00:00 Jake: The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it. It's always going to be that way. Justin: Welcome to Jet King podcast. Jake: Longest running New York Jets podcast, sadly. I'm Jake joining me for the 176th time in a row. It's Justin Justin, how are you doing today? Do you think anyone's listening? There are people still listening. Yes, and not only that they were hitting us up with tons of questions on Facebook So we have to get those questions and questions Justin: Yeah, those are gonna be fun. Yeah, they're gonna be fun. Jake: Well, we'll see if we actually might get to them as we talk. No, I think we should get to the questions on Facebook. I enjoy that. I enjoy that when you guys do that. Justin: Thanks, buddies. You know, I wanna start with the Jack Kingdom Fantasy League. Can we just start there? Sure. All right. Jake: It's gonna go downhill from there for you. Let's just start. at the Jet Kingdom Fantasy League. So we have an agenda today. Apparently we're going to start with the Jet Kingdom Fantasy League. That's where I want to start. Then we'll talk about the Jets versus Titans. Now we have maybe the question of the day. OK. And we have news and then we'll do some pick them. We'll do some thrown picks and we'll get it all out of the way before people get going. Alright, sounds good. Alright, here we go. Let's get her done. So how are you doing in drinking fantasy? Oh, did you win? Awesome, guy! I've beaten you three weeks in a row. You dominate in all things fantasy. Justin: The finals are going to be the number two seated New York broadcasters. Yes. That will be me. Versus the number one seated, Southwest homers. Steven Peterson nice idea it was to do this. Yes. Well, he's in the finals. Yep I would have crushed his ass these last two weeks. So this worked but we played the last two weeks. I beat you 206 to 172. Mm-hmm I'm gonna really beat you the second week pretty badly. Uh, the other ad Boosted me. Yeah, Adrian Peterson boost me killed you and Jamal Charles didn't help you Jake: It was fun was watching because I know you're in another week that you do care about as well, but uh Actually care about what depends what you you know at the beginning of the day and we can tell the whole story Cuz it was a fun weekend At the beginning of the day, you really cared about one league and didn't care about the other and I said, Well, I wonder what point is you're gonna flip? And it was about the point when you started getting destroyed in one and were winning in the other. But you were up against Adrian Peterson in the other league. Right, and I have him in the Jack Tatum League. Justin: The one he didn't care about. Yeah, it sucks. And then the Southwest Homer, I mean, he won 151 to 137.
03:03 Justin: I mean, we both beat them. I had 206. So I had the high mark on the two weeks. You had 172, which is very respectable. So it looks like it's two weeks, me versus the Southwest homers for the championship. Do I, am I still playing? Am I getting so consolidated? Jake: Yeah, you're going to go into the constellation ladder, I would imagine. There you go. All right, so I'll still go in there. You'll go in there. You'll probably play Jets over the pond. Good all right now that that's settled. Yeah now that we settled the most important thing about the jacking now we can move on to Justin: The game in Nashville which we were at yeah following us on Twitter you saw pictures of us We had good seats. We're on like 30 yard line 1520 throw up on the lowered level right by the ESPN Booth yeah where they set up on the field. It's kind of fun before the game Trent Dilfer and Steve Young were tossing the ball back and forth. Steve Young was throwing it to San Antonio Holmes, who was catching it for Trent Dilfer. It was kind of booed on, kind of neat. Might be why we lost. I don't I didn't know he was actually attending games. Why would he? Why would he travel like maybe he's like from around there. Maybe like a Southern dude. He sounds like. Yeah. Jake: Well, I would say the full story is we went down on Sunday, we spent the entire Sunday watching football. All day at Hooters. All day at Sunday at Hooters. Eating wings. Drinking PBRs. No, I was drinking something else. But whatever. I officially decided I don't like PBR. It's official. It's official. I've been putting up with it, like some friends like it, but I'm like, no, now we're going to order something else. Like, it's not good enough to be a good beer. And it's not bad enough to be like... a light beer. Like a light beer is bad, it's a crappy beer. I don't care, I'm just drinking it because I'm drinking something. Like I'm not drinking it for the great taste. For the less calories. Yeah, so I feel like that's the thing. Less filling. Yeah. Great taste. Great taste, less filling. Yes, we did the whole thing. We had a great time, Nash Vegas as we call a great trip and then we spent the whole day hanging out in Nashville. We went to some great barbecue. And if we had just gotten on a plane at around seven o'clock at night and phoned home and missed the entire game, it would have been the best weekend ever. Justin: I will say the fans are really friendly in Tennessee. Yep. Super friendly. Comparatively. Jake: It was the friendliest road crowd I've ever experienced. No, Indy. Indy was ten... Indy, they were like, we're so sorry you lost. Yeah, well they had like pink manning stuff. They were like, you guys are so good, you guys will be back next year. I mean, they were like, they were literally like, it's okay, man, here's a tissue. Like, these guys, they, you know. They were nice. They were nice. Justin: They were very friendly people. We were in SEC country. People went ape shit when TiVo came on the field. People were... We had some people behind us. There were tons of people wearing Florida Gator...
06:01 Jake: TiVo gear. Yep, and they were just there to see TiVo. Yeah, and there were some people were just sitting there behind us So like we love TiVo. What's his number? I was like, how can you love him so much? And I know his number number six. He's number six. Oh, there's number six if only so yeah, so we saw the game and As a stadium was nice a very big open stadium Very open. Not a lot of people, because it's... No. Because you're basically missing two whole sides. Nice big screens, so good stuff. It was, you know, just a typical nice stadium and not... Pretty shitty, like, football atmosphere crap though going on. Justin: Very forced. It felt very forced. Like they really had to get people into the game. Oh god, with the rat... Oh, T-Rack. They had a mascot, like... Family of raccoons. Like shooting things into the crowd. Yeah. With those... air guns. It was very forced, like trying to get people to cheer for things. Yeah. Jake: It wasn't a real football. The best part of their thing was their announcer who had two things. One, when someone got sacked he goes, there's a sack! It was great. And then the other one was when everything is, it's $30.50! Or whatever. He had this whole thing that... We were like yeah, that's awesome. I want that. It's their log 15 And it is like otherwise it was yeah, otherwise pretty bad All right, so let's talk about the game. This is a game that I Had many realizations, so I started I did a little bit of media blackout yesterday, but today I went back in I started watching some media. I watched both SportsCenter They had a big thing on the Jets and you know whatever and they had a thing on I thought Skip Bailis of course, you know, and they were like, what should happen? You know, what should they do now? Skip loves Tebow. Doesn't Skip love Tebow? Skip's a Tebow lover, right? He had nothing to do, in fact it was nothing to do with Tebow. But the one realization that came to me today, and I actually heard three different broadcasting people say it from the beginning, and I kind of went, oh yeah, that's really sad. was I'm wrong and I was wrong. And here's how I'm wrong. You're wrong. I'm wrong. First of all, that is recorded. I've defended Sanchez way too long and I shouldn't have. And in this game, if anybody else but Sanchez had started, we would have won. In all likelihood that is a true statement. Anybody. It could have been you or me taking knees the entire time our defense would have gotten us close enough to kick a field goal. It was absolutely, it was the worst case scenario and this kid's career. First of all, I want to say for all of you fans, I know you're not Jet fans. For the people out there who are putting death threats on Twitter, you need to go to hell and die. There's your death threat. There's my death threat. It's a sport, okay? These people play, it's a sport, get some reality in your life. There's too many real things going on in this world that that should not be taken into account. That being said, this kid's career is over, right?
09:05 Jake: Maybe, maybe not. You know, there's always a comeback story. But it really killed me that all of our defense and our many times I'm like, what's the best thing for the Jets and how can the Jets do better and what? That game proved that anybody could have started and done better. All we needed was somebody not to throw, sorry, turn over the wall five times, or not to throw four picks. If we just said anybody not do that. Anybody we could have won that game. Not to say we could have gone to the playoffs, not to say we could have won any other game, but that game alone, we needed nothing more than someone not to turn over the ball. They were all his fault too. Like sometimes they're not, but these all were. He threw into triple coverage. And he's thrown into weapons, it's not like, again, I get why occasionally Matt Stafford throws in triple covered. I've said this a million times, because you're going up, you're going a guy who's massive huge, it can jump up and beat people down and he'll get the ball. It's just those guys, it's those receivers. But when you're talking about like, guys off the trash heap... And you know, Braille and I always had a not a bad game, like if he dropped one ball or whatever. But like, you can't. He's not gonna save your ass. He can't. He doesn't have the physical talent. He wouldn't be on our team in the mid-season picked up at the 4040 club with us, if not for that. So... I was wrong and I apologize to the Jet Kingdom that I defended that kid for a little bit too long. Whereas I thought something could happen and if anybody had started that game. Tebow, McElroy, I don't know, Pennington, Pennington now, anybody. Anybody who just didn't turn over the ball, we could've done okay. Why'd they not do what they did last week? Or just run the shit out of it? Like, why'd Sean Green only have 13 attempts? And why did Blau Powell only have six? We were never in a position in that game that we needed to, like, throw the ball. No. I mean, on a couple of third downs, maybe. Why'd they attempt 28 passes? Because they're idiots. because the the the coachy stuff. And here's the other thing and here's actually what got me this is I've been a Rex Ryan defender and what got me on the if you want to make an argument for why Rex Ryan needs to go here's the reason he doesn't understand he he he put his pride before winning that game. What was, what? Well, if what I said is just true, that anybody could have started that game and won, and he saw that kid struggling, there was, literally, I mean, there's no clearer case in the world where you can say, oh, it's just one guy's fault. This guy, it was his fault?
12:17 Justin: That's really how you know show to the stadium. Well, no We saw what happened when he had to throw the ball. It wasn't pretty no He actually the never threw it right like threw it like into the crowd. expressly he just ran and the other times Jake: Design run around they just look foolish but you know he didn't though didn't find threw it into the crowd. I wish Sanchez threw in the crowd four times. That would have been great. Justin: And this is the thing that I understand the game plan of only running the ball With Sean Green who's running the ball pretty well. It looks like he was running Barely decently 13 times like how's the only run the ball 13 times? Why is he not running ball 20 and why is Powell not run the ball 10 to 15? That's how they used to win. They don't I have a sense in a game that's this close. I mean, they took the lead in the third quarter, right? Why are they not running the ball? Yeah, I and they gave it right back. Bad special teams play gives Tennessee the ball like the, you know, wherever and then they gave the lead right back. But. Why weren't they running the ball? It doesn't make any sense to me. Jake: I think if you're looking down the list of people who are on the hot spot, there's no, if Sperano is done... I think they're all, I actually, I flipped yesterday. Justin: I thought they had to win every game. I said there was a blessing and a curse to having the schedule down the stretch the way we had it. The blessing was that we can actually win some games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. The curse was, if they did that, people aren't gonna get fired. Jake: So here's the question today. Well let's pick the fool again and talk the question today. Justin: Oh the fool's easy, it's Sanchez, keep going. Jake: Yeah alright. Well I... I... I get a speron out. Justin: You pick someone else? They can both be to blame. They're all to blame. Sanchez physically was the one doing this. Jake: It just didn't feel like there was a game plan. It feels like there's a defensive game plan at every game, but there's no offensive game plan. That game, there's no reason they had to throw that ball ever. They literally could have won by running it. They could have. Justin: They didn't. I don't know. I wasn't home. It looked like a couple of... questionable like I really thought that first touch not how that first drive was a really good drive Went down the field through the ball a couple times Yeah, some nice good drive, and I really thought that was a touchdown. We weren't home. We didn't see anything whatever field goal that's like one big key like momentum changer and then one of the interceptions it looked like the guy was out of bounds but I guess the field was fucked up so like you couldn't
15:03 Jake: really tell but whatever so the question the day is game over we lose game over and we're out of the playoffs it's over out of the playoffs but let's let's let's get to the question so we can get past this yeah so I feel like there's there's kind of a couple different directions this so So the question of the day is... Make your predictions on what happens for the... Because first question, whether we win or lose is not... The next two games has nothing to do with the team, anybody on the team. Meaning if we win two games and go 8 and 8, I don't think that saves anybody a job. If we lose two games and go 6 and 10, I don't think that loses anybody a job. I don't think the next two games matter in terms of anybody's job. Justin: No, I'm missing the playoffs. Jake: Right, like the other night. So, who's gonna get fired? Give me your prediction. Not what you want to happen, but what your prediction? I think Sproul. Regardless. He should've been gone four weeks ago, but okay, yeah. He's definitely gone. He's one of the worst political artists I've ever seen in my life. Justin: Then I'm gonna say, kind of how I was gone. Okay. And then I'm gonna say, because of that, everyone else is gone. on. So Rex, gone. Because the GM's gonna come in and gonna wanna bring in their own coach. Jake: Right, that bringing in the GM app with the existing coach doesn't work so well, well. Justin: Unless they like each other. Right. But the GM gets to come in and interview him. Right. And say, yea or nay. Yeah, but yes. Which means, if he likes him, okay, he likes him. And it might, you know, it might be like we're hiring a GM that... thinks that we can win with this coach. Jake: Well, that's definitely the question. That's the thing. If you want to keep the coach, then you hire a GM that says, I'll keep the coach. So it'll be very clear as we're hiring a GM. Justin: But I'd like to think that we can get rid of tantamount. And I really think that means everyone's going. Everyone. Just starting from scratch again. Pretty much. Literally just, just clean house. And if you think Tebow's gonna be on the team next year, you'd be mistaken. And if you think McElroy's going into the season as the starting quarterback, you'd be mistaken. Yeah, no. It's not gonna happen. There's gonna be a competition. Jake: Sanchez will be part of it. I don't think so. How can you throw out everybody and not throw him out? The eight million dollars is like it is Dead it's dead money Here's a cute maze. Well have him just be a backup people. That's that's what I think's gonna happen Justin: I think he's gonna be the back. Oh, let him compete for someone. Let him compete against McElroy and somebody draft somebody Shit! Russell Wilson was a third-rounder. Draft someone in the third or fourth round, see what happens. Jake: I mean, macro is like a seventh-rounder, just draft somebody, see what happens. So the ultimate optimist in me says, says you could do this. Now, I don't think this is gonna happen, R and I'm not even sure I want this to happen, but I think you could do this.
18:00 Jake: It was gone. There's a money. You go into the draft. A running back weapon. Somewhere. You know, these are more defensive weapons. And you're the best defense on the planet. You draft almost every draft. Justin: You have to draft a lot of defensive players. Like cause pretty much... I think their line, fine. I feel like you need... We need a domi... We need like a... You need... At least two, if not three more linebackers. And you're gonna need at least one, if not two safeties. Because you might not be able to have it keep them both right bell will be gone regardless Jake: So here's what I could see happening, I don't think it's gonna happen, and I'm not even sure I wanted to happen But I think this is this is like a scenario And I think it could be successful Keep everybody. It's brano's gone you bring in somebody who again is a quarterback's guy. You have an open competition, Macaroy, whatever. You draft defense a lot. You get one or two weapons on the offense. Maybe you pick them up in the off-season, you know, on a special team. That doesn't make sense, though. Hold on. And you just build a team who is a defensive run— and you then run a defensive one. team, you don't build it to win, right? Because this is what I think the problem with this team has been is like, we started off this, it doesn't matter, he's going to throw 12 times a game. He can't throw five interceptions because he can't, that's not going to throw 12, he's not going to throw five times. It's like almost impossible. And then you just get a game manager and you, I think you have enough pieces that you could build a defensive team that could then win. That's what I'm saying. And everything is about that. could do it. I don't think that's gonna happen. No. But if we wipe the slate now, we're in a hole for years. What are you wiping? You're not wiping players, you're wiping management. Yeah, what's a shit? Coaches? That means a whole new coach? It means a whole new coach regime? Great. Really? You're on the good? So you want to get rid of Rex? Justin: Look, I mean, you know, the Colts didn't turn it around with just Andrew Luck. I mean, that's not like, you know, they're winning. They have a rookie quarterback, Andrew Loeckler, he's good. They have, they brought in, they got rid of a shitbag coach and all the rest of his shitbag cronies and brought in a good staff and they're doing their thing. Had a couple nice draft picks towards the middle end of the draft. Players to fill out the roster. Those players are sort of underrated. Like when you flub in the sixth and the seventh, like we've done. And you trade guys so you only have three draft picks. Guess what gets affected the most.
21:02 Justin: Your depth. No, no, no. Your special teams. And guess what we've sucked at? Even last year, we turned the ball over like seven times on special teams. Not saying it's the whole thing. Jake: I'm putting it's too bad that the one play that we actually did well last yesterday was that guy blocked in the punt. Blocked in the punt. Blocked for field goal. Justin: Um, but no, I think 10 amount was gone. He's run his course. I think Tana Mom has run his course. He's run his course. He's had his chance. He got as far as he could go. He's done. Yeah. Jake: And with that, all the all the dominoes fall. And really, the Tebow decision is where I think everything comes down to. Because the Tebow decision, the Tebow decision is bad on two levels. It's bad that they got him and it's bad that they got him and didn't use them when they could have used him. And now they could you I mean why aren't they starting but that's the joke that's how shows how bad this is because you've now What if you're going to get him fine get him, but then you should have then done it You should have didn't pull the trigger you got a chance to do it right now Is this they can't do that because they don't want to know someone said this today Justin: They don't want to they don't want to win the two games and make it look like oh they should have done this Jake: That's right. Well that and that's That's fucking pathetic. That makes the me see worse. Why don't you see what you have for next year? But you don't have him for next year. You do. Justin: He's under contract. No. You have him. Jake: What? You don't think he is? He's not a free agent. We have him. He's ours. So could you? So could you? And this is such a heresy on this podcast. Because we were never big Tebow fans. Couldn't you, if you had an entire draft in offseason, couldn't you build something around Tim Tebow? No. Because he can't be on the team with... No, I'm saying get rid of Sanchez. You can't get rid of him. All right fine keep you the one you can't get rid of He's a backup. It's unfortunate No, here's here I'll tell you here no matter how bad Tim Tebow did next year if he started with a starting quarterback from your chest the entire No matter how bad he did no one in the in the stands is gonna be going so you're just Justin: He's the least threat to Tim people ever in their big trouble they got to spend Money to next year on through our eavis. They're gonna have to I feel like they have to try and bring Landry back because he's good. And they gotta go out and get a weapon on the outside. Holmes isn't that good. They need someone on the outside. Stephen Hill's not it yet. Nope. So... They're gonna have to look at who's a free agent Y receiver and try and sign him. Greg Jennings, I don't know there's gonna be a couple guys out there that gonna get overpaid Jake: Receivers I don't want those guys. It's gonna happen. I don't want those guys. I Feel like we had our chance when we could have gone for Wallace or something this year could have he's not that good either Justin: Wallace isn't good. No, he's not that good Jake: All right, so that was brutal Do you want to do your stats? Brutal. Do you want to do your 50 stats?
24:00 Jake: It was 43 to 43. So not even a good... It was a game so bad it broke your stat. Justin: Yeah, nobody won. Nobody should have won this game. Jake: Nobody won this game? Justin: They tried as hard as they could to let us win the game. They did. Jake: They didn't they really really did I mean I lost I basically didn't think they were gonna win and then they kept turning it I'm looking at like to drive log and I mean they did nothing they I Justin: mean they Punted the ball with like a minute and eight left From there like six to the 25. I know. Like a 20 yard punt. Yep. We had the ball at the 25 yard line with 46 seconds. 40 something seconds. You should win the game. I mean they were already there. They drove the Jake: ball down there. Here's another question. So this is this is what we said all along. He had a really nice drive. Why wasn't that Tebow time? That should have been Tebow time. 46 seconds to go. Justin: Should've been TiVo time. Jake: Wasn't that TiVo time? Big guy. You was the perfect situation. You had Sanchez. I'm not even a big fan of TiVo. But you had the perfect situation. Sanchez, throw four interceptions. Sucking at life and everything that is life-like. We're down. All we need this game, the game is on the line. Our season's on the line. It's time for a change. You need the guy who can bring in the 25 yards in 46 seconds. Who's that guy? We have him on our team. He's been warming up for the entire game. Why'd you put him in? Justin: I'm with ya. Jake: I mean it's so galacticly stupid. And I don't even like Devo, but he could've won that game. McElroy could've won that game if he started. Justin: Probably. They would've run the ball more. Jake: I don't know why they I don't I don't get it. They had it. They did what they were supposed to do in Jacksonville I really don't understand it. So I think that this is where I this is where I come to by the way Justin: Start not to let the defense off the hook. They played really well, but that one stupid really 98 yards one 94 yard touchdown and this game didn't game didn't you I mean they wouldn't have scored again I mean we would have won and we wouldn't have had to throw it would have won like 10 3, right? Jake: It is the thing that I think that's getting me to think about more the Rex Ryan thing is I feel like if you look back and we had a big discussion with our buddy Don Sunday, him about saying how he regressed as a team. It's the coaching decisions. It's the last year of losing the locker room. It's the this year in the T-Bow usage. is to pick him up and then using him poorly and then... It's the switching back and forth who's it's just it all makes it look like that while Rex Ryan smart guy Great defensive coach really smart. No, it's the savant. Well, okay. He's he's a brilliant defensive coordinator But it looks like he can't head coach. He doesn't have the a physical
27:03 Jake: He doesn't have the ability to head coach. He only has the ability to do really good things on defense and he can't head coach. So when it comes to making decisions, when it comes to making tough decisions, when it comes to making smart decisions that are for the good of the overall team, a football guy who's not just worried about the defense, you know, it looks like he can't do that. It's what it looks like. Yep. And it looks like he got lucky in the first two years because they didn't want to, I don't know. Justin: You know what, they do always, they constantly do this. Jake: Um, they... Justin: they mismanaged the end of halves really badly. Jake: Like they defer a lot or get the ball at the second half. Right. A lot. Well, this one we didn't defer. They took it. Yeah, they took it, which was great. Justin: But they punted the ball to us with two and a half minutes left in the second quarter. Yes. Which means we had the ball with two and a half minutes and three timeouts. And we did not try to score. We just tried to run the clock out. with three timeouts. We're trying to run out the clock because that's when you know that you have a quarterback problem because you can't try and, I mean, you're shitting your fucking pants if you punt the ball to the pats with two and a half minutes left in the second quarter knowing they're getting the ball in the third, you're shitting a brick that they're about Jake: to score 14 straight points on you. You're not shitting your brick, you're literally saying that's 14 on the board. If you... kick it to them with 45 seconds left at the 25. Justin: That's three at the very least. You're shooting a brick when you pump the ball away to certain teams and we... They're going to score on you. All we're trying to do is run the clock out. Run the clock out with two and a half. Two and a half minutes. Like, I get 32 seconds left. I know it's a 90 something yard drive to get a touchdown. But it's a 45, 50, 60 yard drive maybe to get a field goal with two and a half minutes and timeouts. You mean tell me you don't have the plays and playbook to pick up 25 yards in one shot? No. Jake: They don't have a play over the middle. They don't have the plays. They don't have the players. Justin: They don't have the players. Nothing. No confidence. Nothing. I mean that pissed me off. Did you look at that team? That pissed me off sitting there saying what the f- fuck are we doing? We're gonna go into halftime now. Content? Losing? Right. When we have a chance to go in like with a lead and then get the ball and try and swing? Right. I was so mad. That kind Jake: of shit just closed me. It's colloquially stupid. So one of the things that came up was, so okay. If you believe that that football is a product Okay, not just a sport. It's a product product. The Jets are a product. They're a product. You sell a product jerseys
30:05 Jake: tickets jerseys playing time Jets are gonna be an eight-nate at best team next year at best this year This year, at best, sorry, they're going to come in as a huge underdog, probably with new staff or whatever. Do you see this team going out and grabbing something like Michael Vick and saying, we're going to put a product together? I don't know if it's a winning team, but it's a product. It's a ticket selling product. Michael Vick, huh? Michael Vick. This D... Which is good and a good offensive line not great But good do we get to bring like a guy who knows what to do with Michael Vick along with him Andy Reid? Justin: We get the Andy Reid Michael Vick package Marty morning wig or somebody who knows how to run like something that Michael Vick can run cuz Sprounau it I mean, it's just not well Michael Vick's coming. Let's Ronald's gone gone gone I mean Mike. I don't know if Michael Vick is is like the draw product that that Jake: Necessarily he's an exciting player. He was known quantity. He was a I'm not I'm not saying I'm liking it I have moral issues with what I think off the field. I think he was an exciting player. I think he's old and He's not old But he's old for what he does. But there is no quarterbacks out there. It is like, there's nothing. It's either Michael Vick or Trey for someone who's played three games in the world. Matt Flynn who couldn't be that rookie. Oh, the rookie happens to be pretty good. Well, I'm, I, this is true. But, I mean, is that gonna sell tickets? I don't wanna look at this like a big shell checker's book. Justin: I actually would prefer to not look at it that way and try and say... But that's the reality of our sport. Well, the reality of my sport is... That's what T-Bo is. Great, I didn't like that. The reality of my sport is, win a fucking Super Bowl. I don't care if you don't sell a fucking ticket in the world. I really don't. I can give two shits if Woody Johnson loses money. I don't care. Want a Super Bowl I don't care if Woody Johnson and the Jets product brand bullshit does anything I really don't care. I really don't I just want to see him win a Super Bowl So if you tell me oh you get Michael Vickin win a Super Bowl I'd say well you're probably wrong cuz he's never won Super Bowl and he never even been closed Jake: Well the quarterback to move a Super Bowl go to another team and win another Super Bowl is I think a never has ever happened. A winning Super Bowl, a Super Bowl winning quarterback go to another team winning a Super Bowl. Never happened. I don't know if that's ever happened. And I think same thing true with a winning quarterback Super Bowl coach, head coach. I don't think it's ever happened. Gone to another team and won in the Super Bowl. I'd have to think about it. I think we've done, never done it. Close. Never done it. He went to AFC Championship with the Patriots and he lost. He went Super Bowl with the Patriots and he lost and he went to the AFC Championship and then he went to the playoffs
33:00 Jake: Then didn't make the playoffs. Yeah It's never happened. Yeah, I don't think it has so it's kind of crazy to think well, then don't go pick up people off It's the family see be consistent build the team Michael Vick is like a Super Bowl winning quarterback he's a Justin: Just an exciting player. He's an exciting player who plays like eight games a year. Yeah, so like that doesn't excite me Well, no, it excites me Winning winning. Excuse you. Well, yeah in retrospect We were sitting here and we were both completely wrong. We should have made the full court press for Peyton Manning Oh, yeah, full court press the we will bend over and let you stick your cock in our asses come to the Jets. Then you said, take your car and ask, then you said come to the Jets. Like that was the mistake. And then they compounded it. Cause then they said, oh we're sorry Mark. We mentioned that we might be interested in Peyton Manning. Here's some more money. Oh, Manning went to Denver. That means to you both. We like completely fucked that up. It's all Manning's fault. This whole fucking scene is Manning's fault. If you would've just picked Arizona, we wouldn't have been like, let's go get Kevin Cobb, back up Sanchez. Lindley, I heard he's available. Ryan Lindley. Sweet. It's brutal. Meanwhile, that whole draft class of, uh, whenever Sanchez was 2008 or 09 draft class quarterbacks is... Fucking pathetic. Where are they users? Give my Stafford Sanchez Freeman All losers this year. Yeah, Sanchez best regular season record Stafford best stats. They're empty though Oh, they're totally empty and the best weapon ever been given to someone ever Freeman just whatever No. Yeah, that's interesting. Jake: I don't know if there's other guys that were picked later in that class. And what I've heard is next year, again, I'm not a football. Not a strong class. Not a strong class next year. So like trying to get your quarterback next year. No. That's why I almost want to, and I know this is crazy. Let's just go in and play a year at T-Bow. Let's play a year of Tebow. Literally, just having you start. We build the team around you. We build everything for you to win. We do, it's all about running. It's all about defense and the Tebow package. And let's just make it a fucking year of Tebow. Yeah, they should go on. Justin: Circus. They should hire, I'm sure he'll be fired. The whole Carolina staff's gonna be fired, right? Right? I imagine. So the offensive coordinator in Carolina has been pretty creative with the way that he uses Ken Newton who's clearly a more dynamic player than Thiebaud but like simple. Well that's right, you can throw the ball. But similar styles in that they can run that like college option weird kind of We're running game type of plays
36:02 Jake: Go grab him and do some Tebow time or something like just be creative just and that's it. That's the entire thing It's all just a big if you want to sell tickets that'll sell tickets Justin: Well, I don't want to this is I don't know why this is what I'm saying Jake: I'm because I'm feeling like this is the only way to get out of the hole is like Justin: No, take a moment to get out of the hole is not to just sell tickets Jake: No, take a mulligan for a year and just do what you have no Justin: It's a moment. Well, then you're going against all your principles I I am because you're the one who's like the NFL is not a take a year off. It isn't Jake: Well, I agree with you don't do that. But you've dug such a big hole with so much cap I I don't think we're I don't think they've done next I deep hole as as we're projected like 30 million dollars Yeah, it's so simple. We have a quarterback. We can't it's so Justin: Simple to just say that and then you look at like how they get out from under it and it's so easy Jake: Yeah with the eight million dollars we had under the cap this year. We didn't spend on people That's right, cuz we have to spend it on the right people Justin: Next year like number 24 who should never play for another team ever build build How good chromartie was this year build if he build a Trent Dilford team for next year? Oh, they just turn you have him just turn Sanchez into him say look dude You're gonna throw the ball 15 to 20 times me And just don't day Don't fuck it up I mean, they don't do the things that Trent Dilfries to do at Baltimore. You know what Trent Dilfries to do at Baltimore? He's just whizzed the ball down the field or he'd check down and that was it. That was the play. It was throw it deep 40 yards down the field or check down to the running back. Those are your options. You have two options. That's it. Oh, it's third and 12. Draw play. Fuck it. Jake: That's what I'm saying. So that's what you want. You have that. You got a guy who could do that. But then that's a fire the defensive coordinator, double down on D for next year, and just roll with it. Okay, I'm just saying that's the argument for that well, let's move on all right. Let's move on spin pathetic Let's get to our pick them because that's good news. Well, do we say McElroy was gonna start? Yeah, I did Do we care we talk about when we get to the actual game? All right, do we care? I Mean do you really think he's gonna I actually at this point I just I actually As a as just a want to see the circus. I would just love to see what Tebow could do for a game Just fuck it. Let's just see. I know what Macaroni can do. I know what he's gonna do. I don't know I don't know what he can do. He's gonna look like Chad Pennington. I don't I'm not sure I don't know what he can do. I think there's a value to seeing what Macaroni has. Yeah Oh, you might have a semi-good backup next year. I think they're... Mm? I think they're... You were gonna give that guy the starting keys next year for two games? Justin: I'd give him the opportunity to challenge for it.
39:01 Justin: That's for goddamn sure. Depending on what he does in a real game scenario. I'd like to see what he can do in a real game. Not just a... Preseason games so that I can see it these next two games are basically pretty but they're still real They're still real you have to play four quarters. You have to play against starters true. You have to actually you know play Yes, you have to play. Yeah, I'd like to see what he can do. I I I know what to you know Jake: What I hope you went I hope you threw 17 touchdowns each game and we trade him for like James someone for like not the Matt Flynn thing or just I'm gonna happen. Okay No, I think worst case is he comes in, he actually is good, and we go like, we've got our answers. Why is that a worst case? I just don't believe in it. I don't know, I just don't think that that's, I think you end up with a bad product next year if you settle for your third string quarterback as like the second coming in Jesus. Justin: I still think the most interesting thing is to see if they're gonna dress all three of them or not. That's like the most interesting thing. So they don't dress all three of them. And they decide to dress T-bone instead of Sanchez? Oh man. What does that matter? What does that matter? That's just crazy. What does it matter? Who cares who dresses? Jake: Well, it's the backup. If someone gets hurt. Who cares? They all get hurt. Sean Green run it. No. He throw the ball? Justin: No, he can't. I don't care. I just I find that interesting. I'd like to see what they do. Jake: Yeah, so I feel like they'll dress all three. They'll probably dress all three. Whatever. All right, what are we doing? Let's do some pick-em! Pick-em? How we do last year? Last week? Not good. Dominating you again? You're back. Wow, nice. 109 to 192. Another 10 point lead with two weeks of regular season to go, so I'd have to really flop the next two weeks. And then the playoffs, which is not a lot of games. It's like a total of 10 games. I think I might have you here. One more week, I think I might take you up behind the shed. Your name and your picks first. Uh, Atlanta... This is a Saturday game. I could do the whole thing. This is a Saturday night game. No more Thursday night, thank you. Oh, we got Saturday. We got Atlanta in Detroit. How are we Saturday better? Atlanta's favored by four. Who you got? Um, I'm gonna take Detroit at home. Atlanta I just feel like, even though they just took the Giants out behind the shed, which we watched and was aesthetic, made me feel good because it feels like, oh, there's a Super Bowl winning team that just got shut out. Justin: I still, I still have to make nothing stupid. Those powerful Tennessee Titans, Green Bay by 13.
42:04 Justin: Too many points, Tennessee. I'll take Green Bay. Jake: Are you just gonna pick S-Ninja's one? I might. Oh, just to see if you can make it up? All right. It's like a Hail Mary. Justin: Actually, these first three, the only one that I wouldn't have picked again, would have, I would have picked Detroit. But I'm not. That's easy for you to say. I'm picking... I'm gonna pick Atlanta. Okay. All right, uh indie it's going to Kansas City on, a- Jake: I like Kansas City at home. I like the goodbye. I like the goodbye. I like the goodbye. This is our season, but we're gonna play real hard. Like they did last year against uh, Green Bay. I'll take candy. Justin: Play as hard as hard as they want and score three points. I'll take indie. Uh, okay moving right along. Washington goes to Philly big game for Washington. I think RG3 is gonna start. He's full practice. Jake: I said, oh, full practice? Justin: Washington favored by four and a half on the road. Jake: divisional end of the gear. I don't know. Justin: This one I'll pick first. I love Washington. I'll take that. I know I'll take Philly then. All right. We skipped a few, but we'll just fill those in now. All right. Pittsburgh is hosting Cincinnati. Big game. Jake: Pittsburgh's favored by four at home. more than Cincy needs this. They're gonna play better than they played in the last couple weeks. Justin: Pizz-Pizz-Pizz-Pizz. Alright, at Tampa St. Louis! Jake: They're totally out of it. Tampa a favor by three. I like Tampa at home. Justin: Yeah, I like both these I gotta take Oakland as bad and say, are you cannot tell me Carolina's favored by nine? Yeah, no, it's too many points. It's too many points. I'm taking Oakland. Carolina, really? New England goes to Jacksonville. New England off of loss against San Francisco, who just... San Francisco just beat up on the AFC East this year. Yep. And, uh, Jacksonville, who's fucking terrible. So New England's favored by 14 and a half in Jacksonville, and I like them to win like 49 to 10. Jake: So we're doing the, uh, thrown picks now? Aw, fuck me. Haha, you suck Goliath. Dude, why didn't you stop me? Because I was watching, this is fun, watching you just keep going. Justin: Well, you have stuff stuck in your teeth. That's okay, they can't see that. Whatever.
45:00 Justin: There's my throne party. 4910. You don't have to pick it yet. We'll get back to it later. Alright, Houston hosts Minnesota. Minnesota's still in it. Houston playing for the number one seed. In Houston favored by seven and a half. Jake: I think that since Minnesota is on this streak and they need this whole let's get behind the Peterson thing. They're also on the wild card bubble. That's what I mean. They're in it. Oh, I'm more thinking just like the Peterson. No, fuck Peterson. They can make the playoffs. I like Minnesota. I'll take the points in Minnesota. Fuck, that's what I wanted. Justin: I'm picking Houston just cause. Um, but I like Minnesota. Denver, Denver is hosting Cleveland. Okay. And Denver is shooting for, now with New England losing and Denver having won, Denver hasn't lost in a long time. Denver's favored by 13 and a half in Denver. Jake: Yeah, I see it as 13 here on my little scoreboard here, but whatever. 13 and a half. OK. This is the one game that I think could get out of hand, so I'll take Denver. Denver in Denver against a bad team. I can see them getting this just getting out of hand. Yeah, I agree. It's the one of all of them. Justin: So when I think I'll get Denver to Chicago goes to Arizona, who won convincingly. Against Detroit go figure where which actually helps this line Chicago who lost against Green Bay Is only favored by five and a half against Arizona? I don't give a fuck Arizona did last week They're fucking terrible you think Ryan Lindley is not gonna get sacked about 12 times so true Jake: Yeah, Chicago. It's just I just... It's horrible. Justin: Chicago is not coming through at the end of the year here, for me. All right. It's their no Monday Night game? There's no Monday Night game. Is Monday, like, Christmas Eve, I guess? Yeah. So they don't play on Christmas Eve? Jake: Nope, they play on Christmas Day, cause I've seen a Jazz Dolphins game on Christmas Day. Justin: Play on Christmas Day but not Christmas Eve. Jake: Yeah, but they usually don't play on Christmas Day. It's just that once. Justin: Oh, all right. Well, because I think it's like a Monday night. Sunday. New York Giants at Baltimore. Giants favored. In Baltimore. I don't get this at all. By two points. I don't get this at all. Jake: That team collapsed last week. Baltimore is playing terrible. Terrible. But if you say which team is gonna turn it around at home in front of their fans, it's New York Giants time right now I understand their backs against the wall. They're not in the playoffs at the moment. Oh, I can't do it I'm taking the Giants out this is their this is their time
48:01 Jake: This is when the Giants play the best football that they play so it's either gonna happen or not This is I agree, but this is when This is when that little piece in you that you just won the Super Bowl and you gotta go I feel like this is the 5% that's still not there cuz you're like a Super Bowl win. That's Tom Coughlin's job to get that I don't think it'll work. Alright, and then Justin: Sunday night game is a frickin doozy. This is a great game. This is awesome. Seattle hosting San Francisco Pick them Jake: Yeah, I think it's gonna change a play tight last time too. Seattle was favored by one I mean it makes no sense. I gotta take Seattle Seattle at home Terrible place to play. I'm with you. I I just don't see San Francisco doing it. San Francisco has lost to some Better teams and has lost to crappy teams or not crappy teams, but like has been destroyed I feel like Seattle and I'm just going off my memory. I don't feel like Seattle's been destroyed this year Justin: They've been competitive in every game Sam. She's going in and I imagine they have been destroyed at some point in the season Well, let's look They've been competitive. Simple enough. We have this thing called the internet. Let's see. Any of their losses. No, you're right. They've been in every single loss. They haven't lost by more than a touchdown all year long. Jake: Yeah. Now they're at home. And they're against a team that has lost by more than a touchdown multiple times. My guess. I know against the giant's beat their ass. I think so. Also St. Louis, St. Louis Cape it closed. Yeah, I'll take Seattle. There's no, there's just- Justin: I'm with you. Seattle at home, man. They're tough. I'm with you. They need a New England to win that game so that they can try and win that division because that's crazy. so do we care about like playoff stuff do we even care the NFC is more interesting in the AFC yes he's kinda locked it's not locked it's really between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati well I think he's locked at the top yeah well the top's whatever it's more the the who's gonna actually make it well I think the Colts will make it at nine and five I think they're gonna win this week and that'll be bad the Bengals and Steelers play each other this week If the Bengals win, that's it. Week 17 will not make a freaking difference. Jake: It can end, wait, but can Pittsburgh catch up with Baltimore now? I don't know if they lose. But if they win, they can. No, Baltimore is at 9-5. Right, they lose out. The Steelers lose to Cincy this week. The Steelers are out. But can the Steelers still win their division? Justin: If they win out What's the record right now? Well, they can all conceivably tied nine and seven the three of them I have no clue what it would happen there Indivision looks like Baltimore's four-and-one in division
51:02 Justin: So it would be really I guess Pittsburgh would go to yeah, they'd be tied for two since you would be below them so that would be there then there would be a I guess it would go to conference and Baltimore's eight and three and Pittsburgh's four I think I don't think so okay I think Baltimore's clinched a playoff spot let's put it that way right at nine and five can't be out they've yet to clinch the division so I guess it must be open it must be available right I don't really see how. That's good reporting. I don't really see how, but whatever. Alright, and in the E or in the NFC, you've got tons of teams at 8 and 6. So you've got the Redskins, the Cowboys, and the Giants tied at 8 and 6 in the NFC East. Redskins hold the lead right now. Redskins are at the top right now, because they're 3 and 1 in the division. In the North, Green Bay won the division. There are 10 and 4, they've won the division. But there's two more 8 and 6 teams. The Vikings and the Bears. So right now, that means there's four wild card teams at 8 and 6. And then the Seahawks are at 9 and 5. So they're a game ahead of those. Right. With San Francisco ahead of them at 10, 3, and 1. So it's looking like. The Seahawks are gonna be the fifth seed and that sixth seed is gonna be between the Redskins, the Cowboys, the Giants, the Vikings, and the Bears. Very exciting. That is kind of exciting. It'll be interesting to see what game they have next week. And at the top, it looks like the Falcons. I've clinched their division as have the Packers, but nobody's clinched home field yet. The Falcons are 12-2, so they could finish 12-4. Seattle's Green Bay is 10-4. They could finish 12-4. And San Francisco is 10-3 and 1. They could finish 12-3 and 1. Jake: By the way, what happens to the Falcons? If what? If they make the playoffs and have home field throughout and get the home field advantage Yeah, and lose that first game again Nothing, they can't lose the first game. They'll lose their while they're by okay. I buy oh they'll lose. They're not there There's but this is like this team that like every year is like they get to playoffs and then lose the playoffs Yeah, if the playoffs and lose the play. I do I fire the head coach Justin: I'm dead serious. I'm like you can't get his past You're great. We're gonna replace you at the end of the year every year. Jake: Alright, alright, so let's get to the let's get to pick them. Let's get to sort of thrown picks. How we do last week? Justin: How did we do? We both got the Jacksonville Miami game correct. We got that right. We both got the
54:03 Justin: Seattle game correct. Jake: We both lost the New England game. Both are New England will win. And then of course we both lost the Jets game. We both lost the Jets. Alright, this week what do we got? Justin: Well I already gave you my New England score. Yeah. Just 49 to 10. Jake: Hehehe. Uh, I like the Jets to win 20 to 13. Oh, I said 13 to 23. We're only gonna do Jets first? Wow, you're the one who put it up here. That's not what we discussed first, we discussed that last. That's why I always... put it last you're the one who does this stupid shit this week all right let's Justin: bring it down to the oh we'll come back to it all right all right Buffalo Miami in Miami Buffalo's favored in this game weird are they or did you just do this I might have done it wrong That's what I'm supposed to do. This is your job. Yeah, you don't eat your night or in half. Oh, yeah You put the number two in there. Whatever. It's a good number. Miami's favored by four and a half That's crazy. I Don't understand although I have said that the bills yeah, you still got it wrong, buddy I still said that the bills Are dead. They're a dead team. They're done. Yeah Especially after last week and Jake: My name is not my me still in the hunt for the playoffs. It makes me I know they're six and eight Justin: Everyone would have to just lose everything. I don't know how they get it. I still know I don't know how they're in at six and eight. We're not but whatever it doesn't matter We're not getting it cuz they beat us, but they are gonna win this game. They did not beat us twice They are gonna they are gonna win this game and they are going to win it 21 Jake: 14 I think it's gonna be more higher I'm gonna go like I feel like these teams both are gonna go up in Miami can't score that much more than that Yeah, I think that at home. They're going to thirty two thirty three Miami wins and I already told you my New England Justin: score forty nine ten That's a demolition right there. They're coming off a loss. Forget it. Jake: Yeah, I'm gonna go more... I'm gonna garbage time. I'm gonna go more like... No one doesn't do garbage time. 30 to 19. Okay. Um, because I just can't see that 14.5 points spread or 14 whatever it is. Why not? I know it is. I know. I know. Alright, so let's get to the jets. Maybe MVD will come back. He's actually he's he might play this week. Just in time for you. I play just in time for your team, buddy. Sorry Justin: so We got the Jets we got norv and norv and the the lightning bolts coming into town norv's already fired Jake: Their GM's already fired. I mean, they've said we're gonna replace you.
57:01 Jake: Two weeks ago. Right. They're not fired. They're still working. Justin: They're working, but they have been fired. They're walking dead. Basically. They're like zombies. So I don't really understand that, but whatever. Jake: Is it like a play for norv kind of thing? Like, no, I can't say this. Justin: Yeah, Ernie of course he's doing with Cleveland right now. Yeah, I think we know Carolina. Sorry Carolina Carolina hired Ernie of course The former Giants general manager and president or whatever he was to go advise The owner of the Panthers on what to do because they fired the general manager in the middle of the season So he's like sitting there evaluating everything helping him hire a new GM seeing if they should keep ramabero, which they're not gonna do. Um... Everyone's gone. Jake: So... Justin: I would like Arnie and Korsi to come be the general manager for the Jets. Jake: Well, the big one's Poyole out there, but whatever. I don't know if he's coming back. Oh, he did a bang up job with- Kansas City. Justin: Alright, so we got the Jets playing San Diego. Jake: So this is a tough game because for the last. Well it's a tough game for me because for the last four years. It's not tough. No, for the last four years the Jets had a shot at the end of the season. So it has been four years for me that I've actually had to watch. And I may be five years, six, I'm trying to think of the last time that within two weeks to go, the Jets were completely out of it. I don't think it's been like four or five years. Right? So it's tough like because... It's been three years. No. We... First... This is the fourth year of Rex Ryan. Last year we had a shot. Yeah. So this is the fourth year. So for the last four years... Three. Oh. Those three years and this year, that's four. The last three years, not including this year. Okay, all right. So then what was the year before that? That was the collapse. That was, we still had a shot towards the end. I don't think so. I think we did. I think we were like eight and three and finished nine and seven. Yeah, we had a shot all the way down the stretch and we kept losing, losing, losing. Losing lost our way. So what's so hard? You don't want to go to the game? No, it's just tough to watch a team that it's hard to get excited about something that you have no... You know, there's that whole draft thing that people get into I don't get into that I don't like losing to get into draft. I don't like getting better position I don't think the difference between a 13 and 12 or 10 in a 13 or 8 and a 7 is any big deal. You want an 8? They want a 7? Go up. You'll get the 7. You know RG3 they went moved up and got him, right? We moved up to get Sanchez. We did? You want to move up?
1:00:05 Jake: You move up. You want your guy? So I don't believe in that. But I'm just trying to figure out what am I excited about watching this game for. I mean I'm a Jets fan, I want to watch them play, I'll watch them play. Go watch McElroy. Yeah, I mean is that what I'm getting excited about? I guess. This game is to me, it's like the future backup quarterback. Justin: Or starter. Jake: Alright, so uh. Go watch McElroy. Justin: Let's talk about the Chargers. They have good defense. Yeah they have. So it's not going to be easy for the kid. They actually play decent defense. Um... Ryan Matthews is out. He's done. Broke another collarbone. Broke another collarbone. Um... Same one or? I don't know if it's... Who gives a shit? Um... So he's out. I mean... Phil Rivers... If... If Phil Rivers played in New York, he'd be Mark Sanchez. Huh? If Philip Rivers played in New York, he'd be Mark Sanchez. Everyone thinks Phil Rivers is good. Yet, he's not. His team's consistently underachieve. He made it to the AFC Championship game once. He did it as a young player. He is turned the ball over just as many times as Mark Sanchez has over the last two years. He's just not that good. Jake: But people seem to think he is for some reason. I think like one or two years he had like one of those statistically great games. Justin: Hey! You got Antonio Gates. You got LT in his prime. You got Vincent Jackson in his prime. You got Weapons up the wazoo. They had got north turners your offensive coordinator. It's fun to throw the ball around right you I mean look hey you got all these weapons you got a good offensive line, but Over the years those weapons have gone away, and they said hey we got a great quarterback. We don't need all those weapons If he played New York, and that would be a fun trade. Sanchez for... For... Rivers. Straight up? Straight up. Hey, Sanchez is a South Southern California kid. Go play in San Diego. That's right. And we'll take Phil Rivers. We'll take Crazy Rivers. I feel like they're like the same. Jake: I think they are. I think... I feel like because Rivers has more time, I feel like he's a better quarterback just because I think he has better experience. He's in, let's put it in perspective. I don't think he's a better decision maker. I mean, they're both horrible decision makers. Justin: He's in the quarterback class of Eli Manning and Ben Mrothezberger. Right. Who've each won two Super Bowls. That's correct. And he hasn't been to one. And he may have better statistics than both of them. Maybe. Not over the last two years, but... Like, he's probably thrown for more yards than both of them. Maybe more touchdowns. He might more touchdowns. Um, but when push comes to shove, he's not even close to the record either of those two guys are.
1:03:06 Justin: Right. And if he wasn't playing in San Diego, they can't even sell out their home games and they get blacked out.. That'd be a fun little trade. I mean, not like, I'm not sure he's any good or better, but it's like people seem to think he's good in New York, you suck. Even though, he sucks just as bad. Jake: Yeah, well, I don't want to get back to the Sanchez thing. Sanchez thing, it's the thing that has, that, that, you, I mean, maybe you can coach, maybe you can learn, but it's the thing that you want to see get better, more than anything else, which is decision-making. And it, as decision-making has gotten worse and worse, and worse, and worse, and worse. Statistically worse. factually worse, and by the eyeball test, meaning at the games watching him play, worse. It's just bad. Sanchez's decision-making is just bad. I would love to think that somehow you could turn him around, that you could get him from therapy, that you could torture him or whatever, that next season he can torture him. Torture him. Well, like, put three defensive men like... And every time he saw him, like, shock his Justin: Oh, well, we can't do that anymore? I used to. Can't shock balls? You used to be able to do stuff like that. Anyway, so... It's gonna be a fun game because you're gonna have the back of the quarterback. The crowd's gonna be happy about that. Every time he completes a four-yard pass, they're gonna go nuts. They're gonna celebrate like it's the end of the world. They're gonna run the ball about 45 times. Rivers is fun to play against because he'll throw you a pick or two. They don't have their best running backs. They're not gonna be able to run the ball. I mean they're gonna win the game and I feel like norv's dead Rax has always had their number San Diego. Yeah always So I feel like the Jets win 20 to 13 No, you like sort of reverse these on me at the last minute here key to the castle not suck don't suck don't start such as but but fumble no Jake: but fumbling that was the saddest part is I used to I used to sit and watch Sanchez and through the first couple years, I had the feeling that like he can do it. You can do it man! We'll see you next time on And over this last two years, when he gets the ball, I just think he can't do it. I saw him hit
1:06:01 Jake: he's the king of the interception at the wrong time. And he was, he's throwing what, 16, 17 interceptions to his 12 touchdowns this year? Something like that? No good. I mean, he's just, I wanna look at Rivers. here the thing is going to be like half the place is very basic very bigger than a look at the game the last half of the game that he started against, whatever, Arizona. And you know what? They're gonna do well. They're gonna run the ball well. He's gonna complete his 12 passes. You know, they're gonna run up their ass. Their defense is gonna play well. They're gonna pick six. Like, we couldn't... Why couldn't we get them to turn the ball over? The Tennessee Titans. We never got the ball away from them. No, we couldn't turn them over. We couldn't fucking get the ball away from... A fucking rookie quarterback. Sacked him four times. Justin: Couldn't... Couldn't turn him over couldn't turn him over stuffed up the wrong game pretty good except for one play. Yeah, I mean they really Outplayed him on defense For one play but that one play, you know Maybe not one play didn't mean it didn't do anything. We had the lead after that play. Yeah, it's like, okay So they got the 94 yard run But we had the lead after that. Jake: So I feel like they're gonna play like this old school Jets team. It's gonna be fun to watch. I feel like the Jets are gonna win. It'll be the second coming of of of Tebow. I think what they'll do and I'm interested to watch this happen because I want to see how they use. I like the whole give Tebow a series because you either expose how bad he is. I don't. It didn't work. Well, you either expose how bad he is or you let him do the Tebow magic. Justin: Guess what happened. They ran two nice plays in a row. And then instead of coming out and like running a normal play, they tried to run that play again. And he tries to be Mr. Hero. He doesn't hand the ball off. And he runs. He runs for negative two. Then they run again. And he goes nowhere. Great. Then there's a. uh during 15 well no it's like third and 12 and then because he's t-bow there's a uh procedural penalty so it's a uh a delay game so now it's third and 17 yeah and they have to throw the ball you know they're throwing the ball sorry they went throw the ball in the second down and he there's nowhere he he doesn't he can't throw like he doesn't see the open guys when they're open. and they're not open enough for him. So they have to be like wide open. We don't have wide receivers that get wide open. So he takes a sack for two yards. Then it's a delay game. So now it's third and 17. So now you know that he's throwing the ball. He's running around, blah, blah, blah. Throws it out of bounds. Great. Whatever we punt. Next series Sanchez comes in.
1:09:00 Justin: First play, interception. That is what happened. I know, it's just sad. Jake: All right, so Key of the Castle is don't suck. Don't suck. Don't suck. Just, you know, whatever. I see the Jets winning 23-13. I feel like our defense is doing good. It's too bad they're coming on good when it doesn't matter anymore. But I feel like they're gonna be coming on good. That's what I'm excited, it's like preseason. I'm excited to see some rookies play. I'm excited to see. See you next time! You know, let's get Copples in there more. Why the fuck is that guy not on the field? Justin: He was on the field, I thought quite a bit more. I thought he was out there quite a bit. Jake: I want to see a running. I want to see crazy running from the running team. I want some great blocking, great defense. Let's just destroy them. Twenty three thirteen Jets win. All right. Well, let's see next week. We'll be back. We're going to be doing all offseason. We'll be telling you we'll be going through the draft. We'll be back next week. We'll talk about it. Don't know if we'll do a Monday podcast based on a win. So we'll see about that. I'm not going to be around. Oh, right. We're actually doing not doing a podcast next week. Maybe Friday. Maybe Friday, if we can get one in or maybe maybe Friday. But I don't even know if I'm going to be able to see the game. Justin: Right. Because you're going to cruise. Yeah, it should be on. But like, I don't know where I'm going to be on Sunday. I don't know if I'm going to be on the boat or if I'm going to be. a port So if I'm on the boat, I watch the game if I'm at a port I'm not gonna sit on the boat to watch a game Greg McElroy. No, okay Jake: Even though I might Tivo it even I who you know, give you shit about not watching it even I was like Justin: Yeah, even I wouldn't do that. All right. I mean go to the beach right here at Key West go go to margarita Yeah, right. Yeah, maybe I watch it there. Yeah, yeah, that'd be good. Oh my god She'd kill me. The little lady. Oh my god, she'd kill me. She'd be like, we're fucking Key West, you're watching the football game? I'm a magma. Margaritaville, it's such margaritas. Jake: This is the two best things. Justin: This is great. Jake: You could have, you could have macaritas. Justin: Macarita! With comp fritters. That's awesome. Give me some fucking Timo fritters. Jake: Alright, alright, so that's it. Go check game.com, follow us everywhere. Oh, we didn't get to the, we didn't get any questions. Oh, we're out of time. Yeah, we went over an hour All right, we'll get to your questions next time I swear or not we love you talk to you later happy holidays everybody next yeah, happy holidays and We'll try to get one in even though Justin will be on vacation. Maybe I'll come on just talk for two hours Maybe I'll just come on answer questions from Twitter for an hour and a half Wow. I'm by myself. That would be terrible. Alright, it probably would. But until then, as always, doesn't matter, win, lose, or draw. As we always say, for Jake and Justin, go Jets.
