus May is the one that like keeps it all together. Oh yeah. Jake: And he's a really good tackler. Marcus May's a... Very nice. I think Marcus may have said more interceptions than... Yeah, he's just in position more often. He's a free safety. It is fun to watch. So that last play, even though it was, you know, you go back to the watch the game, you're like, oh, it looked like we were kind of had, you know, had it in control. Pretty much the whole game. Didn't feel like you're gonna lose. No, until that last drive. But then you go back and you rewatch it, you're like, shit, they scored the touchdown after four. interceptions or for penalties that just move them down the field they were at something like third in something that would have just been that game it was over that game was over and then they got in and they got another but that play and I'll give it to I'll give it to the defense and then it's a coordinator he called up the like just go get him go get him Greg said go get him that is Justin: that is balls and they went and got him you know if no pressure in his face he probably completes that ball to Witten yeah so Witten's a Jake: big like boxy out target hey I do was and the other thing again for the luck factor of us not having six four picks we made of had a two of they had a shit ton of drops I was surprised so many drops on they had drops all the time
45:01 Jake: drops that were like hit guys right now how do you wouldn't get so open though he was so open he just goes I'll tell you how he turns around I'll tell you how it and get so how from the broadcasting booth injuries Justin: Simple as that. Jake: That's the linebackers to want him to be on him. Justin: You got Brian Cashman. I call Brian Cashman shit. That's the Yankees general manager. You got Cashman out there, backup middle linebacker. Then you got Hewitt out there, other backup middle linebacker. Who got hurt. Who got hurt. When out. To bring in the third string middle linebacker. Who also got hurt and then they brought it back in because he had a stinger So you kind of had like a like a really beaten up like listen We know that's supposed to be CJ Moseley and Avery Williamson in there, right? And it's not it's a rookie and another guy who's like kind of a rookie so and then a backup to that guy And Neville Hewitt is okay, and Cashman's like okay, but Mosley's like all world so Yeah, there's that and yeah, Witten is a smart player. He'll He'll come off the line of scrimmage, and he'll immediately see that it's either man or zone. If it's zone He's just gonna sit in the middle of it Right and wait wait and he's just dax like safety blanket Jake: Who was your played again the night to your touchdown has to be in your night Justin: Warmest has to pick. Yeah, so I'll give you Sam. I'll pick Sam Sam Donald you're gonna pick Sam On that one. I'm gonna I'm gonna pick... Jake: Hmm Okay, we don't have it unlimited time. Yeah, you're right. I'm gonna pick Jameson Crowder He is he is something amazing Justin: I would disappear for two three weeks and then all of a sudden he's back to like now He needs a smart quarterback in the game to play with him because of what he does Because what he does takes an extra split second of time He's he's that omen out there for us. Yeah, and he's good. He's very good And he has good hands and he catches the ball. Yep, and he runs after the catch too He has very good. So some injury notes real quick Osemaly is out for the year. Yeah So we're he hasn't played the last two games The guy that we picked up for depth before the season started that Joe Douglas did actually now our left guard the guy from Baltimore, right and also beecham got hurt in this game and He's our starting left tackle and in came Brandon shell who got benched at right tackle. Who's now our left towel? so Beecham's week to week And I guess shell will be starting at left tackle with a doga the rookie at right Jake: I just moved to the draft and just draft this guy. What can we can I just I don't even know who that guy is Justin: But it's some lineman. It's and then Herndon and CJ Moseley
48:02 Justin: Maybe this week. We're hearing Moseley might even be practicing this week. We'll know I guess later today today is Wednesday We'll know today whether he practiced or not Herndon they're saying maybe another week. It really sucks that he had like he come on coming off that four Game suspension He got to deal with this hamstring It would really help that feels like conditioning to me. Sorry. Sorry. I mean it 100% feels like can of course it yeah that makes me angry like Jake: Dude, you got nothing else to do. Literally fucking keep yourself in good position. Justin: Yeah, like, Laid-On Bill took a year off, and he's playing, like, almost every play. By the way, he didn't this week. No, it took- Balal Powell had a series where it was the Balal Powell series. That's fine. Didn't go anywhere. You should do that. But they should be doing that, right? Jake: Yeah, nice play where the ball was going down the sideline, and he just missed him a little bit. That was a nice play. Justin: Yeah, it was a nice play. Sure. Jake: We could talk about the, I mean we didn't talk about the Gaze play calling. I do think that like, yes, it looked better. But I still think the quarterback makes that look better. Yeah. Like I don't still, I still didn't look at it and like, yes, there were a couple calls. that I thought, oh, that was a good call. That was a good call. Still not seeing like just genius, still not seeing anything that I'm like amazed at. And I still don't see what I think would be a better package, which they do a couple times, but is that double, you know, running back package. Yeah, it never seems to work though. Well, it's worked a couple times. didn't really work in this game. I just don't see them setting it was much more movement in this Justin: online. A lot more movement. There was Sam. There were a couple of nice like wide receiver screens that actually worked. Yep. And I think that's because Sam decides to throw them or not. Yeah. I think at that moment when they call that wide receiver screen, he's like, I'm throwing that or I'm handing it to Labion. at this moment. Because they've got it covered or they don't. Right? It was also a very telling thing when you look at the stats that Lebion Bell did not have very many targets and in previous games they were throwing them a ball like 10 times. Yeah. And that is truly Sam just having his eyes down the field and seeing open receivers. as opposed to being like, ah, fuck, I gotta get rid of this wall. I'm gonna get sacked. So that's a good thing to see. Jake: We gotta move on. We gotta make some kicks. You did great. Let's go to the... Justin: I just wanted to mention one quick... Three very, very quick things around the league. Okay. Very cool play at the end of the Carolina Tampa game. At halftime, sorry, at the end of half. So they played in London, so they were on at 9.30 in the morning in the East. At halftime... Something I'd never seen before. Tampa punted to Carolina. Carolina fair caught it with no time left on the clock in halftime. Apparently if you fair catch a punt or a. A kickoff or whatever at the with no time remaining you can run one free play and it's a kick. It's a field all attempt.
51:08 Justin: Yeah. So that's all you can do. And they did it. They fair caught with no time left. But it was at like the 50. So it was like a 60 yard field goal or something. And the guy missed it. But it was still like a totally legit field goal attempt with zero time. It was kind of weird. It's like, oh, okay. Make sure you kick that out of bounds next time. Unlike against us where they fricking. 62 yard fill hole, asshole. Lots of trades, the Rams are doing their thing. Goodbye Jalen Ramsey from the Jaguars. Jake: I said this in our own personal thing. I would make this trade for anybody on our team but Sam. But Sam. I don't even. Even Adams. Two first rounders and a fourth? You can have Quindon Williams if you want him. All yours. No, anybody on our team but Sam. I would. Right? anybody but Sam. Justin: You're making that trade with Rams? I don't know about Jamal either. It's not like a five. It's not like a two. It's not like a top. Jake: You had your picks double picks in both for two years. You're going to walk away with two years. Justin: Alright, I would make that pick. Let's get through this. Oh, we can talk about this when we talk about the game a, yeah? Alright, let's go. Yeah, okay. Jake: Alright, we have another feature, All right, how we do you did well last week good job. You got the best ten to pick them. Oh, no Come yeah, you're still you're you're in the middle of your in the middle pack I've been surpassed by a couple some new New York sock exchanges now 49 and I'm at 47 you're down at 42 Justin: You're already kind of like up to you. I'm only five behind you now. It's like 12 two weeks ago. Yes. Oh my god Jake: I'm so catching you you're so not happy. All right, let's make some things do this thing. There's a night Thursday night Justin: Well, Kansas City is going to Denver. Can't decide if I like this game. Is this a good game? I think it is. Jake: Why? Denver's not very good. Justin: Yeah, but Kansas City is lost two in a row, so it's kind of a good game. Jake: They have to win? It's like a happy win game? Justin: I think it is kind of a half to win if you're Kansas City, not necessarily like for the division per se, but more for like the conference. Because if you lose three games, like... you might not even get a buy there i got kansas city as well they're favored by three on the road all right uh sunday we have one two three four o'clock games so lots of buys uh yeah three four o'clock all right we got the rams going to atlanta and the rams are favored by three they haven't looked good lately and one o'clock game for the Rams ain't Atlanta, I'm gonna take Atlanta. Jake: Nah, I'll take Rams. I think this little, uh, Jelen Ramsey thing will be a little spark though I'll be excited. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, sure. Justin: Um, alright, Jacksonville at Cincinnati, Jacksonville favored by three and a half, and I'm gonna gotta pick Jacksonville. Cincinnati's really bad. Jake: Cincinnati could be the worst team if it weren't for the Dolphins. Alright, so you got Jacksonville too? Justin: Yep. Okay, Minnesota at Detroit. Detroit got screwed on Monday night and because of that I'm picking them.
54:03 Jake: They are also home and getting a point. I don't like them going off a bad loss on Monday, short week. Minnesota is looking good. I'm gonna pick Minnesota. It's all point. They got screwed though. Yeah, so what? Justin: Speaking of, Green Bay is hosting Oakland and is favored by Six and because Green Bay just got lucky lucky lucky Jake: I'm gonna pick Oakland. Yeah, I think six is too much Oakland's come off a bye, right? They had a bye last week. They had a bye because they were in London the week before. Yeah, I think I think that's too much I think Green Bay will win, but not by Six. All right back to recover Justin: Indianapolis is hosting Houston in a division rival game Indy only favored by one at home. I know Jake: Houston is kind of on fire with their offense. But I don't think their defense is very good. I like Indy Nah, Houston all the way. This is divisional. I don't think Indy has any home tail advantage They too were on a buy by something Houston's rolling at this point Justin: The Giants are hosting Arizona Jake: How is this and it's at 1 o'clock because and Justin: The Giants are favored by three and you've got the first two quarterbacks picked in this year's draft facing off . Kylo Murray vs. Danny Dimes. God who do I believe in this? I'll take Kylo Murray my man is Just a little too explosive for that Giants D. So I'll take Arizona. Yeah, I kind of agree Jake: I if it was just offense on offense, I'd take the Giants but their defense both of these defenses sucked Justin: You might see like a 30 30 like a in 30 somewhere in this game. All right last one o'clock Jake: Yeah, I think that's a For some reason they're sneaky good. Alright four o'clock here we come Justin: Tennessee is hosting the Chargers Tennessee's favored by two. I like the Chargers I Jake: Like Tennessee at home, I don't like the Chargers. I like the Chargers on the road I don't like that the Chargers are losing badly nowadays. Didn't I just lose on like Sunday night? They're not- They're not doing well. I'll take the Tennessee at home. I like the Chargers. Although Tennessee, I think they benched the... they benched the... they benched the... they benched the... they benched the... Did they put in Tannehill? I don't know. Ugh. Great. Ugh. Good for them. Let's sign for him. Just kidding. So who's their third string? Somebody better than ours. Our fourth string. Probably not. Our fourth string is now our second string. thing. Justin: Speaking of a team that may need a quarterback, Chicago is hosting New Orleans. Chicago's favored by three at home and I like New Orleans. Yeah, New Orleans defense is so much better than people
57:04 Justin: realize. Is Trebisci back? No. Jake: Doesn't matter. He sucks. I don't think he sucks. I think he actually sucks. I think he's like a sophomore year slum type of thing He's in his third year and Drew would be bad. Drew isn't playing Again, they've won every game without him. Mmm. I'll take Noah. Noah keep it close Justin: Seattle's have some more and Seattle's favored by half a point too much for me their favorite by three and a half So I'm gonna take Baltimore. Jake: I like Seattle on the road. I mean, I at home against anybody. Baltimore's an up and down team. They had an up game last week. They're gonna have a down team there. They're gonna have a game this week. They're a tricky team to stop because you don't know what's coming at you. But I feel like they're playing the team that's kind of their mirror. Like they're playing the mirror team. It's like... I don't know about that. Well, maybe from three years ago. And Russell's run around a lot. Justin: Yeah, I mean, Russell Wilson might be the best quarterback in the league right now. He is very good. Right? I mean, he might just be. All right, Sunday night game, we got Dallas against Philly. Dallas home Dallas Jake: They're not sliding. They're not going for it. Oh, they're not losing for in a row and they're not losing at home They're not losing on Sunday night. All these no way are so Untrue I'm picking Philly. Listen, we could kind of maybe hang with Philly for a second or two and we were terrible There's no way no way now Dallas. Oh, that's old clean up with Philly. All right. And then we'll clean up the Monday night while we go through the AFC East. Justin: Let's go. All right. So, now we got two games. We only have two games, right. We got Miami at Buffalo and Buffalo is favored by fucking 17 points. Jake: The Bills of Buffalo are favored by 7-0. point. That has nothing to do with Buffalo, it has everything to do with Miami. Who's doing Buffalo being like 4 and 1 right? I mean Miami is looking like worse and worse an organization. They bench, so they put in Rosen because they're like let's see what this kid can do. Well they traded for Rosen. Then they bench him, yeah for a second, whatever. Then they bench him. Wait, and they never end the end of last game. Yeah, they did well. They traded for him in the offseason He did not win the starting job out of camp. We don't know that well Justin: He didn't okay. Did he start game one? No, so he didn't win the starting job, right? Like what's wrong with you in quarterbacks? That's how it all works. He was there in training camp. That's not how it works Jake: Sometimes sometimes they don't give it to you for other reasons because they don't think you're experienced In training wasn't training from day one from day one. You would think he would have had a chance to win the job Justin: We've seen what fits does fits keeps young quarterbacks from progressing see so Anyway, what happened during this game excited and watch it? Jake: Oh, I didn't watch it either But the I didn't watch any of the games because I was at the one game and when you go to the early game We go the late game you're at there for the early games and then you get home and it's like
1:00:03 Jake: Eight o'clock at night and I had done some exercise that day. So I was a little tired So they benched him during the game, like for performance reasons. Oh, so he was just bad against Washington. Yeah, so they put in Fitz and Fitz almost came back and won the game, which is of course now they're playing for this first round pick and they're playing with the other team that's probably going to get the first pick. Right, so you don't want to win that game. Fitz almost pulled a Fitz. Justin: Fitz is the ultimate Fitz. He almost fits himself. Because what he'll do is he'll come into that game. and he'll win it and then he'll really fuck you over because he'll fuck you over with the draft pick He'll fuck you over cuz he won the game and the other guy lost it So now it's like well shouldn't fit just start like he totally ruins plans Jake: You shouldn't have fits on so now Rosen is back to starting great so Justin: We got lucky that the Giants picked Saquon, right? Cause we would have picked Rosen had they picked Arnold. Jake: No, we would have picked, oh, if they picked Arnold, we would have picked Rosen. We're pretty sure that Rosen was the guy, right? Justin: We thought he was our third on our list. Like in our world, he was the third. It might have been Baker though, because I wouldn't have got Baker. Baker's gone. He went first, and that looks like more of a mistake every day. It's still a little early. But man, is he not playing well. No, he is regressing. Jake: He is on his sophomore job. He has the most interceptions since the start of last year. Yes, he does. That's bad. He's a little bit of a gunslinger. And not in a good way. Not in a good way. Anyway, I have Buffalo winning this game, um, 24-9. Buffalo wins, 29-12. Push? Yes, that's a push. That's a 17-put push. I got Miami, like, back door. But I think the defense will probably win, probably. Buffalo's defense might score twice. Well, like the New England's defense is almost every game, speaking of which, we have six games of the millennium! Justin: Oh, this is painful. This is great. So, we have New England coming into town for the Monday night. Gotta love it. I love it. Jake: Hope we're not I hope we're in our greens like the Gotham green on Monday night Justin: That's what I'm hoping for we're gonna be in our all blacks Jake: No, cuz I know I feel like they're tainted we went all blacks going all black again You got to admit again, you gotta admit. That's what you do. All right. I don't think we will I think they'll go Gotham green saying it. I think that they're going Justin: All black and you know what really grinds my gears Jake? What? Yeah Jake: You have fucking five minutes. You're gonna use it Justin: This is the second time that the Jets have had to play a team that played the previous Thursday This is bullshit, why are we playing teams that basically get mini buys? Oh like Philly played The previous Thursday so they had 10 days to get ready for us New England played the previous Thursday and now we're playing on Monday
1:03:02 Justin: Night, they basically a full bye week Like what is this shit? He's annoying anyway We kind of like didn't hang in there with we like played all right in the second half of the last game But that was the first Um, Falk game. So that was a really fucked up game. It was fucked and we had no chance. And I thought that our defense started to figure the Patriots out. And since then Gordon is no longer healthy for the Patriots. And so that's down another weapon that they can throw the ball to their, and they're six and no, and they don't. often like Roll like this like they've only had like you'd think maybe more times They've had like 15 win seasons for thing. No, they like maybe twice three times. Yeah, the one year 16 You know sure they had another year. I can remember like 14 and 2 but generally they're in the like 12 13 win range So they do lose three games They've got to lose a game. Why not this one? Jesus why not we got a real quarterback out there. We we we we we got a defense out there Jake: We're gonna get mostly back. I know what it take Well, first of all if this was just the normal Patriots where it's average which usually have the average, an above average offense and a mediocre to okay defense. But I've watched this defense. I watched them play against Bills. I watched them play against us. I watched them play against the Giants. Like, this is a good defense. They're just a- Justin: Let's see what our quarterback can do. Jake: This is gonna be rough. This is the, you know, we know how to, we know what the thing is, but it's just not, we have to play them like the Bills played them. Like, we can play them like the Bills, just keep them off, and we have to have a couple things go our way. But that defense has to play at a different level. It has to play at a different level. Justin: They have to have, again, in the last game they didn't have Quinn and Williams. So maybe we can get a rush up the middle. He needs some power up the middle. He's not that Prescott. He's not gonna move. Guys aren't gonna bounce off him. Like he's actually just gonna sit down. Jake: Like he doesn't take hits. He'll take the sack. And he's vulnerable. I mean, the Bills got to him. No, the Giants got to him twice. They got a strip sack off of him. They also got an interception off him. He's not playing at the level he's played before. Justin: It's just a matter of the timing being right. And also there's like, Edelman and James White scare me in this game. Those are the keys. The quick shit that turns from like a two-yard pass to a ten-yard pass on like third and eight is the killer shit with the Patriots Jake: There's a lot of killer shit. They're not like scares me Gilmore scares me Gilmore is gonna be on Robbie the whole damn game Gilmore scares me their defense scares me And honestly, Tremaine Johnson scares me. Tremaine Johnson's the scariest part of the game.
1:06:00 Jake: Tom Brady was the smartest and best quarterback to ever play. I'm watching him going, oh, you're going to stand 10 feet off? You're 10 yards off? You're fucking terrible. I'm going to take eight yards. Basically. I'm going to take eight yards every time. And guess how many times you need to take eight yards to make a first down? You need to take it twice. So like, that's what I'm scared about. Sure, we can win this game. It's got to be a perfect game. It would be... you It would be one of the greatest things I've ever seen since we went up there and beat them and if we could win this game with Sam, Sam the Savior, on a Monday night game, the sort of coming out party for this kid. If we're going to win it, it's going to be high scoring, I think. I don't know. I think you just have to hang with the Patriots to beat them. They're going to score 34. Their defense might score. twice so you have to keep scoring let's say Jets win 31-29 I didn't give a Justin: score but I was I was winning 20 26 23 and even if we lose yeah at one in five Jake: I don't think the season's over oh please I'm not on the there's not a season over if we win this game I looked at the rest of schedule we are playing dolphins twice We're playing the Redskins, we're playing the Giants, we're playing Cincinnati, and Cincy. We're playing a lot of bad teams. That could be five games right there. Then we got the Steelers and the Steelers aren't good. Well, they're still winning though. They're not winning. But they're not good. And then we play the Bills. Steelers aren't good. Anyway, come on. We gotta go. Did the Steelers really, did they really win? It's Justin. Did they really win with that third stringer? Yeah, they did on Monday night. They beat the Chargers. Yeah, who you just this guy to Devin Hodges. Yes. Oh, they were able to run I see what they did. Yeah. All right. I we gotta go Justin. It's Jake It's saying Let's go Jets
