09 Justin: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Get away from me! Jake: Get away from me! Welcome to the Jet Kingdom podcast. the longest running and not around ever doing a podcast for like a month and a half. Near Just Podcasts on the interweb! My name is Jake and joining me, looking a little bit Braille and Edward-esque, is Justin. Justin, how you doing? Justin: I got the beard going. Jake: Hey Justin, you know what we used to do? Justin: podcast Well, we're supposed to podcast like every time Tim Tebow gets on the field Every time Tim Tebow takes the shirt off and runs around for the ladies We supposed to podcast every day Just camp they haven't even played a game yet You know the Sports Center was at the Jets camp the entire first week yes and what kind of bullshit is that they were there there were more camera yeah we had our own hard knocks we had Stephen a Smith what a jerk off all these people I can't wait I can't wait to win the Super Bowl this year all right shut everyone up oh my god I cannot wait there's no jinx we can't be jinxed We have God. Jake: We have God or God's son. Alright, let's talk about a little agenda. First of all, sorry. We've been gone way too long. There has been news. Not a lot, but there's been news. Justin: There's been just regular training camp news. Jake: No, we have lots to talk about. We have Ken to talk about. We should have had a pre-game... Justin: We should have had a pre-ken. Jake: Right. We have training camp to talk about. We have preseason starting to talk about. And we have to, before the end of this podcast, kick off the Jet Kingdom Fantasy League. Justin: Meaning we're gonna come up with the rules on the fly. No, we have the rules! But we don't know how people are getting in. We need four people. We need six more. We have four people? Let's just talk about it right now. All right, let's do it. We have yourself, myself. Yes. Who's the other two? Jake: The two, the one guy who made Steve. You don't even know their names. I don't. Who cares? I'm gonna beat their asses in this game. Okay. So, Steve and Matt, right? And Matt. So we have four. Okay. And we have a couple others at one end, but we're gonna make a little thing. Justin: What are we gonna make them do? Jake: So there's six. We'll do the draft. Justin: How much money do they have to send me? Jake: We'll do the draft. I say we do the draft August, Sunday before August 26th. That's when we should do the draft. Justin: You're gonna make me look at my calendar? Jake: Yeah, there's a Jets game that night. We'll do the draft before the Jets game. Justin: August 26th. Jake: Jets game?
01 Justin: I have a fantasy draft that night. Jake: Well, you're not going to the Jets game then. That's bummer. Anywho, uh... Justin: And I have one I feel like... the night before. Jake: Yeah, we could do it before that one. I feel like we should do it before... Five to seven on the 25th? Justin: No. Let's do it on the 26th. Let's do it on the 26th during the jet game. I have a draft at 5pm on the 26th. Jake: I know, but it's a home game. Justin: So what? Jake: I was going to go. Really? Yeah, I can't go to any of the other games. You want to do it during the jet game? It's a preseason game. Justin: Can't do it during a game. Yeah during at home. Sit there and watch it. Jake: But then no one else can, if someone's gonna go, they can't be in the draft. Justin: Oh, well then why don't we do it that day just earlier in the day? All right, we're doing either the 25th or 26th. Let's do it the 26th in the morning or in the like at noon. New, noon on the 25th. High noon. Jake: Okay, done. Justin: That means if you're on the east on the west coast you're up at nine. Sorry. Okay, we have six spots left Jake: I'm putting this on my calendar right now. There you go six spots left. We're doing the draft It'll be what I'll take about two hours. We're doing ESPN Regular thing and here's what you need to get into the to the jet Kingdom podcast fantasy league 2012. 10 teams. We are doing standard ESPN thing. You have to have an active jets member on your roster. Right. We've established that. To get in. You have to send us an email to podcast. at JetKingdom.com? Where? Justin: podcast at JetKing, dot com. Yes. Not podcasts. Either one works. Let's just give them one. It's so much easier. It works. podcast at JetKingdom.com. Yes. the the- Jake: Why you should be in right you tell us how long you've been a Right. And you tell us your favorite jet player of all time. Justin: Oh, but how about that one question I wanted to ask. Alright, then that question. Which one of us that they like better. Jake: Okay, so you gave us four things. Why you should be in the fleet? Your how long you've been a listener? Your favorite jet player of all time? And why Jake is the better podcaster of all of us. Why is the podcaster versus the broadcaster? Oh, I like it Justin: I just that just happened. Boom. Well, I mean my team name is the broadcasters. So Settle Jake: All right, so that's it send it so to podcast at checking calm send us that information, it's free, there will be some sort of prize and bragging rights, and every week we will cover who's doing better. And so that's what we're doing this year, instead of just talking sort of general fantasy We're going to talk about this league. We're going to talk about this league, and since this league is about... And it's totally standard rules. Well, and since this league is about having a jet player in your...
00 Justin: Right, you can talk about how a jet player won or lost. a week for somebody. That's correct. And you kind of have to pay attention to now some of these little training camp battles that are happening like who's going to be the second running back. So online Jake: snake draft. Yeah, online snake draft. Online snake draft. Who's going to be the second running back? Maybe Justin: that, maybe Blaupau might be worth having on your team in this league. Let's move on. Jake: Everybody got this saying we keep repeating it and when will we tell people well starting next episode? We'll pick another person Justin: Unless we yeah unless we get like 30 emails then it's like alright. We'll have everybody Jake: I'll just have it all set two people a week for the next couple weeks, okay, all right two people weeks next week six people three weeks Sure, I'm doing the math. I'm trying to make this happen. Yeah, all right fine. I go all right What's up with Canton? Justin: You want to talk about Canton? I win. What are you doing Canton? Oh, nothing. Canton sucks. Why do you go to Canton? How long does it take to drive to Canton from New York? That's it? Yep. I kind of thought it was 14 in my head. Eight and a half. That's not bad. Jake: Eight if you didn't stop. Justin: Eight and a half is really not that bad. Jake: So I drove out. with my wife and my kid, my seven year old daughter, and we had a great time, the ceremony was great. Here's the fun part, I'll give you the, because we will not talk about it. First of all, if you haven't watched Curtis Martin's speech, you should go watch it, and I'm sure, I'm looking at you because you haven't watched it. That just, you suck as a Jet fan, by the way. That you haven't watched it. Justin: I haven't had a free moment. in my life to do whatever don't even fucking start whatever don't start yeah did you watch wait Jake: sorry did you watch hard knocks no okay well then all right i was gonna bing you for watching i haven't had a moment to do anything okay um first of all incredible speech after many i'm gonna watch hard knocks tonight Yes, I'm excited Fuck I'm watching football Incredible But the best part of it was here's the best part of it We went into some of the you get in some of the back games and back like not we went to the Hall of Fame walking around The best part of it was, and it's sort of one experience, but it happened all over the place, was that the players, present and past, are just everywhere. Justin: In their yellow jackets? Jake: No, no, just hanging out. Oh, right. So like, here's my first experience. I was in the Hall of Fame and I was walking around and I see this, this guy. And I'm like... Justin: That's a big dude. Jake: And I just, you know, and I just recognize his face. And I'm like, I recognize your face. And I... I figured out for like two seconds I'm thinking who is this? Who is this? He cooked my head and he looked at me and he understood that I knew who he was and so he kind of pulled his hand out of his pocket to shake my hand and I went and I shook his hand and I'm like you do it. And it was my tenon bomb. He was just standing there in the head of the hand. And I was hanging out. Then I've been hanging out in the food whatever area. i-
00 Jake: and you just see these big guys and you're like, I wonder who these big guys are? And you look down the wrist and there's like just rings. And so you're like, this is like a Super Bowl ring play. I don't know who they are, because I can't recognize them. But then all of a sudden, Vinny doesn't really walk right by. Justin: And I'm like, without his ring. Jake: No, without his ring. He just walks by. Then all of a sudden, I'm walking down and I pass. And there's Dick Vermeo hanging out on the corner. Then there's. . . . . Eric ManGenius walks by, Joe Namath is there obviously, Parcel is there. Justin: How's the ManGenius look? He looks thin. Are you worried about the fact that Rex Ryan slimmed down so much? When the ManGenius was at the peak of his powers he was a slob. Are you worried? You think there's a correlation between like fatness and geniusness? No. Okay. That was a little rat hole for you. Anyway, it was phenomenal. A couple Jake: tips for people who are going to go in the future. A couple of tips? Yeah. First of all, you're not going for a long, long time if you're a Jets fan because there's nothing to go or it because it ... because are still playing for the Jets right now, might not play for the Jets their entire career, although I think probably both of them will. Justin: You see two of these potential? Jake: Yeah, Mangold and Revas. I think of the two players that have a chance to be a Hall of Fame, getting the Hall of Fame next few years. Justin: I don't think Mangold does, but I'll throw Revas in the hunt. Jake: He's been pro and all pro. If he sticks to the same team for 10, 11 years, you can see him getting him. He's one of the best centers on the planet. Alright. Yeah. And then Revas. Revas, if he plays at the level that he's playing at for another five years and does amazing stuff, like really has seasons that are just outstanding and his career looks good and wouldn't hurt if he won a ring or two. I can see Curtis get I mean Revas getting in but again, it would be another five years plus then five years. How was the actual Hall of Fame? Justin: It was nice. It's about an hour's worth of stuff. I mean, is it just like so there's obviously like the busts, you know So those are those are one thing and then is there like another part That's just like the museum like the history of the game that you can walk through Jake: So I'm standing in the bus room, right? And I'm walking around with my daughter and I'm like showing her a name it and I'm showing her, you know Like some players like look that's you know, and then we even saw I took a shot and I'll put it up on Facebook something took a shot of like the empty Curtis Martin one because it was ready, but I saw that one But the best part was in the center of the room because a circular room was
02 Jake: Great experience. Canton has very little to offer in terms of anything. So my, my, if you were gonna go for anybody else I'd say go like Saturday morning. Like you can just get there. Why on Saturday morning? Do everything you want at night. Wait stay there. You can you can do the whole thing for like from four o'clock in the afternoon on to the thing which goes to like 11. Stay there that night and then if you want to go to the game the next day fine. Don't like don't make it into anything bigger than it is. It's literally a day trip. That's it. They also don't serve alcohol in the stadium, boo hiss. And they don't allow you to have drinks or food if you're sitting on the main, like on, and I was in good seats like right on the main, you know, on the field. You can't have food or drink. So you sit there for three and a half hours with no food or drink. Justin: The kid can't even have a little juice box or something. Jake: I snuck in a slushie by sticking in my cargo shorts. Justin: Yes I did. You liked that. Jake: Yeah I did. Anyway, great experience. Curtis is awesome and I'm just, it was incredible to sit there watching a guy who I watched play like literally, and I can honestly say one of my favorite jets, gotta be my favorite jet like of all the jets I think of like and he just represents football and the team in the best light possible so uh i'm absolutely ecstatic that he's in the... yeah he's pretty classy he's pretty classy dude they're doing they're doing huge things throughout the year they're retiring his number in the stadium so that's gonna be a lot of fun oh they're retiring his number Justin: he's already in the ring of fame but this is different this is number 28 will never be worn Jake: again that's awesome yeah it's gonna be awesome this year is gonna be awesome and i hope and i'm hoping as a jet fan. that this, this having Curtis Martin, one of the best jets to ever play the game, now in the Hall of Fame, his attitude will sort of set this team on a great path of this year. That's my kind of like hope. Me too. Justin: All right. Now, sorry about the questions. Well, how is just the rest of the, yeah, well the Hall of Fame, yes, thank you. uh over here uh mr mr t-boaster um how how was the actual oh please put it back on how was the actual hall of fame like the history of the game like you do you get a sense of it at all as you're walking through like at all Is there any jet stuff in there moments? Yes. Yes. Yes, it's not that good. It's not that good Jake: I mean I've been to it's funny because you just went didn't you? Justin: Well, this is why I just I just went to Cooperstown And went to the Baseball Hall of Fame and it's amazing. It's an amazing museum. It's an amazing town It's all about baseball. The whole town is like a throwback to to baseball and it's just a great place, great atmosphere, and the museum itself is just outstanding. You really get a sense of the feeling of baseball and what it meant, and you know, it's hundreds, hundreds years of history, and like, rooms, and as a Yankee fan, it's like a big thing, because like...
04 Justin: You walk through like the errors of baseball and they're just littered with Yankee shit everywhere So it's just a really I'd imagine as a jet fan It's probably better to go to the Hall of Fame as like a Steelers fan or a Cowboys fan Jake: There's something well done. It's I mean again I was there as the duck for them putting in Curtis's a lot of jet stuff out Right. I put up a lot of just up around Justin: It isn't a lot. It's not a huge thing. Again, the bus are the corner of the big thing. Jake: Oh, see that's like the least thing at the Baseball Hall of Fame. It's like sort of like I've seen those before too. My daughter goes, doesn't mommy have those at her office? I was like, oh my god, I can't believe she just said that. So, but it was, it's really nice. And I think, I guess I, first of all, I'm a little spoiled because I have been to a place in New York City that is almost a better football experience. Oh it is. I've been there too. It's pretty awesome. Oh wow. Anyway, it's good. Again, it's not... You don't feel like you just walked into the world of football. I feel like I've been to... We've been on tours on that Giants thing. I feel like I've been to other places that... So I'm going to represent it even better. Then that it was good. It just wasn't it didn't set a new order. I've been to the NHL NHL Hall of Fame have you? . Yeah, and it was and it was good Justin: I was trying to think to myself when I was at Cooperstown I was like what all the fame's about I've been to the basketball one in Springfield. Yeah, kind of crappy It's really not very good and I've been to the boxing Hall of Fame Wow in upstate, New York But yeah, the baseball like set up a new bar for me. All right, let's get some jet shit. Yeah, let's get some jet shit. So Crow's going to play some offense, huh? Yeah, so you know, I don't I don't even think that he's really that far off base with his statement. Jake: So for those of you who are living in a rock with us, not doing podcasts for the last four weeks. Antonio Camardi, the number two cornerback on the New York Jets. Justin: Number two corner and number two receiver. Jake: When he was asked in a question, would you be the best, you know, where do you stack? Because they're putting in a package for him where he's actually going to catch the ball. They had a package last year. He was on the field. I remember... Justin: I remember him. Yeah, he took a hand off. Jake: Yeah, but he's never caught the ball. They're now going to put in a package, clearly out of desperation, that they need to have a crow package. And he's a physical specimen, and he's tall, and he's lanky, and I can see him being a wide receiver.
00 Jake: So then he basically said, well, I'm the second best. And you know what? You know, originally like really the second best wide receiver on the team Like that's just sort of you know insane How can you say that but then when you actually stack him up against the wide receivers we have our ride our wide receiving core is Justin: It's pretty bad It has potential. No, it's a fixer up. Here's the problem. Yeah, our number one's not a number one Cause Holmes isn't. He just isn't. I think he is the number one. I don't. I don't think he's the number one. He's a 1A or he's a really nice 2. What he needs is someone next to him who actually commands a little bit of respect. Jake: Who commands the number one corner. Justin: Yeah and that doesn't happen. So like you know you can cover Holmes. Like if the Jets were to play the Jets, right? If the Jets deep, I mean they're doing this in practice and we'll talk about this in a minute And how I think it's a little unfair But you know if the Jets were to play the Jets, yeah, and you'd say okay, so Reavis is gonna guard homes Okay, he needs no help none I'd be like, he needed to be by himself, no help at all. And guess what? Cromartie could cover whomever else is on the other side by himself. Shit! We're gonna throw eight in the box. They're not gonna run the ball on us. And we're gonna blitz the shit out of them. That's about it. Jake: So like... Justin: I mean, fine, but you need something on the outside. Shillings. I don't know. I have high hopes for Curly. He's just not healthy and the coaching staff isn't very happy with him not being healthy And they feel like he needs to step it up. I have high hopes for him. No, we cut the other one Whatever that's that's a we we signed him every summer for Sanchez Jake: We're missing the one guy who could be this guy Steven Hill like I just can't I don't count on a rookie to really he's anything It doesn't happen a lot and statistically it doesn't happen very often that the rookie wide receiver makes a big difference But that being said we can still hope for it Right. I mean, I'm I'm hoping for it. I think Stephen Hill has the ability to Has the ability to come in and make a big statement, yes? Justin: Maybe. I don't really have... I don't hold out high hopes for rookie wide receivers coming in that... Particularly ones that aren't polished. Like he's not a guy who's coming out of a style offense. Top five pick he's not AJ green right he's not Julio Jones. He's coming out of a triple option college offense right which is like Just run and then run and then do some more running and catch the ball and block Yeah, but he only had like 20 something catches great
03 Justin: And that's like nothing Jake: Look, does he have the physical skills make a prediction for Stephen Hill healthy? I'm gonna do some parameters. Okay healthy for the entire season. Yeah Plays every game doesn't get bench for being a doof. Yep Prediction prediction for why stats prediction predicted stats touchdowns yards Justin: Give me 30 catches for 500 yards and three touchdowns Jake: Okay, I'd go a little bit higher than that. I think he's up more on six touchdowns Seven hundred six hundred yards and Throw the catches up there. Forty five catches. Okay. Yeah, I feel like he's more than three. I would take the over You're gonna be me back in a better. Yeah, touch downs. Yeah Justin: Well, the touchdowns are sort of irrelevant like do you think Quaxco Burris had a good season last year? He had seven touchdowns. He had like eight touchdowns, but he had a bad season like that wasn't a good Jake: That wasn't a good see couldn't open. That'll be a good but not one game Justin: You had three and that's what I mean. It's like he didn't have a good year touchdowns for receivers or in some cases a little bit of a toss-up. Like I feel like for me I want Stephen Hill, to me a really good season for him would be like 50 catches and move the chains and curly like 50 catches and move the chains and homes to have like 70, 80 catches. Jake: But that's on a passing deep pass. Justin: No, it's not. Jake: No it's not, that's a normal team! One of those T-Bowl catches, 30 catches. Justin: Fine, someone catch the ball. But I don't think Crow is that far off. Really, Holmes is out, Curly's out for this game tomorrow. So our starting wide receivers are gonna be Turner and Hill? Wait, Turner the burner? like Turner and Hill and shillings that's our that's that's scaring that's scaring you off I mean that's why the defense is like again this is a little unfair like I feel like our defense is it's gonna be the best in the league Jake: this year. Because we're gonna be on the field all the fucking time. No I feel like they're gonna be really good. Justin: I really really really feel like this defense this year is gonna be the number one defense. Jake: It's been top 5 for the last three years. Justin: And they're gonna be number one this year. Number one. Jake: Number one two years ago. Justin: Two, three. Whatever. I feel like they're gonna be number one this year. Okay. And like, you know, I read all these things about uh... about, you know, the... The, you know, the offense not looking great in practices and it's like, well, of course they're not. They're playing against the fucking best defense in the league. Like how... Sanchez goes 5 of 11. Well, he's thrown against Rebus and it's like he has to throw against Rebus. Like there's no choice. Like no, that's where you throw the ball. You gotta throw the ball over there. It's like, well fuck, Reavis is over there, I wanna throw the ball over there.
00 Jake: Well isn't- isn't that the point- isn't that the point of training campus to like, train against the best? So shouldn't that make him really- Justin: Yeah, it should make him better, but it's like, you know, you read these things like, oh, the quarterbacks had a bad day again, both of them couldn't, and it's like, they got sacked four times, well of course they did, they're blitzing the fuck out of him, cause he's got Chad Shillings on the outside. Jake: Let's do a couple things. Let's talk about, let's do two things to finish up this podcast. Justin: Yeah, let's finish this up already. Jake: Giving you a couple of things to talk about. Justin: Give me two things. Jake: Two things. One, you're going to talk about your overall feelings from what's your overall perception? You've been reading the news. I have. I've been up on it. Yeah. You give me your overall perception of what's going on with the training camp. Okay. And two, I want to hear what you want to see tomorrow night. I'm not gonna see the game. Well, okay I will see the game but what you want to see when you get home and you watch the T-vote version of the game Yeah, and then I have a little side thing. I'm gonna talk about all right What you want to see and what you're really looking forward to that game. Yeah back next week. All right Justin: So my impressions thus far. Yes, I feel like they're having a really good camp I feel like the defense is far and away ahead of the offense. That's What I gather right and that's to be totally you know It's such an obvious thing right of course they are they're returning a lot of starters They're in the same system for now the fourth year Rex is getting more involved. They drafted defense You know they drafted first round right defense number of years in a row And I just feel like you know I've been reading tons of great things about Aram a been And all you read about is how intense he is and how he's bringing it and how they're moving them all over the place and The offense can't stop like he's sacking. He's getting sacked every every practice. It's gonna be great They're like talking about putting them into different packages like having them be on the field more, which is great It's like alright, we got this just a pass rushing weapon. The safeties are especially Bell and there was one of the rookies I think it was Bush maybe was supposedly having a really nice impact. So I feel like the defense is ahead of the offense that's to be expected it's a new system. With that said I think Sanchez is handling himself wonderfully obviously I'm both I think he's he's played Well, it seems like he's played well on the field totally out playing Tebow on the field which he's gonna do in practice every time And I feel like he's handling himself really well off the field with all the bullshit that that he has to deal with he really Has to deal with so much more than I'm a quarterback in the whole league. He has to deal with this crap and I think he's dealing with it really really well Yeah, he's stepping up as a leader. He's saying things. He's getting in people's faces on the sidelines and whatnot like He's saying the right things like after the fight like like all those types of things he's he
00 Justin: He got an arrow maven's face because he hit like a fourth string quarterback And he's not supposed to hit him and like he's stepping up for his guys like I feel like Feel like Mark Sanchez is gonna arrive this year and it's gonna be fun. I cannot wait one little story about Jake: Mark Sanchez. Yeah, go ahead as I drove back and forth to As I drove back and forth to Canton, Ohio for 500 hours Which wasn't 14. It's only eight. So I was a serious in a serious NFL radio A lot of Adam shine actually I actually listened in a whole Adam Shines show Shiner the Shiner Welcome to my serious NFL radio. I just I'm sitting there like- Justin: Wait, I didn't get it. Jake: The cowboy fan would prefer Sanchez is what you're saying. Justin: you under Rex Ryan. Jake: Oh, that's... If he sticks around for 30 years, he might. Justin: Oh, yeah. Jake: Alright, so now let's talk. But one thing, the one thing I haven't heard, so yeah, a lot of run-furs. Justin: Um, you didn't let me like do my second thing, which is what I'm waiting for tomorrow. What, I want a second thing. What, I want to see tonight or tomorrow night? Jake: Tomorrow. You're not gonna see it tomorrow, not because you're a pussy. Justin: I'm gonna fucking football. I'm gonna be in Montreal. Jake: Yeah, I don't give a shit. Anywho, I was going to say the thing about the training camp that I... It's weird I haven't heard a lot of news of, is the new offensive coach. I haven't heard a lot about him. Like I hear a lot about Rex, I hear a lot about the players, but I haven't heard about anybody talking about... And I guess maybe this is the stuff that only comes out in game plans or comes out in the games or was it well Orchestrated or not, but I haven't heard of anything that's sort of like That the stamp from Tony's Toronto, you know, like I haven't heard of like oh he has brought this new something Oh you haven't? Oh, I have pace pace pace is what just pace up tempo. It's very Justin: He wants them very fast. Jake: He knows what he's going to... He doesn't have to take any time to look at the playbook. He's just like, run. Run up the middle. Justin: No, he's... He's... They say he's pacing. He's getting them into their offense faster. And it's not slow, it's not deliberate. It's quick. and they like that, although it's caused some like, you know, consternation and confusion. But that's to be expected, it's a new thing. Consternation and confusion? Yeah, is that like, is that good?
00 Justin: That's fine. That's called broadcasting. Jake: I don't know, I'm just a podcaster. Not a broadcaster. Justin: I know, you're bullshit. So what am I looking for tomorrow? Jake: Yeah, what are you looking for tomorrow? Justin: I'm looking for the defense to pitch a shutout. Game one. Game one. Jake: So in four games we usually do first games a little bit, second games a little bit more, third games. Justin: Third games kind of like are close to a real game. I think they said they want the starters on offense to play at least the first quarter. of tomorrow's game. That's the first quarter. Yeah, like at least the first quarter. Huh, okay. The starters. Yeah. It's actually quite a bit. Usually the starters will play like A-series, but they want them to play the whole first quarter because they want them to, you know, new system. Right. I'm looking for the starting defense to pitch a shutout. I don't want the starting defense to give up any points to the starting offense of the Bengals I actually want them to make them look a little silly I want to see the Reavis AJ Green matchup because AJ Green's like a big up-and-coming You know superstar wide receiver with his second year rookie gun, you know Quarterback I want to see Reavis kind of just see what he's all about shutting down and I wouldn't mind seeing uh seeing what our actual offense is gonna actually look like like I wouldn't mind I know I'm not gonna see it because we don't have the receivers they're just gonna run the ball quite a bit and we're not gonna see any trickery we're not gonna see any chicaneery we're not gonna see any wildcat you're not gonna see t-bow in there Seven yards. Yeah, you're gonna see a lot of that. I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of like A wrinkle here there, but I don't think we're gonna see it I think it's gonna be very vanilla get the get the get the snap counts right get the protections, right? Don't get Sanchez killed block I What I'm and what I'm most interested in seeing beyond like the starters is What's gonna happen in this backfield? I'm really intrigued by the Blah Powell Joe McKnight matchup of who's gonna be the number two running back on this team because I mean We did draft Blah Powell in the fourth round Just like we drafted Joe McKnight in the fourth round just like we drafted Sean Green in the third round like these guys are not you know first round picks where it's like oh well here's the heir apparent and supposedly he's gonna show up supposedly pal's been looking great so i really am interested in seeing what he looks like his name sounds like a runner Jake: pow wow it sounds like pow pow i'm just saying i i all those things are good i'm really looking for the additions obviously like i you know the people who i know what they're going to do i'm not so interested i'm really interested the additions uh the two safeties like You know both the rookie safety and and Bell really want to see how about the wrong Landry? He's gonna play I feel like they should just put him in the closet until he's ready just put him in the cryogenic chamber Yeah, the running back situation, and then I'm I do I'm sorry, but I want to see I want to see a little tubo action
07 Justin: Yeah, I'm gonna see a tubo package see Tim Tebow running the offense as the second string quarterback. You're going to see him running the offense as the second string quarterback. Jake: That actually is even more interesting because I want to see him. Because now... Justin: But that's what he has to be. Remember, he can't be like... I know. Like, there is... you Jake: There's gonna be for him to go in there and what happens if he runs that second thing he plays for two quarters So probably the third one have one quarter at the end he plays for two quarters and plays awesome great worst scenario ever Justin: No, that's great fine. I'm rooting for him. I'm a jet fan He's a jet player, but I I don't think that that will Look, if Sanchez goes out there and he goes one for four for seven yards and then Tebow plays like a shit ton more And he goes, you know seven for ten for 87 yards in a touchdown. Is that gonna be like well Tebow better start Yeah, well the whole fucking world to say that not me Jake: One real quick thought before I drop us off in the end of the yeah, let's get to the end here So I am I to me traveling tomorrow, but I but I am a real football fan. So I'm not gonna not see my game I'm traveling up to Maine, so I'm in the heart of nothing land. Justin: You're going to Maine? I'm going to Maine. For what? Jake: For a wedding on Saturday. Justin: Oh. Jake: Yeah. So. Justin: How are you getting the game? Jake: Ah. So I have three plans. Plan A. Justin: So how can I get the game? Jake: Plan A. It's on TV. Justin: It is. It's on the NFL network. Jake: No, no, no. Plan A is on the TV in the hotel. That's my plan A. Justin: I think it's on NFL network. Jake: I don't care. I'm just saying, plan A. That's the. All right. That's plan A. Got it. Plan B. I bought the NFL Watch Live NFL season. You can watch every preseason live on your computer and on the iPad. Well then you got it right there. That's plan B and plan C is Arrow TV. That thing that I well we haven't talked about on this podcast. Yeah but that's not gonna help you is it? Justin: Oh, because your antennas in New York. Oh, so you got it covered you just need the internet really See I'm gonna be out see I'm going to Montreal and I'll be out right I'm going to Montreal for a bachelor party Jake: So I won't I won't be hey hey guys. I heard there's a really good strip club over no. It's like Justin: Really dude for game one of the preseason you're gonna have us go to a sports bar for- No, no, no, no. Jake: Why you can drink? Justin: No. I'll watch you when I get home I'd rather watch- I'd actually rather watch this not live. I could fast forward through bullshit. Jake: Ugh. You, you, you sir. Justin: Don't need look I don't need to watch this live. I'll be testing Jake: I'll be testing NFL pre I'll tweet it up whether it works the preseason is $19 pretty good. You watch every game Live on the iPad. I'm gonna test it tonight one quick question for you before we get off. Yes
03 Justin: So you watched hard knocks, yes, it is well most of it most of it how is how is Chad Johnson on hard? Jake: No, he's he's a fucking idiot asshole, but is he entertaining and amusing? He just looks like someone who wants to be on TV and not me. Yeah, what do you think of to on Seattle? Seattle now is to M Braille in that way. That's that's kind of crazy a lot of washed up players and rice. Yeah Justin: players I mean it it's a 90-man roster so like they might not make the Braille in Edwards probably will but I don't know if Tio will make that team. Who knows? Jake: I think if it's Tio or Braille, no. I think Tio makes it. Justin: Why? He didn't even play last year. Jake: Doesn't matter. I think he's a specimen and Braille in his. Braille in his. Justin: Supposedly he ran some crazy time in whatever. All right. Jake: Let's finish it up here. JackKenim.com. Go to the Twitter. Go to the place. Subscribe on iTunes. We'll see you next week.
